@belladonna-rx I mean in Petoskey, fairly easily although many tourists come through and pick some on their own. I haven't looked many other places for them, but they're common to find in other areas of the lake!

I've only been to Petoskey once (I live in Michigan) but I found 4-5 in probably maybe 1-2 hours? I don't remember how long I was on the shore. I'll take some pics when I find them in my boxes from moving!

I'm wanting to go to a different section of lake Michigan and rockhound there some, maybe I'll find some on the southeast coast (where I'm closest)

Cocky Serana Time? Cocky Serana Time

I actually debated whether or not I should participate in WIP Wednesday this week . . . but I caved. And while I do have a very nice 'heeheehoohoo' Virana scene, maybe that can be something I share here next week if I'm still picking away at my currently very hated chapter. I love the idea that Serana takes the most pride in her necromancy prowess and got the idea to showcase it here because, while she's lovingly resurrecting every two seconds in my game, she hasn't done so as much in my fanfiction. And I had to remedy that immediately, so. Hope you enjoy. ❤

The elf walked past. Serana silently stalked after him, fangs dug into her lip. She crept closer to him with every step, his words reduced to soft, careless whistles that echoed off the walls, unaware of the vampire that carefully stood up and lifted her razor—

Serana plunged the blade of her dagger deep into his back, just to the left of his spine. She twisted, then ripped it out; blood gushed from the gaping wound. He turned with a suffocating gasp as the torch clattered to the floor; his eyes lingered on her just long enough for her to witness the last whispers of life fade from his gaze.

Just before his knees buckled beneath his dead weight, Serana extended out her cold hand and cast a spell. The violet and indigo-tinged wisp spiralled from her fingertips and struck the Altmer’s body—it immediately became stiff and rigid. Shades of nightshade stained his vacant eyes, his soul tethered, chained, anchored to the once empty host against its will. She curled her fingers in as she dropped her hand; the zombie relaxed instantly, his head bowed in obedience. A smirk of pride stretched her pale lips.

“What the fuck was the point of this again?”

Serana folded her arms and turned, only to find Vigdis already beside her with a glare.

“This,” she began, “is going to make it a lot easier to sneak around. He’ll be able to tell me when there’s trouble—and his friends won’t even notice that he’s actually dead.”

With a simple wave of her hand, the corpse retrieved his torch and resumed his natural stance from before. The puppet’s invisible strings hung loosely from her fingers, his calm façade a sign that there were currently no other Thalmor agents nearby.

“This is fucking stupid,” the hunter muttered pessimistically.

“I don’t suppose you have a better idea?” Serana questioned, a fiery and challenging edge in her voice. When the redhead only narrowed her icy eyes and huffed defeatedly in response, Serana quirked her dark brow, smug. “I didn’t think so.”

“Personally I think it’s impressive,” Wynn piped up. “I’ve never seen someone perform necromancy so flawlessly before.”

The vampire grinned slightly, then shrugged. “It’s a simple trick, really. Child’s play.”

“Ooo, cocky!” The thief smirked, a flirtatious glint in her jaspilite eyes. “I like it.”

Despite his charismatic disposition, Dalmatian Jasper is a wimp and is scared of so much, particularly gem things, which he's very unfamiliar with.

Despite his literal position as a guardian of the Diamonds, Hematite is ALSO a wimp. At least towards human stuff.

Jas actually wandered off from his home in the Beta Kindergarten, which is why he knows hardly anything of the gems. For whatever reason, when he was formed he had no prior understanding of what he was meant to do or why, and with no one around anymore to ask, he - yes very much like amethyst - kinda just left

I didn't intend their story to be in or around the canon SU timeline (it's kinda just its own AU as it is) but if it had to connect, I guess both gems are Era 2, so this is all happening somewhere during the period of time before the Rose Quartz and Crystal Gems deal. (Let's not think about the fact that this means they might have been in the line of fire when earth gems were corrupted)

The only reason they met in the first place is because Hem got lost and his ship crashed in the middle of BFE, Earth, and Jasper was like heyyyyy-

In case you are wondering: both of them are...trans? I guess?? I mean all gems are female by default but Jas is like, kinda just vibing with being a he/him because the humans think he's that. As for Hem, well. The same applies, but only after meeting Jas and discovering the world around them, and himself.

Jaspilite is their most common form of...well, anything. It's a comfort to both of them, in a world so strange. Once they finally come to a point of figuring out they can fuse, they only very rarely find themselves apart.

Jaspilite doesn't go by Jas since that's Dalmatian Jasper's common nickname, and plus he doesn't have many people he knows well enough to give him nicknames. He's just, you know. Jaspilite. Ripped jeans and rock music.

Oh but make no mistake that he's very soft, too. That's kinda Hem's fault mainly. What can I say, they're softies. Jas is there to be their comforting hug.

The way that their gem locations are designed, the two are at either side of the same exact spot in the center of the torso, one in front and one in back. In a way, it's like Romeo and Juliet; you can't shatter one without shattering the other in the process.

Brazil mining watch

Brazilian miner Vale maintained its 2023 iron ore, copper and nickel guidance of 310Mt-320Mt, 335,000t-370,000t and 160,000t-175,000t.

In 2022, Vale's iron ore production fell 1.6% to 307,790Mt, while sales fell 3.8% to 260,663Mt. The fall in production was "mainly due to licensing delays at Serra Norte and jaspilite waste processing and operational performance at S11D," according to a press release.

Eco Mining acquired iron ore exploration rights in Riacho do Moreno, Bahia state, for an undisclosed amount, in this year’s first tender launched by Bahia state company CBPM.

Axia Mineração assumed a copper exploration contract for the Bom Jardim de Goiás project. If it advances, the company wants to invest 100mn reais (US$19.7mn), according to a press release by the mines and energy ministry.

Jaspilite&White Sapphire➡️Zoisite

Yellow: idk

Purple: probably amethyst

Pale round: looks like silica (quartz) that has been melted into glass

Green: green aventurine?

Light green: idk

Dark: smoky quartz?

Big red: not cinnabar, I don't think rhodonite but it could be, my first thought was rhodochrosite & I don't think it is but it could be, maybe some sort of chalcedony/Jasper/agate/quartz, not unakite, I don't think it is alkali feldspar granite, I don't think it is eudialyte, not crocoite, not greenockite, not microlite, I'm pretty sure not realgar nor orpiment, I don't think vanadinite, not zincite. Not red cassiterite tho it is pretty af. Possibly tumbled red corundum but I don't think so, not red sphalerite, not red apatite. It could be red serpentine but I don't think so. Not red scapolite but u should look it up, not red nor orange spinel, not garnet not rose quartz. Again I go back to rhodonite & rhodochrosite. Of course it could be a quartz/chalcedony/agate/Jasper with no common name & just a chemical formula & impurity or smth like that.

(btw Jasper is opaque micro/cryptocrystalline quartz, chalcedony let's some light through, & agate is a striped or banded chalcedony. Except for stuff like moss Agate which is a misnomer BC it has no banding. Also some misnomer "Jaspers" exist that are not silica.)

Yellowish: idk maybe another quartz like citrine or smth

Reddish: carnelian would be my guess

Big white/black: idk

Blue: sodalite, possibly lapis lazuli or lazurite, not blue rutile, possibly some other mineral. My brother guessed sunset sodalite BC he has a character based on it & I'd say it's a great guess.

(another fun fact: the markings on tiger's eye is called striation. Tigers eye is silica (quartz, chalcedony) & crocidolite. You can get tigers eye w/o striation I think, it's called jaspilite.)

Orbleglorb had some great ideas too, esp with the lab grown & dyed stuff.

Wynn was the third child born to an upper class family in Lillandril, who were rich due to their shipbuilding business. As a middle child, she was often overlooked by her parents and overshadowed by her older, more successful siblings. She had a cousin that she often played--and got into trouble--with. At a young age she had a tendency to steal jewellery from extended family members, a habit that she perfected over the years. Eventually, her mother tried to set her up with a high-ranking Thalmor Justicar, and Wynn realised that her previously enjoyed freedom was in jeopardy. In secret, she had a ship built and hired a crew, then took to the seas to become a pirate--and to live the free life she so desired. After many years sailing the ocean, Wynn was caught and jailed in Windhelm. Her first mate rescued her, only to inform her that her ship had been destroyed and her crew had disbanded. Disheartened by this news, Wynn went to Riften in search of refuge. After Wynn worked in Haelga's Bunkhouse for some months, her underhanded thieving had grabbed the attention of Brynjolf after Haelga complained. Now Wynn happily steals on behalf of the Thieves Guild--and gets paid for it, too.

❂ Wynnarwe makes an appearance in my sequel fanfiction, Breathless, in Chapter 6, The Gathering Storm, and Chapter 7, A Delicate Extraction. ❂ Her full name is Wynnarwe Elsinael ‘len Joriael Taena Anaelion ‘ata Sivrien Kaenoril Ranimare ‘cal Camahl-Thramire. ❂ Wynn had a brief love affair with Svana Fair-Shield, which earned her extreme disapproval from Haelga. She was originally blonde, then brunette, then blonde again. She also used to be named Aerwynn. ❂ She had a drink with Sanguine once. Although it was supposed to be A Night to Remember, she doesn't remember much at all--only the headache of a quest that followed. ❂ After Sapphire gifted her with a gem of the same name, Wynnarwe had Madesi craft an earring with it, which she wears all the time.
