No i understand you completely 😭 people like to paint me as big and aggressive because i am tall and that i can seriously hurt them if i want to. Remember when i told you we set up the stage for a performance? And we had to carry equipment? Jdndjd i wanted to explain it more detailed but im on my bed and my eyes are beginning to droop so I'll just say one technical thing about this first song. It's a jazzy piece that has a lot of syncopation. Idk if ive already talked about that or i just think i have become i did BUT THEN TUMBLR CRASHED 😭😭😭 BUT syncopation in a nutshell means something is off beat. If you want to try it out, you can count 1-4 out loud and clap woth your hands faster or slower than the pace of your counting. Whatever beats that fall out of the numbers are syncopations!!!! HAHAHHA ok ok they could be syncopations given the context.

I was really excited to hear your thoughts on this one because this song is actually more unique than the first one i think HAHAH jus cause its time signature is 5/4. Just to give you an idea, im pretty sure most pop songs, and im 99% certain that all the songs in the playlist you shared to me are 4/4. This basically means the beat/rhythm of the music can be divided into 4 parts. Usually the strongest beat in a 4/4 song is 1 then theres and accent or slightly strong pulse on 3. You could try counting that. Strong on 1, slightly strong on 3. Thats the 'conventional' meter.

Then inversely, if the accent is strong on 2 and a lil on 4, those songs are usually reggae. Try it. If it makes sense lol HAHHAHAH

Now 5/4 since its uneven is quite tricky. You basically treat the division of the beat as 3/4 + 2/4, both meters individually would have their accent on their first counts, so if you put it together it would be 1 & 4 with strong pulses. 😭 I hope I didn't confuse you with math. Youre good at math but idk if im good at explaining.

Also just an additional thing in music 4/4 is read as four-four, 5/4 as five-four not like a fraction. your head will be chopped off if you put a line between your numbers in the time signature so HAHAHAHA now you know lol there's just really no other way to write it so lol

Anyway, i was hoping you'd say that 'omg there was something weird about that second song but idk what' and then i would go talk about the time signature but you didnt so i explained it anyway HAHAH. caly pls answer, u always hav nice words to say TT. ive been in a slump n actually skipping my classes and not turning in work n its like the most important time of year: finals n NOW im slacking off??? i wish it made sense but ive never felt so bad before. each yr it gets worse and it SUCKS. i hate it here and i want to leave so bad but i keep slacking and j everything always stresses me out. i wish we didnt hav school n sh*t bc of the pandemic but yk.. i cant control it n it sucks. n i used to have sm aspirations n dreams but now everything j sucks. my friend and i were planning on big things for the future but i feel like i cant keep up w time and life anymore... pls send words of wisdom im :((( -naeun sorry im coming back like this but ahh i j rly wanted to hear what u would say :( ik u hav finals and r busy this week but ig i vented haha.. gl caly and how r u :( ahhhh

sweet darling naeun :(( i came as soon as i saw the notif about your ask and just couldn’t not answer :( i’ll be frank with you and admit that i do have been victim to that slump many times before, and i’ve skipped class, skipped work, neglected to study, so so many things. and i have done it during finals season before too. for me, the reason i did it is because i did not know what i wanted out of life. i thought i had these dreams and aspirations that would guide me and make things make sense, and i thought i had everything figured out, so i thought it wouldn’t matter if i slacked off a bit here and there. and now, you’re thrust into an even tougher position between the pandemic and the chaos of finals season. it’s very easy to feel as though you have control over nothing in this environment, but the reality is that you DO have control over lots of things. you have control over what you want to do in life, you have control over whether you can do an assignment or not, you have control over lots of little things.

so even though it seems like the big things are just too big to be reasonable, remember that there are tons and tons of little things. there are small things you can look forward to like seeing the sunrise or watching the sunset and seeing the stars come up. you can look forward to where you will be in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years. where do you want to be? married? working? at home with a small garden and 3 cats? on the road looking for the next landmark? in charge of some company doing big business?

time feels inescapable and seems to roll on without us in these times. it’s easy to feel behind and pained by the thought of not being able to move fast enough or keep up. and it’s easy to get bogged down by the idea of being ‘dreamless’ or without aspirations but those things don’t define us and they can’t define us unless we let them. i went years without knowing what i wanted out of life, and i went years without knowing what my dreams truly were. i was looking too harshly at the small details in the bigger picture. i was trying to construct this perfect idea of a perfect future without taking a step back to see what else the world had to offer. dreams down always need to be intensely specific like ‘i will be a neurosurgeon at this specific hospital’. sometimes they can be as simple as ‘i want to bring joy to people’, and there are so so many things that that could lead to. just because you have hit a bump in the road doesn’t mean that all your tires are flat.

think about the things that make you feel good, the things you enjoy, the conversations you’ve shared with people about your future, the dreams and aspirations you used to have and see where they line up. find the similarities and the common theme, and i guarantee it will lead to something that gives you a sense of peace and certainty.

but most of all, keep your head up and keep fighting. nothing can bring you down if you set your mind to something. it’s easy to get caught up in the expectations you have for yourself, but sometimes you have to start with something as simple as ‘get out of bed at xx time’ or ‘drink x amount of water’ in order to start seeing these positive changes in your expectations for yourself and in your life. you are not alone in these feelings or in this fight. you are so capable and deserving of wonderful things, and good things will come to you for your efforts and hard work, even if they don’t seem evident right now. you have got this, i promise you that, and i’ll always be here to cheer you on and root for you when the going gets rough 💓💓

hi hi! yes traveling was for a good reason, my dad had a business trip and my mom and i tagged a king to singapore! we saw my cousins i haven’t seen in ages and their two sweet frenchies, and i splurged on sanrio items oops. i took so many photos and had so much good food and even went to a cinnamoroll themed cafe ahhh it was so fun. i feel really nauseous and gross lately though but it’s because i’m jet lagged TT

i think it was because god's menu was released around the same bp and svt made their comebacks. same thoughts tho on gm > bd and i was also glad that bd got the wins gm didn't. and same with the streaming mvs while studying : ] ahh, the easily distracted people we are. no, i'm not lactose intolerant so it really took me by surprise. it was a one-time thing. hopefully it doesn't happen again. i can't really say i'm a big fan of ice cream but it's good occasionally yk as a treat to yourself. and ahhh, i miss drinking smoothies. my favorite stall has been closed for nearly two years now, idk if they ever re-opened since our city mall burned down :[

i think it's an nct thing? it's why i never get tired of them bc they're always active in a way. you should've seen how things went down last year! march 127 album, april dream mini-album, may 127 repackage, june wayv album and the whole nct 2020 thing. it was a wild year. about the track, i listened to it once and forgot about it. might give it a few more listens but it might not grow on me at all. yes! wasn't a big fan of hot sauce at first too bc i thought the intro was weird (not jaemin's part, like the first thing that plays). and yes, that hook loops in my head 24/7. i even made it my instagram bio.

- crush is skyrocketing. hes so cute!

- i told c and m ab crush!! they both did it through a guessing game and it was so fun watching them decipher everything. theyre both more supportive than l lol.

- feeling super sad ab graduating. i dont want to leave school now that ive finally made really good friends :(

- been singing a lot of paramore and i think ive genuinely widened my vocal register through that or well, idk, maybe not widened but ive been able to reach notes easier wo going into head voice which makes the songs sound way cooler. i used to think misery business and thats what you get were wayyy to high for me but theyre doable now which is fun. decode is way too high though!!!

Hi, I'm 17 in a week & will be starting my driving lessons. I have my theory booked for a few days after & aim to pass in around 6 weeks, depending on the waiting list for the test, having 3-4 lessons a week. I've had full comp for years, my car (10 years old ) was walloped by an unknown driver reversing in my driveway which caused broken lights and superficial bodywork damage, I've since been told by my insurance company that it's not economically viable to repair it - they would write it off less a 150 excess fee. Apparently, according to my garage this is common practise on any car over five years old. Yet at no time did the insurance company advise me of this so essentially I was paying extra for nothing.
