These are the NHL owners who have not agreed to pay arena staff for suspended events

All NHL players are being paid for the games they aren’t playing in because of the league suspension due to COVID-19.

In contrast, arena staff who would also have been working those events will not be getting another paycheck any time soon.

Many NHL teams have committed to paying their employees (some, through the end of March; others, until events resume as normal). In some cases, the owners of the teams pledged to do so only after individual players stepped up on their own accord, like the Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky.

Team owners have enough money to pay the arena staff during the suspended season.

These are the team owners who are choosing to leave their most vulnerable employees without a paycheck on virtually no notice.

PODTALES: Coming This October to Cambridge, MA

Do you like podcasts? Do you like Audio Drama? Then get ready for

PodTales: A Festival of Audio Drama and Fiction Podcasting is an audio drama festival will hold its first annual event on October 20, 2019, at Lesley University’s Porter Square campus. 

Free and open to the public, PodTales will be hosted in association with the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE) and Lesley University. Together we hope to celebrate independent sonic storytellers by showcasing a diverse display of audio fiction.

Created by and for indie audio drama producers, the festival will feature over 40 spotlighted exhibitors, spanning the full gamut of fiction genres, including speculative fiction, romance, and thrillers, as well as literary and experimental works. Programming will include discussion panels, workshops, and talks presented by working writers, performers, and sound designers. Exhibitor applications will be open on our website from May 1 to June 1, 2019.
