bee’s summer of stitching
ahoy! thank you for bearing with while i’ve been quiet here! i’ve been pretty busy. i’ve been using my stitching to unwind and calm down, and i’ve got through a bunch of work in the summer. here’s a rundown for your reading pleasure:
Tumblr media
the only way to begin is by beginning | stitched by me on 18 ct | i LOVE gamechanger and i loved stitching this one!
Tumblr media
ceasefire now! | stitched by me on 14 or 16 ct | good to spend time doing at the encampment. this pattern, as well as the other free palestine patterns, are freely available with an option to donate but honestly just donate to a gofundme
Tumblr media
i've had ENOUGH aroace pattern | stitched by me on 18 ct | this took about a month to stitch and was really simple once the outline was done! this will look really cute on the wall near my aroace flag !
Tumblr media
devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes | stitched by me on 18 ct | the pinks looked brighter than the pattern but i loved it! i’ve spend this summer working on my thesis so i’ve been drawn to simple designs and this was perfect. i also backstitched the font and border to make the project last longer (so i didn’t get hyperfixated on a new pattern)
Tumblr media
the children yearn for the mines | stitched be me on 14(?) ct | i started this one earlier this year, but finished it this summer. got super close to the edge there but i’ve stolen @jennystudy’s technique of putting masking tape on the edges to prevent fraying, so it was all good!
Tumblr media
take me back to the coconut tree | stitched by Pax on 18 ct | Pax is my flatmate and i got it into cross stitch over the summer. when i asked them for a review of the stitch, it said, “um… it was pretty fun. except for the bit where i didn’t have one colour because we went all the way to the craft store and i didn’t write it down so i didn’t get it. it was a good stitch.”
Tumblr media
we all got a little barbie in us | stitched by me on 18 ct | like minecraft, i started this one a while ago (edit: a whole year! holy shit!) and came back to it later in the summer. this one is Lorge holy shit i did not expect it to be so big!
last, but not least:
Tumblr media
under all conditions, i will persevere | stitched by me on 14 ct (grey) | i literally started this three days ago when the draft was already in my folder but i got through it q u i c k l y so i added it! this one is so cute, i’ve been wanting to stitch it since i designed it but never *quite* got round to it. this pattern is very special to me because of the damned stubbornness of dandelions and because they signal the end of winter, which is my least favourite season. i just love them
thus concludes the season of stitching i hope u enjoyed my silly little recap !!

★ The Language Accountability Project Invites You ★         ♢ To Join Us in a Mid-Summer Polyglot’s Dream ♢
Happy Summer from the Northern Hemisphere! (And Happy Winter to the Southern Hem!) My discord, designed to keep you accountable in achieving your language goals, is inviting you to participate in another challenge with us!
Studying in the summertime can be tricky. We have an illusion of having a large chunk of time, when suddenly it hits us - a couple rest weeks, some travel plans, spontaneous summer fun, and suddenly the season is over as quickly as it started.
Let's face it, it can be difficult to sit down at a desk and digest grammar when taking a walk with an iced drink is so appealing.
So we're coming at you with a portable challenge - one you can digest with your morning coffee or on a train between travels. And all it takes is three easy steps!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 - Find a list of the 1000 most common words in your target language. Apps like Memrise, Quizlet, Tinycards, and Anki are sure to already have sets of these. You can also find a book or article online which lists them out. Step 2 - Tackle 10 words a day. You're sure to already know some of these words! Don't stress out about knowing how to use them perfectly. Focus on digesting their meanings and getting acquainted with them.
Step 3 - Check in with us! We're here to help build a community of folks who keep each other accountable for their language learning goals. Pop into our discord to jot down the words you learnt that day. Make a social media post or a video of your success and tag us with #laptop1000 so that we can see and share your efforts!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We hope you’ll consider joining us! We look forward to lots of fun learning. And, if you want to join the discord, head on over! We assign new language accountability partners at the start of every month and we want more people to sign up.

How to study when you don't feel like it🌟🌟
There are some days where i don’t feel like studying at all .Its like all my motivation to study and grow has just vanished. Everything else looks more interesting even staring on wall for hours and my mind wanders like crazy.💃
During my exams i have constant PRESSURE on me and that drives me to work but on regular days where i don’t have any tests and the classes are even boring , I struggle to get down to study.
So here are some tips which usually works well for me 🍃🍃
1. Have a pep talk with yourself
Kind of weird if anybody sees you doing this but it work like a charm every time. Stand in front of a mirror and talk why you have to study regularly, what benefits you will get and motivate yourself by saying things like - ‘Hey buddy you can do it I believe in you …we are gonna rock this semester together" and things like that.
2. If you day dream a lot and are not able to concentrate
Tell yourself that you will think about it at a specific time later. Usually when I am studying i just randomly starts imaging a scenario of a novel or movie or TV series and start fangirling about it so at that time I remind myself that OK we will think about it but not now , for eg. At night when I will go to bed. Constantly remind yourself of the time you designated whenever your mind wanders.
3. Set a schedule for the day
First make a list of all the things that you have to do and then arrange them in order of your priority . Then assign time limits to all your tasks.
For eg. 2-4pm – do my homework
4-4:15 – snacks
4:20-5 – reading the next chapter
And so on . every transition between tasks should have atleast 5 min margin .That makes your schedule more flexible and manageable.
3. Avoid any kind of distractions
Your friend's text or your favourite youtuber’s video can wait. You have assigned time for it in your schedule so check your texts , emails , videos then not now. Putting your phone in silent mode also helps.
If you know you will be hungry while studying then bring a banana or any other fruit with you before studying .Don’t wander around your house searching for snack when you should be studying.
4.Watch a motivational video or read a inspiring article about your idol or any prominent figure from your field.
This will surely inspire you and you will feel a new energy in you.
5. Practice effective study techniques.
Everyone has their own methods which work best for them but some common one include, using :
Pomodoro technique ( studying hard for 25 minutes and then taking a 5 min break so every third break should be a little longer)
First reading then making notes in your own vocab. which will be easier for you to understand later .
Learning a topic then teaching it to a freinds can also help( you can teach the topic to your stuffed animals also it doesn’t matter😝)
You can also record the lesson in your voice and listen later whenever you want .Like listening while cooking or while exercising.
Always remember there are no rules for these techniques you can make changes to them and find what suits you best.
Hope this helps , comment any technique which you find useful.
Reblog to spread the word and help other students in need😊😊✋✋

hey i just saw your theatre/drama post and i 100% agree. it's such a rewarding feeling when you share something you've been working so hard on with an audience and they (hopefully) like it. it's really terrifying as well but the community that is formed is like nothing else. haha this probably sounds like nonsense now but whatever. 😊
yes !! theatre is such a rewarding experience, even if the audience isn’t all that thrilled you still feel like you’ve achieved something, you know ? and yes there’s no bonding experience quite like being together for ten hours straight while the director tells you off :P
