For the ask game what I really want to know is more about the 'every other pregnancy fic for these two is wrong' thing! But if that's too broad, I'd be interested in anything you'd like to say about chapter 22 of the shadow of war ❤️

Most fics with Alina & the Darkling that involve a pregnancy (even ones I really like! and I've read a number of great ones) start with Alina realizing she is pregnant, and then she either decides to run away, or hide it, or eventually tell him. And I just fundamentally disbelieve that this is how it would start, at all.

One thing we know about each of them is that Alina is extremely unobservant and Aleks watches her obsessively – friends, there is zero chance that she realizes she's pregnant before he does. Like, ZERO. You can make an argument that if it's hundreds of years later, etc etc etc but it's not like he's watching her less closely, and sure she's more in tune with her body than she was when she managed to ignore that she was the flipping sun summoner for a decade but you're not going to convince me that our girl is like, on top of things. Oh she's tired lately? She's not summoning enough. She's feeling nauseated all the time? She's summoning too much, or it's the herring, or or or. Sankta Alina: Sol Koroleva and Queen of Excuses.

Separately even from whether this is how it would happen or not (reasonable people can disagree and I respect that, even if in my heart of hearts I know I'm right), the in-character drama potential of this way is so! much! higher!! There are endless ways the Darkling could be insane about it before Alina even knows.

All I'm saying is: I keep waiting for this, and haven't seen it yet, and every time I am shocked that other people didn't all naturally arrive at my very specific head canon lol. If I've missed a fic that has this though please please link me I am desperate to read someone else's take on this

Would you ever write a complete setting AU (the Gerudo and Hylian royal families as warring companies, Zelda IN SPAAAACE etc)?

yes like a million trillion times yes especially to both of those. would love to do some gerudo worldbuilding and establish a whole monarchy for them i think that would be so cool and fun to do. i would make ganondorf a major major character and delve so deep into him!!!

as for space, if i were to write that it would be heavily heavily inspired by dune. im lowkey obsessed with dune rn and think the political intrigue and religion (ESPECIALLY the religion) aspects would work super well in a zelda space au.

i def tend to write more in the in-game universe so i would love to branch out into a complete setting AU! (and might have to do the space one now.... sounds too cool to not) thanks for the ask!!

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

I can't tell you what a relief it was to realize I was going to have to narrow it down to one from three when I wasn't sure I'd have an answer at all! I'm going with Take a Chance On Me for a couple reasons. It's one written for a bingo where I came up with the idea on my own rather than having to rely on someone else. And one that I actually wrote twice because I had ideas for two different endgame ships. I wrote out Stoncy first but kept being sad I hadn't gone with Stancy and realized finally that I could just. Go back and fix it for myself, even if it meant fewer people would be interested in reading it.

Last song - the last song that was playing from my driving playlist on the way home from work was I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston!

Favorite colors - blue and purple! I'm slowly decorating my newish apartment and it's a struggle not to make blue the color theme of EVERY room, loool. I like what I like!

Currently watching - I'm a Dropout devotee (Dimension 20 especially) and I'm currently waiting on The Bear s3, Severance s2, and Arcane s2! And I keep meaning to pick up Interview with the Vampire.

Spicy/savory/sweet - I have a huuuge sweet tooth, haha. The idea of "too sweet" is foreign to me! Gimme all the syrups and toppings and flavors. (But I do also really enjoy rich savory flavors as well! Spice I am unfortunately not great with both from a tolerance standpoint and from a "I have severe GERD" standpoint, lmao.)

Relationship status - single!

Current obsessions - I watched "I Saw The TV Glow" earlier this week and haven't stopped thinking about it since! It's sooo good.

The sun soldiers began to die. 

The first perished only a few years after bringing down the Fold; within the decade, more than half of them were gone. Corporalki examiners said the power had burned them up, from the inside out — the opposite of how power strengthened Grisha. Almost as if they were using merzost. 

Many of them stopped summoning. Though it slowed the decay, within two decades they would all be gone.

The sun soldiers may have been burning out, but by the time Zoya’s crew had found St. Feliks' heart, it was clear that Alina wasn't aging. Zoya saw the first signs of wear in Mal's face as they stood together near the thornwood; Nikolai had gotten crow's feet the year before. Alina, though — she'd never been beautiful the way Zoya was, but despite the years, despite her lack of power, her face was as young and radiant as it had been when she’d been a Saint. When she met Zoya’s gaze, the expression on Alina’s face said that she, too, knew the terrible truth. Alina gave a grim smile when Zoya failed to conceal her shock — if she was being honest with herself, though, Zoya had suspected as much for years. 

When they brought the Darkling out of the tree, it had taken him only moments to recover, for the wild of his eyes to calm, for his heart rate (something Zoya now kept tabs on for the people around her out of habit, dragon's eye and are we not all things) to slow. For him to straighten and nod at her and Alina in turn before walking away. It wasn't a thank you and it wasn't a goodbye — more of an we all did what we had to and a farewell for now. 

If Zoya was being honest with herself — well. That wasn’t something she was ready to be honest with herself about. Not yet.

Thanks for the tag @squibstress! My current WIP is from Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Li Lianhua/Di Feisheng time travel.

"I want you," Di Feisheng said colorlessly. "I have wanted you from the day I first saw you. I wanted you when you lanced a sword through my chest and I wanted you when you poisoned me with Asura Grass and when I thought you showed up to mock me in Jiao Liqiao's torture chamber. I wanted you during every moment you made me believe you were dead." "There's no need to rub salt in all these old wounds," Li Lianhua said, flopping onto the ground to lay on his back. He sounded exhausted and miserable. It wasn't very often Di Feisheng spoke from his heart like that, without restraint or embarrassment. He looked away from Li Lianhua into the fire and wondered why it was that he never knew how to make this man understand him.

He held his hand out to hers, steeling himself for a different reason. She would either kill him here or take his hand and pull the sword with him. She would either fulfill the Yiga duty she had dedicated her life to, made constant excuses for, or she would be with the sorry partner who dragged her down at every turn, blocked her sight at every corner. She had destinies to choose. And wordlessly, she placed her glowing hand into his. By Ganon it burned, but he gripped it harder and pulled her in close to the sword, and he felt like he belonged somewhere for once, in her grasp. Their conjoined hands found their place on the handle and the sword seemed to scream, piercing their ears, as they pulled it from its stone. And it spoke again. “I have waited for eternities.”

A Peach Like You - parkner 73k - sequel to a 16k coming of age one-shot in Harley's POV. This one is Peter's POV and he's autistic, overworked, and overwhelmed and this is the very worst time ever for falling in love so he's absolutely not going to do that... on purpose.

The Distance Between (You and Me) - parkner 29k - bodyguard au! Harley was kidnapped and rescued but his kidnappers are still out there so Tony begs an old friend to keep an eye on him until Natasha hunts them down.

Sometimes? I've gotten really bad about it :( After an update/new fic I try to get all the comments that come in over a week or so... but then I retreat into my cave and giggle and squee over them in private.

Hmm I don't really do angst and especially not endings... but maybe The Devil is a Hopeless Romantic? I wouldn't call it an angsty ending though. Maybe bittersweet? Idk it's been awhile since I've read it. Not my favorite tbh

Happy endings are my bread and butter lol The happiest? Uhhh

I haven't written a crossover since I was writing for spn and none of them ever made it out of my wips folder lol I had spn crossovers with Firefly, Teen Wolf, The 100, Criminal Minds, and (naturally) The Hunger Games. Man, I miss that. Such a versatile show.

oof umm probably Peaches Ain't Pretty (the alluded to 16k Harley POV coming of age one-shot). Taught me I could write outside of fanfic if I wanted. It's actually the foundational inspiration that lead to Red, like my bleeding heart in your hand. Opened up the whole beach (if I'm brave enough to leave the sandbox). Anyway it's got a special spot in my heart. I'm probably due for a re-read tbh.
