Hi! I have a question that I hope you can answer.. During the FanExpo in Vancouver Jared said that he and Jensen lived together for 4 years…and that surprised me. Did he let slip something that they had never said? Haven't they always said that they lived together for a year, during season 4? Although I know there were rumors at the time that things were a little different… But they were just rumors. I also have in mind a recent Gold Panel where they talk about how much they lived together… Unfortunately I don't remember the dynamic in that case, but I think that Jared said something about the time they lived together and Jensen corrected him, maybe… I need to find the panel again because I could be wrong about that. Anyway, I don't think I'm the only one who noticed that Jared said "4 years" at the FanExpo. And I don't think it's plausible to think that he was wrong. Let's not kid ourselves, you can't confuse living with someone for a year with four years. It's very different!

I've been thinking about this exact thing ever since I came across Jared's Fanexpo clip.

In addition to the talk about living together for 4 years, I also find it perplexing to hear Jared say in the DC clip that him and Jensen stayed together during S5 (2009-10) as well. I would've thought mid and post mid S5 would be etched in Jared's memory because of his proposal (~Oct 2009), engagement (~Jan 2010) and wedding (Feb 2010). He sure talks enough about S4 being his favourite because that's the season he met his wife 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ok. I won't pretend to know more than I know, but I can tell you something about whole J2 living together thing. I knew a guy who hung out with the Vancouver group at the time, he also worked in the industry. Well, it was a known fact that the two of them lived together, and that they basically shared everything. They referred to "their" house. "Their" this, "their" that, even "their" dogs. They were very domestic. Now, when I say that I won't pretend to know things I don't know, I say it because this guy never told me much, even though I asked. When I asked if they were actually a couple, he never answered no or yes. He always told me that he wouldn't talk about it. But that they lived together and that they were very domestic is something he told me and there is no doubt that they also had a "peculiar" relationship in the eyes of many people. Unfortunately over the years I have completely lost contact with this guy, I would be curious now after all these years to ask him some more questions.

Well, J2 also apparently shared the house mortgage. There's receipts saved by others that can be found with a bit of searching.

Many people who were/are in the first or second circles of J2 friends don't share very personal stuff

- out of respect for J2 who are genuinely kind and humble humans and

- because of NDAs!

Ohhhhh you don't know that J2 were the first alpha and omega? I'll be honest, it's not much of an infodump, they just are. People were really into knotting fics in J2 livejournal, and then one day in a J2 kink livejournal group someone put out a prompt along the lines of "a world where there are two types of men, alpha males, who can knot people, and bitch males who get knotted and also can get pregnant" and the first omegaverse fic was written in response to that. And also it is so good that honestly, I'm impressed anyone was brave enough to follow it up. Like, I wouldn't have. I would have just gone "damn, that's a cool idea. I wish I'd gotten to that first. No point now, though, when it was already done perfectly the first time." It's got alpha/omega relations as basically a radical feminism allegory, where some people just view knots and anyone with them as inherently evil (much like how TERFs view penises) and it's got really interesting knotting mechanics that like... I get why they didn't get retained to the present because it's too complicated to have lasted, but I think they were really cool. I highly recommend reading it.
