but anywho, we're almost a month into Ivoire chapters, so I'd like some feedback! how do you guys like it? do you hate it? what questions do you have!

i can't promise i'll answer all the questions, but i do like to read your guys' thoughts, they really do help in the end

ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: BALMAIN — IVOIRE

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. I’ll try my best to describe the scents but I will always suggest for you to go and smell them yourself before purchase. if you want to try these perfumes, please test or get a sample before committing to the bottle. picture credits to all owners.

notes:

tubereuse de nuit, vetiver, turmeric, grapefruit, solar orange blossom, suede

my scent experience:

the fragrance opening is a very heavy white floral scent from the tuberose and it's very powdery as well. as it settles, it becomes woody from the vetiver, and it slowly starts to smell like leather, which isn't my favorite scent, but I don't mind it. once the perfume dries down, it smells warm from the suede, but it still smells like leather. the best way to describe this scent is someone wearing a leather jacket and is holding a bouquet of white flowers - tuberoses to be exact. I wish I could smell the grapefruit and orange blossom but it's straight up a tuberose and leather scent.

the projection is alright, you can definitely smell it but it's not too strong that it bothers me. the longevity was about 8 hours on me which is pretty good and definitely suitable for day and night. I understand why some people would like this fragrance and I get the appeal, but it's not one that I would gravitate towards immediately and it's not my favorite from the collection. I do think this would be a perfect scent for the colder seasons so if you like warm woody scents, this would work for you. if you don't like the smell of tuberose and/or leather, this is not for you.

additional notes from me:

I love Balmain and I love fragrances so when they relaunched their fragrances, I was so excited to try them out. they released these a few months after I left Paris, so I didn't get the chance to try them out while I was there and I wasn't sure when I would get my hands on them, until my friend bought me the discovery collection, I did ask for it hehe. I didn't test them right away because I remembered Hongjoong saying he was going to give one perfume to each member as there were eight of them, but he did mention that he used Ivoire the other day and said he's keeping that one so that's where I started. I'm still waiting for him to tell us which Balmain fragrance each member has so I can upload more reviews, so Hongjoong if you're reading this, let us know when you get the chance.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes the scent of tuberose and/or leather.

those who want a fragrance that is suitable for day and night.

anyone who wants to try out Balmain fragrances.

So you put three flags for him, and I don't think they can work together.

Ace are someone who don't experience sexual atraction to anyone.

Aro are someone who experience no romantical attraction to anyone

together it's aroace - people who are good just with friendship, and don't want anything more.

And sure there are some aropan (people who just want to have some sex with someone but not a relationship) and acepan (the opposite, want to have a relationship but not sex) people, but all three together...???

Sorry if he is just somewhere on the spectrum and you were trying to show that.

i actually based off their flags from one of my close friends! (since they knew about them and liked vinlo the most) and they're aroace pansexual

to be fair, i'm still learning about how sexualities and spectrums work and i didn't intend it to come off as rude to anyone either, but i felt like there was so little representation of aro in general and i wanted to make a character who are also ace, but not on the sex repulsed end of it

basically, they are on the spectrum, and i'm still learning about aro so i can't really place it just yet, but since i met people aroace who are still pan/bi i feel safe saying it does exist! but do let me know if i said something wrong i would really appreciate it<333

Judge and Jury, Pt. 1

In the sweeping evening of the city, when the smog begins to settle on the streets, steaming off the black asphalt. The  white noise of hustle and bustle falls into the neon wails of sirens, the delicacy of a Tuesday evening settling into the bones of the city as they attempt to ready themselves in the next day of the work and school week.

In the midst of evening sitcoms and night class lectures, the third breaking news story of the last few weeks interrupted a majority of all broadcasts:

“Good evening citizens of Agdoeg, this is Lee Kyung of channel 85 to bring you an update to the ongoing investigation of the Mogul Murders. Over the past few months the Agdoeg Police department have been following a string of murders on prestigious visitors to the city. While the trail had been cold, the investigation has caught fire as of today, as the first amount of usable evidence has been found at the scene of a new victim. Business mogul, Apollo Abdula, visiting the city for the world investment meeting for Jeup Enterprise’s was found mauled to death in his luxury hotel room at the Ivoire la Tour. For the first time since the string of murders occurred their suspect has left substantial evidence. Here’s Inspector Park Shin-woo of the Agdoeg Police Department with a statement:...”

The screen then cuts to a press conference held in front of the precinct where Inspector Park, accompanied by Superintendent General Soh Namjoon, Asst. Inspector Cho Taewon and Lead Detective Kakuzo Black, are stationed on and next to the podium, addressing the reporters in their presence.

“Today’s discovery of Apollo Abdula by Ivoire la Tour staff has led to the biggest break in our case following these string of murders.” Inspector Park begins,  “We do believe that Abdula’s murder is tied to the other four, and with the evidence gathered today we do suspect that it is a supernatural’s doing. Upon processing of the scene, we have reasons to believe that it may have been a canine-like, creature attack. And because of Apollo Abdula’s underground ties, we have reason to believe that this attack, and the others may have been gang related. With that being said, the Agdoeg Police department will be opening and active investigation on a specific group known on the streets as the ‘Howlers’ and any rumored or owned business in association with the group.” Park goes on to close the pre-written announcement, and continues on, “we are dedicated to eradicating the gang issues that have come to over run our beloved city, and we as a police force will do whatever we can to insure the safety of our citizens, and in this moment, the safety of those who come to visit our beautiful city. And we ask you if you have any information if you see anything, hear anything, or something isn’t right that you please call the Agdoeg Police Department. All tips will be followed up on. Thank you.” 

Inspector Park repeats the announcement in English, and is replaced by Lead Detective Black to repeat the announcement in Japanese before the screen is returned to the news anchor:

“Superintendent General Soh has stated on the record that all signs point to this specific group, and they will be giving updates on the investigation as it moves forward, as well as enhancing police presence in certain areas. This has been Lee Kyung on Channel 85, ‘watch us work for you.’” 

Summary: A string of hits carried out by Alucard Jeup on Dragan Jeup’s command has caught the attention of the APD. Because of the amount of police presence at the scene, and the trail catching up to the Night Blood’s fast, the most recent hit was staged to seem like a specific animal-like attack. Due to the enhanced gang activity, this has led to the APD’s assumption that the Howler’s may be involved. 

Police presence in the streets at well known gang territory has increased. APD members have been forced into working overtime on any leads and tips that come in. Howler members are advised to keep their heads down, while simultaneously trying to find out who framed them. Though a little birdy may lead them to a pond of lotus…maybe.

Session 14:  We’re back again, this time with all but two of our players!  So, this session was a major information gathering mission.  In order to get information from the group that stole the keystone, the party has to somehow spring one of their members from the high security prison (the one they left for dead months ago).  Starting with talking to an elderly dwarf and her cat that lived near the prison, and being reluctant to walk into the prison as themselves, the party decided to see if they could get lucky and get a glimpse of the warden at a favorite tea spot, the Ugly Mug.  While the warden was not there, the party did meet an acquaintence of hers, a wizard lawyer who runs a scroll shop nearby.  After failing to get “purple tea” they were shocked that the little tea boutique overcharged for everything.

They then made their way to the Gasey Gnoll, a cheaper tavern, in order to look for prison guards to get more information.  After buying a round for a group of guards and attempts at flirting, they learned about the last time someone escaped from the prison a few decades ago (Roben the Wood elf busting out his goliath friend, Little Jim; at least if you believe the version that made it to theaters).  They also learned that the prison has some sort of protections against magical incursions.

Towards the end of the session, the party decided to split up to gather a few last bits of information.  Our druid, cleric, and paladin went back to the neighbor to talk to her cat, Snowball.  After paying the proper deference in scritches, they learned that she is a master at catching rats and crows near the prison.  As it should be.  The other half of the party went back to the Codex Ivoire to ask their librarian friend about the warden herself.  They didn’t get anything new there, but on the way to meet back up, our rogue went alone to the seedy bar from last session.  She picked the bartender’s brain about the man that Nyssa sold her shard of the keystone to, a man that turned out to be connected to the warden...
