It's 5:44 am and I can't sleep. idk why I ever supported Shane as fan. I am extremely sorry and disappointed in myself for being a fan of someone so toxic, manipulative and perverse as him for so long. I just have no words. My love and support goes out to the Smith family. I feel terrible that they have to experience something so disgusting on a public platform. I have never regretted enjoying a creator's content this much.

I know, I stated in my previous post on this topic that I wouldn't be sympathetic to him unless he shows through his actions that he has changed but no after all this I don't think I can do that even if he shows he has changed.

Not addressing pedophile allegations will not make them go away, manipulating people will not make you successful, getting a teenager to contemplate suicide will not sell your pallettes, screaming at your phone on ig live will not make you look less guilty, saying you're done with excuses and still excusing your behavior will not make you any less racist. Stop being like this Shane you're destroying yourself and others around you.

Obviously Jeffree is the worst and a manipulative mastermind himself but we already knew that cause he cracks from time to time. I'm more concerned with how long someone like Shane has kept the image of the Grand father of YouTube "who can do no wrong" and solve all the problems of "misunderstood white kids who keep somehow getting in trouble".

I don't know if anyone will see this. And I don't know if anyone will take the time to read it, but this needs to be said. I admit that for a long time, I've been a part of cancel culture. I agreed with the idea that if a celebrity did something bad, they shouldn't be supported. And I still believe that in a way, but now I realize, cancel culture is not good. It needs to stop and it needs to stop now. I don't know about you, but lately I've noticed people actively looking for things to cancel people over. People can't be cancelled. Celebrities, whether they're movie stars or YouTubers, are people.

People make mistakes. I know I've made a crap ton of them. But when I've messed up, I've apologized and I've told myself to try to be better next time. And cancel culture isn't letting people do that. We are so quick to cancel people the second anything negative comes out about them, but sometimes that negative thing wasn't even their doing. Johnny Depp, for example, was cancelled because of domestic violence, but it is now coming to light that Amber Heard was seemingly the abuser.

This can't continue. We have got to allow these people to be human and fuck up and make mistakes, and we also have to let them apologize and forgive them and help them to be better. I'm not saying this applies to everyone. Some things just can't be forgiven. People who don't show remorse, people who keep acting like they do, who don't care about apologizing, they haven't earned forgiveness. Until they do something genuine, we shouldn't forgive them.

But for everyone else, we need to be able to forgive them. Forgiveness isn't just for the person who's done something wrong, it's for the people they've hurt too. It's a part of healing and we need to be able to do that. Now more than ever. So please, even though it's hard, just try to forgive.
