Disneyland

a/n: This story is 100% completely fictional and written by me. I do NOT own any rights; all rights go to The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries. I am NOT affiliated with the Disney company, name, or any corporations thereof.
For two weeks, Robin, Nancy, and I had been listening to the radio. There was a contest from a few stations in Indianapolis where a caller had to answer three questions correctly, and they would get three free tickets to Disneyland. It was something about Disney wanting to get more attractions, and they were sending tickets around the United States to get people into their park. Obviously, there was a catch, though. It’s like one of those timeshares, you have to sit and listen to an orientation for two hours. It wasn’t just the one who got the tickets, but each of your guests. Along with that, you had to go to the publication booth and do video promos. It wasn’t so bad. We all wanted to do a trip together anyway this summer. The past couple of months had been painful from Vecna, Eddie almost dying, and the town nearly being torn apart. We needed this break from everything, and because we will be in California, we can visit El and the Byers.
“C’mon! Pick up, pick up, pick up!” Robin yelled, holding the phone to her ear, and walking back and forth across the kitchen. There was a rumor that Indianapolis alone had a set of fifteen park entrance tickets to win. We were determined to win all of them, if not most.
Nancy was making a snack while we were on our fifth call of the day. I sat at the island counter making poster signs for the lemonade stand. We didn’t all have money saved, or were rich like Steve. We fundraised outside of Hawkins in the better and richer towns. Robin wanted to fundraise like we were displaced homeless orphans, but Nancy’s moral compass heart completely died inside. Eddie didn’t have a problem with it either, but we all agreed to be honest. Especially knowing we’re doing video promos and they’ll definitely see our faces.
“Hello, Caller! Are you ready to answer some questions?” Joe, the radio host, asked Robin. She rolled her eyes, with an enthusiastic “yeah!”. She answered all the questions right and screamed so loud that Joe muted her. Nancy and I laughed, telling her to gather the information. Once she hung up, we jumped up and down happily.
“Yes! We got six tickets! Count ‘em, Y/N.” Robin pointed to me, as I chuckled and made a note in our planner.
“Alright, I’ve called, and so has Robin. Y/N you’re up.” Nancy handed me the phone as Robin and I switched spots. I stood against the wall, calling a different radio station. The dial tone rang seven times before the line went dead. I called like that two more times before the radio host picked up.
“Hey, Caller! Who do we have here?” Ron was patched through.
“Hey, Ron! I’m Y/N.” I chuckled, looking at the girls. They both rolled their eyes.
“Y/N, it’s your lucky day. If you can answer these three questions correctly, you get three free Disneyland Park entrance tickets!” He paused for a second. “Are you ready?”
“Absolutely. Bring it on.” I covered my mouth, trying not to laugh.
“Fiesty, okay. What year did Disneyland open?” Ron quizzed.
“1955, making this year the 31st anniversary.” I focused in.
“Correct, and with more trivia too! Next question, what is the name of Wendy’s dog in the Disney film, Peter Pan?” I could hear the smirk from over here.
“Oh, Ron. It’s Nana, of course.” I rolled my eyes. Nancy and Robin high-fived.
“Correct again. Now for the toughest of them all, what were Mickey Mouse’s first words ever spoken?” There was a small chuckle coming from Ron and the other guys from the station with him.
“Hot. Dog. I thought you said it was going to be tough?” I popped my hand on my hip.
“Looks like we’ve got a winner! Y/N, you are a Disney fanatic. I hope you and your friends enjoy your time at Disneyland. Stay on the line to gather more information.” Ron transferred me back over to one of his radio producers. After answering their questions, the girls and I jumped up and down happily.
Steve’s parents were donors for one of Disney’s partner companies and earned seasonal tickets. Since Mr. and Mrs. Harrington thought highly of themselves, they told Steve to take the tickets whenever they were awarded. It came with three tickets since he was an only child. Steve cashing in those three tickets meant we all were getting to go. The money we raised in lemonade stands, car washes, mowing, dog walking, and babysitting went towards the plane, hotel, and food costs. We got two hotel rooms, which is what we could afford. One is for the girls and one is for the boys. We didn’t care about sharing beds, but the boys threw a fit. Max yelled at them the entire time we were sitting in my basement, counting money, and talking about itineraries.
“As stated, Steve, Eddie, Dusting, Lucas, and Mike will be sharing a hotel room. Robin, Nancy, Max, Erica, and I will be sharing another hotel room. They both have two queen-sized beds and a pull-out couch. I don’t want to hear any more complaining, Mike.” I scolded him.
“El and Will are going to meet us in th parking lot for their tickets. Then we all go in together. Now, what’s on the docket today is what we all want to see.” I placed down a map of the Disneyland Park. We go through Main Street, U.S.A., and then straight ahead is the Princess Castle, followed by Fantasyland. To the right is Tomorrowland, and to the left is Frontierland, Bear Country, New Orleans Square, and Adventureland.” I pushed to map to the rest of the group to see.
“The park opens at 8 am to midnight, which is seventeen hours, and with seven areas to cover, that would give us about two hours and 25 minutes per area. The remaining 5 minutes can be bathroom time.” Nancy read the statistics from her notebook.
“Thank you, Math Nerd Nancy!” Eddie sarcastically smiled and gave her a thumbs-up.
“Thank you, Nancy. This was detailed and hard work. We thank you for taking the time to ensure we all get to see the park and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.” I stood behind Eddie, covered his mouth, and waved his arm around as I spoke for him. He licked my hand, causing me to shriek and wipe it on his shirt. He laughed, pulling me onto his lap and holding me hostage.
The flight to California was bumpy, and the drive from the airport to the hotel was damn near sketchy. For most of us, it was our first time in California, and to say this was a bad start was an understatement. The hotel we could afford was almost a motel that looked slightly rundown, but that description was generous. We tried to stay hopeful, especially for the kids, but even Steve’s hoity-toity lifestyle seemed like a fairytale.
“Alright, I know this isn’t the best place, but it’s what we could afford. We’re going to be at the park all day tomorrow, so let’s just rest and disinfect until then. Maybe sleep in our ponchos.” I tried to make everyone feel better. The last thing we needed was the kids to have this as their only experience of Disneyland. A happy place turned horrible because of the outside conditions of our fare and stay.
The next morning, we parked in the parking lot of Disneyland at seven-thirty. We wanted to make sure we got good parking and to be one of the first groups through the gates. To some people, it looked eager and excessive, but to a group of kids from Hawkins, Indiana, who don’t have much, this was all we had. We didn’t care what people thought of us. We worked damn hard to get here and enjoy a carefree vacation before some of us went to college and new lives. We walked through the gates, got our tickets checked, and stood in awe at the front of the Mickey Mouse Garden. Behind it was a train that went around the entirety of the park. It was larger and grander than anything we had seen.
“Whoa, no wonder this place is called “the most magical place on earth”, it feels like we’re not even on Earth.” Lucas looked around.
“You really know how to ruin a moment.” Erica rolled her eyes and walked away towards the maps.
“Remember, we all meet at th Center Plaza in front of the Castle at noon. We’ll have lunch together, and then we can split off or whatever. Make the most of today and have fun.” I smiled, playfully pinching the younger kid's cheeks. They all squirmed in disgust. The younger ones went off together, while we older ones roamed around. I brought a few disposable cameras to capture memories.
“So, where do you want to go first? I think we should use that strategy you were talking about. Go left and come around; that way, we’re not wasting time going across.” Eddie came up behind me and wrapped his arm over my shoulder.
“Uh, yeah, that sounds good. I really want to see Main Street and Tomorrowland.” I blushed and leaned into him.
“Me too. I heard there’s a Haunted Mansion I want to see, too. Would you go with me? Keep me safe?” Eddie batted his eyelashes, giving me his award-winning smile.
“I’d be honored to keep a strong man like you safe.” I blushed harder, kissing his cheek.

Picnic Date // Steve Harrington

masterlist | oneshots
About once a month, Steve plans an elaborate date. Since it’s summer and the weather has been nice, he’s been planning ones outside. After a tiring week, we could definitely use this break. He called me last night to say that he would be at my apartment around eleven in the morning. I got dressed in a white and colorful floral sundress. I styled my hair in soft curls, in a look that accentuated my features well. I added a light peach-toned blush to my cheeks and a light dusting on the bridge of my nose. Eleven o’clock on the dot, he knocked on the door.
“Wow, every time I see you, you take my breath away.” Steve blushed, looking me up and down.
“You’re just saying that.” My cheeks turned red, taking the flowers from his hands.
“I’m really not. You look incredible.” He wrapped his arms around my waist, from my cheek to my shoulder, lovingly. I giggled, gently pushing him away to put the flowers in a vase.
“What are we doing today?” I turned around, leaning against the counter.
“We are going on a picnic down at Lover’s Lake. I got everything we need in the car, just need my pretty little princess with me.” Steve cupped my face in his warm hands, kissing my lips with passion.
He parked his car in a secure parking lot. It was a hidden cove he found where he would take me all the time. It was almost as if it were our spot. I held the blanket and basket while Steve carried our chairs and cooler to the place near the lake. There was a nearby tree with a tire swing hung from it. The small lake stream led to the larger part of Lover’s Lake, but this hidden part of the woods was only for our enjoyment. Steve liked to brag that he “claimed territory”, but in reality, he wished no one would find this area. Then again, how many young adults are walking the woods around Lover’s Lake to find a date spot? Steve made me stand by the tree while he set up the picnic, spreading out the blanket, arranging the low-sitting chairs, and gathering the baskets.
“Okay, darling. You can come over now. I’m finished.” Steve held out his hand for me to take.
“Stevie, this looks amazing! Oh my gosh, are those Rainier cherries?” I held his hand, sitting on the blanket. I leaned over, taking one of the cherries and popping it in my mouth.
“Yes, I know how much you like them. They’re not around for very long, so when they are, I like to get them for you.” Steve blushed, taking a cherry.
“You softie. You’re so good to me.” I sat closer to him, leaning my weight on my hand. “I love you, Steve Harrington.” I held his right cheek and kissed him deeply, letting my emotions take over. He leaned me back on the blanket, lightly towering over the side of me.
“I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. Now and forever, you’re mine.” Steve grabbed my jaw, kissing all over my face and jawline. It was in these moments that I felt at peace.

Dreaming of You
Eddie Munson x Harrington!Reader
masterlist | oneshots
•
Eddie’s POV
I watched her from afar. I’ve always had. There was never going to be a chance for me to know her like I want to. My only option was to hold onto hopeful wishes across the room, down the hall, and on the other side of the parking lot. Her beautifully perfect hair, shining in the sun, flowed like an angel in the breeze. Not to mention that gorgeous, award-winning smile of hers. Oh, and her laugh! I wish I could bottle up her laugh and take it like a cold medicine whenever I’m sad. But she doesn’t know who I am, and if she did, it would only be as “the town freak”. She couldn’t taint the “Harrington” name.
I walked into the drama room where my Hellfire Club was held. I placed myself on my throne, staring at the empty table. Everything reminded me of her, and when it did, I stared into space thinking of her delicate face. After a few minutes, I set up the table. I don’t need the guys to know how I’m feeling about her or anything like that. They would tease me horrendously, but I think they already know. I’m not subtle whatsoever. The door creaked open, but I didn’t pay attention. The guys were due any minute.
“Oh, hi. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I’m just looking for a few props for Ms. Donahue.” She said sweetly and softly as ever. Y/N Harrington, the one I’ve been pinning after all this time. The one I’ve been in love with since we were children. She was a year younger than Steve, which meant I got another year of long, fulsome glances.
“Uh, yeah, sure. Okay, uhm. Of course, you can come in. She lets me use this space. I hope I’m not in your way.” I muttered as the nerves just piled out of my mouth. Nice going, Eddie. You look more like an idiot than when you’re mute.
“Not at all, Eds. I see the box I need.” Y/N smiled, walking past him. Did she just say Eds? Not my full name, or even full nickname, but a new one‒ Eds. “How’s the club going? I hear you guys are having fun when I leave my drama club. It sounds interesting. If you don’t mind, I’d like to come watch a campaign one night?” Y/N grabbed the box and struggled lightly with the weight. I’m about to black out. Is this actually happening?
“Yeah, sure. You’re welcome to come any night. Well, not any night, we only have campaigns here on Friday nights, but you can come to those.” I walked over, taking the box from her. A sigh of relief left her lips. “Not that we’re excluding you from anything, just that we play outside the school sometimes, but you probably wouldn’t want to come to those, or if you do, that’s cool too. But you’re already here, so maybe a Friday would work better for you?” I stammered and made a small note to kill myself later for this interaction.
“Eddie, breathe.” She giggled. Oh, that damn laugh. “How about tonight? I make cookies occasionally for my club, but they’re too stuck up on carbs and sugar to even touch them. I’ll hide them and bring them over.” I followed Y/N around the corner to the auditorium, where she needed the box.
“Sounds good. We are all sweet treat fiends.” I relaxed, finally letting myself smile genuinely at her. I could’ve sworn I saw a blush across her cheeks.
Our campaigns normally run late, and about halfway through, there was a knock at the door. I mentioned to the guys what happened, but they all scoffed as if she’d ever show up. Mike said, “If she did, it would be pity and a game from Jason on us.” That comment earned a slap to the back of the head.
“Be nice.” I pointed at them and opened the door. A bright smile and a little nervous, but she was here.
“Hi, Eddie.” I opened the door to let her in. “Hi.” She waved shyly to the rest of the guys. They all happily obliged a hello before Dustin came running over. He bombarded her with a hug, while I took the tray of baked goods that almost went flying.
“We’re so happy you could be here! I knew one of the Harrington siblings had to be interested. Steve said he’d never want to join, but you’re nicer. Come, sit next to me.” Dustin pulled her gently. She chuckled, patting his shoulder.
“Thank you, Dustbunny, but I’m gonna sit next to Eddie. I want the full experience.” Y/N walked over to where I was, back at the throne. She pulled the empty chair closer to me and sat. “Oh, by the way, I made cookies for my club, but they’re all snobs, so you’re welcome to them.” She smiled.
“What kind of cookies?” Erica asked suspiciously.
“Double chocolate, and half of them have toasted marshmallow on top.” From the mention of chocolate, they all sprang up, running over to the table near the door. She laughed. Oh, damn that laugh again.
It was around nine o’clock by the time we finished, and all the guys piled out of the room. Y/N stayed behind to help me clean up. This was still part of the dream, because there was no way this day was actually happening. She watched the game intently, taking in all that was happening around her from each character. She leaned over a few times to look at my sheet and rule book. I swear I heard her mutter something about incorrect usage.
“You didn’t have to stay and help me clean up. They’re good guys, but leave a damn pigstye. They’re never going to get a women being this dirty.” I lightly chuckled as she laughed.
“This is nothing. Wait until you’re babysitting them, and they leave this around the house in different rooms. It’s like the dirt traveled with them.” Y/N tied the trash bag, putting it next to the door.
“I stopped inviting them over for game night. My Uncle Wayne would kick my ass for the mess they left. They’ll bang on the door, and I yell at them like an old man.” I laughed with her.
She helped me carry things out to my van, then looked back at the school and around the parking lot. I was the only one left in the parking lot. She looked downcast, slightly upset.
“Let me give you a ride home.” I closed the back doors.
“No, I can’t let you do that. You’ve been so kind to me. I can walk home, I’ll be okay.” Y/N obliged a smile, going to turn away.
“I don’t bite, princess. Unless you want me to.” I leaned my arm on the open passenger door of the van. “Let me take you home. It’s dark, and the creeps are out. I can’t let a pretty girl go missing on my watch.” The confidence that wasn’t there is suddenly showing up.
“You think I’m pretty?” Y/N asked genuinely as if she didn’t know her worth. She leaned her back against the side of the van, looking up at me. I took in her face in the moonlight. The darkness surrounds her, but the spotlight gently shines on her face. Those beautiful eyes sparkled, asking —no, begging to be loved and seen.
“I don’t know if I’m actually dreaming any of this, but Y/N, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Do you really not know how incredible you are?” I asked, taking a stp back to look at her.
“You’re just saying that.” She half laughed.
“No, I’m not. I have no angle here. I have no reason to lie to you. I don’t know who has hurt you in the past, but we’re here in the present. I am telling you from the most truthful part of myself, I like you, a lot. I see you, and not just in the hallway, but in everything you do. I swear I don’t stare like a creep, but I know there must be pressure having the “Harrington” last name. But with me, you can always just be, Y/N. No lies, no fakeness, no pretending.” I wiped a tear that fell down her cheek. “I know what it’s like, it’s not fun.” She leaned her cheek against my hand, sighing quietly.
I could feel her wanting to talk, but never finding the right words. I helped her into the van, closing the door. We pulled out of the school parking lot, heading back to my trailer per her request. She didn’t want to go home right away. She needed a place to be herself. I let her talk all night long about her troubles and worries. The way she is forced to act and protect the precious family name. Although Steve went through it and is trying to fight against the image, it’s different for a girl. We got closer as friends and eventually started dating in secret. Not because of what she thought of her reputation with me, but because she’s forced to share everything, and this is her one thing she can keep to herself. I held her close, kept her safe, and loved her the way she has always needed. It shocked me when she confessed she’s always had a crush on me. I damn near passed out. But now I can say I’ll still be dreaming of you.

Trust Bonding // Eddie Munson
•
masterlist | oneshots
I was on the phone with Nancy, talking about anything and everything, when she brought up that her couples counselor recommended she and Steve go on a retreat to reconnect and strengthen that bond. When I agreed to go, Eddie wasn’t so thrilled with the idea of it, really, any of it.
“I don’t understand why we have to go. It’s not like we have problems in our relationship, right?” Eddie turned his head quickly towards me.
“No, baby, we don’t have any issues,” I sat on his lap, “But Steve and Nancy do, and they truly want to make this work. Nancy asked me if we would join in their couples trust bonding retreat, their therapist booked them on, and I said yes.” I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“Is it going to be weird? Like, group bonding, holding hands type crap?” Eddie held me tighter.
“No.” I laughed. “It’s couples bonding, but we’re in the same room. Stop worrying, it’s going to be fun and relaxing.” I kissed his cheek, getting off his lap.
We decided to carpool to the bonding retreat, and boy, did Eddie and I regret making that decision. It was only a few hours away, but with Nancy and Steve’s cold shoulders, silent treatment, and bickering, it seemed to last forever. We tried not to pay attention to their conversations, but when you hear the deep insecurities of both your friends, you can’t help but feel for them.
We pulled into the retreat and walked through the front sliding doors. We were greeted with refreshments and a personalized guided tour of the compound. Upon returning to our rooms, there was a detailed schedule of “couples-bonding” activities. The rest of the day we had to ourselves, but the first two days held intense sessions. The first-day activities included a trust walk, trust fall, and scavenger hunt. The second-day activities included an escape room game, eye contact, and personalized therapy sessions.
The trust walk is the first activity of the day. They took a group of people into the wilderness, where there was a wooden bridge you had to walk across. They attached you to your partner with a rope from the harnesses. Then each couple would walk across the planks, holding onto the mesh walls to the other end. The trust fall was similar to the trust walk. Although the fall wasn’t from a fifteen-foot drop, it was from a three-foot drop. Although I trusted Eddie with my life, it was still scary to drop from any height. Nancy and Steve didn’t have trouble with this exercise. It was nice to see them still trust each other through their problems. The best part of the day. This scavenger hunt was indoors and in the dark. There were neon lights and neon paint splattered everywhere in this room. Each couple had an objective to find their listed items. The group that discovered their items first won a prize. Needless to say, Eddie and I won, which didn’t please the directors at all. They said “other couples who needed it” should’ve gotten it. But Eddie and I did enjoy that couples massage.
It was now the second day, and the most exciting way to start it off. Eddie and I have always wanted to do an escape room, so this was going to be genuinely fun for us. We teamed up with Nancy and Steve for a Pirate Themed Escape Room. They worked well together and were the ones to get all the clues and get out first. The eye contact, the session Eddie hated the most. I found this session to be the most real one yet. We sat together in a room, legs crossed, and close to one another. We had our eyes closed while we held hands. Then once we opened our eyes, it was straight eye contact for five minutes. I took in all the features of Eddie’s face and eyes. I couldn’t help myself but lunged for kisses once the five minutes were up. We did the “mandatory” personalized therapy session with a psychologist on-site, but it didn’t work for Eddie and me. We didn’t need therapy, and were asked to leave the compound with a free ride back home. They claimed the retreat was for couples who needed it most. When we got home, we heard that Steve and Nancy had finished their counseling and left feeling like a brand new couple. They had homework to do, but knew nothing would stop them from wanting to be together. As for Eddie and me, we never felt more in love.

DnD Convention
Eddie Munson x Reader
masterlist | oneshots
•
You were in the kitchen making breakfast while Eddie was reading the latest issue of Metalhead Monthly. You got a subscription as a birthday gift for him last year, and he screamed. No, really, he actually screamed. He used to sit in the bookstores for hours reading them for free, but now he can collect them. They had their own special box on the bookshelf in the living room. He flipped past a few boring pages of bands he didn’t particularly care about, but what caught his eye was the full-page ad for a “Dungeons and Dragons Convention” happening in a month at a venue in Chicago. You heard an audible gasp pass his lips as he stood up. He started jumping and bouncing around your shared apartment in excitement. There was a mixture of squeals and laughter coming from the 20-something-year-old man who is your fiancé.
“Baby! There’s a Dungeons and Dragons Convention! It’s in Chicago this year. Listen to this,” Eddie skipped into the kitchen, holding up the magazine, “In a fantasy world where monsters, mythical creatures, and heroes all co-exist. Experience this two-day event filled with private and public campaigns, immersive storytelling, merchants, booths, and so much more. This event will take place at the Chicago Expo, August 11th and 12th, 1987. For more information and purchase of your tickets for the 2-day event, call this number.” Eddie bounced before getting on his knees, pleading. “Can we please go? Please! Please! Please!” Eddie wrapped his arms around your waist, begging. At this point, you were already laughing at his theatrical performance. You played along as you placed your hands on your hips, thinking it over.
“I don’t know, bub. How much are the tickets? Can we afford this?” You shrugged. Before you could turn back to the stove, Eddie was already calling the number on the magazine. Long story short, you could afford it.
You planned the whole trip while Eddie focused mainly on your costumes to cosplay. When you were in high school, Eddie wrote you into one of his Hellfire campaigns. After that, you did a mock-up drawing for him of his and yours’ characters. That’s when he knew he fell in love. Eddie always knew you were the one for him, but seeing that you would go to such great lengths for him, he said he just knew.
“Eddie the Banished and Y/N the Healer costumes are finished and ready for the convention!” Eddie beamed, holding up the costumes for you to see. Eddie had his typical armor and gear, while he gave you a medieval dress with a slit to hold the garder for potions and weapons.
“Eddie, they’re amazing! Wait, when did you learn how to sew?” You teased, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Shut up.” Eddie turned bright red and ran back to your shared bedroom.
The morning of the event, you piled everything into the car, including your costumes in a garment bag, ready to go when you arrived. Hawkins was about a four-hour drive to Chicago. You begged Eddie to drive halfway, and you drive the other half while the other sleeps. He didn’t want to give that up, claiming “You’re my princess, I have to take care of you; I’m driving”, but then you reminded him that this was for him and to save his energy. Eddie reluctantly obliged your requests. You drove the first half so Eddie could see the city in the second portion of the drive. He also didn’t trust you driving the van in the city, so it was all a win-win.
“Your coffee and water are in the cup holders. Breakfast and the snacks are in the cooler bag between us in the console. I put your blanket in the van as well, in case you wanted to be cozy while driving, or when you sleep while I drive.” Eddie opened the driver’s side door of his van for you.
“Thank you, baby. You’re so good to me,” You kissed his cheek lovingly, while he buckled you in. “I love seeing you happy and ecstatic. I’m glad we’re taking this trip, plus the guys will be there too.”
Eddie beamed with happiness as you watched his cheeks turn red.
The drive up was peaceful, but what was really beautiful was the drive into the city. You had never been to Chicago before today, so this was your chance to explore a new city and be part of a convention where people from all around gathered for a purpose. It was taking you out of your comfort zone, but you would do anything for Eddie. Lakeshore Drive was one of the best parts of driving that morning. The water and city architecture from the road made it feel like you were in another world. This place definitely looked nothing like Indiana.
The convention started at 10 o’clock in the morning, so there was enough time to get to the hotel, drop off the luggage you had, and get dressed. Eddie was right, it does pay off to get an earlier check-in. You had put your hair in a certain style before you left the house all it needed was a little touch-up. The same went for your makeup. It was endearing watching Eddie gleefully put on his costume and then beg you to do some eyeliner for him. The Polaroid sitting on the bed got to get a crap-ton of use that weekend.
The hotel was only a block away from the expo center where it was being held. You were slightly worried by the looks and stares you would get from people on the street passing by, but it ultimately didn’t matter. You weren’t committing a crime; you were playing dress up with the love of your life for a board game.
“Y/N. Holy crap, Y/N! Look, look, look! Damn, this place is huge. Oh, I see food and drinks. Wow, this whole section looks like we’re back in medieval times. Card swapping stations!?” Those were just a few of the comments you heard from Eddie upon arriving. There was a check-in booth at the front, and with each wristband put on, the patrons received a pamphlet with a map and directions to where everything was.
The first place you stopped was a breakfast booth that sold drinks and sandwiches. You were in desperate need of coffee, especially with the day that was ahead of you. Eddie dragged you around the place until he found a storytelling theatrical performance in the center of it all. He snagged you a couple of seats before the show began. Eddie watched in awe of the sight before him, while you took pictures and notes for future campaigns. Once the show was done, Eddie took you walking around to the different merchants and booths. There were a couple of people who stopped to compliment you both on the costumes. You used this time to gush over your boyfriend and his amazing newfound talent.
You can only imagine how many photos were stuffed into your bag from the Polaroid. Eddie left you to walk around to see all the “shops” while he joined a campaign. He couldn’t remember the last time he played a game where he wasn’t the Dungeon Master. He played the game well, and so impressively that he won a ticket to the higher table of games, which would be held on the last day of the convention. You snagged a few items you could save as a Christmas gift for him while he was winning. The next day, you met up with Jeff, Gareth, and Grant and went around the expo with them. While they were in a game of their own, you took Eddie to the second-floor balcony for an impromptu lunch date before his award seat at the stage campaign that everyone would be watching.
“This has been the best vacation we have taken so far. The only thing that can top this would be our honeymoon.” Eddie spun you around, pulled you close, and dipped you before kissing you deeply.
P.S. Eddie won the campaign

Fruit Picking // Eddie Munson Headcanon
•

you begged Eddie to take you to a farmer’s market one day, and while he begrudgingly obliged, he secretly loved it. you took it a step further and took him to a local farm where you could pick your own fruits.
Eddie wasn’t so sure of this. you’re his sweet little munchkin in the kitchen baking and cooking, and he was a metalhead rockstar. no way would he be accepted.
“Eddie, they don’t check your credentials and life story before you go. Anyone is welcome. I’ve been in one of your old band tees, and I got complimented on having good music taste. Trust me, it’s a family business; they don’t care. It’s income to feed their family,” you begged him, pleading with your precious doe eyes.
“Fine, but only because you’re this cute and I get jam and pies out of this.” Eddie opened the van door for you.
the whole farm was amazing. they had acres of fruit trees, fruit bushes, vegetable plants, flowers, and even had some baked goods to take home too.
“Y/N! Look!” Eddie held up a large bucket of blueberries. “I picked all of this. This is so much fun!”
“That’s great, Eds. But we do have to pay for what we pick, so just keep the price in mind.” you patted his back.
after paying what felt like a down payment, you helped Eddie pack all the fruit and some vegetables in the van.
you loaded them into your shared home’s kitchen, spreading it all out on the counters. Looking at what you got, there were easily 1 large bucket of blueberries, 2 large buckets of peaches, 1 regular-sized bucket of strawberries, 1 regular-sized bucket of various vegetables, and 1 small pint of blackberries.
“Woah. This is a lot. Babe, did we pick this all?” Eddie stared with wide eyes.
“Everything, but the vegetables. Now, you can either help me clean and prep this or go take a nap and enjoy the spoils.” You smiled, placing your apron on.- “No way, I’m helping you. I’m excited. Jams, pies, smoothies, salads, all of it!” Eddie put on his specially made “I’m not the cook, but you can kiss me” apron.

Hidden Henderson - Part 3

I could feel his body going into shock. I pulled back from the kiss quickly. This was a mistake; I shouldn’t have done this. Why did I listen to those idiots? They didn’t know Eddie or me. I could cry right now if it weren’t for the panic that ran through me. Heart pounding, throat thickening, absolutely can’t swallow… all the usual symptoms. I backed away from him, hitting the wall behind me. Now the tears are welling up in my eyes.
“I’m so sorry, Eddie. I shouldn’t have done that.” I moved away from him towards the back exit door.
“Y/N, wait.” Eddie moved closer, but I was already out the door and running towards the main road. I didn’t have my car since Steve drove us here, so I just ran and kept on running. Eddie yelled out my name a few times, trying to catch up with me, but once I snaked through the woods, I lost him. I ran to the only place I knew I could be alone. I climbed the hidden treehouse at Lover’s Lake, breathing hard. I paced the small space before sitting down, letting out a sob.
Back at The Hideout, Eddie ran back inside the bar. He looked around, trying to find his friends.
“Eddie, what was that? What happened?” Gareth questioned him.
“I don’t know, I don’t know where she is either. I gotta go find her.” Eddie patted his back, moving past him to find Steve, Robin, and Nancy. He saw them waving at the back booth.
“Hey, man. That was great. I liked it better than expected.” Steve nodded his drink towards Eddie.
“Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” Nancy looked at him, concerned.
“Y/N came back. She kept saying how great I was and, and she kissed me. I panicked because I’ve been wanting this for so long, but before I could say anything to her, she ran. She’s faster than she looks, too.” Eddie sat down.
“Wait, where is she?” Robin sat up straighter.
“She took off on the main road and through the woods. I think I know where she is.” Eddie bounced his leg out of adrenaline and nerves.
“We can help the band, go find her.” Steve got up.
“And fix this. She really cares about you, Eddie. More than you think she does. Whatever feelings you shared as kids never went away.” Robin followed Nancy and Steve towards the back to help the band load stuff into Jeff’s car. Eddie grabbed his guitar, ran to his van, and took off towards Lover’s Lake. It was the only thing near The Hideout and in those woods. Eddie parked the van in a disclosed location. He knew if she could see it, she’d run again. He jogged around the lake until he saw the treehouse — the one they found as kids. He climbed up the rickety ladder, finding her curled into a ball in the corner, crying. Eddie didn’t say a word as he crawled over to her. He wrapped his arms around Y/N, pulling her into his chest as she wept.
I woke up to a tight feeling, and the sun’s brightness shining on my face through the window cutout. I turned my head to see Eddie still asleep behind me. I almost want to forget everything that happened last night. I mentally berated myself up until Eddie climbed up the treehouse. He didn’t say a word, but just held me. I cried and cried into his chest. I thought I lost my best friend, but what he said last night made me realize I could never lose him. Even if I tried to, he reassured me that he’d never leave me behind.
“Morning, sunshine. How are you feeling?” Eddie moved a piece of my hair behind my ear.
“Confused and embarrassed. Just leave me here to rot, please.” I moved away from him slightly.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do that. We need to talk about last night.” Eddie sat up, his back against the wall.
“No, we don’t. Just pretend it never happened, please.” I faced away from him, towards the window cutout. I tried my hardest, but the tears were already there.
“No, Y/N. You’re going to sit and listen to what I have to say. You don’t get to run away this time. You didn’t let me react. I have thought of you ever since the day you left. Even after your father forced us to never speak again, I still thought of you. I was so shocked you felt the same, my body froze before I could kiss you back.” Eddie moved closer to me, more dominantly now. “I’ve been in love with you since we were children, Y/N. You’re always on my damn mind.” Eddie moved to sit in front of me. The sunshine beamed around him. Even in my embarrassment, he still looked like an angel.
“Really? You’re in love with me?” I wiped my tears.
“Yes, sunshine. I love you.” Eddie held my face in his large hands. I felt so small being held like this. We both leaned in, our lips brushing each other’s lightly. He kissed me so tenderly, with a softness and fervor. With each passing second, the passion intensified. I held his forearm with one hand, while the other gently tugged his hair. We pulled away slowly and panting.
“I love you, too, Eddie.” I leaned my forehead on his, moving to sit in his lap.
Eddie drove me back home before anyone got up. I held his hand the entire drive back to Claudia’s house. The blush on my cheeks was a dead giveaway. I just hope that Dustin wasn’t awake to see Eddie pull into the driveway.
“I’m sorry about this whole thing.” I apologized, facing him in the car.
“Stop, sunshine. No more apologizing. We have the present to be a part of and the future to think about.” Eddie kissed my hand, helping me out of the car. He walked me to the door just as Claudia opened it to go to work.
“Oh, good morning, children. I got such a strange call from Steve last night. He said you were staying with Eddie after his show.” Claudia smiled, walking out of the house.
“Oh, yeah. I’m sorry I didn’t call to let you know.” I blushed hardly, trying to hide the fact that it wasn’t that kind of night.
“Just use protection and be safe.” She waved, got in her car, and drove off. I just about nearly died, hiding my face in Eddie’s chest as he laughed. We walked inside after Claudia left and went towards my bedroom.
“I’ll see you later tonight.” Eddie leaned against the doorframe as he towered over me.
“I can’t wait.” I blushed harshly, my back against the bedroom door. He leaned down slightly to kiss me goodbye before leaving. I opened the door, falling into my bed. I grabbed the nearest pillow and screamed into it.
Robin and Nancy came over later in the day after Eddie left. We sat in my room, going through my closet to decide what to wear tonight for my date with Eddie. He told me it was a surprise, but to wear something nice. I stared at my closet with my arms crossed over my chest. I had a few dresses, but not many. This is where the girls are needed; being dolled up is not really my forte.
“I think you should wear these pants and like a nice top? I don’t know, it is hot outside, you might sweat all over him.” Robin shrugged, holding up the hangers.
“Oh, thanks for the visual, Robin. Now, I’m gonna be worried about that too.” I rolled my eyes playfully, turning to Nancy.
“This dress is pretty. You can never go wrong with something sweet and feminine.” Nancy smiled, holding up her choice. I looked between the two options, while I flopped back on the bed.
“I don’t know. This is so hard. I just want this to be fun. I’m overthinking this, right? It shouldn’t be this hard to find something to wear?” I sighed. I got up and saw something tucked in my closet. I pulled out a sundress. The girls gasped at its beauty. This was my mother’s dress that she’d wear practically all summer long. I sat on the floor holding the dress. The soft tones of orange, brown, and yellow melding well together in the pattern expressed the softness that was my mom.
“It’s a sign. You have to wear it tonight.” Robin helped me off the floor. I let the girls help me get ready for my date. They stayed until Eddie came to pick me up. Dustin stared daggers out the window before Nancy closed the blinds in his face. The entire ride to the restaurant, Eddie complimented me on the dress and my beauty. He held my hand most of the night as we reconnected deeper than before. I knew my mom was smiling down on me, knowing I found someone who loved me as much as she did.
“I’m happy you’re here, Y/N. I’m never letting you go.” Eddie caressed my cheek.
“I’m happy to be here, Eddie. I never want you to let me go.” I leaned into his hand, kissing him deeply. One of the best moments of the night was telling Dustin. We got a free show after dinner.

Gardening // Steve Harrington Headcanon
•
masterlist | oneshots
Steve’s parents undoubtedly have a beautiful home. a big one too, with great yard space and pool. the average home in Hawkins didn’t have that.
ever since work had gotten more intense for Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington didn’t have time for her garden anymore. she put it on Steve to handle, but his green thumb girlfriend really took over the task.
“Stevie… put down the bottle of plant food. It’s not needed for an outside plant. Even then, if you take care of your plants correctly, it doesn’t need it.”
Steve deadpanned her, but she knew what she was talking about.
“Wait, you want me to be the muscle, carry all this stuff, and not take my opinions?” Steve crossed his arms.
“Yes, I know exactly what your mom is looking for. She wants her plants alive, not dead,” she sassed back. one thing about their relationship is that she didn’t take his crap, that’s why Robin loved her
they spent hours in that garden getting it ready and planting. not only were they planting flowers as Mrs. Harrington instructed, but they also planted vegetables. Steve insisted he had never felt more like a man, but don’t tell anyone that.
over five months later, the garden looked incredible with all that was growing. she taught Steve how to cook with the fresh ingredients in the backyard.
one August morning, Mr. and Mrs. Harrington came home to see both of them tending the garden together. Steve’s parents weren’t the type to like or gush about his relationships, except this one.
“This was fun. I can’t wait to see what our garden will look like one day.” Steve cheesed.
“Our garden?” she blushed at the thought that they’d have a place of their own one day.
“Yeah, baby. Our garden.” he kissed her cheek lovingly.

a/n: timeline switch (they're all friends and Eddie’s been mentoring the kids in dnd)
•
From the corner of my eye, I could see Robin and Nancy giggling to themselves, making a mental note to explore what just happened further. I could also see Dustin with a look of disgust and shock. Steve laughed, patting his back before paying for the kid’s ice cream. Eddie offered to pay for my ice cream, which I graciously accepted. We looked through the options as we talked. It had been years since I’d seen Eddie. We used to go to school together. He was a really good friend until I had to move. We tried to keep in touch, but once my father found out I was speaking to a boy in another state, he cut that off fast.
“You look good. Better than good, you look amazing. Truly beautiful.” Eddie smiled, placing his hand on the small of my back, guiding me to the register.
“Are you trying to turn me into that shade of sherbert, Munson?” I teased, blushing harshly. Back at the table, Dustin was eyeing our conversation.
“How does she know Eddie? How does Eddie know her? What is happening?” His face made a scowl.
“We all went to school together. They were good friends before you knew him. It’s not a big deal, Dustin. They’ve got history.” Robin shrugged and went back to eating. Although she and Nancy were absolutely spying too.
“History? What kind of history?” Dustin sat up, trying to look over the partition before Steve pulled him down.
“Let it go, Henderson.” Steve rolled his eyes.
As much as I wanted to enjoy my summer with Dustin, I have still yet to tell him that I’m staying. Claudia helped me hide some of the boxes as if she were moving them from storage back into the house. There hasn’t been the right time to say anything, and I know that if I do, it will ruin his summer. This kid’s been through a lot as it is; I don’t want his summer ruined because of our father. I kept telling myself I’d just wait until it got closer to the time I would leave and tell him then. Between that angst and my depression coming back threefold, it’s been hard to keep a happy face.
“Y/N, come on! You’ve been in bed all morning. Let’s go to the pool. Everyone is going.” Dustin pulled my arm under the duvet. This morning just so happened to be one where my depression wants to take over. I’ve been up since sunrise, but just lay in bed and stared at the wall.
“Fine. If you let me get ready, we can go.” I turned my head towards him. He yelled in excitement before laying his body over mine, ending in a big ooph sound from the sudden pressure.
“Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you.” Dustin hugged me tightly.
I parked towards the back of the parking lot, away from the building, in between Steve’s car and Eddie’s van. I got out, grabbing the towels and pool bag. There were certainly some memories here. I would come with my friends, but sneak off to be with Eddie. Sometimes he would be alone, which was great for me, because all his attention couldn’t be anywhere else. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a crush on him growing up. He was outspoken, loud, and way different than the kind of kids that grew up in Hawkins.
“Dustin, slow down! If you get hurt, I’m not cleaning it up!” I yelled as I watched the younger boys run towards the entrance.
“Well, good afternoon to you, too, sunshine.” Eddie chuckled, sliding his sunglasses on.
“Good afternoon, darkness. Nice to see you outside in the sun. Say, I thought you melted in the sun, or is that vampires?” I teased, walking next to him towards the entrance. He grabbed the pool bag from me to sling over his shoulder.
“Bats are the animal form of vampires that can transform during the day. But I used this super cool new gel where I can be myself!” He dramatically carried on. I laughed, bumping shoulders with him.
“Hey, love birds. So we were thinking of ditching the youngins tonight and going to see a movie, or rollerblade, or literally do anything cool besides babysit.” Robin sneaked up, walking backwards in front of us.
“Yes, please. It’s been killing me not to tell Dustin. I love him so much, I know this will just hurt him more.” I pleaded, grabbing her hand.
“I know, Y/N. But hey, you got us. We can decide, but it’s on. Eddie?” Robin turned her head to his. I looked up to see him looking at me with concern in his eyes.
“Huh? Yeah, sounds good. We can go to the Hideout. I got a gig tonight for Corroded Coffin.” He shrugged back. Robin walked away, back to where Steve and Nancy were setting up their chairs under an umbrella. Eddie set the bag between our chairs before grabbing my hand.
“What’s going on? What do you have to tell Dustin? Are you okay?” He sat down, looking up.
“Shh.” I looked around, finally seeing the boys in the water. “Only the girls know, so please don’t say anything. Especially not to big mouth Steve.” I sat across from him.
“Yeah, yeah. I promise.”
“Our father kicked me out, said some real nasty things to me, and I moved back to Hawkins for the foreseeable future. That’s the short version, but he doesn’t know. And I don’t want him to know until it’s time I usually leave. He already has a lot of trauma from our father, I don’t want this to worsen it or ruin his summer. He’s happy and carefree, as he should be. I can’t do that to him. But it’s just been running me tired.” I turned my head away from the pool, towards the trees. Tears were threatening to spill over and down my cheeks.
“Hey, I got you, okay? I won’t tell anyone. I’m so happy you’re here. I’ve missed you so much, I can’t explain it.” Eddie comforted me. “He doesn’t deserve you. He never has.” Eddie wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug. His words alone had me crying. He walked me back out to the van, telling Steve to watch Dustin. I held his hand and arm while putting my head down. Eddie sat me in the back of his van. He wiped my tears away, reassuring me that nothing would happen while he was here.
Later that night, I was getting ready in my room. I put on a pair of black jeans, an old band t-shirt that I had originally stolen from Eddie, and my black All-Star Converse sneakers. I was finishing putting on my jewelry when I heard a honk outside. I ran down the stairs, waving Cluadia goodbye before getting in the passenger seat of Steve’s car.
“How’d you sneak past Dustin?” Steve pulled out of the driveway, heading towards Nancy’s house, then Robin’s.
“He’s in the basement with the boys. They’re playing a new video game, I think.” I pulled down the visor to apply lip gloss, looking a little too long at myself in the mirror. From the corner of my eye, I could see Steve smirking. “What?” I closed the visor.
“You’re caring more about your appearance than normal tonight, Y/N. Gee, I wonder why?” He chuckled.
“Shut up, Dingus. I want a free drink tonight, that’s why.” I readjusted the seatbelt.
“Yeah, from Eddie,” Steve mumbled, pulling into Nancy’s driveway.
“What was that?” I turned my head.
“Nothing,” Steve smirked, hiding another chuckle. “There’s Nance.”
We got a booth in the right back corner. The stage was only a few tables away. I got a perfect view of Eddie tuning his guitar on the side towards the back room. The way the hallway light emanated from him gave an ethereal glow. I tucked myself into the corner, placing my head in my hand, my elbow leaning on the table. Eddie was such a beautiful man. He was caring, charming, and so damn sexy.
“Y/N!” Nancy waved her hand across my face.
“What? Oh, sorry. What was your question?” I sat back a little more timidly now.
“Did you want a drink?” Nancy asked again.
“Yes, please.” I gave her my drink order and a wad of cash. She gave me my money back, claiming Steve lost a bet.
“You’re really not subtle at all. Why don’t you both say how you feel?” Robin sat back against the booth.
“Because we’ve been friends since we were kids. Plus, I know he doesn’t look at me like that.” I looked down, playing with the hem of my shirt. “Isn’t he in love with Chrissy Cunningham, anyway?” I sighed, fighting back the urge to just leave or crawl into a hole.
“What?” Robin laughs. “First, just because you’re friends doesn’t mean you can’t develop feelings. Second, he most definitely looks at you like that. You’re gorgeous, Y/N. Do you not know the effect you have on him? Third, Chrissy hurt him. She carelessly played with his emotions for like a month, and then went straight to Jason Carver.” Robin stated, holding my hand.
“You guys should go for it. You’d make a cute couple. You’re practically dating already.” Nancy handed me my drink, sitting next to me.
“Honestly, if you two don’t, I’m finding a room and locking you in until I hear wedding bells.” Steve rolled his eyes, sipping his beer.
I thought over what they said. I caught Eddie looking over with a small wave. We locked eyes, and I could feel my heart flutter. Damn, am I actually in love with Eddie Munson? The kid who used to dig up worms and bring them home to show Wayne. The kid who would pull my ponytail in our game of tag. The kid who held my hand while crossing the small riverbank. The kid who wiped my tears when I told him I was being taken away from Hawkins. I was taken from my thoughts when the band started warming up and began their set. I loved everything Eddie sent me from his band. They were extremely talented, way too good for a dinky place like Hawkins, Indiana. Watching Eddie on that stage was electric. Anyone could see how much he loved being up there, playing his heart out. After their set, I squeezed past Nancy towards the stage. I hugged him close, not caring how sweaty he was.
“Eddie, you were amazing! You all were. My goodness, please record an album. You could be openers for so many bands, just think of how amazing that would be! Corroded Coffin on the marquis above the theater.” I followed him backstage with Jeff, Gareth, and Grant.
“You’re charming, doll. Maybe a little too kind.” Eddie laughed.
“I mean it, Eddie. You’re so talented and amazing. You told me you wish I saw myself like you see me. The same applies to you as well. I want you to see how wonderful you are.” I held his flushed cheeks in my hands, kissing him deeply.
edited a/n: should I make this a series or another chapter?

Glasses // Eddie Munson
•
masterlist | oneshots
You had a long and exhausting day at work. Coming home to Eddie was all that you wanted to do. When you walked into the trailer, he had already set out dinner on the small dining table. There was a glass of your favorite cocktail sitting next to his beer bottle. You stood there quietly, waiting for him to notice your presence. He always looked so pretty in the dimmed yellow lighting of the trailer home you lived in with him. Eddie turned around, taking something out of the oven, when he saw you. A wide smile and a bounce skip, he was already in front of you.
“Hi, babygirl. Welcome home.” Eddie wrapped his arms around you, embracing you in a comforting hug.
“Hi, handsome.” You smiled faintly into his chest, following suit and hugging him back with as much love.
“Dinner is ready. Do you want to eat at the table? I can move it all to the living room, and we can watch something?” He leaned back, looking into your eyes.
“Let’s do dinner at the table. I’ll grab those candles Wayne got us.” You leaned up on your toes to peck his lips. You grabbed the candles from the television stand, placed them on the table, and lit them. It felt like your own personal restaurant. Eddie liked to call it an “Impromptu Munson Lovin’”. You spent the night talking about work, what was bothering you, how his day was at the mechanic shop, and so on. After dinner, you grabbed the thick blanket that your mom had gifted you for your wedding anniversary, and cuddled right into his side on the couch. Eddie put on a random movie that was playing. He reached over to grab his book, “The Lord of the Rings”, but what he did after was something you’ve never seen before. Even as his newlywed wife, and previously his girlfriend for three years. He put on a pair of glasses, specifically reading glasses.
“Eds? Since when do you need glasses to read?” You sat up and really looked at him.
“Wayne saw that I was squinting and told me to go get my eyes checked, but no, nothing’s wrong until I was at work. Mr. Glazier came in to get an oil change, and even he said I should get glasses. So I picked these up at the grocery store last night.” He shrugged as if this was nothing new.
“Why didn’t you tell me? Baby, we should get your eyes checked.” You looked at him in disbelief that he didn’t tell you.
“Cause I’m fine and I didn’t want you to worry. My eyes burn a little when I’m tired. Sometimes it’s okay to have a little help.” Eddie brushed your cheek lovingly.
“Well, you do look absolutely adorable in them. Like, really really adorable.” You sat in his lap.
“Oh yeah? I’m adorable?” Eddie gripped his hands on your waist gently.
“Oh, yeah…” You grabbed his face and kissed him hungrily and lovingly.

Hidden Henderson - Part 1
Eddie Munson x Henderson!Reader
warning: parental neglect, emotional abuse, divorce, mention of parent death
masterlist | oneshots
a/n: i accidentally switched the timeline around and didn’t feel like rewriting.
•
The last day of senior year left nothing but a feeling of relief. School was done with until the fall, and I could relax and enjoy the time I got to have with my baby brother, Dustin. We had the same father, but different mothers. My mother passed when I was a little kid. A few years after her passing, Dad met Claudia, Dustin’s mom. She’s always been a sweetheart. A little overprotective, but she means well. When they divorced, I left with Dad and moved out East again. That was the hardest thing to leave Dustin. I would call him every day until I was old enough to travel alone back to Hawkins. This summer, I will be there for two months. Just us Henderson kids taking on the world.
I walked up the stairs into my bedroom, but the moment I opened the door, everything changed. There were cardboard boxes everywhere, and half my stuff was packed up, as if someone had taken all day to move my things out of my room while I was in school. The walls were bare, so were the shelves and bookshelf. My body went into shock. What was happening, and why am I finding out about any of this in this way?
“Dad!?” I ran back down the stairs and into the kitchen to see him sitting at the dining table with a beer and the newspaper. “Dad. What the hell happened to my room? Why is all my stuff packed away?” No words came out of his mouth, only a slight exasperated sigh.
“We’re moving. Plain and simple, now go finish packing. The moving truck comes in next week, and you need to be done tomorrow.” He said in a cold, bone-shivering tone.
“Tomorrow? Why do I need to be done tomorrow if the moving truck comes next week?” I stood my ground. One thing about our father was that he was a real asshole.
“You’re leaving. Pack up the beetle, and move in with Claudia and Dustin. I am so sick and tired of taking care of you and “looking after you”. It’s time you’re on your own. You’re no longer my responsibility. I sold the house weeks ago. Chelsea and I are moving to California, and living our lives without you, or Dustin.” He stood up, towering over me. I backed up until my back hit the wall in the corner of the kitchen.
“I can’t stand to look at you anymore. You remind me of her every time I see you. You’re out of my life for good!” He screamed in my face before storming out of the house to the front yard. A chill ran over my body as I slid down the wall. I didn’t leave for Hawkins for another week. What am I going to do? I got the courage to get up and sneak back into my room before my father saw me. I did as I was told and kept on packing everything I owned. I called my Aunt Janie, my Mom’s sister, for help. She’s letting me stay with her until I figure out what to do. I just can’t believe my father would do this.
I ultimately decided to leave the East Coast and move back to Hawkins. I called Claudia the day after Aunt Janie took me in. We talked about what the summer would look like, what freshman year of college would look like, and just life in general. As much as I knew I could stay with my Aunt Janie, I needed to be with Dustin right now. I promised him I would come for the summer, but Claudia thought it would be a welcoming surprise to tell him I would stay.
“Are you sure this is what you want? You are always welcome to be with us.” Janie held my hands as I stood next to my car.
“I’m sure, Aunt Janie. I know this is where Mom would’ve wanted me to be. This feels right.” I said, hugging her tightly. I promised to call her every week with an update. She has already contacted Claudia about healthcare, insurance, and schooling. I hugged Janie tight one last time before getting in my car and not looking back.
It took me ten hours to get from North Carolina to Indiana. At this point, I knew the drive all too well. Sometimes I would drive to see Dustin and bring him back with me. That was until our father said it was costing too much gas. If he wanted to see Dustin, he would. It broke my heart how our father treated him. Even as kids, if our father said anything bad about Dustin, I stood up and shielded him. There were fights we’d get in over the disrespect I gave. Looking back at all of it, he was always the problem. Everything was happy and fine with Claudia’s marriage, but then one day it just turned into months of fighting. Months turned into years of disdain and disgust. Claudia had no legal right to fight for me, but she always checked in on me when we left. I know she isn’t my mother, but sometimes I feel like my mama gave me her.
I pulled into the driveway around four o’clock in the afternoon. I sat in the car for a few minutes with my hands on the wheel, just staring at the front door. Claudia came out with a wide smile, waving at me from the porch. I swallowed the lump in my throat before turning the car off and opening the door.
“Hi, honey!” Claudia ran to me, engulfing me in a bear hug.
“Hi, Cluaida.” I hugged her back. “Where’s Dustin? Is he here?” I pulled back.
“No, he’s with his friends at the arcade. Last day of school celebration. Steve Harrington is going to pick them up tonight.” She said, leading me into the house.
“Can I pick him up? I miss seeing him and the boys.” My arms were crossed, rubbing my upper arms with my hands. I looked around the house, seeing the memories flooding back.
“Of course. You’ll see Steve again at least. I know they all miss you.” She said, placing down water glasses.
“I miss them too.” I grinned.
We talked for a while before I went back to my car. I brought everything to my new room. She was using the attic room for a spare bedroom slash storage. But she made it all up for me. I thanked her immensely for everything. I sat on the bed, letting out a long sigh as I looked out the window. She changed a few things since I was last here. It looks nice, not what I remembered. But this is my new home, my new beginning, my new everything.
I drove over to the arcade around nine o’clock. Claudia undoubtedly got more protective of Dustin over the years. She had to know where he was at all times. I don’t blame her, but sometimes it’s okay to take a step back and breathe. I walked in and looked around. I saw him over in the corner with a new game with Mike and Lucas. I crept up behind them, watching as Dustin was killing it at the machine.
“Nice shot. Can I have a turn?” I put my hands on my hips as the boys jumped. Lucas turned around first with a loud gasp. Dustin followed as he tackled me in a hug that almost capsized us.
“Y/N! When did you get here!?” Dustin held me close.
“A couple of hours ago. I asked Cluadia if I could pick you up to surprise you. How about I take you guys and get ice cream?” They all joined in on a group hug. They love free food.
“Hey, that’s my job. You trying to take my duties away from me?” Steve said, walking over.
“Not at all. Hey, Steve. Good to see you.” I gave him a side hug.
“You too, Henderson. Let’s go, guys. Eddie, Robin, and Nancy are already waiting for us at the ice cream parlor.” Steve walked them all out, and we followed. The shop was two blocks away. When we walked in, the boys b-lined it for the display, pressing their hands to the glass as Steve scolded them. Sitting in the back booth were Nancy and Robin. That’s when I saw him—long curly hair, tattoos, a leather jacket, rings, and a face that could kill.
“Hey, Dustin. Who’s that?” I asked, not looking away from this gorgeous man.
“That’s my friend, Eddie. C’mon, he’s been dying to meet you.” He pulled me over to where Eddie was. Eddie… Eddie… Surely it wasn't my Eddie.
“Y/N! Now summer can officially start.” I hugged Robin and Nancy while we chatted for a minute.
“Henderson? My God, it is you.” He stood up, placing his hands in his back pockets.
“Munson. The one and only. How are you?” I leaned into the partition against the booth.
“I’m doing just fine now. How are you?” He charmed.
“Better, now,” I smirked, looking up at him.

Playground // Eddie Munson Headcanon
•
masterlist | oneshots
there was a small playground by my house, and on the way home from school, Eddie took that route home to drop me off. therefore, he found the secret gem… a vacant playground
not many kids would come to the specific one. maybe once in a while, but not very often. sometimes we think the kids have “outgrown” their childhood and choose to do more “older kid” things like hang out at the mall
Eddie took this as an opportunity to have fun. we stopped by my house to get a quick snack and drop off our books before heading back over. i told Eddie we should walk since it would probably freak out some of the parents that an unmarked van was parked right in front of where children would play
we first headed for the swings. there was a strategy to it. you start with the swings, then to the slides, monkey bars, run around, return to the slides, and bridges, before finally ending it all with the swings again to cool off.
“i told you this would be worth it,” Eddie smiled, pushing me gently higher
“No, I told you no one was at the playground, and how that's odd. I never protested. You know I love playgrounds. We’re gonna be 90 fighting our joints to go on the slides.” I smiled back at him, giggling
“We’re gonna be 90 and using our canes to push each other on the swings.” Eddi chuckled back
we stayed there for another hour until a family with small children came. i’ve seen them around the neighborhood, which was comforting, knowing that they wouldn’t get spooked by strangers at the park
Eddie stood up straighter, afraid of what th dad might say to him. sad to say, he was getting used to people blatantly calling him out in public.
“It’s okay, baby. I know them, they’re neighbors. c’mon, let's go back home. We need to cool off anyways. And if you’re a good boy, I've got a special treat for you later.” i held his hand as we walked back to my house.
“Treat!? I’m gonna be the best boy ever. I want all the treats, ice cream, and popsicles.” Eddie mindlessly babbled, following after me on the path
i smiled up at him, seeing the childlike wonder glaze over his face

Galaxy Travel
Eddie Munson x Reader
masterlist | oneshots
•
You and Eddie decided to have a movie marathon. It was a rainy Tuesday, and you both had the day off from work. What better way to spend a rainy day than in front of the television with movies, food, and your loving boyfriend? During one of the Hellfire campaigns, the guys were debating which sci-fi fantasy was better. Half of them fought for Star Trek, and the others debated Star Wars. That’s how Dustin convinced you and Eddie to watch the entirety of Star Wars from Episode IV to Episode VI. Little did he know, Eddie loved Star Wars, but wouldn’t admit it. Never would admit it to Gareth, Jeff, or Grant. Gareth thought it was childish, and Jeff thought it ripped off Star Trek, but Eddie? No, he loved Star Wars, and so did you.
Even as kids, you went to see all the movies together. You would sneak in snacks because there was only enough money for the movie tickets. Which that money was stolen from either your parents or Wayne. The first one they happily paid for to get you two out of the house. Wayne kept teasing, saying his “twelve-year-olds were going on a first date”. For the second movie, Eddie did take you out for that first date. You both were fifteen, and he was teaching you how to sneak out of the bedroom window. By the third installment of the franchise, you had been dating for three years. It was an impromptu anniversary date, followed by dinner at the diner.
Tuesday morning, you went to the local Family Movie and rented all three movies. Eddie had a reputation to uphold, and he definitely couldn’t let Steve Harrington see him rent those movies, too. Robin was there instead, but still Eddie couldn’t “risk it”. Robin chuckled at the rentals and said, “You guys are nerds”, but in a loving Robin way. You chuckled and left before grabbing your favorite snacks on the way home. Eddie had some deep love for Doritos that none of us could explain. It was like the cheese was pulling him in. Mountain Dew had the same effects on him, too, but he’s a guy. Man, do they love their snacks. You would occasionally bring treats to Hellfire, and within minutes, the tray was licked clean.
“Did you get my favorites?” Eddie turned around from facing the television set.
“Yes, I did, you gremlin. I got all your favorites and mine, too. Which means you can’t touch mine.” You scolded him playfully, setting down the food on the coffee table.
“Aww, what. What if I wanted one of your snacks?” He pulled the cutest puppy dog eyes.
“Nuh uh. You have your own. You can’t have mine. I will smack you. I’ve done it before.” You grabbed the blankets and curled up on the couch.
“Oh, I remember.” Eddie’s eyes went wide at the memory before cuddling next to you. The last time Eddie tried to take something from your bowl, plate, or just a general bag of food, you slapped him. It wasn’t hard, but well enough for him to be wary of his movements.
“As you should.” You smirked, leaning into his affection.
The first movie went great. The amount of adrenaline you get from watching “Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope” is something else. The thrill of when Luke shoots the blaster into the Death Star had Eddie bouncing in excitement. He always saw himself as Han Solo with the hopeful eyes of Luke Skywalker. Which, to you, was true. Eddie was a lone wolf, but had friends. He took care of business, but no one took care of him. He secretly wanted to be Luke Skywalker with a child-like personality. He wanted to be able to lean on someone for once. For years, he called you ‘His Princess Leia’. You are his independent, headstrong, and beautiful girlfriend. You fit the mold of her personality perfectly. Eddie got up between movies to order a pizza as you switched the DVDs. He claimed that “Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back” was underrated and a great film. Who would argue that it wasn’t? It had so many iconic lines that would be a part of cinematic history for a very long time.
“You don’t get it, baby. This film is a pure cinematic masterpiece. The raw emotions that emanate from the entire cast are perfect. The pain in their faces, you can feel their distraught anger. From Leia losing her love and Luke finding out Darth Vader is his father. All of it was beautifully written and so well orchestrated. Ten out of ten, all five stars, this is amazing.” Eddie explained, walking back and forth in front of the coffee table dramatically.
“Eds? Are you sure you’re not high right now?” You chuckled watching his theatrics.
“Hey, at least I don’t drink or do drugs.” He held his hands up in defense playfully.
“Eddie… You do drink and do drugs.” You looked at him knowingly because you knew what was in his lunchbox.
“Who told you!?” He exclaimed dramatically again, then jumped over the coffee table, landing on top of you with a grunt. “You know what I have to do now… I’m sorry, you didn’t follow the rules!” Eddie yelled out as you laughed. He started gently, but with each passing laugh, he tickled you harder.
It was safe to say you and Eddie got married in the year 1990. A beautiful display of the ocean behind you as you said your vows. All your friends and family were there to celebrate with you. Wayne shed a tear watching his nephew turn into the man his mother always wanted. Eddie turned out nothing like his father, and Wayne was forever grateful. Nine years later, George Lucas produced the first prequel, “Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace”. Your seven-year-old daughter and six-year-old son absolutely fell in love with the movies. It became a tradition to see “Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones” and “Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith”. What was even more fun was dressing up as each character. You and Eddie both gladly handed over your reign and had the kids dress as Luke and Leia. Learning and knowing about Padme and Anakin brought a new light into you both. Eddie was determined that Han had nothing on Anakin.
“Y/N. I am Anakin Skywalker. I am a mix of both. But you’re still my beautiful queen, which yet again makes sense that you’re the mother of Leia, Padme Amidala.” Eddie wrapped his arms around your waist as yours found their way around his neck.
“I agree. We are so much more like Anakin and Padme. Han and Leia have a special connection, but Ani and Padme have something deeper… ethereal, almost.”
“You’re my space queen.” He leaned his forehead on yours.
“You’re my space warrior.” You leaned your forehead against his, kissing him deeply as you could hear your kids in the background gagging.
P.S. Eddie found out what Comic Con was and screamed at the top of his lungs in excitement. Not only was there Star Wars, but so many other things he was interested in, especially Dungeons and Dragons. Every other year, you would take the kids to cosplay at these conventions. You were the family he’s always wanted and a change to the reputation of the Munson name.

Visiting Mom // Eddie Munson
•
warning: loss of a parent, depression, (your girl is sad. my bad.)
masterlist | oneshots
Eddie and I have been dating for three months now. We’ve spent almost all our free time together. I’d come to his campaigns and games, he’d come to my rehearsals and competitions. Three months and it already feels like a year. Last week, I invited Eddie and Wayne over to my house to meet my mom. Eddie was terrified she wouldn’t like him. He was scared of meeting new people in general. He said he “couldn’t face it if she doesn’t like me. I can’t lose you.”, which I thought was incredibly sweet. I reassured him she would love him cause I’ve been talking her ear off for months now.
She did, in fact, love him to pieces. She didn’t judge him for what he liked or did. She was skeptical at first about Dungeons and Dragons, like most people are, but once she knew it wasn’t what the media and magazines make it out to be, she was fine. She saw the Eddie I saw, a sweet and loving soul who just wanted to be loved and accepted back. Mom loved Wayne just as much. He reminded her of my uncle, whom she missed dearly. But something was off with Eddie today when I sat down next to him at lunch.
“Eddie? You okay?” I put my hand on his thigh, gently getting his attention.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, baby. I’m good.” He faked a smile, knowing I could see right through it.
I didn’t press any further, especially being in front of the guys. When we got in the van to go home, I asked him again.
“Eds? Wanna talk about it? I know something is bothering you. I can see it in your face.” I looked over at him as he drove away from the school parking lot. He kept silent the rest of the ride back to the trailer. I’ve never seen him like this. Eddie is the type of person to talk constantly, so when there’s a quiet pause, something isn’t right. It wasn’t until Wayne left for his graveyard shift that Eddie spoke up.
“I… I wasn’t expecting meeting your mom to go so well. It went great, she’s wonderful and raised a beautiful person.” He sat on his bed, playing with his rings.
“Thank you, baby.” I kissed his cheek softly.
“But, it just made me realize that you’ll never get to meet my mom…” Eddie turned his head away from me. Now it makes sense. I wasn’t deliberately trying to hurt him. He lost his mom a long time ago, but she would forever be engraved on his heart.
“Eddie, we can always go visit her. I’ve always wanted to go with you, whenever you’re ready.” I held his hand, gently rubbing the back.
“I think it’s time.” Eddie nodded, looking up at me.
“Hey, Mama.” Eddie sat down next to the grave, cleaning it off. “I miss you. Life just isn’t the same without you. I’m sorry I haven’t visited in a while, but I met someone. She’s extraordinary. I know you would’ve loved her. She’s everything to me. She’s so special.” Eddie moved closer, hugging the gravestone. I walked closer and sat opposite him next to her grave.
“Hi, Mrs. Munson. It’s such an honor and a pleasure to meet you. Eddie talks so highly of you. I promise to always take care of him and love him as you would have wanted.” I smiled down at the grave before seeing Eddie with tears in his eyes. We stayed there together for a couple more hours before heading home for a well-deserved quiet cuddle time.

Forced To Be A Carver
Eddie Munson x Carver!Reader
warning: depression, bullying, ptsd, family neglect
masterlist | oneshots
•
“Y/N! Let’s go! I swear if you make us late, I will kill you.” Jason yelled from the bottom of the stairs. I rolled my eyes, grabbing my backpack and book.
“I’m coming. Calm down, you know it’s not the end of the world if we’re on time.” I walked down the stairs and passed him out the front door to the car.
Being a part of the Carver family is one thing, but being Jason’s sister was absolute hell. We weren’t twins, but Irish twins. Which means that we’re eleven months apart, me being the youngest, but the smartest. I worked on classes over the summer to graduate with my brother. Not because I wanted to have our parents be proud of all our hard work, but so I can get out of the house sooner. Jason was the favorite child in the house. That was no surprise, but they would be there for every major game and award ceremony. When I had something major going on or an award I was receiving, no one showed. One time, it was the gardener, Jerry, who showed up for me. Once Dad heard about it, he fired him. Their precious reputation would be tainted forever if the town knew how much they didn’t care for one of their children.
“You know I need to be there early for the basketball meeting.” Jason got in the driver’s side.
“Oh, I know. How could I forget?” I rolled my eyes, locking the seatbelt.
“Don’t give me attitude. It’s not my fault that Mom and Dad love me more. You know if you tried even a little bit in something worthwhile, then maybe they’ll pay attention to you.” He smirked, driving down the street towards the high school.
I rolled my eyes once again. What did I do to deserve a rotten family like this? Who did I piss off to get rewarded with the likes of them. Even when I write for competitions, I use my pseudonym. I detest using the name Y/N Carver. The minute we pulled into the parking lot, Jason jogged into the gym for the meeting while I took my time and walked towards the woods for some peace and quiet before school started. I don’t do this often, but when the mornings get rough, this is one of my escapes. I sat at the picnic table and took out my book.
“The Hobbit… Hm. Well, I didn’t peg you for a Tolkien reader, but I’ve been wrong before.” A smooth voice came from behind me. I jumped at the suddenness and hid the book under the table, thinking it was one of Jason’s friends.
“You don’t have to hide from me, sweetheart. I’ve read that book at least ten times to know you’re not going to want to miss that chapter.” Eddie sat down across from me.
“Oh, I know. This isn’t my first time reading it either… Sorry for that, I thought you were my brother or one of his friends.” I sat up more comfortably now. I’ve had a few conversations like this with Eddie. He’s always been sweet with me despite being a victim of my brother, too.
“You know I would never hurt you like they do. I’m not like that. I might get a kick out of scaring someone or joking, but not what Jason does. He calls me sadistic, but his torture is the true definition.” He sat forward, arms crossed on the table.
“I know. I appreciate that. You’re not what they say you are. Which is a shame, cause they’ll never see the true you.” I smiled lightly at him, the school bell catching us both off guard.
Lunchtime came around, which was a dreaded front. Jason wouldn’t allow me to sit somewhere else or with anyone else besides them. He proudly touted that the Carver name was always on the popular side. I sat at the end of the table away from the jocks and cheerleaders. So attached to my book, I forgot the barely edible school lunch sitting in front of me. Across the lunchroom, I saw Eddie smiling widely with his friends, joking around. I loved secretly watching his antics. There’s something about him that kept drawing me in closer and closer. His laughter was infectious. Where other students would find him annoying, Eddie Munson was a goofball at heart.
“Y/N! What are you smiling at?” Patrick teased from the other end of the table.
“Yeah. Why are you looking over at those satanic losers?” Andy egged on further. At this point, Jason caught on. He walked over to me, leaning down and close to my face.
“If I ever catch you or even hear a slight rumour that you’re near them, I will make sure you don’t see the light of day. You are a Carver, act like it.” Jason gripped my arm before I pulled it away quickly.
“But as long as you’re into bands, or science, or parties… Or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!” Eddie stood on the table, yelling from the other side of the cafeteria.
“You want something, freak?” Jason stood up, staring daggers into Eddie’s eyes. While Eddie saw this as an opportunity to play into their antics, giving them devil horns, he smiled and winked over at me before turning back to his friends.
“Threaten me one more time, Jason. Truly, I dare you. I am so sick of you and your oxygen-deprived brain. I am my own person and I am done taking shit from you. We may be related, but we will live separate lives. Back off before you’re the one in the corner crying.” I shoved Jason out of my face, standing up in front of him and the jocks. I grabbed my bag and book, leaving the food tray on the table as I walked out of the cafeteria towards the school exit.
I needed to get away. I didn’t care if I skipped the last two classes of the day. Twenty minutes later, I walked into the bookstore downtown. The buildings in downtown were older, which meant there were secret hidden nooks in the stores. It was almost as if that nook was especially for me. The owner, George, didn’t mind that I made it my own space. I would help him restock and clean the store whenever I was in. It was a barter for not paying me.
“Y/N. This is early. Did school let out yet?” George sat down on his stool, sipping his coffee.
“Not yet... It’s been a bad day already. I just need somewhere where they aren’t.” I grinned lightly at him and passed towards the back left corner on the second floor. There was a small attic door that led through to the nook. I set down my bag and let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Not even ten seconds later, I was crying into my knees. The front doorbell rang, catching George’s attention.
“Hey George, did a teenage girl come in here? About this tall with an olive green backpack?” Eddie looked at him with hopeful eyes.
“Upstairs nook. The one you like to hide in, too.” George nodded his head in that direction.
Eddie thanked him as he climbed the stairs. He knew this place all too well. George was the only elder in the community who didn’t judge Eddie for being different. He always had a warm smile and a caring heart. George told Eddie that people are like books. Some are the same, some are wild and out there, some are just exactly what they’re meant to be. Eddie knocked gently on the door.
“I’m fine, George…” I sniffled into the star-shaped pillow.
“It’s not George.” Eddie opened the door, climbed in, and sat across from me. “Hi.” He smiled.
“Eddie? What... How did you find me? Did he give away my secret hiding place?” I wiped my tears with the sleeves of my sweater.
“I hide here too. I’ve known George since I was a kid. My mom would take me here. He introduced me to “The Hobbit”. So, whatcha doing?” Eddie leaned closer.
“I, uhm, needed some space away from them. I couldn’t take one more second of feeling like my life was being strangled by their presence.” I looked up at him.
“Damn, I couldn’t have said that better myself. That’s a true definition of what it feels like. Didn’t know you could be so wise.” He leaned back against the pillows next to me, smiling.
“Hang around a while, you’ll get there.” I sighed, relaxing next to him.
“Oh, I plan to.” He smirked.
Over the next week I had moved completely from Jason, the jocks, and the cheerleaders. I was a new member of the Hellfire Club. I hadn’t started playing yet, just wanting to get my feet wet. Eddie and I hung out more often. Going to movies, the diner, the arcade, his band practices, and gigs at the Hideout. I got along well with his friends and the kids. I felt like God opened a door for me to finally be free. I was rarely at home. My family had already disowned me. I was told that by graduation, my belongings would be on the curb, and I wasn’t welcome back. Little did they know, I was already living with Eddie and Wayne. I finally found my family.
“And the love of your life. Your prince charming. Knight in shining armour.” Eddie said, looking over my shoulder as I wrote this in my journal.
“Oh, how could I forget?” I set down the book, turning my head to kiss him.
