Exciting ||Jay Halstead x Daughter and reader
Jay has to take his daughter to work for the first time and he’s not excited about it.
For the one that voted Jay x daughter on the poll (this is not a Christmas story though)
Jay wasn’t comfortable with the idea of taking his 4 years old daughter to work, but seemed like luck was not on his side. The girl was on vacation, Y/N was on a work trip, the nanny got sick, Will was on shift and the little girl’s grandparent’s couldn’t take care of her all day long, so he had no choice. He called Voight, who with his raspy voice and without any problem said “Bring her.”
He sighed, “Ok, baby girl. You are coming to work with me today” He notified his little daughter who was sitting with her short legs hanging from the couch.
“To the police station?” Her eyes were shining bright out of excitement.
“Yea”, her dad chuckled. “Mommy will pick you up later, when she comes back home from her trip, ok?”
“Okay. I am excited!” Excited was the last feeling she learned in school and from then on she would use it for everything.
“I am excited too”, he lied, he was more nervous than anything. “Go get your backpack”, he ordered and when she was gone he muttered to himself, “I’m already running late”
It wasn’t common to take one’s son or daughter to the bullpen, but is wasn’t so strange either. Voight and Al had done it in the past with their kids; Burgess and Adam had done it with Malayla too, even Kevin had to take his little sister from time to time. This was the family Hank talked about.
Jay went upstairs with a small pink and shinny backpack with unicorn form on his arm, making a funny contrast with the gun hanging from his hips.
“Where’s the baby girl?” Adam said when he saw his friend arriving alone.
“Platt stole her from me”, he answered. He would have arrived even later if he had waited for Trudy to give her back to him. Kim smiled at the image.
“We haven’t seen her in a while”, Al peeked his head from his hidden desk to participate in the conversation, “A bit of her cheerfulness will do good to this place”
“Well, she is, and I’m quoting, “very excited” to see you all”, the proud dad smirked.
But as much excited as she was, the baby Halstead was very shy to even say good morning to them. As soon as Trudy Platt carried her upstairs, the girl ran towards her father as fast as she could.
“Why are you crying?” Jay asked in a very low voice, while sitting her on his lap.
But the one answering the question was Platt, “She started to worry when she noticed you weren’t around downstairs and then silently started crying”
Ashamed, the little Halstead girl hugged her dad’s neck and buried her face on his shoulder. A chorous of “aw” was heard around. This wasn’t what she expected, visiting the police station didn’t make her feel excited after all.
“It’s alright”, Jay kept whispering into her ear. It was only after a few minutes later that she calmed down, but even when she was acting as if nothing had happened, she was still embarrased.
Al passed by from the coffee room to his desk and handed a coockie to the girl. She hesitated on accepting it, she first turned to her dad who nodded in approval and she stretched her tiny arm to take it.
“Precauted girl. Good”, Olinsky smiled at her and she smiled back.
“Why don’t you take your colors and get to work in your coloring book, hm?” Jay said more like an order as he put her down. He couldn’t really advance in his work if she was there right beside him.
They walked to an unoccupied desk right infront of Adam. The girl climbed the chair as her dad took her belongings out of the unicorn backpack, “There you go. I’ll be right there if you need me. Remember to
”
“
be quiet, shhh” his daughter completed.
She stayed there for a while, coloring different pages. The detectives, specially Kim, would praise her artistic work whenever they had to walk by her side. She liked Kim, that woman was funny, but she couldn’t really take her eyes off of the man who had gave her the cookie: Alvin Olinsky, but he was too busy to noticed.
“Daddy”, she silently stood up an whispered, trying not to distract the people around, “I don’t want to color anymore. I want to draw”
“Uh, let me check if I have something for you to—“
“I have some white sheets in here”, Hailey opened a drawer and handed a bunch to the Halstead girl. She liked Hailey too, she had a bright smile.
“How do you say?” Her father encouraged her before going back to her place.
“Thank you, Hailssss”
She was immersed in her own world, drawing, coloring and cutting. She stood up to get closer to Adam and touched his leg to call his attention.
“How do you write ‘I love you’?” She asked the detective.
“Oh!” He took a notebook and a pen, “Very easy, let me just show you”
Jay looked up to witness the scene, altough he couldn’t hear any word they were exchanching, “Hey, sweetie”, he called out, “Let Ruz work, ok?”
“No big deal” His collegue said handing her the sheet.
A few minutes later, the little girl stood up once more to go with her father. She stretched her hand to hand him a very colorful circle of paper.
“Wow! Is this for me?” Jay exxagerated his emotion, and then melted when he read the phrase ‘I love you’ followed by a crooked heart.
With excitement, she explained it was a cup holder: “Yea, you can put your mug there”. Following orders from such a smooth voice, Jay placed his mug over the gift.
“Just what I needed” He kissed her head. When she withdrew of his side, Jay immediatly took the paper with the witten phrase and placed it in a spot where he was able to see it all the time.
Before going back to sit on her chair, the girl passed by Al’s desk and stood next to him staring, until he finally noticed.
She took him by surprise, a cute surprise, “Hey, you scared me!” That made her laugh.
“What do you like the most?” The kid asked wothout any other introduction, “Ducks or unicorns?”
Detective Olinsky took his time to answer the question. He observed that Halstead’s daughter was wearing a T-shirt full of unicorns, her pink shinny backback also had the shape of a unicorn, so he went by that, thinking it would be the correct answer.
“Unicorns, I love unicorns”
But she didn’t had the reaction he expected, instead she sadenned, “Oh! I was going to draw a duck for you”
Being in a space close to Olinsky, and paying attention to what his daughter was doing all the time, Jay listened and couldn’t help to smile to the reaction of his parter.
“Oh, well, I love ducks too!” Alvin tried to amend his error.
“A duck, then?”
“Yea, a duck!”
And she moved her tiny legs as fast as she could. Both detectives shared a look and laughed.
It didn’t pass a lot of time when the girl was next to Olinsky’s chair again, but this time he noticed. Without speaking, she handed to him the drawing of a duck happily swimming in a lake.
“What? Is this for me?” She nodded. There was something peaceful in his voice that she liked. “Thank you very much! I really love it. What’s this?” He pointed to a brown circle tha was close to the animal. The answer make him smile showing his teeth.
“A cookie”
“Well, this masterpiece deserves to be in a special place” The detective took a bit of tape and pasted the drawing where it could be seen by everyone.
Little Halstead ran to his father to tell him what just had happened.
“That’s not fair!” Adam teased her later on the day. “I want my own drawing too! I showed you how to write that phrase, you gotta remember that!”
“It will have to be another day”, Jay intervened. “Time to pick everything up, your mom’s on her way to pick you up”
“Mommy’s back?” She asked with the same bright eyes she had when realizing she was going to the police station.
“Yeah!” Her dad smirked.
“I am excited!” She stated while putting her stuff back into the backpack.
“Say goodbye, time to go. Mommy’s downstairs”
She waved her little hand to everybody in the bullpen, “Bye bye”. She even peeked her head into Voight’s office, “Goodbye, Serge”
“You are leaving already? Goodbye, little one” Hank said in a very friendly tone, “Come back soon, whenever you want”
She laughed at the idea, “I will”
It was a bit hard for her to walk down the stairs. “Do you need help?” Jay asked with his arms opened to carry her and she jumped to him.
As soon as she spotted Y/N at the desk with Trudy she yelled at her. Jay put her down on the floor when the stairs were over and his baby ran towards her mom, who picked her up in a tight hug.
“Mommy!”
“Ugh, how much I missed you” Y/N said covering their daughter in kisses.
“Me too!”
“Did the detectives threated you good?” Trudy asked, “How was your day at daddy’s work, hm?”
Wothout hesitating and with a lot of emotion, the girl answered “Oh! It was exciting!”

Followed
Hey! I've had this idea floating around in my head for a little while now and finally got it out on paper. Halstead! Sister is followed while trying to go to a coffee shop. Hope you enjoy reading and stay safe out there y'all, it's a wild world we live in unfortunately.
“What are your plans for today?” asked Jay the minute you walked into the kitchen.
“Well good morning to you” you sassily replied while walking to the fridge to grab the milk.
You were off from work and had been looking forward to this day since last Monday.
“Hmm, I was thinking of maybe going and visiting an old friend from the old neighborhood and then maybe get coffee from my favorite spot before returning home and lounging and doing nothing” you answered while sinking your spoon into your cereal.
“Solid plan. Remember if you need me for any reason and I don’t answer, call Al.”
“Al?” you questioned when you swallowed your cereal bite. “Usually you tell me to call Hailey.”
Swiping his keys off the counter, Jay looks at you and says, “Voight switched up the partners this week and I’m with Al while Hailey is with Kevin, so I repeat call Al if you need me and I don’t answer”
“Okay” you mock saluted.
“Pick up. Pick up. Come on pick up” you muttered while your phone was up to your ear and you looked over your shoulder while picking up the pace a bit.
“Hey this is Detective Jay Halstead, I can’t come to the phone right now. Leave your name and number after the beep and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible” the familiar voice mail message spoke out into your ear.
“Fuck!” you muttered while ending the call and picking your pace up a bit more after looking behind you and still seeing the person who had been following you for the past 3 blocks behind you.
“What’s a pretty girl like you doing out and bout?” asked the man while also picking up his pace.
You ignored him and kept walking. Wondering when the hell you were going to hit 35th street.
“Are you headed to work or school?” the man asked when he got shoulder to shoulder with you.
You ignored the guy again really wishing your brother would have picked up.
Gripping your phone in your sweatshirt pocket you picked up your pace again, walking slightly more ahead of the guy.
Pulling your phone out again, you quickly ran through your contacts and clicked on Olinsky before letting it dial.
“You’re really pretty you know that?” the man started again while finally keeping his distance from you but still following you.
‘36th street
 36th street place
35th street! Finally!’ you thought while reading the street signs. Al’s phone also went to voicemail. Meaning they must be at a crime scene or in the car or something.
Turning right onto the street you notice the guy who had been following you for the past 5 blocks is no longer following you but of course you don’t get far enough away before you hear, “Have a great day sweetheart! You're gorgeous!”
Visibly shuddering you honestly feel disgusting and don’t even want coffee anymore. Mainly because you're shaken up but also because it means you have to be in the area for longer.
So you quickly pull your phone out and call a number you didn’t exactly want to call.
“Trudy?” you sniffled when she picked up.
“Kid, what's wrong?” she asked on the other side.
“Is my brother and Al on a call right now?”
You hear some rustling and then the sound of a buzzer and heavy footsteps before someone speaks again.
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
“Jay!” you all but shout!
“What’s wrong?”
“Why didn’t you pick up when I called you? Why didn’t Al pick up when I called?”
“I’m sorry, we were doing an interrogation. What’s up.”
“Uh, can you come get me?”
“Why? Can’t you take the bus? I thought you were visiting a friend and getting coffee?”
“I visited with my friend, it was a good time but I uh got followed and cat called and feel dirty and just want to go home”
“Cat called? Followed? For how long? Al and I are on our way! Where are you?”
“Uh from 37th street all the way to 35th street. I’m walking up 35th right now. I can wait by that school that’s right there if that’s easy enough of a landmark for you guys to find me.”
You hear the car start and doors being shut before you can hear your voice echo.
“Kid, we don’t care where we pick you up. Wherever makes you feel safest is good enough for us.” you hear Al say.
“Uh, uh, yea the elementary school should be good. I’ll be on the sidewalk.” you stuttered out while running a hand through your hair.
“Sounds good, we should be there in 20” replied your brother.
“Hang in there kid” added Al before the call ended.
The next twenty minutes were the longest twenty minutes of your life. You still felt really dirty and uneasy and just wanted to be in the safety of your brother or even better the safety of your own bed.
“Hey Y/N, get in” you heard. You looked up to see Al’s Dodge Magnum car in front of you and your brother’s window rolled down. Quickly shuffling to your feet you scramble into the back seat and audibly let out a sigh.
“You okay?” your brother asked while turning in his seat to face you.
Nodding, you reply, “now I am, thank you for coming and getting me. I’m sorry you had to leave work.”
Al pulled into a parking space near Scoops ice cream and stated reassuringly, “Kid, you’re family. Meaning you're important to us. No case will ever be too important to come and get you”
Smirking, you asked, “Let me guess, are you just saying that cause the guy you guys were interrogating was jamming up and you weren’t getting anywhere with them?”
Shaking their heads, Al and Jay looked at each other knowingly.
“But we are being honest kid, if you ever have a problem or encounter again like today you call anyone in intelligence and they will have your back!”
“Copy! Can we get ice cream now?” you chuckled.

Hank Voight x Fem!Reader - Pt. 2
Request for @maximeseveridecaseyc - I hope you like it!
Synopsis: Part 2 of THIS request - Reader and Voight are taking the next step in their relationship! :)
Eight months went by, your relationship with Hank growing deeper and more passionate every day. Your bruises had healed, and you’d naturally gained some weight, but it was good weight. You were happier and despite still having nightmares, Hank stayed by your side. You often spent your days in his house, as you felt safe there. He urged you to go out on your own, because he didn’t want to restrict you. When you did leave, you went to Molly’s and worked a weekend shift, especially when Hank was wrapped up in a case.
One day, Hank came home to you, a wide smile on his face. It was rare to see him in such a good mood due to his line of work. You walked to the door and greeted him.
“Hey baby,” you said softly, waiting for him to strip his outer jacket and shoes before wrapping your arms around his neck, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He looked down at you, his smile only growing. “Hey there,” he replied. “How was your day?”
You laughed. “It was good. Looks like yours was too.”
He kissed you again, rubbing your waist. “Even better now that I’m home with you.”
You smiled, putting a hand up to his face, stroking his cheek with your thumb. “Seems like you’re extra happy today.”
Hank hummed, turning his head to kiss your hand, using one hand to take it and hold it. “Come on, let’s eat dinner. I’m just so happy to see my girlfriend.”
You laughed, using your free hand to rub his chest before he whisked you away to the kitchen. The two of you decided to cook spaghetti. You and Hank worked together on the meal, Hank playfully getting some sauce on his finger and pressing it to your nose. You gasped and laughed, getting him back by saucing him in the cheek. You both laughed, the happiest people in the world in those moments. The rest of the world didn’t exist as the two of you laughed and wiped the sauce from one another’s faces.
You wrapped your arms around his torso, pressing your face into his chest. “You know, when I first met you, I never thought that you’d be such a softie.“
Hank couldn’t help but blush when you called him that. “I hope you don’t go around telling people that. I have to keep my hard-ass reputation.” He laughed, stroking your hair as he held you close.
“No, it’s just for me,” you whispered, pulling back and kissing him deeply.
Hank smiled down at you when you parted. “Yeah, it is.” He reached into his pocket, pulling something out after a moment and keeping it hidden in his hand. “Look, (Y/N), you’re the first person to make me happy since Camille passed on. I want to make sure you stick around. I know it’s really informal but
I want to ask you if you’ll marry me.” Hank opened his hand to reveal a simple engagement ring.
You blushed deeply, gasping softly when he asked, tears welling in your eyes. How could you say no to him? He made you just as happy. You slowly took the ring from his hand, nodding as you looked up at him, slipping it on your ring finger. “Yes
Yes, Hank, I’d love to marry you.” You pushed closer into his embrace as he pulled you as close as possible, kissing you deeply, passion and love pouring from his soul, directly into yours. You felt completely fulfilled by this moment alone.
You wrapped your arms tightly around Hank, practically jumping into his arms. He smiled and pulled you up, setting you up on the counter as he turned off the stove. “You know, I didn’t plan to do this until after dinner, but it was so
 perfect.”
You smiled down at him, carting your fingers through his hair and rubbing the nape of his neck. “Yeah, it was perfect,” you affirmed. “I couldn’t think of anything better.”
.
The next day, you went with Hank into work, as you sometimes did, especially because you liked to visit the intelligence unit, who had come to be your close friends and practically family.
It was Antonio who noticed it first. He was a father, and he had taken on something of a parent role to you as well. He looked at your hand, then met your eyes and smiled. “Congratulations,” he said softly, so the others wouldn’t hear.
“Thanks,” you whispered with a nod as you walked over to see Erin and Jay in the break room. “Hey guys.”
Erin smiled when she saw you. “Hey, (Y/N)!” She walked over and gave you a gentle hug. “You seem different.”
You shrugged a little. “What do you mean?” You smiled at her as Jay handed you a cup of coffee, which you held with both hands as you sipped.
Erin hummed, looking you over. “You look like you’re glowing.”
“Well, I had a good night last night,” you said with a small laugh.
Hank came up behind you in the doorway, a rare smile on his face. Erin didn’t see him smile like that often, meeting his eyes for a moment before Hank looked down.
Erin’s eyes turned to you, gasping when she saw the engagement ring on your finger. “No way,” she said with a laugh. “Hank, you sly dog.”
Hank shrugged. “What can I say?”
Jay laughed. “Congratulations.” He walked over, giving you a small hug, then shaking Hank’s hand.
Erin came over and hugged you tightly. “I’m so happy for the two of you.” She smiled, then hugged Hank as well. “I’m glad you make each other happy.”
You turned to look at Hank as he hugged his foster daughter, a bright smile on your face. “Erin, I’d love it if you could be my maid of honor.”
Erin turned quickly to you, smiling. “I’d love to, (Y/N). Anything you need, let me know.”
Hank chuckled. “We talked about it last night. We decided we’d just have a small wedding and elope. Just close friends.”
Antonio walked in, smiling and shaking Hank’s hand. “Congratulations - both of you.” He hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek. “You both deserve it.”
You smiled and hugged Antonio tightly. “Walk me down the aisle?”
Antonio pulled back, looking at you with a look of surprise. “Me? Are you sure?”
“Who else?” You asked with a smile.
—
Three months later, you were dress shopping. Your wedding was set for a month out, making you both excited and nervous. It wasn’t a huge ceremony, but you wanted it to be just right. Hank was the love of your life, your first true love and the man who ultimately treated you like you were worth more than a passing glance. You weren’t a body with Hank, you were a person.
“(Y/N),” Erin said, gently putting a hand on your shoulder. “You ready?”
“Yeah,” you said, walking with Erin into the store, Jay right behind you.
When you walked in, you were greeted by a man and a woman, both of which would be assisting you.
.
After trying on eighteen dresses, you were exhausted. None of them were quite right. You liked a few, hated a few others, and were indifferent on the rest. You were upset that you couldn’t find one you loved and were going to settle on one of the ones you thought were okay instead. That’s when Jay popped out of the aisle. “Hey, (Y/N), try this one.”
“I’m exhausted, Jay,” you groaned. “It’s fine, I’ll just pick one of these.”
“No, I’m serious, this is the last one. Try it.”
“Jay
” you whined. “Come on
”
Erin walked over to Jay, looking at the dress he was holding, then nodding. “Come on, (Y/N), one more.”
You looked at the both of them, then sighed. “Fine. But this is the last one. Then I’m leaving.”
You got into the dress which fit you well in all the right places. You bit your lip as you looked down at it, wondering if it actually looked as good as you thought. When you walked out and stood on the podium, you looked at Erin and Jay on the couch first. “Does it look okay?”
Jay smiled brightly, nodding. Erin gasped and stood up, walking over to you. “(Y/N), you need to see it for yourself.”
You bit your lip as Erin helped you move around to the mirror, your eyes closed tightly. When you finally got the courage to open your eyes and look, you blushed, then tears welled in your eyes. You put your hands to your face, gasping as you started to cry. “It’s
 perfect.”
“Told you,” Jay said, standing and joining Erin. “It’s always in the last place you look.”
You laughed, shaking your head and wiping the tears from your face. “That’s only lost things, silly.”
Jay shrugged and chuckled.
—
You and Hank had decided at the last minute to have your wedding on the steps of the 21st district. Seeing as it was a weekend, the foot traffic could be routed through a different door. Trudy was able to take care of it for you. She was so happy for Hank that he had found someone new since Camille had passed. You, Erin, Stella, and Sylvie were a block away at Sylvie's apartment. The girls had personally taken care of your hair and makeup, styling it so that your face was perfectly framed. As you finished assembling your dress and got your shoes on, you looked in the mirror, biting your lip. Everything was perfect, and you were glowing. The engagement ring on your finger was sparkling brightly, and you couldn't help but smile, thinking about Hank, hoping he thought you were beautiful too.
A knock came to the door. Erin walked over and cracked it open, then allowed Antonio inside. Antonio stepped in, nodding to the three bridesmaids, then to you with a small smile. "Beautiful."
"Thanks," you said softly, nodding back at him. "Is everyone ready at the district?"
"Yep, just waiting on you." He walked over, offering his arm. You took it, the two of you walking downstairs and out to his car. Erin, Stella and Sylvie got into another car, driving ahead of you and Antonio so they could get set up. Toni sat in the driver's seat beside you, waiting a few minutes before he started driving. He looked at you. "Hey, how are you feeling?"
You took a deep breath as your eyes shifted to his face. "Butterflies. Lots and lots of butterflies."
Antonio chuckled, gently taking your hand for comfort. "Hank feels the same way - he just won't say so."
"How do you know?" You squeezed his hand.
Antonio laughed. "I haven't seen Hank so frantic in my life. He knows this is a small event, but he wants to make sure it's right. For you. He understands you haven't been married before and he wants you to have a good day."
You smiled softly, thinking about Hank being frantic. You could barely imagine it. The level-headed man you'd come to love, hard on the outside and soft on the inside, how could he be so frantic? You looked out the window as Antonio drove you to the district, the butterflies in your stomach getting stronger with each passing minute.
When you arrived at the district, Antonio kissed your cheek, then got out and opened your door for you, handing you a bouquet he had grabbed from the back seat. It was made up of your favorite flowers. He helped you out, then the two of you walked across the street. At the top of the stairs stood Hank, Alvin and Jay beside him, a third spot left for Antonio. Chief Boden from Firehouse 51 was officiating your wedding, standing in the middle with a small smile. Erin, Stella and Sylvie had since taken their places on the opposite side of Al and Jay, a spot left for you. Each had a grin on their face, except Hank.
Hank's eyes moved all over you. He examined every part of you, from bottom to top. When his eyes finally met yours, he nodded a little, swallowing hard. You wondered if he wanted to back out, but as Antonio led you up the steps toward Hank, you could see he actually had tears in your eyes. You teared up as well, seeing that he was crying just looking at you. The two of you were overwhelmed with emotion as Antonio let you go and into Hank's arms, taking his spot beside Jay. Hank hugged you, mumbling in your ear. "You're beautiful... Inside and out... I can't wait to make you my wife."
You sniffled, trying not to rub your makeup on him. Al handed you a tissue, as if he knew you would need it beforehand. You took it with a silent thanks, pulling away from Hank to dab your eyes, then holding his hands. You barely listened to Boden until your part came, Erin handing you the wedding band for Hank, and Al giving the one for you to Hank. You repeated the words Boden asked you to, then Hank to you. The two of you were still dabbing your tears every so often, voices barely a whisper, as it was all either of you could muster without breaking into tears.
After you exchanged rings, you exchanged vows, promising to love and support one another - no matter what came your way. Each of you promised that your marriage meant more than just a body to sleep beside. Your marriage was the most important thing in your lives, come what may.
After exchanging the rings, Boden talked a bit more before the two of you were finally allowed to kiss one another. Hank pulled you close, a soft yet desperate pull. He touched his nose to yours, finally letting tears stream from his eyes. "I love you," he whispered softly before closing the gap and pressing his lips to yours, kissing you with the same passion, love and energy you had felt the first time he kissed you. You returned it all, holding onto him lovingly, clutching his jacket for life, as if he might leave if you let go. You finally had something good, and it was yours to keep. Love.
When the two of you finally parted, you whispered back, breathless. "I love you too." Finally, the claps and cheers of your wedding party and audience came to your ears. You smiled and faced the small crowd of friends, waving with your free hand, holding your bouquet in the other. You threw it out into the crowd, Kim catching it. She blushed as Adam laughed and put his arm around her shoulders. Then, Hank walked you down the steps, smiling like a fool. The two of you got into his Dodge Durango and drove away, waving. You went to his house, practically already both of yours. The two of you changed into something a little less fancy, but still nice. Then, you shared a few moments together, gentle and loving, before leaving and heading out to Molly's for your reception.
--
When the two of you arrived at Molly's, the party was already in full swing. Trudy and Erin made sure everyone was having a good time. You and Hank walked in, everybody clapping and hollering. Hank held your hand, smiling and even blushing. It was a blush he would pass off as it being too hot. Only you and a select few others knew that his blush was real. The two of you walked around, talking with everyone. Mainly though, Hank did the talking while you just enjoyed holding his hand. The two of you had some casual drinks, but you were already exhausted and looked forward to spending the night in his arms, leaning into him. He cast his arm around your waist and pulled you close, allowing you to lean further into his embrace. His embrace was the best place on the planet, and you never wanted to leave it.

A Little More Often Than Usual
Jay Halstead x Reader
Y/N is the new caretaker of the records downstairs. She was briefed and trained properly to follow lawful procedures, but she was also told that that isn't always the case. Sometimes, detectives need data without a case number to solve an urgent case. And sometimes they need it for personal reasons.
One of those detectives is Jay Halstead, Y/N's crush. Gave Y/N "bribes" in form of chocolates.

Y/N worries because the under the table requests from Jay became more often than usual.
In Chicago PD, patrolmen and detectives asks favors around, sometimes favors that doesn't really follow the proper procedures.
And sometimes personal favors.
Y/N's mentor taught her how to do the job well and also taught her that sometimes, under the table requests happens.
For them to search or give out data, they need a case number for it. Sometimes, officials asks for data search without a case number, and that it is in their discretion to do it or not. But be careful and cover records that prove the search.
And Y/N did a few favors like that, mostly for the Intelligence Unit. Quite a lot of times from Voight and Olinsky, and sometimes, from her crush - Jay Halstead.
Jay first came to Y/N for a database search for a girl named Cherry. Then another one for a Jimmy Sanguinetty. The first request was valid, case linked. The second wasn't. Because Jay offered a handful of kitkat chocolates.
Probably picked it up from the other detectives that had asked her favors like this before.
Not that Jay had to do that, because Y/N would happily do it without the bribes.
Y/N has had a huge crush on Jay Halstead since she saw him. She'd get all happy and giddy whenever he sees him. And specially so when she sees him in full gear when they have an operation.
They had a few interactions outside of work, mostly at Molly's when there's a PD celebration. Just small talks. But Y/N considered those big things already.
Jay was kind and courteous most of the times. Short talks with a group, little laughs here and there.
They also bump into each other in the cafe near the department. Sometimes in the diner near too. They'd talk there and then. They became quite good friends.
But now, the requests became more often. Y/N got worried about Jay. She really hoped Jay is okay and also has not become a dirty cop. She just doesn't believe it.
So lunchtime came, Y/N was in line at the foodtruck.
"Hey."
Y/N was startled a little bit. A guy from behind suddenly talked to her.
"H-Hey, Jay. Buying lunch too?" -Y/N was glad to see and talk to Jay. She doesn't always get to lately, Intelligence Unit was quite busy.
"Y/N. Yeah, they say food here is good."
"It is. I vouch." Y/N smiled and laughed a little. Jay laughed with her too.
Y/N got her food. "Hey, Jay. I'm heading back."
"Yeah."
Y/N was a few steps ahead when Jay chased her.
"Hey, Y/N, uhm, later... I'm gonna need some files."
"Oh... okay."
"Yeah."
Y/N walked again but she went back because she was worried. She asked Jay about it.
"Jay, are you okay?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" -Jay was genuinely confused.
"You're asking files quite often... and... we all know you could get in trouble. I can get in trouble."
"No. Everything's good. Just... We have some time sensitive cases lately, paperworks are late. Don't worry about it." -Jay assured her.
"Okay."
"Hey, later still good?"
"Yeah."
Y/N went back to the department and had her lunch. Worried and thinking what files she'd be printing for Jay this time.
It's well past 4pm now, Y/N's about to clock out when Jay stepped in.
"Hey, uh, you stepping out?" Jay was rubbing the back of his neck and was hiding his other hand behind his back.
Probably the chocolate bribes in exchange for whatever files he needs from Y/N.
"Yeah, about too. So, what do I search?" -Y/N sat in front the computer, ready to type.
"Uh, yeah. About that."
Jay stepped closer to the counter, closer to Y/N, and placed the bribe on it.
This time they aren't chocolates.
They are flowers. A small, cute, rose bouquet.
"J-Jay? What the hell?"
"Yeah... I figured the chocolates ain't making it clear."
"W-What... what is this, really? Are you-"
"I like you and would like a date... I thought I was being obvious."
"The chocolates? In exchange for files isn't exactly obvious."
"Yeah, I figured this lunch when you asked me."
"So, those files you asked, you don't really need?"
"Yeah, excuses to give you chocolates." -Jay had a sheepish smile on.
"A very risky excuse."
"Sorry."
Y/N looked at the roses on the counter. She couldn't believe it. She reached for it and grabbed it and looked up at Jay.
"So, is that a yes?"
"Yeah."

Detective Halstead’s Girl
Jay Halstead x Olinsky!Reader
description: Jay falls for Olinsky’s daughter.
word count: 1.2k
warnings: stalking, creepy men, step-parent hate, car accident, boyfriend Jay
masterlist | oneshots
Tumblr media
Y/N Olinksy, the woman that Jay Halstead had fallen in love with. He didn’t know Alvin had an older daughter, but he did. They were young and in love when Y/N was born, and before he met Meredith. Not that Y/N had any distaste for her stepmother at first, but she did notice something off. Meredith would try to get in the way when she would come and spend time or even the weekend with her father. It got even worse when Y/N had to move in with her father. She had a good relationship with her sister, but because of Meredith, she spent most of her time outside of the home. That’s where she meets Jay, at Molly’s Bar on a Tuesday night.
“Hi.” He smiled his charming smile at her. “Thought you could use another round,” Jay set the bottle of beer down next to the drink on the counter. “I’m Jay.”
“Y/N. Thank you for the beer. I definitely needed this.” She smiled lightly at him. She wasn’t in the mood to talk, but with a handsome man standing beside her, she’d forget about her woes for the night.
“Would you like to talk about it? Maybe take your mind off of what’s bothering you?” Jay sat next to her, not waiting for her answer.
“I’d like that.” Y/N smiled softly. “It’s a family thing, well, a stepmother thing. I live with my dad for the moment while I’m apartment hunting and his wife is quite possibly one of the worse people you could meet.” She grinned, trying not to bring Jay down with her.
“I’m really sorry to hear that. If you’d like, I could help you find an apartment. Actually, my brother owns and building and so does my co-worker.” He smiled proudly.
“Are you serious? Yes, I would love to check out both of them. Thank you so much!” Y/N's smile widened, immediately lifting her spirits.
They spoke the rest of the night getting to know one another before they said goodnight. Jay gave Y/N his number promising to give her Will and Kevin’s contacts in the morning. Which he did, bright and early the moment he woke up. She thought it was sweet that Jay was still thinking of her even when he just woke up. Some women would have thought that was creepy, but not Y/N. It was kind and thoughtful.
Tumblr media
A couple of weeks had gone by and Jay and Y/N have been on a few dates but made nothing official yet. Y/N was like her father in that way, mysterious and keeping people on their toes. But when she called Jay in the middle of the night scared, he didn’t hesitate to call in back-up for his girlfriend.
“Y/N!” Jay ran towards her as she stood outside the front of the local bagel place near her father’s home.
“Jay!” She sighed in relief hugging him as he held her closer into his frame.
“What happened, darling? Are you ok? Did they hurt you?” Jay took a step back to scan her face and body for any signs of injuries.
“No. No, I’m physically okay. Just scared and freaked out.” Y/N sighed, still slightly trembling.
“Talk to me, what’s wrong?” Jay led her to his car.
“I don’t know. There’s just this guy I’ve seen wherever I go. I didn’t pay any attention to it at first cause it’s a semi-small neighborhood, but then it started to get everywhere I went. To the gas station, the grocery store, the post office, the bank, and even outside the building I work in. I’m pretty sure he’s following me.” She sighed a single tear falling from her eye. Y/N didn’t dare mention anything to her dad. She knew that she wouldn’t be “allowed” to go out alone or to be stuck at home with Meredith. She wanted freedom and promised herself to be careful, but now she wishes she told Al. It was starting to get out of hand and terrifying her by the day.
“It’s alright, baby. I’ll protect you. No one is going to hurt you.” Jay held her close again, gently rubbing her back to calm her down.
Tumblr media
Now it was taken to a new level of scare and threat. Y/N walked outside of her office building and to her car. A small fire started in a car parallel to hers in the parking garage. She panicked and dialed 911 to notify them of a car fire. She then ran towards the stairs to grab the fire extinguisher and put it out. Once she met up with the owner she left knowing they’d take care of it. But as this was happening, her stalker put a tracker on her car. As she was leaving, there was a blue sedan following her one car behind. She noticed a couple of turns with this guy but didn’t make the connection until she was mindlessly driving around Chicago. Where she went, he went. Now Y/N was terrified and shaking. She knew what to do now, but all common sense ran out of the window and was replaced with anxiety. She fumbled to call Jay or Alvin. She hit a random number and heard the dial tone.
“Y/N?” No answer from her. “Y/N, sweetheart what’s wrong?” She heard Al’s voice on the other end of the phone.
“Dad?” She sighed shakily into the phone. “Daddy, there’s someone following me. I think it’s my stalker, I don’t know what to do.” Y/N sighed trying her hardest not to panic anymore and break down into tears.
“Y/N, listen to me. Do not go home. Come straight to the district.” Alvin said.
“O-ok.” Was the last thing Al heard before the sound of a car crash and tires squealing.
Tumblr media
Y/N sat in the banged-up car, bloody and confused. Trying to move, she saw a man slowly getting out of his car. She recognized the blue sedan and struggled in fear to escape the wrecked car. Her seatbelt was stuck and there was no way she would be able to get out of there without any help from the fire department. Sirens blared in the distance as the man walked closer to her. She saw a slight glimpse of something in his hand, and before she could register what was happening, gunshots went off.
Y/N woke up in a hospital bed, machines beeping, and a nurse checking her out. She let her eyes adjust to the light before looking over and seeing Jay asleep in the hospital chair next to her bed.
“Jay.” Y/N said hoarsely as he woke up, looking at her.
“Y/N. You’re awake. Hi baby.” He softly placed a kiss on her forehead, letting his lips linger a little longer.
“What happened?” Y/N looked tiredly at her boyfriend.
“You were in a car accident. But don’t worry we caught the guy. And yeah, he was your stalker, but he’s locked up now for a long time. He can’t and won’t hurt you anymore. I promise.” Jay slid into bed with her, letting her rest on him. “I got you now.”
“Thank you for saving me.” She cried into his chest.
“For you, I’d risk it all.” Jay kissed her forehead, cuddling his girlfriend.

Yeeee boy.
Can I request for Hank Voight with a male reader? Where Voight has kept their relationship hidden for safety reasons but the team finds out about it anyway?
SECRETS- Hank Voight x male!reader
Fandom: Chicago PD
Pairing: Hank Voight x male!reader
Summary - Hank Voight has kept his relationship with Y/N a secret to protect him from the dangers that seem to follow Hank wherever he goes. He soon finds out he isn't such a good secret keeper when it comes to his team.
Word Count: ~1100
Y/L/N: your last name, Y/F/S: your favourite show. Oh also Alvin Olinsky is still alive in this, I just love him too much.
The sun rose through the curtains and lit up the room. Y/N turned over in bed, but where he expected a warm body to cuddle up to, he only found the warm sheets, a sign Hank wasn’t long gone. The next thing Y/N noticed was the pleasant aroma of hot coffee filling the air. Y/N got out of bed, following the delicious coffee smells into the kitchen, where Hank stood at the counter pouring two cups of coffee. Y/N wrapped his arms around Hank’s waist and leant close, peeking over his shoulder, watching as the black liquid settled into the mugs, the steam rising from them.
“Hi sleepyhead. I hope I didn’t wake you.” Y/N shook his head no. Hank turned around, handing one mug out to his lover. “Well, Chicago never stops.” Y/N pouted slightly, puppy dog eyes pleading for Hank to stay home today. “I know, babe, but Antonio called me, they’ve found a lead.” Y/N smiled slightly.
“I know, just come back to me in one piece.” Hank wished he could tell his team about Y/N. The reason he got up every day. The reason for his smile. The reason for the slight pep in his step that he tried to hide when he was at work - it was such an unusual sight for him, it would be bound to draw questions. He wanted to tell his team about Y/N - no, maybe that was selfish. Okay, it was selfish. No maybe about it. He wanted to tell his team about Y/N so he could show his absolutely perfectly imperfect, adorable, tender-hearted lover off. After Camille and Justin, he never thought he would find love again, and now that he had, he wanted so bad to scream it from the rooftops. But the rational side of him reminded him how dangerous that could be. The more people who knew of his relationship with Y/N, the more danger he put Y/N in. Criminals would use his relationship as a leverage, homing in on the one remaining weakness in Hank’s heart. His superiors would use it to ensure he did what they wanted - it was almost guaranteed given how messed up the policing system was in Chicago.
With a hug and a kiss, and a promise of being safe and coming home ‘in one piece’, Hank was out the door.
The day passed slowly for Y/N – the big boss-man having sent all the employees home for the week (who knows why, the man was eccentric; anyway, it’s not like Y/N was going to complain about having a week doing nothing, all the while still being paid – it just seemed like a win-win). Lunchtime rolled round, and Y/N decided to head up to the 21st district to find Hank – see if he wanted to have an impromptu lunch date at the diner on the corner – the new one with those to-die-for bacon cheeseburgers.
But when Y/N walked in and went to the desk, where he recognised Sergeant Trudy Platt – many a time had Hank talked about his team, Y/N was confident he could name all of them without ever having seen them. “I’m here to see Sergeant Hank Voight. Could you point me in the direction?” “Who’s asking?” Y/N was taken back a bit by the harshness, attempting to brush it off as a bad day on the sergeants part. “Y/N Y/L/N.” “He expecting you?” “Oh, ummm.. no.” The sergeant picked up a phone set behind the desk. “Dawson, there’s a Y/N Y/L/N down here saying he wants to see Voight. Sort it out.” Y/N was shocked. Maybe confused was a better word. He thought Hank would have said something by now about their relationship to his colleagues. Sure, he hadn’t actually met the team – he wasn’t expecting them to recognise him – but at least they would know the name. ‘Oh yes, Hank told me about you.’ ‘He never shuts up about you.’ Okay maybe not ‘Hank’, it seems he goes by ‘Voight’ at work.
By the time Y/N was upstairs, waiting in Hank’s office with the promise he would be back shortly from an errand, he was even more confused.
Hank walked across the bullpen into his office, urgency in his stride, shutting the door behind him with a short bang, turning to Y/N. “Are you okay? What happened? Did you get hurt? Oh god, why did I let this happen
.” So this is what panicked Hank looked like – something of a new vista for Y/N.
“What? No, I’m not hurt, nothing happened. I was just bored at home, so I thought I would come see if you wanted to get lunch together. We’ve yet to try the apple pie at that new diner on the corner.”
“Oh thank god.” Hank knelt down to the floor in front of Y/N, who sat comfortably on the couch, growing more and more befuddled. “Text me next time. Or call; I’ll try to answer. I was so worried.” And now he cradled Y/N’s face in his large, calloused hands, stroking a thumb against the smooth skin of his lover’s face. “Don’t do that to me ever again.” He lent in and placed a kiss on Y/N’s forehead, before looking longingly into his eyes.
Of course, it was in this moment of love being shared between two men who arguably deserved it the most, Ruzek came into the small office (no knock, it’s Ruzek, what do you expect!). “Boss, we’ve got another lead.” Just as quickly as he appeared, he disappeared again.
“Oh shit.”
“You good?!” Y/N giggled at Hank’s exclamative.
“Now they know. Ruzek never keeps things to himself for long.” Y/N raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to one side in a visible confusion. “I hadn’t told them. I wanted to keep you safe. Chicago isn’t a good place – yes there’s criminals, but the system is probably the most messed up thing about this damned city. I thought the less people who know about us, the less danger I put you in.”
“Oh, you stupid man!” Only a small insult said with immense love and adoration. “I knew what I was getting myself into when I said yes to that date. I love you and I don’t care if that means there may be a bit of danger.” Hank smiled. “Come on, get out there. They’ve got a lead and they need their boss to help save the day. We can just put a rain check on lunch.” Y/N ushered Hank out into the bullpen, before leaving back down the stairs to leave the 21st district and go back home; a cosy afternoon on the couch with Y/F/S waiting.
“So, the bloods came back on our John Doe – “ Halstead attempted to brief the team and Voight on their findings so far when Voight interrupted.
“How much do you know?”
Ruzek spoke. “That you like Y/N, that you guys are finally dating or that he moved in with you?”
“You really think you could keep that from me?” Al chimed in.
Hank sighed and waved for Halstead to continue his brief.

dessert
pairing: jay halstead x reader
summary: you and jay have dinner plans late that evening but end up having a night in instead.
word count: 1.4k
warning sexual content.
requested by anon
note: daddy jay is so dominant and possessive! đŸ„”
Tumblr media
"hey daddy what do you think about this place?" you asked, scrolling through your phone.
jay had been at work for the day, your day off was today and he called you earlier to look for a place to eat dinner. when you were on the phone with him you could hear kevin, adam, and hailey near and they were teasing him.
your relationship with jay was a little unusual, you were about fifteen years younger than him. you liked to use that to tease him a lot as well, just like the intelligence team you had the pleasure of meeting. you were close with kim, hailey, and adam.
he brought you to molly's just about every night with his team, even though you couldn't even drink for another year yet. you were the love of his life and he was yours. soulmates.
twenty minutes earlier jay had walked through the door of the apartment you shared together. a towel was wrapped around his waist still from his shower.
he heard your delicate voice calling him so he walked out of the bedroom and glanced around for you. spotting you instantly, sitting on the couch with your natural beauty.
he admired your beautiful looks and sighed softly, adjusting the towel around his waist before walking over.
jay leaned over the back of the couch and laid his arm around your neck and you looked up, giving him a smile. "what's that sweetheart?" he asked.
you showed him your phone, a new restaurant around the block you had yet to try but heard about from a co-worker. while he looked at the screen, you reached your hand behind you to put your fingers through his hair. he moaned at the feeling, like putty in your small hands.
"i'd rather have dessert first." he smirked. you swallowed slowly and looked back into his eyes, seeing him still watching you. his intense stare was something he picked up from being a detective. you looked down, batting your lashes before glancing back up and he kissed your cheek.
just as quick, he was gone and walking back to the bedroom chuckling to himself. you turned your current position on the couch so you were looking backwards and gasped at the audacity he had. "what's so funny?"
"nothing. nothing at all." he shouted back from the room. you shook your head at his response and put your phone down on the table next to you. putting your hand on the couch arm, you used the extra strength to push yourself up quickly so you could get to the bottom of jay's 'joke'.
you padded down the hallway in your fuzzy socks, blowing a piece of hair away from your face. it was in a messy bun but there was a few crazy strands that didn't know what to do with themselves.
you almost reached the door when you started speaking up again. little shit. "jay i'm serious what's fun-" you paused and your eyes took in the view you were getting. "-ny."
jay was propped up with a pillow, his boxers were certainly doing nothing to hide the bulge he was sporting. his arms were behind his head like he had no care in the world. though, his chest was another story. a quite beautiful canvas.
you started from the bottom, eyeing every rip and ripple and squeezed your thighs together, feeling as if the a/c temperature had dropped in the room. by the time you made it to his face, his lips were curled up in a smirk and you narrowed your eyes at his blue ones.
leaning back against the door, your arms were crossed against your chest and you raised a brow at him. he moved his arms back from behind his head and shrugged, patting the spot next to him on the bed. "come here baby."
"make me." you challenged and he shook his head. "you're so innocent it's pretty cute." your cheeks flamed at his statement and before you knew it, you were on the bed climbing on top of him.
"excuse me?" your chest was heaving and he looked down, seeing your tits touching his chest. "mmm, an innocent little-"
before he could finish you leaned down and pushed your lower body against his cock and his breath came out hitched. "i may be cute but i'm not innocent. you should know that daddy." you teased back, using the same tone he had and he smiled.
his hands gripped your hips and you pushed down again, the two of you gasping. "if you lay down, you'll let me have my dessert now, hmm?"
"jay." you moaned when his finger rubbed over your clit. slowly, he turned with you until you were on your back and he pulled your leggings and panties down. you hummed lowly, a little excited when he spread your legs.
he leaned down, kissing the inside of both of your thighs before teasing a finger down your clit and folds. he put his finger to his mouth and licked it, watching you watch his every move. you wiggled a little at his next comment. "wet for your daddy?"
he smirked and held down your thighs before you could close them. "answer me baby or else i won't eat this sweet pussy. who are you wet for?"
he teased your nipple with his finger awaiting your response. tracing and using another to lightly squeeze your tit. you felt tears in the back of your eyes at the teasing sensation, choking out. "you, daddy."
he smiled sincerely and moved the hand from your tit to the side of your head, putting his weight into it and then leaned down to kiss you. his lips brushed along yours for a minute and you leaned up, smashing your lips into his more.
the hand by your thigh moved, his fingers brushing every bit of skin till he reached up to your pussy again. you gasped when he rubbed your clit and he took that opportunity to slip his tongue down your throat, making you moan.
your teeth clashed with his and he pushed his finger down harder, and played with your sensitive bundles quicker. "shit." you whispered between kisses.
he pulled his lips back, licking his lips and pushed back on his thighs so he was in front of your opened thighs again. "such a good girl for me." he murmured before laying down and putting his mouth on your pussy.
he spread your folds and licked every inch, taking up all of your wetness. his lips wrapped around your clit and your eyes widened, looking at him and finishing. he looked into your eyes the whole time while still in a face full of pussy and watched your eyes roll back.
after your orgasm rode out, he got up on his knees, lining himself up and you let out a deep breath when he pushed inside your walls. he pulled out and then pushed inside again, this time going deeper. you put your arms up and grabbed the pillow.
when his cock was fully inside, he started to pound in and out and watched your tits bouncing while trying to find a pace. you chanted. "daddy. daddy. daddy da-woah fuck jay." when he hit a spot that made you explode.
you squeezed tightly around him and after a few more thrusts he came as well, spilling all of his cum inside of your pussy. he collapsed on the bed next to you and you giggled.
he looked at you, with a smile and questioned, "what are you laughing about?"
"guess it sucks not knowing about that, hmm?" you teased. he leaned over, testing your reaction before tickling your stomach. "oh no p-please stop!" you pleaded. "i-i was just laughing about the fact we're going to be so late for d-dinner!" you laughed again, the tickling was about to make you run out of oxygen.
he pulled back and laid back on the bed, "how about we cuddle for a few minutes. then we can shower together to uh you know-"
"-save water and all that bull"? you joked.
he turned on his side and glanced into your eyes. it was still shocking how he landed such a beautiful, sweet, and kind girl like you. some days he wondered it if was a dream that he lived in.
he voiced with a breathless rasp. "yeah and go to dinner after that?" you nodded and scooted over so he could put his arm around you.
three hours later you leaned over, giving him a kiss before stating. "thank you for dinner tonight," you paused, and then added a little louder in his ear, "daddy."
he groaned, still half-asleep and waking up from the nap that you guys had. the two of you never made it to dinner. he knew exactly how to rile you up with the next comment he made.
"at least i had dessert."

doctor, doctor - jay halstead
Tumblr media
jay halstead x fem!reader
summary: in which y/n takes it into her own hands to look after a sick jay
a/n: i’m not gonna lie i think this is one of my fav things i’ve ever written, i would really appreciate some feedback and p.s the beginning of it is based on that scene from brooklyn 99 :)
masterlist
“okay, it’s 10 o’clock, meaning halstead is officially an hour late to work,” y/n announced as she appeared from the break room with a mug of poorly made coffee. looking around, she had immediately distracted everyone in the room with her playful smile. “okay let’s do this, theories!” she encouraged, taking a sip with excitement, but immediately regretting it as s he spat it back in the mug and abandoned it on adam’s desk as she leant against it.
“uh, he forgot to set his alarm?” antonio suggested, willing to play along with the little game that y/n had created. however clearly his answer didn’t suffice as y/n scrunched up her nose and shook her head in disappointment.
“you are a detective in a unit that just last week rescued 5 people kidnapped and used as chess pieces in a human sized version of the game and the best you could come up with is he forgot to set his alarm? pfft, disappointing, dawson. who’s willing to take this seriously?” she scoffed, brushing his idea off with a simple roll of the eyes as the group laughed at her ridiculousness.
“maybe he has been murdered by a gang looking for revenge.” adam piped up, earning a sudden and rather forceful slap on the back as y/n cheered. her eyes looking over at antonio as she gestured towards the less experienced detective.
“yes, that’s what i’m talking about. bit dark, ruzek, but better than dawson’s,” y/n hummed, adam clearly pleased with the praise he had received by the pretty detective. “any one else wanna shot?” she offered it out into the room, suddenly the sound of rolling wheels on the chair had everyone turn to face al who was munching on a ham sandwich.
“he walked into the middle of a drug ring, slept with the kingpins daughter and is now having limbs removed, one by the hour.” suddenly an eery silence fell in the bullpen as al suddenly disappeared back to his desk and everyone was left with an image that she was sure was burned on the inside of everyones mind.
“uh, okay, someone might want to arrange a psych check for olinsky asap,” y/n mumbled, pointing in the direction where he had once been and looking around as if checking that she hadn’t been the only one to hear al’s suggestion. “anyways, all of you are wrong. clearly he has joined a motorbike gang and now makes his money on the road striking off names on the government’s hit list.”
just as the room erupted into discussion about how idiotic this conversation was, as well as their ideas, the sound of footsteps caught y/n’s attention as she arrived at her desk. however as he reached the floor, the reason for his absence was clear.
“woah, you look like death.” adam chuckled, it immediately being silenced as jay sent a deadly glare his way. with his skin paler than normal with undertones of green, a layer of sweat draped over his forehead. jay flashed as smile at y/n as he passed, reaching his desk and collapsing on his chair with a wince.
as everyone went back to what they were doing, y/n found herself straying her eyes away from her computer screen for longer and longer periods of time until she found herself by his side with a sickly sweet grin, pun intended.
“i don’t wanna hear it, y/l/n.” jay mumbled, massaging his temples with his fingers hoping it would somehow sooth his pounding skull. whilst usually he had every minute of his day just to hear the woman chat away about whatever crossed her mind, he had found himself in quite the state since last night, leaving him restless and irritable.
“believe it or not, i just wanted to make sure you were alright,” y/n’s entire demeanour crumbled as she melted at the soft features of his face that came with being so vulnerable. but from the look in jay’s eyes, it was clear he didn’t 100% believe her excuse. “and to ask what the hell you think you are doing here? you are sick jay, you need to rest.”
it was very rare that jay found himself ill. in the years that y/n had been working by the man’s side, she could count on one hand the times she had seen him with so much as a cough. in fact she had called him captain immune system for a period of time when she realised he was pretty much indestructible. y/n couldn’t deny the concern bubbling in her gut seeing him so weak.
“i’m fine,” with her eyes slitted in a look that practically shouted ‘bullshit’, jay continued. “i promise, it’s just a little cold. nothing serious, i think i’ll survive.” he joked dryly, finding it incredibly hard to look away from y/n for her eyes were filled with a warmth that he knew was an expression usually saved for those she cared deeply about.
“yeah well, you need to take care of yourself, jay, i’m being serious. chicago can cope if you just have one day off, get your energy back.”
y/n was reminded of the times she had the exact same words spoken to her by the exact person that didn’t seem to want to take them onboard. every time she had so much as a sniffle he would be straight over with some soup that his mother used to swear by and the name of a box set that he would put on for the two of them to watch as he sat stroking her hair in order to try and convince her body to rest. neither of them had anyone else to take care of them, so had taken it upon themselves to be that person for the other.
“now, i’m gonna go tell voight that i’m taking you home before you infect this whole office.” before he could object, she had already ran (not literally but jay was impressed by her speed walking) to her boss’ office. knocking on the door, with a sweet smile and a sea of words running off her tongue so quickly that voight had to agree just to shut her up, y/n returned by his side. “come on, germ face, your carriage awaits.”
“you know i love it when you talk dirty to me, y/l/n.” winking at her, y/n giggled as she supported him back down the stairs and out of the station. the two chatted away, y/n explaining how she thought al was secretly a sociopath and jay filing her in on the newest instalment of his apartment block drama until they pulled up in front of jay’s apartment building.
as they walked through the door, jay’s arm resting around y/n’s shoulders as he struggled to find strength, they managed to reach the sofa before y/n’s body gave up. both of them letting out large breathes before looking at each other and falling into laughter.
“you hungry, i could try making your mom’s soup?” y/n asked, as she pushed herself up to look down at the man. her hair falling down around her face and tickling jay’s skin. “i’m sure it won’t be as good as her’s but i’m willing to give it a try.”
the way she was sat with the large window gleaming light behind her, y/n almost looked like an angel. her eyes and smile were wide, with her beauty wrapping its hands around jay’s neck squeezing until his head felt light and he nearly reached up to touch her porcelain skin. but jay had noticed the sensation way before he was blocked up with a cold.
“yeah, uh, that sounds nice.” jay agreed with a minimal amount of sass, but y/n didn’t seem to notice as she moved off the cushions and towards the kitchen. she had pretty much memorised the recipe when jay had finally given it to her on her birthday after offering to pay for it multiple times. whizzing around the kitchen, she was too busy to notice the tired eyes admiring her from afar.
jay wished his mom was alive to see the woman that she would have loved. all the times he had brought girls back to his family when he was younger didn’t add up to an ounce of the beauty and power that y/n held in her middle finger. the way she bit back at his wit, but also had the ability to spot when he was upset from the other side of the city. she was everything her mother wanted in a daughter in law, everything she wanted for her little boy.
“okay, give me your honest opinion. i can take it i promise.” y/n sudden appeared with a tray that held a large bowl of the semi-thick orange liquid, a glass of water and a couple pills. approaching jay, she carefully helped him up from where he laid and placed it onto his lap. “actually that was a complete lie, do not tell me the truth. i may just cry.”
“why thank you, nurse y/l/n.” he teased.
“it’s doctor actually.” she quipped back.
jay chuckled lowly, as he grabbed the spoon and took a large spoonful to his mouth. feeling the slight sting of his tongue at the heat, it was only when the flavours hit that he was suddenly transported to an earlier time in his life. a simpler time. only this time there was y/n by his side.
“the verdict?” she prompted, taking a seat besides him, pulling her knees up to her chest.
“not sure whether i want to tell you, don’t think you’ll fit in this room if your ego grows any bigger.” y/n grinned as she leaned over to press a kiss against his shoulder. jay closed his eyes at the contact, feeling the ache in his body freeze for a moment as it registered the tingling sensation. “all jokes aside, it really is good.”
“i’m glad, your mother was a smart woman.” she nodded, leaning forward to turn tv on. jay continued to spoon the soup into his mouth, as y/n chose a show that they both had started together and had refused to watch another minute without the other. y/n leaned back making herself comfortable, having already texted voight telling him that she would most likely need the entire day off, and getting the go ahead, she had no plans other than being by jay’s side for the next however many hours.
it was sometime in the early evening and the tv continued to emit light, but neither jay nor y/n was paying any attention to the drama. jay, with his head on y/n lap, was leaning into her touch as her short, thin fingers ran through the dark strands that sprouted from his scalp. his body wrapped in a blanket that y/n had grabbed from his room, he felt completely at peace.
“you know what, i think you are more bearable when you are at death’s door.” y/n joked quietly, as the forest green eyes were exposed back to her own. jay groaned in annoyance, realising that there was no sweet y/n without the sharped tongue y/n. a trait he adored, but at his own expense.
“and to think i was starting to think you had gone soft on me, y/l/n.” he hummed, wishing he could forever have her giggle on repeat wherever he went, for the sound made goosebumps run down his neck and down his arms, like some kind of magic that only y/n possessed.
“as much as i love you, i can’t risk my bad ass reputation for you.”
although jay was sure it was just part of her banter, the moment the ‘i love you’ fell off her tongue, he found himself wide awake, unable to push past the feeling in his gut as it looped over again and again in his mind. y/n could see the conflict in his face, as he glanced up at her with something she had never noticed before.
“you mean it?” he asked.
“mean what?” confused, her fingers fell from his hair, making jay regret ever opening his mouth.
“do you really, you know, love me?” he knew he had committed too far to try and retreat. maybe he could blame it on the fact he couldn’t think straight, although she was like a lie detector that wouldn’t let such a bogus excuse pass. y/n blinked down at him, watching as he sat up to look at her with a hunger that needed to be addressed. swallowing the lump in her throat, y/n nodded.
“of course, you are one of my best friends, jay.” it was true, but it wasn’t the full truth, both of them knew that.
“i didn’t realise we had started lying to one another,” jay’s eyes were soft, as he reached to place his hand against her cheek, smiling as she slowly leaned into it. closing her eyes, she tried to find what direction she was looking for, but didn’t dare take the first step. without even thinking, jay jutted forward and captured her lips before they could form a single syllable.
gently, but passionately, jay and y/n moved their lips against the others. the feeling was ever-growing as the kiss deepened and deepened until they had no choice to pull back, deprived of their ability to breath. as jay’s eyes came back into view, y/n, for the first time in her life, had lost the ability to form a sentence.
“we just...” she began but it ran off quickly. jay chuckled.
“we did.”
the two sat in silence, examining the other one’s face until y/n found herself moving forward until she was sat in his lap, legs wrapped around his waist as she pressed her lips against his. just like before their bodies and minds were set ablaze with desire and what had remained unspoken for what felt like forever. jay had nearly completely forgotten about the illness that had put him in the care of the woman that he craved more than anything else the world had to offer.
as their lips parted ways, suddenly the air had thinned and everything felt... normal. jay’s lips were unable to break out of the large grin mould that y/n had put them in, which was soon mirrored by the young woman. a small giggle escaping her lips.
“if i get whatever it is you have, i expect the exact same treatment.”
“only for you, doctor y/l/n.”

To Outlive the Devil
Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader
Summary: A good save and a case practically solved leads to intelligence almost losing one of their own. Can you get out before it’s too late?
Notes: Canon violence, nothing worse than a typically dark episode. This is a past and present cut together story and it’s just shy of 4k.
Tumblr media
Now
Your bleary eyes open up to a cold and damp bedroom. An abandoned
apartment? The peeling wallpaper had given way to yellow stained drywall. From the small window on your left, it appeared as if you were several stories in the air, but there were no distinguishable landmarks that told you if you were even still in Chicago.
As you begin to come to your senses more, you feel the thick rope tied around your wrists and ankles. The rough material burns against you skin and you notice you already have sores.
How long have I been here?
Your memory is fuzzy and your head throbbed violently. It isn’t until you shift uncomfortably that you realize it’s a heavy metal chair you’re tied to.
Slowly your body begins to pick up on the danger your muddled brain had managed to identify and your pulse begins to quicken. As much as you try, your heartbeat continues to pound in your head as you try to twist your arms free.
The pain that responds is only a small price to pay for even the chance of freedom. Desperately, you continue to twist and pull until one of the knots manages to loosen up enough for you to squeeze your hand out. It’s just a short sprint to the front door in front of you.
You will your frozen fingers to work faster as you pinch and tear at each knot and then internally scream at your stiff muscles to carry you forward just a little bit more.
When your hand reaches the doorknob and it isn’t locked, relief floods your system. But when you’re able to wrench the door open, the person behind the door barely registers in your mind before everything goes black once again.
Then
Jay leans against his fist on his desk and tries to keep his frustration at bay. They’d been at this for two days straight and had been on the case for the last three months. “That’s two bodies in as many weeks. Is no one else starting to think
”
“That maybe hunting Chicago’s very own Criminal Minds level serial killer couple is out of our depth?” You interrupt, tilting your head towards him. “Doubt it.”
In fact, over the last two weeks, it’s the only thing you could think about. A younger woman named Madison roped, at least you were hoping she wasn’t a willing participant, into a horrific and violent life by a man you had yet to learn the identity of. You’d spent many nights pacing your bedroom, ranting and theorizing to Jay when all he wanted was just a bit of sleep.
The further you dove into it, however, the less hopeful you became for a quick arrest.
Voight had about ripped your head off when you suggested passing the case to the FBI and got to hear the ‘this is our city’ speech once again. But the truth was you were running out of ideas, running out of leads to chase down the rabbit hole, and running out of time.
“I hate to say it, but Voight’s right.” Antonio almost looks pained, but he continues on before you can question him. “The first time these two surfaced five years ago, CPD went full force. They shut it all down, had every uniform pulling overtime, and tried to smoke them out. Instead, it scared them into hiding.”
“Five girls in three months, Dawson, they’re escalating.” You take a breath before looking him in the eyes. “I can’t keep notifying parents.” There’s a certain pang in your voice only those who have had to watch a parent’s life crumble around them can hear. Jay reaches out to squeeze your forearm for just a bit of comfort and you run your fingers over his.
It’s enough.
“Then we end this.” Voight’s eyeing you, sympathetic to where you’re coming from, but not willing to give up yet. “Let’s find these monsters and make them pay.”
Pinching the bridge of your nose, you nod and turn to Adam. “Ok, let’s go over everything together, see if we can find something we missed.”
“Since it’s all we have, let’s revisit the address on Madison’s unemployment file.” Jay suggests.
Adam looks confused. “The house was condemned last year, torn down in the spring.”
“I know, but what about the name on the house, did anyone look into it?”
“Figured it was a stolen identity.” Kevin pipes up. “Clara Knight, died in 2012 of a heart attack at 66. No other properties in her name.”
“Knight?” Mouse perks up and starts shifting through his files. “I found a few erased emails from a Robert Knight, but I couldn’t find any relation or connection.”
Adam is already typing ferociously. “Got a death certificate for a Robert Knight, 68, died a few months ago. Seems like the guy barely existed.”
“Any children?”
“A daughter.” His face is grim. “Murdered in 99, she was 16.”
The hairs on the back of your neck prickle. “Pull up a picture of her.” You don’t need to see it to confirm what you already feared, but still the image of her face churns your stomach. A beautiful blonde girl with the hope of the whole world in her smile. “He’s been at this a lot longer than anyone thought.”
“Any property still in his name?” Voight asks.
Anxiety rippling through your chest, it feels like an eternity before Mouse nods. “His nephew Isaac put his house in Roseland on a tax form.”
Now
When you come to, the first thing you notice is that your restraints have been changed to zip ties and for a moment you’re concerned about your circulation. You’re worry is cut short by the cup of water on a table to your right, the plastic straw close enough for you to reach it.
The sudden realization of the searing pain in your throat and the cracked skin on your lips lets you know it’s probably been about two days. It’s the dryness of your tongue that overrides every single rational thought of concern that maybe the glass beside you isn’t safe to drink. But, fifteen minutes pass with no incident so whoever it is probably wants to keep you alive.
The thought sends ice down your back.
Alive for what?
“What do you want from me?” You scream into the empty apartment.
Then
“We need a vacation after this.” Jay declares as he leans the seat of the car back a little. “Somewhere warm with water so I can look at you in a tiny bathing suit all day.”
You roll your eyes, but he doesn’t miss the small smile you give before bringing the binoculars up again. “We’ll see what we can do about that.”
“Hey lovebirds.” Adam calls over the radio from the car down the street from yours. “Have you seen anything yet or are you too busy staring into each other’s eyes again?”
It’s Jay’s turn to roll his eyes. “Didn’t you just take your third piss break?”
“Hydration is very important.” He defends.
“I told him to wear the diapers.” Alvin adds. Adam tries to defend himself, but you can barely hear him over Kevin’s laughter next to him.
Just then, out of the corner of your eye, you see the movement of a curtain, the flash of blonde hair, and the air shifts. Jay immediately catches the tense set of your shoulders and starts asking questions.
“They’ve got a girl up there.” You tell him through gritted teeth.
“Are you sure? I didn’t see anything.”
You nod and get out of the car despite the hushed protests from Jay as he follows you. To do what? You weren’t sure yet but you had felt so powerless these last few months that maybe you weren’t being the most rational right now.
The curtain moves again and, rather than getting caught, you quickly spin around and push Jay against the car before crashing your lips to his. Other than a noise of shock sounding from the back of his throat, he doesn’t miss a beat.
“North corner window.” You mumble against his lips and slide your hands up his chest, tilting your head to the side to give him a better angle.
When he pulls away, he brings his phone up and looks you in the eye. “We’ve got confirmation on the nephew Isaac, but he’s got another girl up there. If we bust in, he might get spooked and hurt her.”
It’s quiet longer than either of you would like.
“What should we do, boss?” Adam asks for you.
“Do you think you can get in quietly?” Voight asks.
Jay waits for your nod. “We’re on it. Going silent.”
Picking the lock was nothing. Sneaking around a house you know nothing about except for a quick glance at a blueprint from 2005 was the difficult part. Jay splits the two of you up, sending you upstairs while he clears the lower level. Circumstance didn’t allow you the option to argue with him that splitting up in a situation like this is the worst thing to do.
He was your partner and it was your job to always have his back, as difficult as he makes it, but he’s rounded a corner into the living room before you get the chance to cuff him to you.
Your breath catches in your throat when a step on the stairs creak, but you keep moving until you find a girl in the second room you clear. She’s blind folded with on leg tied to the bed. She tenses when you approach, but relaxes once you’ve gotten close enough to whisper who you are.
“Tracey.” She says he name with a whimper and your heart breaks as you cut the rope and take off her blindfold.
When she sees you’re really who you say you are, she throws herself into your arms and begins to cry. There’s nothing more you want to do than to sit here and comfort her, but your ears picks up on a man’s voice you don’t recognize.
“Ok, Tracey, I know you’re so scared, and I can’t imagine what you’ve been through, but I need you to be brave a little longer.” You pull back and look her in the eyes. “My partner and I came in here alone. I need you to tell me where the man and woman who took you are.”
She nods. “I don’t know where she went, she left a while ago. He’s here, downstairs I think, in his office.”
There’s a crash downstairs, the sound of broken glass and your blood runs cold. Immediately, you look for any other way out, but there’s nothing. No balcony, no window, nothing. Voight’s on the radio already, but you silence him.
“Stay directly behind me.” There’s a kind of urgency in your voice that puts her even more on edge.
Creeping down the stairs, you can hear Jay struggling in the kitchen, but it sounds like he’s holding his own.
“Bringing the girl out.” You whisper into your radio and glance back at Tracey. “As soon as we get down, I want you to run to the door. Do not stop. When you get across the street there are people who will help you.” She nods but she looks terrified. “I swear I won’t let him get anywhere near you.”
It’s the door opening that alerts Isaac that something else is going on. You round the corner with your gun drawn and the scene before you makes your knees weak.
Jay is bruised and cut up, struggling against the man behind him, the arm around his neck, the gun pointed at his head.
“She said you were cops, but I told her she was paranoid.” Isaac snarls.
“Madison? Is she here?” You ask, your voice as level as your gun trained on his head. Voight is yelling over the radio, but you tune him out. “I’d love to meet her.”
He snickers and smiles wickedly. “Even if she could be caught, neither of you will be alive long enough to see it.”
He only manages a twitch before you pull the trigger and land a shot right between his eyes.
Jay falls forward, breathing heavy and you rush towards him. “Jay’s hurt!” You call out when the door is broken down. Adam kicks the gun away from the obviously dead suspect and you let them handle the scene.
“Where does it hurt? Did you get hit? I told you it was stupid to split us up! How’s your breathing?” Your hands are frantically searching every inch of his body. He has to grab your hand and grip it tight in his to stop the assault of questions rapid firing from your lips.
He sits up with a groan and kisses your knuckles when he sees the panic on your face. “I’m okay. Because of you it’s just a few cuts and bruises.” He manages a smile and you almost cry right there.
Voight places a hand on your shoulder. “Tracey is on her way to Med. Medics said she’s going to be okay. We’ve got another bus on the way for you. Nice work you two.”
Now
The creak from the front door opening pulls you from a daze and you wince at the sunlight flooding the room. A blonde woman stands before you with a duffle in her left hand and a gun in her right.
She tilts her head to the side. “You’re still alive. What a shame.”
You struggle to focus your eyes from the concussion you’re assuming she must’ve given you. “Maddison.” You croak out. “What are you doing?”
She drops the duffle next to you and grips your hair to pull your head back, pushing the barrel of the gun into your temple.
“I’m going to make you suffer.” She hisses and roughly lets you go. “I tried to warn him that you were watching us, but he wouldn’t listen.”
“Isaac?”
“Don’t say his name!” She screams and the sound cracks through your skull. “He told me to get some supplies, but when I cam back, I watched from the back window as you murdered him.”
You shake your head and try to reason with her. “Maddison, he was hurting people. He was going to kill my partner.”
“Partner.” She repeats sarcastically. “You mean Jay Halstead, your boyfriend of 3 years?” Maddison moves in front of you to revel in the fear that has filled your eyes and smiles sinisterly. “Yeah, I know who he is.”
You start quickly, the panic in your voice betraying the training you were struggling to hold onto. “If you want to kill me fine, do it. But don’t hurt him, Maddison. Please, he’s done nothing.”
She tsks as she opens the duffle and begins to pull out long metal pieces until finally, a long-barreled shot gun. “Why would I kill you when the alternative is so much better?”
You begin to struggle against the restraints as your mind starts to put together scenario after scenario of awful images. Maddison pays no mind to you begging and pleading to see reason. Instead, she pauses from building some contraption to walk over to you and jam a needle in your neck.
When you come too again, she’s sat casually in front of you. “I thought hitting you in the head again might actually kill you, and that’s not what I’m going for, so
 you’re welcome.”
You glance around again and notice the barrel of the shotgun behind you just to the left of your shoulder. “Yeah, thanks.” You deadpan looking back at her. “What’s with the ‘Saw’ set up?”
She raises a brow. “Hold onto that strength while you can.” She points out the wires and hooks running along the floor and ceiling to trace it back to the door in front of you. “I used to be a STEM major. Did you know that?” She doesn’t stop long enough for you to respond. “Turns out I still remember a few things.”
You stare past her towards the door and then look quickly back to the gun, beginning to piece together her plan.
“Yes.” She coos. “It’s exactly what you’re thinking. The first person that opens that door, if he happens to be the right height, will get a life ending shot to the face. And I’d like to ask you what the chances are that anyone other than your boyfriend will be the first through the door.”
None.
For the first time you feel utterly defeated, hopeless. Madison watches closely, soaking in every moment of your anguish.
“Now you’ll know what it feels like.”
Then
You phone buzzes for the fourth time in the last hour. “Yes?”
“He’s actually insufferable, where are you?” Will speaks quickly, his tone seeping in irritation.
You laugh. “April already sent me out to get him food because he was whining so much. I am in route with a burger and some other stuff from his favorite place. Should be there in 15.”
“Thank god.” He says quietly. “Would you give it a rest? She’s 15 out with enough food to hopefully put you in a coma so I don’t have to.” You laugh as Will continues to yell at his brother.
“I almost died! Where’s your compassion?” You hear Jay yell back and only laugh harder
“You have ONE bruised rib and a concussion. I’ve seen high school football players handle worse with less complaining!”
“If it’s not so bad, why won’t you let me leave?!”
“I’m stepping up the pace, be there soon.” You laugh and hang up.
The Chicago night was chilly, but something else causes the hairs on the back of your neck begin to prickle. You don’t stop walking, don’t even pause a single step. Instead, you glance in a shop window and catch the reflection of a woman, a flash of blonde, not too far behind you.
Casually, you switch the bag of food to your other hand, but before you’re able to grab your gun, there’s a pinch in your neck and everything goes black.
Now
Jay had forced his way back to work sooner than anyone recommended. You’d been missing for 5 days. Disappeared with no trace other than your cell phone and a bag of cold diner food spilt on the sidewalk. If it were up to him, he would’ve been at his desk the moment 30 minutes hit and you weren’t there.
Alvin called two hours later telling him what they found and Adam and Antonio had to physically restrain him, Will almost sedated him. Voight promised him that they’d find you, and Jay knew they’d do everything they could, but he needed to be a part of the search.
“Did she have any enemies?” Alvin asks and he doesn’t flinch when Jay begins to laugh sarcastically.
“Any enemies? Do you hear yourself? She had tons. We all do. But let’s stop pretending like her being taken the day we closed that case isn’t connected.”
Alvin tries to sympathize with him. “We have to ask. You know the drill.”
He throws his hands up in exasperation. “Are you seriously going to treat this like any other missing person? It’s Y/N, Al! Y/N!”
“We know.” Voight says from his office door. “I made a few calls, Jay, we know where she is.” For a fraction of a second, Jay is frozen, but the thought of what you could be going through right now moves him. He’s grabbed his jacket and is in the car before anyone else has moved.
“I thought only the CIA had access to things like that.” Adam whispers lowly in the car into Kevin’s ear.
He shrugs. “Do think it’s out of the question that he’d break several constitutional laws to save any one of us?”
Adam sits back in his seat with pursed lips, nodding.
You struggle against the restraints long after Madison leaves you with only a gag in your mouth. The multiple cars pulling up and all the people shouting told you that you were running out of time. As of this very moment, you were locked into your fate of watching the man you loved die.
This was not an option.
The hard plastic digs into your ankles and wrists, your movements quickening with each door you hear them break down. You try to scream, to warn whoever was on this floor that there was a danger they couldn’t possibly see, but your muffled cries wouldn’t carry.
Tears soak the bandana shoved in in your mouth and you try to scream again.
No! Stop! It isn’t safe!
You hear Voight’s voice a few doors down and begin to try and rock the chair back and forth. It was considered heavy for a good day, and today was not that. Having not eaten or really moved in so long had left you weak and foggy. The adrenaline coursing through you veins only aiding a little in your efforts.
The sound of the front door breaking down sends a jolt of energy through you and you send yourself flying in front of the gun just as the bedroom door opens.
Jay raises his weapon at the sound before his brain can register what has happened. His wide eyes find yours just before you’ve hit the ground.
“Y/N!” He screams and rushes towards you. Frantic, shaky hands move quickly to remove the bandana and zip ties before applying pressure to your shoulder. “I need a medic!” He calls franticly over his shoulder, but when he turns back to you, he has to shut down the thought that you might not make it that long.
“You found me.” You try to say, but instead sputter blood onto your cheek.
“Oh, God.” He gasps. “You’re okay, you’re going to be fine.” But the more he says, the less you hear him.
“I love you.” You try to reach out to his face and graze his cheek, but your fingers won’t cooperate and only leave smudges of blood across his skin.
When your breathing starts to quicken and become more raged, he knows time is running out. So, in defiance of the orders and suggestions coming in through his ear piece, he lifts you up to cradle you to him and runs.
**
An annoying, incessant beeping is the only thing you can hear, but when you move to reach for it, a shooting pain stops you cold. You groan softly and pry your eyes open only to see both Will and Antonio hovering too close to your face.
Will starts to wave a flashlight in your eyes and you push him away. “When was the last time you guys brushed your teeth?”
Antonio chuckles softly and places his hand atop your head, his thumb brushing softly. “We got her.” He says quietly. “She couldn’t help herself. She stayed close to the scene to see the fallout and Kim caught her.”
Will nods his head towards Jay who was sleeping soundly in what you had to imagine was a very uncomfortable position. “We’ve been keeping an eye on him as well as you. Do you want me to wake him?”
You look back over at him and smile before turning back. “Better not. These are the last few moments of peace I’ll get for the next year at least. You would think someone would be a little more grateful towards you for saving their life, but I can already hear how mad he’s going to be.” Only a small part of you is joking.
“Well, I’ll get shot next time and we’ll see how you feel.” Jay’s sleep riddled voice carries from the corner, but he hasn’t opened his eyes yet. “I’ll give you an hour.” He adds before settling back in.
Now that’s the love of my life.

TL;DR - Taking requests for CPD oneshots/prompts
Itching for more Voight content

If anyone has an ask or would like to submit a prompt for me to write, please let me know! I love writing oneshots and have been itching for Hank lately, especially due to the events of 11x7 (-_-)
I also will write Antonio Dawson if requested. Other characters possible, at my discretion.
I don’t write smut, but I will walk the line. See my already written oneshots on my alt accounts, @musntbill and @random-weird-fandoms, linked below.

Snowed in~ Pt 1 (H.V)
It was a could winter day in Chicago and just the much of the Intelligence Unit they had been snowed into a freezing cold district
The team all had their jackets on and were talking and laughing
Y/N was off to the side looking at her laptop when Hank came up to her
"Here" he said handing her a cup of hot coffee
"Thank you" she said with a kind smile he just nodded and sat down across from her as she took a sip of her coffee and went back to looking at her laptop
"You don't talk much do you?" Hank asked
"Hmm?" She said looking up from her laptop Hank just gave her a look "Uh no" she said after a second
"Can I ask why" he said and she just simply shrugged her shoulders and with that he dropped the topic and she went back on her laptop
HOURS LATER
The snow hadn't stopped falling and roads were still all closed and the district was freezing so everyone did what they could to stay warm
Antonio and Adam had gone into the gym and started boxing
Erin and Jay were sitting to gether on the floor next to Jays desk
Kim and Hayley were wrapped in blankets they kept under their desks
Kevin was just doing paper work
And Hank was just sitting at his desk on his phone when he glanced up at were Y/N had been sitting as she watched something on her laptop
Hank got up from his desk and went and leaned on the entrance to his office
"How's everyone doin" He asked and everyone said okay and good and fine and when he realized Y/N hadn't said anything he spoke up
"Y/N u got a sec" he asked and when she didn't reply he walked over to her and only then did he get her attention
"Hmm" she hummed as she took her head phones out
"A word please" he said and she stood up and followed him into his office once they were both in he shut the door
"Are you okay?" he asked with concern written all over his face
"Yeah I'm fine" she said as she crossed her arms over her chest
"Huh" he mumbled then went behind his desk and pulled a sweat shirt out and went back over to her and handed it to her
"Here your shaking" he said as he handed her a grey champs sweat shirt she gave him a kind smile and slipped her thin cardigin off and pulled the sweatshirt on over the thin white t-shirt she had been wearing
"Thank you" she said quietly which he just nodded at then his phone rang so she went back to her desk while hank answered his phone
Around midnight
Almost everyone on the team had changed into comfy clothes and fallen asleep the only people awake were Hank and Y/N
"Hey" Hank said as he came over to Y/N who was sitting on the couch in the break room since it was empty
"Whatcha doin" he asked
"Nothing watching movies" she said as she yawned and he nodded
"Can I" he asked referring to staying to watch with her and she nodded so they settled in and watched at least 3 movies before Y/N laid her head down on Hank shoulder and fell asleep as he ran his fingers threw her hair
And on this day she realized she was falling in love with her boss

Dying for Love
Can you do a Jay Halstead imagine where he enlists the help of intelligence to propose to his girlfriend who is also Trudy's daughter? I was thinking because she’s  a doctor they ask her to come and "help out" a "victim" who wont go to hospital
Tumblr media
Being Trudy Platt’s daughter had it’s perks. One of those perks was that you meant your amazing boyfriend of over 3 years Jay Halstead.
You were an emergency room doctor and you meant Jay when he came in to the ER with some on the job injuries.
He recognized your last name Platt and found it funny he never meant you  before.
You were the one to ask him out on a date. You were the one who said i love you first and you were the one who asked him to move in with you.
Your mother was Trudy Platt, you were a badass, take charge women . That’s one of the reason’s Jay loved you so much because you were so take charge and independent.
Jay knew he had his hands full trying to find the right proposal. He kept going over and over in his head how it would happen but he couldn’t get it right.
He scrapped every idea in his head until he went to the only other person he knew could help platt
So jay went to your mom for help and the perfect plan came into action.
You were on call that day.
Kevin and Kim came into the ER and you saw them and walked over to them.
“ Hey Hey how’s it going Y/N long time no see.” Kevin said
“Yeah where have you been hiding? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever.” Kim said as she embraced you in a hug where you reciprocated it back.
“Yeah i know it’s been crazy busy over here but Jay keeps me in the loop with everything.”
They both laughed at it and then you finally asked what brought them in here.
“We have this patient who is refusing to go to med and we thought you could help he’s in pretty bad shape and with your expertise we thought you could help.” Kim said
You quickly agreed and hurried up told Maggie where you were going and the 3 of you ran out to the car and to the scene.
who wouldn’t come to the hospital and they were in pretty severe shape. So of course you packed up your stuff and told Nat that you were leaving.
You pulled up to the scene. It was at a park and there was a man laying on the floor and you couldn’t see much but once you took in  the scene you saw Mouch and your mom there and even will he was in his scrubs.
Intelligence was standing around and all glanced up at you when you arrived.
Kevin and Kim showed you to the patient and you followed them wondering what was going on. You didn’t hear anything on the news
This was weird but then maybe there was more than one victim because the park was pretty crowded with people.
You ran up and every one was whispering when you walked up and instantly you felt sick to your stomach when you saw laying there on his back.
There were some cuts around his face and he was laying there on the ground. You ran over to him and yelled
“Omg are you dead?” you said rushing to his side. You have no idea why this blurted out.
You heard some snickers and this confused you even more
Jay popped up scaring the hell out of you
“I’m Not dead but i am dying to Marry you.” he said while kneeling down and pulling out a ring.
He had this cheeky smile and you looked around to everyone recording and smiling.
You were pretty mad and confused like he scared the hell out of you. But then Joy and happiness took over and you didn’t even think about it
“Yes of course I will you giant idiot.” you said
He got up and kissed you and slid the ring on your finger. It was beautiful. You knew it belonged to his mom; he showed it to you before.
“If this is how you purpose to me you better not have any more surprises up your sleeve for the wedding. I wanna make it long enough for the honeymoon.” You told him leaning in and kissing him.
It was a round of applause and laughter and honestly maybe it was you being a Platt but you kinda wanted to propose to him.
