“Deep in the Hills They Have Homes” by Jaime Foster @jaimefosterart for Women’s History Month March 19th, 6-8pm in the lobby of the Blackstone Hotel! Contact [email protected] with inquiries. . . Jaime Foster is a mixed-media artist and illustrator, currently living just outside of Chicago. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the US as well as internationally. Her photographs and paintings are displayed in private collections, as well as public. "I am interested in the relationship we have with nature and our environment, both positively, negatively and how this effects us on an emotional level. My paintings feed off the fascination I have with Ecopsychology, Conservation and Biodiversity." - Foster The spiritual connection humans have with the natural world is as old as humanity. It’s an integral part of human nature whether we’re consciously aware of it or not. For a start, the natural world provides the vital necessities of life: water, food, and air. But it also provokes awe, wonder and exhilaration that touch our souls in ways we still can’t describe. . . . . #art #abstractart #jaimefoster #etherealart #chicagoart #elephantroomgallery #womenshistorymonth #womeninthearts #chicagocurator #artpopup #blackstonehotel #interiordesign #michiganavenue #southloopchicago #marchinchicago https://www.instagram.com/p/B9VCMT5B5F0/?igshid=12xb4g61tzgqd

A quiet voice immediately pulled Celine out of her daze, jade eyes locking on to a young man with short mousey hair, somewhat tussled as if he just rolled out of bed. He was not someone she had seen before and newcomers to Sunnybrooke were immediate to spot most of the time. But she had never seen him.
"Hi," she greeted softly, hands lowering from her ombre hair to settle on her lap. "Can I help you?" she cooed.
The Walking Dead || OPEN
thexclairvoyant:
Ghosts.
Ghosts everywhere. Not the occasional one by the park. Not the one that would linger around her home. Not even the ones at the cemetery.
They. Were. Everywhere.
The medium sat there in confusion in the middle of the city, taking a seat just outside of the library as her eyes glanced up to see the souls of those who were lost aimlessly wandering throughout the streets with none of the other citizens of Sunnybrooke noticing. Her fingers combed through her semi white hair nervously, picking at the ends as thoughts raced through her mind.
Celine didn’t know how it happened or why but while trying to speak with Marigold with Kara’s help, a door opened. No, opened was too polite. It burst open like flood gates, spirits pouring out into the world of the living as the medium was left pondering how she could help those souls return to the afterlife…if that was even possible.
In the midst of her thoughts, she did not hear the figure approaching her from behind.
Jamie didn’t know why he approached the woman sitting on the bench outside what looked like a library. Something about her just seemed familiar. It was a strange feeling, not quite familiar in the sense that he’d seen her before, but a weird sense that he’d felt her before. He had no idea what that meant or what to make of it, but it was compelling enough for him to step forward and clear his throat a bit awkwardly before giving a quiet, “um, hi?”

Biophilic Experience Precedent - Jaime Foster (Painter)
Jaime Foster’s project titled, ‘Biophilia’ takes an abstract approach to encapturing biophilia within physical paintings.
Jaime states on her personal online portfolio that, “I am interested in the relationship we have wth nature and our environment, both positively, negatively and how this affects us on an emotional level” (Jaime, http://www.boojazz.com/jaimefoster/statement/). Foster’s artistic aims align directly with what I am trying to achieve within the domestic space, her concern with the biophilic experience is evident within both her own narration of her work but is also evident when analysing the works themselves.
“My work taps into our collective subconscious of the deep emotional connection with environment and nature.” (Foster, http://www.boojazz.com/jaimefoster/statement/)
