Learning that Jackson B Baly was right that most people survive being struck by lighting is making me feel like I've fallen into a weird twilight zone reality where he's smart and knows stuff.

Headcanons that I have of the gods in the Percy Jackson universe
Themis (goddess of justice) - basically children and like those blessed by her are like living lie detectors but they can only tell if it is a lie if they hear the person say it (like to their face) and that's why they avoid political rallies
Persephone - Those blessed by her can grow any power they want but they have a pollen allergy
Hermes - his children and those blessed by him are like super fast like flash fast
Khione looks like Elsa
Athena hates the character of Spiderman and would disown her child on the spot if they decided to dress up as Spiderman during Halloween
Hestia is the official marriage counselor for all the Olympians
Zeus wanted to punish Hermes for writing Hamilton
Apollo wishes it was him that wrote Hamilton
Mr D discovered sparkling grape juice (welch sparkling grape juice) and hasn't been the same since then
Hephaestus owns an F1 team (guess which team) and often makes bets with Ares and Hermes on which team would dominate the season
Hades has a monopoly over most of the mines in the world
Hermes once caught one of his children trying to steal a package he delivered, he was confused if he should be proud or angry
Eris thrives on call of duty lobbies
Like Apollo's children, Artemis's hunters glow in the dark but its more of a silvery white glow
Demeter loves modern farming techniques expect pesticides
Poseidon works with Hephaestus to create mega cruise ship, they both split 50/50 in the profits
Ares would like gladiator fights to be a part of the Olympics but human rights
Apollo and Aphrodite would love to be judges on Rupaul's drag race
Hera owns a lot of real estate in New England and her side hustle is being a real estate agent but she found it too tiring so she just started a real estate company instead (idk I picture her to look like Lucy Liu)
Hera tried to open a marriage counseling business
Aphrodite tried to buy the Palace of versailles from Apollo
Hermes owns serval telemarketing companies and has several ponce schemes
During Covid 19 everyone was stressing Apollo and Asclepius (god of medicine) to make a vaccine because season 25 of The Bachelor was rumored to be delayed or canceled
Iris is a major stake holder in most tabloids
Jeff Bezos is just one of Hermes human forms
Poseidon owns several resorts in Bali and the Bahamas

🔎 ABOUT THIS PROJECT
===============================
Coral reefs are known as “the rainforests of the sea”. These vibrantly complex ecosystems harbour the highest biodiversity of any ecosystem globally. An estimated 25% of all marine species depend on reefs. They are also crucial for millions of people, providing food, livelihoods, resources and coastal protection.
Major threats, such as over-exploitation and climate change, are jeopardising the future of coral reefs. In the last few decades, sharp declines in reef cover have occurred worldwide. This is our first coral reef project to restore damaged reefs in the northern waters of Nusa Penida, Indonesia.
Our long-term goal is to improve resilience by enhancing connectivity of fragmented reefs whilst protecting and preserving endangered coral species. Led by our local team of expert divers and marine biologists passionate about the preservation of this marine ecosystem, we work with local people to promote positive community involvement in coral reef restoration.

"Balie Peyton, a racing enthusiast and close friend of Jackson, related an interesting incident which occurred during one of these visits. Peyton, a Congressman, had been to watch some horses take their practice rims. He was in company of a number of politicians including the Vice-President Martin Van Buren.
When Busirus, a big burly horse, began to kick and rear up requiring two men to hold him, Jackson boomed the he could have had the horse broken of such nonsense within an hour. He then proceeded to bombard all the handlers with orders and directions.
When the horse again became unmanageable and dangerous, Jackson shouted to the youthful Van Buren to "get behind me, Mr. Van Buren, they will run over you, sir." The Vice-President, not one to quibble with Jackson, especially over these matters, hastily complied.
Van Buren used to tell this tale to indicate Jackson's fatherly protection and care for him when he was campaigning for the Presidency in 1836."
~ 22 Balie Peyton, "President Jackson's Orders and Reminiscences," in The Rural Sun ( 1873 ), quoted in Anderson, The American Thoroughbred, 245
Geez, everyone just sees Jackson as a papa wolf, don't they?
I can easily imagine Buren fake crying against someone he doesn't want to win. And Jackson makes Buren get behind him while bombarding that someone insults. All the while Buren is just smirking watching the scene unfold.😑😑
But I love these kinds of stories about him!
It shows how nice and caring he was towards his friends 🥰
