How good is the JBL Clip portable Bluetooth speaker?
JBL has established itself in the speaker segment. They have a product for almost every use, be it for indoors or outdoors. Their Bluetooth speakers not only have nice designs, but also unique features. A few examples of this are the JBL Pulse and the Charge. Joining the list now is the JBL Clip. It’s one of their most portable speakers and around Rs. 3,000*, and also one of the lightest. The speaker comes equipped with a clip that allows you to carry it with ease. It looks like a very nice product to tag along on hiking trips.
Now having a standout product can be a problem sometimes: put out one great thing, and everybody expects more from whatever you release next. Fair or not, that is exactly the situation the JBL Clip was in when we brought it in for review. So, did it hold up to our expectations?
Tumblr media
Build & Design
While we’re looking at the classy black model, the JBL Clip is available in a few different colors: blue, gray, purple and red are all options. The speaker’s design is interesting, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen it. The Logitech x100 boasted a similar design, though there are a few differences that set the JBL Clip apart. First is the somewhat more understated color options.
Features
Underneath the metal grill, lies a 1.5-inch driver. It has power output of 3.2W. It sounds loud enough for outdoors. JBL also mentions a frequency response of 160Hz — 20KHz, which looks good on paper for a speaker of this kind. However, we’ll find out how well it does, when we start testing it with music. Apart from the auxiliary port, you also have Bluetooth connectivity. On the official website, JBL only claims compatibility with Android and iOS devices. The speaker also comes with a built-in microphone that lets you answer phone calls when connected to the speaker. There is a dedicated button on it that lets you pick-up incoming calls.
Tumblr media
Connectivity
Bluetooth is so common in portable speakers these days that you just assume it’s there and, indeed, it is here. Pairing is fairly simple: power the speaker on for the first time and it immediately enters pairing mode. Once it’s on, just pair from the device of your choice. Bluetooth range is standard at around 30 feet and not once did I run into any stuttering or breakups during testing, as long as I stayed within range.
An interesting touch is that the speaker has its very own built-in 3.5 mm cable. Forget to bring a cable for your old, non-Bluetooth iPod? No problem, the JBL Clip has you covered. This, as you might imagine, is very handy. Another interesting touch is that JBL has included a 3.5 mm out jack on the side, meant for daisy-chaining the Clip with another speaker.
Despite the small size, JBL didn’t skimp on the buttons. On the right side, you’ll find the volume buttons, white the left size holds the power, Bluetooth and call buttons. Speakerphone quality was fairly decent, with both incoming and outgoing voices loud and clear.
Performance
It’s surprising how loud the JBL Clip is for its size. You won’t have much problem having the Clip around when you’re on the move. It’s like a small boom-box by itself. But like any portable speaker, the JBL Clip doesn’t handle high volumes too well; some distortion can be heard when you crank up the volume. While playing heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Tesseract and Tool we could only hear distortion. It was mostly the guitar riffs and drums that sounded unclear. Mids and vocals though sounded very good.
The JBL Clip also lacks a little when it comes to bass. Thumps in bassy songs just sounded flat. However, it doesn’t take away the feel out of the song. What the Clip loses in depth, it makes up in sharpness. Overall every song we played on the speaker sounded crisp, especially the acoustic songs. Details in songs can easily be heard. We found the speaker performing really well while playing slow melodic songs like ‘Dream On’ from Aerosmith. Everything sounded balanced, starting from the guitar riffs to the amazing vocals. Connecting the speaker using Bluetooth is simple. We were able to play music from a distance of 25-feet without any glitches. We also had a few phone conversations with the built-in microphone. It’s possible to have a good conversation even when sitting at a distance of 5-feet but we recommend sitting closer if you don’t want the other person to hear any of the background noise that might be present.
Tumblr media
Concluson
We really liked the JBL Clip. When it comes to portability combined with good audio, it’s one of few options that won’t cut a huge hole in your pocket. It’s also stylish and the carabiner clip, although not a great feature, can come very handy in certain situations. The wide range of funky colours also makes it quite attractive option for outdoorsy youngsters.
Any of our winning options are quality speakers that will serve you well, but selecting the perfect one is about your preferences and ideal price point.Want more recommendations for the best Bluetooth speaker ? Check out our guides to the DinDinModern.

JBL Tune 225 TWS Review : Worth It?
Hey Lovely Peoples, We’re going to check the latest iteration of the JBL Tune 225 TWS  and to see if it’s any good,
Tumblr media
Let’s get in with a review of the JBL Tune 225 TWS ghosts. It’s not the cheapest AirPods alternative in the market, and for many people, these are pretty expensive earbuds.
Get Yourself a JBL Tune 225 TWS Earbuds at Amazon Here JBL Tune 225 TWS Discussed Topics JBL Tune 225 TWS : Design and Build The JBL tune 225 TWS ghost is the same as the JBL Tune 225 TWS, but it’s designed as a transparent case with a slightly smoky color.
The 225 ghost comes with a ghost orange color and a ghost black color. If you’re a fan of JBL’s orange color, you definitely can consider getting that.
On the front of the case, you will see a JBL logo in a silver color font. It super fits the case’s color, so it remains stealthy and cool looking. The entire case is actually transparent.
So if you shine a light all around it and you can see all the components inside very reminiscent of the game boy clear of the 90s, so a benefit of having a case like that,
Tumblr media
although it’s made of clear plastic, the smoked black color hides scratch Super well, so these will stay fresh longer, and below that, you will also be getting a Type-C charging port, and 225 TWS doesn’t come with wireless charging
The hinge of the lid is quite nicely engineered, giving you that jbl quality. All around, you get a very nice hinge that holds the lid up for you to access the earbuds, and you can see how the hinge works through the transparent case, which is pretty cool, and inside Of the case,
you see the earbuds sitting vertically, similar to how AirPods do. You get three stealthy indicators that tell you the battery percentage of the case in the middle of it.
The earbud is made of a combination of materials. You get the same ghost black, transparent plastic at the front of the stem, and the tip of it inside you get a matte black, slightly grippy rubber compound.
That gives you a perfect grip when it sits inside your ear, unlike the glossy AirPods that will slide around when it gets oily.
So the earbuds’ led indicator is also very subtle and is hidden inside this ventilator grill of each of the earbuds. So if you can see the tip of the AirPods is angled a little bit, it does try to aim into your ear canals a little, and apart from that, there are no other technologies on this earbud, like in-ear sensors
Design and Build 4/5 JBL Tune 225 TWS : Features You’ll be getting a Bluetooth 5.0 chipset that supports only the AAC and SBC audio codec, which is pretty good for most use cases, especially when these are targeted as AirPods alternatives.
The earbuds also don’t come with any IP rating, and this is quite a bummer because Harman says that the original 220 is not made for workouts.
So try not to get them wet if you can, and for $60 earbuds in 2021 and no IP rating, that’s quite hard to swallow.
The earbuds, however, comes with a super seamless, mono and stereo mode so that you can put either side of the earbuds back into the case any time. The other side will still be connected to your phone.
Lastly, there is no multi-point connectivity on these earbuds, so you can still connect them to multiple devices, just not at the same time,
Features 4/5 JBL Tune 225 TWS : Battery From a battery life perspective. The 225 ghost gives you about 5 hours of battery life. The case provides you about 25 hours in total, especially when Bluetooth efficiency has dramatically improved battery life, but 5 hours is not too impressive in 2021.
The JBL Tune 225 TWS, however, gives you quick charging. So 15 minutes of charging gives you about 1 hour of usage, and charging the case and the earbuds up from empty will take about 2 hours.
For modern earbuds, I think the jbl 225 goes pretty mediocre for modern earbuds, especially considering the price you’re paying for it.
Battery 4.5/5 Sound Quality From a sound quality perspective. The ghost is a pretty good-sounding AirPods alternative.
Like most jbl earbuds, these earbuds come with JBL’s pure bass, sound technology, which is pretty good for an AirPods alternative, but keep in mind that this is still an AirPods alternative, so do expect some leaks and reduced bass.
Sound signature, bass wise these are capable of producing some powerful bass, and if you press them into your ears, they sound super strong.
But once you let your hands go, the bass performance gets reduced by about 70%, and it’s toned down quite a bit because of that ear tip style.
Clarity, wise, these are pretty good, giving you crisp mid highs and vocals in your music, so listening to it to any music with bright instruments
Sounds exceptionally nice on these earbuds. The soundstage is also really good, considering the earbuds’ design these gives you a pretty dynamic sound signature coupled with that 12-millimeter dynamic driver. These earbuds do give you a somewhat open, sound signature.
All in all, where jbl products usually shine is in the audio performance. Suppose you set your expectation rights with these earbuds and the AirPods alternative genre. In that case, these are some of the better sounding options.
Sound 4.5/5 JBL Tune 225 TWS : Latency Latency is not especially impressive on these. Although these come with Bluetooth, 5.0 chipset games still see quite a noticeable delay, very similar to the type of lag you get with early Bluetooth 5.0 chipsets.
Watching movies with Any Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds is usually very good and generally doesn’t get any lag at all.
However, if you’re looking to play games with these, definitely not the best options out there
Latency 4/5 Soundpeats T2 ANC True Wireless Earbuds Review JBL Tune 225 TWS : Controls The 225 ghost comes with a button control as opposed to most earbuds that come with touch controls. Nowadays, I prefer button controls. The 225 goes pleasantly easy to operate without having you or hurting your ears to play.
Your pulse media press once on the right, earbuds and you’ll play or pause your media and to pick up phone calls press once on either side of the earbuds, and it will pick up your phone calls to skip tracks forward press once on the left earbuds
And You’ll skip your tracks forward, and to skip backward, press twice on the left, earbuds. It will skip your tracks backward, call your assistant, press twice on the right earbuds, and it will pause your media and pull out your assistant.
So this way, you can get your assistant to control the volume of your media as well. So that’s all the controls you get with the jbl 225 ghost, so overall.
Controls 4/5 JBL Tune 225 TWS : Call Quality The call quality of this JBL 225 goes pretty good. It simulates The performance you get with a premium pair of true wireless earbuds. The call sounds crisp and clear in quiet environments. Although background noise still comes through quite a bit in noisier environments, overall call quality is still pretty solid.
TWS ghost is a good earbud for making phone calls.
Call Quality 4.5/5 Conclusion I don’t think that this is the best AirPods alternative, but it’s not the worst as well.
I still think that the taotronics sound liberty 80 is a better option. However, if you like the jbl brand, the design of this limited edition case – and you totally understand the sound signature of JBL‘s AirPods alternative – then definitely go for it.
Get Yourself a JBL Tune 225 TWS Earbuds at Amazon Here Our Rating 

How can I maximize the performance of my LENOVO battery? There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your LENOVO battery:
If you are not using the internet turn off your wifi connection and lower the intensity of your backlight (hold down function and move the arrows up or down to change intensity).
Let the power of the batteries (15%) drain to 0% When you use your brand new Battery first time. And then full charge it(usually chrage it full 12 hours) and let it drain to 0% again. Do this for 2~3 cycles.
Don't leave your computer plugged in constantly when it is not in use.
Keep your notebook in a well ventilated place and keep it cool. Your battery works faster when it is hot because it is creating more energy and is burning out faster.
Unplug any external devices that you don't need such as using a usb or bluetooth mouse .
If you are not using the device, do not put your laptop battery in the device for an extended period of time.

What is the run time of LENOVO 45N1716 battery?
LENOVO 45N1716 have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of batteries is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Milliamperes. One thousand Milliamperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a battery, select batteries with the most Milliamperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together.

2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback First Test: Haute, Not Hot
Mention Toyota Corolla to anyone, and the first terms they’ll likely use to describe the car would be fuel efficient, affordable, and, in the case of automotive enthusiasts, a boring appliance. With the exception of the rear-drive Corolla GT-S/AE86 (the spiritual ancestor of the Toyota 86) and the Corolla XRS of the 2000s, the Corolla never got anyone’s pulse racing. Toyota aims to change that with the 2019 model, which has an eye-catching exterior highlighted by an angry-squinty front fascia and rakish side profile. We tested two 2019 Corolla hatchbacks to see how they stack up against the rest of the class.
Riding on the TNGA platform, the 2019 Corolla hatchback has improved body rigidity over its predecessor. Motor Trend testing director and figure-eight guru Kim Reynolds found the 2019 Corolla hatchback’s agility enjoyable. Although the car takes some prodding to get through a corner, Reynolds noted that the understeer isn’t excessive and it’s sensitive to steering inputs. The independent suspension setup gives the Corolla hatchback confident handling through corners. Body roll is minimal, making the car feel planted on the road.
Although the 2019 Corolla hatchback has better driving dynamics than its plodding predecessor, it’s not perfect. The car’s chassis does a good job absorbing road imperfections and potholes; however, large bumps and dips can cause the rear suspension to bounce around, especially if you hit one when taking a turn at highway speeds. Steering feel could be improved, especially at high speeds where the weight of steering feedback barely increases. Despite its improved driving experience, the 2019 Corolla hatchback isn’t on par with the Honda Civic and Mazda3, both of which offer superior handling and more driver engagement. Furthermore, the Chevrolet Cruze and Volkswagen Golf/Jetta compact cousins offer a smoother ride.
With 168 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, the 2019 Corolla hatchback’s 2.0-liter I-4 is no powerhouse, but it’s enough to get you up a steep incline and pass slower traffic. You do need to rev the engine toward redline, as it doesn’t have much low-end torque. The standard six-speed manual has reasonable throws, gates that are easy to find, and an automatic rev-matching system that works smoothly and can be turned off with the press of a button. The clutch is light and vague, so it’ll take time to find where it engages. Road test editor Chris Walton observed that the manual clunks when shifted fast. A CVT is optional, but it features delayed responses and jerky fake shifts when left to its own devices or using the paddle shifters to manually change between 10 preset ratios. Sport mode improves throttle response, but it’s a little too touchy. The CVT provides superior fuel economy, at EPA-rated at 30/38 mpg city/highway in XSE guise or 32/42 mpg in the base SE. Opting for the manual drops those numbers to 28/37 mpg.
At the track, the manual-equipped Corolla hit 60 mph in a spritely 7.5 seconds and finished the quarter mile in 16.0 seconds at 87 mph. The CVT-equipped tester was 1.0 second slower to 60 mph, but by the quarter mile it was only 0.5 second behind at 85.4 mph. On the handling tests, the manual-equipped tester generated 0.81 g of lateral acceleration, and the CVT-equipped car produced slightly more at 0.83 g. Both cars finished the figure eight in 27.6 seconds averaging 0.62 g and 0.61 g for the manual and CVT, respectively. Stopping from 60 mph took 131 feet on the manual Corolla and 120 feet for the CVT-equipped car. Walton observed a firm brake pedal with lots of vibrations, but dive was minimal and stability was good. He suspects that the lack of initial bite is the reason for the manual model’s long stopping distance.
Inside, you’ll find soft-touch materials on the dash, upper door panels, center console, and armrests. Hard plastics are found in the rear passenger compartment and away from the touch points. The front seats offer good side and thigh support, keeping you in place on winding roads without making you feel confined on the daily commute. The front seats feel cozy because of the dash design, which pushes into occupants’ personal space. Rear seat space is only good for two passengers even on short trips due to the lack of knee- and legroom. Tire noise in our two testers was excessive due to the standard 18-inch wheels shod with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 performance-oriented all-season tires, and a fair amount of wind and road noise enters the passenger compartment at high speeds. Engine noise is minimal when you’re cruising, but it can get thrashy higher up in its rev range. If you find a competently produced interior to be acceptable, the Corolla Hatchback is fine, but if you want a bit more style and refinement you might want to compare it to the Mazda3.
Cargo space checks in at 17.8 cubic feet behind the 60/40 split-folding rear seats. Even with the rear seats folded, the 2019 Corolla hatchback doesn’t have much cargo capacity, meaning the car’s styling comes at the cost of practicality. The Hyundai Elantra GT, Kia Forte5, and Subaru Impreza offer more usable space with the rear seats up or down thanks to their squared-off openings and the lack of intrusions into the cargo area. Those competitors offer over 50.0 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats down and at least 20.0 cubic feet with all seats in place.
Entune 3.0 with an 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard on all 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchbacks. It now comes with Apple CarPlay but not Android Auto, meaning Android users must interact with the native system. Although the layout is straightforward, the system isn’t responsive enough regardless of whether you use the touchscreen, physical buttons, or voice commands. And the Scout GPS Link app locks you out of Bluetooth-phone voice-command functions when you have the map displayed on the touchscreen (loaded models offer an integrated navigation system). Although it’s the newest version of Toyota’s infotainment software, Entune 3.0 is still clunky, its graphics are too similar to those of the previous version, and it’s not as smooth, intuitive, or quick to respond as rival systems from Chevrolet, Hyundai/Kia, Volkswagen, and Honda.
All 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchbacks come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which bundles together automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, and daytime cyclist detection. Models equipped with a CVT also get lane tracing assist and an upgraded adaptive cruise control system that works at all speeds and can bring the car to a complete stop. The adaptive cruise control system works well, but it leaves a larger gap between you and the car ahead than other adaptive cruise control systems. Even if you use the closest setting, impatient drivers have room to cut into the yawning gap between you and the car ahead. And the lane departure warning can get confused if you’re in a lane that’s about to split into two directions.
Our two test XSE grade test vehicles checked in at $23,910 and $26,610 for the manual and CVT versions, respectively. That gets you a long list of standard features like LED headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Base SE models make do with 16-inch alloy wheels and cloth upholstery. Options on the XSE trim include adaptive headlights, a JBL audio system, a wireless charging pad, and integrated navigation.
With a sportier driving experience and aggressive looks, the 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback is a step in the right direction. However, from its disconnected steering to a multimedia system that’s logically laid out but slow to respond, there’s room for improvement. Add to that a cramped interior, and what you get is a compact hatchback that sacrifices practicality—what most consumers associate with hatchbacks—in favor of looks. This Corolla is an improvement over its predecessor, but it’s merely adequate. Toyota needs better tech for Android users and a less-disconnected driving experience to appeal to modern smartphone-wielding buyers.

Is the value of Bluetooth speakers under $100 worth our investment?
Bluetooth speakers are a great option for listeners who like to listen to music, podcasts, and audiobooks from their mobile devices wirelessly. Unlike speakers with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth-compatible speakers don’t rely on an internet connection to stream audio, which makes them a bit more portable. With so many Bluetooth speakers on the market, there are lots of quality speakers available at more affordable prices. Whether you like listening to music, communicating with a voice assistant, or bringing your audio outdoors, there’s a budget Bluetooth speaker that can meet your needs.
The right Bluetooth speaker under $100 is hard to find. Most of us don’t mind if a speaker that costs less than $20 breaks because it was “good enough” while it lasted. You might even be able to afford to replace it. But the point of no return is when you spend $100. It starts to become more of an investment, rather than an accessory for your phone. Bluetooth speakers under $100 need to be more than good enough, they need to be great.
As you should expect for this price-point, there needs to be a certain level of durability and quality to the product. These aren’t cheap, and though they’re not the most expensive or best-sounding speakers you’ll ever hear, you still want to get your money’s worth.
We’ve tested over 65 Bluetooth speakers, and below you’ll find our recommendations for the best Bluetooth speakers under $100. See also our recommendations for the best Bluetooth speakers, the best waterproof Bluetooth speakers, and the best cheap speakers.
Tumblr media
JBL Flip 4
JBL has remained consistent with its Flip series, standing as our pick among the best Bluetooth speakers under $100. The Flip 4 is very similar to the previous model (the JBL Flip 3), but it makes improvements in a few key areas. This speaker has an IPX7 rating so you can submerge it to one-meter depths for 30 minutes. Though, we’re not sure why you’d want to. Still, it’s good to know that if you drop it in the pool, you have some time before you have to go rescue it. Another positive is that the new Connect+ button lets you connect this speaker with up to 100 others to play music in sync. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t backward compatible with previous versions. If you have a JBL Flip 3 and were going to double up with the new Flip 4, you’re out of luck. Battery life is reported to be 12 hours with volume levels at 50%, but if you play music on max volume, you shouldn’t expect to get more than four — maybe five — hours out of it.
Tumblr media
JBL Flip 5
Some say that the JBL Flip 5 is the king of affordable Bluetooth speakers. I find it hard to argue with those statements since this tiny gadget pretty much caters to any audiophile on a budget. Even snobby audiophiles have been known to feel surprised by the sound quality when they heard it for the first time.
The speaker has an output of 20W. That’s more than impressive for its size and price. Obviously, you get that unique JBL signature sound that has set a high standard in the music industry for decades. The battery is beefier than ever at a whopping 4,800 mAh.
You can connect the speaker to two devices simultaneously (smartphones, tablets, etc.). This allows you to play music of different playlists and make sure that everyone’s entertained. Although the speaker does a good job of balancing the frequency spectrum and can be easily used as a cheap alternative to gaming headsets, the device truly shines in the great outdoors.
Why should you take it outside to get your money’s worth? — The Flip 5 has an IPX7 waterproof rating. If you’re no stranger to camping and survival equipment, then you know just how overkill this is.
But not all the money goes towards ensuring durability. The speaker can give you around 12 hours of playtime, which is very good considering all the other features. You also get compatibility with over 100 other JBL speakers if you want to amplify the sound even further. You also get a USB-C fast charging port now.
Last but not least, in terms of portability and style, you can’t ask for more. The end caps are now covered, which adds more durability and makes the unit look sleeker. And, at 7.1” x 2.7” small, you can’t really be concerned with carrying or placing the speaker anywhere.
Tumblr media
Tronsmart Force
Tronsmart may not be at the top of anyone’s list of audio equipment manufacturers but the Force speaker proves that brand names may not matter as much with these speakers (perhaps because there’s one country in the world that can manufacture stuff for less than all other countries).
The Tronsmart Force is a 40W speaker that comes with IPX7 waterproofing, voice assistant support, and amazing bass definition. The speaker has three preset modes which allow you to experience music just the way you want it.
If you’re all about that bass then the Extra Bass mode is for you. The low frequency definition really belies the size of the speaker. The 3D surround sound mode is another interesting choice that manages to bring some much-needed depth to the standard sound of outdoor speakers.
The speaker can also support a wide range of file formats including Flac, WAV, APE, and more. You can pair the speaker to your smartphone via Bluetooth or a standard 3.5mm cable connector.
This speaker also has a long-lasting battery. At 50% volume, you should be able to get up to 15 hours of playtime between charges.
The built-in microphone is something that I always appreciate in Bluetooth speakers. And, the compatibility with most smartphone voice assistants certainly adds a level of convenience to the device.
Last but not least, you can connect two Tronsmart Force speakers together to make a pair of stereo speakers. Besides the stereo imaging and soundstage, this should enhance the 3D equalizer mode even further and let you play even louder.
Tumblr media
Anker Soundcore Flare
Anker has a long-standing tradition of delivering quality affordable audio equipment. The Soundcore Bluetooth speaker has been listed on many “best of” lists before and it doesn’t look like it’s going to start losing popularity anytime soon.
The speaker is loaded with features. The dual drivers are positioned in a back-to-back design. This allows a wider sound projection and a better delivery of surround sound effect. The passive bass radiators further enhance the audio by giving it much needed richness and warmth.
Pairing is available and even though it can only pair with another speaker, this is always a nice feature in Bluetooth speakers. You can enhance the audio quality, boost the volume, and save battery at the same time, etc.
What’s also cool is the LED setup. If you’re old enough to miss pulsing and strobe stereos, you’ll satisfy your nostalgia with the Anker Soundcore. The speaker has various light shows to offer depending on the rhythm, and you can also customize the lighting to your liking.
Tumblr media
Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 2
The best Bluetooth speaker under $100 that we’ve tested is the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 2. This colorful Bluetooth speaker has a portable design, and it even has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, but we don’t test for this. You can pair it with up to two devices at the same time, which makes it easy to switch your audio source between your phone and your laptop.
It has balanced mid and treble ranges that can reproduce vocals and lead instruments clearly. While it struggles to reproduce low-bass, there’s an ‘Outdoor Mode’ EQ advertised to help with bass reproduction, though we don’t test for this. Thanks to its 360-degree design, it has an open and wide soundstage that can really immerse you in your favorite music.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t support voice assistants, which can be disappointing for some users. It doesn’t get very loud, and it doesn’t have a lot of sound customization options. However, if you’re looking for a more affordable Bluetooth speaker, it’s a solid choice.
How we chose the best Bluetooth speakers under $100
Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best Bluetooth speakers under $100 for most people to buy, according to their needs. We factor in the price (cheaper speakers win over pricier ones if the difference isn’t worth it), feedback from our visitors, and availability (no speakers that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).
If you would like to choose for yourself, here’s the list of all our reviews for Bluetooth speakers under $100. Be careful not to get caught up in the details. There are no perfect speakers. Personal taste, preference, and listening habits will matter more in your selection.

Sony SRS-XB41 Bluetooth Speaker Review

Sony recently refreshed its audio lineup in India with three new Bluetooth speakers and six pairs of wireless headphones. We have already reviewed the Sony WI-C300, which is the company’s most affordable pair of Bluetooth earphones to date. Now, we have the SRS-XB41 in for review, which is IP67 dust- and water-resistant and loaded with features designed to breathe life into parties.
The Sony SRS-XB41 is priced at Rs. 16,990 but can be found for around Rs. 14,500 online. We were quite impressed with the SRS-XB40’s powerful sound and battery life. Does the XB41 improve upon its predecessor? Let’s find out.
Sony SRS-XB41 design and features
The XB41 is quite bulky and heavy for a portable Bluetooth speaker. The entire unit has a fabric finish which not only looks premium but prevents the accumulation of dust. The build quality is top-notch and the SRS-XB41 feels well worth its Rs. 16,990 price tag. The front is clean and devoid of any buttons. There is an LED strip that runs along the top and bottom and wraps around the sides.
On the top of the unit, you will find the power button, Bluetooth pairing button, and playback and volume controls. There is also a button that triggers “Live mode”, which artificially increases the soundstage. These membrane buttons are hard to press and have little to no travel.
As the speaker is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, the inputs are protected by a flap at the back with a rubber gasket. There is a Micro-USB port and a DC input, both of which can be used to charge the speaker, although the latter option is much quicker. Additionally, there is a 3.5mm socket and a USB port through which you can use the speaker to charge your smartphone.
The flap also covers three additional buttons; one to check the battery status and trigger the lights, one to link another SRS-XB41 so you can listen to music in stereo, and one labelled ‘WPC’ which allows you to daisy-chain up to 99 of these speakers together. Sadly, we did not have multiple units on hand to test this feature.
The Sony SRS-XB41 supports Bluetooth 4.2 as well as NFC for quick pairing with a compatible device. Just tap a compatible phone on the NFC logo at the top and you are good to go.
Before we examine the sound quality in detail, we have to talk about the multitude of ‘party-friendly’ features that Sony has crammed inside this device. The LED lights can pulse in tune with your music, and in addition, the two 58mm drivers inside the enclosure also light up.
Everyone who saw the lighting effects was enthralled at first, but got tired of them soon enough. We can imagine this being a big hit at parties and nights out, but they are too attention-grabbing for day-to-day use. For those who prefer their speakers to keep a low profile, the lights can be disabled by long-pressing the battery button at the back. We found it odd for such a prominent feature to not be easier to control. The lights can also be managed via the Sony Music Centre app, which is hard to use and has a clunky interface.
The Party Booster function is also interesting. When turned on, you can tap the speaker to add a sound effect to whatever music you are listening. Hit it from the front, sides, top or bottom, and it produces different sound effects. While this feature is fun and allows you to become a make-believe DJ, it does comes across as gimmicky.
Then there is the Live Mode. This adds a 3D effect to music and artificially widens the soundstage. To give credit where it is due, the feature does audibly spread the sound across the room. However, it adds a considerable amount of echo and basically kicks the mids out of the sound mix. As a result, music sounds absolutely dreadful.

Sony SRS-XB41 performance and battery life
Sound-wise, the SRS-XB41 is decent but there isn’t a lot to write home about. The bass is tight and punchy, and does not hijack the sound mix entirely, but critical listeners will still find it a bit excessive. The soundstage (with Live Mode off) is also wide and open and the maximum volume is enough to fill even large rooms with sound. The mids are repressed and the level of detail you get is poor.
This lack of clarity becomes evident in densely layered tracks such as Radiohead’s Paranoid Android and John Mayer’s Gravity (Live), in which all the guitars just merge into one another. The highs are a bit of a mixed bag as well. While not as repressed as the mids, the highs do tend to get screechy and sibilant at high volumes. You can get better sounding speakers without any of the aforementioned frills such as the JBL Flip 4 and Ultimate Ears Boom 2 for less money.
The SRS-XB41 supports the high-quality LDAC codec, which is now widely available in multiple Android smartphones with 8.0 Oreo. This means you can stream music at the highest bit-rate currently available. This does help clarity to an extent and boosts the mids (learn more about Bluetooth streaming codecs like SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC). Call quality is average with the usual caveats that Bluetooth speakers entail – hollow sound and a slight echo on the receiver’s end.
Battery life is stellar. Sony claims 24 hours with the lights and all party-focused features disabled. We got around 18 hours of use on a single charge with the lights enabled for around 30 minutes in total, and with music playing at around the 60-70 percent volume level. We also demoed the Live Mode and Party Booster features for around 10 to 15 minutes.
A full charge using the included DC adapter took around 4 hours. The speaker can also be charged using a standard Micro-USB charger, but it would take significantly longer.
Verdict The Sony SRS-XB41 is waterproof and has terrific battery life. The LED lights and various party modes can be considered gimmicky, but help the speaker stand out from the crowd. However, the sound quality is a little bit underwhelming. While the bass is punchy and crisp and the highs are above average, the mids are repressed, and the sound that this speaker produces lacks clarity and detail.
The SRS-XB41 is a great option for party animals and those who value extravagance and volume over sound quality. It does not sound bad per se, but similarly priced options such as the JBL Flip 4 and Bose Soundlink Mini 2 deliver better detail and clarity.
Price: Rs. 16,999 (MRP)
Pros
Punchy bass

Light effects are cheesy but fun

Buying a Bluetooth Speaker? STOP and Read First about Amazon Echo!
Planning to buy a big sized Bluetooth speaker? Any good quality bigger size branded Bluetooth speaker like of Sony, JBL or Logitech comes with a starting price range of around Rs 7K-14K. And those works only as a Bluetooth speaker. But what if you get a smart device in the same price range and it may works as a Bluetooth speaker too. Won’t it be a great deal to pick that smart device rather? The device I am talking about here is Amazon Echo which is a smart speaker powered by Alexa. Alexa is an AI by Amazon which is wildly popular among families in developed countries and is used regularly on daily basis for many regular tasks.
In India, Amazon Echo, a new smart home hub was launched last year and till now, many geeks have bought it considering the fact that Amazon Echo comes from a giant like Amazon that they can trust, it has quite a handful of features and the price tag, which is probably the most aggressive thing Amazon has done! So, if you haven’t got one yet or confused about whether you should grab one or not, we are giving you 10 reasons to buy an Amazon Echo!
1. You can ask questions, and Echo is smart enough to answer them
All Amazon Echo devices are powered by Alexa, Amazon’s own AI Assistant. And with AI, it’s intelligent enough to answer questions. You can ask basic questions and it will surely answer, but, here’s a warning for those who think it’s a supercomputer capable of reading minds- If you ask questions like, “Will she break up with me?” I’m damn sure Echo will just return itself to Amazon.
2. You can shop!
Echo devices are connected to your Amazon Account and the Voice Shopping feature is enabled by default. So, you can ask Alexa to search for products. When you search for a product, it will show up the product on your phone as well and using Echo you can add it to your shopping cart or just order it right away. Also, if you save your payment methods on Amazon it can order anything instantly from Amazon or it will opt for payment via Amazon Pay balance or even cash on delivery.
3. Book a cab, get news, reserve a table at your favorite restaurant
This part is all about skills, that’s what Amazon calls it enterprise level solution that makes customers’ lives easier and hassle-free, also it saves a lot of time. If you are a business owner, you can build skills so that Echo can use it to take orders or respond. There are thousands of skill available with Echo and some of the best are probably from Ola and Uber, Zomato, Syska and many more.
4. You won’t forget anything
It has functions like alarms, reminders and to-do lists which is handy and it works better than a phone because it speaks out, rather than a sound and even if you’re not attentive enough, you know what you need to do. The shopping list is a feature that works flawlessly as you can keep adding things to the shopping list and while you move out, you can see the shopping list on your phone!
5. Scheduled Actions
This is a much-loved feature, not just by me but many others. Echo learns and can understand what you do every day at a certain time and through its understanding a light or fan can be set to turn on automatically or it can read out news to you while you get back home.
6. Works as a Bluetooth speaker
This is one of my favorite features as well, and this might be one of the reasons to buy an Amazon Echo. Echo doubles up as a Bluetooth speaker so you don’t need to buy another speaker for your bedroom or reading table if you want to enjoy some music. As mentioned earlier, one of the Alexa skills let you use Saavn & Amazon Music and play music which is very nice and may save you from spending more money on a Bluetooth speaker while you can already enjoy music on Echo!
If you’ve doubt of sound quality, I must say Echo has excellent sound quality and is very much comparable with other branded Bluetooth speakers in the same price range. The only downside is, Amazon Echo is NOT battery powered, so you’ll need a power source wherever you take it. If you want to use Echo at some remote place, you can configure its internet requirement using hotspot of your dongle or phone, as Echo is quick in connecting to familiar Wifi networks when available.
P.S: A Wifi network is required only when you want to use its smart features, otherwise once configured, you can use it as Bluetooth speaker anytime.
7. Can control lighting and fans at your home
Some manufacturers are making light bulbs, fans etc. that support Echo and using Echo you can turn them on or off using your voice. It can also schedule power on and off based on a schedule which is handy for many who stay outside due to work at specific periods and have quite a regular routine!
8. Free Calling & Messaging from Echo to Echo Devices
Calling feature is finally available in India too. So now if any friend, relative of yours own any Echo version device i.e Echo Dot, Echo or Echo Plus, you can call & message each other for free using the device. The biggest advantage is handsfree HD quality calling here.
9. It’s never too costly!
While products like Google Home or Apple Homepod are priced quite a bit, Echo is relatively dirt cheap! During the introductory offer, it sold for quite a low price tag and even now, if you compare the price of Echo devices with the prices of others, and also consider the feature and cross-platform support, Echo is the best and Apple’s Homepod is the worst. This is definitely one of the strongest reasons to buy an Amazon Echo.
10. You can place it anywhere as it’s small or can even carry it anywhere you like
Echo devices are not that big or will take a lot of cable work or hassle to set up. Also, Echo has the mobility that makes it perfect for a backyard barbeque or a small house party as you can just carry it anywhere, even in your car. However, for that, you should definitely have a power bank which, I guess everyone has these days!
11. Amazon Echo can help you go to sleep
Studies say that smartphone screens and PC screens are quite bad, and one should avoid them before sleeping! Amazon Echo can emit a beautiful pulse of dim light and can help you sleep while it plays relaxing ambient sounds of Ocean, Birds etc.
