a kiddo jean and kiddo judd blurb!

Jean winces at the pain that shoots through her back. The kid nestled behind her grunts and gives another kick to her body.

“Move!” He hisses by her ear. Jean doesn’t answer, doesn’t move, and instead keeps her gaze on the wall across from her. “Hey,” the kid snaps, this time, banging his knee against her. “Are you stupid? Can’t understand English?” he asks with a scoff

God this kid was a pain in the neck. Didn’t he see that if she moved anymore that she’d fall? This day had been a nightmare, from beginning to end. Learning she was a demigod, having to leave her family and be stuck here at some weird camp. Now she was holed up in some cramped cabin cause her dad just couldn’t be bothered to claim her, whoever he was.

It’s a lot for a 10-year-old to take in.

Still staying quiet, Jean only tugs her blanket over her shoulder. Her eyes narrow as another hit from the kid blows against her, hot and angry tears slipping down her cheeks. Her fist clenches tightly.

“Move, stupid-o!” 

A loud smack sounds out, and the kid howls in pain.

Jean sees another form standing over the bed. A kid she met earlier. What was his name again? She blinks and then whispers, “Judd?”

“Say it again,” Judd hisses at the kid instead. The kid wisely stays quiet. Judd lifts his fist in a warning. “S’what I thought,” He grumbles, before looking to Jean. “C’mon, you can stay in my bunk. The kid who was on the top got claimed, you can take it if you want.” He offers

Jean stares at him wordlessly, looking at the kid who was now curled up and crying. She sees the slight fear in him but thinks nothing more of it. “O-Okay,” She whispers, grabbing her blanket. She follows Judd through the cabin.

There was a heavy silence that filled the cabin as they moved along.

“Thank you,” Jean says quietly. 

“He had it comin’”

“Not for hitting him,” She shakes her head. “For letting me have the top bunk,” She clarifies. “That’s nice of you,”

Judd seems to pause and frown at her words. “Go to sleep,” He suggests, getting into his bed. Jean watches him for a moment, then climbs up. 

Maybe the day didn’t have to end too badly.

She does dual enrollment during HS, earns her AA degree pretty early and decides she to travel and work than further pursue school (for now)

Makes friends and connections, and hops from state to state when a job is offered. Never really stays longer than a year anywhere

Works a Lot of jobs. Some notable ones include;

A roller skating waitress at a kitschy pink diner. Like this, the vibe provided by Romy. She leaves that job after a monster attacks. The battle left half the place destroyed.

She works a stint as a bottle girl in some club in Miami, she quits after five months after waaay too much Drama with her coworkers

A medieval themed bar/tavern. It was a lot of fun. Jean gets into DnD since the place hosts game nights there. She’s “let go” from that job due to some jealous coworker

Jean gets a job as a beverage cart girl on some luxury golf course in Vegas. Decked out her cart all cute and neon. It was literally one of her favorite jobs, till she got fired for hitting a guy across the face with a beer can when he kept touching her

But her most favorite job was when she worked a cantina in Mexico. There she got to make all kinds of food that she wanted, experimented with drinks. It brought in crowds but unfortunately the cantina closed down, and Jean left again

Finally, she ends up in California and decides to make it her home. She works at various bars, clubs, parties and events

When she does settle down, she starts collecting items again. Oddities, gemstones/rocks, starts and impressive squishmallows collection, and SW action figures ofc

Jean gets into reading romance novels, especially dark romances cause she’s a lil freak like that but Secretly

Finds an abandoned kitten and takes him in, names him Starscream

Eventually cuts her hair short, dyes it red and gets purple highlights

Dates around, but not all into having hookups/flings, she’d like something genuine and serious at some point

If it’s her day off, find her at the beach or checking out hidden gems around town

Jean works a lot trying to save up as much as she can because she wants to open her own cantina, on the beach, maybe somewhere in South America
