I just realized that none of the kids who died in the wilderness have a death anniversary. Not even the girls (and Travis) know when anyone died...

NOW LISTEN TO ME!!!!
I have a list of plot ideas for future fanfics of mine and damn, I just added another one that has me giddy in the best way 😵‍💫😵‍💫 Like, imagine a reader who is Travis' sister, the result of an extramarital relationship that the coach had. The plot would basically be this: The reader and Travis know that they are siblings and have never needed to hear it openly from another person, they just know and there has always been that great tense atmosphere between the two where they both basically hate each other, the reader hates Travis because she thinks the coach never accepted her or treated her like a daughter and she puts this blame on Travis, while Travis hates the reader because even though her father never accepted her, he could see in the coach's distant looks that she was the desired daughter and that she should have been accepted.
So we add all this sibling rivalry and hatred to the fact that now everyone is stuck in the middle of nowhere and Travis and the Reader are actively forced to live together and the Reader has started to get closer to Javi because he is so sweet to her and she has always wanted a little brother and it doesn't even matter that he has no idea that she is his sister. Also the fact that Travis and the Reader start to gravitate towards Natalie in their own ways, until they both find themselves in this messy web of years-old anger over things neither of them is really to blame for, rivalry, hurt, resentment and the deep but extremely blocked desire by all the trauma to work things out, to be that figure of brotherhood, comfort and trust that they both want and need so badly (don't get me wrong, Javi is the best boy but he is younger and I think they both could use that understanding that comes with people their own age).
Okay this is great but is Travis or the reader older OR was coach martinez actively cheating on his pregnant wife cause that'd be wild...
I'd really like to see this whenever you write it!!

Ch 10 - DO YOUR JOB
You can find all the chapters available here

<< Previous Chapter | Next Chapter >>
A/N: Well guys, here we are going to start having a different Javier. It’s a toxic couple, I hope you know that. And, if you’re enjoying it, send me DM’s, talk to me, I love knowing what you’re thinking. And I also apologize for the grammatical errors, as you know I am translating, but soon I will have help, and this problem will be solved. Starting next week, I will post one chapter per week. We’re almost over... thank you all.
After the conversation that you are Javier had in the file room. Both you and Javi have avoided each other, even more so, if it was possible. It was ridiculous. But that's what was happening. You greeted each other with just a nod professionally. No words. Whenever they needed to talk, it was Murphy who came to you.
You found yourself sad a few times. Ugh! Many feelings have passed through you. Especially disappointment with yourself, for thinking that with you it was different. Never was. But you missed it. Your miss Javier, who is attentive, careful and protective.
Why did he do this to you?
He gave you a taste of how good he could be, only to later remind you how he could be extremely bad. Reckless and irresponsible. It seemed like he was controlled by two extremes. Either he was pulling you to him, or he was pushing you away from him.
It's okay that the goal of both of you was to catch Pablo Escobar. But unfortunately in this environment you got involved, and now you needed to deal with it.
Javier was right. You needed to stop being innocent. But you didn't have to stop being cautious. And you feared for him, where would it end up taking you both.
***
Christmas was coming. Another year is ending. As you were in the middle of Medellin, with no family, friends, or anything else. Your plan was to update the records, organize the agenda, catalog wiretapping, check possible connections and clues... and ignore Christmas.
Apparently someone had the same plans as you, about ignoring the Christmas spirit.
Another attack took place in the midst of Christmas ornaments, where children would be seeing the bodies of cruelly mutilated dead men.
"Feliz Navidad, Pablo" The sign said.
Javier looked at you on the other side of the table when he received the complaint. You shook your head coming out of the room a little bewildered. Just imagining that Javier could be involved with such violence, you wanted to vomit. Out, of course, the excess of details you had access to. That made you dream for weeks about the possibility of being you or him there. Or anyone in the department. Anyway.
These attacks were fomented by Los Pepes. You knew who had given that freedom. Him. And now there was no more control.
And Javier knew you were right. But now he couldn't go back. Javier created his own monster, which he would have to defeat.
And so followed the deaths, and the deaths that took over the media. Pepes were reported on all channels. And something had to be done.
Colonel Martinez called a meeting.
"We intercepted a call from an Escobar sicario, and we will monitor, and keep them informed. I also want to say that we know that there is another group acting in the same goal as ours, Los Pepes, we should not match them at all. The difference must be clear between them and us."
Javier didn't take his eyes off you. You didn't take your eyes off him. Knowing exactly that this information would come out of there directly to God knows to whom he would provide it. And you didn't have the courage to submit this information to the superintendence.
You became who you feared most in your work. All because of who you hated and avoided the most all this time, and now I couldn't stop thinking. You dug your own grave, and your biggest sin was lust.
You left the room behind Agents Peña and Murphy, tried not to listen to the conversation, but you listened.
"Los Pepes is an interesting unfolding," Murphy commented.
"Escobar has many enemies," Peña observed.
"I heard from Messina that a lot of people are watching them and us," Murphy looked back in his direction.
Javier looked over his shoulders.
You pretended not to notice.
"Are you secretly working for Los Pepes?" Javier asked Murphy relaxed.
"No," he laughed.
"So there's nothing to worry about"
But Javier was. And he had to worry. And you worried about him. Since he didn't have a shred of judgment in that hollow head.
***
The search group went out in an operation looking for the sicario who intercepted the call. But guess what? When they found the house. He had already been caught.
Murphy became suspicious. Late, you recognize it. But he connected the dots.
"When we finally confirmed that it was Jairo, Martinez gave the search order and when we arrived Los Pepes had already caught him"
"So?"
"And how did Los Pepes get here first?"
"He may have been followed. Or he said shit and someone heard it"
"Hm, is that all you have to say?"
Javier shrugged.
"I have a theory"
"And what would it be?" Javier asked while lighting a cigarette.
"I think someone is leaking information"
Javier shrugged again.
"And I think someone who may have reasons for that. You know... someone who stayed out long enough and went through terrible situations that may be being used from the inside..."
Javier stiffened. How could Murphy make an assumption like this about you and not him?
"Don't put her in the middle of it," Javier murmured. And walked away from Murphy, "if you're worried, investigate!" He raised a tone of voice as he walked.
***
You have received new information from the Embassy. You didn't want to pass it on to the Agents. Peña wasn't being careful at all. He didn't filter the information, he dumped everything to Los Pepes.
But it was your job.
You walked to the duo's table.
"We received new information from the Embassy"
Javier reached out to access the envelope, but you handed it to Steve, leaving him in a vacuum.
"Centra Spike give us a Christmas present?" Javier asked anxiously.
"Blackie is receiving phone calls from Envigado," you explained.
"The son of a bitch has a girlfriend," Murphy added.
Javier took the envelope from Steve's hand.
You and Steve looked at each other. You arched your eyebrows. Steve kept watching. Looking at Javier and you.
You reached out to Javier asking for the envelope back.
"I'll take it to Colonel Martinez to investigate"
Javier did not return it, until he read until the last line of the transcript.
"Yes, of course, as you wish," he then returned it to Murphy, and Murphy passed it on to you.
You rolled your eyes.
He left a few minutes later.
You went after it.
Murphy watched.
You picked up Javier on the phone.
"You don't waste time" you interrupted.
He turned to look at you.
"If you're going to keep doing this, even with everything that..."
"Shut up"
Javier sticks to your arm, and drags you to the cleaning room.
"Let me go"
"Be quiet" Javier squeezes your arm.
"You're hurting me" your voice fails, your breathing starts to get irregular "please."
Javier looks at you. He knows that his attitude awakens triggers in you. He lets go of your arm abruptly.
"Stop following me"
"Why? Are you afraid that they will find out that you are the fucking informant of a paramilitary faction?"
He advances on you, you smash your eyes, retreating until you touch the wall. Javier leaves you cornered, putting his hands next to your shoulder. Staring at you. The eyes running down your face, while your breath is heavy. Javier feels your body stiffen. He see the fear in your eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" You murmur, your voice failing.
He deflects his face quickly. Your stomach is turning.
"You're scaring me," you whisper.
"Stop acting like a child" Javier growls to you.
"You may lose your position" you try to find his look.
"It's working, isn't it?" He speaks rudely to you "we are leaving Pablo cornered, never before have we managed to catch so many sicaires, the siege is closing and tomorrow it could be him"
You sort the air through your mouth.
"This is not right, you are a Federal Agent, your work is against drug trafficking does not join him"
"I'm not joining anyone," he leans over you.
"I should report you"
Javier holds your jaw, without strength, but firm.
"Do your fucking job, and stay away from me," he says looking into your eyes.
You push him.
"Why did you rescue me? It would be much easier for you to let me die in that place. It would save you so much regret"
"Stop playing the poor thing, you're better than that..."
You took a step past it, but retreated side by side, to talk more.
"Don't worry Agent Peña, I already understood the message, I understood that you regretted taking me to your bed, and preferred to pretend that you didn't know me when the day dawned, I understood that you feel responsible, rest assured, you have no obligation to me"
"I wouldn't pretend if you slept with me every night"
WHAT? Jesus...
Javier grabs you, running his hand over your waist, pulling your body to his, kissing your lips.
You struggle in the tightness of your body against his chest. But he kisses you without caring about your slaps. Urgent. Messy. Raising you on his lap. Putting you on the table of cleaning material. Dropping the products on the floor. No worries if someone listened to you two in that tiny room. And before you reasoned, you were kissing him back.
Javier's hands squeezed your leg and waist, pulling your body against his, pressing on you. While you were pulling his hair. Your erratic breathing in a desperate kiss.
Javier goes down his lips around your neck, inhaling your perfume.
"I missed you," he murmured close to your ear.
"You'll get over it"
You tilt your head back. While Javier's hands unbutton your shirt frantically.
The other hand snakes under your skirt, you moan. Javier's fingers find the lace of your panties.
Your shirt already unbuttoned, Javier goes down his lips to your bra. Leaning you back to almost lie down on the table. He pulls the lace of the bra down releasing your nipple. That goes straight to his mouth.
You try not to make noise. Javier's fingers, pulling the fabric of your already damp panties to the side, his finger sliding over your middle. You spread your legs for him.
"I think you missed it too," he says with his lips on your skin.
He slides two fingers inside you. You pull the air through your open mouth with pleasure. Trying not to moan.
Your hands go down to his pants, where he is rigid, hard and needy. The touch makes Javier gasp.
"I don't think more than you" you say, touching his cock, disarming him completely.
You straighten the posture, and he establishes himself with his feet on the ground, while you pass your hand through his greeting pressing, massaging. Big and thick, in your small hand.
Javier stretches his hand back to turn the door lock.
You faded his pants and pulled the zipper. Javier leans over to kiss you.
He fucked you there. Against the wall. With his hands in your mouth, to drown out your needy moans, while he slid his cock inside you, strong, aggressive. As if he wanted to punish you. As if that were his punishment.
"I like how your mouth is silent when I'm inside you," he growled gravely in your ear.
You came while Javier held one of your legs next to his hip, giving him a perfect position inside you, leaving him the deepest you've ever felt.
"Javi" you sighed throwing your head back.
"Fuck!" He let out an animalistic sound with his head tilted back, when you started pulsing around his cock, with your body being pressed against the wall, your head hitting against the wall as he sinks violently inside you, with you having spasms of pleasure. Javier couldn't take it for another second, and you felt him fill you with the thick jets painting the walls of your pussy.
It was hard to think and avoid desire. It was difficult to control your body that longed for Javier, when your head couldn't find the strength to simply give you the coordinates to get away from that man.
"I won't keep doing this" you closed the buttons on your shirt.
"What? Sex?" He asks in a fun tone.
You face him.
"It's a little late for you to think about celibacy," Javier mocks.
You fake a fake smile.
"I'm not someone you can come and get what you need when you want, and how you want and then go out acting like I'm nobody, pretending I'm invisible. You don't have to pay me to fuck me, but unfortunately I have feelings"
Javier looked at you seriously.
"I'm not the one you want, it's the feeling, so have fun with others. You don't even want me near you, I don't understand what you think Javier"
"Are you going to have fun with others?" There was an anticipation in Javier's tone of voice.
"Maybe. Maybe I should. Maybe I should have fun with someone who really wants to have fun with me, someone who really cares about me, and it's not just an obligation."
Javier grinded his jaw.
"This won't happen anymore..." you repeated.
You had your hand on the door, turning the key, to get out.
You hesitated for a moment. You waited for an answer, you waited for Javier to say something. But Javier didn't say anything. He just leaned on the table, watching you go out with his head down.
You shook your head. And you left.
Javier tilted his head back, running his hands over his face. Alone in the living room, still with a foggy head about the sex they just had.
He couldn't say anything to you. How to explain that he thinks of you every single day, every fucking moment. That the fucking smell of your body moisturizer sticks to his skin, and it's like a drug that turns off his senses. That nothing compares to when he is inside you, feeling your warmth, as if they were one thing. That he never felt that way.
How could he say that, when he was Javier Peña. When he was leaking information from inside the department to other drug traffickers. You were very involved. He was very involved. That had no chance of ending well. But he didn't want to drag you with him into this hole.
How could he tell you that you mean a lot to him. When his mouth said something and his head said another, and his heart said something even more different.
But Javier was mostly inconsequential. And his inconsistency always ended up speaking louder.
***
At least, the time Javier spent fucking you from the cleaning room, Murphy managed to pass on the information to Colonel Martinez about the listening you gave them earlier about Blackie.
They organized the search group to surround the area. But he did it without Javier. Agent Peña only knew when the search team was leaving the base.
"Fucking Christmas miracle" Peña murmured to himself.
Peña was worried. A whole tactical team positioned to make a blockade, and intercept Blackie, when he knew that from the information he leaked, at any moment, Los Pepes would be there too.
He tried to warn Don Berna. But it was too late.
Los Pepes were already close to the address. And Colonel Martínez ordered a blitz through the region. And they fell on the street where the cars were being stop.
It turns out that the officer responsible for the blitz was the son of Colonel Martínez, and when the Castaño brothers' car was stopped, and asked to present documents. Fidel offered money to the officer.
The integrity of Martinez's son equal to or superior to that of his father. And trying to bribe him triggered exactly what Javier tried to avoid.
When Martinez relocated the units to sector 20 which was where his son was, Murphy passed on the information to Javier, and an icy hollow invaded his stomach, already wondering what it could be.
Carlos Castaño tried to inform the officer that they were on the same side. But in a desperate attitude, the officer pointed the gun at him. All the other paramilitaries in the cars behind came down from the cars, heavily armed, with semi-automatics, and machine guns.
Javier and Murphy arrived and witnessed the conflict. Immediately Murphy got out of the car almost in motion.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" He despaired when he saw all the weapons pointed at the colonel's son "Calma! ¡Calma! Deja ir el arma” Murphy’s horrible Spanish.
Javier didn't get out of the car. Prosecuting. The shit that was going on.
They started yelling at each other. Threatening each other.
“¡Bravo! ¡Bravo! ¡Bravo! ¡Qué hombres! Bravo” he got out of the car, and clapped his hands "Sí, lo sabemos, todos queremos a Pablo" he was walking to Carlos Castaño "Pero tienes que dejarnos hacer nuestro puto trabajo, ¿de acuerdo?"
Javier was panting. The breathing failed. The tension hovered in the air. He knew everyone there was crazy. And that anyone could start a slaughter.
He approached Carlos Castaño's ear.
"¿Qué? ¿Nos vamos a matar en una puta barrera?" Javier turned to Fidel, right behind his brother "¡Deja caer el arma! ¡Babajo el arma!"
Carlos Castaño handed the gun to Javier.
Javier turned to the officer.
"They think they're helping us" Javier hands the gun to the officer, and holds his face "Okay? Is everything okay?"
"Yes, sir," the officer replies.
"Let's go back home alive" Javier smiles panting "Right?"
"Right"
"Déjalos pasar"
"Ok"
And so it was. They went through the blockade.
And Murphy understood there, what was happening.
"What? I know I was avoiding a bloodbath" Javier shrugged.
Murphy smiled ironically. Understanding everything perfectly now.
In short, they didn't catch Blackie that day. The girlfriend didn't deliver it, of course. And they lost the operation.
Javier had surrendered there. Colonel Martinez also had a moment of lucidity just like Murphy.
You saw Javier pass by your table with big steps, he stared at you for a brief moment, his eyes worried, disappointed. You understood that the situation was not good.
Murphy passed right behind him following his trail. You stretched out on the table to see them talk. Agent Murphy almost stuck to Javier.
"When would you intend to tell me about your new friend Carlos Castaño?"
Javier looked at you over his shoulders. Hesitant.
"He's not my friend. We have a common interest"
Murphy shook his head.
"My God Javi, I hope you know what you're doing"
"Don't worry, I won't involve you"
Murphy looked at you, pointing with his chin in your direction.
"And her?"
Javier stays still.
"What about her?"
"Do she know?"
Javier doesn't answer.
"I'll imagine that she doesn't know and that's why you're not being suspended, since she would report you at the first opportunity, right?"
Javier knew where Steve wanted to go. If you knew and didn't file the complaint, you would be an accomplice of Javier. And if you didn't know, you would be the worst assistant ever seen in the United States of America.
"Right," Javier replied.
"I'm not worried about myself..."
"I know how to take care of myself"
"With this kind of guys you shouldn’t get involved, Javi”
Javier hesitates. He looks at you sitting behind your desk, hold it now after being kidnapped, you've already warned him about it. And he already knew.
"You're going to drag her into the middle of this madness"
"She's very big to take care of her life, Murphy"
"I thought you liked her..."
Javier stared at Murphy.
"If you are interested..." Javier raises an eyebrow.
"Go to hell Peña, if she knows something, and doesn't talk, know that she's taking a risk for you. I'm telling you because you're stupid enough not to recognize"
"They will do this, with or without my help. At least this way, I'm in the middle, and I have control" Javier hesitates "not to cross the limit"
"So as not to cross the limit?" Steve frowned "did they take the girl, pointed a fucking gun at an officer's head and the bandits come out unharmed?"
"Who are the good guys Steve? That’s us?"
The two face each other in silence. Javi walked by leaps and bounds, you accompanied him passing by you with your eyes.
***
The Castaño brothers were being efficient, but Pablo Escobar was Pablo Escobar, he had eyes and ears throughout the city of Medellin.
Escobar managed to find out who were the faces that personified Los Pepes. And he knew that the Castaño brothers would only act like this moved by money. And he knew that Judy Moncada wouldn't have enough money to move them. Following the line of reasoning after Judy, it turns the Cali cartel.
Pablo orchestrated an attack on the wedding day of Gilberto Rodriguez's daughter, blowing up all the millionaire wedding decoration, with the bomb that exploded in the middle of the event.
And it was at this point in history that things went off the rails for good.

@itchose: i think you did what you had to do.
she knows that. not once has she felt remorse for her father's death, because she knows that he had it coming for years. mikayla doesn't know what the rest of the world is saying about her, but she's sure it's not good, if what some of the inmates have said is any indication of that, but she doesn't care what a world full of strangers think. she cares what the others think, all of the survivors, constantly wondering if they understand it had nothing to do with what they went through, that the bloodlust they'd experience during a hunt hadn't followed her home. she knows nat understands. she thought tai would, too, but the longer she goes without hearing from her, the less sure of herself she becomes. so it's nice to know that even if she doesn't have her, she has travis.
years ago, she never would have imagined that travis fucking martinez would be one of the only visitors she had in prison, because she never paid him any mind, never even bothered to learn his name until the plane crashed, but she hardly questions it now. his brother would have been there for her, something that's crossed her mind several times, but each time, it only makes her feel worse, bile threatening to raise in her throat. she thinks that might be part of the reason travis is here, for javi, because it's what he would have wanted, even if she doesn't deserve it. not because of what she did do to her father, but because of what she didn't do for javi.
“ i did, ” she says quietly, looking down at her hands, at the scars across her knuckles. mikayla knows that some people don't entirely believe that, preferring to believe that what she did to her father was all because of her trauma from what happened out there. but he has to know better, so she doesn't feel the same need to defend herself, to explain herself. and she shouldn't have to, because the story of that night was written all across the bruises on her face in that mugshot, even if some people want to forget about that.
it's difficult to force herself to meet his eyes, but she manages, knowing that she has to look less pathetic. rescue was supposed to mean something good, was supposed to give her the opportunity to become someone better than who she was before the crash, who she had to be after. it wasn't supposed to mean this: that she'd be here, lonelier than she'd ever felt before, consumed by self-doubt and insecurity that hadn't existed months ago. “ i'm glad you're here, ” she allows herself to admit, posture straightening. “ i didn't think you'd come. ”

travis martinez is a much more interesting character thematically than i think anyone in the yj fandom has thus far given him credit for.
putting aside that he is 1) a teenager 2) full of 90s-era toxic masculinity 3) who is going through the same fucked-up experience as the girls, 4) with the added stress of losing his father and trying and constantly failing to take care of his kid brother (because he is a traumatized teenager)...
ok. the thematic purpose of travis, beyond being nat's Fridged Wife Who Motivates The Plot in the present, in 1996 is to be the lynchpin of the subversion of the gender-imbalance group dynamic.
(an aside: hilarious in a meta way how the fandom treats the one underwritten male char in a mostly female cast the same way they usually treat the one underwritten female character in a mostly male cast: with anger, hatred and refusal to examine him with any nuance, especially as it pertains to being in a relationship with someone he isn’t ‘worthy’ of. aside over.)
to put it simply: flip the genders. imagine that the yellowjackets are an all-male team, and travis is the only teenage girl alone for months in the woods with a pack of hormonal athletic teenage boys who are going feral.
now you get it.
i think it's brilliant that that isn't even a possibility in the audience's minds at first that the same danger we automatically attribute to 'teenage girl alone, surrounded by boys with no one to help' goes completely unnoticed, when you know the first thing we'd all think if the genders were swapped would vary from 'haha hope nothing happens 🙂' to 'you're in fucking danger.'
it's so ingrained in us to assume, because of all the notions about teenage girl behavior vs teenage boy behavior, that travis will either be totally safe with them or The Man (jackie's 109 'dude stranded with a bunch of babes' comment, anyone?) who's gonna have an incredible time hooking up with all these girls.
and it doesn't occur to anyone watching to think that he might be in just as much danger, or that the girls might be capable of having the exact same bad intentions and being willing to act on them... until it already happens in doomcoming. (and even then, i don't see anyone in the fandom discussing this at all, or considering how they'd feel about that scene if it were a group of boys doing it to a girl)
so uh. a theory, about what travis's role in the wilderness cult could be:
[spoilers for seasons 1 and 2 up to 205]
the communal boyfriend. i am 100% serious. here's what i'm basing this off of:
the yellowjacket symbolism. it's the title of the series, the mascot of the team, and therefore should be examined more closely for symbolism and potential plot revelations.
yellowjackets in nature are particularly vicious species of wasp. they are a cannibalistic, territorial species who can sting many times without dying, who have an almost entirely female social structure-- queen, workers/soldiers-- with the only males being drones used only for reproduction. they live underground, hibernate and breed in spring. only the queen breeds and she disposes of any competition.
if the show's going to take the symbolism to its logical conclusion in terms of parallels, the girlcult must resemble a yellowjacket hive: we already have mostly-female cannibals occupying a territory that they are beginning to map in s2. they have retreated indoors during winter.
going forward, it'd make sense if
with javi's mysterious survival outdoors in a climate we know that will kill anyone who sleeps outside overnight, all these mysterious trees with melted snow, lottie envisioning underground tunnels, (and to a lesser extent the girls finding a stream running red and the compass not working, which could be caused by mineral runoff + the plane likely crashing in british columbia, which is full of defunct mines)... there is some kind of bunker, underground cave/cave system or mine that the group will find.
if the showrunners aren't lying, the group will split, ergo one needs to find a shelter other than the cabin. that underground lair will become the base camp of one of the two clans, probably lottie's if the symbolism will be at its strongest.
they will likely begin shrooming and dooming in earnest in spring/s3.
lottie is the only character who is built up enough and has the sufficient motivations and sway with the group to be the yellowjacket queen. it can't be any of the jv girls because they aren't developed enough. it can't be mari or van, because they're consummate followers. it can't be akilah, who doesn't have any interest in leadership, or misty, who no one would follow. it can't be nat, because she's a loner. it could be shauna, who has moments of leadership potential (see: starting the midnight snackie, being the source of the group's hope via her pregnancy), or taissa, who wants to lead the group badly (and whose fugue personality is connected somehow to the cult).
but so far, the only character with a built-up support base who buzz around her protectively, who keeps being framed with antlers around her head, is lottie.
so. lottie is the closest thing to a queen the group will have. whether this means she's literally delegating tasks, or behaving as an oracle figure is irrelevant. she is the leader.
the previous yellowjacket queen was jackie, who lottie humiliates and dethrones during doomcoming, when she crowns herself with the antlers. and what was jackie up to during doomcoming? fucking travis. we'll get back to that in a sec. first:
lottie will have some involvement in the death of shauna's baby. maybe she and her cult sacrifice it. maybe they smother it. maybe they leave it outside so ~the forest can decide what to do with it.~ hopefully it isn't justified as ~just a misunderstanding~ -- if the symbolism is at its strongest, the queen, who at this point can't be anyone other than lottie, will make the choice to kill or in some way cause the death of the baby because it isn't hers, in order to keep control of the group and weaken shauna (who is showing moments of strong leadership potential).
since the yellowjacket queen is the only one to breed (see: jackie getting angry at shauna for getting pregnant/having sex before she could, and taking travis, the only eligible guy, away for sex during the party), and since we've already seen travis show attraction to lottie, and lottie attempt to fuck travis during doomcoming...
and since the only male yellowjackets are drones used only for sex...
my guess is that travis's role in this society is as, well, community dick. this isn't gonna be the bachelor. this is going to be dubconny, creepy and deeply disturbing.
that was my main point, but here are a few others.
2. consider teen girl hierarchy: the highest-ranking teen girls are always in relationships, and within teen girl social groups, boyfriends are more like accessories than partners. a teenage girl's status is increased among her peers if she has a boyfriend, and if that boyfriend is desirable.
it follows that whoever the leader of the cult is (... almost certainly lottie), a symbol of her power over the others would be having (sexual) access to travis, and, if doomcoming is foreshadowing, being able to bestow it on others in her inner circle as a reward.
3. back on travis as a subversion of gender roles: instead of being a hunter, i think it'd be a natural reversal for him to end up being the one who stays at home and has to provide sex for survival. (recall his comments in 105 re men vs women and the role of the hunter)
4. if nat's s1 comments about travis not believing in lottie are going to make sense, he has to at some point before the rescue turn on lottie and her belief system and return to nat and her side of the clan divide.
the obvious breaking point would be javi, who seems afraid of lottie in particular (and likely witnessed her doomcoming activities) and may not want to go along with her activities. if lottie or her followers harm or kill javi, travis has to have a crisis of faith.
for what its worth, i also think that if he ends up in this ‘arrangement’ with lottie's cult, or realizes where it's going, that stands as sufficient motivation for him to break away from them and return to nat's side. it's not Why I Think It'll Happen, but it does strengthen the idea.
5. the writers say that the girls do far more transgressive shit than cannibalism.
sure, rape/coercing sex from someone doesn't have to be it, but it's definitely in the ballpark. especially if it's girls doing it to a boy, because of how little people are able to wrap their minds around it and how uncomfortable it would make them.
i mean, again, look at how people react to doomcoming and just consider: if it were a group of drugged-up feral teenage boys trying to have sex with an equally drugged-up teenage girl, pinning her down, ripping her clothes off, biting her, and then responding to her running from them by hunting her through the woods, tying her down, gagging her, and nearly slitting her throat... i don't think people would be brushing this aside as much. let alone insisting the ringleader is just misunderstood and well intentioned.
not exactly sure how to end this, so i'll just boomerang back to the lord of the flies question that got the story started-- why would we expect teenage girls to behave any better than teenage boys if traumatized and left to their own devices in isolation?-- ... why wouldn't this happen?
and as a depressing addendum, since he comes home in the 1990s, if this happens, he can literally tell no one because no one would believe it, or he'd become the punchline to a terrible joke.

Gonna cheat and ask you for Yellowjackets! (Haven't seen it but I'm having fun watching your thoughts anyway. My fandom-in-law!)
Fandom-in-law, I love it so much!!!!! But seriously, if you support women's wrongs and are chill with a little cannibalism you should watch the show.
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) Lottie Matthews. Cult leader and only child representation. Despite her good intentions she's never had a good role model and sure isn't about to become one any time soon. Also, I find it fascinating how she's either a prophet or a lunatic but so deeply dehumanized by everyone around her. I really feel for her.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) Javi Martinez. Innocent traumatized kid. Fell through the ice. Very edible. Idk his death was the saddest one to me this season.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) Simone (Tai's wife) got sidelined/(hopefully not) fridged this season. One of the few characters in this show to have any common sense. Apparently is an academic and I want to know more about her aside from being Tai's wife.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) Mrs. Martinez. Like, imagine your shitty soccer coach husband takes your sons to Seattle for a soccer championship. They never make it because the plane crashed and the team was stranded in the wilderness for 18 months. Your husband died in the plane crash but your sons survived for months. Only one came home and he's not the same and never recovers. He ate his brother in order to survive the winter. I hope she gets at least 30 seconds more screen time. I want to know more about her.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) Taissa Turner. Not every woman can be a deadbeat dad but she finds a way.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) Shauna Shipman. No matter what situation she's in she someone manages to make the worst possible life choices. It's basically a talent.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) The pedophile cop whose name I don't care to remember. No redeeming qualities whatsoever, he's not even entertaining.

Just wanted to say loved your fic. Canon is sad so I was looking for happy fics and your fic is just what I needed and also the first proper poly fic! Based on Nat crying scene I guess they did have to eat someone to survive however their love / support system stopped them going overboard like on show? The doctor was Mvp she deserves a wedding invite. Ugh Screw the bad parents ( I wonder how they will handle the dynamic I can see the good parents being fine with it) I can’t wait to see other reactions and what happened in wilderness (I bet mari tried to start shit like you said) can’t wait to read more! Oh I forgot loved the soul marks and table you made
thank u! i love making characters suffer in the moment but at my heart i always want a happy ending because i’m a sap lol.
it’s pretty up for interpretation but i was imagining nat’s nightmare to be her having to face the martinez family mom and being blamed for coach martinez and javi’s death. at the time i didn’t even know javi actually died i was just picturing her feeling guilty over faking his death and almost letting him die but now it’s even worse!
I want an adult to take these girls and help them sooooo bad. like a qualified adult needs to nurture them please and so i did it myself! sidenote: another part of why i added the soulmate element was so it would be harder for it to be outright rejected by society. i still think they’d hide it for the most part cause it is weird, but the parents would learn to accept it. (as someone w religious parents who work in psychology helping queer people adopt, transition, etc and fight for queer rights i imagine laura lee’s parents to be similar)
The Table was a journey for me and i’m glad people approve ashddggsga

Colonel Martinez Imagine
Toddler Girl Imagine
So señoritas y señores, I decided to get started with the toddler daughter imagine, thanks to @seltsamkind , to whom I will dedicate this post. Enjoy!❤️❤️❤️
I also added two audios for anyone who wants music while reading!
Tumblr media
They say that little sisters have an obsession with their elder brothers. Well, that was the case for your precious princess who at the moment, was holding your skirt and asking for her brother, not letting you finish the cooking procedure. However, you wouldn't get mad at her since it wasn't the first time this was happening. Both you and your husband recognized the weakness she had on him.
"Your brother will not be late, sweetheart. He will come with your dad soon. Now go and play checkers with uncle Javi and I will join you later, ok?" Your princess nodded with a pout on her face and headed to the living room. She wasn't a big fan of Peña, you know. But she would usually laugh when he was trying to amuse her with these funny faces he made. This time, it didn't work though. Your daughter was still pouting. "I didn't do anything stupid, right?" Javier asked you confused. "Don't mind her. She has her father's stubbornness. She is a Martinez Javi, what did you expect? Hugo had warned me for that." you replied while joining the "uncle and niece" duo in the living room. Your little girl instantly rushed towards you as she wanted you to hold her in your arms, which you did. Then Javier started singing a nursery rhyme to please the princess, but he failed since she was shutting her ears and burying her face on your shoulder. "No singing, uncle Javi!" she shouted angrily, making him eventually give up trying. It was her day, somehow. That was official.
After a three-hour chit chat with Peña and an infinite mother-daughter hand game, the door finally opened and someone started whistling familiar notes. Your princesa got up without wasting time and ran towards her dearly beloved brother, who held her in the air, making her clap her tiny hands in delight. Cute moment, wasn't it? You couldn't stop admiring them. You loved them both, even if Hugo Jr wasn't your real son.
"Where is your papá, Hugo?" you asked after noticing your husband's absence. "He has to get something finished and he'll be back, not late." your other precious answered. "Now I'm taking this little one with me in the bedroom, if you need anything, tell me." he added before going upstairs with his little sister, whom he adored. You see, when you got pregnant, you thought that he would get emotionally hurt and never accept neither you nor her as his family. And hurting him was the last thing you wanted. But you were proven wrong. Your stepson was always trying to spend as much time as he could with you before and after the birth of his sister. Mature way of treating your father's second wife, right? That's kinda unusual in other families.
And about ten minutes later, your husband finally came home. You instantly went to greet him with a kiss and Peña made a kind of funny military waving, to which Hugo replied with calling him "Agent Peña". "The children?" he asked after turning his sight at you. "Playing upstairs. The little one wouldn't stop being grumpy and stubborn if little Hugo hadn't come earlier." you responded. "Little Hugo? Seriously?" Javier asked you surprised. "Not my fault that senior and junior Martinez have the same first name, Peñita. I wanted a way that would help me not to mistake them. And yes! Seriously!" you told him. "Now let's get seated and play cards. I'll wreck you both!" you said confidently.
And that's how it went. You were so lucky that you couldn't stop winning any round, making Javier a little angry and Hugo ready to give up. They were always wondering how you were so good at cards and wanted to know your secret. "Alright, alright! One more time you win, Imma give up and kill you!" Peña warned you. You told him that it was only a game, but don't pretend that you didn't know him. Annoyingly competitive. "Oh please! I mean, you always win. You stole the Colonel's heart without effort, you married him and now you have a child or two with the mini Martinez. And for like two hours, you have been wrecking our asses. What's the secret of your luck?" Javier funnily complained. Before you opened your mouth to respond, Hugo asked curiously a question. "Mentioning the children, what's going on with them? Isn't our princesa too quiet at the moment?"
He had got a point. Your tiny precious wasn't a silent child. Naturally, though, but you also couldn't hear the elder precious talking. That was not typical of them when they played a game. You would always hear their voices. You firstly thought that they went to the playground without saying anything, but Hugo Jr wasn't that stupid to do that. He would ask you and his father about anything that had to do with his sister. So you decided to go upstairs and check it out, only to catch them in a heart-melting moment. Your beloved kids had fallen asleep in the bed and the little sweetheart, covered with little Hugo's jacket, was laying on the elder brother's chest, whose hands were placed on her head and her back, making her feel safe and you tear out of joy. That's how you would feel when your husband was holding you like that, but this is a different story.
"What's happening, love? Are they alright?" Hugo shouted at you from downstairs. "Be quiet and come here!" you told him with a wave of your hand. He quickly headed where you were and got beautifully shocked with what he saw. That moment melted his heart as the way Hugo Jr was holding his sister reminded him of the way he used to hold his son about twenty years ago. He slowly walked inside the bedroom to have a better look at his children and sat on the bed, admiring them with teared eyes. "Goodnight, my angels. I love you. More than you can imagine. And I will always make sure that you two are safe and no one will hurt you. No one." he whispered to them softly and kissed the princess's head and little Hugo's forehead, while you were observing them with a smile on your face.

You did everything right, Peña. But now you’re all alone. Everything. Alone. Carrillo was long dead. Murphy was gone. And now Martinez was gone, too. Javier didn’t want to call you, to fuck you up with his problems. You deserved more than that. Than him.
He was trying to get better, he really was - for you as much as himself. But old habits die hard and the taste of smoke was familiar.
So he drank.
----------
“Javi?” Your voice carried over through the telephone, crumbling static. He didn’t really know why he picked up the phone, head still sloshing a leftover ache from the whiskey that never got put back in the cabinet. He just wanted to hear your voice, imagine what you looked like on the other end of the line. You hadn’t been able to see each other much the past few weeks, stolen kisses in doorways and quiet evenings in your apartment doing little to sate his longing.
It was strange, the way you appeared. Crept up on him as some beautiful, musical thing that he didn’t want to scare away with his footsteps the weight of concrete. It’d only been a month but he found himself making room for you, the little cracks left on his skin filled back in by a golden ichor that tasted like syrup and whistled when it rolled down his cheek.
You never really said you were dating. Were you dating? He’d like to think so. He wasn’t seeing anyone else, that was for damn sure.
“Javi, are we still on for dinner?”
Dinner. Shit.
He wiped a hand over his face, trying to smooth out the hitch in his words. “I’m sorry, baby. It’s been a long day.” He could almost see you on the back of his closed eyelids, sitting cross-legged on that tacky chintz armchair in your living room, one slow finger tracing the curl of your telephone cord. You had mentioned something about wanting him to meet your friends, other teachers at the school (one of whom was your roommate) who had no doubt heard every detail of your budding relationship. It was sweet, though. He liked that you had friends.
“Oh,” you breathed, trying not to sound disappointed. “Are you alright?”
Javier nodded instinctively before he realized you couldn’t see. “Yeah, yeah I’m good. Just tired.”
You snorted - a loud, unladylike sound that made his lips quirk up just a bit. “For someone who’s supposed to be DEA you aren’t very good at lying.” God, he would do anything for you. Did you know that? Did you know how the songs you played looped in his head for hours? How he tried to memorize every single one of your eyelashes when you smiled? How when he was around you, sometimes he couldn’t breathe? Did you know that?
He heard shuffling on the other end of the line. “I’ll tell them to go without us,” you said, nothing vitriolic tainting your voice. Work was never really a topic of conversation between the two of you. His work, anyways. It took up enough of his life without you having to be involved. You never pressed him about it. “Come over if you want, okay?”
The couch creaked as Javier sat up. “Okay.”
---------
“Ah, and the prodigal son returns!” you called out with a laugh as your apartment door opened, not looking up from your tiny kitchen stove. An apron was tied around your waist, some ridiculous, polka-dotted thing that looked straight out of the 50s. You turned when the lock clicked, watching as he slipped off his shoes. He made the mistake of not doing that the first time he came here and he didn’t hear the end of it for hours. No shoes on in the Palace.
The Palace, he remembered with a snort. Your name for the apartment was somehow the least strange thing about it. Loose papers covered your coffee, stacked high with books and baubles and tiny market trinkets. Every available surface was covered in gauzy scarves or knit blankets, absolutely none of them matching but still managing to feel right - even next to the weird decorative wall hangings in languages he’d never even heard of. And of course, the sheet music.
Javier wasn’t entirely sure what system of organization you had - if you had one at all. He was pretty sure you used coffee mugs as paperweights, but you seemed to always find what you needed so he didn’t say anything. It was a nice contrast to his own apartment, barely lived-in and sterile. Just a place to keep his socks and shoes before he left again. He could tell you loved your place, though. You made it a home.
“What do you think?” you gestured to the apron with a dramatic spin, the wooden spoon in your hand coming dangerously close to his nose. Javier reached to stop you before you hit him in the face, a calloused thumb pressing into the flesh of your palm.
He looked down, trying to conceal a grimace when he noticed the bright yellow ruffles. “It’s…”
“Absolutely atrocious, right?” you said, gleeful. “I love it!”
Trying to change the subject, Javier stepped closer and looked to the pot on the stove. “What are you making?”
“Mac n’ cheese,” you answered, smiling when his hands came to rest at your waist. He nosed his face into the curve of your jaw, mouthing an open kiss to the skin below your ear. You smelled like cinnamon. “Hey,” you tapped him with the end of the spoon, attempting to be stern. “You’re not supposed to distract the cook.”
“Really, now?” he asked, his hands wandering lower.
“It’s very serious business Javi.” He hummed in agreement, his lips still pressed to your neck. “Grounds for expulsion, one could say.”
“Expulsion?” Javier laughed when you yelped as he pulled your back into his chest. “What, am I your student?”
“Oh yes,” you snorted, mocking half-hooded eyelids and dropping your voice an octave. “And you’ve been very ba-”
Your words were cut off by a squeak when he bit the shell of your ear, chuckling warm chocolate in a way that made your stomach flutter. “You’re horrible at roleplaying,” you pouted as his fingertips dragged across the sides of your ribs. “I was supposed to seduce you with my scholarly discipline.”
“You’re wearing a bright pink apron and pajama pants.”
“And I happen to look very chic, thank you. If you want my food, you’ll have to learn some respe-” His lips met yours, deep and melting soft as the spoon clattered to the floor. Your fingers came to thread through the hair at the nape of his neck, everything forgotten except for the way he tasted like whiskey and something else heady, overpowering and enveloping until you grew lightheaded.
“Am I forgiven?” he mumbled against your lips. You cocked your head, faking consideration.
“Maybe, if you kiss me again, I’ll think about it.”
His voice vibrated against your back, soft and low. “I’ll have to do that then, won’t I?”
You smiled. “Yes, yes you will.”

Visiting an Old Friend
Javier Peña x Horacio Carrillo
The first time he goes, it's after his first day back at the Embassy.  He sits in silence propped up against white marble, and prays. He lost his faith ages ago in a dark alley in Medellin, but prayer is a habit that dies hard. Please let me get it right this time. Please let me not screw this up. Help me do the right thing. Help me do right by you. Give me the strength to fight the good fight and maybe regain a little bit of the soul I sold to get Escobar. I know how much you love your country. Help me pay you back for everything you did for me.
He tells his father he still prays. He never says he prays to God.
-
The second time he goes, he sees that there are already visitors. A familiar woman with bright red hair. Two children, a teenage boy and a younger girl. A memory sparks in his brain. "Eso lo tengo que cargar yo sobre mis hombros."
He doesn't stop. He keeps walking, feeling the familiar weight of guilt settle on his shoulders.
-
The third time, he goes because Hugo Martinez clapped him on the back. It sounds stupid. Maybe it is stupid. But it feels so wrong, so alien to call another man 'colonel'. To plan and work and celebrate with someone who doesn't know him inside and out. Hugo is a good man, probably the better man if he's going to be honest with himself. But Hugo isn't the right man.
I miss you. He thinks. I miss you so much and I'm trying to do this right for you. I don't think I am. I don't think you would've been happy with the way things went today. You never believed that prison was a win. I don't think you would be proud of me, but I want you to be. Wherever you are, I hope you know how hard I'm trying. I hope you know that I want to make things right.
-
There's a fourth time. A fifth. A sixth.
It becomes a ritual of sorts.
He goes. He sits. He prays. He thinks about life and paperwork and strategies and informants. He makes plans and imagines the advice he might get.
Good days and bad ones, small victories and crushing defeats, he lays them all at the only altar he knows.
-
The eleventh time, Feistl follows him.  He knows from the beginning, because Feistl isn't good at being inconspicuous. He pretends not to notice anyway. It's funny. If only Feistl knew he was going to visit the original incorruptible man.
He leans against the stone and thinks, I wonder what you'd think of Feistl and Van Ness. At least they speak Spanish. Would that matter to you? Would you have pushed them aside, like you did Murphy? Was I just special?
That's a stupid question. He knows he was special. It may have never been something they talked about, but he always knew.
You know, Steve is back in Miami, cleaning up the streets. Not that I think it's working. How can it work when the cartels are still here? I'm starting to think this is all hopeless, and we wasted our lives on nothing.
In his mind, he talks about his day. His doubts. The tiny part of him that clings to hope. How much it hurts to watch the spark of belief slowly go out of Feistl's and Van Ness's eyes. How he has dreaded this day-- when one of them would finally break and follow him, because they don't fully trust him anymore.
No matter what, you never gave up on me. I hope you know how much it means, that you trusted me to the end. I hope you know how much I hate myself for not being worthy of your faith in me.
When he starts to think he might cry if he stays any longer, he gets up. As he passes the spot where Feistl is so obviously hiding, he asks, "You comin'?"
Feistl follows in silence.
"I come here to think," he tells Feistl, "When I need to be somewhere quiet but don't want to be alone."
"You were alone, boss," Feistl points out.
He looks over his shoulder to where the familiar white stone is still just visible. "No. I wasn't."
Neither of them says another word. Feistl never follows him again.
-
The last time, he knows it's all over. He leans against the familiar stone and weeps. For over two years, he hasn't let himself cry over Horacio. He's spent so long hating himself and blaming himself for what happened that he hasn't allowed himself to just grieve.
Now, though, he can. Now he realizes just how stacked against him the odds have always been. Now he realizes that there is no redemption, no hope, no answer. There is no way to right these wrongs because they are so deeply embedded into his flesh. The war will never be won, because no one really wants to win it. No one ever did.
Except Horacio. He wanted to win--take no prisoners, give no quarter. He died fighting. Defiant. He knows, because he heard it on the radio. He knows, because he loved Horacio more than anything.
"Voy a dejar," Javier says aloud. The first words he's spoken to Horacio in two years. "Voy a dejar." Saying it makes it real.
"Pero primero... Colombia sabrá la verdad."
He thinks that maybe he should say 'I love you.' But Horacio knows. He always knew. He thinks that he should apologize, but for the first time he feels certain that Horacio didn't go to his death blaming Javier for it.
He stands up, one last time, and reads the stone. 'Horacio Carrillo'. Javi's whole world, written down in fifteen letters.
When he turns to leave now, he knows he will never come back to this place. He knows a part of him will never leave it.

Boa  in the latest issue of Kicker 31 may 2019
"I was already gone in my head. When you get a clear promise and an adequate fee is paid then suddenly it's rejected, something breaks down in you"
"My first half of the season was not good. Then I was able to turn myself upside down and play well, but I was benched anyway. The justifications given to me by the coach left me with the question: Why am I the one who had to be left out?"
"I will attack again in the new season. At Bayern? I clearly imagine that I can continue at Bayern. I'm not going to run away, situations change quickly"
" I told Jupp Heynckes: I won ten titles with Bayern, I know the processes inside out, I needed a new impulse. I like being here, I love Munich, it was a great time, but I know when I have to go and that's what you would have to grant a player after so many years here"
"I know what I can do. When I have a club and a coach that gives me confidence, I know how to play"
"I'm a footballer, if you don't play a role, it hurts. I respect my teammates but I cannot pretend. I can't laugh around and pretend that I'm happy. And I know that when it mattered in the past years, I was always there in big games"
The season 2018/19 at Bayern is now over for him, but basically four weeks already: On May 4, against Hannover, Jerome Boateng was allowed to play for the last time. The remaining three games were followed by the central defender on the bench. "Of course I can not say that this season is good for me. I've lost a lot this year, my place in the national team and at Bayern, "says Boateng. "It was a negative year for both sides, for the club and for me." It's an unvarnished honest record.
This season began under obstructive circumstances. He said "in the summer of 2018, not in vain internally, that I absolutely wanted to leave" and got the assurance that he would be released from his contract until 2021, "if the right club comes and the money is right". These two conditions saw Boateng satisfied when Paris Saint-Germain wanted to sign him. But then the FCB officials refused. Three days before the transfer in late August 2018, Boateng learned "that they suddenly said no and I was not allowed to leave."
So he sought direct contact with the leadership - CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and coach Niko Kovac sat at the table - and said: "Please, let me go! I have to go. I need a new challenge. "The position of the club sounded that way, Boateng says:" They said the coach really wants to hold you; for him you are number one in defense. "Rummenigge then repeated several times that he could not release Boateng under these circumstances. Boateng thanked "for the appreciation", but made clear: "I want to go anyway. Absolutely. "The answer:" No. Even if It's hard for you, you have to accept it so."
Boateng had already basically felt" that the club was no longer to me ". Because Rummenigge had put the 2014 World Champion in the showcase just before the 2018 World Cup with the words: "If a club comes and Jerome announces that he wants to change to this club, we will deal with it." Paris had now offered a transfer, the including bonuses would have added to 40 million euros. But the no remained.
"That was hard to work with," says Boateng today. "I was already gone with my head. If you get such a safe pledge and an adequate sum is paid, but suddenly it's called no, something collapses in you. So, without further ado, that did not leave me without a trace. "However, this abrupt change in the situation did not affect his general attitude to football and his job.
The relationship with the new coach Kovac, he found initially "all right, just like the other players". And he admits: "Sure, we had a bad phase in the fall, and I played badly," for example, when 3: 3 against Dusseldorf. So it came in those weeks to exchange with Kovac, "my first round was not good". During Christmas holidays, the defender telephoned the head coach and assured him that he had finally come to terms with the refusal to change clubs, "that I was fully focused and after the winter break totally wanted to fight for my place in the team". The Trainer's Response: In the winter training camp in Qatar, "everyone starts at zero".
There, Boateng notes, "I trained at top level". In the public training sessions, he was usually part of the A-Elf, Mats Hummels to the B-group. So Boateng "decided that I would start against Hoffenheim". But for the second half of the season, he was only substituted in the 90th minute for Javi Martinez. "I could not understand, I was angry, especially because of the statements of the coach, I would have trained super, he liked that, aggressive, I was headed, et cetera."
On top of that Kovac had announced shortly before the kick-off in Hoffenheim, Süle was Munich's center-back number 1, Boateng and Hummels would have to "match" behind her place. Boateng asked the coach about the background for this statement and learned: "He said that was a mistake."
Boateng locates the beginnings of this development in the second half already in the middle of December 2018, when he played against Nuremberg (kicker -Note 2.5) in Hannover suddenly had to experience 90 minutes as a substitute. "Since then, I felt I had no chance, because I could stand on my head and play well, I was still out in certain games," he says in a quiet tone. "It was very frustrating for me because I had worked hard." He supplemented the daily work with the team with an individual program: yoga, fitness, physio "to get me fit".
The appearance or accusation that he was too distracted from his profession as a professional footballer, he states objectively-determined: "All these side things, the glasses, the magazine, the party after the match against Dortmund - I do not have to do anything . "Boateng asks and says," What do I have to do for it? It is always put in such a way that I would have to travel through the world for it and would have any appointments or obligations for six hours. "Other players would also have photo shoots for PR purposes," why is this never discussed? "Jewelry, glasses, earrings "I've been wearing it since I'm with Bayern". So he became Triple Winner 2013 and World Champion 2014.
For his eyewear collection, he says, "every three or four months I spend an hour coming to develop the designs", on location in Munich. "Then there is a shoot for two hours, also in Munich, also every three or four months." For his magazine BOA he does "nothing, except a shoot over an hour or two, also in Munich, all three, four months ".
But did this boa party have to be the PR for the second edition of his lifestyle magazine in the Munich Nobel Club P1, right after the possibly decisive hit against Dortmund? And how inappropriate would this party have been in a defeat? "Then I would have turned up there from 11 pm to midnight because of the sponsors and then home," replies Boateng. "We have clearly communicated that to Bayern." In addition, the FCB makers knew what sponsors expected from a partner. "I had to be there for them." And no concerns were expressed to him by the club. "We could have discussed it and made a statement to the outside." Six, eight weeks before the BVB game, this party was planned.
Before Thomas Muller headed for P 1 that night, he said on social media, "Boa, do not let it get you down! Are a horny guy. "Hummels, Ribery, Lewandowski, Gnabry, Alaba, Tolisso came, allegedly twelve players. "If we had lost, nobody would have come," says Boateng. "But none of us thought that we would lose." The Bayern won 5-0, Boateng sat 90 minutes on the bench.
And are not there - another reproach - his constant short trips to Berlin? "Only if we had no English week and were free, I flew to Berlin," countered Boateng. "But it was always said: Jerome is in Berlin." For other players who also travel by air on days off, there was this topic not: David Alaba jettete known to often to Vienna, Javi Martinez to Spain, Franck Ribery to Paris. Boateng may not understand this different rating, "but that just fits in".
Where so far his deep tone remained the same, Boateng is now emotional and says louder: "I'm a footballer. I'm still burning. I'm hot. But I was slowed down because I was unfairly not used for me, as I deserved it. "Okay, he admits, football is never fair," but I feel like I'm upside down everything was set in stone since December ".
The second half-series began for him with a three-week delay, at home against Schalke, on 9 February. Before the match in Leverkusen, the third in the second half, in early February, Boateng had a one-hour conversation with coach Kovac. Again, he received praise for his good training performance - but sat outside again. But in the upcoming English weeks, the coach has promised him, "you're immediately on hand, if one does not bring his performance, because you deserve it, you train great". Four days later, in the cup at Hertha BSC, he still remained 120 minutes substitute. In the next league match against Schalke Boateng defended next to Hummels "neat", as he judges - the kicker rating 3.5 supports his self-assessment. On the next matchday in Augsburg he had to watch again for 90 minutes and today asks: "But on what grounds?" Two weeks later Kovac had told him that he would not change a victorious team. "Why am I the one who has to go out?"
Boateng takes a deep breath. "It was hard for me to accept that I was not used regularly and was only allowed to play when the coach just needed me." He leads the cup semi-final in Bremen, where he was stable (kicker note 3 ). "After that, I had to get out again", in Nuremberg, "and without explanation." Boateng emphasizes: "I'm the last person who can't take criticism when someone is better".
In the Hinserie, "I also told the coach, I had no problem with him taking me out." But in the second half he sees no reason for his supporting role "because of the training and the games". Kovac even indirectly confirmed it recently when he said to him, "You have not played that much, even though you may be the best defender." Boateng replied to Kovac, "How am I supposed to take that statement? You do not set me up, why ever. "The two are talking.
The 76-time international, early in March by coach Joachim Loew from the DFB selection retired, but would like to blame for the unsuccessful season 2018/19 not alone looking at others. He gives himself self-critical. "I let myself be pulled down too much by the whole situation," he says. But does not a World Champion and Footballer of the Year for which he was elected in 2016 have to defend himself against such attacks? "Sure, I know what I can do," he says, "but at the touch of a button I can not say, now I'm laughing again, it's all peace, joy, pancakes again. I am not. "He reclaims for himself original human feelings and reactions. "It was about my personal happiness, I just had to go."
In 2018, he repeated what he had experienced at the age of 18. At that time he felt that he had to get out of Berlin, "from this comfort zone, where everyone knocked on my shoulders." So it was again: "I needed a new challenge. I know how I am. Here I fall asleep, I told Jupp Heynckes, when he asked me a year ago what I would like to do. "The former Bayern coach understood, but wanted to know the reason. "I've won ten titles with Bayern, know the processes inside out," Boateng told him. "I needed a new impulse." To avoid giving the wrong impression, Boateng hastily emphasizes: "I like being here, I love it Munich. They were great times. But I know when to go. And that would have to have been granted to a player after so many successful years. "
How does it go from here? President Uli Hoeness described the professional with the jersey number 17 last Sunday as a "foreign body". Boateng names as counterargument Niklas Süle. To his immediate opponent in the defense he has "a super wire because the boy is absolutely okay". In the cabin, Boateng addresses things directly to everyone, including the superiors. "Because I want to be successful." In the summer preparation 2018, in the training camp, pleaded the two captains Manuel Neuer and Müller internally that Boateng should necessarily remain. And yet: Was his behavior at the celebrations and the cup win not unquestionable?
At the master celebration in the stadium he kicked off with his two daughters, afterwards he went to a friend's wedding, not the team party. "I'm a footballer," he says. And explains his point of view: "If you do not play a role, it hurts you. I respectfully respect my fellow players. But I can not pretend, do not laugh and pretend I'm so happy. And I know: If it was important in the last few years, I was always there in the big games. "An exception he leads immediately and without asking: The 2: 5-clap in the Cup final against Dortmund in May 2012," the is years ago ", kicker rating: 5.5. "Otherwise, I was always one of the players in the crucial games to stand out." In the 2014 World Cup final kicker made him the player of the game, grade 1.
And yet again the question: Does a team athlete not attend a club or team event? "It was not the last season game, there was still the double celebration on Marienplatz," says Boateng. "And when one of my friends marries, I go to the wedding. It had nothing to do with my mood. Even if I had played, I would be at the wedding. "He serves examples of his identification with Bayern. For the club, he had shortened his vacation, came to New York, did PR shoots for Audi and opened with Rummenigge the stock market. "I was the driving force, I did everything for Bayern."
In contrast, he felt at his shoulder injury in 2016/17 by the club not supported at all. The usual during an operation accompanying an FCB doctor was missing, afterwards there were no visits club official in the hospital or asking for his health. And he was never informed about his removal from the players' council this season: Suddenly Lewandowski was third captain, even Thiago got in a friendly match the captain's bandage - before Boateng.
A first crack suffered on 1 July 2011 started, long perfect relationship FCB-Boateng in November 2016. The Munich lost in Rostov in the Champions League with 2: 3, Boateng was danced in the first goal, before the second he committed a foul , Penalty, 1: 2-residue (49th). He was injured ten minutes later. Boateng would have to come back more "back to earth", so on the ground, said Rummenigge back then in the icy-cold Russia night. Boateng considers such public criticism as a breach of trust, especially because he had a few days earlier in a personal conversation with the CEO pointed to some athletic maladies and Rummenigge had criticized him in private, not in the approach. Boateng did not feel protected by the board boss. The sequel followed before the now ended season and immediately afterwards with Hoeness' public recommendation to change. Of course, Boateng is still ready to do that.
But the future employer must fit. "I have very clear sporting expectations and goals," says Boateng emphatically. He rejects a transfer to China or the USA with a decided no. He said it was about the personal esteem in a new club, he emphasizes: "I would like to prove once again my class after the disappointments of this season and show that I belong to the three top center-backs in the world. I know what I can do. And if I have a club and a coach that gives me confidence, I know how I play. "Despite the recent development, however, Boateng can" clearly imagine that it can continue at Bayern ". He asks: "Why not?" And answers: "I'm a footballer, Bayern is a big club." He also had to take into account that his children go to school in Munich. "I will not run away here for sure. Situations change quickly. "
Once again he clarifies:" I do not want to end my career, on the contrary. "He wanted" one hundred percent success as a footballer. Just after having been slowed down so much this season, I want to show that I am still fully occupied. I'm going to attack fully in the next season. "
After this season 2018/19, which at least spared him major physical injuries, he feels ready for new exploits. "Jerome has not finished yet and still has huge potential for the next three years," says Jupp Heynckes. In the triple year 2012/13, "he shot into the world class," said Boateng's former coach in Munich, "at the 2014 World Cup, he was the best center-back in the world." Boateng is "an easy to run player who needs trust and understanding "Heynckes says," working with him was a pleasure ". Peter Hermann, who saw Boateng as an assistant coach in Munich in daily operations, adds: "Nobody plays out from the back like Jerome does. He has to be fit, then he can play for a few more years at top level - if he wants it. "Boateng wants. He says. Determined.
On vacation, he will - as usually in the past years - go through a private preparation. For this he sets his own fitness trainer and physiotherapist on his own account. "For the five-week vacation, I have a well-planned plan," he says. The exercises are designed specifically for him. For the last 14 days of this individual work "full throttle" is programmed. Boateng wants to start "prepaired" in preparation for 2019/20.

Nationals reliever Roenis Elías has a ‘tweaked’ hamstring, still being evaluated
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Nationals GM Mike Rizzo stated the hamstring damage to new reliever Roenis Elías does not “look to be critical.” (John McDonnell/The Washington Publish) PHOENIX — Reliever Roenis Elías has a tweaked hamstring, Washington Nationals Normal Supervisor Mike Rizzo stated, and his short-term standing remained unsure Saturday at Chase Subject. Elías injured his hamstring Friday, within the Nationals’ Three-Zero win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, when he got here up limping after grounding out to first base. Elías, a left-handed reliever acquired by the Nationals earlier than Wednesday’s commerce deadline, had simply six prior at-bats in his profession. He was on the plate as a result of Supervisor Dave Martinez wished him to face the leadoff hitter within the subsequent inning, and a quick bench dissuaded Martinez from double-switching him into a completely different lineup spot. However right here was the catch: Martinez advised Elías to not swing. He did anyway, bouncing a ball over the mound, and damage himself making an attempt to leg out an infield single. After the sport, Martinez advised reporters Elías was being handled for a cramp. Martinez maintained that Saturday, earlier than Rizzo addressed the damage, and the supervisor added that Elías had but to bear an MRI examination. Elías spoke at his locker and talked about each pulling his hamstring and simply having a cramp. [Joe Ross makes a most convincing case to be the Nats’ fifth starter] Then Rizzo confirmed that his hamstring is the problem. Elías was added to the 25-man roster Friday and will head to the injured checklist if the Nationals imagine he’ll miss any period of time. They hope to have an MRI studying by the top of Saturday’s recreation or early Sunday. The group departs for a sequence in San Francisco after Sunday’s recreation. “No, I simply obtained right here,” Rizzo stated when requested Saturday afternoon whether or not he had a definitive replace on Elías. “He tweaked his hamstring. Oftentimes these issues that really feel like a cramp early on linger into one thing a little extra important, but it surely doesn’t look to be critical. However we’re unsure the place he’s at so far as . . . you recognize, we don’t wish to be shorthanded for 9 or 10 days. We’ll see. Nevertheless it doesn’t imply to be an excessive amount of past that type of a thought course of.” That hinted at Rizzo’s logic shifting ahead: He doesn’t imagine, no less than publicly, that Elías’s hamstring tweak would require greater than the minimal 10 days on the injured checklist. But when Elías is to overlook a handful of video games, he’ll wish to name up one other arm in his place. The Nationals’ present choices on the 40-man roster are restricted, and so they don’t have one other lefty reliever to plug in for Elías. [Jeremy Hellickson the forgotten man as Nats hunt for a fifth starter] The three wholesome relievers on their 40-man roster, and never already within the majors, are Kyle Barraclough, James Bourque and Kyle McGowin, who’s at the moment beginning video games for the Class AA Harrisburg Senators. Additionally they have an open 40-man roster spot after designating Tony Sipp for project on Friday, and will probably use that to make an addition. The Nationals DFA’d Sipp to make room for his or her three new relievers, placing the 36-year-old lefty in a three-day waiver interval. They DFA’d veterans Javy Guerra, Michael Blazek and Justin Miller earlier within the week, and they’re now all with the Class AAA Fresno Grizzlies after clearing waivers. That’s the majority of inside choices ought to Elías go to the IL, and none of them present the situational lefty Washington traded for in Elias. Rizzo was inspired by the beginning of Elías debut on Friday, when he retired the one two batters he confronted with a fly out and strikeout. The remainder created the type of bullpen problem the GM hoped to keep away from when he added three arms on the deadline. “It’s unlucky,” Rizzo stated Saturday. “It’s arduous to maintain rivals from competing, and a lot of instances instincts take over and sadly he felt one thing. So we’ll see the place that takes us.” LINEUPS Nationals (58-51) Trea Turner, SS Adam Eaton, RF Anthony Rendon, 3B Juan Soto, LF Kurt Suzuki, C Brian Dozier, 2B Gerardo Parra, 1B Victor Robles, CF Stephen Strasburg, P Diamondbacks (54-56) Jarrod Dyson, RF Ketel Marte, CF Eduardo Escobar, 2B David Peralta, LF Christian Walker, 1B Jake Lamb, 3B Nick Ahmed, SS Alex Avila, C Robbie Ray, P Learn extra on the Nationals: Joe Ross makes a most convincing case for Nationals’ fifth starter spot Roenis Elías damage scare overshadows Nationals’ shutout win over Diamondbacks Boswell: Even when the Nationals’ new arms are merely enough, that marks a step up Nationals bolster bullpen at commerce deadline, however division-leading Braves load up, too (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Bundesliga: Boateng at FC Bayern: There's no saviour left
Tumblr media
Jerome Boateng wants a new challenge in his career, FC Bayern Munich does not want to put any obstacles in the way of the international player’s change wishes. However, the list of interested parties has now shrunk to one club: PSG. There’s still time in poker for a transfer. In view of the destroyed relationship, it is almost a duty to achieve this.
Shop window is not the right term in the Jerome Boateng case. FC Bayern has not only put it in the shop window over the last few weeks. Rather, the record master’s approach to Boateng was similar to that of a market screamer. In times of daily denial, the people of Munich made it more than clear that they could very well make friends with Boateng’s departure.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge already trumpeted this in June. At that time Boateng reacted irritated (“I don’t know why these statements were made”). But the chairman of the board repeated his statements mantra-like.
Boateng remained silent. What can he say? The responsible persons of the Bavarians do the talking for him.
Hasan Salihamidzic continued the Rummenigge speech. On Sunday Uli Hoeneß Tacheles also spoke: “We said that if he finds a club, we will deal with it,” he said at Sky.
Meanwhile, the president added, “only Paris” is an option as a customer. FC Bayern could compensate for a possible sporting loss of Boateng: “We believe that Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels and Javi Martinez are equally good players. If the player wants to get away and we can get money, then we deal with it. The odds are 50:50.”
Some people in Munich would obviously prefer 50 percent over the other 50. So Hoeneß said: “If Paris doesn’t pay accordingly, then he stays and everything is okay.” Doesn’t sound like the solution you want.
The situation between Boateng and the management of the club has melted and can no longer be saved.
It may be that Boateng’s advisor Christian Nerlinger informed the club leadership of his change request. However, the fact that the bosses take this as an opportunity to offer it so offensively in public is not the most respectful way of dealing with it.
FC Bayern is not fighting for Boateng. A well-deserved player who won a total of 16 red jersey titles, is on the team council and is still one of the best central defenders in the world when fit. Instead, the PSG are calling publicly for a good offer, so to speak, and then it will work out.
They’re deconstructing Boateg’s status in Munich. If a transfer were to be broken, its whereabouts would have at least a strange aftertaste. For this reason alone, Boateng can hardly stay from his own point of view, especially as he tends to strive for an upgrading of his status.
Hoeneß, Rummenigge and Salihamidzic act curiously against the will of the team. Spokesmen such as Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Thomas Müller or Manuel Neuer all demanded Boateng’s whereabouts. The almost congruent statements included sentences such as: “He is very important to us”, “He is one of the best central defenders in the world” and “I hope he will stay”.
Coach Niko Kovac was not quite so offensive. But he emphasised that he needed “three world-class centre-back players” like Boateng, Hummels and Süle. And that he therefore “status today” assumes that it will remain. In the cup he bet against Drochtersen/Assel. With his presence, anticipation and ball distribution, Boateng showed how important he can be.
The situation of the world-class defender is all the more bizarre. He can imagine a change, Bavaria too, but nothing is happening (yet). Surprisingly, after all, a player of this quality should be free to choose his employer and not hover in an intermediate state.
However, the situation is not quite that uncomplicated. Because Boateng was repeatedly thrown back by injuries, he seldom started rolling over a longer period of time. In the last three seasons Boateng played 19 (2015/2016), 13 (2016/2017) and 19 (2017/2018) matches in the Bundesliga. That’s not much for a player with a price tag of about 50 million euros. The lack of permanent fitness also ensured that Boateng showed some mixed performances.
His World Cup was also mixed. In the first game against Mexico in a defensive alliance, like his teammates, he was overwhelmed, in the second against Sweden after an overmotivated action. Tournament over. Sure, that can happen and Boateng was not the only one in the DFB team without form. But he didn’t fire a hype with it.
Moreover, the market for Boateng is not the largest anyway. With his claim he wants to become a club that plays for titles. In other words: the Champions League. He wants to avoid a clear sporting descent. That’s why he canceled Manchester United. So only five or six clubs were considered. There are not many places, after all the Creme de la Creme kicks there.
The list of potential customers for Boateng has evaporated into one club: PSG. Thomas Tuchel knows Boateng from the Bundesliga very well and appreciates his qualities. Boateng himself could fit Tuchel’s style as a Guardiola disciple, the city of Paris and the ambitions of the club would be predestined for him. A back-to-arth debate would not expect him there.
Since the 37 million euro transfer of Thilo Kehrer at the latest, PSG must be careful with transfers. Keyword: financial fair play. Another €50 million deal is not so easy to make.
Nevertheless, the topic is not off the table for a long time. The latest 50:50 statements by Hoeneß do not indicate this. More like poker. Demand and offer must meet.
And: Whether the Bavarians really want to start the new season with only two central defenders, when Martinez are firmly in midfield, Alaba left and Kimmich right in the four-man team is doubtful. It was not for nothing that Kovac said that he assumed that something could still be done in the event of a Boateng departure.
It is quite possible that a deal with Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart will play a role in Personalie Boateng. Allegedly, a change in summer 2019 is a done deal. However, if the Bavarians were to significantly increase the offer for the world champion again, he could possibly come immediately.
So far there has been no bang on the transfer market at FC Bayern this summer. But the window is still open. And the shop window lights up. Or rather: the market stall built up.

Ghana's Thomas Partey, the all-terrain SUV
When Diego Simeone asked Thomas Partey to come onto the pitch to try and rescue the result against Eibar, nobody, not even himself, could have imagined that it would be the Ghanaian who would score the winning goal, with the midfielder proving himself to be an invaluable tool for all situations for Atletico Madrid. He has two goals thus far this season, with his latest coming in the Champions League against Lokomotiv Moscow, and he has been a sensation this season. We're starting to see a midfielder that Simeone daren't not drop from the starting XI, he is so technically gifted and so powerful that he nicely complements Koke and Saul Niguez, and if he is adding goals to his game now as well, Atletico's midfield is set for a long time.In the Spanish league only Casemiro has scored as many goals as Thomas this season, and he is outperforming other great holding midfield players, Javi Martinez and Idrissa Gueye who have yet to score at all this campaign.EnglandEven in the Premier League, Thomas' numbers are strong with none of Fernandinho, James Milner, N'Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic or Lucas Torreira having managed to score as many goals... source: https://footballghana.com/
