Something non-Destiel related for a bit. But it is related to Supernatural.

I’ve mentioned a couple of times my dad died. It's only been 6 weeks and it doesn't feel any easier. I'm thinking about him a lot at the moment, and how engaged he was when I spoke of the show and my convention experiences.

I started watching Supernatural as soon as it aired in the UK. I’m a horror fan so it was right up my street. I normally watched it on my own late in the evening.

There was a day when my dad watched it with me. His first words were ‘oh that’s why you watch it.’ Literally as Jensen and Jared popped on the screen. Obviously, teenage me denied it profusely. I did genuinely watch for the story, but two cute leads also helped.

It was the only time we watched it together before I fell out of love with it in my 20s around S5.

I started watching again when I was in my 30s after Jensen was announced as being on The Boys (I love The Boys!). During the rewatch, I fell in love with Cas and started to understand Destiel.

I attended my first convention in 2023. I had missed out on Jensen being in my home town, so thought I'd take a holiday to Dusseldorf to attend Purcon 7.

I told my dad I was planning on attending this convention, and he remembered it was a show I enjoyed as a teenager. He seemed shocked it lasted so long, and that I was watching again. But happy that I was doing something I would enjoy.

I attended 4 conventions over the last year, and he’d always be the first to ask how they were. Wanting to know if I had a good time, what it was like. Whether the actors were nice. If they said anything about the pieces I got signed. Stuff like that.

The weekend before Purcon 8, I was with my parents. My dad was still in the recovery stage of his radiotherapy and was ill, but pretty bright otherwise. I remember telling him I'd visit again in a couple of weeks and tell him all about the holiday and convention. Hopefully give him something a bit more positive to think about for a little while.

I didn't know that it would be my last conversation with my dad.

He was put into an induced coma 12 hours before I was due to fly to Germany. That morning I had conversations with my mum, who told me to go. That we didn't know at the time what would happen and I would just be at home worrying about him. So I did.

It was on the morning of Purcon 8 that I found out he had brain damage caused by a mistake in A&E. That he wouldn't come back to us and it wasn't even because of the cancer. I was in pieces. I found a corner of the hotel and just sat there crying because I couldn't get the strength to do anything else. I somehow found it when I needed to get my auto with Misha and photos with Misha and Jensen though.

I managed to ask Jensen for a hug, because I needed one after that news. Not Misha though. I love the guy but he still intimidates the living shit out of me sometimes, and I'm convinced he may not like me.

When I did get home my dad was still in a coma and I did as promised. I told him all about my holiday. About the convention. How I summoned the courage to ask Jensen for a hug, and tell Misha about the promotion I got working on something really important politically.

Afterwards, I cried because I knew it would be the last time I would get to talk to him about one of my favourite shows, and my convention experiences. It broke my heart.

Anyway, I don't really know where my point was with all this. I just was reminiscing. If you have read, thank you for letting me get it all out, and here are some photos of my holiday I could never show my dad. (Which is even more gut wrenching, as we did share a love of photography).

If you've never visited Dusseldorf and the surrounding cities, I recommend it. It's so beautiful around there.

NEW Enhanced Edition - CHICON 2010 - Mishalecki Breakfast Panel

My latest video is up! This is a rare U.S. Jared and Misha panel. They have a fun dynamic with Jared's playful humor and Misha's dry sarcasm. If you haven't seen my posts before and want more details about what I'm doing, see the bottom of the post.

92% of the footage came from the video AgtSpooky sent me. It was already on YouTube, but not properly credited to her. Most of the audio came from a different source, and I used a few other sources to fill in small sections of both video and audio. All sources are credited in my video description.

Video Quality Notes

As usual, the breakfast video quality is lower than the main panels. AgtSpooky's video came out the best and clearest overall, but the quality does fluctuate. She also had a more sideways angle, so we don't always have a clear view of their faces depending on which direction they're facing. The other videos with a more direct view were usually quite blurry, so I mostly stuck with AgtSpooky's because I thought her clearer profile view offered better visibility than a blurry direct view. There were a couple short clips with good quality and a direct view, and I cut to those when I could.

The main panels have much better quality and a more direct view, so my next set of videos will look better.

Subtitles

Many of you know that I subtitle Jared and Jensen in red and blue because those were their mark tape colors on the set of Supernatural. When I tried to find Misha's mark tape color, I found this post which has photos indicating it was probably yellow.

I've used yellow to represent the fans at the mic during the main panels since I started this project. At the time, I hadn't thought ahead to the likelihood that I'd eventually subtitle Misha too. Since my YouTube statistics show that nearly half my viewers watch with the subtitles turned on, I don't want to cause confusion by switching up my colors after all this time.

I did want to give Misha's color some symbolism that fans would likely recognize though, so I subtitled him with orange in honor of his apparent penchant for wearing orange underwear.

This video was more difficult to subtitle than most I've worked on so far, so you may see more than the usual dreaded [inaudible].

What's Next

I've started working on the main panel from this same convention. It starts off as a solo Misha panel, then it becomes another Mishalecki panel, then it becomes a J2M panel. I plan to split them up into 3 videos, the same way I treated the Jared/Jensen/J2 panels that ran one-after-the-other at other conventions. This will keep them a more manageable length so that it won't take me an eternity to publish a new one, and it allows people to more easily watch just the video(s) with the actor(s) they're interested in.

Although my project is more focused on Jared and Jensen, I do plan to do the solo Misha panel. I had promised a while back that I'd probably do Misha's solo panels if I happened to have any good-quality, mostly-complete videos of his panel that I could use at the time I was working on other videos from the same convention. That probably won't happen often, but in this case I have a video like that from AgtSpooky.

A recap for anyone not familiar with this project…

In December 2023, I started this project to enhance old convention videos. I'm upscaling the videos and making other visual improvements, adding extra content to clarify various references, and adding human-generated, color-coded subtitles so you can better understand the sometimes-chaotic audio. The subtitles can be auto-translated to other languages via YouTube.

My goal is to publish the best, most complete, and most watchable versions of these older convention panels yet seen, but this is only possible thanks to the fans who captured the footage in the first place and were generous enough to share it with other fans. My video descriptions on YouTube will always credit my sources.

If you have any old convention videos you'd be willing to contribute to this project, please message me! I can also be reached at DetailTilted@gmail.com. Even if your videos are on YouTube, the original files, if you still have them, may upscale much better. If I can get them to upscale, I'd happily send the upscaled files back to you for your own collection whether I use them or not.

Heller Hypocrisy

Another episode of Heller Hypocrisy. This is Teagan who has constantly hated on Jared for the most randomest of things. I am even suspecting that she was a part of Jai's gang coz her face seems familiar. This is just to give a flavor of the kind of things she has tweeted about him not a long time ago. She has actively gone out of her way to hate on him.

Guess what she was at Ahbl and got an Photo OP hug with the guy. Conveniently she didn't post about it on her Twitter coz obviously people are going to call out the hypocrisy but of course it's there.

If you look closely this tweet has the Jared photo OP in it. See how conveniently she didn't even acknowledge it.

So the point is if he was such a terrible guy and if all the labels that you guys use for him are true then why do you guys still get ops and autos with him. Obviously this question is rhetorical coz I know the answer. Those are just labels that you use to push your ship agenda and nothing to do with actual truth.

I especially like how Jared makes everyone feel special and seen. Young, old, fat, thin, male, female he treats them all the same.

I was thinking about this when looking through all the ops. His hugs and pics with male fans are indistinguishable from his ones with female fans (unless they requested a specific pose of course) when often when you see con pics with male celebs they are pretty dude-bro in ops with male fans, but not Jared. He treats everyone the same. No matter who you are, what you look like, how you identify - everyone leaves feeling like he really saw them, he was really interested in them.

This is why so many people love him! Sure, they may like projects he's in, but the loyalty he inspires comes from the person he is, not the characters he plays on screen.

Jared is the most loving, caring person!

I've read it a thousand times online, but experiencing it in person puts it on anoher level!

Jared's schedule on Purcon 8 was merciless! (In fact, the whole schedule of Purcon was the one thing I have to criticise regarding this convention. Maybe I'll make another post about this.) For example on Sunday Jared had 15 Minutes of double photo (with Mark), then the J2 panel (30 Minutes) then M&G (30 Minutes) then photos 2,5 hours of photos (which run late, so it was close to three hours in the end), then a single panel (30 Minutes) without a single break. (There would have been a 20 minute break after the 2,5 hours of photos, but again, they were late.) Then he had half an hour break, before autos were from 16.25 to 18.25!

I don't know about US conventions, but at JiB there are more little breaks, and the photos, autos, etc. are in smaller patches. Like, 1 hour photos in the morning, then an hour of autos, then a panel, then photos again.

I don't think I could stand in a photo room and smile for 3 hours straight and give every fan the time of the day and a beautiful photo!

But Jared did! (And so did Jensen, btw.! Neither of them ever showing how tired they were. Or at least trying to hide it the best they could.)

So, @takikojou and I took our Jared photos on sunday. We were in line last, since we had the cheapest entrance tickets, which means Jared had taken pictures for nearly 2,5 hours. When we were in the photo room, we could clearly see how exhausted he was. Between pictures, his eyes drooped. Yet, he gave EVERY. SINGLE. FAN. his full attention. He made those 10 seconds special for everyone of nearly 2000 fans! One girl wanted to do a handholding pose with him and he squatted down (as he always does), but she asked him to stand tall please, which he did. And the whole room laughed. (This kind of good natured laugh.) So did Jared. He picked up the energy and still had fun. Then a man came and asked him to do the WOW fingers. Jared clearly loved that, they made a bit of fun about it. Jared clapped the fan on the back in parting and said "Loved that pose!". @takikojou had an amazing op, but that's her story to tell.

Then it was my turn. I wanted to do a drinking pose. He listened attentively (For some reason we were not allowed to show pictures on the phone of what we wanted, because they said it would take more time? I think it takes more time to explain, but oh well.) Then he did the pose and looked me dead in the eye. For my second photo I asked him to choose the pose. He said "I'll stand behind you", then turned me around and held me withe both arms around my shoulders. And then he pressed with so much strengh, held me sooooooooo tight! I grin like a lunatic on the pic, but who can blame me? I then turned halfway around to say "Thank you", before walking away, and he stroked my arm and said "Thank you, darling!"

The pictures turned out wonderful. And all of that after 2,5 hours of nonstop pictures! Not a single photo he took shows how tired he was!

He came on stage right after photos for his panel and was like "I'm gonna sit, I need that now", falling into the chair right away. Yet, he continued to give us an awesome panel. Seriously, my brain would have been mush by now, yet he gave clever, insightful answers as always and put his full energy into that panel.

We don't deserve that man!

All that goes for Jensen too, btw! But he had a much better schedule with little breaks and rather an hour photos, then something else, then photos again. Which is why I was especially blown away by Jaredˋs dedication. But that doesn't change the fact, that Jensen, too, gives every fan his full attention and makes the most of those 10 seconds and of the panels and everything. They are both amazing like that!

My Jensen photo was just as good, definitely giving more soldier boy rather than Dean but I wouldn’t it any other way…his voice was so deep and so unexpected I forgot they were American tbh, Jensen is just so damn pretty I was shaking after the photo (we took his first and then went straight in line for Jared)

He signed my Dean funko as well and man I just he’s too attractive I was literally speechless and kept fumbling my words

I ALSO got photos with Richard Speight Jr, Rob Benedict and Matt Cohen (and autos for all of them as well) I was literally the height of Rich and Rob it’s hilarious (I was wearing my docs but thats irrelevant)

I got to personalise their autos and rich wished me a happy birthday (my birthday was the 8th and the con was the 9th) and I got Rich’s new CD which he signed as a bonus.

hi hi where do you listen to litwtc? i’m terrible at listening to podcasts but i’ve been wanting to start listening for ages now and i listened to the first episode available on spotify a while back but i don’t think it’s actually the very first episode? i’m confused. anyway idk if it’s on youtube either. side note but i feel like i have an overwhelming amount to get caught up on i definitely should’ve started listening sooner 🥴

Also a couple of notes:

• the YouTube channel only has the episodes starting from the Andy King episode (apart from “Yes, And”, “dark whispers by candlelight” and “the desolate dystopia hour with Will Wood and Chris Dunne”)

• the older episodes are more focused on the premise which is “you ask us questions about the apocalypse and we answer them.” meanwhile the newer episodes still have that premise, but Chris and Will are just fucking around with the podcast more - one episode was literally just them playing bioshock and we don’t even get to see the gameplay

• you don’t need to listen to the episodes in a certain order, you don’t even need to listen to every single episode, you can listen to any episode whenever you want

• there has been some characters in this podcast !! some of them rarely get brought up again in future episodes but a lot of people still like talking about them - here’s a little list of episodes where some characters came from:

I don’t get why some fans ask for advices on bullying , mental health etc from j2. It's not only oversharing your issues in front of bunch of strangers, also making the actors uncomfortable by seeking expert advices from them.

I really kind of hate it, tbh.

It does put the actors in an uncomfortable spot. They aren't going to be rude, but they're not our personal friends or mental health experts. I think they're both nice, thoughtful guys who do care about their fans, but they're actors, ffs. It can be an emotional burden on them to have to hear negative stories. Or to be put on the spot where they may feel like they need to give the right answer or they're letting down someone in need. It's really not considerate or appropriate to put that on them.

Not to mention - and I can't think of a nicer way to say this? It's fairly attention-seeking behavior. The fan isn't realistically expecting them to solve the problems they're having. They're wanting personal attention, acknowledgement, and often sympathy from J2. These guys are there to talk about themselves and their projects and in doing so entertain a whole room full of fans. So one particular fan getting up and going into detail about their personal life/issues/whatever, making it about them? Especially if their issue is a potentially triggering topic some people would want to avoid hearing about at all because of their own life/issues/whatever? It's really not appropriate or considerate of the time and money of all the other fans when it uses up time that could be spent on questions J2 actually are the best choice to answer.

I don't know if it's still in use, but at one point Creation had to add a statement actively dissuading fans from trauma-dumping on the stars because it was becoming a problem (for Jared especially). It was specifically about holding up auto and photo op lines, but I don't think it actually applies less to the panels:

We are asking that our audience does not delay photo ops or autographs by telling our stars personal stories of how the series has helped them during these sessions. We are well aware of the importance of this issue and the great work the series’ stars have done in this area, but we feel it is not in the best interests of the conventions to over burden our celebrities with so many difficult and heart wrenching stories focused at an event that is meant to be fun for them and the audience. We are asking, as some of the celebrities have, that your personal stories be posted to their Facebook pages where they can read them in moderation and at a time when they are not dealing with long lines of other folks. Thank you for your consideration in these matters, which also includes not taking time at our question line for personal stories and relate your questions to the series and the stars on stage. THANKS!

Neither of the incidents in the main panel this weekend were as derailing or graphic as some in the past, and there was perhaps more of an effort to make it "a question". But I really hope it happening twice isn't a sign of this sort of thing coming back as a major issue again.

Ok this pisses me off so much.

You pay thousands of dollars to go to a convention and then have the audacity to boo Jensen and Jared. You can clearly hear some female fan saying "Jensen" then start booing. Thankfully, the other fans started cheering loudly to cover it up. Like bitch shut your mouth! Be grateful he is even there this weekend. He worked all night long Friday night filming so he could make it there late Saturday afternoon to be able to sign autos and take photo ops with you today.

Day 1:

Opening:

everyone was so happy to be there, and so shocked how many people were there!!! 2500!!!

they showed vids before bringing everyone on stage and continued that throughout the panels. it's a cute touch

Misha auto:

he smiled and i got shaky knees and giggled like a 12 year old with a crush

jensen was at the table next to him!!

very quick but there was a huge line

he signed my book!!

i said "hi misha" and he said hi back

he looked at my destiel shirt and smiled :)

Ty & DJ:

started by telling us thank you for the congrats on their engagement

you can see how much they love each other!!! no pda but the way they look at each other!!

plus they both said multiple times that meeting each other was the best thing that happened

dj has been obsessed with eastenders since the 90s, never missed an episode

ty told everyone not to smoke cigarettes

dj had a glass of wine (it was 1pm)

Meeting Darius:

so nice and kind!! gentle vibes, literally what you would expect from misha's best friend

he told us him and misha have a competition to see who can bring the other person to a bigger event - darius took misha to the oscars, misha took darius to meet zelensky, but now darius got invited to meet the pope!!

talked to us a bit about filmmaking and how the picture aspect is basically the same throughout film history, but sound changes every week

it took 26 weeks in post for the sound of metal to get the sound right

he's friends with emilia clarke??? and said that she was so upset over the got ending because so many babies have her character's name

he felt the spn ending was rushed
