Moment: April Fools?

Summary: Chan and Seungkwan bring an April Fools idea to Yexi and talk her into participating...she just wasn't expecting everything that followed.

"You should do it." Chan whined.

"You do realize they will actually murder me, right?" Yexi looked between Seungkwan and Chan.

Seungkwan ignored her with a wave of the hand, "You don't think it's fair with how many pranks Jeonghan Hyung pulls?"

Yexi couldn't help but laugh a little, "Those rarely impact me."

Seungkwan shot her a mock glare, "Yes, I know. It's the rest of us that suffer because of you two but just give us this once to turn the tables. He's not going to suspect it's a prank because it's you."

"Look, we even bought a fake pregnancy test that says it's positive." Chan held it up for her to see.

"Are you trying to take Oppa's place as leader by sending him to an early grave?" she asked.

Chan's silent shrug made her huff out a laugh and roll her eyes, "Pleaseeeee." he begged.

Yexi sat and thought about the chaos that would ensue if she did this and she couldn't deny that it would probably be funny, but was the aftermath going to be worth it? She sighed and grabbed the test out of Chan's hand, "You two better be willing to sacrifice yourself if they try to kill me." she threatened.

Seungkwan and Chan gave each other a high five and Yexi watched as the two vibrated in excitement, "Now the question is...do we film it?" Seungkwan said.

Yexi was silently scolding herself for agreeing to this while she was setting up the prank. She sighed looking at the fake pregnancy test before placing it on top of the trash in the bathroom. She ran the water for the sink and washed her hands before stepping back out into the living room. Yexi had talked Mingyu into having everyone over and him cooking for everyone. It was a tight fit for sure but it reminded her of their pre-debut days.

"Princess, come take a shot with me." Joshua was holding up a shot glass and wiggling it. She gave a nervous laugh and squeezed in between him and Seungcheol.

"My stomach is feeling a bit iffy today so I think i'll pass."

She felt Junhui's eyes on her, "What's wrong? You've been acting weird all day." he had his lips pressed into a line.

"I'm fine." she waved off his concern with a flourish of her hand, "Maybe i'm coming down with something."

"Have you taken anything?" Seungcheol asked while putting his hand across her forehead. He dropped his hand once he was satisfied that she didn't have a fever.

Minghao stood up, "I'm heading to the bathroom, anyone need anything while i'm up?" Everyone shook their head so he left and it felt like Yexi's heart was going to beat out of her chest. She was clasping her hands tightly to the point her fingertips were white. It was when she heard the toilet flush that she made eye contact with Seungkwan and Chan, both of which seemed excited.

"WANG JI XINYI!" Minghao's voice bellowed from down the hall.

Yexi did her best to seem indifferent knowing that in order for this prank to succeed she was going to have to tap into the acting lessons she'd been getting at the company. She schooled her face and looked up at Minghao once he entered the living room, "What?"

"Please tell me this isn't real!" he pleaded.

She feigned ignorance, "What are you talking about?"

"What's going on?" Soonyoung asked quickly looking between the two.

"You're pregnant?"

"WHAT!?" Junhui yelled out standing up and looking down at Yexi is disbelief.

Seungcheol tried to interject, "Okay can someone please explain what's happening?"

Minghao ignored Seungcheol and looked at Junhui, "I found a positive test in the trash in the bathroom."

Junhui was looking at Yexi completely devastated and she couldn't help but feel a little guilty but chaos soon followed with Junhui and Minghao shooting question after question at her in Chinese.

"Who's the father?"

"Does the company know?"

"Does Jackson know?"

"Stop yelling at me!" she interjected.

"Is it someone we know? Jaehyun? Jungkook?"

Yexi couldn't help that her eyes went wide at hearing their names. She honestly thought that they would guess someone like Chanyeol since she was back in contact with him so the names of her closest friends were a curveball she wasn't expecting.

"Jaehyun?" Mingyu asked.

"Jungkook?" Seokmin asked.

Seungcheol finally stood up and looked at all three of them, "Someone tell me what the fuck is going on!" he yelled.

Minghao tossed the positive pregnancy test on the table with all the empty soju bottles and shot glasses while never taking his eyes off Yexi, "I found this in the trash can."

Seungcheol reached down and grabbed it from the table to get a better look at whatever Minghao tossed and once he realized what it was his legs gave out and he collapsed on the couch, "God Yexi." his voice wavered sounding absolutely devastated.

Jeonghan grabbed the item from Seungcheol's loose grip and looked at it, "Oh hell." he heaved a heavy sigh and glanced at everyone before looking at Yexi, "A positive pregnancy test." he supplied the other members with the answer they were all waiting for. The eruption of loud voices took over the eerie silence that was previously hanging in the air.

Mingyu snatched the test off the table to take a closer look before handing it off to Junhui's outstretched hand, "Whose is it?" he asked softly and his voice was the one that Yexi's picked up out of the jumble of other voices. Everyone slowly quieted at Mingyu's question.

"Does it matter?"

"Yes it fucking matters!" Seungcheol looked at her in outrage, "Is he an Idol? Does he know? Does the company know? I didn't even know you were dating!"

She looked down at her hands that were folded in her lap, "I'm not."

"How long have you known?" Joshua's soft voice asked.

Yexi avoided eye contact and shrugged, "I mean I thought I might be, but I only took the test today." she mumbled.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Wonwoo asked. She could hear the hurt in his voice and she knew that he was probably wondering why she felt that she couldn't come to him over this.

"Yexi you didn't answer my question." Seungcheol's voice switched from earlier, his deep serious tone had made its arrival.

"Are you asking as my leader or my friend?" She looked over at him.

Seungcheol's hair was sticking every which way due to him running his fingers through it constantly in distress, "Your brother."

"No, he doesn't know and I wouldn't tell the company before I told you guys." she felt Jeonghan's hand slip into hers. She hadn't even realized that her hands were shaking from the anxiety over all of this. She was going to beat the hell out of Chan and Seungkwan when this was all over. She never should have listened to them. Hearing the devastation and disappointment in her members voices was a lot harder to handle than she thought it would be. Her phone ringing made her jump and she paled seeing Jackson's name pop up.

"DID YOU TELL HIM!?" She looked at Junhui but he refused to make eye contact. Just the thought of Junhui sending Jackson a text telling him that she was pregnant was enough to cause her to have a mental breakdown. "Do you know what you've just done? FUCK!" Jackson would actually murder her if he ever found out she was pregnant and now Junhui had to tell him that when it was a prank. She reached over and ignored the call, she knew that it was going to be worse in the long run but she couldn't handle talking to him right now until she handled the chaos that was right in front of her.

"My guess is its Jungkook or Jaehyun, she hasn't been out with anyone else in a while." Chan's attempt at faux whispering was really feeding the fire and not helping in the slightest.

"Chan, Seungkwan, i'm going to murder you for talking me into this." Yexi said in a low voice glaring at the two before looking at Seungcheol. "The two maknae's decided that it would be funny to prank all of you with a fake positive pregnancy test and despite my better judgment I agreed." The two boys winced at her reveal and Chan chuckled hesitantly when he noticed all the members looking at them.

"Uhh. April fools?" Chan said.

Woozi reached over and hit both of them upside the head, "You idiots! Do you realize the heart attack you just gave everyone!?"

Your/Third P.O.V

I sat with the staff behind the cameras as I watched my friends and boyfriend complete their part-time job. I couldn't help but laugh hearing their conversation and the amount of defects they had to fix.

" OK! You've finished off your part-time job!" Momo, the producer shouts feeling worn out and tired herself from all the activities and defect products. The group celebrated and relaxed back into their chairs. Hanbin looked behind the cameras and checked on his girlfriend,making sure she was good and comfortable when his grin rose as he saw her playfully argue with the producers.

"I don't want to go....I'm not good with this stuff." I whispered back scared.

" You'll be fine Y/n. Please? Don't you wanna earn more roses for them?" Momo smiled mischievously. I scoffed and shook my head.

" Ughhh...fine but if I die I'm coming back to haunt you." I pout already feeling the fear consume my body. The two producers laugh and high five before sitting back down. I don't like horror movies. I don't like scary stuff. It's so dark and eerie...I'm not sure I can't do this...but it's fine maybe I'll be teamed with Binnie.

" Did you rest enough?" Jia, the co-producer questions the boys who look at her and Momo flustered. I snickered within my blanket.

" It's been two minutes?" Gyuvin laughed in disbelief.

" No..we just started. "Ricky muttered underneath his breath.

" I don't think so." Jiwoong shakes his head.

" Well do you want earn more roses?" Jia smirked underneath her mask. The guys complain for a moment before finally agreeing.

" I mean I don't want to do anything but I want to earn roses." Hao chuckled tastelessly.

" Good. There's an abandoned school nearby and there's roses growing inside. The ten of you will have to collect roses whiles being tied together by bracelets. If you stay together throughout , we'll give you double the roses you find." MoMo explained calmly.

" No. No. I don't want to go." Yujin shook his head slouching into his chair. I cooed feeling bad for him but I was in the same situation.

" So we're collecting roses from the ghosts?" Gyuvin laughed grabbing Hanbin to hug in comfort.

"Wait, you said ten? Who else is going?" Tae-Rae rose looking at two producers. MoMo and Jia looked at you as you rose your hand hesitantly.

" Noo..my poor baby. She doesn't like this stuff. " Hanbin chuckled teasingly.

" He's right. Y/n-ie doesn't like scary things. " Gunwook laughed.

" Yay! Y/n is going. " Yujin sighed in relief. You sent a playful glare towards him as you stood up. You frowned and crossed your arms.

" I do not." I frowned stepping out from behind the cameras but staying in the shadows.

" OK ok cutie, you don't." Hanbin chuckled making grabby hands at you. I sluggishly walk towards him as he pulls me into his lap. He shifts so both my legs hang of the chair as he wraps an arm around my waist from behind me. He places his other arm lazily over my thighs after he pulls the blanket around us.

" Comfy , princess?" Hanbin asked me as he kissed my cheek. I nodded and flushed not used the cameras and everything. MoMo began explaining the teams and rules.

" 1st. Hao and Yujin. 2nd. Y/n and Gunwook. 3rd. Jiwoong and Hanbin. 4th. Taerae and Matthew. 5th. Ricky and Gyuvin."

"I wanted to go with Y/n." You hear both Yujin and Hanbin whine. Looking between the two, my eyes widened.

" Yujinnie I'm probably more scared than you. I can't protect you." I shake my head. Yujin sighs and slouchs even more.

" Binnie I wanted to go with you as well but I'll be ok. Gunwook will protect me, ok?" I reassure my pouty boyfriend. I place a hand onto his cheek and squeeze it trying to make him smile.

" Yeah, she'll be fine with me Hanbin. She's in good hands." Gunwook laughed placing a hand on Hanbin's shoulder. Your boyfriend forced out a laugh and looked straight at the staff avoiding your eyes. Something is wrong...I won't push him and I'll ask after shooting.

Hanbin pulled me closer as we watched Hao and Yujin get bound together by paper bracelets and suited up with mics and lights.

" Are you ready?" Gyuvin asks Hao who shakes his head.

"You'll be ok, Hao. " I smile sweetly. He nods giving me a 'thumbs up' as I watch Yujin grab a handful of rocks but drop them slowly only leaving one in his hand. Yujin punches the air, mentally preparing himself for what's about to come.

" OK. You guys can go." Jia excuses them and I shift closer to Hanbin.

" Wait! Y/n can I get a hug?" Yujin asks sweetly. I cooed him and stood up with struggle as Hanbin was holding me tightly. I place the blanket onto Hanbin and squeeze Hao and Yujin into a hug. I pull away after a few seconds and pats on the back. I go back to sitting on Hanbin and wait my turn anxiously.

" I feel bad for Yujinnie. " I say into Hanbin's ear. He just nods and squeezes one of my hips. Something is definitely wrong. He is unusually quiet.

It was finally my turn to go into the Haunted School Building. I already felt an eerie feeling. I pecked Hanbin's lips and stood up getting set up by the staff.

" Ready to go Y/n-ie?" Gunwook asked from next me. I shook my head in fear and looked up at my best friend.

" I'm not ready. I'm so scared. I'm gonna die. "I laugh dryly. Gunwook giggles.

" I'm right here with you plus it would be more scary only having 10 Zerose. " Gunwook chuckled. I snorted looking out at the dark path in front of us.

" Gunwook. Take care of my Y/n." Hanbin jokes sternly from behind us. I looked back at Hanbin and he didnt seem like he was joking. Gunwook nods sending a playful salute towards your love.

"Yes sir! She's in good hands." Gunwook jokes back. You chortle and hit Gunwook's arm playfully. MoMo places the paper bracelets on both Gunwook's and my wrist and soon....she sends us off.

I hesitantly follow Gunwook as he drags me towards the dirty pathway. I loop my arm tightly around his and cling closely as we walk through the dark road.

" Wanna sing?" Gunwook asks you knowing it comforts you. He looks down at you and pulls your shaking form closer.

" Y-Yeah." You answer looking around in the darkness. You felt so alert and had goosebumps running down your skin. Before neither of you could start you heard a twig snap behind you and let out a scream turning around with Gunwook's arm clung tightly in your hand.

" Sorry. " The cameraman apologized. You breathed a sigh of relief and placed a hand on your chest trying to calm down.

"Hey its ok. Let's keep going." Gunwook reassured you , patting your hand on his arm.

" It's close to midnight

And something evil's lurking in the dark

You try to scream ~" I side eye Gunwook as I pinch his arm letting go.

" What are you singing? Uh-ah.." I click my tongue as I pace past my giggling best friend. He stifled his laugh as he catches up to you in a few little steps.

"Wait. I-I'm sorry, N/n. There's nothing out there, trust me. I've got you." Gunwook apologized stifling his laughter. I cross my arms and continue walking.

" Promise? Hanbin will kill you if you let anything happen to me." I look up at him with a childish pout. My best friend clears his throat playfully and nods.

" Promise....I'm more scared of you though." He holds out his arm and you cling back to it with a small glare.

" Hey...these woods are dark. It would be real easy to kill and bury you....There's a river down South too. If I bribe the cameraman, to leave and forget everything, you're gone buddy." I snicker evilly. Gunwook tenses up and laughs stifly.

" See...Hanbin is a better choice." He breathed a nervous laugh. The two of you stopped and stared at one another blankly before you both began laughing.

The two of you calmed on the way as you arrived at the abandoned school building. You both read out the rules and were handed a flashlight. You felt eerie and the goosebumps from before had returned. You really didn't want go in. All those moments of laughter from before were long forgotten as you walked towards the entrance.

" Alright. In you go! Your mission ends when you leave at the exit." The cameraman explained as you looked at him nodding trying to prolong staying outside of the scary building. That didn't last long as your tall friend was dragging you towards the entrance. You looked at the cameraman with pleading eyes.

" Dont be afraid. It's OK, I'm right here. "Gunwook whispered fearlessly. You finally looked into hallway and screamed your lungs out as you saw what looked to be the real-life entity of 'The Ring' standing at the end of hall. You immediately ducked behind your friend and clung tightly to his hoodie feeling like your heart was about to burst.

"Bin-Bin...I'm going go die...I love you and all you guys. The staff really took their time with this but I don't like scary stuff. Ugh!"You muttered into Gunwook hoodie trying to hide and push away all your fear. It's fake. It's fake. It's still scary though but who goes to school here. There was only elderly people earlier. Atleast from what I saw.

"You okay? We're barely an arm inside. Remember roses!" Gunwook whispered back rhetorically. You punched his back as he chortles moving forward just slightly still keeping your bracelets together.

"Ugh! Zerose the things you put me through. Please. Please. Not one more scary thing."I huff quietly before standing up properly, only to notice 'The Ring' ghost was gone. Fuxk. Where'd it go?

Meanwhile At the Campsite...

"Hanbin your ears are a little red.."

"You are sooo jealous."

" No I'm not. She's fine....She's ok. Maybe I should've gone but she's fine."

" This a mission to earn roses, remember?"

The 1% Of Chances  | TWICE Jeongyeon x Male Reader: CHAPTER 3

The next day, all of the managers assigned to each member of TWICE, including you, assembled in the dormitory building lobby.

This was your first gathering with your new coworkers, and it was both intriguing and awkward for you to be among these new faces. "Guys, listen up first, we have our new addition on our team here to join us today and so on," Sadness grabbed everyone's attention to her. She placed her hand on your shoulder and silently signaled you to take the turn. "Hello, my name is YN/LN. I'm a newly employed in JYPE and under Division 3 for TWICE's Management Team. I'm also the new personal manager for TWICE's Jeongyeon. I hope we can get along pretty well." you bowed softly at them. The other managers nodded and clapped as your introduction with their faces plastered with awe and gladness for you. "Nice to meet you, YN. Welcome to the family!" they all exclaimed at once before walking forward one by one to welcome you and introduce themselves. "Perfect. Jihyo just chatted me. They're about to come here," Sadness said, peering at her phone she'd been holding since before all of you walked in here.

After a few minutes of waiting and engaging in some small conversation to bond with your coworkers, the elevator doors opened, revealing all TWICE members, with the leader herself, Jihyo, leading the way.

You all enthusiastically welcomed your respective members before they returned the favor with a warm smile and the same message. As you took Jeongyeon's handbag and paper bag from JYP, the 6 other members noticed your unfamiliar presence, which piqued their interest in you. They already assumed you were Jeongyeon's new manager based on how quickly you approached the idol entrusted to you, but they also wanted to learn more about you as a person... They did the same thing as their other managers, whom they initially met in prior years. They all boarded the first black van, while the management team boarded the second, and both drove straight to the JYP Entertainment headquarters.

Placing the car on one of the vacant spots of the parking lot, all hopped out before everyone entered the place, being greeted by the kind lady receptionists.

Through groups, all of you took the elevator to reach the 5th floor which is where the Michael Jackson Dance Practice Room is located. This is where TWICE is also scheduled to have their dance choreography today for their upcoming comeback.

As the other managers stepped out to go somewhere around the place first while TWICE is preparing to do warm ups, Sadness and Jeongyeon both noticed that the rest of the members keeps on stealing glances at the newbie which is you.

Jeongyeon walked towards you and grasped your arm. "We're complete this time, you can meet the other members now."

"They've been wondering about you already since the ride, YN. Go on.", Sadness encouraged you.

You nodded minimally before Jeongyeon shouted at the girls, her loud voice echoing around the room which effectively had their heads turned at the source of it.

"Oppa here has to say something for yall to listen guys.", Jeongyeon said as she pointed at you. Their pair of eyes are now landed at you, which makes you a bit shy knowing that you're literally about to talk in front of MORE THAN ONE WORLDWIDE-FAMOUS IDOL this time.

It feels like a dream it is to step in the center of a room you thought you will never ever got a chance to be in it, standing along with people that you never even expected to meet them not only personally... but very closely.

No other fans for them to see, just you all alone; waiting for you to speak and to learn who you are not just as a ONCE, but to serve another purpose for them too.

"Hello everyone, I'm YN/LN. I am a newly hired personal manager for Jeongyeon here. It's really an honor to meet and to work with such very talented and highly popular members of one of the biggest girl groups ever existed in K-Pop industry. I hope we can get along really smooth together as how I can definitely can say for me on what I can do also for you girls.", you bowed respectfully at them.

Mina and Jihyo just smiled widely at your good introduction that's probably better than what they got yesterday while the others especially Chaeyoung who is known with her very expressive self, gasping at what they heard from you.

"U-uhh sure, I don't really have a problem with it's just... I'm not completely processed the fact that I'm working with you girls and this company.", you chuckled sheepishly.

"I'm still in disbelief, you know. Now i'm here again, on the second day of my work; just got spoiled by your new song and the next one is me about to eat with you girls in one table."

Jeongyeon giggled at your dreamy look. "It's fine, YN. You'll get used to it someday. But you know, I would like it more if... you'll get along with us not just as a fanboy but just as being yourself you know.

Let's set aside the music, the industry, work. Everything. Just us, having close connections to one another like what friend's typically have between."

You nodded, agreeing at Jeongyeon's point. "That's my intention, Jeong. I don't want those to be the only thing that revolves around us. I would rather live a life with you girls just minding our own happiness and how related we are on many other things than that."

Jeongyeon smiled, relieved at what you admitted. "We're even then. Let's go, Momo's probably whining now below because they're ain't allow to eat yet while we're still not joining them.", she gestured you to follow her and you did, placing back your tablet at your bag.

Entering the JYPE's famous eco-friendly, cozy and healthy cafeteria; you saw the 8 other members talking at each other before they got interrupted with you and Jeongyeon's apperance.

Momo who's always excited to eat, sighed in gratefulness that both of you still had a plan to include yourselves in their group lunch.

All of you prayed with Dahyun leading it, sending thanks to God for having a  delicious and healthy meal for today before everyone began devouring each other's foods.

During the whole lunch, each of them urged you to start a conversation with them, setting a beginning of constructing a strong and closer bond of friendship with every single one of them.

JYP and Sadness noona didn't lied. They sure are keeping their real personality even when the cameras are all filming and recording them for their projects, news, interviews etc.

What you learned from them when you were once doing a research about each members after you newly stanned TWICE in your early days of being a ONCE was the same as what you experienced to them while talking with them.

Nayeon being the most hyper, teasing target of Jeongyeon and Tzuyu and the member who gets easily sulk and grumpy whenever they do that. That was the reason why she was given the nickname "granny" not only because she's the oldest of the group.

She even proposed a collab with you just to help her get protected from the teasing she's getting from her bestfriend and her little maknae, which Chaeyoung agreed at that idea and yes you all witnessed it in your own eyes... and it surely had you found it funny and cute.

And as for other members, you also observed some new qualities of them too that you never able to figured it out when you were once watching them only from everywhere.

Momo surely does eats a lot and it makes her really quiet when food is in front of her. She barely even spoken throughout the whole break. Just one curious question from you and she's done.

She did laughed and reacted with them tho, but that's where she can only do already when she still has a yummy food to beat first.

Sana is undoubtedly the most bubbly. She laughs a lot. A LOT. And her small girl voice whenever she unleashes such an adorable sound like that easily makes you also share the same mood as her.

Jihyo is the most matured one but she also joins not only with the flow of Nayeon and Jeongyeon's crazy doings but as for the other members too; with her intention to guard and monitor them just in case things won't go well.

She's like a mother who's managing to keep her kids entertained while at the same time to maintain their well controlled and stable state, hence that's why the leader position was given to her.

Mina is surely the most silent one. If Momo can't speak because of her food... well, that's only because she has something that is distracting her, unlike Mina... it's already a part of her personality along with being such a gentle and elegant lady. Maybe she didn't like speaking that much only if it's needed, you guessed.

Dahyun is the one who spits out some jokes or random funny moments she experienced, Chaeyoung being protective over her Nayeon unnie as she tries to lure away the member that's disturbing her big sister which is Jeongyeon and Tzuyu being... Tzuyu. You were stiffling a laughter whenever you see Tzuyu rolling her eyes and twitching her face in disgust or weirdness at her unnies' antics, like for example... Nayeon's aegyos.

But the precious thing about Tzuyu is that even though she may be acting as the tough, matured, and serious girl; her weakness and soft spot will always be her unnies' loving and caring treatment for their one and only giant baby of their group.

Ofcourse, how could you forget also the last but not the least.

Jeongyeon is well... you don't even need to confirm your speculations because you already saw the glimpse of who she really is in real life yesterday. She's so entertaining and fun to be with.

They were right, it feels very different and lacking if one of them are absent on having a special moment like this.

It was once occurred from Mina's hiatus back from 2019... and this time you were very sure that it was the same as Jeongyeon's absence in 2020 because you are right here with them to realize it. It feels so good and a glorious sight to see them complete.

It makes you feel thankful to the Gods that despite all of these challenges, it won't prevent them still from tearing apart. They will remain as 9 and complete as long as they want.

It's definitely their fate to be together forever, because they're not just a k-pop group anymore... this right here, is a family.

Your time with them really went smooth and a lot of fun, enough to energize yourself to become active through the rest of the day in your duty.

TWICE will always be your rest and your source of happiness and peace indeed, you said to yourself.

Nighttime struck by and it's been hours since they've been practicing really hard for their choreo, finally it's been officially wrapped up by their dance instructor as they did the final repeat of the whole song very clean.

All of us clapped in respect and impressiveness for TWICE's hardwork and being the humble and kind idols they are, they bowed and chanted thankful greetings for us too while joining also the wave of applause roaming the room.

"S-sorry... I-I just wanted to try waking someone back up from reality in a different way.", she said in between her laughter that has been slowing down in disapperance atleast.

"You're crazy Jeong.", you clicked your tongue and ruffled her hair which caused a groan and a pout from her.

"Okay stop stop I'm sorryyy!.", she said, begging you to stop it. She presented a grin again on you.

"You've been staring at Mina's back of her seat for I don't know how long, you got any problems occupying your mind?", Jeongyeon asked, sincerely asking you like as a true friend she is.

"Ahh, is that so?", you innocently said. "It's nothing, still the same as what we talked before we joined the girls at the cafeteria. I can't help it, Jeong. I'm sorry. It's very surreal, you know?

I can't believe I'm literally friends now with the people I've been idolizing a lot and wishing so bad I could meet people like them, and it was all granted for me... yet it literally brought you all guys in my life also as the people i'm referring to instead.

You saw Mina and Jihyo who's holding the elevator door open from the distance smirking and squinting their eyes interestingly at the sight of you and Jeongyeon hugging together.

Thankfully, Jeongyeon released her hug immediately as she waved one last goodbye off you before she walked back to her members in the elevator.

You waited for them to close the door and reach their floor. When they did, you returned back in your dorm bringing a blush and fluttering heart from your idol's gesture.

“Why am I here?” Aurora mumbles to herself as she looks around at the crowd of people jamming to Bruno Mars as he plays Treasure. Aurora only knew three of his songs. It was impossible not to when you’re in a group with Mark and Haechan. The maknae was practically dragged out of the AG to attend the show with her oppa’s. They had played the r&b artists’ music the entire way to Jamsil. 

The only thing that made it worthwhile was recording Haechan’s reactions to the show. Aurora had gotten enough blackmail material for months thanks to Bruno. Lets see Haechan say no to me now she thought. 

An arm wrapped around her shoulders pulling her back into a familiar chest. “Why did you come? Normally you avoid Mark's obsession with Bruno.” Chenle’s voice whispered in her ear. She would have been surprised that Chenle heard her mumbles but thought twice. In most situations, The older was tuned in on the younger's thoughts. 

Honestly she doesn’t even remember agreeing to come. Pop concerts aren’t her scene but rock bands don't normally tour in Korea. Now that she thought about it Why did I agree? 

Then it hit her.

Chenle standing in middle of her doorway, shoulder leaning on the frame looking all effortless gorgeous in a beige tee and purple hair. 

Aurora shook the image out of her mind. She wasn’t going anywhere near those images with a ten-foot pole. At least right now. 

“I–I just figured …...I didn’t have anything else to do. Might as well tag along.” Chenle smirked when Aurora shrugged off his arm. The lights might be low but he still spied a pink blush on the rapper's cheek. 

“Besides…..We’ll likely never see Donghyuckie act like this much of a fanboy unless Michael Jackson comes back from the dead.” Her words made Chenle throw his head back laughing. Aurora chuckled a little. Chenle’s dolphin never failed to make her smile.

Chapter: 15 - Far From Average

"Is your father tall?" Pierce asked.

I nodded.

"He's very tall. I'm not," I added, unnecessarily.

Pierce laughed and I flushed.

I ducked my head down in embarrassment.

"Don't misunderstand me, Jackson," Pierce said around his chuckles.

"I wasn't laughing at you."

I nodded, glancing up at him from beneath my lashes.

I didn't think he was, it was just this entire conversation was kind of embarrassing.

I'd never given my looks much thought.

There had been a few occasions when family from my dad's side, not pleased with his marrying an American woman and moving away, had made the snide comment or two about my lack of eye-popping looks.

It hadn't bothered me much then.

I wasn't sure why it was bothering me a bit now.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm just average," I said, feeling the need to point out the obvious.

In the back of my mind I needed to say this out loud.

Despite my recent discovery that Pierce seemed to be attracted to me, I needed him to take a realistic look now.

I couldn't imagine taking this further to only have him be disappointed in some way by me in the future.

Pierce laughed again and I frowned this time.

Had he taken that second look after all and discovered I was right?

I raised my head and looked at him head on.

The smile lingered on his lips and his eyes dared me to look away from his once they made contact.

"You may not be the stereotypical six-foot Oppa but you're far from average, Jackson. 'Far' from average."

There was heat in his stare, thirst in the eyes that glanced down at my poorly abused lip.

I felt fascinated by his gaze that watched me so fiercely.

It was new to me.

No one had ever looked at me in such a way.

I couldn't look away though I wanted to.

I felt ensnared by the crisp clear gaze that seemed to be compelling me to believe his every word.

Despite myself, I did.

The sudden rapping of knuckles against the wooden door startled us both.

I jolted as Pierce flinched.

We stared at each other a second longer before Pierce suddenly rose to his feet and strode to the door.

He opened it wide and two men entered.

One carried a large tray with a clear lid and the other carried a few bags containing smaller trays and various bottles.

I could smell the scent of fresh baked bread.

My stomach growled.

Hunger had set in.

The various trays were placed on the table in front of me.

The smaller trays and bottles were removed from the bags and displayed strategically around the larger tray containing meats, cheeses and bread.

As they removed the lid the smell of deli became stronger and my stomach grumbled a second time.

I saw Pierce smile and knew he had heard.

Thankfully, he refrained from making any comment.

Once the food was arranged the men walked out leaving us alone once again.

Instead of pursuing our previous conversation Pierce ordered me to dig in.

I figured with my mouth full I could quite possibly survive the rest of this lunch.

Without needing to be asked twice I set about creating a sandwich that had my mouth watering.

I picked up the sandwich with both hands and was about to take a bite when I caught Pierce's fascinated expression.

He wasn't looking at me though.

He was looking at my sandwich.

"What?" I asked, pulling the sandwich back away from my mouth to ask.

"My God. Did you learn to make sandwiches from watching Scooby Doo or something?"

I looked down at the layered food in surprise.

I looked back up at Pierce and his expression, my sandwich and his words succeeding in doing something I seldom ever did.

I laughed.

At first it was a small chuckle that escaped past my lips in a surprising puff.

The second and third followed faster and then faster, the sound stunning me at the unfamiliarity but it didn't stop it.

The chuckles turned to laughter and I smiled back at Pierce with eyes brightened with mirth.

The silliness of the moment and the reference of a child's cartoon by Pierce of all people, tickled me in a way I rarely ever was.

I plopped my sandwich back down on my plate and reached for a napkin to dab at my eyes.

"Was it that funny?" Pierce asked with his half-tilted smile that I was starting to get used to.

"Coming from you," I said.

"Totally."

Pierce gave a bemused scrunch of his face in response.

"I'm not sure if I should be flattered or insulted by that."

I shrugged back in response.

"Take it any way you want," I answered, feeling oddly mischievous.

I quickly grabbed up my sandwich and took a giant bite, to disguise my nervous energy.

I didn't tease, I never teased but right then with Pierce I had wanted to poke instead of run, I had wanted to play instead of work, most of all, I had wanted to keep that smile on his face.

It was an expression I was not only getting used to but was starting to really like.

“sure i would,” hidden sarcasm was second nature when it came to chan’s choice of words. no embarrassing moment flashed in his eyes when he recalled the gala. he did remember the mounts of alcohol they drank, and jackson trying to push the two into saying positive things towards the other, but nothing that would have chan running for the hills. “let’s refrain from saying alcohol too many times or we’ll have a jackson on our hands. we’ll stay sober this time around. we’ll drink, but just enough that we don’t get tipsy. sound fair enough?” chan mostly stated that piece to himself knowing that the alcohol would calm whatever nerves soyeon brought on him. drink just enough that he wouldn’t feel pressured around her but also not too much that she would have to take care of his drunk ass. 

“you alone?” confusion screamed too loud across his face. “have you met you? i’m surprised no one has tried stealing you from me today.” despite the bundled nerves he felt, he also wanted to enjoy whatever time he had alone with her. “you give me too much credit. there’ll be someone far better than me.” words that he believed, but he focused on pulling her up, and did everything in his power to keep his eyes at head level instead of caving to the temptation of glancing down. some blush flashed on his face at hearing the word oppa, and he couldn’t stop the small giggle from slipping out of his plump lips. “that was cute. you have me blushing now.” he hoped that pointing the obvious would take the attention off his red ears. “come on.” forgetting that he had his hand with hers, he began to walk forward, keeping their hands linked as they walked away from the pool area. “do you want to sit by the beach and drink or should we scout a different location around here?”

“Oh god, me either,” Soyeon laughed. “I don’t remember half of the gala, and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. You’d tell me if I did something embarrassing, right? Anyway, I’m good with taking it easy on the alcohol.” Unbeknownst to Chan, Soyeon shared his fear of intoxicated confessions. The feelings she’d once been able to stuff down for the sake of their friendship had come back and slammed into her at full-speed, and now she felt like she was constantly one step away from ruining her friendship with the older. “True, but wherever there’s alcohol, Jackson can’t be far behind.”

“It is a compliment, but it’s also a complaint. I’m going to end up all alone and have to tell my hundred cats, ‘Channie gave me impossibly high standards. No one could ever compare to him’,” she joked, even though she believed the second part to be true. She took his hand then, unable to hide the shy smile that was consuming her face. Chan somehow made the smallest gestures feel grand. That, combined with him offering to ‘treat her right’, had her feeling far too giddy. “Okay, oppa,” Soyeon said without thinking, but as soon as she realized, she blushed. Despite Chan being a little older, the pair had always used casual speech with each other. She couldn’t recall a time when she had actually addressed him with the honorific, until just now that is.

"favorite song to perform? Hmmm...I think falling flower because I love the choreo to it. As for which set lists I like more, I don't really have a preference but I will say it's nice to be able to perform our Japanese songs because we don't get the chance to very often."

"Yesss!" Soyeon cheered and took a sip. Whiskey wasn't usually what she would gravitate towards, but she couldn't really taste it with how drunk she was. She nodded her approval and handed Jackson back his glass. "That's good. I'm getting one of those." She slipped from the chair and went over to the bar, somehow finessing a bottle instead of a glass, and returned victoriously. "Let's fucking gooooo!" She sat back down beside the older and topped off his glass before pouring some for herself in her empty cocktail cup. "Cheers to getting dressed up to get fucked up."

It wouldn’t be a party if Jackson didn’t have a few drinks. An open bar was one of his favorite things, and he made sure to plant himself right next to it, too. One drink turned into two, then five, and now he was much louder than usual. Carrying his conversations across a couple of tables to anybody that would hear him out. “HEY!” Jackson said too loudly, thinking that the background music would drown his voice but the song had ended right when he shouted. “I think this is whiskey!” Unknown to Jackson that the tune finished. “Yeah! I told the guy to serve me anything he wanted, and he gave us this… I think Chan is grabbing.. where did he go?” Confused more than ever, Jackson turned not realizing that he lost sight of Chan. “Oh! There he is! Probably grabbing another one. This is really good. Here” He said, offering Soyeon his glass.
