no one's going to see this right now but shjksls it's fine. here's a snippet that ended up being way longer than i anticipated (1040 words):

“Jesus, fuck, it’s cold,” Louis whines through his teeth, huddling closer to Harry in hopes of leeching some of his warmth. It’s so cold that he can hardly breathe, shivering helplessly against the brutal wind. It’s absolutely brutal, whipping through the fabric of his coat and chilling him to the bones. “How much longer?” he calls out behind him.

Fletcher, their ferryman, makes no sign as having heard him. Louis can’t even fault him – it’s impossible to hear anything over the howling gales around them. The boat lurches to the side and Louis nearly stumbles, heart leaping into his throat. From the moment Louis saw the rickety old fishing boat back at the docks, he had felt a feeling of dread take root in him. The boat looked like it could fall apart at a moment’s notice and now Louis is trapped on its frail body as they venture across the Bay of Skaill, the sky churning above them like a growing storm.

Oh, because it is a growing storm. Fletcher pointed it out casually to them once they were already ten minutes from shore, and Louis has spent the entirety of their journey unable to forget it. Even more worrying, Louis is pretty sure that if the boat were to tip over right now, he wouldn’t have a chance. He’s practically dead on his feet, exhausted after a long day of nonstop traveling.

It didn’t start out that way, of course. After an almost six hour long train ride from London to Edinburgh followed by an hour and a half flight to Wick John O’Groats airport and then another hour by bus to Thurso, Louis was tired but not terribly so. Except, that was only the beginning.

After spending a couple hours walking around Thurso and enjoying the scenery, they boarded the ferry in Scrabster and enjoyed a ninety minute ride across the Pentland Firth to Stromland. They weren’t the only people on the ride, and Harry inevitably struck up a conversation with the couple seated by them. “What’s in Orkney for you two?” the lady had asked curiously. She was British like them, and she and her husband were just along for the tour.

Harry had simply smiled and answered, “Ghosts.”

Flash forward another quick bus ride from Stromness to Skaill, Louis and Harry were met by Fletcher Armstrong who led them on a trek to where his boat, his beloved Queen Ainsley, was docked at the southern curve of the bay. He was hired specially to ferry them across to the north where their destination lies. It is not a location that can be reached from the mainland, their client had said. I’ll send a boat for you myself.

When Louis heard that, he had thought nothing of it. Blaine Macgregor, the man who reached out to their agency a month back about this case, was undoubtedly wealthy and important. That’s the type of person who inherits a literal castle, after all – potential hauntedness aside. When he said the words, “I’ll send a boat for you myself,” out loud, Louis had shaken his head in disbelief. Rich people, for fuck’s sake. They sounded ridiculous. Still, he felt assured that they’d have a safe method of transportation to their destination. In fact, he had even pictured a nice little boat ride in which he’d hold hands with his perfect boyfriend and enjoy the sights.

Instead, it feels like he’s standing on the vessel of hell. Destination: death.

The arm around his shoulders pulls him closer to a body. Harry says something that breaks Louis from his stupor, but the exact words get lost in the raging wind just like everything else.

Louis cranes his head up, staring at his boyfriend in confusion. “What?”

Harry repeats himself, practically shouting out loud. His nose is bright red from the cold, hair an absolute tangled mess. Yet somehow he manages to still look attractive – it’d probably piss Louis off if he wasn’t madly in love with him. This time the only thing Louis is able to catch from his attempt is ‘you’ and ‘okay?’ but it’s enough to piece together the question.

“I’m just dandy, thanks,” he yells back, voice raw from the effort but also the numbing cold. Of course, right as he says it, the boat lurches violently again. He nearly goes crashing over the side of the boat, gripping Harry’s arm for dear life. “Except for the part where we’re actually going to die,” he shouts through his teeth. It’s absolutely mind-boggling to him how Venus is managing to sleep through this journey of terror, but she is indeed napping peacefully in the carrier Louis has clutched painfully tight in his arms, oblivious to his panicking. 

“What?” Harry shouts, clearly not hearing him.

“Forget it,” Louis screeches, squeezing his eyes shut. Oh how he wishes he could portal to places he’s never been. He thinks of the castle he spent an embarrassing amount of time scoping out on Google Earth. It’s not the first time he’s been invited to stay in one for a case, but there’s something about Verron Castle and all its mysteries that has him completely enchanted.

“Lou, look,” Harry yells over the wind then, a bit of awe registering in his voice.

Louis turns to follow his gaze, squinting his eyes through what seems to be a vast sea of grey. His breath catches in his throat. Glimpses of stone are all he sees at first, then a tower emerges from the fog, standing tall and proud in the midst of gloom. It’s followed by more turrets, then stone battlements overgrown with ivy and moss, and then suddenly there it is.

Verron Castle appears like a jewel in the middle of the storm, cradling the edge of the cliffside in all its dreamy glory. It’s massive and magnificent, like a portal to the past standing before his very eyes. It is something out of a storybook, and Louis and Harry are going to spend a month within its grand, gothic walls.

As Louis stares in absolute wonder, he almost forgets that he’s on the boat ride of death. Or, he forgets until the universe remembers that it hates their guts and unleashes a torrent of rain upon their heads.

ahhh omg thank you for sending these in! i’m so sorry for how long it took to get out - i may have forgotten about it shjkskss also i don’t mind talking about all of them but i’m definitely going to keep each one short. you can find them under the cut:

this fic was started initially when i was doing word prompts using curiouscat! people would send me words and i’d write a quick little drabble/snippet... they’re typically around 300-ish words but i got the word “owns,” and maybe got a bit carried away? i think that prompt ended up being 1k words - too long to post using cc so i had to take screenshots and post as separate tweet. 

the idea that came to me was something i love to read in fics: one of them walking in on the other masturbating. i didn’t intend for it to become anything more than that snippet but i what can i say? i got intrigued. my brain helpfully provided a backstory: best friends, harry maybe having feelings for louis but not wanting to ruin their friendship... 

fast-forward three days and i posted an 11k fic shjssks

this was my first attempt at writing a pwp so that was an interesting experience!!! i’m too obsessed with giving backstories and arcs to ever write just pure smut but this is the closest i’ve gotten??? 5.5k/11k being smut, that is. and for once coming up with the title wasn’t too hard because there’s one song i always think of when it comes to best friends to lovers and that’s lucky!! 

i don’t really know what else to say for this one! i remember sarah and i both wrote and posted pwps in a short span of each other so that was fun... she’s actually the one who motivated me to finish and post this fic instead of just letting the idea go. and her dog ended up in the story: chica <3 my absolute favorite <3333

sleeping on our problems ~

welp. this fic was a struggle for a long time. idk if i’ve talked about it on this blog but this fic was initially an exes to lovers fic!!! where they spent harry’s rut together right before breaking up and then louis finds out he’s pregnant and angst ensues. 

changing it to a one-night stand (even though it wasn’t only one night shjksks) ended up being a really good decision in the way that this new version of the story required a lot less angst and reflection of their past relationship, choices, actions!! that first fic was going to be a lot heavier i think shjsks but i really love how it turned out!!

barring the main tropes, the progression of the story and the outline itself changed so. much. in the process of writing... i found an earlier saved version of my outline and the story is almost completely unrecognizable haha. and actually the most recent saved version of the outline is also not 100% accurate to the final story because for the last 10k of the story, i was flying completely free shjsksk. 

also, even after i finished the fic, i went back and added two scenes the next day so it’s safe to say i changed so much of this story -- it was never supposed to be that long either hsjsksk the goal was 48-50k and i thought i was being optimistic!

somewhat in the same vein but also really different: this fic was one of the first fics i ever wrote out of order! before this, i had switched around maybe a couple times when writing a fic but mostly stuck to chronological order. but in this one i kept getting stuck with certain scenes and decided that i’d never reach my goal of finishing unless i switched to parts of the story i had the inspiration to write in the moment instead of getting stuck on one single part i had no motivation for. it really helped the process and i’ve been switching around ever since. 

another thing that really helped me actually finish this fic was the motivation and encouragement of people on twitter and i’m still so appreciative of it now :’) there’s no way i could have finished this fic without the kind words and well wishes of my mutuals!!

(also - i included an easter egg in this fic from another one of my fics... i suppose that’s sort of the type of insight that fits for these things? the ballet louis and harry saw in new york was swan lake <3)

works like a charm ~

ooo i wrote this fic for my friend’s birthday!! she loves hp aus and slytherin hl so it was just a given that i write that for her. i was on a deadline - pretty sure i made the doc on september 4th, aka nine days before i posted - and i hadn’t had my full outline done when i started which is is... let’s just say very uncommon. 

this is another example of me going off outline and changing the story as i went because initially the estimation was about 12k and the basic plot was that after they’d fuck for the first time, they’d immediately talk about the past and resolve those misunderstandings. but when i got to that point, i realized it felt too rushed for how the story was progressing so i extended it a bit and added some more *tension* and *miscommunication* until they finally got their shit together!

also i feel like some would find louis’ blatant lies when interrogated about his feelings for harry to be unrealistic but as someone who has definitely done the exact same thing (lmao - without the happy ending), i find it a definite possibility. and i mean, we all say stuff we don’t mean under pressure - whether it’s to louis’ (and my) extent or not. 

another thing i remember about this fic was having to work out with sarah - who was also posting a fic for this friend’s birthday - posting times and dates. we eventually agreed that she’d post first and i’d post the day after (neither were the actual day of the birthday because we were both running late!) this is a conversation we proceeded to have many other times since we both have made habits of birthday fics and we pretty much have the same friends. 

all of this was also happening in sync with us writing a fic together for our other friend’s birthday which was on the 8th... yes it was exactly as chaotic and stressful as you’re thinking but also fun! and i love all three fics involved!! haha. 

just a flicker in the dark ~

okay this fic is definitely my favorite thing i’ve ever written and i’ve said that before many, many times but it’s true! but it too changed so much from the initial idea to the final end product. 

in fact, the original idea was a 20k somewhat-crack fic where harry was a ghost and louis was the paranormal investigator trying to get him to stop haunting this house. it was just supposed to be a quick and fun halloween fic to work on while finishing up my first blff and finally making head way on my abandoned second blff... obviously, that changed drastically. 

it initially started with me getting the idea of louis and harry being partners and enemies. and then i was thinking... why not throw exes on top of it while we’re there??? that was completely self-indulgent since exes to lovers is my favorite trope of all time. but the idea was still that they were paranormal investigators trying to work a case on a haunted house and though the estimated wc had raised to 35k, i was still hoping that it’d be quick and easy because i had two other projects that needed a lot of my attention. 

then came the first day of october. i woke up after having the craziest dream about louis and harry and the ghost that was not really a ghost. i ended up writing about 7k that thursday and the story really just took shape from there. the first sequence i wrote was actually the scene where louis goes into the backyard and ends up in the pocket dimension where the spirit imprints on him - i think it was a 3.5k scene and it just flew out of me sjksjsk. after that i took a small break to start my outline but it was more of a messy list of ideas and details and things i wanted to include than my usual organized format. the next scene i wrote that day was the scene where louis is in the bedroom and the demon is there but harry is not but then he is (i’m so good at describing things, right?) that’s actually one of my favorite scenes i’ve ever written and the funny thing is that i barely even knew all the details of the demon plot by this point but my hands just kept typing and my brain had the tendrils of the story forming and that amazing feeling that this is something good. 

i could ramble on forever about the process of writing this fic but i’ll just say that it’s the most fun i’ve ever had writing anything ever. word-building and supernatural elements are my favorite and getting to delve into those things here was so much fun! the entire process took twenty-five days (spanning from october 1st to october 28th - with a small three day break to focus on finishing miss wedding au!!) and though i did have some small struggles and moments of writer’s block, for the most part the story just came to me. and it’s so amazing to me because i didn’t even have all the details and facets of the plot until louis did too but it ended up working out??? if anything, it showed his process of figuring things out really well because it was the process of me figuring things out!

also this was the first time i heavily featured a fic pet in a fic and i fell as much in love with venus as everyone else did :’) she has my heart, truly <3 i love this world and these characters so so much and i hope to return to it sometime in the future!

sweet like honey ~

whooo, okay, this fic... yikes. this fic was a capital s Struggle. 

so basically this fic was written for the blff and though it came out first, it was the second prompt i signed up for, prompt 63: Friends to lovers AU where Harry and Louis are best friends and flatmates in Uni and they both need money, Harry for his gym membership and Louis for cute stuff like sanrio plushies, so they decide to film homemade porn videos together. Louis is shy and sweet and maybe inexperienced and Harry kinda doms him.

i remember the exact moment i saw the blff post on tumblr about it being allowed to sign up for another prompt from that point on - i was sitting at the counter at my friend’s ranch’s kitchen eating crepes and browsing on my phone. i saw the post and immediately signed up for this prompt because it had been my second choice and though i love love loved my first prompt so much, i was disappointed at not being able to write this one... but i did!

the idea and basic outline was actually completed way back in july/august but for some reason i just couldn’t make any actual progress on it for so long??? i’m pretty sure the document was stuck at 5k for over three months shsjksks to be fair, i did keep pushing it to the side in favor of other newer fics but i was just experiencing the biggest barrier when it came to this story and characters. 

in fact, i actually reached out to the mods in late october about a potential extension - they informed me that all writers could use a two week extension if needed and i figured that would be fine. however, i didn’t end up using it! within the first few days of november, i managed to pull the wc up to 8k by the skin of my teeth (was still majorly struggling) - i was still sure i’d need an extension but then something really awful but in this case, helpful, happened... 

election week. 

basically, i’m a big stress-writer. writing is what i do when i’m upset or anxious or stressed because it truly is my happy place. i wouldn’t say writing during that week made me feel much better about everything going on but it provided a distraction. so much though that i went from 8k to 24k in the span of a few days... and i have absolutely no recollection of writing any of it. 

not only did i not need any extension, i also somehow ended up finishing early by a few days. and i really liked what i had!! or what i remembered of it anyway shjskks.

one thing i remember really focusing on in terms of these characters and dynamic was having it actually just be them starting as friends and developing feelings later. i feel like a common trope in friends to lovers fics is having one or both of them with pre-existing feelings that they feel is unrequited. obviously there’s nothing wrong with that (i’ve written it myself lol) and it’s a common trope for a reason - because it’s good - but i wanted to try something a little different. them actually filming these videos is what acted as the catalyst to them beginning to view their relationship with new eyes and open the door to the eventual feelings that developed. 

i also had so much fun writing harry’s pov in this one haha. i feel like this version of him was really bold and shameless and super easy for me to develop. 

this is also the closest i’ve ever gotten to meeting my estimation word count... ever. my estimate was 32k and it ended up at 33k!!! and yes i’m more proud of that than i should be lol

ahhh sure!!! gonna do this all under the cut because 1) i ramble and 2) i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who prefers to go into fics completely blind!!

okay so blff first!! my prompt is:

Prompt 82: Rivals/enemies to lovers AU where they’re at a house party or something and Louis is talking shit about harry and he says “I can’t stand Harry Styles.” Harry overheard and he’s drunk, so with a smirk he says “kneel then” and that got Louis’s back to straighten and he turns beet red and starts cursing at Harry for being an insufferable prat. Fast forward three months, Louis is kneeling for Harry and preens every time Harry calls him sweetheart.

i think i talked about it before in another ask but some aspects have changed including the pov!! it used to be harry's pov but the story ended up deciding to be louis' instead </3 essentially, louis is the president of the biggest omega sorority on campus and harry is the president of the biggest alpha fraternity on campus and they're sort of "sibling" organizations?? like they do stuff together like host socials, do fun competitions, and host events to raise money... but louis and harry really do not like each other shjklss they take these competitions really seriously – hence the rivals aspect – and are constantly arguing and bickering about everything at team meetings.

harry's vp, naomi, recently came up with the idea to have a mating cycles database between the two organizations!! and louis is signed up but he never really intends to use it unless he has to. however, the way the database works is that when an alpha/omega requests a partner for their rut/heat, their "application" gets sent to those who haven't already been partnered with someone in the last couple of months and whose "preferences" line up!! so louis gets one one day and is ~intrigued~ sjskls (i know you know where this is going) and even though this isn't really something he does, he ends up going for it and clicking yes. needless to say, he and harry get paired for harry's rut which comes as a shock to louis who believed harry wasn't in the database (the only reason he'd ever be a part of it lol) but yes things evolve from there!! (shout out to jas for coming up with both the initial prompt and the idea of frat/sorority rivals!!)

i'm not going to get *too* detailed on this one because i want it to be a surprise for the most part like jafitd was shjskls but you can read a snippet of it here if you haven't already!! basically, louis and harry are on a case!! and it revolves around this small haunted castle off the coast of scotland (orkney islands) overlooking the bay of skaill which has recently been inherited by a man named blaine macgregor. it involves ghost(s), some treasure hunting (because what is an old castle without secret hidden treasure??), and perhaps an unsolved murder as well... aka very self-indulgent shjsks ofc venus will be accompanying them because she is the real star <3 and the others will probably pop in via facetime or something since it's pretty damn hard to get to this castle.

will also say that there is three new characters that will be involved that i absolutely adore <3 (hint: they are not exactly human shjskls) and some twists and turns because y'all know i love those!!

i’ll also just say that i’m really excited about this one!! it involves a lot of things i love but that are also hard to execute sjksl so hopefully i’ll be able to do it justice! the fact that this fic will also obviously be established relationship in particular is something i’ll be working to execute right!! i’ve written variations of it before – my most recent fic and yesterday came suddenly – but it’s definitely not a trope i normally gravitate towards!! i love some angst and pining <333 and although i don’t plan on creating any relationship issues/drama between hl in this fic to provide that extra excitement (they’ve been through enough already shjskls) i will definitely be compensating for that in other ways...

okay okay let me have a min … collect my thoughts here….. the moment in dli(m)b when louis opens the door and harry is standing there with liam and niall… i’m jafitd where harry runs in the house and saves louis from the demon… in soop during the hockey scene when louis tells harry he wants to try and also when he drops …. in bylap when harry gets upset that louis gets asked out + louis has to use his word but only to be like uhhh ? i love u dude …. in bwk ngl when harry sp*t’s in louis’ mouth 😳… ayf when harry comes back to louis’ apartment and catches him In The Act… in gml when louis wakes up in the hospital from his drop and harry is there and agrees to help him get better and they admit they want This to go somewhere … mlnsif when harry and louis realize they Like each other and decide to dedicate time to being together even tho they’re both so busy… and the sequel when harry is upset bc they haven’t talked about the future even tho it’s obvious they’re gonna be together…. etblp uhhh hello the slide shows 😭 i don’t even have to say more… slh when harry confesses his love in the middle of 😳 … fbab when everything is revealed and the satisfaction of louis getting himself out of that situation and also harry taking care of him when he thought he was losing the baby … wtg is just iconic literally every moment of it, you were so right for writing that adaptation… itsds when they finally get their dream… in ycs when they argue tbh and then once louis is taken and he realizes who harry is…. putp is so close to my heart … when louis is having symptoms at the beach and harry shows up… when he drops… every time he interacts with me (😜) them taking it slowly… it meant so much to me, him being an aspec character ….. i know i’m missing the vampire fic … i should reread it and the one you posted the other day but i still need to read it. you’re so amazing and talented and i reread your fics so much!!!! and they’ve all pretty much made an impact on me! lol love you sm!!

hello! how’s the jafitd sequel going <3 v excited

hi! ahh i'm so happy you're excited!! unfortunately, the sequel is technically *not* going right now sjskls as in, i haven't worked on it in a while :( she is still definitely going to happen (i love this plot and my paranormal investigator bfs way too much to ever abandon it) but probably not this halloween </3 

but maybe not quite as far as next halloween either – who knows, it could be a winter fic! however, i cannot and will not make any promises right now because writing has been a struggleee now that my semester has started and literally everything is up in the air.

WAIT jafitd sequel???? HELLOOO i had no idea whattttt

yes jdjdjf it’s somewhat a new development!! hopefully will be finished in time for halloween this year! i just missed my paranormal investigator boyfriends :’) this one is taking place in scotland and involves ghost(s), treasure hunting, and a bit of a murder mystery too 😏 aka all the good stuff. it’s also going to be dual pov!! i just want to write from this harry’s perspective so fucking bad sjjdjf

this is also 100% self-indulgent if you couldn’t tell sjjdkd i just love these characters and this universe so much! :)

6. What point of view do you tend to write in? Do all of your pieces use the same POV? Do you have strong opinions on the POV used in novels?

i always, always write in third-person – usually third-person limited. occasionally i'll slip another pov for some scenes just because i think it adds to the story but mostly, i like the limited perception!! all my fics are third-person but i do switch between louis' pov and harry's pov pretty equally. as in, it's a conscious effort to keep the number of fics with each of their povs equal shjsk right now i'm one behind on harry's pov so expect at least two fics with that by the end of the year <3 as for strong opinions on pov used in novels, i'd definitely say i prefer to read third-person above all but sometimes first-person is the better choice for the story. i've also read some stuff in second-person that has been done well but that one is definitely risky!

13. What traits do you share with your characters or what traits do you wish you shared with them?

ahh i definitely share a lot of traits with my characters jskls probably because i unconsciously project so many of my emotions and feelings onto characters all the time. some examples of traits i definitely share are: being stubborn, being unable to acknowledge or address emotions, being shy or nervous around people, being ambitious, family-oriented, insecure, sarcastic/dry, stressed and overwhelmed (lol), etc.

some traits i wish i shared... i wish i had louis and harry's bravery in fics like jafitd and/or ycs. i wish i had harry's self-confidence from a lot of my fics too (or louis' from etblp). that sure would be nice. wish i had both of their drive from mlnsif shjksls i used to have it but i'm burnt out </3 that's what comes to mind!!

17. Are your protagonists always the “good guys” and your antagonists always the “bad guys” or do you like to do anti-heroes and grey morality?

ooo i'd say most of my fics don't really incorporate a 'good vs evil' sort of dynamic. the only ones with distinct "villains" are my swan lake au and tangled au which are both retellings of pretty standard fairy tales (although: harry is a thief in tangled au so shjsks perhaps there's some gray morality there?? i still think he's pretty good tho!!) so i would say those versions of hl do fit that cliche good guy role. and in contrast, i have ycs where harry is literally an assassin who kills people – definitely not the typical moral hero lol. i think i explored the grayness of his character a bit but it definitely wasn't the full focus of the story. i still think he's pretty easy to root for too <3 (also– there is a "villain" in that story but i think he's interesting in that... he's not so different from harry in many ways. just the motivation behind his actions are what differentiates him and perhaps makes him antagonistic).

i definitely would like the explore the concept of gray morality more in the future – i know my xmen-esque au will have some of them (which is exciting <3) and also perhaps the marvel one too considering harry's background!! i find the concept of morality really interesting especially since it’s influenced by so many different factors.

hiii I've been reading your stories since friday and what a joy they've been bringing me! your "just a flicker in the dark" is just the right fic for upcoming spooky season, and I will be honest, reading it at night gave me chills! i was genuinely scared by the story and so consumed by it, i didn't sleep till morning! the plot is amazing and keeps you on the edge of the seat waiting to see what comes next. thank you for sharing it with us, louis the witch is endearing and he had my heart instantly 🖤

e: if you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?

oooo okay hmmm... i’m going to do a couple shjksks first is just a flicker in the dark which is still my favorite thing i’ve ever written... the sequel would probably focus on another particularly complicated case that louis and harry are assigned to tackle together. it’d be fun to have the story take place somewhere other than england like maybe ireland/scotland - fun to research for too!! especially by incorporating some local folk-tales/mythology. 

i can’t write established relationship without some angst/conflict so there’d probably be some of that - not sure exactly what yet. one idea would be related to louis’ tendency to dive really deep into a case with little regard for his own safety at times and harry’s paranoia of something happening to him that’s lingered on since the events of jafitd... not sure though. maybe there’s something about this particular house that is affecting louis’ magic and causing harm to him. it’d be really cool to focus on harry’s abilities a bit more in this one too!! 

anyways, there’d definitely be a mystery and lots of sleuthing, magic, the Team <3, and venus <33333 she’s the star, after all. 

another one that is technically already happening is a sequel to feeling borrowed, always blue which is another one of my personal favorites. i’m not 100% sure what format this is going to end up being but it’s definitely going to include unconventional elements like letters/notes/etc. from harry’s perspective, giving some insight into what the past few years were like for him along with what the events of the story were like from his perspective. and of course, things that take place after including them figuring out how to be a couple again, nora being born and harry adopting her officially :’) and them getting married!! 

other than these, there’s not really any other fic that i could actually see a sequel for... i like the way most of their stories/arcs resolved and couldn’t see myself extending them.

prev anon made me ask this: what is ur favourite headcanon out of all ur fics?

omg i don’t even know-- i plan way too much of their lives post-story so it’s hard to choose just which one but maybe jafitd or bwk just because i feel the most proud/happy for those characters!! 

in before we knew, pretty sure i didn’t say it anywhere on tumblr but:

they move in together and louis finally finishes his first novel. he doesn’t end up publishing that one but it gives him the confidence and courage to write more stories and eventually get them published! harry continues to find success in cases (and some losses but he gets through this with the help of his lovely soumate <3) and he slowly works through his internalized feelings about soulmates and love because obviously it doesn’t just go away. 

there’ll be times when he and louis are fighting where he wonders: is this proof soulmates are flawed? that it won’t work out for us? but they do work out and harry continues to choose louis time and time again, regardless of what the universe has set out for them. 

they adopt snowball (ofc <3) and they’re really happy! 

also niall finally meets his soulmate when he goes to visit harry and louis at their flat - turns out she’s the new neighbor that recently moved in next door and louis&harry are very smug to have unintentionally brought niall to his happy ending dhjdk
