To follow up on the past few days, a sign from a rice shop! With seal script and a Japanese-specific punctuation mark. But first, the name: 森田屋米店 Rice Shop Moritaya.
The surname 森田 is read Morita or rarely Morida. It's made up of 森 forest and 田 rice field.
As a suffix, 屋 [や] refers to a business, occupation, shop, or dealer/seller of something.
米店 [こめみせ] means rice shop (though I think the term I hear more often is 米屋 [こめや]).
Okay! Now for the interesting part: the white-on-black calligraphy up top. First, the seal script for 森 forest is super rad! The three trees look like little dancing men.
Second, the four dots in a diamond shape! This an alternative way of representing the punctuation mark ※, which functions like an asterisk. It comes from the character 米, so its name is 米印 [こめじるし], literally "rice mark."

The Shugaku-in Imperial Villa is located at the foothills of the Higashiyama Mountains and has a breathtaking view of Mount Hiei. The gardening method is called "Shakkei", or borrowed landscape.
