jadorefilm answered your post: hi guys! so i’m applying for a well so...
they both seem to be films you give glowing praise to. i’d recommend putting in two reviews, one of a film you liked, and one of a film you didn’t.
that’s a really good idea, i really don’t know why i didn’t think of that before lmao. the stress is so evidently getting to me. thanks! <33

The Birdman review is better. Just fix a few grammatical issues and it’s golden.
thank you so much! :D i was having the best gut feeling about the birdman one as well – also mainly because it’s a fairly recent review whereas the gravity one is super old lmao.

i wanted to personally respond to everyone who replied to my follow forever announcement message from last night but i thought it'd be easier to just make a text post instead. i tend to spend a lot of my free time here on this website for the last... four years (wow has it really been four years????) and i figured it was finally time to make a list of those who i greatly admire. honestly, you all are so wonderful and deserve to be on everyone's follow forever! 2014 kinda sucked for me tbh but you have no idea, seeing you all on my dash every day made my day(s). your replies made me smile so hard when i read them today omg (and i'm so glad i was able to do the same for you as well). i have a good feeling about this new year and i wanted to let you all know that you deserve the very best. good luck in everything you all do this year, i know you will be great :)

"enjoyable but so disappointing" - yep, that's exactly how i'd describe god help the girl. it could have been better. it should have been.
I didn't know about "Belle & Sebastian", neither was hyped for the movie. I just watch it because of the cast and the general vibes!
And I found great performances/characters and a good directing style! But it was so boring, like the story gets slow and slow and does not fit so well and at some point I wasn't interested at all, but stills being an enjoyable movie somehow.

11: A movie that you hate from a director you loveI’ve always loved Tim Burton’s work, but for some reason I ended up hating Sleepy Hollow. I’ve considered re-watching it, but I haven’t gotten myself to do it yet. Also, The Village by M. Night Shyamalan… just no.
19: A movie you want everyone to know aboutDefinitely Castaway on the Moon! :D It’s such a Korean feelgood film that is funny, quirky and original. I recommend it to everyone!
30: Favorite movie ending? The first movies that pop into my head are The Usual Suspects and Se7en.

hey, just want to let you know that you can't tag things that haven't happened in the show yet as 'got spoilers'. like, even things that are happening on the show in a few hours aren't got spoilers, they're asoiaf spoilers. this time tomorrow, "patricide" will be a got spoiler, but for now it's book-only material. i've already been spoiled a few times this week due to people making this mistake. i don't mind too much, but a lot of people do. so i just though i'd remind you!
Gotcha, sorry about that, dear. My blog definitely isn’t spoiler free though, so be wary of following me because there are times when I forget to tag spoilers. Just letting you know cause I don’t wanna spoil anything else for you!

10. A film you love for its aestheticI love so many films because of the aesthetic, but I don’t think I love any film JUST because of the aesthetic, so I can’t really tell. The Fall, Stoker and Moonrise Kingdom are some of my fav movies based on the aesthetic, but I love them because of more reasons.
11. A movie that you hate from a director you loveI’m so sure there are a lot, but I can’t think of any right now. Bernie, by Richard Linklater, I really hated it, so dissapointing and really bored, Jack Black didn’t help.
21. Describe yourself in three films Just three, aaaahh ok i’ll try American Beauty (I'm that weird guy with a camera in another universe, I know), Ghost World (special conection since I studied arts and stuff and feel so identifyed with Enid) and Donnie Darko (because I'm so weird and I really have really fucked up ideas all the time). (and Mean Girls and Young Adult, probably too)

Let's Talk Movies!
7. A movie storyline you wish you had actually lived. I'm still waiting for my Hogwarts letter, to be perfectly frank.
11. Favorite quote(s). Aw man, I hoped I wouldn't get this one because there are probably thousands of quotes I love. I'll go with (an admittedly corny) one from Secondhand Lions, because I always watch that when I'm feeling blue and need a pick-me-up:
Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.
24. A film you wish you had seen on the big screen. Jaws. I have seen it on the big screen, as there's a small, independent theater in my hometown that does midnight movies every weekend, but that's still 25+ years after its been released. But to be there in 1975, when it first came out and was so terrifying, instead of plain 'ole fun, would be a thrill. I feel that way about a lot of horror films actually, like Universal's Dracula or Phantom of the Opera, Freaks, Alien, American Werewolf in London...those movies that were pioneers in (mostly practical) effects that managed to leave you scared and in awe at the same time.
37. Share an unpopular film opinion you have. I hate, hate, hate the mind-numbing excess of CGI in films today. If you have two costumed actors on an entirely green-screened set, talking to little balls on sticks, why not just make an animated movie? Effects should, in general, enhance a film, rather than be its only "redeeming feature". (There are exceptions to this, of course.)
60. Biggest movie pet peeve. Nihilistic endings that serve no purpose or impart no meaning to the previous ninety minutes of film, just to be "trendy" or "edgy". I also only go to movies now when all the retirees do, because I'm sick to death of people talking and being on their phones during a film, but that's more during a movie.
