Jake Shears goes Instagram-official with hunky boyfriend Jon

Scissor Sisters singer Jake Shears has marked the end of the year by going Instagram official with a new man.

The 45-year-old performer shared four photos to Instagram with the caption, “My favorite thing that happened in 2024.”

That favourite thing is gorgeous London actor and dancer Jon Reynolds.

Jon is currently appearing in the West End debut of The Devil Wears Prada, which stars Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly.

Jon was previously part of the London run of Sunset Boulevard, according to his bio.

He’s also worked as a choreographer, dancer and performer in shows including Kinky Boots, Back To The Future, and Grease, among others.

Jake Shears is the frontman of Scissor Sisters

Jake Shears is of course the frontman of the legendary pop group Scissor Sisters.

Like Jon, Jake spent most of last year based in London, including a role in the stage musical Cabaret as well as other projects.

In October, Jakes Shears and fellow Scissor Sisters bandmates Del Marquis and Babydaddy dropped big news: they were reforming the band, albeit without Ana Matronic, who gave the group her blessing.

The Scissor Sisters are launching their 20th anniversary reunion tour in the UK in May this year.

Jake Shears’ relationship reveal comes after he shared he’d had a bit of trouble meeting guys over in the UK.

“I don’t feel like men check each other out here,” Jake said on the All Out with Jon Dean podcast in September.

“There’s not a lot of just flirting with guys here at all.

“There’s no acknowledgment of one another, even if you’re going to the same gym every day.

“I feel in other cities – New York, LA – people definitely acknowledge each other a little more. They talk to each other, check each other out, flirt, cruise. I don’t see that very much here at all.”

Jake added, “I’m not great on the apps. They don’t really work that well for me, so that’s kind of off the table.

“The bars are kind of gone. The type of gay bars we used to go on a weeknight, that sort of culture is missing now.”

The Scissor Sisters are a dazzling light in this world. Amazing humans, true artists, making NYC and the East Village proud. They trusted me to do three sessions with them, surprising gorgeous sessions they were... These are a few of my faves images, they were hard to pick. Interview ( the big black room set in my studio on Broadway), Blender ( huge pink cyc with a vintage Rolls Royce), and press images for “NIGHT WERK” (in the stinky “Mona’s” on Ave B) Two of them shot at “Bath house studios”, my fave studios in NYC. My son Nomi Star when he was 10 asked, “dad have you ever heard of the Scissor Sisters?, yes young man I have… Well Dad they are my fave band right now. He loves the sisters, discovering them on his own,(my kid is cool). It’s pleasure to dance in the living room “, and explaining what the SS means, a surprise highlight of being a father.
