Mickey is horny. Mickey is really fucking horny. Out of his mind, he doesn't know which way is up, teenage freak kind of horny. Getting laid in juvie is a difficult job if he wants to keep his status of ‘not to be fucked with’, plus recovering from a taking a bullet in his leg means he can’t exactly approach anyone subtly (fuck you, Kash). Mickey didn’t think there would ever be a day that he would actually miss the shithole South Side, but he does. Fuck, Mickey thinks, being betrayed by your own subconscious fucking sucks. He needs to be laid by that freckly ginger fuck soon or he may actually lose his mind (what he has left of it, anyway). Until then though, it’s him and his trustly right hand alone. Resigning with a sigh, Mickey swings his legs over his bunk and jumps down deftly from the top.

‘Fuck you going?’ Jay, his roommate, asks absentmindedly from where he’s been throwing a ball against the wall and catching it on the other side of the room. Jay’s not one for useful recreational activities.

‘None of your fucking business that’s where’ Mickey snaps, grabbing his towel off the hook and swaggering out into the hall. He walks the short distance to the communal bathroom, it’s midday he should be alright, and locks the door behind him.

His trusty right hand indeed.

His knuckles sting as he runs them under cool water in the kitchen, he’s pretty certain he’s got some glass in there somewhere.

Fucking stupid.

‘The fuck happened to your hand?’ Iggy grunts from where he sits at the table, nursing a beer in one hand and a wad of cash in the other. Who the fuck is giving Iggy cash? Ignoring him, Mickey watches the blood mix in with the water as it gets sucked down the drain and into the sewers. He wishes he could go down with it, down below his house, below the sidewalk, below every single person who knows his name and get sucked into the drain of the fucking earth. Anything to stop the dull ache in his stomach, the ache that feels like someone has force fed him stones, weighing down his every step. The ache that constantly reminds him, no matter where he is or what he’s doing, of Ian fucking Gallagher. Ian, who he hasn’t seen or heard from in over a week, not since he stood in his doorway and told him he was fucking off to the army. Not since Mickey’s eyes stung with tears and ‘please don’t go, please don’t leave me, stay, stay, stay, stay’ threatened to fall out of his mouth and onto the floor between them.

‘Don’t what?’ Ian had asked, but Mickey knew what he really had been saying.

You know what the fuck I mean to you, Milkovich. Are you man enough to admit it? To make me stay?

No, he wasn’t, Mickey thinks darkly. The ache getting heavier at the recalled memory. Mandy had called him a pussy, she was right. He is a pussy, a pussy who allowed himself to get this fucked up over a boy, a boy he tells himself every single day that he doesn’t give a shit about.

He doesn’t know where the shift happened, where the thing with Ian went from banging to…to this emotional shit. Sometimes he feels so much he thinks he’ll drown in it, drown in what he feels for Ian, for men, for what he doesn’t feel towards women. What he should and shouldn’t feel. He doesn’t know when the shift happened but he knows there definitely was one. A moment of clarity, of something clicking into place between the two of them and the entire world changing. Was it the hot summer evenings they spent at the dugout? The hours in the Kash and Grab, between working and fucking? Was it those last few moments of ignorant bliss before his dad came crashing in and their false sense of security fell to the ground? He remembers every single fucking moment of that morning and it makes his skin crawl.

‘Asshole, you’re running up our water bill’

Mickey’s snapped back to the kitchen, the water still flowing out of the tap, though there’s no trace of blood left. His other hand grips tightly to the counter top, almost painfully. Lord fucking knows how long he’s been standing there lost, Iggy’s now gone and Mandy stands with a disgusted look on her face, leaning against the fridge.

‘Fuck off’ He grunts, turning off the running water and walking straight past her to his room, not looking back once.

6 months, 3 days, 2 hours and a handful of minutes, give or take a few, according to the scratches on Mickey’s bed post.

Over 6 fucking months since he last saw…Ian.

Mickey’s heart jumps right up into his throat at the realisation and he feels like he’s going to be sick. There’s a pain in his gut like someone has taken a knife to a vital organ and won’t stop slowly twisting it.

6 months, twist. 3 days, twist. 2 hours, twist.

And no fucking Ian.

He knew he’d been kidding himself when he asked Ian to visit him, but this is just cruel. There was a part of him during the first few months that he’d hoped he’d be wrong, that little flicker of hope that perhaps Ian would come to his senses. Maybe his meds would level out, the mania controlled and he’d be on the next bus over to visit. But he hasn’t heard from him, not even a call. It’s humiliating to think about the amount of time Mickey just spent waiting, like a fucking dog for his owner or a 1950s housewife. He’s not a fucking housewife. He’s seen more of his estranged wife and his kid - if it even is his kid - than he has Ian. Mandy hasn’t even been by more than once to check in on him, he hasn’t heard from anyone else either. Not Fiona, not Debbie and sure as hell not Lip, but fuck, who can blame him for being disappointed? He’d clearly managed to kid himself into a false sense of…something, at least. Family? Friends? Fuck knows what, but he’s never doing it again. Love and it’s bullshit.

Lying there on his shitty prison mattress, all he can think of is Ian’s face behind that glass, reserved and disconnected, having to be paid to even come and see him. As if Mickey hadn’t dropped absolutely everything certain in his life to be by his side, to be with him, to be allowed to love him. And the worst fucking thing? He’d do it again, a thousand times over. He knows that if Ian turned up today, smiling and flirting like he always used to, all of that would be water under the bridge. He had always been told that love makes you crazy, but no one ever told Mickey that it makes you fucking stupid too.

Fuck, he misses him. He loves him and he always will with every single fibre of his being, every bone and every atom.

I love you. The hell does that even mean?

Twist, twist, twist.

mexico

He’s been working closely with a few guys the last couple of weeks, dealing and selling, working the streets here and there. Mickey tries not to stay in one place for too long, doesn’t make friends, doesn’t own much shit. It works for him. He’s safe here, but only if he keeps it that way.

‘You ready?’ Emiliano asks from the front seat, a lit cigarette hanging from his bottom lip. Jose is passed out in the passenger seat, feet up high on the dashboard and lightly snoring.

‘Yeah’ Mickey grunts in reply, adjusting the sunglasses on his face, carefully minding the bruising under his left eye. He’d managed to get into a shit faced drunk bar fight last night and gained himself a punch to the face and a kick in the groin before he was pulled off the guy. This American guy a table over had been shit talking for hours, Mickey doesn’t even remember (or give a fuck) what it was mostly about. He does remember, however, him spitting out ‘fags’ at these two other guys who’d been standing innocently next to each other at the bar. Mickey didn’t even know if they were together, or if they had just happened to be standing there at the same moment. That was what sealed the deal for Mickey, leaping over the table and going straight for the fucker’s nose.

He reaches into his pockets for a cigarette and lights it as it balances between his lips. They’re driving further South to another city where their boss has some connections he wants to solidify, apparently they’ve not done business in a while so he’s sending Mickey down there to start off some talks. It makes Mickey feel like an important part of the operation, as if he was needed, but, he also knows it’s because if he ended up dead in a basement with a bullet in his skull, they wouldn’t feel like they lost one of their own. He gets it, whatever.

‘You miss America?’

His stomach jolts and the car suddenly feels too hot. The sun is powerful, it burns directly through the window and onto Mickey’s skin.

‘What stupid fucking question is that?’

Does he miss America? Does he miss being on the run? Prison? Having absolutely no one?

Well, not no one.

‘Your home, do you miss it?’ Emiliano catches Mickey’s eyes in the mirror, and even though he’s wearing sunglasses Mickey shifts his gaze uncomfortably to the moving road out of the window. Fuck feeling like he’s under a microscope.

‘No I don’t fucking miss America, ain’t got no home there’ He mutters, taking a drag and blowing the smoke out into the air.

‘You ain’t got a girl there?’

Mickey barks out an exasperated laugh which leaves a sour taste in his mouth.

‘No girl’ He spits bitterly, hoping Emiliano gets bored of this game of 21 questions he seems to be playing and move the fuck on.

‘No girl, dawg? So coming here was pretty easy for you then, yeah? You wanted that Mexican sunshine!’

He snorts. Easy isn’t exactly how Mickey would put it. Ripping your heart out of your chest with your bare hands and stomping on it a few hundred times before feeding it to a pack of wild dogs is probably how Mickey would put it.

There is nothing easy about thinking you’d finally fucking make it across the finish line and having it taken away from you almost instantly. There is nothing easy about the man you have loved since you were a kid telling you that he loves you but he can’t come with you. There is nothing easy about kissing him desperately at the border, begging with every touch that he’d change his mind but he doesn’t. Driving across the border alone, leaving the only person you’ve ever actually loved behind isn’t fucking easy.

Loving Ian Gallagher is easy, though. Once he let himself given in, once he finally faced those feelings head on and gave himself permission, it was easy. Deep down, it’s always been easy. It was the rest of the shit in their lives that wasn’t. Mexico was supposed to be their paradise, their freedom together but instead Mickey is here, alone. Forever.

He doesn’t know when he’ll see Ian again, but fuck, he knows that he loves him.

prison (again)

Mickey keeps his eyes on Ian until he sees him disappear around the corner and out of sight. Out into the world a free man, back to Chicago and his fucked up family. That’s where he belongs, that’s where he’s always belonged. Not in here, not locked up like an animal surrounded by criminals. Mickey’s heart pounds, it feels like it’s threatening to pump itself right out of his chest and spill directly out onto the floor. He knows he’ll be getting his new roommate assignment soon, some new guy will be sleeping in Ian’s bed, ruining the little world they created for themselves here. He knows missing their prison life is ridiculous, because who the fuck has a good time in prison? But it was the first time in their sorry lives that they could just be together. No homophobic dads, no out of control mental illnesses, no need to run to run away - if they could run away.

Mickey knew rolling on the cartel for Ian was a big decision, he knew that Ian’s crime was a lesser one that his and there was a possibility for him to get out earlier than him. He knew it deep down all along, except he really thought that perhaps the universe would be kind to him, just this once, and let them have longer together. Apparently not. Everyone else is allowed to be with the people they love but not Mickey Milkovich, not at all. It feels all they fucking do is say goodbye to one another.

His hands start to shake, and fuck, he misses him already. It’s ridiculous, they’ve gone months and months without contact, they’ve been in different countries and states without hearing a word from one another and yet this is hurting his chest like no other goodbye before. Was it the false sense of safety they’d created for themselves? Was it kidding themselves that they finally had this, after all their literal years of waiting.

Mickey hangs onto their goodbye from a few moments before, or had it already been hours? He doesn’t know, he’s not taken his eyes off the last spot he saw Ian before he left, left Mickey, left them behind.

Shut the fuck up, he begs himself, this time is going to be different. He knows that, he knows that they are still them, even if Ian is out there and Mickey is in here. Ian isn’t about to go find some other guy to shack up with whilst Mickey does his time, he knows that. Or at least he thinks he does. He hopes he does. Still, he can’t help but be reminded of every other time he’s been lulled into a false sense of hope by Ian Gallagher. Mickey loves him regardless but boy, does he have a talent for breaking Mickey’s heart.

This time will be different, he repeats, finally pulling himself away from the glass window. He turns reluctantly to look at their beds, Ian’s one looking hauntingly empty whilst it awaits its new owner. The thought of climbing into his empty bed tonight without Ian on top of him is depressing, and though they rarely actually slept alone, it was nice to always know he wasn’t far away. He’d been far away for too long.

Last night they lay tangled in Ian’s sheets, sweaty and spent but momentarily content in each other’s arms. The moment passed and the next morning’s event dawned on them both quite quickly. Mickey failed to hold back the threatening tears as he whispered his love against Ian’s neck in the dark.

‘I love you, I never want to be apart from you’

‘I know Mick, I know. I love you too’ Ian tightened his grip around Mickey as he kissed the top of his head, bringing him in as close as he could. ‘It won’t be long’.

Mickey sighs and climbs up onto Ian’s empty bed, fuck it, if Ian isn’t the one sleeping here then definitely no stranger will be. He hates top bunks but he knows he’ll lose his mind if he stays down below. He’s only ever been on the bottom for Ian, so why change that now?

He sniggers quietly at his own stupid joke, before rolling over solomly to face away from the door. His chest hurts, his heart hurts, his fucking everything hurts. He closes his eyes and imagines Ian is still next to him, like he used to when he was here the first time or when he was down in Mexico. He’s used to loving Ian from afar.

It won’t be long.

They really should’ve let Mickey murder that fucker when he wanted to because he’s getting real tired of his relentless shit. They’re covered in feathers, lying naked on the floor of their honeymoon suite, hearts racing from almost being shot rather than the sex they were about to have.

‘Your fucking Dad’ Ian laughs at the ridiculousness of it all, rolling over to give Mickey a hand getting up.

‘Ay, you should’ve let me shoot him like I wanted, at least we would’ve been able to bang on our honeymoon in peace’ Mickey snips back, attempting and failing to shake off as many of the feathers as he can.

‘We’ve definitely had the chance to bang in peace’

‘Then why aren’t we banging right now?’

‘Fair point’ Ian grabs Mickey by the hips and pulls him closer, man handling him in the way he knows his husband likes it. Ian cups the back of his head and brings Mickey’s lips to his, softly then with more pressure. They kiss slowly before Mickey pulls back, clearly still distracted by his father being a homicidal maniac.

‘Fuck, I want him dead.’ Mickey searches Ian’s eyes in hopes of meeting him halfway and knowing that this is the only way that they will be able to be together like they’ve always wanted. Christ, they’re fucking married for fucksake and it’s still not enough for the universe to let them be.

‘I know you do, Mick. If there’s any fucker that deserves to be murdered it’s him but-’

‘But what?’ Mickey snaps,

‘We’re married, you’re my husband and I can’t let you be thrown in prison when I just got you back’ Ian says, brushing his fingers softly through Mickey’s hair to get the remaining few feathers out. ‘We’ve been apart for so fucking long, so let’s just have this. Now. We’ll figure out a way to deal with Terry, I promise we will.’

Mickey softens, his heart stuttering in his chest as the urgency to carry out Terry’s immediate death ebbs away. He takes a deep breath and rests his forehead against Ian’s, pulling him in.

‘I love you.’ He whispers, and fuck he will never get used to the freedom he feels every single time he gets to say that to him without fear. Fear for his life, fear he wouldn’t hear it back, fear he would never get the chance to hear it back.

‘I’ve loved you since I was 15 years old, Mickey Milkovich, your father isn’t going to change that’ Ian softly replies, pressing a kiss lightly to Mickey’s lips.

‘Ay, that’s Gallagher to you’ Mickey mumbles, pulling back. They haven’t had that particular conversation about the name thing yet so it’s mainly supposed to come off as a joke.

‘Mickey Gallagher’ Ian laughs, testing the feeling of the new name out in his mouth. ‘I think I like the sound of that’

‘Ian Milkovich?’ Mickey suggests, giving Ian a knowing look, ‘Dad would love that’.

Both boys laugh softly, they know that Terry would probably burn down the entire South Side if that ever happened. Perhaps that’s all the more reason to do the name change, in hopes that it gives the old bastard a heart attack or some shit. Mickey could only dream.

‘Come’ Ian says, grabbing Mickey by the arm and leading him back to the bed in the centre of the room. It’s covered in all sorts of crap from the bullets but with a quick swipe Ian manages to send most of it to the floor. He flops straight down on the bed and pulls Mickey down on top of him.

This is it. This is what Mickey has been craving for years, the chance to lie in Ian’s arms without a timer on his back or anything else looming horribly over them. He knows they’ll have to deal with Terry soon, because Milkovichs don’t give up, but right now, he’s allowed to have this. He doesn’t know what his new name will be or whether or not they’re gonna move back into the Gallagher house or if Terry’s going to drive by in 2 minutes with another round of ammo. What he does know, and he knows this for a fact, is he is never fucking letting go of the man beside him. It’s also nice to know that Ian isn’t planning on letting him go any time soon either, which sadly shouldn’t come as much as a relief as it does. It’s hard to not think about everything as temporary when it’s felt like most of his life has been stuck on pause.

Mickey shuffles around slightly so he can lie comfortably on Ian’s chest, his hand resting softly on his rib cage. He can feel Ian breathing in and out, rhythmically up and down. He’s safe. They’re safe. They’re together. They can just be.

‘What’re you thinking so hard about?’ Ian asks, his hand coming up to rest gently on the top of Mickey’s, their rings aligning perfectly.

‘You’ Mickey replies, ‘Always you’.

not to sound like a libtard snowflake but they can have some bad takes. in the fanatic hitb they'd make little comments about mental illness that felt weird, and they made some point about spiderman homecoming having forced representation since the school students were diverse. (also hearing jay say fag in older hitb's is a little jarring, but it was a different time so whatever)

I didn’t remember the spiderman comment, so I went back and looked for it, and yeah, it’s a tiny bit off color. I tend to give it a pass personally because the diversity aspect clearly didn’t affect their enjoyment at all; it’s not like they liked the movie less because there were POC kids in it, you know? But I am white as hell, so it’s not for me to adjudicate.

I’d have to watch the fanatic episode again to remember the comments they made. I remember feeling like, hmm, don’t know how people will react to this episode because it dealt with mental disabilities, but i don’t remember specifics. i dunno, there are always seemingly a hundred takes about why x perspective is bad and then a hundred more takes about why x perspective is actually good and it’s the y perspective that’s the REAL bad one. I try to stay out of those spaces, they’re exhausting to me.

and oh boy. their early episodes are, uh. WILD. remember how in the first dozen or so episodes of hitb the fuckbot comes in and rapes both of them? yeah. 2011-2012 was SUCH a different time in terms of youtube comedy. it’s tough because i grew up conservative and said/believed a lot of things that i find abhorrent now, so i try to give people a lot of grace and room to grow out of their shittiness. it is still very jarring, though, you’re right.

Todrick Hall

Todrick Hall (born April 4, 1985) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, director, choreographer and YouTuber. He first gained national attention on the 9th season of the reality singing competition American Idol, where he made it to the semi-finals. Following this, he amassed a following on YouTube with multiple viral videos including original songs, parodies, and skits. A documentary series about his video-making process titled Todrick aired on MTV in 2015.

Starting with season 8, Hall became a resident choreographer on RuPaul's Drag Race, and occasional judge. From 2016 to 2017, Hall starred as Lola in Kinky Boots on Broadway. Later in 2017, he began appearances as Billy Flynn in Chicago on Broadway and the West End.

As a singer-songwriter he has released three studio albums, including the visual albums Straight Outta Oz (2016) and Forbidden (2018).

Todrick Hall was born in Plainview, Texas, on April 4, 1985. His family consists of his mother, father, one brother, and a stepfather. He knew he was different, he liked playing with dolls, and worried if they would still accept him if he turned out to be one of those gay people they made fun of on television. Hall began studying ballet at nine-years-old, and later worked with Fantasia in The Color Purple. He came out as gay to his family when he was fifteen; it took them a few years to accept. He also appeared in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and performed with Royal Caribbean, Holland America Line, and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Career

2009–2010: American Idol

On August 24, 2009, Hall auditioned to the ninth season of American Idol in Dallas, Texas. He sang a self-composed song mentioning the judges – Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and guest judge Joe Jonas – to plead his case for inclusion in the program. All four judges approved of his participation; he went into Hollywood week and eventually the semi-finals. In the Top 24, he sang Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" and in the Top 20, he performed Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do with It". He was eliminated in the Top 16 on 11 March 2010 after his rendition of Queen's "Somebody to Love;" he was one of four contestants eliminated in that round, and thus ranked between 13th and 16th overall.

2011–2013: Career growth and YouTube fame

Hall joined YouTube on May 27, 2006, and posted his first video to the site, a performance of "It's Hard to Say Goodbye", in 2008. In following years, his audience has grown considerably: as of June, 2019, Hall currently has 3.1 million subscribers on YouTube, and as of March 2018, his videos have been viewed 531.9 million times. Hall's videos include several of his own original songs and music videos, choreographed flash mobs for Ariana Grande and Beyoncé performed in an actual Target store, (the latter of which Beyoncé personally recognized Hall for), musical collaborations with Pentatonix, and personal updates.

In May 2011, he released a video audition for the third season of Glee titled "I Wanna Be on Glee", for possible inclusion in the show. Though the video was popular, Hall was not cast in the program.In November 2013, Virgin America produced a pop-music safety video directed by Jon M. Chu with music by Jean-Yves Decornet. Hall wrote the song and lyrics and starred in the video.

In December 2013, Hall released a Christmas album entitled Dear Santa, with covers of "This Christmas" and "Sleigh Bells", produced by wiidope as well as original songs "So Cold" and "SplitsOnXmasTrees".

2014–2015: Pop Star High and Todrick docuseries

From April 1 to May 13, 2014, Hall released an eight episode web series on his YouTube channel called Pop Star High. The series takes place in a world where all of the most famous Pop Stars of our day all went to high school together. The series portrays and parodies pop stars like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Tyga, and draws on the tropes of high school comedy movies. The soundtrack for the series was released on April 1, 2014.

On October 22, 2014, MTV announced Todrick, a docuseries following Hall, would premiere in 2015. On 20 December 2014, Hall produced and appeared in a commercial for the series and featured other celebrities' holiday wishes. Eight episodes of the docuseries were ordered and aired throughout 2015. The soundtrack for the show was released on October 13, 2015.

In October 2015, he was picked as Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month and was featured on NBC's Today show hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb and broadcast nationally where he performed live his single "Wind It Up".

2016–2017: Straight Outta Oz, Broadway, and RuPaul's Drag Race

Hall appeared as a guest judge on the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race; the episode, which featured a Wizard of Oz-inspired challenge, first aired on April 11, 2016. Hall reappeared as a full-time judge for RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 2 later in 2016 and again for the ninth season aired throughout 2017.

Along with Drag Race, Hall frequently appeared on Logo TV's game show Gay for Play Game Show Starring RuPaul alongside other celebrities. A second Season of Gay for Play is expected.

On June 23, 2016, Todrick self-released his second album, Straight Outta Oz. Straight Outta Oz is a visual concept album that uses the imagery of The Wizard of Oz to explore Todrick's own life and rise to fame. The project's first video was posted to YouTube on June 23, 2016 as well. Shortly thereafter, Hall announced the Straight Outta Oz Tour to promote the album. The tour originally ran between July 7, and August 12, 2016 in the United States and Canada.

The Straight Outta Oz Tour was interrupted by Hall's casting in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots. Hall starred as Lola, a drag queen cabaret performer. Hall's performance was well received by critics. He performed as Lola from November 1, 2016, to March 1, 2017.

The Straight Outta Oz Tour was revived in 2017 and ran between March 30, and June 5, in various North American, European, and Australian locations. It was accompanied by an expanded deluxe edition that included songs that were featured on the tour but not on the original version of the album. Additionally, the album included an extended version and new video for "Wrong Bitch" featuring Bob the Drag Queen, and a rerecorded version of Todrick's previous single "Low" featuring RuPaul.

In August 2017, he had a cameo as a back-up dancer in the music video for Taylor Swift's song, "Look What You Made Me Do".

From November 30, 2017, to January 14, 2018, played Billy Flynn in a limited engagement role in Chicago. During his tenure, the show had its best-grossing week in its 21-year Broadway history.

In December he released the documentary film Behind the Curtain about the production behind Straight Outta Oz. It was screened in select theatres and later released on home video. Later that month he had a guest appearance in the Bob's Burgers Season 8 episode "The Bleakening" as drag queen Miss Triple-Xmas (or Cleavage to Beaver) performing the song "Twinkly Lights". He also released a medley of covers of songs from the Pitch Perfect film series that was featured on the Pitch Perfect 3 Special Edition soundtrack.

2018–present: Forbidden, Haus Party & The Greatest Dancer

In March 2018 he announced his new visual album follow-up to Straight Outta Oz called Forbidden. It was released on March 27, 2018. To promote the album, Hall embarked on Forbidden: The Tour across the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

On May 15, 2019, Hall revealed that he will be releasing a trilogy of extended plays to be released across the next six months. The first EP, Haus Party, Pt. 1, was released on May 23, 2019. The first single "Glitter" was released with the album pre-order on May 16, 2019. It also featured Hall's first big hit "Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels." The EPs will be supported by the Haus Party World Tour. While it was originally announced that Part Two would be released in July followed by Party Three in September 2019, the release of Haus Party, Pt. 2 was delayed to September 19, 2019.. It was supported by the singles "Wig", "Fag", and "Dripeesha" (featuring Tiffany Haddish). Part Three was originally announced to be released on October 30, 2019, then November 27. It was put up for pre-order on January 10, 2020 with two singles available, "Blue" and "Pink Dreams", and an announced release date of February 14, 2020. However, this was later pushed back to May 1, 2020.

On June 17, 2019, Hall appeared in the music video for singer-songwriter Taylor Swift's song "You Need to Calm Down"; he co-executive produced the video with Swift. On June 19, 2019, Hall announced that he will be returning to Broadway to play Ogie Anhorn in the musical Waitress opposite friend Colleen Ballinger, who will be making her Broadway debut as Dawn Williams from August 20 until September 15.

In August 2019 he joined the panel of Dance Captains for the second series of The Greatest Dancer alongside the other Dance Captains Cheryl, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison. The series aired on BBC One in January 2020.

Artistry

Hall is a baritenor with a soulful, expressive voice, including falsetto; in addition to a singer, Hall is also a rapper. The genre of his works include R&B, pop, hip hop, neo-soul, funk, and musical theatre. Many of his lyrics include elements of social commentary, such as gun violence in and against black communities in "Water Guns" (featuring Jordin Sparks), acceptance of interracial relationships in "Color" (featuring Jay Armstrong Johnson) and queer culture; Hall writes and produces much of his own music with Jeeve Ducornet and wiidope. Hall also posts musical tributes to his favorite musical artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. These tributes feature elaborately-produced mashups of the artists' songs sung by Hall.

Hall's music videos often feature extravagant production value not typically associated with artists outside major labels. Hall's videos often include bespoke costumes and urban fashion, elaborate sets, and extensive choreography, much of which is designed or created by Hall himself. He frequently directs his own videos as well. As part of his style, many of Hall's music videos include drag as a central component, either featuring Hall in drag himself or famous drag queens including RuPaul, Bob the Drag Queen, Willam Belli, and Alaska Thunderfuck, among others.

My post wasn’t about making fun of David Jay. Go right ahead and do that if you want. Hell, I don’t even really like him because you’re right, he’s not a good person. But exclusionists continually using him as their “gotcha” because, “this “cieHET” ace is the one who made the asexual community!!!!” is misinformation. He isn’t, as far as I know, het, and he’s also not the one who came up with asexuality, the asexual community, or aspec inclusion.

“asexuality isn’t about sex!” okay, then what is it about? “asexuality is about not being able to feel sexual attraction!” so asexuals don’t want to have sex? “well, asexuals can have sex.” so they’re just not interested in having sex? “asexuals can be interested in having sex! they can also have a libido and masturbate!” so where does the relevance of not feeling sexual attraction come in? “because ‘allosexuals’ experience sexual attraction, but asexuals don’t!” okay, so what does that have to do with being lgbt? “because everyone is expected to experience sexual attraction - ”

this is essentially where any of the ace discourse posts boil down to. and it’s very annoying, because a lot of ace “inclusionists” don’t respond or talk about this so-called “allonormativity,” which, once again, cannot be applied to a lot of desexualized demographics, such as fat people, disabled people, and certain pocs.

you need to ask yourself: what exactly is expected of you in a world the benefits cishet white anglo-saxon protestant able-bodied rich men? is it really sexual attraction in general, or does it have something to do with heternormativity, white supremacy, ableism, or the patriarchy? i’m pretty sure it’s the latter, but a lot of the ace inclusionist discussions take place as if sexuality exists in a vacuum and not in tandem with these aspects of actual oppression.

aside from this kind of bad discussion about defining asexuality as exemplified above, you need to realize that oppression doesn’t exist just because you say it does. i already have a post about why “aphobia” isn’t like any other form of oppression and therefore doesn’t exist, so i’m just going to leave it at this: what are you trying to accomplish with your movement? the lgbt community does not exist just for “visibility;” not just because people don’t understand who we are and how we work. we are not weird, not “different,” and don’t just need people to know that we exist. we need people - our oppressors - to stop killing us, to stop stripping us of our rights at an institutional basis, to stop calling our apparent lifestyle as a sin, to stop preventing us from seeing loved ones, to care about when an epidemic is killing us and actively provide us healthcare instead of vilifying and stigmatizing our lifestyle as somehow sinful and wrong and that we deserve it.

no, no type of oppression is always the same, but it should not center around a discussion of proving this type of oppression exists; it should not be based on anecdotal evidence, which a lot of the arguments do depend on. there is no contextual logic in tandem of every other aspect of oppression - all axes of oppression exist together, which is why intersectionality is often discussed with regards to racism, ableism, feminism, and many other -isms.

in addition to asexuality being reevaluated as an identity as compared to varying sex drives and experiences with sexual attraction/sexuality, we also need to reestablish the world in which oppression exists with every other aspect of asexuality. is the stigmatization of asexuality a product of other forms of oppression (such as bullying and varying types of assault - which are used as weapons and not fundamental problems as themselves) or actual oppression, which is rooted in usually a historical, fundamental basis as it comes in and of itself, such as gay sex and gender roles that enforce the patriarchy and toxic masculinity? all arguments i’ve seen for it on this site only show examples of how asexuality has been weaponized against women, disabled people, people of color, gnc people, and lgbpq people - you need to tell me how david jay, the cishet white anglo-sax protestant man who wanted to put the word “fag” in his community’s lgbt acronym is somehow oppressed on the basis of his asexuality.

Yikes! Im watching HITB from the beginning and wow, some of these episodes are very cringey. I just watched a very early one and jay literally says the word 'fagshenanigans' and its also written on the screen under his face. i was shocked! I dont hold it against them because 2011 internet was very different than today, and so are they, but YIKES! I just... wow.

Ah yes the fabled fagshenanigans. Wasn't there a post discussing that like "will we give Jay an honorary pass to be allowed to say fag" or something like that and it was referring to that bit.

I'm like yeah a lesbian but my native language isn't english, I don't think I'll ever truly know the nuances and the history of that word really well, and although we have similar ones they can't ever be true equivalents so I can't say anything about this. I don't even know if I'm in the position to say it/reclaim it considering it's also rarely used against gay women from my understanding but I guess that goes into too much irrelevant detail for you

From what I remember the context was them complaining about a joke where there was a gay panic moment right? Where two dudes were in one bathroom stall together and then Jay said the people outside were worried 'fagshenanigans' were going on. I dislike those jokes as well so I think they were right in pointing it out as bad, but sure they could've uh worded the disdain for the joke better lol

When we were younger, everyone heard the idiom, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” As grew older we realized that phrase was not true. We know now that words can hurt. Most people seem to know what words hurt and avoid saying them when needed. Yet, there are words and phrases people use despite knowledge that they cause harm. Words and phrases such as “faggot”, “dyke”, “That’s so gay” and many more. These words have increased in usage a Manhattan High and it is only appropriate that the student body be informed of the harm they could be causing others who hear them.

In an article posted to the American Psychological Association, Kevin L. Nadal, associate professor of psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, of wrote about microaggressions with a focus on the LGBT+ community.

“Microaggressions are the everyday encounters of subtle discrimination that people of various marginalized groups experience throughout their lives,” Nadal said.

Sometimes these acts are done without knowledge or intent. This is something that plagues many of us without realizing it. Studying the effects of microaggressions on LGBT+ individuals with colleagues Melissa Corpus and David Rivera, they saw that ⅔ of LGBT+ high school students felt unsafe in their environment due to the usage of homophobic and transphobic terminology. They linked to other studies that showed people’s negative words was a major cause of depression, psychological distress and possible physical health issues that could be traced to stress. These transgressions pile up and could lead to suicide, which, according to an article updated in March by the CDC, found that LGBT+ students were more than twice as likely to commit suicide when compared to heterosexual peers due to verbal and/or physical violence.

People may not realize it, but the hurt does not only happen at school but it could happen at home as well. The fact that the verbal goes on in school only piles onto the stress that could be affecting a person. According to psychologist Michael Friedman, 85% of LGBT+ people are verbally abused at school. Most may not think this but simple words can be abusive with or without intention. Throwing words like “faggot”, “fairy”, “butch” and more are, in fact, abusive words. They are thrown around by celebrities as if they are nothing but they are something. They are words that shows the disregard shown to the queer population over centuries. Using those words despite being asked to stop is abuse and disrespect to that person. No one knows another story without being told. If someone asks for a word not to be said because they find it offensive, stop saying it. Pure and simple. Don’t go and use other, equally, offensive words to replace the one blocked. That is not how it works. Unless you are in the LGBT+ community, you have no rights to those words. Before anything is said, no. Allies are not included in having any rights to use offensive words. Even queer people don’t always have a claim to these words.

Now, students are not the only ones who have been causing this problem. School faculty has played a role in encouraging this behavior by not stopping it. According to our school handbook, MHS’ mission is to “ equip all students to become successful, productive citizens” with two ways to accomplish said mission being to “provide a safe and secure learning environment” and “support each students’ social and emotional growth.” Words that are condemned by most of the LGBT+ community can have devastating consequences to queer students if they hear them. According to “A Psychosocial Perspective on Violence and Youth,” written by A.R D'Augelli and L. J. Dark, queer students are put at risk because they do not seek support from faculty due to the belief that staff may be intolerant and not provide confidential help. In the “From Teasing to Torment: School Climate in America, A Survey of Students and Teachers,” published by GLSEN, four out of five students knew that they did not have any support at their respective schools. Now put this into perspective at our school. Students are careful to not say such things in front of staff but there have been instances where derogatory terms are used in front of faculty but nothing is done. Lack of reaction or quick put down of the use of derogatory queer words shows LGBT+ students that faculty really do not care. It shows that the support at MHS is lacking. How can the school expect to support a student’s emotional growth if actions like this are left unpunished? How can the school provide a safe learning environment if they allow hurtful actions like this, no matter how small, be openly shown? Let us not forget the queer students who refuse to participate in sports due to the overuse of such words and people being scared to share a locker room with queers, which is an unlawful discrimination according to the 2016 Title IX Department of Justice and Department of Education letter which states that schools must, “provide an environment free of harassment.” Having students be afraid to join a school activity due to verbal harassment is in direct violation of this Title IX viewing.

MHS is certainly one of the most supporting school I have seen but there is so much room for improvement here. Stopping words like “faggot/fag,” “dyke,” “That’s so gay,” and “tranny” is the first step of many for positive reform. Training teachers in how to handle situations where a queer student feels ostracized from their peers due to words like these being thrown around is a solution. Adding an LGBT+ section to anti-bullying presentations could be another possible step. There is so much more that this school could, and should, be doing to help integrate acceptance for its queer population.

For nearly two decades, Oregon-based songwriter Logan Lynn has quietly produced indie music to critical accolades.

With nine studio albums under his belt, he developed a niche following. He also worked on TV, hosting the weekly music video countdown cable television show NewNowNext Music on Logo.

But now Lynn, 39, is getting more attention than he ever imagined — and he tells PEOPLE that it is destroying his reputation.

In 2018, he partnered with his friend, Jerry Maguire actor Jay Mohr, on a multimedia project titled My Movie Star, a short film accompanied by a double album that includes collaborations with the Dandy Warhols and Tiffany. The video included full frontal nudity of Mohr, who had never appeared naked on film before.

The eye-grabbing video received notice from critics and fans — but soon garnered some unwanted attention, as well. Shortly after the release of My Movie Star, the online bullying started — especially on a particular Reddit subgroup, where fans of the shock jocks Opie and Anthony began weighing in.

Anonymous users began making wild accusations that Lynn says have no basis in truth. They alleged that he had molested children, was a serial rapist and other unprintable allegations. They photoshopped his face onto pornographic images, created memes with racist sayings that they falsely attributed to Lynn, and even alleged that he was a member of a prominent pro-pedophilia organization.

As the bullying intensified and the unfounded allegations grew more sinister, Lynn worried that his reputation would suffer. He spent hours blocking and reporting abusive posts, to no avail. Confused how so many people could bully him with seemingly no repercussions, Lynn reached out to Reddit — who he says declined to take action. (Reddit did not return PEOPLE’s messages for comment.)

“I usually try to lampoon this type of bigotry,” Lynn, who is openly gay, tells PEOPLE, “and I’ve been doing that here as much as I can. But it’s hard to find a punchline in what most of these people are saying and doing. It’s really sick and I’m shocked that Reddit would allow such a large group of people to organize homophobic bullying on their site.”

Mohr, 48, soon entered into the fray, denouncing the bullying on Twitter.

“Wow.@OpieRadio took a twitter bat to the ribs by a card carrying gay guy @loganlynn. Maybe his homophobic, angry and fearful fan base will desert him for getting reverse cyber fag bashed. #speakoutagainstthemOpie,” wrote Mohr.

Reps for Opie and Anthony did not return PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

Lynn says that the online bullying has had some real-life effects. One of the bands that was planning to tour with Lynn this year has dropped out, telling him that they don’t want to be tied to the allegations, even peripherally.

As a mental health advocate, Lynn knew that the overwhelming world of online bullying was unhealthy. He stopped Googling himself and often steps away from his computer screen.

But Lynn wants to make one thing clear: he’s not afraid of the trolls.

“It’s been my experience that nothing triggers this type of toxic masculinity culture more than a gay man who isn’t afraid,” Lynn says, “and I can’t think of anything I am less afraid of than a bunch of fragile dudes who can’t deal with my existence.”

The drum beats of our noisy electoral democracy can now be distinctly heard. The time for bandhans, gathbandhans, mahagathbandhans, milawats, and mahamilawats is past. Napoleons are sallying forth to do battle for Lok Sabha 2019, from them the masses will pick out a Bonaparte. What will influence their choice ? Past will matter, so will past performance. But none more than the present moment. The Napoleon Bonaparte may well be the one who will write a good script on the slate of the present moment , one so compelling that people will not read the old slate. And to do that he needs oratorical skills of the tallest order. To that end, the Sankalp rally in Gandhi Maidan, Patna on 3rd March 2019 was a revelation. Mr Modi is several notches above his rivals in that department. Here’s a snapshot, judge for yourself.

‘Modi ! Modi ! Modi ! ‘ rises the tumult as he enters the grounds ; ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ ,bawls the rumbustious crowd in front as he steps onto the stage. Has he, the eleventh avatar of Vishnu to some, subsumed ‘Bharat Mata’ too ? So it seems. He takes the mike and commands the ginormous throng to chorus ‘Bharat mata ki Jai’ ,one , two, three times before he launches into a blistering, unforgiving assault on opposition. The boisterous crowds in the front enclosures respond enthusiastically, flailing arms wildly they yell and yell, the resulting clamour so intense that the ground under shakes. Spell-bound, the crowd latches onto his every word, cheers lustily, breaks into hypnotic spells of ‘Modi ! Modi ! Modi !’ and ‘BMKJ’ . His diatribes keep igniting sparks of spontaneous applause. I recall ,not so long ago at this very venue in 2013 , exploding bombs had failed to break his bromance with the crowd, it stayed put while he spoke on without missing a train of thought. Nothing has changed since.

Lalu Yadav may quibble over the numbers in the crowd, undoubtedly lesser than what his landmark ‘garib rally’ mustered. What, however, matters is the emotional resonance Mr Modi whipped up. Besides, the ‘absentee’ crowd is of no consequence. When Giriraj Singh dubs them ‘deshdrohis’ and Pakistan lovers he leaves unsaid - they are to be pushed into Pakistan. And the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road as well as Lahore airport are now open to traffic.

Mr Modi combines ineluctable oratory with an uncanny sense and feel of the moment, its pulse, and above all , an ability to modulate its rhythm and beat to serve his political purposes. Generously spliced with a ‘mahamilawat’ of fact, fiction, half-truths ,if not subterfuge, it treads a fine line between oratory, demagoguery and rabble-rousing. Mulayam, Navin Patnaik, Mamata, Mayawati are powerful leaders but with a limited gift of the gab. It much circumscribes their pan India appeal.

And that makes Mr Modi not just complacent but cocksure of imminent return to power. He speaks the language of a victor. In his last soliloquy , ‘Man ki Baat’ , he invited the audience to his next one in May, that is after the polls. The opposition is challenged to table its next no-confidence motion against his government in 2024. That ‘Hindu Hridyay Samrat’ is destined to sculpt a Hindu India is an unshakeable article of faith among his fans. Doubting Thomas es may whistle in the dark.

However, the problem with potent orators is the potential their magical spell carry to inveigle listeners into believing the diabolic - the Robespierre's wisdom “ terror is nothing else than justice ,prompt, secure and inflexible” ; or the absurd - a loan of Rupees one lac crore from Japan for a bullet train is ‘almost free’; or that demonetisation is a Robin Hoodian act of snatching from the rich to give to the poor ; or that an increment in national pride gained by raising the tallest statue in the world is more edifying than putting food in a begging bowl.

It creates an asymmetry, highlighting the script on the present slate and blurring that on the old slate. When Mr Modi bellows in Sankalp rally “जब हमारी सेना सीमा के पार आतंकियों को कुचलने में लगी है...... मैं कांग्रेस और उसके सहयोगी दलों से पूछना चाहता हूँ कि वे क्यों वीर जवानों का मनोबल तोड़ने में लगे हैं ?” , the people will not read that a CM, Modi ducked a caveat on VVIP presence during ongoing army operations against 26/11 terrorists to address the press in Mumbai on 27/11 and express his deep disappointment with the PM. Or that contrary to the prevailing zeitgeist of ‘lionising’ security forces he, even three hours after Pulwama attack, failed to solace bereaved families of killed jawans, not even a mention in his address at an election rally the same evening. Also erased from the old slate will be the grim fact that not one elected representative, ‘Sushasan Babu’ and ‘Chota Modi’ included, paid their last respects to Pintu Singh, the slain jawan at Patna airport on Friday, or at the cremation grounds in Begusarai on Sunday ,except Upendra Paswan, the Bakhri MLA from RJD. Knee-deep in politics, skin-deep in love for soldiers. When ‘mahagathbandhan’ is decried as ‘mahamilawat’ , the crowd is expected to turn blind to NDA’s own pot-pourri of 40 parties including the Afzal Guru glorifying PDP and mercurial Shiv Sena.

Going forward, Mr Modi’s oratorical skills will come in handy to camouflage ‘Grapes of Wrath’ that blot NDA’s five years- farmers’ distress, a 45-year high in unemployment ,and an economy settling into a new ‘Hindu’ growth rate of 7% under the new GDP series, to name a few ‘wrathful grapes’. Will the rhetorician , Modi, be able to deflect attention away to highfalutin abstract notions of national hubris, cultural nationalism, global standing ? Can he do what Anytus and co-accusers did to earn Socrates’ lament at the trial ‘ I know that they almost made me forget who I was -so persuasively did they speak and yet they have hardly uttered a word of truth.’ That is the challenge Mr Modi poses to his opponents. Will they be able to blunt popular appeal generated by Mr Modi’s rhetoric surrounding immediate events like terror attacks and plethora of nation-wide unrolling of projects and foundation layings at the fag end of his tenure by baring the ‘wrathful grapes’ ? Mr Ram Vilas Paswan’s expose- post aerial strike Mr Modi’s chest has expanded to 156” and ‘Chota’ Modi’s assertion that even ten hawks were no match for the lion Modi won’t make the task any easier.

My neighbour with whom I have regular political jousts entertains no doubts ; Mr Modi ,he says , is a GOAT ! Since he never tires of lionising him, I thought GOAT was a bit of a let down . Till he explained,

GOAT - Greatest of all time .
