hehe imagine if Deku had a twin sibling who was a big Hawks fan (but is more low-key about it) and coincidentally had a recessive quirk that gave them 2 pairs of retractable wings

AHH i LOVE these platonic au's!

we're going bullet point form!

• izuku has a twin sister? 🤨 her name? isaki!!

• isaki, just like her brother, doesn't hold much height! she's around 5 feet tall, very defensive about it! she's got the same green curly hair but longer! she has freakles and glasses (courtesy of her reading late at night in the dark and unlucky genetics.)

• anyway, contrary to her brother, she has a quirk. she got it when she was five and absolutely went batshit crazy when feathers sprouted out of her back a random saturday morning. she ran straight to izuku and he was no help whatsoever. he screamed louder than her!

• over the years her quirk has grown and developed! for a bit she ended up randomly floating causing a massive panic to her mother and amusement from her brother. her wings had grown into large black wings that resembles a crows.

• she's gained many nicknames from people. from her mother, dove. from her brother, saki and raven! katsuki however calls her shadow for an array of unfortunate reasons but at least she doesn't get the same treatment as her brother!!

• when the midoriya twins turned 12 a new hero made his way onto the scene! an 18 year old with his own company??!?!? suddenly in the top 10 in only 6 months???? WHAT?!?

• hawks having an amazing reputation like this immediately after debuting had him have eyes on him constantly! and isaki wasn't any different!

• while her brother was OBSESSED with all might since they were kids, she had only idolised him a bit. he was 100% her biggest inspiration and thought only the most highly of him but she never wanted to be a hero until she saw hawks! I mean she practically bounced off the walls when she saw someone with a similar quirk!

• over the next 2 years she had slowly built a merch a collection, a pathetic one really because she mostly used her pocket money for food and books while her brother never really used his money for anything but all might!

•her merch collection includes a few posters, 3 hoodies, an action figure and a bobble head as well as some limited edition sneakers that she'll NEVER admit she qued overnight for.

• similar to her twin brother, she also keeps a little notebooks. she however keeps about 4? 2 for hawks and 2 for everyone else. after deciding she'd like to follow her quirkless brother and his deranged frenemy to ua, she starts assessing some of her favourite heroes, namely hawks and his techniques and how to utilise them.

• so from ages 13-15 you'll just see an isaki midoriya flying around in her backyard practicing moves she learnt from hawks via the internet.

• when izuku had started his 10 month intense training with a mystery man izuku hadn't told her about, she decided to start her own 10 month training. hers however contained a gym and her doing combat training with whoever was training there too and up for it! there she met tenya iida! story for another time.

• however, about 5 months into her training, she had particularly drained herself that day. because of this she was barely paying attention to her surroundings. it was quite a shock to her when she had been suddenly grabbed from the ground and sped off about a block away when where she once was!

• who was it? pro hero hawks of course! naturally, isaki was completely star struck. she could not BELIEVE who was standing in front of her right now!!! she was barely listening to him warning her to watch where she's walking so she doesn't get run over by a car (she walked into traffic, whoops!) she snapped out of trance when she heard him say, "nice wings, kid" before he was gone.

•isaki flew home and screamed into her pillow!!! she couldn't believe that happened! HE COMPLIMENTED HER WINGS!!!!!! she was so close to him! practically hugging him! (delusion)

• upon her screaming her mother and brother enter her room, curious, afraid and wanting answers.

• she looks up from her pillow, pink faced and hyperventilating, "HE SAID I HAVE NICE WINGS!!" her wings start fluttering creating a small breeze. it's a small habit she picked up from when she was little. her little family chuckled at her words. "Who??" "That guy from the gym??" "NO HAWKS. I CAN DIE HAPPY."

• isaki is now laying on the ground while her brothers jaw is slack and her mother leaves, giggling to herself.

• "YOU MET NUMBER 3 HERO HAWKS??!!" "YEAH WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY ALMOST WALKED INTO TRAFFIC!!!!" "WHAT?!"

• needless to say, she wore her hoodie and limited edition sneakers to bed that night.

Amethyst. - PART 8

The UA students were called back to the arena after the break, and there were still 16 students left in the competition. Present Mic announced the third challenge—a one-on-one fighting battle.

The reactions among the students were mixed. Some were excited, while others looked nervous.

“Alright, this is it! Time to show what we’re made of!” Kirishima exclaimed, pumping his fists.

Midoriya glanced around nervously. “This is going to be tough… but we have to give it our all.”

I felt Katsuki’s eyes on me. I couldn’t quite tell if he was excited about the upcoming battles, angry, or just his typical Pomeranian-self. When I looked back at him, he quickly looked back to Ms. Midnight. Weird. Maybe he was sizing up the competition, or perhaps he was just curious about if I’d fight for real now. It was hard to tell with Bakugo.

Ms. Midnight stepped onto the stage to announce who would be fighting whom, but before she could even start, Ojiro—one of my classmates whom I had barely spoken to—raised his hand to speak. I was visibly confused when he announced his withdrawal from the competition.

“I can’t in good conscience continue,” Ojiro said firmly.

“Why are you giving up this chance?” Mina asked, her voice filled with surprise and concern.

Ojiro took a deep breath before explaining. “I was in the team with that guy with the purple hair and tired eyes—Shinso. Something was off. I don’t remember much from the cavalry battle, and it feels like I wasn’t in control of my actions. I can’t fight in these conditions, knowing I wasn’t myself.”

The students started murmuring among themselves, the atmosphere filled with curiosity and confusion.

“He must have some kind of mind control quirk,” Midoriya speculated, his eyes widening with realization.

“But giving up just because of that?” Bakugo scoffed. “Pathetic.”

“No, it’s not pathetic,” I interjected, stepping forward. “Ojiro is doing what he believes is right. If he thinks he wasn’t in control, then it’s honorable of him to step back.”

Ojiro nodded gratefully at me. “Thank you, Y/N. I just wanted to be honest. I can’t compete if I don’t know if my actions were my own.”

Ms. Midnight nodded in understanding. “Very well, Ojiro. Your withdrawal is accepted. Now, let’s proceed with the matchups.”

The screen lit up with the tournament bracket, and everyone’s eyes were glued to it. The matchups were announced as follows:

“Looks like I’m up against purple guy myself, great,” I muttered to myself. The thought of facing him, especially after Ojiro’s warning, annoyed me.

As Shinso realized he was up against me, his eyes narrowed, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. Every muscle in his body seemed tense, ready for action, as if he couldn’t wait to prove himself and show that he deserved a spot in the hero course just as much as anyone else.

He didn’t say a word, but the intensity of his gaze at me spoke volumes. I knew that this guy wanted to beat me, badly. He’d been bitter ever since, thinking I had it easy because of my family name. This wasn’t just a match for him; it was a chance to challenge the status quo and prove his worth. And he was ready to do whatever it took to make that happen.

His quirk was good for defense, but mine was both defense and offense. I couldn’t allow myself to lose. I glanced around, wondering if Hawks was still near, watching me from somewhere. He always said he had faith in me, but I knew he wouldn’t let me off easy if I screwed this up.

Denki patted me on the back with a grin. “You’ve got this, Y/N! Just don’t let him get in your head.”

“Yeah, show him what you’re made of!” Mina chimed in, giving me a thumbs up.

Bakugo, still glaring, stomped over with a snarl. “Don’t screw this up, Frostburn. If you can’t handle this guy, you’re even weaker than I thought.”

I shot him a sharp look, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks. “Don’t worry, Bakugo. I won’t lose.”

From the corner of my eye, I caught Shoto’s gaze. He was staring at me with a cold, unreadable expression before quickly looking away. I couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but it didn’t matter right now.

Facing Shinso would be tough, but I needed to stay focused and trust in my own strength. My plan was simple: don’t answer him, no matter what. If I could keep my cool and use my ice flames to either control the battlefield or hit him hard enough, his mind control wouldn’t matter. I’d make sure he had no choice but to leave the arena defeated.

But even as I tried to focus on the upcoming match, Hawks’ warning echoed in my mind. He had hinted that there was a threat I needed to be aware of. I looked around. Was it one of the students? A teacher? Or maybe someone in the audience? The uncertainty gnawed at me, adding another layer of tension.

I had to stay sharp, not just for this fight but for whatever might be lurking in the shadows.

“Y/N!” Midoriya’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. “Remember, stay focused and don’t respond to him.”

I nodded, appreciating his concern. “Thanks, Midoriya. I’ll be careful.”

As I stepped into the arena, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. But for now, I had to put those worries aside and concentrate on the battle at hand. Shinso was waiting, and I couldn’t afford to be distracted.

The arena was buzzing with anticipation as I stepped into the ring. Shinso stood across from me, his eyes narrow and calculating. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel every eye in the stadium on us.

“This is it,” I muttered to myself, steeling my nerves. “Don’t let him get to you.”

Present Mic’s voice boomed through the arena. “Let the match begin!”

Shinso immediately spoke up, his voice calm and commanding. “Why don’t you just give up now, Todoroki? You know you can’t beat me.”

I bit my lip, resisting the urge to respond. Instead, I focused on my hands, letting a frosty fog form around them. I needed to be ready for anything. I knew his quirk involved brainwashing, but I wasn’t sure if he had another trick up his sleeve or was good in hand-to-hand combat. I had to be prepared.

I considered my options: icing the battlefield could give me control over the terrain, making it harder for him to move and giving me an advantage. Creating ice barriers would provide cover and disrupt his line of sight. Or, I could attack him straight away, hoping to overwhelm him before he could use his quirk.

“Silent treatment, huh?” Shinso smirked. “That won’t save you.”

He continued to taunt me, but I managed to stay silent, focusing on maintaining my defenses. The crowd watched in tense silence, aware of the stakes.

Then, Shinso’s voice took on a different tone, one that hit closer to home. “Do you really think you belong here? Even your own brother can’t stand you.”

The mention of Shoto’s disdain pierced through my defenses. The strained relationship with my brother had always been a sore spot. Before I could stop myself, I snapped back, “That’s not—”

My mind went blank. I felt my body freeze, not from my quirk, but from Shinso’s mind control. I couldn’t move, couldn’t think for myself. His quirk had taken hold.

“Now, walk out of the arena,” Shinso commanded.

My feet moved against my will, dragging me towards the edge of the arena. The crowd gasped, realizing what was happening. My classmates were sitting on the tribune, their faces filled with shock and concern.

“Y/N, fight it!” Midoriya yelled from the stands, his voice filled with urgency.

“Don’t let him control you!” Uraraka shouted, her hands gripping the railing tightly.

Kirishima jumped to his feet. “Come on, Y/N, you’re stronger than this!”

Even Shoto, usually so composed, looked genuinely surprised. His eyes widened, and for a brief moment, his cold facade cracked, revealing a flicker of worry. He hadn’t expected me to fall for Shinso’s mind tricks just because he mentioned him.

Their voices pierced through the fog in my mind, and Hawks’ warning echoed once more: “Find people you trust.”

I heard my classmates and as much as I wanted to listen to them, it didn’t work. I was close to walking out of the battlefield.

Bakugo didn’t understand why I had fallen for Shinso’s Brainwashing in the first place, more he didn’t understand why I wouldn’t fight more against it until- his eyes opened wide as he remembered the conversation between icyhot and deku.

“Frostburn!” Bakugo yelled, his voice cutting through the haze. “Don’t hold back, show them your real strength! You can control it, I know it!”

His words struck a chord deep within me. The fierce determination in his voice, the unyielding challenge—it all resonated. Bakugo knew I always held back. He had heard enough to understand my fears and insecurities.

The sudden outburst from Bakugo caught everyone off guard. My classmates exchanged confused glances. Bakugo, known for his abrasive personality and general disdain for others, especially showing support, was cheering me on. It was a side of him they hadn’t seen before.

“Did Bakugo just… encourage someone?” Kaminari whispered to Sero, his eyebrows raised in disbelief.

“I must be dreaming,” Mina muttered, her eyes wide with surprise. “Since when does Bakugo cheer for anyone?”

With a surge of willpower, I fought against Shinso’s control. My eyes glowed purple for the first time ever. The crowd started freezing as the temperature dropped all of a sudden. Shoto, in particular, noticed it was coming from me. The frosty fog wasn’t just coming from my hands—it seemed like my entire body was emitting an icy aura.

Shoto, alarmed by the sudden drop in temperature and the change in my appearance, started to stand up, his face filled with concern. He looked ready to stop the match, afraid of what I might do.

Bakugo noticed Shoto’s movement and shouted, “Stay out of it, Icy-Hot! Trust her, damn it!”

Within a second, I raised my arm and fired ice flames from my hand. The force propelled me back to the center of the field. The crowd erupted in cheers as I landed gracefully.

I looked at Shinso, who was visibly shocked. “You thought you could control me? No one can.” I said, my voice cold and resolute.

With a powerful blast, I directed my ice flames at Shinso, freezing him in place and pushing him out of the arena field. The victory was mine.

The crowd erupted in cheers, breathing heavily, I fell to my knees, a smile spreading across my face. I looked up at Bakugo, who smirked and mumbled to himself, “I knew it.”

Shoto was visibly surprised, first by Bakugo’s outburst to stop him and second by how I had controlled my ice flames. He had expected me to lose control, but instead, Shinso was only lightly frozen. In fact, Shinso could already move again, shaking off the frost.

Present Mic’s voice boomed over the speakers, “Y/N Todoroki is the wins!”

As the crowd’s cheers began to fade, Shinso walked over, still shaking off the last remnants of frost. He looked at me with a mixture of frustration and respect.

“You really are something, Todoroki,” he said, his voice still calm but now tinged with genuine admiration. “I underestimated you.”

I smiled weakly, still catching my breath. “You did pretty well yourself, Shinso. Your quirk is no joke.”

He nodded, a slight smirk forming on his lips. “I guess, next time I’ll be better tho.”

I extended my hand to him, which he took after a brief moment of hesitation. “I’m counting on it.”

He smiled while shaking my hand firmly. “Don’t let up, Todoroki. You can win this thing.”

“I want a baby,“ your boss, Deku, the near-CEO of media conglomerate AllMightco, says randomly one day, halfway through your lunch break (that he demanded you spend with him), and in the middle of your well-earned silence after a long conversation about whether Bakugo needs antidepressants.

You can only gape at his words, close but not too close to where he’s seated at one of the little armchairs he has in his office for any business casual meetings that require somewhere cozy to sit in spite of any fighting words that may be spit (and for fucking, you’re rather quite aware).

“Maybe it’d be… good for me. I love kids and, I think, I think,” he continues, stuttering like he always does when he’s nervous, excited, high, his tone questioning despite his making of it a statement. “it would give me a break from work?”

All you can do is laugh at the question, dryly, in disbelief, unsure of whether he’s being serious or just sharing some secret, wistful dream. You decide to tell him the truth either way.

“You can’t have a baby just because you want time off.”

He ignores you, though.

“I have all this money, and what for…?” he waves his shaky hands, “I could have a family. I’d change diapers and buy toys and take them to the beach.”

(Though just last week, he was fighting the board for more funds, screaming in that raspy voice he always develops after working through the night that he’d give up any and all vacation time for the foreseeable future if it meant keeping Toshinori Yagi in a position, any position, at the company for the next five years.)

You throw your laptop aside and stand up from your wilted salad and grapefruit soda that’s now sweating on the coffee table to walk around the edges of his desk. You throw a leg over one sharp corner, the exposed part of your ankle brushing his knee as you address him directly.

“And who would be having this child, Deku?“ you ask. “An ex? A surrogate? Ocha—“

He gives you those eyes, slouching down into himself, reaching out to pull your butt of his table and grip the back of your thighs to pull you in between his legs. You can feel the length of his overgrown green curls brushing your fingertips as you put your hands on his stiff shoulders to keep yourself from falling right into him.

“Me? Izuku,” you clarify, (though you always call him Deku), “me? What do you think? I’m just gonna say yes, no warning, no nothing? We’re not even dating, sweetie.”

—and just last week Kirishima offered to drive you to the clinic with him to tested, though you’re not going to bring that up now, even if you know Deku already knows you’re sleeping around. He is too.

He closes his eyes, resting the back of his head against the heavy, red leather of his office chair. The stubble on his face is more noticeable than ever; he even has a little knick under his chin from shaving, and you move to brush your thumb against it as he swallows thickly.

“I’m just tired,” he says, blinking his dark lashes into the bags under his eyes,

“I know, baby. But a child is not way to fix that” you say. The for anyone part, you just think.

Deku pouts. He sighs. Then his face relaxes and he sags, his hands falling off you to lay limp in his lap, the silence in the room stretching like salt water taffy from the pier.

i headcanon that katsuki bakugo has a sister.

whether it’s an older sister, a younger sister OR A TWIN SISTER if you will. All i know is in my head he’s got a sister and i NEED to spread that agenda. he needs some serious humbling and it has to be done by woman biologically related to him, shares 100% of his dna, his awful temper, his incessant need to be the best and whatever feelings of self actualisation he possesses. i want her to be a carbon copy of this man but instead of this toxic accumulated hatred for izuku she feels this intense rage when she sees her brother and ADORES tf out of izuku.

Also wait I'm dying at that last part because the "Dad is All Might" agenda reminds me of radiotalk show with Daiki and Miyake where Miyake talks about how his own kid heard him do the "I AM HERE!" and is like "nah sounds different."

Like imagine Little Sister finally giving in to Izuku's hero propaganda and she also absolutely knows Izuku is Pro Hero Deku!! And that he was inspired by All Might! And while All Might's debut and fights aren't quite as cool or good as Deku he's still very cool!

And Toshinori is so touched and while it's been a few years he muscles up for a moment and gives his best "I AM HERE!" and she's just "mmmm I mean nice try dad but All Might's more muscular and his voice is a way deeper and also his hair is way taller."

Inko has to console him for the rest of the day as he sits in the corner sulking. Izuku as the die hard #1 All Might stan forever and also amazing teacher he is sets out to making a powerpoint and full breakdown as to "Why Dad IS in fact Actually the Hero All Might who is WAY better than Deku and is still the greatest hero in the world"

But UGH you have given me even MORE brain worms. Like: Toshi picking up both his kids despite his age. Izuku flustering that he's too big for this and "Dad you're gonna hurt yourself!" while Little Sis squeals from atop Toshi's shoulders. Gran being the one to call Toshi in the middle of the night and being like "You're first born visited me today. I'm too old to clean after your messes, boy. Give him a hug, buy him some hero merch, and give him so damn attention!!!" And when Gran hangs up Toshi is left reeling because what? Hadn't Izuku been the one putting some distance between them? He'd been the one to tell Toshi he was busy, and that he didn't have to wait up, and that it was fine because him and Inko probably had their hands full with the new ba- oh goddamnit he's screwed up hasn't he?

Japan’s concept of confession and why Ochaco might not confess

“Confession” is a big deal in a country as subtle as Japan. Not all people have the courage to confess, but when starting official relationships confessions are often expected. This is what I know confessions to be like in the world of manga: Person A talks alone with Person B and shares with them the secrets of their heart. “I like you please accept my feelings.” This usually ends either with them going out or A being rejected by B. The usual reason for the rejection is “I like someone else.”

I’ve been having some more ideas about the day Izuku fell into Kacchan’s arms and how what Kacchan did for him was almost confessional in a way. He told Izuku what was in his heart, why he bullied him and that no matter how much he tried, he just couldn’t escape him. He called him “Izuku” and we saw the impact this had on Izuku’s face. 

Izuku just couldn’t believe that Kacchan was calling his name properly for the first time in 12 years, it completely shocked him, and after apologising for everything, he told Izuku, “Come home, let’s do this together. We need to help each other in this fight against AFO.” 

The conclusion of this confession was that Izuku acquiesced to 1-A’s request for him to return, but it was only really possible because his attachment to Kacchan triumphed over his motivations to stay away. It was Kacchan who broke down his walls with his apology. It was Kacchan who filled him with hope that things would be better, and Kacchan who finally hammered into Izuku how important it was for him to be part of the collective. That his inclusion was very wanted and needed, and that he in turn can rely more on everyone as well. That together, they can push forward, trusting in and helping each other.

I think what hurt Izuku the most during his solo arc was being away from his friends, but especially Kacchan. Because that day in the rain, he literally gave up on his solo vigilante mindset for him. After hearing Kacchan’s unbelievable words he had patiently longed to hear for years, it was impossible for Izuku to stay away from him any longer. As he passed out, he stumbled a few steps towards Kacchan who, without missing a beat, caught him in his arms and gently held him. This embrace told us “From now on it’ll be different. I’m gonna be here for you, Izuku.”

So to recap all of that... Kacchan became vulnerable and spilled what was in his heart, Izuku accepted his desires, with it all culminating in them becoming closer. Which is just like a successful romantic confession!?

I think after watching this all go down, something inside Ochaco clicked. A lot of the class are rushing over to Izuku when Kacchan catches him because they’re just so worried about him, but a few of them, Ochaco included, stay standing back. It doesn’t make much sense at all. But we’re given a zoom in of her without knowing any of the thoughts going through her mind.

They got Izuku back, but she doesn’t really seem all that happy. Momo says to her “this is just the first obstacle we aren’t done yet” and she agrees. Ochaco knows that there’s still more they as a group need to do for Izuku to make his return happen. But the fact that there’s a few panels dedicated to zooming in on her staying put, her almost emotionless face (mirroring Shoto’s) while she’s watching Kacchan save Izuku and his new unbridled intimacy he has with him - could be telling us that there’s something else she’s processing.

Is this moment somber for her because she realised the person Izuku needs the most is none other than the person he has openly admired since she first met him? The very same person who always bared his fangs at Izuku because he was scared him getting close?

Was Ochaco witnessing the beginning of something new between them and suddenly finding herself sidelined as a contender for Izuku’s affections?

Somehow… this could be what it was all about. And that’s why I think there’s a good chance Ochaco gave up her crush on Izuku for good when she witnessed Katsuki return his love and embrace him after that emotionally-charged apology. After this, a more defined distance between her and Izuku appears visible in their next scene together. A respectful distance of Izuku’s own choosing.

It was like a definitive line had been drawn out that can’t and perhaps shouldn’t be crossed. Maybe they both understood that the person Izuku wanted close by his side has always been Katsuki. That desire wasn’t simply a pipe dream to Izuku anymore, it had become reality. And who is Ochaco to get in the way of that?

And then it’s almost like she is bookending Katsuki’s confession to Izuku with a confession of her own about Toga, putting a close to the Izuocha chapter and she makes a comment which feels double in meaning. “I guess that means we are the same.” or You love a boy, just like I might love a girl. (To put it bluntly)

And Izuku remembers this line again after he gets separated from Kacchan and Ochaco is telling him to go. Go back to Tenko. Go back to your Kacchan.

The concept of “knowing how someone feels because you love them and always watch over them” comes up from time to time in manga. In a way, that’s also a reason why Kacchan and Izuku understand each other as deeply as they do and they aren’t afraid of showing it off. They were always watching each other from a safe distance and learning things about each other in this way. I think during chapter 322, this concept is what was happening to cause such a realisation in Ochaco. (And it’s also for this reason Tsuyu, who never had feelings for Izuku, still doesn’t get it.)

It was hard for her, knowing everything she does about Izuku’s deep attachment to Kacchan, to learn that Izuku’s affections for him weren’t one-sided and they were now closer than ever before… That’s why I don’t think she’ll want to get in the way by confessing anymore. If Kacchan’s apology was intended to be compared with a romantic confession, then Ochaco is probably aware that Izuku already “has someone he likes”… and that person isn’t her.
