Nimona has affected me on levels I didn't expect. Honestly, when I first saw the ad, I thought it would be a fun little gay movie. And oh well...

First of all, representation is wonderful. Like, should I even say that? Let's start with Nimona herself - I never liked the non-human queer allegory because of quite weird implications but it works just so well with Nimona! She's charming and she's not ashamed of her powers, she just wants understanding. There was nothing wrong with her to begin with, only people's treatment of her has been wrong.

Ballister and Ambrosius. What a treat for me as an Asian bisexual guy! Not only are they cute when they don't traumatize each other, but they are just so... So normal? In a way that they are treated as normal people by the narrative which is very rare within gay media. They don't have problems in their relationship because they are both men; no, their problems are much deeper than that. And that is beautiful. Props to ND Stevenson for not going with the Bury Your Gays trope in the first place haha!

Then we got themes and GOD did it HURTTT. I can see how this could hit much harder for queer people with religious trauma (with Gloreth being a Christ figure, with the realm being a Christian-supremacist state) but I gladly didn't experience it. Nimona as a character is for everybody who's been ostracized for their differences, but especially for queer trans kids. Something which feels so good about Nimona being proud of her abilities and being hurt due to outside rejection, not her inner identity doubt. She's Nimona and she knows it. Should I even mention how metal it is of Nimona to acknowledge the beef within LGBTQ community, specifically between cis queers and trans folks? To acknowledge how people in power weaponize minorities against each other only to get rid of those they were using once they reach their goal? (*looks at TERFs and LGB without the T bullshit this world has going on*)

Finally, I adore how Nimona embraces minority rage. The way Nimona made me realize that yes, there is no point in being a "comfortable" minority, because privileged groups won't like you no matter how hard you try. You can't be a good gay, a good trans for these people. To them you are bad because you are gay and because you are trans. End of the story. So what's the point of trying to fit in, to put up with their bullshit? I used to think like Ballister did, but Nimona said her words and made me think. So I'm. More punk-ish now thanks to Nimona, in a sense. This reveal was straight up life-changing.

Nimona hit me so hard especially because I'm a transgender bi boy in Russia. Nimona came out a few days after the law which forbid medical transition was surpassed and the new "anti-LGBT" law was made. Now it's legal to kill us. Now it's legal to put a person in jail for the fact of their existence. I was... Not in a good mental state, as I had hopes for transition once I was independent, but now it's possible only if I move to another country. Or if we take down the government idk. But yeah, Nimona uplifted me. She was my source of comfort. I've never felt such emotional closeness to a movie.

For a movie made for all the monster girls out there, it did a great job at making one monster boy feel better. Just. I want to say thanks to everybody who made Nimona. Thanks to ND Stevenson. This is such a raw, beautiful queer story. Words cannot describe the impact it had on me and the way I perceive the world.

I've seen a lot of posts talking about how excited they are for Rox to be fired from the team, but also talking about how much they don't like Qwel for 1. defending him and also 2. some things stated in a doc about Qwel. I'll see if I can link the Qwel Doc, and you can read it over yourself of course, but I'm just going to give my own two cents as a grooming victim, a transmasc nonbinary individual, and as someone who read over the document.

I agree, Qwel should apologize for defending him for so long, however it is mentioned by both Qwel and inside the document that new information came out. It's not like Qwel had a sudden change of heart about what we already knew, but something else came out that we don't know about yet. However, please do remember that Rox was grooming not only people, but also their entire staff team, which very likely includes Qwel. You can be groomed as an adult, and while you should understand and apologize that what you did in that situation was wrong, she was very likely being manipulated.

EDIT: added this screenshot. Rox was indeed manipulating Qwel and lying to her for years. Also an apology, a short one but still an apology.

The Qwel document is very old, and the creator of the document themselves have put multiple notices and, at this point, completely moved the old doc around, in order for people to understand that it is old and not professionally created. That doesn't make the points in the document moot, but it does mean even the creator doesn't believe they're as important as people are making them out to be, and the creator also no longer, and has no longer, wanted to be involved in any of this.

This point is when I tackle the contents of the Qwel doc itself. I wish to note that while my tone may become less professional and potentially aggressive, I do not mean any harm to anyone involved in the doc or people who believe in the doc wholeheartedly. I am simply putting in my two cents. I will also be using the same codenames for people as they do in the document as well as color-coding them, for ease of reading. I will also be calling the creator A, again for ease of reading. Please, click the Read More link to read the rest of my thoughts.

EDIT: Also added more screenshots of Qwel being manipulated and lied to by Rox at the bottom. I believe Rox was grooming Qwel in order to keep the relationship they had and power he had in Blushcrush. This isn't about Rox, but Qwel, so I won't deep dive into that, but that is my belief from what we know.

The Qwel document is, at the very least, almost five years old now. I don't have concrete dates for anything else in this document besides the first event, so I have to assume everything else came out at around the same time. Qwel was, in these screenshots, fifteen years old. A lot can change in four/five years, including the way you respond to others, speak to others, and think of issues such as race and gender/sexuality. Even A themselves state to 'excuse the way they word things, as they didn't fully understand the LGBTQ+ community.'

A stated 'Qwel said I was acting like a creep for being friendly and clingy to Dark Pit' but has no examples, written or screenshots, of how exactly they were treating Dark Pit besides talking about them while they wasn't around, DMing them often enough to make them anxious, and become overwhelming for the people around them including Dark Pit. I don't want to shift the blame onto A, but talking about how 'cool' someone is and that alone doesn't seem like the same thing as what Qwel was describing in their talk. A also, in the screenshots, agrees that everything Qwel said was true to a point. This conversation doesn't seem like Qwel is trying to be manipulative or 'pushing A to admit their feelings,' as Qwel really only says 'hey what's going on with you two' and lets A explain themselves. Qwel had also spoken to Dark Pit beforehand about their crush, so A's behavior was obvious enough in that regard.

Dark Pit has anxiety, very bad anxiety, and that's stated multiple times throughout this part of the document. Dark Pit also has a fear of confrontation, to the point where they are scared of asking A to stop DMing them and 'being seen as mean.' Dark Pit and Qwel spoke together before Qwel spoke to A, so it's likely that Dark Pit was the one to tell Qwel to let A know that they weren't interested in a relationship. Qwel did say, jokingly, 'no one else is as strong a speaker as I am,' so that could be implying that Dark Pit asked her to tell him.

I don't think we have enough information about Sheik to say why exactly Qwel told Sheik about what happened, if she knew A didn't like them, or what, so while I can't say anything about this, I will repeat that Sheik apologized and that they are on better terms currently. I don't know why Qwel is acting like she doesn't know this person if they were/are truthfully 'best friends,' but we have no screenshots showing any of this and it could be that Qwel forgot about them. Also, I believe being fifteen is an alright excuse for mediating something that you arguably shouldn't have been involved in. You were young and dumb, and it's been five years. You make bad decisions when you're fifteen.

If A's actions were making Dark Pit and other users uncomfortable, and A wasn't understanding that in order to make it stop, then I can see why fifteen-year-old Qwel thought the best thing to do was make them talk to each other about their problems. A also states that Qwel got in between their relationship earlier, but then states that Qwel was forcing them to confront each other alone. The paragraph that A states Qwel 'made them believe they were a bad friend and forced them to apologize to her' has no dates, screenshots, or anything in detail to explain any of these claims. Qwel, very likely, did not mean to implant anxiety within their head about their friendships. While perhaps she did, we can't say as there are no screenshots or anything besides A's own words.

This next part is set in 2022. We do not know how much A and Mii Brawler spoke over the others in the voice chat, so I cannot say much about that situation. I will agree that calling someone autistic as an insult is not right. If this did happen, as Mii Brawler doesn't remember and there is a chance that A misheard, that was not right of Qwel. There is no proof of this occurring and only one person involved remembers it happening at all.

The following paragraph and screenshot are matters between Qwel and A and what I take as a misunderstanding. Qwel thought they gladly accepted the testing job, A only did for the money. Qwel thought they were still actively talking to each other, A says they only texted about work and the such. There is no proof to any of these claims besides the single screenshot of Qwel saying her own opinion on the matter. Qwel not trying to argue against the claims of being 'two-faced' doesn't really mean anything, I believe. It's an opinion, the document was small at the time and didn't really say much about that, there were more pressing matters to discuss. Not mentioning it does not mean she accepted the title.

This is when we get into the claims of racism/transphobia. Note that the Japanese GF and Mii Brawler are the same color, not the same person. I just ran out of colors to use.

I do not know if the Korean GF and the Japanese GF are the same person, considering Qwel mentions her GF being 'part Japanese,' so I will make two different assumptions depending on if they are or aren't. We do not know why Qwel decided to make a Japanese-themed stage for her girlfriend, how much her girlfriend was aware of it or gave ideas or what-have-you. However, if the Korean GF and the Japanese GF are the same person, this has no racial implications. And even if they aren't, you are allowed to enjoy the aesthetics of another race without it being racist. If the Korean GF likes Japanese aesthetics and themes, that is not racist. The 'waifu' line definitely sounds bad out of context, but there is a chance it was simply a joke. The entire tone of the screenshot seems kind of non-serious, with the 'crazy shit yo' and such. You can definitely argue that it's a joke in bad taste, for sure, but it doesn't seem like Qwel genuinely believed/believes her GF is actually a real anime girl or anything like that. Qwel is a lesbian. A lesbian, by definition, is a woman (or woman-aligned individual) who is exclusively interested in relationships with other women or women-aligned individuals. (This is a very complex conversation about gender and sexuality but I am trying to keep it simple to follow, please don't argue with me about this /gen.) If Qwel's partner at the time came out as nonbinary, and either of them didn't feel comfortable in the relationship due to Qwel's being a lesbian, that is not transphobic. We also don't know why they broke up, if that was even the reason at all. We don't know why Qwel unfriended Sheik, if that was related to their being nonbinary or not. These could be completely unrelated events. Qwel saying she 'doesn't understand nonbinary people' and not wanting to talk about it is also not proof of her being transphobic. The transgender umbrella, the transgender experience, and everything surrounding being transgender can be confusing, especially to cisgender people who aren't educated or didn't know much about it at the time. Every person's experience and view of it is different, as well. Being confused and not understanding something as vast as being transgender does not automatically make you transphobic.

The final paragraphs of this document are used as summarization, while also stating things that A said were probably accidental (the racism claim) as fact. I'm not going to tackle these, I've been working on this for hours and I don't even know if I will be able to get this to actually post. Please take care, take care of yourselves, and keep an open mind. Make sure to think over what you're given, and don't just repeat what you hear other people say.

EDIT: Qwel being manipulated by Rox. Btw, the definition of grooming is "when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them." Adults can be groomed, as well. Just to make this clear.

OHOH BOY Heres the thing, I dont really post crit for much. Usually I will like and reblog some valid posts that come up naturally and if its really a problem for me I tend to leave easy. But Thomas Sanders is killing me and takeover is a bad influence /j

But basically he reminds me of the worst coworkers you've had and he's just. Terrible at the job he ASSIGNED HIMSELF. He brands himself as a youtuber. He promises videos for one of his most popular endeavors which was lowkey a rebranding after vine was shut down and he was no longer a popular comedian on vine. And then he abandoned his largest project. And that wouldn't be a problem! If he did what majority of other cc's do. So many youtubers leave behind what made them popular, the move on the other things because it makes them happy and allows them to continue to bring content. There's usually some fans who are angry at this move but atleast most of those youtubers are transparent about this change. They communicate with their community setting the expectations going forward and they stick with them! Thomas has not done this.

He promised us a large amount of work going into making a season finale, and then making another season and he might not be able to push out content at the rate he has done before but thats because he's putting everything into the finale

But we've had very little sander sides content since then. And these have their own problems as being short and "not being part of the main storyline" or being blatant ads. But Thomas is still cranking out other content, he took up tiktok where he is reliving his vine era, he plays games on a side channel. He streams but only for people that pay him. We took the long wait and said fine. Its nothing these fans haven't done before. But then he goes and months and months after he promised us the finale, he tells us he has began working on the script. What was he doing in those months? How is he only just starting bare basics of this thing we have been waiting on forever. Can you imagine this in a professional setting? You're coworker hell your boss has major procrastination on important projects and refuses to give you a timeline? But they still expect to be paid and continue their job while they are doodling in their office.

He attempts to reason this away with not having a lot of people and the pandemic inhibiting the team from filming. First of all they haven't hadnt had anything to film with the finale because they are still working on the script. The pandemic is no longer a major world problem right now. And when it was that wouldn't of had to stopped planning or filming, it might be harder to do with only one person there but it is possible and manageable!

When he does have his team it boggles my mind! I was in schools news in middle school, we worked in teams of 5-7. Each team was pushing out a video every week/every two weeks. Each video had an original hand crafted intro that was never done before on another episode in our show. We had multiple skits. We had announcements and weather and what we were having thst day. We had news anchors thst led us into each segment. This was all planned, filmed and edited by the team. Was it perfect? No but we had content constantly coming out with completely original ideas everytime while we were still learning how to edit videos. We spent an hour every school day on these, we also split those hours with assignments we had due. We cranked this stuff out in a max total of 14 hours. These tiny 6th graders did amazing work despite being children who are using Adobe for the first time and having such little time. This experience has made me more understanding of what exactly these youtubers do, its hard time consuming work. And this understanding is what makes me so angry about Thomas not having any progress in the finale. This absolutely could have been done by now. This absolutely could have been done months ago.

Tldr: Thomas sanders refuses to communicate effectively with his fans and to work efficiently on this project. The fact that this has been going on for over 900 days is absolutely atrocious. This is his job, one that he signed up for. If he was working for anyone in any field including this one he would have been fired. We deserved better than this and deserve better than him continuing to drag this out.

terrible creation, monster, freak and abomination of mankind's ill - will against nature. all things used to describe him in the past, and yet here the mutant is; cheeks flushed as he opens his palm, long digits ending in a disgustingly ashen gray that replaces the tip of his fingers with monster like claws. scars of all kind, faint, deep, barely visible, discolored, disshapen, physical and emotional all laid bare for the outrider to witness. there's obvious nerves painted onto pale features, putting an off - puttingly sweet expression on the tacet discord whose heart was thrumming against his chest as though pure adrenaline was rushing through his veins. and maybe it was.

nobody has done as much as look at his existence with anything less than terror or disgust. and here she was, treating him like a person. an equal, maybe. as if it was the most natural thing in the world when his entire existence was proof that "natural" could not be said in any correlation to him, ever. and yet here yangyang is - taking that entire notion and throwing it into the wind for blast off. he glances off, the claws of his other hand nervously thrum against his thigh. she has every right to act with disgust knowing the history of his scars and the fact a good amount of them come from the murder of the researchers. yet there is none of that showing on her face.

he startles heavily when a tender sensation brushes over the palm of his hand. at a glance he realizes it's the outrider gently tracing over his scars, feeling the roughness of his skin and the jagged tissue of his scars. his blush deepens, heart skipping a beat or two before he even realizes he's held his breath at the realization. daring to suck in a breath and exhaling it to come back into his natural rhythm he watches her focus in on singular scars, tracing them and looking at them from different angles. he doesn't deserve this, he thinks. or maybe he does. someone as amazing as yangyang does not come into the life of the undeserving, doesn't get sent to someone like that by the fates. or at least he thinks fate wouldn't be quite that kind.

maybe it was the silently bearing whatever the people (and in the wild the crazed tacet discords) threw at him and keeping up in his attempts to do good. maybe it was to even out the unfairness of his past. or maybe it wasn't fate at all and he simply managed to find the most amazing person he could ever wish to meet all on his own. maybe fate was just an excuse for him to pretend that some mysterious power pushed them towards interacting with each other when really it was yangyangs almost stubborn refusal to be anything but kind after sensing the melancholic pain he carries. that and his own stubborn refusal to give up trying to commune with her when she did not look at him with the same disgust most other people held. it gave him hope that maybe one day he could get along with other people, too.

when he feels her own fingertips stop tracing over his scars he sucks in another breath, holds it before carefully, very gently lifting the very same hand. he is gentle, as though she were as fragile as glass - or well, as gentle as someone should be if they have claws on their hands. he's sure the butterfly touch of the back of his claw tracing over her hand until it reaches to side of her face to slowly, carefully trace it until eventually he can cup her face in his hand. and then he leans forward, thankful his sitting figure is close in height to her, to rest his forehead against hers when he gives a gentle, sincere smile, manifesting enough power to manipulate the sounds around him again to fill in vocally where his voice falls short.

He's so sillyyy!! (the name is Christmas themed—Halloween is my favorite holiday since it's so close to my birthday—oct. 27th. No I will not explain why he's got the name).

He's got the horns of a Ram & the ears of a goat—I just think they're both neat animals—and the lore was made in like 5 minutes so pardon the messiness of it. But essentially she's just like that™ and I wanted to draw the ears of a goat, but I also like ram horns,,,,

Anyways their story :)))

He's a single child who grew up on a farm but when she got older they wanted to start learning to become a geologist—or some sort of Botanist. But his parents needed someone to tend to the farms as they were getting older. So they had to push those dreams to the side to help take care of their parents & their farm. But their parents were very sad that he can't live out his dreams—so they make sure to buy him all sorts of biology, geology, botany, and on occasion—mathematics books.

She loves all the books she recives!

Another thing I wanted to mention—she's very calm/tired/laid back from farming all day—but they used to be very different when he was younger. They were like the ram with the largest horns type of deal (not the strongest)—and would headbutt anyone who bothered them—still being at the age to not understand that headbutting people isn't nice.

At some point someone she knew as a friend was just a bit too forceful when they took a toy—or had just been a bit too rough with them—and they headbutted their friend—another ram.

Blitzen's ram horns weren't strong—he was still pretty young at the time compared to their friend, who was a couple of years older than him. And Blitzen would headbutt other people—but they were weak attempts—this time Blitzen was aiming to really make them shove it.

Blitzen's horns broke off—the both of them, and it was an ugly mess—Blitzen didn't stop attempting to headbutt their friend until an adult stopped her. Only then did Blitzen realize what they were doing & how they shouldn't have done that.

They stopped headbutting people and changed—they wanted to be nicer—because people would often call them rude. So now they wanted to stop all of that—being mean and hurting people, because at some point it would hurt them—and they didn't like being hurt—especially since blood stained their hair and the headbutting broke their horns—meaning they had to wear bandages for a couple of days to stop the bleeding—which was pretty uncomfortable to Blitzen.

Along with the change in weight—having horns, then suddenly not would be an experience for anyone.

So they began to work on their parent's farm—or do any sort of activities to keep themselves distracted since they always get so pent up with energy.
