Rewatching aos s5 and s6 and it's so funny that regardless of whether the writers intended it or not, the way Daisy communicates with fellow agents she leads makes is clear that she would in fact, be a great director. She's compassionate and practical and confident and not a single agent we see outside of fs family and yoyo have issues with her. Her fatal flaw is that she's too attached to her old friends who she loves and trusts despite them both having gone a little evil and ruthlessly immoral due to the past season's trauma. Like literally if fitzsimmons respected her as much as they respect each other and as much as Daisy respects them, s5 and s6 would be drastically more positive for the whole team.

Re-reading the first introduction of Julian as Helen's little, totally normal twelve year old brother who was always up to something childish and fun knowing that he would just in a few months from then kill his own father (or what was left of him) and then practically become a parent, raising his own siblings and running a whole institute while hiding it is SO SAD. Like I literally teared up.

That Jules was long gone way before he should have been.

ive started a rewatch of marvels agents of shield because my tiktok is filled with edits and people being hopeful about daisys return in secret invasion which i havent seen yet cause i have no time

but ive forgotten how gay some of it is... i wanted to get to the episode where we meet bobbi because its bobbi and simmons interactions with her once she knows theyre on the same side is such a mood lmao ALSO i forgot fitz and "jemma" - the one he creates in his head after the brain trauma - have a talk about how muscular mack is, like baby boy, if you want to be cradled in his big arms just ask, you can say it's an experiment!

and last but not least, I've missed daisy (skye at the moment) so much ;-; she has always been my favorite since the moment ive met her and has only climbed the ranks of favorite superhero for me, if she doesn't show up in secret invasion I'll be very sad

i have a lot of feelings on season 5. ive posted how i see 5x14 and its aftermath (or lack thereof) at some point, and im still happy with that explanation... but just the fact that these mental gymnastics are necessary kind of shows what problems i think there are.

everything that happens sort of makes sense if you squint a little, like yes, daisy would absolutely go rescue simmons on a dime damn the consequences if the guy telling her them is essentially an untrustworthy opium dealer whos visibly mainly out for himself and she didnt actually witness any of the excessive brutality he spoke of herself. but... like this? without first trying to reconnect with the others? get backup at least maybe? or at least the lay of the land? idk man, sounds a bit scripted to me.

and yes, simmons kind of has an excuse for what she does and doesnt do, because she visibly went off the rails after 5x14 and then her husband died, but we also dont see her and daisy make up after it at any point. i think its implied, because theyre both pretty close in season 6 again, but ehhhhhh. show me. please. you cant do something like this and just pretend like everything is fine without even giving a character a line like "what happened back there was awful, but man am i glad we were there for each other afterwards at least" or something.

basically it all felt a little forced and the consequences werent really dealt with onscreen at all. i dont think they just skipped over them in terms of what actually happened on and offscreen, but they sure dont make a lot of effort to elaborate on it. as far as i know, season 5s script had to be rushed and for that it is still really good, but they couldve at least tried to deal with the fallout a little more in season 6 imo.
