how does autism affect me? how do i experience life as an autistic person? well, you see, the fallout fandom wiki has a big problem with taking the fallout bible as gospel rather than simply referencing the text of the games.
for example, in fallout 2 there is a character named knight jacob who is only spoken of and never an in game npc. the guy who founded broken hills with marcus and who jacobstown is named after.
the fallout fandom wiki and the fallout bible insist that after establishing broken hills, Jacob leaves to travel on his own; this is not true.
specifically in the dialog of fallout 2 marcus says "while jacob was alive" while referring to him. there is no in game evidence that says jacob ever left broken hills, but there IS evidence that says he died there. the first paragraph in the section of dialog below is where i think chris avellone got confused and the last paragraph clears up the confusion.
Tumblr media
i believe chris misinterpreted the "most just run away" part as jacob running, rather then a general statement about how most people dont have courage or commitment like jacob or the vault dweller did.
this misinterpretion of in game text has been bothering me since the second i noticed it. chris avellone, fallout 2 level designer, why did you do this to me? i realize its a minor detail, but its just not true. here is the only piece of dialog from marcus in new vegas referencing jacob:
Tumblr media
this once again talks about his death rather than a departure. he didnt leave, he was with marcus until he died. chris avellone does NOT understand a warriors bond.
sidebar real quick: i think its gay as hell for two men to wrestle for TWO DAYS straight and then build a community together. maybe chris avellone is homophobic and thats why he lied in his little lore book about jacob leaving forever.
this is how my autism affects me.

and we're back- chapter three! kicking my feet as i read this one, lots of heartbeats in the pink this time around. god i love the looks at the jakobs ancestors, and i think so far maddox might have been my favorite. second part of the chapter confused me. unsure of who were looking at or whos doing the looking. the use of the words patron and proprietor make me think mancubus, but thats just as much me taking a shot in the dark as anything else. xe/his pronouns,,,who are you. wainwright gushing over hammerlock in the letter just to throw it away...my old man yaoi... and then the switch to the SCP formatting, thought not having access to the full conversation between the stranger, poirot, and this esau individual,,,LET ME IN!!! (bangs on glass). google points me to the name of issacs older brother in the bible, and then esau referring to himself as the 'other brother.' im sure this means nothing. and then we catch up to montys death, and weve got GHOSTS! specifically one ghost. the format of the writing stretching like the hallway is such a nice touch, the steadiness that the manor treats maddox with in the start of the chapter vs the bitterness it has for monty is soooo,,, having trouble sitting down and focusing today, but its a really good read!
Yes, the one with wack pronouns is Mancubus Bloodtooth. The one doing the looking is Borderlands's canonical sentient location.
You may have misread the Esau thing. Isaac is his father in the Bible. His brother is named Jacob.
Jakobs Estate definitely looks like it's haunted out the ass. And this isn't the last time you'll be seeing a ghost in this fic.

hey! i saw somewhere where u said u call urself a christian, so i got a question for u about shifting if thats okay!
So, i wanna shift to a reality where im dating two people. would that be a sin? it wouldnt be like bad intimate stuff more like cute stuff. i just wanna be loved by more than one person, cuz of some personal reasons, but would that be a sin?
have a good day!!
also, its xmas when im writing this, so if you celebrate, merry christmas!
hiii!! merry late christmas!! sorry for getting to this three days late. i have no idea what i was doing or thinking to be honest.
anyways, i don’t think it’s a sin. i mean in the bible men had multiple wives, so i wouldn’t be able to see why that’s wrong.
i mean i know some christian’s say “marriages should be monogamous” but like, on the other hand jacob had multiple wives — leah and rachel. i mean i know divorce also want like accepted back then, but that’s besides the point.
i’m also doing research on this and in timothy 3:2 (and a few other scriptures) the bible says it is prohibited for church leaders.
so what i get from this is as long as you’re not a church leader you’re good!!! but it all depends on your interpretation.
in my eyes, i would say it’s fine. but I am NOT God, Jesus nor the Holy Spirit, so I would suggest using your own discretion and understanding to decide if you think it is a sin or not.
this is a similar take on homosexuality. the original bible says “no man should sleep with a boy”, which is different from a man sleeping with a man. and the “homosexuality is a sin” verse WAS added into the bible.
like i m gay, i don’t think that’s a sin. it’s different from person to person.
overall it is your choice what to think. i love you! and i hope this helps :)

the book of enoch, while considered apocryphal is referenced in the new testament by the apostles and i want to say jesus himself but i could be wrong about that, what that tells us at the very least, is that it was around at least that long and considered to be at least somewhat authoratative. its actually a bit of a wonder why it wasnt included in the canon until you read it and understand what its about.
everyone who even begins to read the bible is fascinated with the nephelim because so few words are said about them but what little that is there is intriguing. they were giants, mighty men of old, men of reknown, a product of the breeding of the daughters of men with the fallen angels. so awful and violent were they, that it is the nephalim that prompted the flood so the world would be rid of them. occasionally one of their gigantic offspring pops up later in the narrative like goliath but thats all.
the book of enoch expands greatly on these fallen angels and the nephelim, they taught mankind everything from metalurgy to animal husbandry to jewelry making, but they were deeply wicked and not they slept with the sons of man creating evil violent offspring. the neanderthals were not stupid, they were as intelligent or more than modern humans, according to modern science, they used tools, had culture, etc.
the story of adam and eve, cain and abel, jacob and edom, and more, all more or less deal with the same repeating theme in the bible of the descendancy of two lines, the god breathed adamic line, and the satanic one of cain and many more, including edom, usurping the line of adam from within and attempting to subplant it. one more thing, i might already have mentioned this, but everyone knows edom, unlike jacob, had red hair and they make a big deal out of this, but there were lots of biblical red heads. what made edom unique was he was covered in red hair like an wooly garment even on the backs of his hands. he was COVERED IN HAIR LIKE AN WOOLY GARMENT, so inhumanly hairy was esau that jacob when decieving isaac in order to steal edoms birthright, wore an animal skin over his own skin so when his dad touched him he would think he was his brother. let me put that in another way, in order to make his dad think he was his brother, jacob covered his SMOOTH HUMAN SKIN with an ANIMALS HAIRY HIDE and his dad blind as he was touched a dead animals furry carcass and went "oh if it isnt my totally human son edom, bless you!"

man jacob was a funny story.. of the bible
i think it was like jacobs dad was dying and jacob was less problematic than his brother but esau was hairier...jacob was a twink. and so he put like goat skins on his face to trick his blind father who i THINK was isaac into giving him his birthright...idk what a birthright is i guess like his inheritance jacobs mom who was rebecca i believe maybe wanted him to have it cuz she liked him more than esau esau was a dick but he was older. esau was a BRUTE. a downright ogre. so he did that and esau was mad probably idk what happened. at some point jacobs brothers trolled him and put him in a hole. lol and then other stuff happened. and jacob had a coat that was magic i guess it was a bunch of different colors. maybe that was the birthright? dunno. but he had a dream he saw angels going up and down a ladder idk what this has to do with anything but its cool i have weird dreams and hallucinations like that too i usually dont kno what they mean either but its fun. then i think maybe he went to egypt and got a job as a sooth sayer for the pharaoh or some such

You know what would be f**ck up,if the irreparable of Jacob and Esau was their tainted but role reverse,Jacob control by Angel, hunting his brother for not being a "son of god" because esau take the place of Jacob in the return to the real world(being ironic since bible Jacob take Esau birthright by pretending being he).
((yeah!!!! thats kinda what ive been thinking!))
((imagine, esau's been stewing on his murder ever since he started believing satan's lies, so when the time comes for jacob to leave he just...pulls him away from the door, or tricks him somehow to not leave. jacob is now trapped in the basement while esau lives again.))
((obv the realization of what esau has done hits him and hits him hard years later. esau tries to shake off the influence the devil had on him by going to church, but his prayers always seem to go unanswered. while he hates it he probably slips back into having a demonic influence again, just not from satan. i learned the other day that in the haggadah samael is esau's guardian angel so maybe i'll make samael the receiver of his prayers.))
((in some faiths the archangel uriel is ascended jacob. uriel's already in the game though, so i imagine jacob holds a torch in reference to him. i'm thinking he would look like a proper cherub (uriel's choir) or have a light behind him so bright he's unrecognizable.))
((you took my life, now i'll take yours. the cycle will never cease with these two.))

Hey so,, the Bible states that Eating burgers is a sin Women speaking in church is a sin Wearing blended fabric is a sin Eating SHRIMP is talked about more in the Bible as a sin than homisexuality is Women wearing pants is a sin Writing in your Bible or defacing it in any way is a sin Do some research on your own religion if you're going to preach it
Thank you for asking, I love this opportunity to help bring understanding to commands such as these. Thank you for your patience, lets get to it.
I can understand the overwhelming presence that is Gods word. Its a big book full of a lot of things that take a lot of cross referencing on occasion. After all, it is just one continuous story of God who was and is and always will be.
Warning, there's a lot.
Anyway there is a simple answer to all of those and it starts all the way back at Abraham. Some quick condensed history. God chose Abraham to establish the Hebrew/Jewish people. He faithfully followed Gods commands, and Isaac was born from his faithfulness and for Gods promise. A promise that Abraham’s offspring would cover the earth.
Isaac then had Esau and Jacob. Jacob then had 12 sons, Joseph the youngest was used to bring the Israelite people to Egypt. Where the Egyptians turned them into slaves.
Now enter Moses. God used this man to bring them out of Egypt and towards the promise land. This is where God starts to establish what would set his chosen people apart from the rest of the world. The old laws were there for their faithful obedience and for outsiders to know “thats an Israelite”.
The entirety of the OT speaks of Gods character, plans for salvation, and absolute authority. The laws are a reflection of that as well.
so now we have the group of laws God had Moses establish.
Now Jesus fulfilled the OT law.
Matthew 5:17-20 (Jesus speaking)
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least vin the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great vin the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Part of that fulfillment was the laws on food. Food was used to represent Holiness/ cleanliness. Everything about them had to be clean (their bodies, their homes, their sacrifices, etc.) Blemish free.
The Pharisees had twisted the laws to become legalistic and strict. An example would be here
Mark 7:14-23 (Jesus speaking)
14 And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”[e]17 And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?”[f] (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Food isn't what makes us unclean anymore, but rather the condition of our heart.
There is also a lot of debate over Acts 10:9-16
But I believe this passage has a double meaning. God is reminding Peter that he does not need to be legalistic to be “clean” anymore. Therefore the laws for food were fulfilled. This is reflected in his interpretation of the vision in verses 27-29.
Remember there was clean food and unclean food. Same for people. You weren't to associate with “unclean people”. Jesus fulfilled this law by opening the path to God to everyone, not just Jews. God gave the great commission to go out into all the world to everyone to preach the good news. This meant that anyone now had direct access to God, and the Jews no longer had to go through the extra steps to seek forgiveness. Salvation is within everyone's grasp, no matter what.
The command for blended fabric fits with these as well.
Deuteronomy 22:9-11
“You shall not sow your vine yard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole yield be forfeited, the crop that you have sown and the yield of the vineyard. You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together. You shall not wear cloth of wool and linen mixed together.
By reading this we see the pattern that God is commanding that things that are different should be kept separate. Again we need context of the time.
Pagans in the area believed that by mixing things together they would achieve “magical” results. So God made this law to set them apart from them. He reaffirms this command, even going as far as to say not to let cattle bread with different cattle, in Leviticus 19:19.
In todays context, what sets us apart from others is our internal change that is projected outward. We become lights for God, and show Him through our change. Of course none of us are perfect, and if we aren't careful it can quickly become fake and legalistic.
We can wear blended fabric because Jesus fulfilled this law.
Next keeping with our fabric theme, clothing. This verse comes from Deuteronomy as well, so I will just put the link for both here.
Deuteronomy 22:5
“A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is utterly repulsive to the Lord your God.”
Some pretty strong language right there, but it's important to acknowledge why. We are sinners. God set very clear laws on what was and wasn't allowed. Remember that was to set His people apart, and to test their faithfulness.
Historically at the time men and women dressed very similarly. There were cultural ways used to discern between genders and that is what this verse is talking about here. Men did not wear pants when this law was written (at least not by the Jewish people) so why would it be a sin for women to wear pants today? It simply isn't. (Just because human men decided to use the bible to push their weird sexist agenda via mistranslation, does not mean this is what this verse intended.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To apply it to a modern setting, it would be “why are you wearing what you are? How do you want people to perceive you? What is your heart behind wearing these clothes?”
So really this is another verse directly tied to transgendered identity sin, again a pagan tradition at the time.
ALL SIN is repulsive to the Lord. (The Hebrew word used in this verse is found all throughout the OT, with various uses.) Yes God established the laws, but He also established the sacrificial system for His people as well. He loved them, loved us, and gave them a way to atone for their sins and find forgiveness from God.
But the sacrifice of animals could only go so far. That is why Jesus came to be the final sacrifice. The Lamb of Salvation for us. He willingly gave His life for us, just as we can willingly continue to sin against Him, or willingly give our lives to Him.
Jesus fulfilled the laws and abolished the need for the sacrificial system.
OK this one has no verse in the bible that God commands us to not write in our bibles. None. Unless I’m just having trouble finding it, it's not a thing.
The sin is changing the words, as some translations do so you have to be very careful about which ones you use.
I got a book from the library years ago that was like a devotional for teen girls. In the book it had a verse from Psalms that sounded weird to me and when I compared the translation to my ESV, it had removed the part about God's faithfulness and love. Took it right out. That is a huge problem!
I know that translating the Hebrew and Greek to English is very difficult, especially given how the Greek had multiple words for love alone, and many other words. However, the languages are not so vastly different that you make changes like that without a prideful agenda. Good translations that I use, ESV, NASB, AMP for study purposes. As well as NKJV if you like a classic. I’m constantly comparing translations, and looking at original texts to get a feeling for what words were used.
I encourage you to note your bible. Mark what speaks to you, the blessings, the commands, the warnings. Every time God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are mentioned, where verses intersect. Note everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For some of our brothers and sisters around the world they may only have a few pages to pass between each other, or are able to have His full word and treasure God's words dearly and keep everything they can close. They want to remember it all, and remember what they learn. And God wants that for us.
No writing in your bible is not a sin. Changing the words or removing them is a sin.
Ok now onto your “woman can’t speak in church” debate. 1 Corinthians 14. But because of everything I’m about to get into, this answer will be longer than the others. Feel free to stop here and come back. I know I’ve already written a lot.
First we need to look at the history of the city of Corinth, as when Paul wrote his letters, each one was tailored to the church in question and addressed their strengths and weaknesses.
The city of Corinth was a trade city set in a key location for sailors from all over the world. Its citizens were from all over the world, though mostly Roman, Greek, Jewish, and even a considerable amount of Italians. Because there was such a mix of cultures, there were a mix of religions.
The largest of these being the worship of the false goddess aphrodite. Sexual actions were common with her “temple” and prostitution was a rampant issue with the city. We have two sins of sexual nature and idol worship already. Within the church itself there were reports of incest, infighting, and drunkenness during services being reported as well.
Acts 10:1-23 is Paul's first visit to Corinth where he helped found the church. A family close to Paul and in the Corinthian church wrote to Paul with their concerns for how the church was conducting themselves. The 1 Corinthians letter (book) was written in response.
The church was a blend of Jews and Gentiles. So practices such as the aforementioned were common practice within the city and the Gentiles were at a loss for how to conduct themselves because these things were common during the worship of false gods.
Becoming Christ-like is a beautifully long process. It's not over night, no matter how much we wish it was. These people were still human and loved Christ but still knew very little about Him, and God the Father. (even some of the Jews had a lot of misconceptions they had to change)
So at the very beginning of his letter, Paul reminds them of their new identity. (1:1-9) and reaffirms their forgiveness through Gods grace and faithfulness to our salvation. Nothing we do after we accept His gift can revoke it. It is ours for all time for one time.
Woman and men were traditionally seated separately in synagogues so it makes sense that practice was still used in some new churches, such as that of the Corinthians, as they did have Jewish members.
He is calling out woman for calling to their husbands during sermons and being disruptive. Paul is asking that they save their question for after. He is also teaching woman new to these practices, gentiles, how to be respectfully in the church.
Paul encouraged woman to pray and praise in the church, chapter 11. So it would be contradictory for Paul to then turn around and say “woman can’t speak in church” in chapter 14.
To answer, yes woman can speak in church, but not teach to a body of men. Women can teach women, but women can’t teach men. God established a order of command.
God
Jesus
Men
Woman
Children
Following this upward, everyone is under authority of the role’s above them. That is how God designed the family unit, and in turn the church. The church is the body of Christ, and each of us have a purpose within his body for it function. Woman have a time and place to teach, and lead, but not to men.
I am only addressing the command pertaining to women at this time. I would love to do an in-depth look at all of 1 Corinthians, there is so much to it. Really, thank you for the opportunity to study these passages deeper, and teach them to you. I hope I did, I hope these make sense now.
I do need to add. When comparing these commands to the command of homosexuality, its important to remember the context. Homosexuality is a sin because it goes against Gods very direct design for mankind, how the family unit functions in direct relation to the church. These other ones however were established for a period of time to set the people apart from outsiders, and do not go against His intended purpose for creation. That is a very big difference.
Feel free to ask anything else, I loved doing this. I will try to get something for all of 1 Corinthians out, but I have a full life at the moment, so it will probably take awhile.
Praying and God bless

Chapter 5: The Sermon
As they quietly rode together in the truck Joseph seemed pre-occupied with his bible reading to himself and his fingers gently caressing the prayer beads carefully wrapped around his wrist. Elora spaced out as her brain started to wonder… Was Rook going to come back for her? Any of them? Did they… truly just… abandon her?
Elora’s petite knuckles clenched up and looked like the knuckle would bust through. She gritted her teeth keeping a straight face. It was John who brought her back to her senses.
“My dear… Its rude to ignore someone speaking to you.” He cooed and gently picked his hand up to brush a strand of stray brown lock from her face.
“I… oh… um…” Elora stammered as her cheeks glowed a rosie pink. She batted her beautiful lashes at him and chewed on her plush pink lower lip.
“What were you saying John…? My apologies.”
“Ill let it slide this time doll. Next time Ill have to punish you.” He purred and ran his thumb over her knuckle when Joseph shot him a look.
“Behave John.. God is watching and testing us.” John was already making the ‘blah blah’ hand behind Josephs back childishly which got this adorable giggle from her lips.
“I was saying.. are you going to do the cleansing with us? Join our family?” He inquired and seemed rather eager, before she could speak the truck came to a jolting halt.
“We’re here.” Jacob said gruffly climbing out of the truck. Why was he always so… grumpy?
As they filed out of the vehicle and made their way inside.. All eyes were on her. The sinner that had come with the locusts… But she was a simple lost lamb… Searching for her home.
As they took their stance on the alter Joseph had her stand next to John, and Faith next to Jacob as Joseph took to the podium.
“My children… God has sent us another to love and cherish in our family. She has cast the locust from our garden… She may not be unburdened like us but soon… She will join us in Eden.”
Joseph was so smooth with his words… something about them was… reassuring. John had taken her hand as her body was trembling. His reassuring touch brought her anxiety down and she closed her eyes.
It felt… like forever as people came up and shook her hand. Talking to her and just being so friendly. Joseph stood back smiling watching how happy people were.
“Well… She sure does fit in absolutely perfectly…” Faith chirped excitedly and gently nudged Josephs side.
“Now.. Whats our Faith… without Hope?” He gestured towards Elora. Something about her seemed… hopeful and it was enough to spread like wildfire.
As everyone began to depart they made their way back to the truck. John was leaned up against the door smirking.
“So princess… You gonna take the road to redemption… and say yes?”
John had his face mere inches from hers and she blinked and poked his forehead pushing him backwards. This had Jacob snickering, Joseph sighed pinching his nose.
“What my… childish younger brother means is we have a ceremony of cleansing… Tonight would be a perfect night… if you trust us that is. It is one of many steps of your atonement… and what will allow you to join us in Edens Gate.”
Elora panicked and swallowed the glass threatening to cut her throat. Atleast… thats what it felt like.
“I… I dont… do well… with water.” She whispered softly and took a step back. John had his arm around her and he ruffled her hair.
“Do you think we’re going to drown you..?” That got the response he wanted, pure, unadulterated fear.
“Hey- I didnt mean-“ He was cut off mid sentence as Joseph slapped him upside the head with his book.
“Go sit in the car.” Joseph stated quietly as they left just the two of them alone.
“My child… we would never hurt you… I know you havent told me what happened before but…we would never take your life away… It is precious and part of gods will… He has spoken to me and you are so… very important.” Joseph cupped her face wiping the fearful tears spilling out of her beautiful big grey eyes.
“We love you and will take good care of you… We will show you tonight at the cleansing. I will guide you.” Joseph reassured her before helping her into the truck. He would have Faith handle tonights preparations.

bestie i stg every time i take ur hyyh quiz i get a different character gjhghgj I'm curious (and you don't have to answer this if it would like ruin the quiz or smthng like that but) which characters did you have in mind for the bible stories? to me gethsemane is definitely jin and jacob wrestling the angel is taehyung but the others I can't figure out (and I might be totally off hkhjhjk)
jhgfkjgh yeah lmao, while a lot of other ppl have said in the tags that the results really resonated obviously this is just a silly little quiz!! and we contain multitudes!!! but yes omg i do not mind explaining the bible story question + my reasoning behind them - will put under the cut in case ppl dont want the spoiler tho!
the garden of gethsemane - youre right this is seokjin !! i find it is pretty self explanatory with seokjin having to constantly weigh the worth of his friends' flaws against his own life
samson and delilah - yoongi ! the thing that is so (scream) to me is that ultimately samson knows delilah will betray him and yet he willingly relinquishes to her the secret of his strength. i think in a way this speaks to yoongi and his relationship with jungkook - he knows what jungkook does to him, and how despite everything he tells himself, he is ultimately and decidedly submited to jungkook
the binding of isaac - jungkook and taehyung . ok so . this one is not necessarily based on popular christian interpretation bcs that is not what i was taught it (for a catholic elemetary school we sure were taught through what i hear is a pretty jewish perspective !) i was taught that this story was about zeal, questionning yourself and constantly re-evaluating your relationship with god. jungkook puts his life on the line thinking that is what he must to do feel alive or that it is what he deserves, unable to see past his blinding self-destructive tendencies. seokjin in this case would act as god, horrified and livid at abraham being so quick to destroy a life out of fear. also lamb imagery etc. and if you read the binding of isaac from (from what i understand is!!) a more islamic perspective in which isaac knows full well what is going on and agrees to be sacrificed. thats very hyyhtaehyungcore. in this case seokjin would be abraham who shares his dreams with isaac, and taehyung would be the willing lamb to the slaughter.
ruth and naomi - hoseok. again i feel this one is pretty self explanatory! ruth and naomi's story is one about loyalty and of bonding and remaining resilient through grief together. smt smt hyyh jihope
the fall of eden - jimin !!! smt smt snake imagery smt smt lying smt smt loss of paradise in a garden (arboretum). ever-present and constant "punishment" for that loss. you get it.
jacob wrestling the angel - this one is actually namjoon! same with the demian line in the quiz, which was also referencing this passage. if anyone in hyyh is constantly wrestling with their fate and needs to learn to relinquish it is namjoon . he acts like a nihilist but really he just craves but wont let himself.

(1\2) I don't recall if I saw a post about it in your blog or not, but now when I watch the tlj videos again I realize how Christian it is. For me, seeing all this fuss about hand touching is incredibly Puritan, like, thinking or being intimate is one thing, but you touching is almost "blasphemous", and the "it's the closest thing you'll get to a sex scene" statement just clarifies this to me.
(2/2) Also the foucs on the subject of sin, suffering for your sins and redemption takes such a huge place in the story (Judaism has a different approach to the concept of sin) you can see it in Luke, Kylo, Rey and Leia's story. Not to mention the concept of a "chosen one"/masiah figure...(*caughjesuscaugh*) Hope I didn't rant too much, but these thoughts really bug me... what's you take on it?
I mean ? A lot of the same arguments can be said, then, that its Jewish in nature. But that’s moreover the franchise as a whole.
The heroes of the Star Wars series are members of a “rebel alliance,” basically Maccabees in outer space. It's right there in the name: Jedi. The Hebrew letter yud is often anglicized as a “J,” and syllables occasionally get dropped in translation. Hence, a Biblical name like “Yehoshua” makes its way into English as “Joshua.” It's not much of a stretch to see how “Jedi” can be derived the original Hebrew word for Jew, “Yehudi.”
Remember Luke Skywalker's Jedi rebbe, Grand Master Yoda? Is it just me, or is his peculiar syntax reminiscent of someone whose first language is Yiddish (“Yodish”)? More to the point, his name sounds a lot like “yada,” the Hebrew word meaning “to know.”
When an aspiring Jedi Knight goes to the Academy, he or she must complete what is essentially an apprenticeship with one more learned in Jediism than they are. Similarly, a future rabbi's yeshiva experience will consist largely of chavruta learning (studying with a partner – lit. “friendship”). Fun fact: The name for a young, unmarried yeshiva student, “bochur,” actually means “chosen” (as in “The Chosen People”). The idea of a foretold “Chosen One” who would “restore balance to the Force” was a theme running throughout the Star Wars films, wherein Anakin Skywalker was recognized for his extraordinary potential as a Jedi. As mentioned above, he went “off the derech” and became the villainous Darth Vader. In Return of the Jedi, however, Vader/Skywalker fulfills the “prophecy” when he does teshuvah (our term for repentance, which literally means “return.” Whoa. Return of the Jedi!), thwarting Emperor Palpatine to save his son's life, and ultimately, the galaxy.
Judaism also teaches that the source of Light and Darkness are One and the same, as it says in the prayer book: “Blessed art Thou, Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who forms light and creates darkness, Who makes peace and creates all things.” The source for this line of liturgy can be found in the Hebrew Bible, Isaiah 45:7: “Who forms light and creates darkness, Who makes peace and creates evil; I am the Lord, Who makes all these.”Incidentally, one of the traditional names for God – invoked particularly by the Jewish mystics – is HaMakom, literally “The Place.” The deeper idea conveyed by this name is that the Creator does not exist within the universe; the universe exists within Him. It sounds a lot like
The Force. The key conceptual difference between the fictitious all-uniting Force of Star Wars and the Shechinah or “Divine Presence” is that the former is impersonal and passive, the latter is an omnipotent consciousness that actively intervenes in human history, speaking with Prophets and working miracles until this very day.So if you see the new Star Wars movie, directed by Jeffrey Jacob Abrams (who couldn't sound more Jewish if his name was Saul Cohen or Herschel Rosenblatt), perhaps you'll be able to seek out and appreciate the surprisingly Jewish flavor of the Star Wars universe.
Stephen Spielberg literally called ‘ The force Awakens ‘ a second Bar Mitzvah, and that the last jedi was ‘reformed jediism’ , something of a cultural offset from the actual staunch and pious order from the olden days.
I mean??? Overall, I really DON’T read religious subtext in movies because its really such an interpersonal ordeal ? Like, equating something that’s enjoyed by all to a set of standards thats defined by my OWN religion, feels silly. I get the allegories but more than anything, this sequel trilogy was created by two jewish men, these characters were, and those two men had input into The Last Jedi, whereas they might not have directly written it, ( though one of them did, and JJ still had a lot of say and critique to offer, seeing as its a cohesive story and the idea that one person can rewrite the middle is dumb. its a group project with the ending long ago decided. )
Idk. Answering this got away from me.

Darkest Before Dawn Part 9
Farcry 5 fanfic. Rated M for Mature language and sexual reference. No pairing or plans for smutt.
When you drive into Falls End you stop at the church first, it was a pretty little white church. When you went inside it was just pastor Jerome in there he was sitting in one of the fron pews holding the bible in his lap. You go over and sit next to him.
“May i ask for some religious guidance?” You ask quietly.
“Theres not much i can do these days, but I certainly can do that.” He said warmly.
“I want to protect as many people as i can, and i want to put everything i can into it. But after a encounter i just had with John..” You sigh deeply. “I want to stop them, but i dont know if i can be the one to stop them. Or that i can be there. I hate it. How can i fight to save people if i cant be prepared to... How can i kill my family.” You ask looking at him. “I jumped into this thinking I could do it, but it was like my brain was in shock, because now all i can think of....”
Jerome put his hand on yours and squeezed. “Its no doubt God put you here, to help us. That help, might not be killing your brothers, or help killing them. Maybe you help stop them in a different way. The good lord works in mysterious ways. I have faith in you doing the best that you can do, everyone does. Do what you can.” He said gently.
You nod softly “Thanks pastor, I should get to the bar before Sharky and Hurk decide to go back to the ranch early.”
“You’re doing Gods work deputy. Have as much faith in yourself, as you do with him.”
“You are a gift to this town pastor. When all this is settled i will be at every bake sale and Sunday service. I swear it.” You say with a smile.
“I like lemon squares and pies.”
“Pies, my baking enemy.” You laugh. “I will do it though, thanks.”
Jerome smiled and nodded. “Anytime. You always have a place to come back if you need it.”
You wave goodbye and head over to the spread eagle. There was a pink hue in the sky as the sun started to come up.
“Hey, hey its the deputy! You made the break in record time! I was second guessing my leavibg you for a weeknto!” A drunk Sharky yelled from the bar.
“All right dep! Your pretty bad ass aint cha? Breaking out of Jacobs and Johns places in less than two days. Man, you just like wonder women.” An equally drunk Hurk cheered from beside Sharky.
“Fixed a plane in Johns hanger. Stole said plane from John, turned out it was Nicks, retured plane, came here.” You say as you sit next to them.
“Free beer, free shot!” Mary May said as she laid them out in front of you. “Stealing a plane from John, that’s pretty bad ass.”
“Call me deputy mc bad ass.” You say as you raise your shot glass in a cheers Hurk, Sharky and Mary May raise theirs to and you all take the shot.
“I think its more deputy mc fine ass that specializes in badassery.” Sharky says while raising his beer
“I second that.” Hurk chimed in and raised his beer.
You shrug and raise yours to. “Deputy mc fine ass.” You say Sharky and Hurk chime in to. “You think Sheriff Whitehorse will get me a name tag with that.” Mary May laughed and shook her head no.
“Dep, man your friends must of been so bummed you moved.” Hurk said to you.
“No.” You say as you shake your head. “Im the work twelve hours sleep for a few go back to work type. I hung out and had a few buddies but not good friends.” You chug the rest of your beer.
“Who was it that died?” Mary May asked surprising you a bit she must of saw it because she gave you a smile and nod. “When you spend your life helping people drink their problems away you learn to read the problems. You dont have to answer, i was just curious.” She said warmly.
“His name was Mark, there was an accident, I tried to save him, but he died.” You say with a small smile. “Its why i chose saving lives as my career.”
“To the friends that shape us.” Mary May said as she poured herself and you a shot.
You raise you shot glass and Mary May clinks it with you. “Without fear, there is no courage, without courage, we can have no glory.” You say softly.
“Amen to that!” Mary May agreed.
“So whats the most against the law thing, you have EVER done, deputy?” Sharky asked.
“Well, that would be, setting a church, a school and police station on fire. All in the same 24 hour period.” You say Sharky’s face light up. “With good reason! Though it wasn’t a random spree of setting shit on fire, theres a reason for the madness! The principal and the pastor where exploiting kids, ones that no one would really listen to and believe. And there was a few cops covering what was believed up, so i set the building on fire after i sent everyone involved a letter.” You say as you peel the label off your empty beer bottle. “I found out and i wanted to stop it, so i did it the only way i knew how.” You shrug your shoulders “It was never proven i did it, so we moved to Canada after.”
“Thats bad ass right there.” Sharky said with a nod. “Most of my breaking the law stuff is arson to, but they where mostly accidents. Except for thar one time... That it, uh, wasn’t...”
Hurk started telling his adventures that he had when he traveled and it kind of surprised you that this must be like another Tuesday for him.

oh my god since you've read phantoms and pencil marks (and feel the same way i do about it) i just want to let you know... to me he's no jacob from the bible makes me feel the same way. i get nauseous reading them both they're too good!!!!! so it's crazy that you've read it lol. it's just that same kind of rich inevitable sadness from a dangerous career.
unrelated but wondering if you wrote an f1 fic what would it be?
God this is literally the nicest thing a person has ever said to me....I mean jacob from the bible is no where near as well written and thats OKAY. some things are a process. but thank you so much I'm literally going to live off this one for a year!! My personality flaw is that the fifth time I read phantoms I was like. okay well in pierres position I would have just killed myself by now. Which probably explains a lot about my Connor tbh!!
Also VERY apt timing re: f1 fics because I was actually just discussing this with syd the other day. we have a very specific dynamic reading of george&alex of george as your friends (alex's) boyfriend you'd never independently hang out with but are kind of stuck with now, and it sort of nice because your friend (alex) is likes him but holy shit. discussion of this dynamic somehow dissolved into some bizarre 5+1. that sounds stupid when I write it out like that but it felt exciting when we were writing it text by text. i'll put what i wrote under the cut lmao
I also think a carlando below deck au would be fun but unfortunately I hate lando with every fibre of my being and have never written anything ""fun"" in my life </3 if someone else wrote it i could hate read it tho
“You didn’t—” George clears his throat, “You didn’t like it? It wasn’t, mutual.”
Alex laughs, dropping the sheets in the dryer. There’s probably always going to be a stain on them. He can’t decide whether he should invoice Max or Daniel. Max is probably still embarrassed enough to pay it without making a fuss. Daniel then.
He closes the lid of the dryer, presses start and then turns to face George, already opening his mouth to share the joke.
George isn’t laughing. His jaw is locked so tightly that Alex wants him not to damage his teeth. His lips have drawn together, tight and bloodless like he’s about to be sick. He won’t meet Alex’s eye.
“You’re serious?” Alex says, laughter still trailing helplessly off the end of his words.

March 20
I know Christ has a plan for everything, even if it is not ideally what you want it to be he has his reasons. I have always planned to read the book “How I Became Free from Sin” but i felt like if i read it any other time it would not have had the same effect it did today. The first 2 chapters of already answered all the questions I have had since I attempted to start my journey towards being a better Christian. I have always believe in Christ due to fear of death, I was scared that when the day comes I would not be ready to face God because I have not done enough or if so nothing at all... I was told by my parents and people at church to always repent your sins... but the sins that I commit I really didn’t think they were that bad... I mean there are worst people out there. But then thats where I went wrong. People are selective, we like to believe things that match our way of thinking... but to God all sin is sin no matter if it’s big or small to you... we are all sinners even if we commit even just one sin we consider minor. The only way we can be saved by Jesus is if we admit that we are a sinner. So I wondered... I know I am a selfish sinner but how can I change? I can’t change my nature no matter how much I like to convince myself that the reason I am even reading this book is because I am scared of going to hell... Then the book talked about the story of Jacob and Esau. The book said that Esau was the ideal son, he did everything that the Father wanted him to do... but in the end he was cursed... while Jacob, a very undeserving son got blessed by doing nothing but believe his mother... The book told me a side of the story I never thought of. Esau “looked” like the ideal son, but he depended on his own ways to get to the Father. While Jacob depended on the Mother. The story is basically telling us that there is no way for a sinner to read the bible and in their own method and be worthy of going in front of God. We need to depend on Jesus (the mother) who is willing to take the consequences of our sins on himself to give us a path to the Father. After reading the first 2 chapters i finally understood. I have been depending on myself the last 2 years to get closer to God and I was still so confused what I needed to do when I had the key which was Jesus. Jesus will cover you with his blood and teach you how to be worthy so when the day you do meet God you will be worthy. Jesus does not expect you to do a bunch of things you think would make God happy, he needs you to believe in him and follow his instructions.

Does God Like You?
Wednesday 16th January 2019
Isa. 41:8 – “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.”
Two of the Greek words which the Bible uses to explain love show a clear distinction between loving and liking a person. The first is agapao, which is the kind of love that God has for us. This kind of love is an unrestricted and unconditional love that God extends to all, both saved and unsaved. This God-kind of love is based on nature, of the giver and the receiver. There are no preconditions or criteria, just like the love a mother has for her newborn child. The second is phileo, which is a familial love or friendly love. Phileo is not based on who you are but on what you do. It is phileo that gives rise to friendship and is based on likeability.
A person can be lovable but not likeable. You may love a person for who they are to you, maybe a son, a daughter, a spouse, etc. and yet dislike them for what they do, like smoking, or being rude, or being promiscuous. Loving and liking are mutually exclusive. While loving is based on the nature of the person doing the loving, liking is based on the character and behaviour of the person being liked. Likeability is based on the degree of similarity between the two parties, how well they agree and complement each other. The more two people have in common, the more they think alike, and the more they like each other. This is why two people can be friends without being in love, and two people can be in love without being friends. When the former is the case, a healthy relationship will exist, but if the latter, a toxic one where one will take advantage of the other.
God loves everyone, including the sinner, but He doesn’t like everyone. He loves everyone, and that’s why He sent Jesus to die for the sins of the world. That’s His love, unconditional and free. But the reason He doesn’t like everyone is because of what they do. And even among His children, God loves every single one of them, but He doesn’t call every child of God His friend. Friendship with God is based on how much He likes you, how close you are to Him. God’s love is a free gift to the world, but for God to like you, that would be something special. That happens when your interests and God’s interests are well aligned, and when you are passionate about the things that are on God’s heart. Two can’t walk together unless they are united in heart (Amos 3:3).
This means you can take your intimacy with God to a much deeper dimension, by doing the things that will bring you closer to Him. The Holy Spirit in you is a real person who you can have an intimate relationship with, who is interested in all that’s happening in your life both right now and in the long term. When you are a friend of God, He will reveal things to you that not every other Christian knows. He will open your eyes to see things in the Word, and He will lovingly rule over all aspects of your life. The man God likes is a rare species, one who is willing to do the unusual, go the extra mile to deepen the relationship. This willingness to be closer to God is powered by God Himself, and when you plug into God’s enabling ability, you will discover that every step you take towards Him is matched by His giant stride towards you. So, dear Christian, open yourself up to God, draw closer to Him in the Word and in prayer, because God seeks to have closer intimacy with you. You’re loved by God already, you can be liked by Him as well.
Have a blessed day.
