Sweet & Savory Shankarpali: Crafted with Jivana’s Ethical Purity
Shankarpali, a beloved Indian snack, is the perfect blend of texture and flavor. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp milk (if needed, for binding)

1/2 tsp Jivana red chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
For Frying:
Oil or ghee (as needed)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
For Sweet Shankarpali:
In a mixing bowl, combine Jivana wheat flour, melted ghee, jaggery powder, and cardamom powder.
Mix well until the jaggery is evenly distributed.
Gradually add water (or milk) and knead into a firm yet pliable dough.
For Savory Shankarpali:
In a separate bowl, mix Jivana wheat flour, melted ghee, sea salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and carom seeds.
Add water gradually and knead into a smooth, non-sticky dough.
Cover both doughs with a damp cloth and let them rest for 20 minutes.
2. Roll and Cut the Shankarpali:
Divide the dough into smaller portions and roll each portion into a thin sheet (about 1/4 inch thick).
Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the rolled dough into diamond or square shapes.
3. Fry the Shankarpali:
Heat oil or ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
Gently slide a few pieces of the cut dough into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
Fry until the Shankarpali turns golden brown and crispy. Flip them occasionally for even cooking.
Remove and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
