Fell down a rabbit hole, so have traditional Japanese weapons for Maizulee:
Mai:
Bo shuriken- she carries them.around her wrists, ankles, basically throwing spikes
kunai- the typical ninja knives, there's a plethora of different shapes
naginata- I'm not really sure about this one since it's a polearm and quite long, but I like to imagine Mai also knows how to fight with close range weapons (also bonus point, the naginata was usualy used by female samurai)
kaiken- short dagger resembling a katana
suntetsu- a metal spike with a ring to wear ut on your finger (concealed weapon)
Ty lee:
kusari fundo/Jōhyō- a metal weight/spike on a rope (her fluid fighting style reminds me of dancing, and this weapon is usually used by a lot of fluid, dance-like motions)
tekko kagi or te kagi- the 'hand claws'...don't ask why, she would just have them
Tonfa- wooden weapon of a stick and a handle (one word-bonk)
Azula:
kankyu- a middle-sized bow
Wakatushi arrows- so called "meat-cutter" arrows. Because of course she would
kaburi-ya arrows- "howling arrows". They were hollowed out with designs to whistle as they were shot (she'd use them to grind her opponents nerves)
(Maybe) sai- three-pronged weapon with the middle prong longer than the side ones (Used for stabbing amd disarming the opponent. Concealed weapon)
I'm so happy about my old Naruto obsession!!
I like all their weapons!

Axe: iron; handle: wood, handle wrapped with bronze strip
Overall H 179.8; L of axe 28.0, W 25.5
Nanbokucho to Muromachi period/14th century
Nara National Museum
659(工124)
While a Nyubu ax used to be a practical tool for mountain ascetics who used it to cut path through the mountains, it later became formalized and was also used as a piece of ritual equipment. This ax comprises a shaft and a blade in a plectrum shape, where the width is shortened in the center. The blade has a heart-shaped hole in the center that is rimmed with copper and the rear part, which has a three-petal shape, also has a similar hole. A narrow copper plate covers the shaft in spirals. Since Yamabushi practitioners of Shugendo (ascetic training to obtain enlightenment through the study of the relationship between man and nature) practice asceticism in rugged areas such as the sacred mountains across the country, they carry gear required for roaming through wilderness. This ax displays the powerfulness of a practical tool through its restrained decoration. This is believed to have been handed down to Jinjoji Temple in Shiga.

SPEAKING OF JAPANESE WEAPONS IM GONNA HAVE A LITTLW RANT ABOUT THE ORIGAMI ONES I MADE RECENTLY!!! SO STRAP IN BOYZ!
First of all here is a crap-tacular photo of them all stuck on my wall (coz I can)
Tumblr media
These are miniature Twin Tantō’s, generally samurai would have a katana, a wakizashi and a tantō for a complete set. They are definitely not to scale but are fun to play around with, the design was supposed to be so that you could fit them into each other to hide the “blade” and you could pull them apart to create two.
Tumblr media
The second is a trident, not gonna say much about that because it’s not actually Japanese and not my area of expertise I made this for a friend so I’m not keeping it.
Tumblr media
The next is a set of Ninjatō again not to scale and again again the green and purple on is for my friend. These were really fun to make and it’s was the first in the series of origami weapons I made. This is as I stated before usually part of a set of Katana, Ninjatō and Tantō. The Ninjatō is the medium sized one in comparison to the other two.
Tumblr media
The Kunai are my favourite weapon by far they are a type of throwing knife that can also be used in close quarters combat as a small dagger like weapon. These weapons are traditionally black but also come in sliver and grey tones. I’ve made one for my friend but I can’t be bothered to take a photos right now :)
Tumblr media
And last but not least are the Shuriken or throwing stars in layman’s terms they are a set of two but the other one is in my pocket 😁👍 These stars come I’m many shapes but I went with the classic one almost anyone could recognise.

2013? Gosh, that's an old post. At first I wondered why it crossed my dash, and then the penny - or possibly ryō - dropped.
Tumblr media
I binge-viewed "Blue Eye Samurai" while bedridden with a cold and enjoyed it enormously (and will probably enjoy it even more second time around without interruption from coughs and snrks) so a reappearance of odd Japanese weapons might be associated with the show - and thus this next bit of info might prove useful for anyone writing fanfic.
Those are kusari-gama (chain-sickles), and here are some neat line-drawings from Ratti & Westbrook's "Secrets of the Samurai" (recommended) showing how they were used.
Tumblr media
Two notes:
(1) Without the kusari (chain) it reverts from an obvious weapon to an innocent farming tool, a kama (sickle). It's STILL a weapon, of course, just less obviously so.
(Interesting modern reference: kusari-gama are illegal here in Ireland, but non-chain kama can be bought from both martial arts and garden equipment suppliers...)
(2) Any chain weapon needs open space for use to best advantage, so confined areas are a problem and any crafty swordsperson * facing one should make a fighting withdrawal to the nearest small room, bamboo grove, silk-dyeing yard, narrow alley etc. and turn that constriction to their advantage.
* Blue-eyed or not... :->

Do you like to use the Mushroom Cloud as a fun Barbieheimer meme? If you do, it's fine so long as you know what the cloud caused and what it symbolizes. If you don't know the circumstances of the mushroom cloud, please search ''Hiroshima Nagasaki atomic bomb people (with your safe search off)' on Google Images. *The images are very disturbing. Please DO NOT try it if you are sensitive to extremely disturbing images.
I'm Japanese. In Japan, unfortunately, many people have never seen the old pictures of the real effects of the mushroom cloud. We learn about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (both are cities in Japan) in primary school or junior high, when we are about 10-14 years old. Many adults think it's too risky to show children the pictures because it shows human bodies, which look like human charcoal. Living people got severe burns on their faces, their backs, and their whole bodies looked like melting wax (additionally, most of the people in the pictures are citizens, not soldiers. There are many kids, babies, and old people, of course.) Even though it happened in our land, many people (including me, I'm ashamed to say though) don't feel it was an actual event because it seems very unreal and it happened almost 80 years ago. Fortunately, I had a chance to learn about the atomic bombing and see several pictures of it. Now I know what happened in 1945. I think some people here/outside of Japan realize it as well.
I don't blame people born outside of Japan who have never known/learned about the effects of the atomic bombing. I want to ask you to learn and understand what happened under that iconic mushroom cloud before you make a meme with it. If you think 'So what?' after that, I will have nothing more to say to you.
I've not seen Barbie or Oppenheimer because they are not released here yet. But I feel they are both very interesting. I'm looking forward to watching them. I wish I could have fun watching them without any distractions before going to the theatres.
Don't get me wrong. I know that during World War II the Japanese government did tons of terrible things to people outside and inside of Japan. I just want people to know that atomic bombing is a very serious issue, and using the images of the mushroom cloud as a meme/design is like using a symbol of the Nazi/KKK as a fun meme. It's not fun. Atomic bombing should never happen anywhere in the world.

Me 2 years ago: i love the bonds the demigods share with each other & some with Radagon/Godfrey/Rennala, but it’s kinda sad no one seems to be particularly insane about Marika :(
Fromsoft pre-heating Messmer in the oven: hey-
Tumblr media
this image has changed the trajectory of my life
like, it might not be apparent before but i've never been normal about Marika for one bit... so a demigod with a whole ass giant statue of her cradling a baby in his boss room (also, that's the most LOVING depiction of Marika so far in the entire game) + the first one to outright calling her Mother ?? M A N
also all the “unwanted child” thing is pure fan speculation so far. no one in canon is saying he's unwanted. yes he carries all the symbols that are against the Erdtree but have you considered ...... they are trophies ....... of all the forces he had slayed to protect his Mother ...... how about that .........
EDIT to add that the throne he’s sitting on in the poster is actually also in the boss room, it’s just tiny af against the gigantic Marika statue behind it.
Tumblr media
What’s his deal that is so insane … just a lil guy chilling in front of a colossal statue of his mom cradling baby him

This blade was signed by Yamato no Kami Fujiwara Nobusada (大和守藤原宣貞), who was especially active in Higo province (today’s Kumamoto prefecture) during the Kan-Ei era (1624-1644: Early Edo period). He is known as an offspring of the Enjyu (延寿) school members. The maker’s name, Nobusada, lasted two generations, and the first-gen created this blade because the second-gen was active during the Genroku era (1680-1709). It is said that the first-gen Nobusada also forged blades in Buzen (today’s Oita prefecture). He served Higo Hosokawa clan as an Okakaekaji. Hosokawa clan was a famous feudal lord who was the head of Kumamoto castle during the Edo period. Considering this fact, we presume Nobusada’s craftsmanship was highly acknowledged, and he must have forged blades for those who served this clan during the early Edo period. During his career, he received an honorable official title, Yamato no Kami for his excellent sword-forging techniques from the imperial court. The sword mountings of this Katana’s Koshirae are related to one motif: Tonbo (蜻蛉, dragonfly). Dragonflies have been inhabited in Japan for a long time. As this insect bag preys quickly, its heroic figure was sometimes the object of belief. During the Warring States period, the dragonfly was called the Kachimushi (勝ち虫, winning insect) because of its fearless character. Dragonflies fly around fast to catch pests, moving only forward, not backward. Therefore, people thought the behaviors of this insect showed the spirit of Futaiten (不退転); it is a state of mind or a state in which a person has some conviction and does not give in to difficulties. It is very persuasive that Samurai warriors cherished this design as an auspicious motif because of the spirit that Samurai should be prepared for the battlefields.

APOC Survival Katana with Hidden Kozuka Knife – Designed by Angus Trim
The A.P.O.C. Katana is an all-business tactical Katana designed for maximum usability, practicality and lethality and this version has an additional hidden-blade Kozuka knife which serves as an excellent utility knife and a backup close-quarters self defense tool – it slides and slots into its own pocket on the scabbard for concealment and swift removal when needed.
Designed by renowned swordsmith Angus Trim, the clean lines of this katana emphasize decisive cutting coupled with robust construction; the spine of the blade is thick and strong and in profile the blade has an elongated, chisel-like geometry designed to give it a long cutting plane – this is a blade built to cut, hack, stab and slice with authority. The blade is constructed from 9260 high carbon steel and is finished with a Black Oxide coating to minimize maintenance and maximize stealth.
The thickened tang is very wide for optimum hilt durability; the grip scale slabs are both simple and sturdy G10 Fiberglass laminate which is triple anchored into the tang. The grip design is flush with the tang and has no notable hard edges so as to prevent blisters and lesions on the hands from extended field use. A hooked notch at the base of the blade prevents the hands from sliding onto the blade during a strike. A pre-drilled lanyard hole accommodates your own lanyard or hanging loop. The sword comes with a tactical sheath of fiberglass with MOLLE system-compatible hanging slots. Two knobs in the sheath lock onto matching indents on the the sword to secure it into the scabbard when sheathed.
The Kozuka Knife has a sharp and slender blade crafted from High Speed Steel to ensure that it has a high level of edge retention and hardness. This type of  tool steel is often used for applications where durability is paramount, such as for saw blades and drill bits and it finds great utility in this Kozuka utility knife. The knife has full tang construction with a handle of G10 riveted to the tang for a tough and lasting construction.
