the volume of trained dissociation that it took for her to hold it together until she reached the secluded area.    sinking onto a worn bench, clutching the edge as if she were about to spill apart as she leaned forward.     one tear.. followed by another as the rigid angle across her shoulders began to collapse.     five years!   five long years fighting the elders for scraps of information. fighting her clansmen. burning bridges, severing connections to what remained of her family.  which was only the portion relating to the hyuga!  but to be met with an equally uncooperative, vast, corrupt system..

"I.. I'm sorry.."  she whispered--    she wept.

toes curl enough to push the wooden sandals into the dirt.  for the first time past the wake of war, hinata found herself confronted with sheer disgust. the wisps of optimism having long lost its wile. there was nothing she could do to create change.  the heiress was.. powerless. the seal was not only embedded in their history, but was soiled in layers of affairs outside of their clan. not only would this cruel division of her people remain, it would be further guarded by those who dare tread her footing.     the konohagakure council went as far as to warn her, if the kunoichi acted any further, they would be forced to revoke her title and ability to serve the village.

an incredibly ruthless tone considering who she was, earning a gasp of those witnessing the meeting.

hello. I think a long while ago, you've done a one shot of a AU of Hinata discovering that Naruto is cheating on her with Sakura and it caused her becoming insecure about her body and appearance I think...I can't seem to find it here...

ooc: I'm not sure that was me! as I don't recall that ever being an AU I entertained. though I did ship those two characters together and never really shipped hinata with naruto ( unless a good naruto approached me - not a common thing ). perhaps it was related to a prompt? memory is a bit fuzzy though. my apologies!

For a moment, she's captivated by the words. Fist pressed to her chest with eyes as wide as the sun overhead. Only to find the silence that followed a tad disheartening. A glance to the side, noting that she seemed to be the only one aware, save for a few squirrels who also found his speech empowering.      "un..  Naruto-kun?"  tone as light as the breeze.

It annoyed the heiress, trusted enough to fall asleep next to her yet acted as if she were about to smoother him the moment he rouse.   “It would be wise to assess the situation a moment before you jump to conclusions.”  

perhaps that was a tad harsh, Hinata’s gaze softens,  “a pillow”..  lifting the jacket so he was able to see for himself.  “I’m running low on herbs for headaches.” In truth, he didn’t look all that well, possibly from the lack of sleep over all? Attention shifting to the ground before lifting to Sasuke’s face.
