bluebell, tigerlily, and aster for the ask game!
And just in case you haven't heard it yet, happy new year!
Thank you very much and I hope that you have a happy new year as well <3 <3 bluebell— do you have any pets? if so, what are their names?
I have two cats. Sunny and Jaci. They are twins when my mom adopted them from our local cat shelter she was volunteering at after my cat (Cookie) past away. Sunny is a male short haired orange hyper mess. He is ready to run towards anything that seems dangerous, but he is also super intelligent. He comes when I call his name, and he is pure muscle. Jaci is a female long haired mixture of grey tones ball of anxiety. She would rather lay down and nap than run around, and honestly she is a tad stupid (I say this with love because she is my favorite). She is super small, half of what you see of her is just fur.
tigerlily— do you have any favorite quotes from any movies, tv shows, books, or poetry? (or from people in real life)
It is a super short quote, but is something that I have always loved because of the whole entire story. "Hey Mr. Arnstein, here I am" - Barbra Streisand (Funny Girl) For me, I always looked up to this song because if she had just stayed with the group (the safe option) she would have never lived the life she wanted. She put herself out there and went for something that could have blown up in her face - yet she made the decision with knowing that. That is why I love it so much.
aster— do you have any 'fictional crushes' on any movie, tv show, or book characters? who and why?
OMFG! Well, let's go on the list. Thin Smart (I am a nerd, and I adore listening to Tedtalks and podcasts....give me someone who can talk for hours on a topic they are passionate about? I'll marry the man in a heartbeat) - Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds) - Milo Thatch (Atlantis) - Viktor (Arcane) - Athelstan (Vikings) - Professor Lupin (Harry Potter) Husband Material (They are so perfectly what I am looking for in a husband that I can't help but love them) - Shikamaru (Naruto) - Intelligence, dry humor, board games - James (Seduce Me, Otome Game) Intelligence, oldest child, *cough* BDSM *cough* - Sam (Seduce Me, Otome Game) Physically fit, protective, caring - Zuko (Avatar the Last Air Bender) - Tom Lucitor (Star vs the Forces of Evil) He learns about what his partner is into (even if he doesn't like it), he is protective but in a supportive way, may have an obsession with Tomco - Genos (One Punch Man) Hardworking, never gives up, caring, sometimes adorably childish - Shin-Ah (Yona of the Dawn) OH GOD A precious sweetheart, he deserves all the hugs, such a sweet and caring guy - Hak Son (Yona of the Dawn) Sarcastic humor, protective, dedicated, loyal - Tetsuro Kuroo (Haikyuu) Science nerd + sports, pays attention to his team, good with people, punny - Rengoku Kyojuro (Demon Slayer) What I want to be more like. Positive attitude even when not in a good mood, able to work hard even when people try to push you down, and kind in all situations but able to speak his mind bluntly - Bakugou Katsuki (My Hero Academia) Hard working, physically fit, shows care for people the way I show care for people, while I wish I was more like Kyojuro I know I am more like Katsuki - Dick Grayson (DC Comics) Funny, positive attitude, kind, hard working, caring I know it's a kink (if we met in real life I would probably die- I can go more into these...but this is getting long) - Loki (Marvel) - Sasori of the Red Sand (Naruto) - Damon Salvatore ( The Vampire Diaries) - Sukuna Ryoumen (Jujutsu Kaisen) - Lucifer, Avatar of Pride (Obey Me! Game) - Satan, Avatar of Wrath (Obey Me! Game) - Mammon, Avatar of Greed (Obey Me! Game) - Beelzebub, Avatar of Gluttony (Obey Me! Game) - Garou (One Punch Man) - Ban (Seven Deadly Sins) - Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter) - Kaz Brekker (Shadow and Bones)

The Chariot: Issue III
Original Publication Date: 03 March 2017
Cosgrove-Wylde Empire Rises Amid Ross Awards Competition By: Aramis Giordano
Hollywood royalties, Davis Wylde (Carlsburgh Mysteries and Dandridge creator) and Miranda Cosgrove (The Hunger Games and MC Company founder) announced the genders and the names of their twins on March 3, 2017 in front of a sea of supporters. Among the attendees are Miranda Cosgrove’s iCarly co-stars, Minemise Carole, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor; and Carlsburgh Mysteries veterans, Jaci Spencer, Shannon McKinley, Caleb Adams, Valerie Martin, and Taelyn Robins. Davis Wylde announced the name of the older daughter, Mallory Claire Cosgrove, while Miranda Cosgrove announced the name of the younger son, Donovan William Wylde. There are many conversations happening after the announcement in how the couple are going to pass down the MC Company to either Mallory or Donovan in the distant future. Meanwhile, in preparation for the 2017 Ross Awards, the MC Company announced the release date of the adaptation of the widely-read manga, Death Note, from February 17 to March 24, 2017. During casting, Death Note faced backlash in January for casting Alexander Avanda as Light Yagami and Dandridge’s Andrew Richard as L. Both Alexander Avanda and Andrew Richard faced pressure to drop the movie and were soon replaced by Ikeda Marusa and Akira Nishimura respectively. Death Note is the first Hollywood movie to be made up of an all person-of-color-cast. Alongside Death Note, the race for the Ross Awards intensifies as the year progresses. Vanessa Harding announces her involvement in an unnamed biopic of the first woman to run for president, Victoria Woodhull. Vanessa Harding faced criticism after three consecutive years of losing the Best Actress award for her roles as Annestine Millington (The Regnancy, 2014), Annalisa Passarelli (1906, 2015), and Alice Paul (A Woman’s Crusade, 2016). Vanessa announced her hiatus after losing the award against her competitor, Taelyn Robins (Inside the O’Brien’s), but soon changes her mind after taking on the role for her unnamed movie. More movies are being produced to compete against Death Note and Victoria Woodhull’s biopic. Some of the ideas being thrown out there include Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, Susannah Cahalan’s Brain on Fire, Emily Transue’s On Call, and Rebecca Skloot’s Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It will be an interesting and tough competition this year, looking at the possible participants, and the MC Company rising is definitely to be expected, as seen in the previous Ross Awards. Congratulations to the new parents and welcome to the industry, Mallory and Donovan.
Tensions Increase After X Factor Eliminates Final Candidate of Color By: Aramis Giordano Original Publication Date: 21 March 2017
X Factor returns for its eighth season after a year-long hiatus following Tanner Hammond’s win on January 2016. This new season, hosted by Season 7’s Persia Chapman, is the first one under Lawrence Harland’s reign and accompanies the rise of The MC Company and Davis Wylde Studios. Both Miranda and Davis agreed to mentor any candidates from this season and help them succeed, as how they propelled the Carlsburgh Mysteries trio and the Dandridge cast to fame. Miranda and Davis announced that they are looking into four or five candidates from this season and help them find their right career path in the industry. Lawrence and Davis had a meeting prior to this season’s boot camp on increasing diversity within its candidates, instead of filling the twenty spots with people of European backgrounds. The commencement of this season’s boot camp saw two mixed sections of candidates from different backgrounds, yet only two of them made it to the Top 20 - Bodhi Zhao and Caterina Sultana. Within the first four days of the season, X Factor managed to eliminate its first Asian candidate, and the first Latin American candidate followed him afterwards three days later, March 21. Caterina Sultana’s elimination prompted liberal viewers to boycott the remaining episodes of the X Factor, sharing their disappointment and anger on multiple social media accounts. Many of them are asking to give Bodhi and Caterina another chance by opening two spots within the next few days for them to return to - just as how the X Factor opened one spot for Curtis Osbourne in Season 6 (which Curtis eventually wins). The mass public is putting pressure on Lawrence Harland to initiate more changes in the show, and offer more diverse roles for people of color to star in. The X Factor director, Omar Vanderkoff, shared to the public about the set schedule for this season’s X Factor, defending Curtis Osbourne’s comeback in Season 6 to be “part of the surprise”. Omar reiterates that X Factor Season 8 is following the generic rules, with no twists or surprises, and does not anticipate on making any changes. He ends his announcement saying that he will work alongside Lawrence Harland and Davis Wylde in making Season 9 more inclusive to candidates of different races. Davis Wylde made a public announcement following Omar Vanderkoff’s of his private talk with both Bodhi Zhao and Caterina Sultana, offering them recurring roles in the next season of Dandridge. Davis Wylde’s Dandridge is pioneering changes in diversity of Hollywood movies and shows by incorporating same-sex romantic storylines, Islamophobia protests, and normalizing diversity with main characters of different backgrounds and religions, such as Jerome Garcia (Antonio Santos), Shauna Khalfallah (Sophia Osman), Daniella Kobayashi (Keira Kuyama), Abigail Patel (Sahana Mittal), among others.

S14, Top 8
Another day another drama drama...sorry, couldn’t help myself. I’ve got lwymmd on repeat, and it’s the Top 8. In previous seasons when there’s been a Top 20, the Top 8 usually gives us the best dancing but nothing without some major drama (drama).
Group Dance: Open on Robert...my initial thought: Can anyone look better dancing to a RuPaul song than Robert? Nope. Enter MARKO. No way, can’t possible get better than that. AND THEN THERE WAS LEX. Absolute perfection. That routine was so great for me because it’s something you would actually see professional dancers doing in a concert or award show setting. I loved it even more when I found out Mark choreographed it. MISS HIM!
Mark and Koine, Jazz (Mandy Moore) - Usually I find it a little more difficult to really get invested in a piece when there’s no story to grab onto, but I really enjoyed this one. They exuded such great and positive energy, and they had so much fun! It was nice to see Koine get to have fun and just be herself instead of a quirky character. And, unsurprisingly they danced the heck out of it.
Taylor and Robert, Hip Hop (Luther Brown) - I was a little on the fence about this one. I still don’t love Robert in actually hard-hitting hip hop choreo, and it was a little distracting to watch him. Taylor definitely danced her heart out thought, and I thought she did well. I definitely wasn’t as enthusiastic as the judges were...that was a bit of a surprise.
Gaby and Lex, Contemporary (Mandy Moore) - Mandy Moore is an absolutely brilliant choreographer. The way she manipulated the lifts to make them highlight Lex was genius. It was the perfect combo of grace and strength without being obvious about either. Once again, Lex defied gravity in his leaps and turns, and I just can not figure out how he does what he does.
Kaylee and Cyrus, Cha Cha (Val) - If that wasn’t the absolute cutest routine we’ve had this season?! Val must be a DAMN good teacher because Kaylee absolutely SLAYED that cha cha. She was confident, sharp, happy throughout the piece, and it made me love her even more. I absolutely loved what Vanessa said about her knowing exactly who she is and embracing it. Not gonna lie, I even teared up a little. Way to go, Kaylee!
Comfort and Mark, Broadway (Spencer Liff) - The more I see of these two, the more I like them. Mark can seriously do everything, and he is such a wonderful performer. I still can’t get over how freaking good Comfort has become over the years. That was really fun to watch, and I can’t find a bad thing to say about it.
Kiki and Jenna, Jazz (Travis Wall) - Travis is so creative sometimes I just can’t even deal. The whole concept - from the choreo to the costumes to the set - were all so well thought out and interesting. Jenna has been nothing short of perfection this season, and it’s hard to not watch her tbh. And that’s coming from someone who was not a big Jenna fan during her actual season. She really has been making Kiki better, and I’m starting to come around on him as well.
Dassy and Fikshun, Contemporary (Jaci Royal) - There was something mesmerizing about that piece. I found myself staring at the screen without blinking, just waiting to see what happened next. There were some very unique lifts in that piece, and I thought they pulled them off very well. As usual, their chemistry was on point. Dassy had some really nice lines, and I appreciated how she really got into her character. Her feet didn’t look bad either!
Logan and Allison, Hip Hop (Chris Scott) - IMO, Allison is the best dancer to ever take the SYTYCD stage and I’ll be damned if Logan doesn’t keep up with her at every turn. That kid is some kind of prodigy. This piece reminded me of the Nappy Tabs lyrical routines of yester-year, and I loved every moment. Each little moment had me grinning bigger and bigger, and by the end I was completely teary-eyed. Perfect.
All Star routine: This was a pretty incredible piece. And I stand by my earlier statement that Allison is the best dancer SYTYCD has ever had.
Taylor and Lex, Jazz (Spencer Liff) - TFD. Technique. For. Days. That was every bit of the dream sequence Spencer wanted it to be. AND MORE. I couldn’t believe how perfectly Lex and Taylor fit together, in style, technique and chemistry. This piece exuded professionalism at every turn, and all I could think while I was watching was this belongs in a movie. Seeing Taylor’s mom all teary in the audience said it all. Pure perfection.
Koine and Kiki, Salsa (Val) - Val has been an amazing asset to the choreographer rotation for SYTYCD, and I am so happy to finally be seeing some more ballroom on this show. This was a super fun number and a great partnership as well. Tbh, I couldn’t take my eyes of Koine the whole time. She was sparkling the entire time, and I was incredibly impressed by her ballroom skills. Kiki was wonderful as well, and I thought it was the first time he genuinely looked like he was having fun.
Kaylee and Logan, Contemporary (Travis) - This is the incredible partnership I never knew I needed. I feel like the shadow concept has been done before, but this was a whole new level with such a high degree of difficulty. I loved the overall effect of the choreography. Logan is
Dassy and Mark, Hip Hop (Chris Scott) - “Mark seemed like he’s danced with umbrellas before.” Um yes, have you seen the @taylorswift 1989 World Tour? This was a joy to watch and it made me so happy! Dassy and Mark are both such great performers, and I loved the joy on their faces throughout. The umbrella work was also pretty darn impressive.
AND THEN I LEGITIMATELY CRIED BECAUSE I LOVE ALL 8 OF THESE DANCERS AND I DON’T WANT ANYONE TO GO. Especially after tonight.
Bottom 3: Kaylee, Dassy, Koine / At this point, I feel like this part is just going to be gut wrenching. They are all so talented, and I honestly don’t know who I would replace with any of these girls. IT’S TOO HARD.
The judges sent Dassy home, but not without loads of compliments. They literally didn’t have a bad thing to say about anyone in the bottom and they didn’t stretch to find one. Fikshun had only incredible things to say about her in the sign off, and I am 100% confident she’ll have a great dance career.
This was the best episode of the season so far, and I can’t wait to see where they go from here.

cwsdjt’s 2018 White Sox Offseason Plan
cwsdjt’s Offseason Plan
Arbitration-eligible (with projected salaries from MLBTR): Write “tender” or “non-tender” after each of the following names. Note that you can trade before or after tendering a contract, and that players can also be extended.
• Jose Abreu, $17.9M - Tender
• Avisail Garcia, $6.7M - Tender
• Yolmer Sanchez, $2.1M - Tender
• Carlos Rodon, $2.0M - Tender
• Danny Farquhar, $1.5M – Non-tender
• Zach Putnam, $1.4M – Tender
• Leury Garcia, $1.2M – Tender
• Jake Petricka, $1.1M – Non-tender
• Al Alburquerque, $1.1M – Non-tender
Explain the toughest calls if necessary:
Impending free agents (re-sign, let go or qualifying offer)
• Geovany Soto: Made $2 million in 2017 (already let go)
• Mike Pelfrey: Made $8 million in 2017 (already let go)
Elaborate if needed:
Free agents
Peruse the list of potential free agents and name two (or more) you would pursue, the max offer you would extend to them, and a brief explanation. A good-bad example:
No. 1: Javy Guerra (1 year, $600K): This would be a nice reclamation project for Coop (AKA one of those “Coop’ll fix ‘em” guys).
No. 2: Tony Barnette (1 year, $2M): He didn’t have the best season, but he was solid in 2016. I think this would be a good lefty option to have out of the ‘pen for the season, since the Sox currently only have two lefties, Jacy Fry and Aaron Bummer on the 40 man.
No. 3: Yusmeiro Petit (2 years, $8M): This is an actual add that would improve the team. He’s coming off of a career year. If the season isn’t going well, you could always flip him for a low-level prospect.
No. 4: David Holmberg (1 year, $535K): Let’s be real. He had a very average season, but he’s one of the youngest relievers on the market, let alone lefties. At 26, I think another year of work with Coop and playing on the South Side could pay off for both the Sox and Holmberg.
No. 5: Adam Rosales (2 year, $3.5M): Rosales is a Sox killer and a Park Ridge native. This is a cheap move that could possibly play out. In addition, he’s a utility. With the lack of bench players and surplus of pitchers in the bullpen, the 3-4 players on your bench really count. Saladino has most likely plateaued, so I think this really makes sense. Trades
Propose trades that you think sound reasonable for both sides, and the rationale behind them.
No. 1: Trade Nate Jones to the Dodgers for Errol Robinson. Jones has been known to get hurt. He’s usually electric, when he isn’t, but that is a big IF. Tony Watson and Brandon Morrow will be free agents for the Dodgers, so I think this would be a trade fitting both team’s needs. Robinson in 29th in the Dodger’s top prospects, so I don’t think this is impossible for Hahn to pull off.
No. 2: Trade Tyler Saladino to anyone for Cash Considerations.
This would bring us to a 25-man roster. Sadly, it isn’t as exciting as last offseason, but as Hahn said, this is a year for development. There won’t be as many moves. Potentially, we could see a pitcher, Abreu, or Avi on the move midway through the season, but I don’t think much will happen. I believe they will sign these guys again because they would get more value out of them in the future or on the open market via trade.
I think, obviously, our bullpen was a horrid issue last season. For good reason, the tank was on. However, I think you need to look at real bullpen possibilities and reclamation projects that could help the team, whether it is through an extension or through trade for more prospects. I do not see Hahn conceding the future to satisfy a 2018 playoff birth, so I wouldn’t expect any trades or large money commitments that greatly help the 2018 roster, either. You can construct a solid bullpen for cheap, and I think there are always enough options out there.
In this scenario, Holmberg plays the role as a spot starter. Guerra is another ‘pen arm. Barnette is a solid lefty arm out of there in a bullpen dominated by righties. Petit had a career year and could play the role of closer until Burdi or someone settles in as one, and Holmberg had a good enough year to bring back on a league minimum salary. Plus, he is young compared to the rest of the market. Rosales fits that utility role off the bench, previously occupied by Saladino, who would be traded for cash.
Your 2018 White Sox should look like the following:
3B – Yolmer Sanchez
SS – Tim Anderson
2B – Yoan Moncada
1B – Jose Abreu
DH – Matt Davidson
LF – Nicky Delmonico
CF – Adam Engel
RF – Avisail Garcia
C – Omar Narvaez
C – Kevan Smith
Util - Leury Garcia
Util – Adam Rosales
SP – James Shields
SP – Carlos Rodon
SP – Reynaldo Lopez
SP – Lucas Giolito
SP – Carson Fulmer
RP – Aaron Bummer
RP – Jace Fry
RP – Juan Minaya
RP – Zach Putnam
RP – Javy Guerra
RP – Yusmeiro Petit
RP – David Holmberg
RP – Tony Barnette
Guys like Michael Kopech, Eloy Jimenez, Casey Gillaspie, Spencer Adams, Zack Burdi, Zack Collins, Ryan Cordell, Charlie Tilson, and Jordan Stephens could all force the hand of upper management, but above is what the roster should look like at the beginning of the season.

Top 8 Rankings
Probably the best show yet. Mostly due to the contestants finally dancing with each other.
12. Bodak Yellow (Robert/Taylor hip-hop), Luther Brown
This was awful. There is no way around this. This was actually, completely, and totally terrible. I was embarrassed watching this. Taylor’s ponytail was a mistake. Everything Robert did was a mistake. I’m more bitter that the judges passed this off as a good routine than anything. Because it wasn’t.
11. Respect (Cyrus/Kaylee cha-cha), Val Chmerkovskiy
Alright, so Cyrus wasn’t good, but we’re gonna ignore him. Kaylee surprised me. I didn’t expect her to have a feel for this at all, but I really thought she did. Val is also very good at choregraphing things that will look good on whoever, so they lucked out in that respect. It was super basic, but at least it was danced pretty well (by Kaylee). Dem hips.
10. Handclap (Marko/Koine jazz), Mandy Moore
The best part about this routine was the look Koine gave to the camera at 30 seconds. I also felt terrible for her dancing in those heels. With all that turning and jumping and leaning, it looked really painful. So, this was good. I feel bad putting it this low, but there was nothing that made it super amazing, I guess? As always, these two have perfect chemistry and they’re good at their own style, but maybe the choreography could have been more interesting? It makes me worry for Koine since she was already in the bottom last week.
9. Pop HD (Jenna/Kiki jazz), Travis Wall
This was almost really cool. I loved the outfits and makeup, and the concept was at least unique. I like when Travis does mildly creative stuff as I’ve said before. But again...Kiki doesn’t really do much. At least he did more than last week by having an actual turn and the bit where he held himself up on the couch, but besides that, he was mostly carting Jenna around the stage yet again. I also didn’t find their chemistry super amazing in this routine. Also, why was Jenna barefoot? I hate when one person is barefoot and one isn’t. Also also, the judges need to stfu and actually talk about Kiki during critiques instead of tongue bathing Jenna. It’s getting really fucking old.
8. Shadows (Kaylee/Logan contemporary), Travis Wall
I wanted to like this more, but for some reason, it didn’t completely click with me. The idea was cool, and I liked the choreography, but I don’t think it did Kaylee any favors tbh. Up against Logan, you can see where her technique is somewhat lacking, not to mention she was painted and dressed in dark colors, so it was hard to even pay attention to her. As always, Logan was great in his own style, and I did think they had good chemistry. It was just the kind of routine I see and go “huh, that was really cool” and then I never watch again.
7. Tilted (Dassy/Mark hip-hop), Christopher Scott
Imagine being Chis Scott, seeing that you have Dassy and Mark, and giving them this routine to do. Not only did he give them unnecessary props, but he forced them to dance with them for the entire routine. It was at least a real hip-hop routine, but I don’t think it individually showed off Dassy and Mark at all. Anyone in the cast probably could have done this routine. (Alright, an exaggeration, but still.) The only reason it still ranks this high is because Dassy and Mark are adorable and completely sold it. It was just so cute. When I got over how bitter I was, it made me smile so big. Chris Scott always does this when he gets specialists and I need him to stop.
6. Say You Won’t Let Go (Allison/Logan hip-hip), Christopher Scott
This was also cute. I guess Chris Scott was just in a cute mood last week. It also looks almost exactly like the routine he did for Jess and Clarice in season 8. Like almost exactly. I think there was even a mirror prop there, too. I guess it’s hard to come up with lyrical hip-hop routines that are supposed to look different from each other, though, so I’ll let it slide. I’m not surprised at all that Logan is good at hip-hop and I’m glad we saw him show off his breaking somewhat. I wish there was a little more, but I’ll take what I can get. Of course Allison is good at hip-hop considering who her husband is. Speaking of which, this definitely didn’t feel like a routine about married people at all, so I’m just gonna act like it was about Allison and her little brother.
5. Breathe (Fik-shun/Dassy contemporary), Jaci Royal
Okay, so this is more like it. That routine with Sydney during week 2 was just a fluke. This was really cool. The visuals created made the entire routine, like that spin lift where Dassy turned her body and when he held her up on his legs at the very beginning. I’m so glad we saw Dassy in a serious routine before she left to prove that she wasn’t one note, and their chemistry didn’t suffer at all. My one complaint is that I feel like there wasn’t a ton of dancing going on here. Just a lot of lifts and poses. Also, #JusticeForDassy.
4. Work Song (Gaby/Lex contemporary), Mandy Moore
I wanted this to be amazing and transcendent. Instead it was just...really good. Not entirely sure why. Maybe it was the choreography? At times it seemed a little too busy, and I think I wanted them to breathe with the music a little more. But Good lord, Lex. I wish that leap had been shown at a different angle because he looked like he got 20 feet off the ground. For once, I feel like he got to outshine Gaby. I didn’t really feel much of anything from Gaby during this dance, which is a first. It made the chemistry a little unbelievable, which is probably another reason this wasn’t amazing and transcendent. (That and when they got slightly out of sync during the only moment they were separated.) But this was the show off moment I wanted for Lex. Now all he needs is hip-hop.
3. Criminal (Comfort/Mark Broadway), Spencer Liff
I almost put them at #1 anyway because I think they’re amazing and deserve it, but my honest opinion puts this routine right here. If I had just watched this with no context, I wouldn’t have a clue that either of them are hip-hop dancers. Especially Mark! I love when Spencer doesn’t hold back because those leaps! Those turns! Those lines! Bboy where? Bboy who?? And of course, their chemistry is amazing as always. It was actually an entertaining, sexy routine like it was meant to be, and I hope Spencer was pleased af. Mark for the finale. (Also lmao at Comfort breaking the handcuffs and just holding her hands together for the rest of the routine.)
2. An American in Paris (Taylor/Lex jazz), Spencer Liff
I wanted them to dance together, but I wasn’t expecting them to actually get to do it. Also, I’m not sure if the showed actually admitted that they were dating or not. It sounded more like “oh we know each other and are super close, so this routine about being in love will be sooooo hard!” it was a little weird. Why not just say it? But anyway. Nigel exaggerated the fuck out of this, but I did actually think this was a great routine. They looked so happy to be dancing together, which made the chemistry perfect, which made me forget that it was supposed to be about two actual birds, because really, Spencer? Birds? And the dancing was really amazing. (All that control!) Not a surprise since this is their style, but when Taylor is choreographed to her strengths, she’s something else. I know it’ll keep her safe this week, which I really don’t want, but whatever. This was awesome.
I feel like I have a lot of explaining to do putting Kiki at #1. Bear with me.

SYTYCD14 - top 8 perform
I have no idea who Rupaul is even though everyone keeps mentioning the name. I still love this opening no less.
Contestants finally danced with each other! Took them long enough. Nigel took every opportunity to not-so-subtly hint that he thinks a top 20 format is better HA.
Whoa what happened to Vanessa. She doesn’t look bad, but I got a shock when I saw her.
Koine and Marko - Jazz - Gosh Marko’s hair. Saw one or two out of sync moments and a very slight wobble from Koine in those stilletto heels. Love the energy and the fun.
“Tay-lo” and “Bob” - Hip hop - Uhh I think Taylor did a pretty good job but the giant coat kind of drowned her movements. The dance and choreo as a whole didn’t interest me too.
Lex and Gaby - Contemporary - I kinda forgot that contemporary was Lex’s home style oops. His elevation is off the charts. Didn’t really see the story Mandy Moore wanted but I thought Lex put some good emotional moments in the dance. The ending where he leaned onto Gaby and slowly lowered himself to the floor.
Kaylee and Cyrus - Cha cha - Regular blog readers will know I’m not the biggest fan of Val or his choreography, but most of my favourite dances of his are his cha chas. I was skeptical about this dance because the cha cha he gave Sydney was so bland, but this number was fun. I found some of Kaylee and Cyrus’ attempts at hip movement very herky-jerky but otherwise they performed well. Plus, we got to see Cyrus wearing an apron and wielding a vacuum cleaner.
Mark and Comfort - Broadway - Why does everyone want Mark and Comfort to play some kind of dysfunctional dancer. Comfort rocked her character. Mark had some great lines and good technique. Lots of nice soft accents here and there. Did they take off the handcuffs though...
Kiki and Jenna - Jazz - The set design!!! The makeup!!! The lines on the costumes!!! It really looked 2D. The music choice and choreography also added to the effect, because they kept pausing, so it’s like looking at a series of static frames. But at the same time, there’s still dancing, and the movements still link up. Amazing work by Travis Wall.
Dassy and Fik-shun - Contemporary - This is an interesting concept and the choreography was good. I feel like they held back a bit when Fik-shun was swinging her around by the legs, but otherwise, decent job. I hate full-red costumes though, and the satin and lace combination is bad taste too. Who tf designed that??
Logan and Allison - Hip hop - Oh my god this dance is so cute. Chris Scott!! I love Chris Scott. I can definitely see Logan as a pesky younger brother though, he has that kind of face. Amazing dance, very simple and sweet, still showing off how good dancers Allison and Logan are.
All-star dance by Jaci Royal. Brilliant use of those transparent boards. Can we have a non-contemp soon?
Taylor and Lex - Jazz - Star-crossed love birds...literally. Great, somewhat quirky choreography by Spencer Liff. Good characterisation by Lex and Taylor. Lex looked a bit uncomfortable lifting Taylor but they pulled it off. I could watch this again and again and again.
#Kikikoko - Salsa - I wasn’t aware of the #daddykiki hashtag. Koine was fantastic keeping up with Kiki. No one gets on his level in terms of how swift and sharp his turns and head flicks are though. “Wow what’s going on with this show?” - Mary on all the kissing happening on the SYTYCD. Lmao. It was quite obvious from the shape of their silhouettes that their mouths weren’t even near each other.
Logan and Kaylee - Contemporary - Kaylee was supposed to be Logan’s shadow, but her shirt didn’t have to cover her chin like that, did it? Interesting concept by Travis Wall. Saw a bit of sync issues in the middle.
Dassy and Mark - Hip hop - wait so they are pieces of trash, right? The costume is still kinda weird. Fun quirky little number. There were some times where they were out of sync in the sense that Mark has longer arms so it looked like he and Dassy had different lines. Dancing with a prop is always tricky so props (pun intended) to them. Apparently Dassy is more notorious than Charlie White at destroying umbrellas.
Bottom 3: Kaylee, Dassy and Koine. Nigel goes around and around and finally tells Koine she is safe. Marko looks so relieved. Going home is Dassy. I feel like the eliminations this season are turning into a two-strikes and you’re out thing. Then again, there have been contestants who were repeatedly in the bottom 2/3 but always got saved by the judges, so we’ll see how this plays out.
