went to the dentist today bc I've had a tooth bothering me and i finally have dental insurance only to be told that i have not one but SIX FUCKING CAVITIES. I havent been to the dentist since before covid so i figured i was bound to have one or two since i have genetically bad teeth, but it's devastating to hear that no matter how well i care for my teeth, i'm just predisposed to getting them more than most peopleđ
(also side note but if anyone who sees this has experience with botox shots in the masseter/jaw for clenching and grinding your teeth, i would love to hear how it has worked for you. i'm considering trying them but i'd love to get some personal perspective on it first)
#also devastating to my wallet tbh since insurance is only covering 50% of the cost for cavities:/#decided to comfort myself by getting a burger on the way home so i can eat and mope#just one more stressor to my life right now#howw talks

That awkward feeling when you go to a specialist and theyâre like âuh. There are multiple things.â
Like; it turns out Iâve developed a large amount of fibrous tissue inside my mouth as a result of biting and chewing my lip and inner mouth. No other dentist has brought this up, and because itâs inside my mouth and likely developed slowly over time I never really thought about it, but now Iâm like âoh there really is a lump there I hold between my teeth, damn. No one has ever mentioned that.â
Also Iâve been seeking to have Botox injections to assist with the extreme jaw pain and grinding for like. At least over a year. Get in with the dentist specialist and at some point heâs like âuh, you have chronic migraines, why hasnât one of your doctors diagnosed this and put this through? These injections are covered entirely by healthcare for chronic migraines, but Iâm not qualified to diagnose chronic migraines but like. You just said you have a daily migraine condition.â
Between TMJ dentist and Ears Nose and Throat Doctor calling out like âuh, weâre not replacements for your neurologist doing *his* jobâ and the neurosurgeon being like âso, most of what the neurologist said about your MRIs is not what is shown on the MRI.â Iâm like.
90% sure that I need a second opinion from a new neurologist. Not sure how Iâm gonna see a new neurologist peacefully, but like. I was initially on edge because âyou need to lose weightâ was the main advice given, but then that got backed up by a bunch of the community and other doctors jumped on it just right. But I think I need a neurologist who will do more than go âI dunno anything about that, those are part of something else. You need to see other doctors. Just take this medication and lose weight.â

hey have you ever looked into tmj treatments? i honestly donât really understand it so im not going to try to explain too much but basically i used to have what i call headaches but may have been migraines and nobody could help me and finally got referred to a tmj specialist who was like âoh your jaw is super misaligned, youâre grinding your teeth and itâs causing your headachesâ and one of the things he mentioned is that like all the meds and the Botox that I was considering wouldâve been essentially a bandaid for me personallyâmasking the symptoms but not fixing the problem. obviously donât know if this applies to your migraines but especially since Botox has stopped being as effective for you (which sucks, im so sorry to hear that!!) i just wanted to mention it. sorry if any of my explainings didnât make sense/was inaccurate, not trying to spread any falsehoods, this was just based on my experience cause i went from thinking my headaches were incurable to having these incredible retainers that are making my headaches go away almost entirely
i don't have any of the other tmj symptoms so i doubt it tbh!

What Are the Benefits of Baby Botox Compared to Regular Botox?
When it comes to maintaining a youthful and natural look, Botox treatments have become a popular choice for individuals of all ages. Among the various options, Baby Botox has emerged as a subtle and appealing alternative to regular Botox. Designed for those seeking a more natural enhancement, Baby Botox has gained attention for its unique approach to wrinkle prevention and reduction. But how does it compare to traditional Botox? Letâs explore the differences, benefits, and why Baby Botox might be the right choice for you.
What Is Baby Botox?
Baby Botox refers to the administration of smaller doses of botulinum toxin compared to regular Botox. This approach focuses on delivering subtle, natural results by minimizing fine lines and wrinkles without completely freezing facial expressions. Itâs particularly popular among younger individuals or first-time Botox users who want a preventative or understated enhancement.
Baby Botox targets areas like the forehead, crowâs feet, and frown lines but uses a lighter touch, ensuring a refreshed look that retains facial movement.
What Is Regular Botox?
Traditional or regular Botox involves administering standard doses of botulinum toxin to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and dynamic lines. This option is commonly chosen by individuals seeking noticeable changes or those with more prominent signs of aging.
Regular Botox is effective for areas like:
Deep forehead lines
Frown lines (glabellar lines)
Crowâs feet
Masseter Botox for jaw slimming or relief from teeth grinding
While both Baby Botox and regular Botox use the same active ingredient, their differences in dosage and application create varying effects and benefits.
Benefits of Baby Botox Compared to Regular Botox
Natural-Looking Results
One of the most significant benefits of Baby Botox is the natural-looking outcome it delivers. Since it uses smaller doses, it prevents the "frozen" appearance often associated with regular Botox. This makes it an ideal option for those who want subtle improvements without making it obvious that theyâve had work done.
With Baby Botox, fine lines are softened, but facial expressions remain intact, allowing you to maintain a refreshed and youthful appearance.
Preventative Approach
Unlike regular Botox, which is often used to correct existing wrinkles, Baby Botox is a preventative treatment. By targeting early signs of aging, such as fine lines caused by repetitive facial movements, it helps delay the formation of deeper wrinkles.
This proactive approach makes Baby Botox an excellent choice for individuals in their 20s and 30s who want to maintain youthful skin for longer.
Subtle Enhancement for First-Time Users
If youâre new to Botox and feeling apprehensive about drastic changes, Baby Botox offers a gentle introduction. The lighter doses used in Baby Botox allow first-time users to experience the benefits of botulinum toxin without dramatic alterations. Itâs a great way to build confidence in cosmetic treatments.
Minimal Downtime and Side Effects
Both Baby Botox and regular Botox are minimally invasive procedures, but Baby Botoxâs smaller doses often result in reduced risk of side effects. With fewer units injected, thereâs less chance of bruising or swelling at the injection sites. This means you can return to your daily activities almost immediately after treatment.
Customizable Treatment Plans
Baby Botox allows for more precision and customization. Practitioners can tailor the treatment to focus on specific areas with minimal impact, ensuring a bespoke solution that addresses your unique concerns. Whether youâre looking to smooth out fine forehead lines or subtly lift your brows with Botox for a forehead lift, Baby Botox can achieve targeted results.
Cost-Effective Option
Since Baby Botox uses fewer units of botulinum toxin compared to regular Botox, it can be a more cost-effective solution for those seeking mild enhancements. While the results may not last as long as regular Botox, the affordability and flexibility of Baby Botox make it a popular choice for maintenance treatments.
Bridge Between Cosmetic and Functional Treatments
Baby Botox doesnât just cater to cosmetic needs. It can also provide functional benefits in areas like the masseter muscle for individuals experiencing teeth grinding or jaw tension. While regular masseter Botox may involve higher doses for significant muscle relaxation, Baby Botox can provide a mild reduction in muscle activity for those seeking less drastic changes.
Appealing to Younger Demographics
With increasing awareness of skincare and preventative aging, Baby Botox has gained popularity among younger demographics. For those in their 20s and 30s searching for "masseter Botox near me" or similar treatments, Baby Botox offers a solution that aligns with modern beauty ideals of subtlety and natural enhancements.

Softer forehead lines
Subtle lifting of the brows
Refreshed eye area with minimized crowâs feet
Before committing to the treatment, consult with a qualified professional to discuss your goals and view examples of masseter Botox before and after results to better understand the potential outcomes.
Who Should Consider Baby Botox?
Baby Botox is ideal for:
Individuals in their 20s and 30s seeking preventative anti-aging treatments
First-time Botox users wanting subtle enhancements
Those looking for a natural alternative to traditional Botox
Patients interested in addressing mild jaw tension or seeking a softer jawline

On the other hand, regular Botox is ideal for addressing deeper lines and wrinkles or achieving significant facial contouring.

Masseter Botox: The Revolutionary Solution for Jawline Slimming and Pain Relief
Masseter Botox is quickly gaining popularity as a versatile treatment for both cosmetic and medical purposes. Whether youâre looking to achieve a slimmer jawline or alleviate symptoms of jaw pain, this minimally invasive procedure offers impressive results. Hereâs everything you need to know about Masseter Botox, its benefits, and what to expect from the treatment.
What is Masseter Botox?
Masseter Botox involves injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter muscles, which are located on the sides of the jaw and are responsible for chewing. These muscles can become enlarged due to frequent clenching, grinding (bruxism), or excessive chewing, leading to a square or bulky jawline. Botox relaxes these muscles, helping to reduce their size over time and providing both aesthetic and therapeutic benefits.
The Benefits of Masseter Botox
Cosmetic Jawline Slimming:
For individuals with a wide or square-shaped jaw, Masseter Botox creates a more contoured and slimmer facial profile.
This treatment is especially popular in those seeking a V-shaped jawline.
Relief from Bruxism:
Botox helps reduce teeth grinding and jaw clenching by relaxing the masseter muscles.
This can prevent further damage to teeth and reduce associated symptoms like headaches and jaw pain.
Reduction in TMJ Pain:
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders can cause significant discomfort.
Masseter Botox alleviates pain by relaxing the overactive muscles that put pressure on the joint.
Non-Surgical and Quick:
The procedure is minimally invasive, with no need for surgery or extensive downtime.
What to Expect During the Procedure
Consultation:
A licensed practitioner evaluates your jawline, muscle activity, and concerns to determine if Masseter Botox is suitable for you.
The Procedure:
The treatment involves several small injections into the masseter muscles on both sides of the jaw.
The process typically takes 10â20 minutes and is relatively painless.
Post-Treatment Care:
Avoid massaging the treated area for 24 hours.
You can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.
Results:
Changes in muscle size appear gradually over 4â6 weeks.
The effects typically last 3â6 months, depending on individual muscle activity.
Who is a Good Candidate for Masseter Botox?
Individuals seeking a slimmer jawline or relief from bruxism and TMJ symptoms.
Those with healthy skin and no allergies to Botox.
People looking for a non-surgical solution for jawline contouring.
Conclusion
Masseter Botox is a revolutionary treatment offering dual benefits for aesthetics and health. Whether you're aiming to achieve a sleek, contoured jawline or seeking relief from jaw pain and grinding, this non-invasive procedure is an effective solution. Always consult a qualified professional to ensure the best results and a safe experience.

This guide will explain what TMD is, why it's so common in NYC, and most importantly, how you can find effective TMD Treatment New York City.
What is TMD and Why is it Common in New York City?
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) affects the joints connecting your jaw to your skull, as well as the surrounding muscles and tissues. These joints play a crucial role in day-to-day activities such as talking, chewing, and yawning. When something goes wrongâwhether due to excessive tension, misalignment, or injuryâit can cause pain, limited jaw movement, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
But why does TMD seem to be so prevalent in New York City?
Stress and Tension: NYC's fast-paced lifestyle can introduce significant stress. Many people unconsciously clench their jaws or grind their teeth as a response to stress, both of which can contribute to TMD.
Poor Posture: Spending long hours hunched over a desk, laptop, or phoneâa common habit in the professional hustle of NYCâcan strain the jaw and neck areas.
Busy, On-the-Go Lifestyles: Skipping meals, chewing gum on the subway, or eating hard or chewy foods on the run can all strain your jaw joints.
If you're nodding along, wondering if your habits or stressors might be causing your discomfort, the good news is that recognizing these patterns is the first step toward finding relief.
Signs and Symptoms of TMD
Think you might have TMD? Here are some of the most common signs to look out for:
Persistent pain or tenderness in the jaw area.

Difficulty opening your mouth fully or locking of the jaw.
Frequent headaches or neck and shoulder pain.
Trouble chewing or biting down evenly.
A typical scenario might include waking up with jaw soreness after a night of teeth grinding. Or perhaps youâve experienced difficulty chewing lunch during a busy workday, only to notice your jaw feels stiff and uncomfortable.
The presence of one or more of these symptoms may suggest TMD, but professional evaluation is essential. If the symptoms resonate with you, a TMD specialist in New York City can provide precise diagnosis and treatment options tailored to your needs.
