More sleep deprivation thoughts: The ultimate catharsis in Caedus being a clone and the real Jacen turning up later is Jacen and Jaina maybe eventually getting to a point where they can both look back on Caedus's entire existence and laugh their asses off at how comically stupid he was.

Jacen in the rebels art style looks like he smells bad

I'm glad I'm not crazy because ever since her live action appearance in The Mandalorian, I thought she seemed way too aloof to be the real Ahsoka. Like, Ahsoka has seen some shit, and that's bound to make anyone seem far away sometimes, but there was always this warmth and affection to her that's almost totally absent from her live action portrayal.
I am so glad some people are calling attention to the lack of warmth in general because it's a pet peeve of mine with newer Star Wars content. The thing that makes me hold Star Wars so dear is the depth and complexity of relationships between characters, and I feel like in some ways we are losing that in favor cinematography, writing that's trying to do too many things and accomplishing nothing at all, and a certain kind of blandness that I typically find in other fandoms (no offense to them, but I love my Star Wars mush).
The most fascinating thing about this show is why she would have wanted to take on an apprentice, and what led to the eventual conflict, but so far we're not getting into it. It is confusing, and as excited as I was to see one of my all-time favorite characters in her own show, I'm a little bored. I'd rather this was an animated series with same writing quality we had in Rebels that actually developed characters and communicated things in a purposeful way that built and carried your emotions. I am still enjoying the live action show, but not as much as I want to.
I can't hold it in any longer. I'm so deeply confused by Ahsoka. I just really don't understand who this show is for. Is it for regular people who watch The Mandalorian but have never seen the animated shows? Then the fact that all the main characters have years of history that those people know nothing amount basically guarantees that they will not find any aspect of this story compelling. If you don't know who Ezra is, why would you care if he's saved or not? If you don't know anything about Hera and Sabine's relationship, would you be interested in Hera's continuing presence in this show? If you've never seen Thrawn, how could you think of him as a genuine threat that everyone should be worried about? And if your only exposure to Ahsoka is in the live-action shows, then I'm sorry, but why would you want to watch a show about that character, who is very cold and appears to have no real emotions or inner life and whom you have been given no reason to be invested in?
On the flip side, as someone who has seen Rebels and The Clone Wars, speaking for myself I can say that this show is giving me nothing I want because it's simultaneously dependent on the backstory of those shows but is trying to be accessible. Ahsoka has a long, complicated, very fraught history with the Jedi order--something you'd have no idea about from what this show is giving us (the opening crawl called her an ex-Jedi knight! which she isn't! what is going on!). The intense bonds of love and family that tie together the Ghost crew members are alluded to here, but the actors can't really sell them, through no fault of their own, but because those bonds were so thoroughly established by separate versions of the character. I miss the warm, deeply intimate, sometimes fractious relationship that Hera and Sabine had, a weird cross between mother/daughter and older sister/younger sister that was such a lovely part of Rebels and that isn't really being recreated here. Most of all, I think Filoni's desire to keep the animated references down to a minimum has, in these first three episodes, resulted in the erasure of my personal favorite Ghost crew member! And to me it makes no sense! Ahsoka was never the main Jedi in Sabine's life--Ezra and Kanan were. The people who first taught Sabine to use a light(dark)saber were Kanan and Ezra. We got a Jacen appearance this episode, and he even says that he wants to be a Jedi, but a casual viewer would have no idea that Hera's pained reaction to this is because his father was a Jedi! Star Wars is all about legacies and the pain they cause and the ways that stories repeat themselves and the groundwork for that is all here, but we can't tap into it because this show is being made for people who neither know nor care who these characters are and where they are coming from!
And then there's the one bit of backstory that we're missing that makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. Multiple times in each of the three episodes that have aired so far, I have found myself thinking back through Rebels--was there a scene were it was suggested that Sabine was force-sensitive? The answer, of course, is no. So, given Ahsoka's kind of traumatic history with the Jedi order, why would she see a young woman with no kind of force sensitivity and think, oh, yeah, she should be a padawan? I just don't buy it. Ahsoka's ties to her Jedi life weren't severed when she was expelled from the order, or when she declined to rejoin it, obviously; we saw in s7 as well as in Tales of the Jedi that a lot of her journey is about coming to understand the value of the Jedi and the role that they played in the galaxy and how that legacy lives in her. But her path was different. She's a product of the Jedi order, but she's not one of them. Why she would think the only way to help Sabine to develop is to force her into a mold that a) isn't right for her, and b) ultimately wasn't even right for Ahsoka herself just makes no sense to me. And because we have no access to that first, unsuccessful attempt to teach Sabine, we have no idea why any of this is going on are what anybody is hoping to get out of this arrangement.
I should be done, but if I'm griping, one more thing. In TCW, Ahsoka is an endlessly compelling character. We see her grow from cute little brat to a thoughtful, compassionate young woman of deep conviction and principle, always questioning the world around her, always grounded by deep relationships. Her appearances in Rebels feel like the natural maturation of that character--she's older, calmer, more sure of herself, her personality that before was so bubbly having subsided into deep, flowing waters. But she's still animated by curiosity, kindness, and a sense of justice. She's obviously changed from who she was as a child, but she's still Ahsoka.
I personally see no continuity between this character I love in her animated form and the live-action version. It's not really a performance problem, it's that this Ahsoka just doesn't feel like Ahsoka, because she's missing the quality that I most associate with her: warmth. Ahsoka cares. Everything she does is out of a desire to help people. No matter how much she went through, how much she was hurt, she always came back to that. And that's just gone here. Here, she doesn't seem to have any kind of a personality (bizarre, given that she's nominally the main character). What drives her, what she cares about, the importance of her relationships in her life... I just can't see any of it. And it bums me out, because I love Ahsoka, and I want to watch more stories about her, but I want them to actually be about her, not this imposter.
So, uh, in conclusion, I really wanted a Rebels sequel and I really wanted more Ahsoka but this show is, for me, the absolute worst fulfillment of those wishes. And I'm sad about it!

My Thoughts on Episode 3
...I'm gonna be honest, I do not have high hopes for this episode from how many of the people I follow have been going on angry rants about it.
Here we go, I guess.
----------
Well, at least now there's one acknowledgement that Sabine is Mandalorian.
----------
"Learning to wield the Force takes a deeper commitment."
...I swear to god, I really hope they're taking the "Sabine's just a little Force sensitive" route, because is Felony is actually trying to imply that anyone could be Force-sensitive if they just "tried harder" then I'm going to fucking scream.
If anyone can be Force sensitive, why hasn't everyone tried? What was the point of Order 66 and why were the survivors of it so important? Why the fuck didn't some random person just turn into a Jedi and take out the Emperor, why did they have to wait for Luke?
It just...it ruins literally the entire franchise and makes everything pointless and meaningless, if that's what Felony is actually saying here.
----------
I've never been more bored in my life than watching this sequence.
----------
*long sigh at calling Sabine a Jedi*
----------
Y'know, this would've been a perfect time for Jacen to just say- "I want to be a Jedi, like dad!"
Like, are we just supposed to forget that Kanan existed at all??? Not even a name drop???
----------
"I can't use the Force, I can't feel it...not like you do."
Great, that's just great.
So Felony's going the- "just try harder and anyone can be a Jedi!" -method, that's...just...
*UNHINGED ANGRY SCREAMING*
"The Force resides in all living things. Even you."
Yes, Ahsoka, because it's the literal life-blood of everything, but that doesn't fucking mean that anyone can use it. That's why there's a section of the population called Force-sensitives, because they're sensitive to the Force and can therefore use it.
If everyone had that capability, then that classification is useless and also---again---this calls the entire fucking Star Wars franchise into question and makes the entire thing meaningless!
"If that's true then why doesn't everyone use it?" "Talent is a factor."
No, sensitivity to it is a factor.
God, I'm not even 15 minutes in and I'm already so fucking pissed.
----------
"The Jedi Order would not have accepted her, she is not an acceptable candidate." "By their standards."
Yes, Ahsoka, by their very strict standards that are-
YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING FORCE-SENSITIVE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!
"Standards that were proven over a millennium." "And failed."
No, they didn't fail---the Jedi Order was very successful and helped spread good all across the galaxy until your shit asshole master fucking massacred them and then spent the rest of his shitty miserable life desecrating their culture.
I legit fucking hate Ahsoka now.
Like, I really do.
TCW was the only show that actually made me like her, and honestly I can't fucking stand her now.
----------
So Sabine and Ahsoka are bashing on Huyang for...following protocol so they aren't noticed by their enemies and/or other hostiles?
Seriously?
Do they want to get caught or give Morgan time to escape, if they're found out?
...
Fuck it, I'm rooting for the villains to win for once---I hope they kick Ahsoka and Sabine's asses, kill or capture them, and leave Huyang to go help Luke rebuild the Order.
Huyang deserves to be appreciated and he should be somewhere where he, and his knowledge of the Jedi, is---not with a couple of jackasses who'll harp on him for even the smallest thing, even if it helps them.
----------
PURRGILS!!! MY BABIES!!!
----------
Oh, so now they'll follow "standard Jedi protocol" when it's convenient for them? After just bashing Huyang for it? And bashing him for it the whole show?
Wow.
I don't think I've ever wanted to fucking deck a character this bad since Anakin---it's kind of ironic that it's Anakin's padawan that's making me feel this way, though.
Huyang deserves better.

❛ i thought we’d have more time ❜ - Kanan to Hera @violentdelightstheseviolentends
Tumblr media
Hera knew for a fact it was foolish to invite Kanan over, but some part of her, a tiny fragment of the rebel she once was longed for him when he was absent. She shifted her weight on her side of the couch, her arms wrapping around her knees. "No one is promised forever." Hera retorted, "Especially people like us." Hera counted herself lucky to have Jacen, to have something good. She often felt like he deserved a better mother then she was for him. "Sometimes you just have to make the best with the time you have."

Fandom ask thing!
How’s about 2, 3, 16, and 17?
Well, am I LATE in responding to this! Sorry, real life and my real ADHD brain came between me and answering these earlier. BUT I'M HERE NOW!! Shuffles through archive to find the actual questions so I can answer... 2. A headcanon you weren't sure about but have now come to like. Alien-genitalia Ahsoka. I've never minded the HC of Ahsoka being dual sex or having a penis at all, but my head used to spin at some of the ideas I read about. "What do you mean, she has a blue tendril?!?!" Now, I'm like, "c'mon, surprise me. Let's see what your imagination can cook up." Yes, I will continue to write my own Ahsoka as my vanilla genitalia, sorry guys. I never said I was the one with the imagination.
3. A character that fandom has helped you appreciate. Cali don't yell at me for this. Satine Kryze. I smashed through The Clone Wars whilst on a solo camping trip with my dog along the Australian eastern coastline last year. When it would get dark and the mosquitos would come out to play, my dog and I would retreat into my epic swag-tent in the back of my ute, and I'd watch TCW until I was ready to sleep. TBH I had come to TCW to learn more about Ahsoka and Bo-Katan having just met them in S2 of the Mandalorian. All the characters I then got to meet was a bonus SW education. Satine I enjoyed as a character, especially with her obvious modelling off Cate Blanchett's take on Queen Elizabeth I. But, I ended up rolling my eyes a bit at her being used as that trope of 'that tool to hurt Obi-Wan deeply but show he doesn't turn to the dark side'. Yes I still cried like a bitch when she died in his arms, but still. I'm sick of women being used as features to strengthen a man's story arc. It was through fandom *cough* the LesBo discord server *cough* that I learned to appreciate Satine more for her pacifism politics despite her own classic bubbling Mandalorian anger issues, as well as her deeply complex, tumultuous relationship with her younger sister, Bo-Katan. Satine, you deserved better, and I wish I appreciated you more in my first encounter with you. Time for a Clone Wars re-watch, I think.
16. A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate. That the characters in SW grow up, grow old, and grow in and out of certain roles or stereotypes fandom like to place them in. I think it's that 'found family' doesn't need to represent the traditional Western family nucleus. I see so much of fandom calling Hera and Kanan the mum and dad of the Ghost crew, and I'm not saying that's wrong, but it doesn't allow the natural growth that characters are allowed to have as they get older. Or maybe more that, fandom doesn't allow the characters to grow out of that. Hera is a natural leader, and summarising it as 'mum' vibes does her an injustice, as people much older than her respect her leadership and follow her to hell and back because of her natural command presence, her compassion for the people she leads and her steadfast belief in their cause. People seem to forget that characters like Zeb or Mon Mothma, who are 15/20 years older than Hera, follow her lead in times of crisis or even just daily run-of-the-mill military operations. Hera was a runaway 18 year old girl with just her ship and her murderous droid verses the galaxy, and she ends up a General of the Rebellion/New Republic. That's more than mum vibes, that's BAMF vibes.
On the other side of the equation you have Sabine and Ezra, often depicted as Hera's 'children' in Rebels. Yet they become adults With only an 8 year age gap between Hera and Sabine, it's natural that Sabine would grow into more of a little-sister dynamic with Hera, which they try to show in the Ahsoka series with Jacen calling her 'Aunt Sabine'. But people seem to prefer still calling Sabine a 'girl-failure' of a kid rather than the traumatised, 30 year old adult woman with complex relationships she now is. Pigeon-holing characters into nuclear family roles I feel either permanently infantilizes some characters unfairly, or makes them the chronic 'mum/dad' characters that aren't allowed to be seen as fun, rule-breaking or sexy. The characters in SW grow up, are changed by their experiences, relationships and traumas, and I find that beautiful. I wish more people did too.
17. The thing in canon that everyone loves that you also love. Sabine Wren being an artist as well as a killing machine. It might be an odd thing for me to fixate on, but growing up in a left vs right political society, I was often ostracised for being in the military but also being queer, left-voting, a seamstress and creative. Apparently, two such components of my identity were not allowed to co-exist in the one person. So naturally, I found it a breath of fresh air seeing in Rebels, Sabine spray painting anti-Imperial graffiti on a wall one moment to shooting or blowing up bucketheads a moment later without blinking an eye. Her painted armour, literally bringing those two 'opposing' sides of her identity together that makes her who she is - love it so damn much.
Anyways, I've probably taken all these questions too seriously and have possibly also pissed off half of fandom with my take on these. But at least I've had fun doing so. 😂
Thanks for the ask!!

I know I always talk about how fond I am of Legends, but tbh as a teenager I stopped reading new stories (at least set after the original trilogy) partway through Legacy of the Force because I was so annoyed/angry that they made my favorite character, Jacen Solo, evil. Like legitimately, I was so into the EU that it losing me was quite an achievement. I think Jacen was one of my first blorbos lol. I loved him so much. He deserved better

Episode 5 of the Ahsoka series was the best episode so far plot wise. I give that well deserved credit to Anakin. The plot and the music was great. Seriously. The. Music. Though. Like. Ahhhh
I loved Huyang confirming Jacen has a connection to the force. As well as, Huyang’s conversation with Hera on the ship when he called Anakin intense (He’s not wrong). Then Ahsoka reuniting with them was great. I enjoyed the part where Jacen asked Huyang if he could train him and tell him how to build a lightsaber then Huyang saying no. It was a funny moment. I always enjoyed seeing the purgills (or as the whovian in me calls them Star Whales. It doesn’t help that David Tennant voices Huyang)
My favorites part was seeing Anakin. Both in the World Between Worlds and the flashback. It was nice to see Hayden as Clone Wars Anakin. The lightsaber fight was great between Anakin and Ahsoka!
The transition between the World Between Worlds and Ahsoka in the water was very well done visually.
My only complaint again is Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka. (I’m going to complain about this for forever. They should’ve just had Ashley Eckstein play her). Other than not looking like her, her acting hasn’t been good either. I did think she did a really good job right after being rescued when she called out for Anakin though. So, maybe there’s hope for me to see her as Ahsoka. I can get over her not looking like Ahsoka if her acting is good. I also thought the actress for the younger Ahsoka looked more like a younger Rosario than a younger Ahsoka. Honestly, they both felt like a different character rather than Ahsoka.
Also, Ahsoka needs to be a brighter orange and the pattern on Hera’s lekku could be more prominent.
I just wish this series was animated instead. It would fix everything for me. I hope if they do anymore of this story after this season that it’s in an animated format. I actually prefer it in general. I think it flows better.

OC HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE '23 - Day 4: Twisted -> Jacen Skywalker (Star Wars)
"Don't you get it? I have to do this. No one else is. I can end this, for good."
In which the Dark Side being the reason Jacen lost his entire family is not enough to stop him from also falling. The First Order will be destroyed... one way or another. For the good of the galaxy. For what splinters remains of his family.

Here we go again
So, once again, like the sacrificial lamb that I am, I've consumed the newest episode of Ahsoka...and the best thing that could possibly happen to this show is Thrawn showing up for literally only two seconds. Keep my baby away from this, he deserves better.
It goes without saying that the flashbacks and Anakin made me feel nothing. It was clear that they were covering the clone's faces so that they didn't have to pay Temuera Morrison more than just for that one line. It was an utter rehash of multiple Clone Wars arcs, but far far worse.
A show, where people walk with arms crossed between set pieces in shitty looking costumes. I've seen child cosplayers with better costumes than this. Baby Ahsoka looks like shit. Adult Ahsoka looks like shit. De-aged Anakin looks like shit. Normal Hayden Christensen looks hot. I will concede that point easily.
But yeah, I return once more to my thesis that nothing fucking happens in this show. Like sure, events take place, but they have no meaning. The New Republic wants to court martial Hera? Okay...for what??? Going rogue? They literally don't believe that a war is coming so why the fuck do they care??? Also she's literally one of their highest ranking generals...so what exactly can they do to her? Take away her ship? You're prying the Ghost from her cold dead hands.
Like seriously though, why did this take 3 episodes for them to figure out to follow the purrgil? Like, why wasn't that the first thought?
Also, why is Ahsoka going and finding Hera's kids??? She literally could have left Jacen and Chopper sitting on the Ghost for the entire fleet to find, and jumped in with Ahsoka...
OH AND ALSO FUCK YOU DISNEY FOR MENTIONING LEIA KEEP MY WIFE'S NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH - my live reaction
Aaaanyway, here's the obligatory where the fuck is Zeb? Where the fuck is Kallus? We literally only have 3 episodes left. Is Disney avoiding them cuz they don't want to pay Steve Bloom? Is that what's going on? Did he make one too many m-preg jokes and the higher ups stuck him on the DNI list right next to Daniel Glover for the crime of being pro queer characters???
So yeah...Also yes, fine, the purrgil look really good. I'll also give them that.an

Ahsoka episode 7 thoughts
Hera deserves better :(
I love Mon Mothma here. You can tell she's on Hera's side, but is genuinely trying to be impartial when rendering judgment
NO WAY DID XIONO JUST DISRESPECT C-3PO. Also lol @ Chopper getting offended. My man was about to commit some light war crimes
I was going to say the C3PO cameo was a little much, but I think I prefer that to CGI Leia. And her involvement with the mission was mentioned several episodes ago so it doesn't come out of nowhere
Anakin holo-recording! And Ahsoka still keeping them in a stash!!! <3
Ventress mention??? Ventress mention!!! :)
Thrawn being actually tactical is nice to see. I wish they'd touched on his history with Anakin a bit more - he's clearly familiar with him, but he easily could have been describing Anakin's reputation alone
Zeb namedrop! At least he's doing something. Still no word on Kallus...
"The Emperor died??" "So they say" LMAO
We didn't get to see Ezra learn about Jacen :( Maybe an in-person meeting next episode??
Disappointing that Ezra and Sabine still aren't having an honest talk about how she got there
Nooooooo Baylan and Shin are such a good duo, I don't want to see them separated :(
What is Baylan doing? What is the destiny he's seeking??? I need to know!
The implication that Ezra taught the Noti to slingshot Raiders is sending me
HOLY SHIT. Ezra is a badass!
I can't believe I'm attracted to Ezra Bridger now but we're going with it. Between him and Shin, I'm in full Bi Panic Mode
THAT FORCE BLOCK THO
Some great action in this episode
Ahsoka stealing Baylan's ride is queen behavior
Ahsoka being a proud auntie to grown up Ezra is absolutely adorable
Ezra’s entire portrayal felt so on point in this episode. Quippy yet wise, confident but not overconfident, and his casting was perfect
I still wish Sabine would have told Ezra the truth before Ahsoka's arrival. I assume Ahsoka's going to out it in the finale, but the reveal will lose some impact now that she's come to the rescue
Love how you can see the difference in Rosario's demeanor before and after the WBW. We saw it in ep 5 but it's on full display here. She's so much lighter now, more like the Snips we all know and love.

AHSOKA TRAILER JUST DROPPED AND
I have so many questions and a full theory but omg I’m so exciteddd
-How much of the Heir to the empire saga are we getting?
-Could the white haired girl be Mara/play Mara’s role?
-Could the sith be Jorrus?
-Is the Rebels cast replacing the Skywalkers here?
-we should get some Skywalkers at some point though
-Also, how come Thrawn is ok and ready to fuck shit up but Ezra is NOWHERE to be seen?!
-Ezra better be ok riding his space whales or I’m rioting
-If we’re getting the ghost crew back, baby Jacen can’t be too far away omg
-IF platinum blondie is a sort of Mara, and Luke is nowhere to be seen, are we setting her up with Ezra?
-I’m definitely rooting for Ezra and Sabine to be the end game BUT I love getting drama too lol
-Is Ashoka the new Skywalker getting a girlfriend?!
-though I don’t want to parallel too much to the legends trilogy, I’m sure Filoni will surprise us with many new things we won’t ever come up with
-According to new canon, Thrawn is with the empire because he wants them to be possible allies to the Chiss, so why help the empire after the emperor’s long gone?
-wait for it
-CLONING AND MIDICLORIAN ENHACEMENT
-So it’s probably not Moff Gideon pulling the strings but Thrawn
-With the force sensitive Chiss children being more and more rare to find, this would be the best solution for their navigators problems
-Also connecting with The Bad batch, I’m hoping we eventually blow up Mount Tantiss because clones deserve that much
-But Mount Tantiss WAS the OG cloning facility in Heir to the empire, so why would Filoni give it away so early in the story?
-To relocate and restart all cloning experiments in whatever nightmare sith planet we saw back in Rise of Skywalker, thus giving finally some more solid ground to the new trilogy
That’s about all my thoughts so far
Any other theories guys? I’d love to compare what we got

Who’s the Best Pilot?
Tumblr media
In general, I tried to take someone's Force Talent into account and have that be somewhat weighed against them - Luke is probably equal to Wedge, Tycho and Sootnir (Which really should be the S Row, Vader alone in S+ cause the man was dogfighting at near lightspeed and everyone shifted down) but they're just humans were as he's a Jedi. Other times though, like the Force Users we do have at the top, they're just so overwhelmingly better then the people around them that they deserve to be that high up.
S+ —> Vader/Anakin, Wedge Antilles, Soontir Fel, Tycho Celchu
S —> Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Jaina Solo, Jagged Fel, Saesee Tiin, Corran Horn
A —> Hera Syndulla, Rey Skwaylker, Jacen Solo, Kylo Ren, Plo Koon, Poe Dameron, Kyp Durron, Pash Cracken, Ooryl Qyrgg
B —> Maarek Stele, Shea Hublin, Ventress, Ahsoka Tano, Gavin Darklighter, Bror Jace, Lowbacca, Din Djarin
C —> Tri-Fighters, Bo-Katan Kryze, Obi-Wan, Chirdaki, Che’ri, Biggs Darklighter, Shara Bey, Biggs Darklighter, Garven Dreis, Nien Nunb
D —> Clone Troopers, Ello Asty, Porkins, Jessika Pava, Varko Grey,  Inyri Forge, Aril Nunb, Rella Sol, Jake Farrel
F —> Vulture Droids, Cade Skywalker, Lujayne Forge, Eresi Delerit, Havina Vonreg

Just heard that Ahsoka and Sabine got stuck in world between worlds or whatever that shit is called. Good! They can stay there!
Keep live action Sabine far away from Ezra, he deserves better.
I don’t even feel bad for them at all tbh! At least Ezra is home now. I’m still somewhat hopeful we can get some good Ezra content squeezed out with him maybe training Jacen or something of the sort (preferably with no filoni involvement). He actually does deserve so much better. I still think Tiya should have just been the one to play live action Sabine bc she does acts as well and not even the whitewashing of Sabine could have prepared me for how terribly written and ooc she is in live action.

I'm finally enjoying Ahsoka!
This recent episode really did it for me, not sure why. If it had not I wouldn't have enjoyed the ending reveal.
Some thoughts...
- I really ship Lil Blondey with Sabine. Maybe it's because their combined eyeshadow game could take over the galaxy. Maybe it's just how queer-coded Live Action Sabine feels to me. Maybe it's because the red bladed baddie chased the gun shooting goody through a forest and in my mind that's where the best SW romances start
- Hera Syndulla continuing her habit of bringing children into space battles. 10/10 Space Mom.
- I enjoy the emphasis on Sabine and Ezra as siblings. No shade to my lovely Sabezra shipping pals, but he always felt to me like her annoying little brother that she'd do anything for.
- the map is serving so much KOTOR. Anything that has KOTOR vibes makes me happy. I don't even care that it's a map quest, I just love the aesthetic very much.
- if anything bad happens to a single green hair on my little petal Jacen's head there will be hell to pay. I love him. Not as much as I love Grogu and loth cats but I love him. I want to ruffle his green mop.
- 'mom... I have a bad feeling...' said with such earnestness, omg, my sweet boy. I'm sad Kanan never met him.
- Rosario seems to have finally found her rhythm with the character. When she picks up the map ball gadget and lets out a cry, it sounds more like emotional anguish than pain. It feels like a reaction to the mention of Anakin, and I enjoyed this choice very much.
- Lil Blondey saying 'you have no power' to Sabine before Sabine clocks her one with a Mando dart is awesome. 'No power? Really? Try MY ENTIRE CULTURAL HERITAGE for power!!'
- Ahsoka fucking up on Sabine during the Night of a Thousand Tears is also a great development. Feels right. Not sure why.
- The World Between Worlds looks very beautiful in live action. It would look even more beautiful on a cinema screen with a confused dark-haired man waking up there to be told by the ghosts of his ancestors that he has to go back to the realm of the living, JUST SAYING.
- Hayden keeps getting better looking as he gets older, so the de-ageing is a bit whatever, but OMG THERE HE IS. HAYDEN AS ANAKIN. I don't fancy him, I never did, but I have such intense affection for his face. Seeing Hayden age is like seeing Anakin age the way he might have if not for Palpatine, which is why I'm kinda meh on running him through the computers to smooth him out. But I also really love his voice, I always did, I just feel such love for the slight hint of Canada in the second vowel sound of Ahsoka's name when he says it. I am delighted that Hayden is getting to do more with his character than his oft-mocked work in the PT.
- Seeing Anakin in the WBW just makes me wish he was in TROS.
- CARSON TEVA IS HERE. Idk why, maybe it's just he has such a kind face and amiable demeanor but I'm always pleased to see him.
- I'm still kinda sad that the show is suggesting that Sabine doesn't see Hera as her family. Hera half raised Sabine. Her attitude of 'Guess I'm just adopting two teenagers and a furry purple dude' is just very inspirational to me as somebody who doesn't want to biologically reproduce or do parenthood in a traditional way, and I would really like to see Hera's open-hearted and loving nature get the respect it deserves.
-I'm glad we haven't gotten Thrawn at all. You know why? I don't actually care about him. I have no attachment to the old EU, and I have never rated my Star Wars based on how 'awesome' or 'badass' it is, because I don't have a penis for a brain. When he does show up it will have maximum impact and I appreciate this.
