Jason starting to gradually feel much better when he moves to California. He has more energy to do things not just out of necessity, but also just for fun. He goes for a morning run because he enjoys it, not because he needs to stay in shape. He feels lighter and his skin is clearer and his entire body does not ache as much after a night out and he is just overall less moody.

The only downside is that he needs to wear sunglasses now all the time. He's never had to do that before. Anyway, it's all a mystery, really.

Get Used to Dying is, in my objectively correct opinion, THE Jason Todd fic. I have recommended it before, and it's still a masterpiece. It tells Jason's life in the format of a play, absolutely brilliant.

Sacrosanct is about jason & bruce's relationship, and i think just from bruce's pov, but I have to rec it on the ground of it just being *chefs kiss* also there is no "bruce is right and do you not know how he mourned you jason!! care more about bruces reaction to your death than your own plase :/" bs

here's some fics i found and my thoughts on them

Oneshot, Poly YJ98, implied birdflash, Tim Drake is Robin - Short and sweet, not much else to say. In this fic Conner and Robin pop up in yj98, confusion and then they're out. Not much is really explored between the universes it's mostly just squabbling about Bernard, who is in the polycule.

Unfinished 1 Ch - Pretty good but its unfinished and from the looks of it, seems it'll stay that way. The core four drop in and save the JL and what seems to be the team as well but we don't see much of them. Mostly just young just us flexing and kicking butt so there's not much conversation between people. Just wish it were finished.

Unfinished 1 Ch - It says on the tin 'Zatanna is trying out a new spell and summons the wrong "Young Justice"' so shenanigans ensue. A bit of banter, we get some reactions and conversation between the teams but its unfinished and seems to be dropped sadly.

2 Ch yj98 Timkon yj11 cassietim - Again, it says on the tin and so shenanigans ensue. Red Robin and Superboy fight a sorceress and end up in another universe. Mostly surrounds yj98 Tim and Kon's relationship and the differences from yj11 and there are some good ideas explored. I appreciate the secondary perspective from yj11 tim however the series feels unfinished.

Completed 3 Ch TimKon(Imp), BirdFlash, JayRoy - Multiple times where various couples find themselves in young justice 2011. Mostly surrounds the various relationships. A bit dialogue driven but also the characters are very affectionate, dare i say horny, so watch out.

Incomplete 3 Ch implied yj98 TimKon, Kon-El is Supernova (mentioned for a bit) - Tim and Kon find themselves in yj11 and make a deal with Catwoman and Batman to integrate into The Team to make their way back to their universe. Tim becomes Stray and Kon becomes Prime. Mentions of Tim's physical and mental health and is unfinished. It's currently a favourite on this list

Completed 19 Ch Damian Wayne is Robin, Dick Grayson is Batman Mention of TimKon - Damian is zapped into the Young Justice universe from a piece of alien technology and is forced to work with the Justice League and the Young Justice League to get back. Evidently, Damian comes from that point in time where Bruce is dead and Dick is Batman for a bit. This is a pretty good fic and it looks at the relationship between Dick and Damian.

Incomplete 29 Ch Implied TimKon, mentions of TimSteph, StephCass, every yj11 pairing - Tim washes up in yj11 and integrates into The Team as Alvin Draper/Rook so he can find his way home. Focuses on Tim and Conner as they cope with being in another universe and their own personal demons. There is also a gradual, one-sided Tim/yj11!Conner. I guess TimKon will forever be right person-wrong time

Incomplete 37 Ch - Robin gets hit with a beam and now alternate versions of Robin start appearing. A ton of characters show up like Carrie Kelly, Bruce Jr and Helena so i guess this isn't really like the scenario because Young Justice is only mentioned a few times but it's a pretty good fic. The League and the Team now have to cope with like 10 more Robins, all coming from different universes (so their worlds are going to be very different). There are also appearances from Kara/Supergirl and Starfire. This was last updated a few weeks ago so this may still be updating

Two short takes on soulmate tropes that have to go first because I love them so much, I love soulmate aus, Tim and Kon are soulmates, the end.

Where There's a Wish by LeeayreBeing Robin’s vessel is hard enough: the exhaustion, the life-threatening late night activities, the bruises and bullet holes and broken bones. Trying to hide all that from his incredibly suspicious, incredibly hot new roommate while maintaining his studies and placating his parents? Tim has never had it so hard. Especially since said roommate doesn’t actually know he’s Superboy.

So the setup for this is unusual, I'm not sure if it's based on anything but: superhero identities are Personas, independent (basically magical) personalities created by the wishes of a person or groups of people who act through hosts that have the will to manifest whatever that persona does. Basically: Robin is an independent persona, Tim shares his body with him and when Robin manifests the costume and all the gadgets appear. It's explained throughout the story, but just in case you start it and are like wtf is happening. This possibly should go in the thirds section because the actual pairings in this are: Robin/Tim, Red Robin/Tim, Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Superboy, and Red Robin/Superboy/Tim. Red Robin can also be kind of dubconny so watch out for that if it's a concern.

Wing Beats in Reverse by firefrightJason Todd is the third Robin, not the second, growing up in shadow of Tim Drake's death. Despite this, he still manages to form strong bonds with his new family. Especially Damian, who wishes to atone for his past mistakes with Jason's predecessor. But when he's fifteen, a mysterious red hooded figure kidnaps Jason from the rooftops of Gotham, and after that his life will never be the same again.

A Robin reversal AU (ie Damian is the eldest, Dick the youngest) that's Jason-centric but of course that doesn't lessen the Tim angst. Or the Kon angst when he finds out Tim is alive. Hopeful ending, but it doesn't fix everything.Other pairings: JayRoy, StephCass (barely)

Time Flies by by LaroyenaJon Kent is Superboy. Tim's gut instinct tells him that's wrong.(Timkon fix-it where reboot!Tim misses Kon like a phantom limb. And then he gets him back.)

Sometimes you just need to cry over the lack of Kon in your life and this fic provides the PERFECT excuse. Heartbreaking and then happy. (Also brings Colin back UNLIKE DC.)Other pairings: implied Clex

Not Completely Powerless After All by ChimaeraKittenNobody was quite prepared for the kid who runs the company to visit, but they manage, in fact, they might be pleasantly surprised; they weren't expecting him to be nice. Of course, they weren't expecting him to be a possible ninja either, but you gotta take the good with the bad.

Outsider POV!!! I have never watched Powerless so you definitely don't need to be familiar with it, this is just a glorious casefic told by someone who doesn’t know it’s a case.

Matters of the Heart by DMWith Clark off-world as an ambassador to Earth, Conner has to watch over Metropolis. Though it should be straightforward, there appears to be something amiss with seemingly random crimes happening around the city. Conner has a hunch that they’re connected and calls in his best friend to help. But as the two of them spend time together working the case, Conner realizes that his feelings for Tim might not be what he had thought.

A long casefic with feelings, basically everything I ever want.

Stumbling Home by bewaretheboojumIn his mid-twenties, Tim moves back to Gotham City after several years living abroad. He's feeling adrift, unfocused and a little off balance as he tries to re-establish a life in his home town.Kon is a fireman by day and superhero by night. When mysterious fires start cropping up in Metropolis, all signs point to arson. Who better to help him get to the bottom of this arson case than Tim? And really, it seems like Tim could use the distraction...

Another casefic with older TimKon. I didn't like the initial setup with Tim having abandoned his friends for years but it won me over in the end.

the honesty in your body by LaroyenaLuthor's tech saved Kon's life at the cost of his mind. Tim must take a feral Kon across space to restore his humanity... which is just as difficult as one may think.(Batman Omegaverse AU: unabashed TimKon porn detailing their original get-together in their early teens to their definite get-together in their late teens. Nowhere But Forward by MishaBerryIt shouldn't have happened the way it did.When Kon finds Tim in Paris, it leads to a night that neither of them will ever forget, for better or for worse. Tim is then forced to confront something he's been denying about himself for a very long time, and Kon begins to question some things about himself. The road ahead is full of twists and turns, but there's nowhere to go but forward.

I really love long fics, but tbh I found this started to drag a little towards the end. I still enjoy it overall with delicious Tim angst.

Perfect because Kon is an ACTUAL DRAGON though it does lean on his YJ cartoon characterization.

Summary:

The prequel and also sequel of The Thin Red (Blue) Line, which can be considered as a standalone story and I don't think is really necessary to read first in order to know what's going on in here. You could read it anytime if you'd like to know more about this AU (which would be much appreciated), but if you don't want any spoiler, you could just leave it until this whole story is finished.

In a universe which is quite like the Pre-52 comicverse but without (or with a lot less) super people, instead of dressing as a Bat, Bruce has joined the law enforcement in order to protect his city from crimes and is now a police commissioner; "Under the Hood/the Red Hood" isn't so much as a Batman's story but a Jason Todd's story co-starring Roy Harper, who is a great many things: an orphan, a Navajo, a former junkie, a cop, a very good friend and partner, and also, a father (to be).

The JayRoy cop AU absolutely nobody ever asks for and very few people care about, with loads of heavy elements and the nasty things everyone wants to forget about and the good things everyone actually seems to forget about from the Pre52.

I’m putting it here just in case anyone out there may be interested. There’s only about a part and a half left before it’s completed, and I’ll probably still finish it one way or another, it just really makes me sad seeing how little people are reading it.
