it  had  become  somewhat  of  a  routine  ,  ever  since  they  first  ran  into  each  other  in the forest ,  that  maren  would  stop  by  with  a  sweet  dessert  for  the  both  of  them  to  share.  the  bookstore  was  like  stepping  in  to  a  different  world  ,  and  she  could  see  why  jasper  loved  it  so  much.  most  of  the  time  (  always  )  it  would  contain  chocolate  in  all  its  forms.  she  gave  a  quick  nod  to  liam  ,  jasper's  nosey  co-worker  ,  and  waved  to  her  brother  from  across  the  room.  "do  you  have  a  few  moments  ?"  she  asked  gently  ,  holding  up  the  bag  with  rosie's  diner  printed  on  the  side.  "managed  to  snag  a  few  cookies  this  time."

DESPITE THE SIZE OF THE HOUSE IT STILL FELT IMPOSSIBLY STUFFY . he wasn't even sure why he was there , maybe it was because there was a curiosity like staring when you passed an accident . anarchy had never been a gang he thought all that much of and the roses left him with a bitter taste on his tongue . he'd at least managed to find the door to outside sticking a cigarette into his mouth he noticed the other and decided to take it out clearing his throat to get the others attention , " i don't know if YOU realized it but there's a whole party going on inside . " there was mild familiarity to the other but not enough where he could exactly go about wrapping his arm around their shoulders in comradery , fidgeting with the cigarette for a moment he decided to just stick it back into the pocket of his jacket .

for jasper, nothing much has changed, except his clothing sizes. thanks to the gym he's grown quite a bit(think hot sauce era), and he's eating quite a bit more, haha. he's also platinum now in the strands, so he looks a bit different and he's got an undercut. his singing, modeling, and dancing skills have all improved quite a bit. he also auditioned for new kid, new dreams(got it, sort of- yay!) and also has an amazing workshop opportunity. as far as his personal life... well he keeps his cards close to his chest.

Dahlia had been looking forward to celebrating Jasper’s birthday with them for weeks. There hadn’t been a lot of time lately for private singing lessons, especially not since she started working at Re-Chording, but Jasper and his friendship meant something to her and she wanted to dedicate time for them. She walked in step beside Jasper as they walked into the theater. “A jukebox musical? Wait, that sounds so fun!” she grinned, sticking her hands into the pockets of her jean jacket. “I hope you’ll forgive me if I start singing along. I’m assuming that’s not a taboo with this particular show, right?” Dahlia recognized the employees on shift, waving at one of the usher’s directing the crowds towards their seats. It was weird to be back in the theater and purely be a patron this time around. “Juliet without Romeo, though. Honestly, I kinda love that. She deserves her own story. I’m sold.” Their tickets were scanned and they were making their way to their seats when Jasper revealed that they were in a box. “What?? Jas, this is so cool! Have I thanked you enough for picking me to do this with?” She nudged him playfully, clinging to their arm as they walked. “Snacks and space – it’s the royal treatment. Love the way you think.”

it had been planned for weeks, that dahlia and jasper would spend a slither of their birthday together. for the last twenty-six years, his birthday had been a shared affair — it came with being a twin, that cakes were cut in half and parties were populated with two sets of friends. this was something that was all for them. he clutched two tickets in his hand — the community theater was home, for that week, to the touring production of & juliet, and there was nobody else jasper knew that would enjoy it quite as much as dahlia would. “i don't want to spoil it,” they spoke as the two approached the door, “but it's a jukebox musical, so you should know all the songs. i didn't, but then i don't really listen to this sort of music. it's the story of juliet's life after romeo if she never died.” they were ferried through, their tickets checked, funnelled into the foyer with merch tables, programmes, and other excited patrons. “we're sitting in a box,” they spoke excitedly, “so nobody will sit too close . . . we can eat as many snacks as we like.”

MZSD 002 (PART 1)

on the morning of JANUARY 20, ROH KYUHYUN leads the 8 boys to one of the various vary large practice rooms they've been using over the past months. this time however, instead of the usual empty space only filled with mirrors and sound equipment, an area towards the further end of the room has been set up with two L shaped sofas and a mini fridge next to it. opposite those, some basic gym equipments and mats are set up and additional storage space added for the boys to put their bags, coats and personal items in while they are practicing. "welcome to mzsd's personal practice room" kyuhyun announces. "from today on, unless stated otherwise, this space is where you'll practice, film lives and content. maybe catch a nap from time to time too." he gestures for them to sit on the floor and does so himself. "unfortunately, daehyun will not be able to join us today but someone else will drop by at some point. let's get started while they make their way here."

on top of their brand new practice rooms, MZSD's members will have access to their own STUDIOS from now on.

members who are expected to participate the most in producing music have been given their own studios, while those still in the process of learning have been paired with members who focus less on producing at the moment. should the other members' interests change, this arrangement could change. additionally, HWANG MINKI has been given keys to access the smaller DANCE STUDIOS to work on choreographies and dance.

in early FEBRUARY, the USGEN CAFE will have its grand opening. this cafe will be situated one floor above the labels' and accessible for all employees and guests of LGC ENTERTAINMENT. the cafe was created with the sole purpose of providing somewhere people reduce their stress level at. and what better way to do so than around CATS. while enjoying their drinks of choice, customers will be able to pet and play with the residents and even buy their favorite treats from the menu. during the last week of january, the MZSD members will be visiting their shelter of choice to each choose a cat! the cafe will have a total of 12 cats, one for all the artists under USGEN.

LGC BOYS VS US GEN BOYS

MZSD currently has 4 members who are officially part of LGC BOYS (bk, noeul, saem and yichen). from JANUARY 21 to JANUARY 25 these members will be joining the rest of LGC BOYS to film a VARIETY SHOW overseas (note: details will be posted next week as the calendar has been pushed back by a week due to last week's ac).

no to be outdone, the members not part of the unit (mk, wenjun, jazz and eden) will be filming their own content in late MARCH that will be posted on the USGEN channel. since these members have the least predebut exposure, the goal of this special content is to get them out there. the four of them will be going to HONGDAE, given each a hand camera, and challenged to find:

one person with any MZSD song in their playlist

one person to do any MZSD dance challenge*

one person to sing any MZSD song with them at the noraebang*

one person who recognizes them first and give to them your photocard

( *any mzsd song released before march 2025 is eligible)

UNTIL D-DAY AND PLEDGE

a knock on the door interrupts the manager and none other than SEO HANEUL walks in. he nonchalantly greets the members by raising his hand before letting it down. with a yawn, he sits next to KYUHYUN. "boss is not here right now and still bitter that i got to produce your debut song" a self-satisfied smile appears on his face. no matter how grown haneul is, giving headaches to the eldest member is still one of his favorite hobbies. "i think i was supposed to tell you some mildly important stuff, but i totally forgot." he continues. "so let's just cut to the chase.

with BK, NOEUL and WENJUN'S participation, your next TWO SONGS are ready. i've sent the lyrics and relevant stuff through kakaotalk, you guys can check later. we'll be recording them next week, starting from JANUARY 27 and should release them on MARCH 3. lessons for EARTH, WIND, AND FIRE and ME= choreographies will also begin around that time. oh, did daehyun mention that i also created EWF choreography?" he doesn't wait nor need to know the answer. instead he raises a finger and points at MINKI. "MK, you will be my assistant for this task. so while the others are off to some island this week, you'll be with me to learn and smooth out the choreography. for the three of you who will be free… hmm… work on your cardio" he instructs ominously as kyuhyun shoots him a dark look. which part wasn't he supposed to spoil? only he and the manager know.

"we know that you want to be more involved in the creative process of the group, however, the whole team, including your manager here and daehyun, thinks its better that you focus on your debut at the moment. the last ten days of march will be dedicated to shoot EWF and ME= music videos. EWF's shooting alone is projected to take a whole week with little rest on your part. at the same time, we'll all be gearing up to release a USGEN mini-album before going on a GREETING TOUR. you're going to be busy enough for the next few months. this is why we've worked on the label's album with producers outside the company. the mini will include 6 new songs; one for each group and four unit songs. the lyrics distribution and details are also on kakaotalk. we want to be done recording all the songs by the first week of april. it's going to be a tight schedule, but that's something you'll need to get used to it anyway." he pauses, one eye closed and the other scrunched as he thinks about what he might have missed. "oh, right! APRIL 30. your debut date is APRIL 30! to commemorate this milestone and motivate your fans, each of you has to write down a pledge for if you win first place on music shows. get creative! like… i don't know… promise to jump off a plane or something! anyway, good luck!" and in the blink of an eye, he makes his exit, leaving kyuhyun to answer questions and other details.

for a little update, emi is still living her best life and having a ball. she had an amazing time as a guest for lgc girls japan, which she's forever grateful for. unfortunately, a few people she was close to have left, so she's a bit sad about that but, she'll prevail like always. now, she's working on honing her craft, including have a workshop to be a triple threat and trainee mission 017.

PLOT DROP 002 pt 2 ;;

King Rhaegar sat at the high table, a fine figure in his royal attire, adorned with the emblem of the dragon. His keen violet orbs watched his guests, a soft smile playing upon his lips as he savored the roasted boar, the meat cooked to perfection and subtly seasoned. He seemed to be enjoying the festivities, laughing heartily at the jester's antics, clapping in rhythm with the bards’ songs, and raising his goblet in several toasts. His charm was infectious, his charisma a beacon in the grand hall.

Rhaegar, resplendent in his silver and crimson attire, rose from his seat of carved ebony, a goblet of Dornish Red glinting in his hand. A hush descended upon the sea of guests as his voice rang out, the words of the peace treaty echoing in the grand hall. The room was charged with anticipation as the King brought the goblet to his lips.

As if struck by an unseen bolt, Rhaegar gasped, the goblet tumbling from his grip, crimson wine cascading down like a river of blood. He buckled, a proud tree felled in an instant, his life extinguished as swiftly as a candle in a storm. His goblet lay abandoned, a silent witness to a king's fall.

Panic rippled through the hall, a tidal wave of terror and confusion. Swords sang as they were unsheathed, metal clashed against metal, a symphony of chaos. The madness was curbed only by the combined efforts of Prince Daeron Targaryen and the Stark King, their voices booming through the uproar, a lighthouse amidst a raging storm. A grim decree was issued: the Red Keep, once a beacon of joy and revelry, was now a prison. No one would leave the capital; no soul would escape until the serpent that caused the tragedy was brought to justice.

Without wasting a moment, the royal guards began a frantic search throughout the castle, interrogating guests, scouring rooms, all in the desperate attempt to uncover the culprit. The Red Keep was on high alert, its once welcoming halls now a labyrinth of suspicion. The dawn brought no relief, only a chilling discovery. The news descended upon the court like a raven of ill omen, casting a pall of suspicion over the Stark household. The remains of potion were discovered in Prince Richard Stark’s and Ser Silas' chambers. In the eye of this growing tempest, a lifeline was thrown over the next few days.

A betrothal between Prince Jasper Baratheon and Princess Wylla Stark was announced, a bond aimed to unite the dragon and the wolf, to bridge the widening chasm of distrust. A glimmer of hope pierced the cloak of uncertainty, but it was a fragile thread holding the realm together.

The air in the Great Sept was heavy with expectation, the echoes of Rhaegar's untimely death still resounding in the hallowed stone. The coronation of King Daeron was fast approaching. For now, the realm held its breath, caught in the delicate dance of politics and power, the shadow of betrayal looming overhead from the loss of their king.

ooc: hi everyone! in light of the sudden, tragic demise of king rhaegar, his son, prince daeron, ascends to the throne. as we navigate through this next plot drop, you are welcome to begin writing and crafting your character's own narratives during the actual event of the king's poisoning, or in the aftermath of this shocking incident, as per your preference.

prince richard and ser silas (thanks to muns bruce and amanda for being willing to have their characters part of this plot drop!) have been implicated in this unsettling event, victims of a dangerous plot that casts a shadow of suspicion over them. in other words, they were framed! however, this is not known ic.

amidst this turmoil, an opportunity arises to reinforce the bonds of unity between north and nouth. in effort of dispelling the rumours of the north's involvement in the king's death, both kingdoms have expressed hopes to solidify their burgeoning peace talks and establish a potent alliance by intertwining their destinies in a marriage of their noble houses.

002.  EXTRA ORDINARY

warning ! mention of death that aren't jayden's. mentions of hospitals, radiation poisoning, and s/o death. just all the way down until codename.

near death experience…  it was just a day in july 2017 and waking up it felt like any other. he and celina had been living in new york for six months and he'd proposed two months into their move, he was riding on a high of ecstasy for his future as the pair planned and saved for the years to come together. he'd been out in an open marketplace when the screaming started and there came the weirdest sensation, what had happened was later found through descriptions on articles he had found ; an unidentified eo had been at the market (there are speculations that they didn't even know they were and eo) something had triggered their powers which in turn led them to have a meltdown on a radioactive level. people that were closest to the individual didn't stand a chance and people who were far enough away (like jayden) were hit with advanced radiation sickness. what was going on in his head when it all took place was the simple phrase 'ah shit' . jayden spent four months in the hospital studying what an event with eo like that does to a human body. four months he and his future bride were told constantly that his vision had suffered and he'd probably be blind and still battling complications due to radiation. when he left the hospital he'd shown them all how wrong, jayden left walking out and looking into their eyes as he shook the hands of everyone who had helped take care of him. even walking out he didn't feel quite right, but he plans and he couldn't let that small nagging feeling in the back of his skull drag him down. power…  heat vision leaves little to the imagination of what it is, jayden generates beams of heat from his eyes. he doesn’t know how hot it gets, he doesn't know how to properly control it (nor does he honestly care to learn), and he lives in somewhat fear that someone else is going to get hurt because he doesn't know what he's doing. it seems to fluctuate with extreme moods, a main one being anger. jayden learned that his miraculous healing came at a price two months out from leaving the hospital. not having been one to suffer nightmares before his nde they became a frequent thing when he was back at home, always the same thing of that eo at the market. one night during an episode celina tried to wake him up and there was little jayden could do when it came to saving her, considering the incident took out half their apartment it was ruled as a villain attack on citizens (much to jayden trying to make sense of it all to them). he still doesn't know anything about well anything, he does toy with the idea of joining cerberus but ultimately just wants to be left alone and try to live life trying to pass as normal. it's honestly a feat easier said than done when your eyeballs start glowing red when your upset. drawbacks / vulnerabilities…  lowkey always stressed out especially in crowds because he's not in full control of his powers. after use he gets intense searing migraines and blurry vision that can last for days. his main trigger seems to be anger looking past the night with celina. he hasn't explored his power so he couldn't even begin to guess what would happen over time or with prolonged use. codename…  it's not a codename so much as it's how he signs his work. it was celina who actually started calling him bluejay after they first met, it was the first time he was actually okay with someone giving him a nickname. part of him toys with the idea of actually changing it and part of him would rather just go by jayden ware and pretend everything is alright.

possible connections... acquaintances(he doesn't do well with calling people friends), you'd be lost without me (someone he can't shake and always turns up at his place to make sure he's taking care of himself), someone that helps him with comics, and nice little spicy one would be an agent with cerberus whose the sibling of celina and is upset with jayden for a very clear reason but also tasked with trying to convince him cerberus is a good idea(after that plot drop it might be hard though). i still have more i have to add, but they will come later! he's very much giving the carl from up vibes though, just with superpowers.

The Everyday Watch

Writing about watches, yesterday, made me think of a type of watch I just can’t seem to find: The watch equivalent of the classic white T-shirt. I also recently read about an interesting pair of typefaces – and put together I got the inspiration to try my best at designing the watch I just can’t seem to find.

Untitled Sans/Serif

These typefaces are made with the expressed goal of not getting recognised or noticed. The creator, Kris Sowersby, quotes from the book Super Normal, by Jasper Morrison and Naoto Fukasawa:

There are better ways to design than putting a lot of effort into making something look special. Special is generally less useful than normal, and less rewarding in the long term. Special things demand attention for the wrong reasons, interrupting potentially good atmosphere with their awkward presence. — Morrison

Designers generally do not think to design the “ordinary”. If anything, they live in fear of people saying their designs are “nothing special.” Of course, undeniably, people do have an unconscious everyday sense of “normal,” but rather than try to blend in, the tendency for designers is to try to create “statement” or “stimulation.” So “Normal” has come to mean “unstimulating” or “boring” design. — Fukasawa

Some quotes from Sowersby himself:

Most new typefaces are imbued with layers of history, aesthetic associations and cultural signifiers. (…) To lend a new typeface prestige, these blurbs reveal the old specimens that influenced it, and name-drop typographers and foundries long dead. They detail the “engineering challenges” the typeface has heroically overcome — usually small printing sizes, low pixel resolution or limited horizontal/vertical space. Contemporary typefaces are touted as the complete aesthetic and technical package.

But what if you don’t have any special technical requirements, or you want to avoid specific historical connotations? What if you just need to set text with something… utterly normal?

I wanted the details to be exactly normal, without exaggeration. I made a typeface that a designer can use without worrying whether the French Renaissance is an appropriate cultural reference, or if it’s OK to use Bodoni for text. I made all Untitled Serif design decisions while reading. After each round of changes, I embedded the updated fonts into an ePub of Orwell’s 1984 and read several chapters. If a detail stood out, I removed it in the next round of changes. I kept doing this until it was totally comfortable to read.

In general, I absolutely prefer opinionated design – but I do find this approach refreshing. And it fits well with my recent search for a really nice white T-shirt. (I ended up buying this, from Warehouse.)

The missing watch

Most watches fall under some more or less strict categories – like dive, tool, field, dress, or sports watch. And I love, and own, a couple from these categories! But what I feel is missing, both from my collection and the watch world, is a mechanical casual watch. A neutral watch that would fit perfectly with a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

Some contenders

If you have a recommendation here, I’d love to hear about it! Here are some that are close to what I’d want.

Nomos Club

The round edges and typeface gives it the friendly look that I want – but every variant of it has (at least) one too many things that stick out: Either a blend of roman numerals, or contrasting colours I don’t want. But this one (apart from it being too expensive for me) would be pretty perfect if they just come out with a more basic one.

Kuoe Old Smith / 90-002

This one has the sizes I want, and the generally friendly look. My main issue, though, is the beige dial and yellowed, faux patina, lume. I’d rather see it with a white dial and proper lume (and rather use one that ages). The numbers could also be less bold.

Hamilton Khaki Field

Field watches are pretty close as well – but they often have yellowed lume as well, and are a bit too tool-y.

Junghans Form A

There are plenty of minimalistic Bauhaus watches, like the Form A. Another favourite of mine, is the Stowa Antea KS. (The image below is from this review of it.)

And I’d love to have one someday! But they’re a bit too angular and strict for what I look for. More black turtleneck than white T-shirt.

Timex Weekender

This watch is what spurred this whole search. I just love the super casual look of this – but I just wish it was a slightly better watch! (Like £200 for instance.) My dream is that Timex will someday come out with a mechanical version (the current version only comes with a quite noisy quarts movement), no red seconds hand, and with 50 meters water resistance. Add a date complication, and I think you’d have the perfect everyday watch.

An homage

When people make homage watches (a nice word for copies), it’s usually for things like Rolexes. But I dream of making a homage of a €50 watch!

I have of course never designed something like this – and I know it’ll never come of anything. But it was still fun!

And in the honour of the Weekender, I’ve named my design the …

Everyday watch

I want it to be mechanical, and preferably automatic – as you could then wear it every day and never have to wind it. However, the cheaper automatics are typically thicker (and the watch would have to be cheap) – so I fear it would have to be hand-wound as to not be too bulbous.

I’d like it to have a date complication, as that’s the most useful one day-to-day. And I also imagine it having 50 ATM – just enough so you don’t have to worry about water damage, and can even take it for a swim.

I’ve set the numbers with Untitled Sans, and the logo is in Untitled Serif.1

I couldn’t decide, so I made two main versions: One with the logo above the center and crown at three o’clock, and one with the logo below and crown at four o’clock (to balance out the heavier numbers 10-12). I think I prefer the calendar complication at 6 o’clock.

Compared to the Weekender, the lugs are a bit less straight – and I envision it at 38 mm.

Two of the hands have lume in the middle, and so has part of the rail around the numbers (with the indices applied on top of the lume). So it could look something like this:

I also toyed with the idea of adding the extra row of numbers from 13-24 that most Weekender models have. What I ended up with, was to try to add every other number with lume:

♛ - intro + q4 plot call & tracker ❕

hey you all, thank you so much for an amazing welcome. i'm bee, the mun behind only jasper (for now), and i'm super excited to write with you all. this is a intro, but as it's the start of the last quarter, i'd figured i'd lump in one. if you'd like to plot for missions and/or events, don't hesitate to reach out or like/reply to this post and i'm sure we can come up with something!

meet jasper, aka jas, or really he'll answer to anything that moderately starts with a j, though you might have to take his earbuds out first. he's got a little bit of a reputation that precedes him if someone does a little bit of digging! he tries not to make a big deal out of it, so unless you ask, he won't tell. still though, he's talented in his own right with a voice that sometimes surprises him. he's constantly writing song lyrics, and if there is a piano best believe he'll play a few fun tunes. he's also as british as they come, complete with the dry sense of humor and deadpan delivery, but he's fun, i promise!

an '03 liner, and was recruited in july of 2022 after rejecting the scout three times. he truly had no initial thoughts of pursuing such a career in the spotlight, but the life has sort of grown on him, and he enjoys performing ever more than he thought he would.

he's from across the pond, london, and he was born and raised there, though he's traveled thanks to his mom's amazing talents.

his mom is yoona mae, a prominent trot singer that is known as the queen of trot(think jang yoon jeong), and his initial recruitment was only on the fact that he could play piano and was pretty. once he sung at his audition, the rest is sort of history, but he's kind of apprehensive of the shoes he thinks has to fill.

like previously stated, he's a prominent piano player, but he's been playing both piano and the cello since he was five and seven, respectively. while he's also got a pretty unique voice, it's legacy who has honed in on the concentration which is thrilling and terrifying for him. he also has been writing and doing minor composing since he was thirteen, is pretty amazing at sight reading- and is show blessed with perfect pitch- something his mother doesn't even possess.

he works extremely hard as a trainee, mainly because he feels like he has something to prove but, he can't say he doesn't enjoy the hard work. it's nothing like what his mother went through, he sort of likes that aspect to-- carving his own tiny place in their family's history and maybe even more. he's a excellent singer, and a decent performer, but he's got some work to do before he can debut, so he's working hard to perfect his dance and 'idol' like skills. his sense of humor is very british coded, but he's also the type of guy that 'complains' about something while doing the very thing he's being asked for, ie. handing someone a pen they dropped on the floor while saying he doesn't have time for such trivial things. he also will give you the shirt off his back if you're freezing, he's just chill like that.
