Ty Lee
[ image description: a digital drawing of Ty Lee from Avatar: the Last Airbender in my style. She is a light-skinned woman with grey eyes facing the viewer. She is wearing a pink skirt under a gold shirt and red raj pattern jacket, which is embroidered with gold lilies and jasmine. She is holding a white lily in her hands and has a crown of jasmine flowers in her hair. She is standing in front of a brown Fire Nation symbol ]

Aaaaand the final one in this atla throw back, Ty Lee! One of my favourite characters, who I wanted to be as a child, and an absolute delight to draw. The influences and inspiration are under the cut and, for the last time, I remind you that they originally came from Instagram slides I made so they're missing lots of details and nuance:
A Bit of Background:
The Fire Nation is visually and geographically inspired by volcanic islands such as Iceland, Hawaii and Polynesian islands, while the culture of the Fire Nation is primarily inspired by East, South and Southeast Asia, as well as sun-worshipping cultures (such as the Ancient Egyptians and Mesoamericans). For example:
the Confucian concept of ‘filial piety’ (孝顺 or ‘xiao shun’) is central to the Fire Nation too;
the agni kai is a form of honour duel commonly seen in warrior societies of South Asia, and literally translates as ‘Duel of Fire’ or ‘Fire Quarrel’;
the Fire Nation propaganda justifying the war is reminiscent of the Japanese Empire during the Second World War;
the architecture draws on that of Ancient Egypt, different Chinese dynasties, and historic Southeast Asian kingdoms;
the food typically resembles the Sichuan food, particularly in the spiciness and quantities of meat.
Fire Nation Clothing:
The clothing of the Fire Nation draws from many East and Southeast Asian clothing. For example, the armour the military wears has influences from traditional Thai armour, the shoulder pieces the Royal Family wears come from Burmese court wear, the school uniforms are inspired by traditional Thai clothing, and the Royal Family's top knot appear to come from Qin Dynasty China.
The Royal Court are often seen wearing changshan, a traditional clothing of the Han Chinese, although that is not the only influence. For example, Azula's skirt comes from the wraparound trousers worn in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, while Ty Lee and Toph's jewellery comes from the Thai mongkut.
My Design:
Ty Lee's design shows Thai influences, most prominently in the jewellery she wears while performing at the circus. So, I looked at traditional Thai clothing and eventually settled on the raj pattern (ราชปะแตน). Although the raj pattern is traditionally a men's garment, I decided to bend it a little, as I think Ty Lee would really enjoy putting a feminine touch on men's clothing. So, I combined it with the poqun (破裙), a gored Chinese skirt (you can't tell me Ty Lee wouldn't love twirling in a big skirt).
I embellished Ty Lee's clothing with embroidery of lilies and jasmine. I'm Chinese culture, lilies symbolise love, joy, fortune and purity, while jasmine symbolises love and beauty. I think these qualities nicely sum up Ty Lee.

Hello there from the ether!
I'm sure you've been asked this before, so sorry if I'm being annoying...but will you ever be making those cool Gear Station patches again?
I randomly came across them today, and I was wondering if there was such a thing out there (I'm trying to make a baller SUBMAS-themed jacket... >D>). I was excited to see the post yet then bummed to see its 2023 post date haha...
NBD if you don't! Just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. 👍 Cheers!
Since the interest for restocked patches did really well (very surprising to me)! on the last interest check I ran, I'm hoping to include them on the next set of shop preorders in late September/October since it's been a while!
I'm still going back and forth on the idea to make the stock for patches limited since they take me quite a while to do by hand (well, embroidery machine that takes a lot of time to set up, ESPECIALLY the Joltik design having a lot of color switching that takes 25 minutes to do *one*). But for certain I want to have the gear station logo available!
Side not that I'm also considering making the digital pattern for the gear station patch available for a reduced price for those who have embroidery machines and want to make it themselves, but not sure if that would be too niche of a thing to offer... (psst psst, if people are interested and comment so, I shallst consider it more).
#ask hand#primejourney#merch info#also side note#not sure if I'm doing any new designs this year for patches but I would like to attempt at least one

what are your favorite clothing items you've upcycled? i get soo much joy out of modifying clothes to not only last me longer but to be more personal to me + my style
my all-time favorite is still probably the deadpool hoodie I made for my editor.
I took apart a leather jacket I bin dived and used the sleeves from it form 'armor' on the arms of the red hoodie. then, I took a vintage deadpool shirt I had with a really sick print of him in perspective shooting a gun at the viewer and cut him out and sewed him on the middle of the hoodie. after that I embroidered individual bullet holes on the back of the hoodie and then did a headshot on the back of the hood and embroidered a blood splatter bleeding down.
many old women at my studio were HUGE fans of it lol
my favorite of MINE that I'm wearing though is (another)red hoodie that I used a laser machine to cut out cybersigils I drew out onto black thrifted denim. which I then I sewed around the whole thing. it looks a little like a venom corruption.
right now I'm working on a shirt that has a sick mountain print on the front but all of the lettering around it is fading or peeling off. so I sketched out some of the designs i liked on it and then digitized them into the embroidery machine and sewed over the faded parts. then I cut out some shapes in the shirt and I'm going to put some fabric that matches the red thread I used behind it. I am so excited to wear it when it's finished.
thanks for asking! I love talking about upcycling

Two men, both bus drivers, during a break. Both are wearing typical work uniforms, a sweater vest on top of a dress shirt with chinos. One of them is sitting inside the bus, resting over the steering wheel. The other is leaning back on the front of the vehicle, smoking a cigarette. Where the bus number and destination would normally be is the title, “Pętla.”
Two women working as cashiers in the Żabka convenience store. They’re both wearing work uniforms, a green polo t-shirt with the shop name on it. One of the women is leaning over the other, with an arm around her shoulders, clicking something on her cashier screen. The other woman is looking up at her. On the table before then is a plastic baggie with Kaiser rolls inside. The title, “Kod na kajzerkę,” is written above them in loopy text.
Two elderly men, one significantly taller than the other, look at each other over a garden fence. Both are wearing checkered shirts tucked in dress pants, as well as leather caps. The title is written in loopy white text there, reading “Kwitnąca miłość.”
Two men and a woman are sitting together at a diner, the woman feeding one of the men while the other has his arms around the both of them. The poster is framed by trays of typical Polish food, like krokiety, rolled crepes, pierogi, gołąbki, pork chops, and two kinds of soup. The title, “O dwóch takich co ukradli mi serce,” is written above them, on a short curtain.
Two boys wearing tracksuits stand close, one of them raising a white-red-blue scarf to cover their faces as they possibly kiss. Today, it's the quintessential choice for grooms during Indian weddings, symbolizing grace, honor, and a deep connection to cultural roots.
Types of Sherwanis
Diversity is the spice of life, and sherwanis are no exception. Let's delve into the various styles:
Traditional Sherwani: A timeless piece, often crafted from luxurious fabrics like silk or brocade, adorned with intricate embroidery. It exudes an aura of regal elegance, perfect for those who cherish classic aesthetics
Indo-Western Sherwani: This style harmoniously blends Eastern tradition and Western innovation. It introduces contemporary cuts and designs, catering to the modern man seeking a fusion of cultures.
Achkan Sherwani: With its roots tracing back to the Mughal era, the Achkan is a knee-length coat-like garment. It's lighter and often paired with churidars, striking a balance between comfort and sophistication.
Jodhpuri Sherwani: Hailing from Rajasthan's royal lineage, this style features a bandh gala (closed-neck) jacket with a structured silhouette that radiates aristocratic charm.
Selecting Your Perfect Sherwani
Choosing a sherwani is akin to selecting a lifelong partner; it should complement and enhance your persona. Here's what to keep in mind:
Fabric: Opt for materials that resonate with the season and occasion. Silk and velvet are ideal for winter weddings, while cotton and linen suit warmer climates.

In this comprehensive guide, we delve into the intricacies of jacket back digitizing, from its fundamental principles to tips for selecting the right digitizing service provider.
Understanding the Process
What is Digitizing?
Digitizing is the process of converting artwork into a digital embroidery file that can be read by embroidery machines. It involves meticulously mapping out stitch patterns and color sequences to recreate the original design with precision.
Importance of Jacket Back Digitizing
Jacket back digitizing holds particular significance due to the larger embroidery area available on the back of jackets. This expansive canvas allows for the creation of intricate designs that make a bold statement.
Benefits of Jacket Back Digitizing
Enhanced Design Precision
Jacket back digitizing enables the translation of complex designs into high-quality embroidery with unparalleled precision. Intricate details and shading can be faithfully reproduced, ensuring that the final product closely resembles the original artwork.
Cost-Effectiveness
Despite the intricate nature of jacket back digitizing, advancements in technology have made the process more cost-effective than ever before. Businesses can achieve professional-grade embroidery without breaking the bank, making it an attractive option for both large-scale production runs and smaller custom orders.
Versatility in Design Options
The larger embroidery area provided by jackets opens up a world of design possibilities. From intricate logos and monograms to elaborate artwork and lettering, jacket back digitizing allows for virtually limitless customization options.
Choosing the Right Digitizing Service Provider
Expertise and Experience
When selecting a digitizing service provider, expertise and experience are paramount. Look for a company with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results and a deep understanding of embroidery techniques.
Turnaround Time
Timely delivery is crucial in the fast-paced world of fashion and business. Choose a digitizing service provider that offers quick turnaround times without compromising on quality.
Pricing Structure
Consider the pricing structure of different digitizing service providers and ensure that it aligns with your budgetary requirements. While affordability is important, prioritize quality and reliability to avoid costly mistakes in the long run.
Tips for Effective Jacket Back Digitizing
Selection of Materials
Choose high-quality jackets and embroidery materials to ensure optimal results. The type of fabric and thread used can impact the final outcome, so discuss your options with the digitizer beforehand.
Design Complexity Considerations
When designing artwork for jacket back digitizing, keep in mind the limitations of the embroidery process. Simplify intricate details and gradients to ensure clarity and readability in the final embroidery.
Communication with the Digitizer
Maintain open lines of communication with the digitizer throughout the process. Provide clear instructions and feedback to ensure that your vision is accurately translated into embroidery.
Common Challenges and How to Overcome Them
Thread Breakage
Thread breakage can occur during the embroidery process, leading to interruptions and inconsistencies in the design. To minimize this issue, use high-quality thread and adjust tension settings as needed.
Stitch Density Issues
Improper stitch density can result in puckering or distortion of the fabric. Work closely with the digitizer to optimize stitch density settings for each design, taking into account factors such as fabric type and design complexity.

How Can Custom Embroidery on Corporate Apparel Elevate Your Brand?
In today’s competitive business world, it’s important for companies to stand out and create a memorable identity. One of the most effective ways to do this is by investing in custom embroidery on corporate apparel. Custom embroidery not only boosts the professionalism of your staff but also serves as a powerful branding tool. Let’s explore how custom embroidery on corporate apparel can elevate your brand and contribute to your company’s success.

1. Enhances Brand Identity
When you incorporate custom embroidery into your corporate apparel, you’re adding a personal touch that makes your brand instantly recognizable. Your company logo or name stitched into shirts, jackets, or hats helps to reinforce your brand identity. The unique, high-quality design adds a level of professionalism that sets your brand apart from the competition.
By making your logo a prominent feature on your team’s clothing, you're turning every employee into a walking advertisement for your business. Customers and clients will begin to associate your branded apparel with trust and quality, reinforcing positive perceptions of your company.
2. Professional Appearance
Custom embroidery on corporate apparel gives employees a polished, uniform look that can increase your company's credibility in the eyes of customers. Whether at a trade show, in a meeting, or interacting with clients, embroidered apparel provides a professional and cohesive appearance. This attention to detail shows that your business cares about its image and wants to present the best version of itself.
A well-dressed team can make a lasting impression, and custom embroidery on corporate apparel ensures your brand looks sharp and well-organized, enhancing your overall reputation.
3. Durability and Quality
Unlike printing, which can fade or peel over time, custom embroidery is known for its durability. The stitching method used in embroidery ensures that the design remains intact, even after multiple washes or wear. This makes embroidered corporate apparel a more sustainable choice in the long run.
When customers and employees see that your clothing has quality embroidery, they’ll associate your brand with durability and reliability. This commitment to quality reflects positively on your company and can lead to increased trust and loyalty from your target audience.
4. Increases Employee Pride and Unity
One of the often-overlooked benefits of custom embroidery on corporate apparel is its impact on employee morale. When employees wear branded apparel, they feel more connected to the company’s mission and values. It fosters a sense of pride, teamwork, and unity, as everyone is wearing the same high-quality, custom-designed clothing.
In addition, custom embroidery makes employees feel valued. They know that the company has invested in quality clothing to help them look and feel their best. This can boost job satisfaction, making employees more likely to perform well and stay loyal to the brand.
5. Versatility and Customization
Custom embroidery on corporate apparel is highly versatile and can be applied to various clothing items such as shirts, jackets, hats, bags, and even uniforms. Whether you need a subtle logo on the chest or a larger design across the back, embroidery allows for flexibility in style and placement.
Moreover, the customization options are nearly endless. You can choose the thread colors, fonts, and sizes that best match your brand’s aesthetic. This level of personalization allows you to create apparel that perfectly aligns with your company’s look and feel, making your brand more memorable.
6. Cost-Effective Marketing Tool
One of the most significant advantages of custom embroidery on corporate apparel is its cost-effectiveness. While there is an initial investment in high-quality apparel and embroidery, it’s a one-time expense that pays off in the long run. Unlike digital ads or print campaigns, which require ongoing costs, embroidered apparel keeps on working for you with no additional effort needed. Employees, clients, and even the general public will see your brand every time someone wears the apparel, offering ongoing exposure without recurring costs.
7. Improved Customer Perception
When customers see employees wearing custom embroidered corporate apparel, it reinforces a sense of professionalism and reliability. Your team will appear more approachable, organized, and trustworthy, enhancing the overall customer experience. Clients may be more likely to trust your services or products if they feel your company takes pride in its appearance and pays attention to detail.
8. Memorable Brand Exposure
Whether employees are commuting, attending events, or interacting with clients, custom embroidery on corporate apparel provides constant brand exposure. People are more likely to remember your company if they’ve seen your logo or branding in different settings, making embroidered apparel a great way to expand your brand's reach.
In addition, embroidered apparel offers a level of permanence that temporary marketing campaigns can’t match. A well-designed embroidered logo can continue to promote your business long after a campaign or event has ended.
Conclusion
Custom embroidery on corporate apparel is a strategic investment that can significantly enhance your brand's image. From improving employee morale to offering long-term marketing benefits, embroidered apparel serves as a powerful tool in your branding arsenal. Whether you want to boost your company's professionalism, increase brand visibility, or simply create a cohesive look for your team, custom embroidery is a surefire way to elevate your brand.
So, why not take the step today and start adding custom embroidery to your corporate apparel? It’s an investment that pays off with every stitch, helping your brand leave a lasting impression on clients and customers alike.

The Art of Embroidery: Transforming Varsity Jackets & Custom T-Shirts
This blog will cover varsity jackets, personalized T-shirts, the history of embroidery in fashion, and other relevant subjects.
Introduction
Embroidery is an ancient art that has evolved into a modern fashion statement.
It enhances the aesthetic appeal and value of varsity jackets and custom t-shirts.
From personalizing outfits to branding businesses, embroidery adds a timeless touch.
Varsity jackets and custom t-shirts are more than just clothing—they are symbols of identity, achievement, and personal style. While varsity jackets have historically been linked to academic achievement, athletic teams, and school pride, custom t-shirts give people and organizations a platform to display their own designs and messaging. Adding embroidery to these garments enhances their look, durability, and overall appeal, making them standout fashion pieces.
The History of Embroidery in Fashion
Came from ancient civilizations thousands of years ago, including China and Egypt.
Initially used to decorate royal garments and religious attire.
The Industrial Revolution introduced machine embroidery, making it more accessible.
Today, embroidery is a staple in fashion, sportswear, and promotional apparel.
Why Embroidery Stands Out in Apparel Design
Durability: Embroidered designs last longer than printed ones.
