It's takes a homemaker to save the universe. Just saying.

I love this episode. It's a refreshing break after the heaviness of the last several episodes, especially Sheppard being tortured. Rodney has a bit more of his pride chipped away, reunites with his sister, finds out he could be cool, and that his friends really do care about him. The end with his sibling moment with Jeanie makes me cry. As one of five, I'm a sucker for sibling moments. But, joining his friends, being teased but accepted for who he is, is perfect.

My favorite thing about this episode is that it cements more subtly Sheppard and McKay's friendship. I think this might be the first time we see McKay in Sheppard's room getting advice and help. Sheppard also lays the foundation for Rodney to heal his relationship with his sister, and Sheppard leads the way in the final scene of assuring Rodney they don't like Rod more than him.

It's not only Sheppard that's not good at feelings, or social situations, who doesn't have friends. It's not only Sheppard and Ronon who were terribly lonely. It's also McKay. McKay only expresses worry and arrogance, never love or kindness, he has very little social graces, he has even fewer friends, but this is his family. Sheppard expresses his love through action. McKay doesn't even have that. I'm beginning to think that of all of the Team, Rodney is the most desperate for friends. The great part?

These lonely people find each other.

Random realization: All these people went to Atlantis because of the opportunities, knowing they may never see Earth again. They all went as friendless people. I couldn't, I wouldn't drop everything to go to a place I will probably never return from. They do because they don't have family here. But they find family in Atlantis... and then they start healing relationships at home. I love it!

Ugh! I hunted high and low for this as an image and finally found it as a gif. It's the end of McKay and Mrs. Miller, after Rodney has hugged his sister and goes to find his friends. It's just such a ridiculous and adorable friendship scene. I loved it.
