he's just standing there. menacingly.
what was that about wanting to conserve his energy for someone who mattered?
well, THIS IS THAT MOMENT. adam's cracking his knuckles, cracking his neck and stalking toward alastor menacingly. he's not sure if he wants to punch or headbutt more, but both options sound good. way too good.
unfortunately, when adam gets close enough to the jazzhole, he stops, all thought going right out the window. instead, he points a finger, jabbing it into alastor's chest and opens his mouth.
“ fuck you, fuck the horse you rode in on, and fuck your stupid catchy jazz music. what do you want? ”
WAIT ― catchy?? where the hell did that word even come from? adam hadn't meant for it to slip out, but what bugs him even more is the fact that it's true, and he KNOWS alastor is going to pick up on it.
“ i'm not fucking listening to your music. ” he takes a hasty few steps back. “ no way man, that's lame. you're lame. ”

Jazzholes are a specific type of mediocre white guys who try to build their personality out of memorizing trivia and preaching sermons about jazz - as opposed to Scorsese films or craft beers. They love to recite the details of certain recordings - where they were recorded, who the musicians were, what other combos those musicians were in - and to mansplain how the musicians who made "free jazz" were not actually doing what they said they were doing.
"Free jazz isn't free" is jazzhole for "I can't just listen to music, so I'm going to dissect and label every bit of any given album, and make up a bunch of bullshit to strip the music of its raw spontaneity and chaotic beauty to puff up my fragile ego". Sometimes they start yapping about math - as if math was the foundation of reality instead of a language that people invented to explain things. Anything they can't wedge into a box they just wave away.
This one gets extra special jazzhole points for mispronouncing the name of one of the most famous free jazz musicians - Albert Ayler. It ain't like "Ayler" is complicated.
Fuck that shit.
Free jazz started as a way for black musicians to express their individuality and to give the finger to mediocre white men. Free improv took the premise of free jazz and went to the furthest possible extreme, using any possible sound-making implement and any possible approach. Free jazz and free improv are "tohu wa-bohu", formless and void - the state of pure chaos that existed before God began to create. Or they're as close as we can get to that.
If free jazz/free improv isn't free then why is it called that?
Also - Scorsese films aren't that great.

Bookstores in Nigeria
If you're looking for books in Nigeria, you can find some of the best deals online. However, before ordering your favourite books, consider the cost of the book, the quality of the book, and the delivery time. You can also check out the books that are available at various bookstores in Nigeria. In addition, you can order online if you don't have a chance to visit a store.
One of the largest cities in Nigeria, Lagos, is home to numerous bookstores. Here, you can get the latest in fiction and non-fiction, including titles written by African authors. Moreover, you can get books for all ages. There are also children's books and cookbooks. It's easy to purchase books online and have them delivered to your doorstep.
The BookMarket is one of the leading bookstores in the country. They have books on a wide range of subjects, including fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and literature. They are also known for organizing events to promote books and book culture. For instance, they organize four 'Books and Food' joints in the country. Currently, they are expanding to other cities.
Another bookstore in the city of Lagos is the Jazzhole, which specializes in literary works, music, and biographies of prominent figures, such as Fela Kuti and Venice. Customers can enjoy free bookmarks with their purchases.
Patabah Bookstore is another independent store that stocks African literature. This store has a physical location in the Adeniran Ogunsanya mall in Surulere. They have a large selection of books that cover a wide range of topics, including fiction, biography, and religion. They also offer gift items. Additionally, they offer a convenient payment option through KongaPay.
Another bookstore that has been around since 1999 is the Nigerian Bookseller. Their website offers a wide range of books on different subjects, including politics, history, religion, science, and technology. They also offer delivery services, which can be purchased with a debit card or through their social media platforms.
The Ake Arts and Book Festival is one of the biggest literary events in the country. They host several literary festivals throughout the year, and their goal is to improve the society through reading and writing. Several famous Nigerian authors participate in this festival, including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Lola Shoneyin, and Tabia Princewill.
Despite these challenges, some Bookstores in Nigeria are still thriving. As a matter of fact, the bookseller in Ibadan, Jemiyo Ariyo, has been working in the company for eleven years and has observed a dramatic decrease in the sale of fiction. But the big question is how to solve the problem of distribution? Perhaps, the solution could be a branch of the informal sector, which could involve smaller stalls in local markets or a more robust network of bookstores.
Although the book industry has been struggling in Nigeria, the country has produced some of the most acclaimed literary icons in the world. For example, Nigerian authors like Wole Soyinka and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

My roommate is a college student majoring in jazz composition. But based on the content of her history classes and professors, you'd think she was the first woman to ever even touch a saxophone.
Out of about 8 on staff, 1 is a woman.
At her juries (assessment of her playing) last week, one of the two (male) professors looked her up and down, including her chest, and told her she shouldve done her hair up.
The head of her department asked a graduating female senior if her music sucked, because “that would really be annoying for the musicians.”
For her history of jazz essay comparing two musicians from the bop age, her professor denied her permission to include a woman saxophonist on the grounds that bop wasn’t “in her vocabulary,” and she was “faking it, at best.” They have not covered one female musician so far in the semester, and we’ve hit midterms.
That’s just a sampler of her experience in the jazz comp major.
This kind of mindset is one of the reasons jazz is so unapproachable for the general public, especially women. It’s a toxic environment of dudes with superiority complexes who think the more notes you play, the more scholarly you are and the more worthy of praise. It makes nobody feel welcome.

So the Y is closed for the week, which means not only do I not have work, but I don’t have access to exercise stuff for the whole week.
So I’m going to have to try to do actual runs and body based exercises so that I’m not slacking too hard.
So last night, I was like... I have some energy left and some time, might as well do some push ups.
but oh no. the fucking cat is like... oh, you’re got half of yourself propped up? it’s time to go under you and demand pets!

Fake Ennead Quote:
Yugi: I wish there was a way to block someone in real life.
Anzu: Restraining Order
Katsuya: Fake your death, leave the country and change your name to Hugh Jazzhole.
Ba-Khu-Ra: Murder
-everyone stares-
Yugi: Bakura...
Ba-Khu-Ra: What? It works.

be polite. be efficient. have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
“ is everything death with you? ” adam gives alastor a strange look, wondering if it's worth zapping this creature.
on second thought, that actually sounds boring as hell right now. he'll settle for scooting away from the jazzhole and keeping a firm eye on him to make sure no funny business is had.
“ why not like. i dunno. smoke a bong and relax? fucking...you probably need it most. ”
