Sunday Week in Review IV

It has been a really weird week this week. One of those weeks where you don’t feel right but you’re not unwell, but you know you’re not yourself. That’s been me the entire week. As a result, I didn’t read or really do much - but I’m hoping this long weekend will get me out of my funk and back to some sense of normality - whatever that is these days lol 🙃

Plans for Gold Rush: I recently had a re-read and got to have a really good conversation with @gnpwdrnwhiskey about Charlotte and Joel this week, and it really made me realize how much I miss them. So, my plan is to go back and have a good edit of what’s posted - (both my writing and editing style have changed and Gold Rush is wordy in places it has no business being). Going to take the next week or so to do that and get back to the story that brought me to this community and even if it’s me and three other people reading it, I don’t mind - because I love these characters and want to see it through ❤️

The Layover by @goodwithcheese How are we all doing? Have we all recovered from this chapter? Are we prepared for the epilogue that’s coming? This story has been a joy to read and I will honestly be revisiting this one with a permanent place on my fanfics to recommend list! 🙌

This was a delight to get stuck into the opening chapter this week and I’m a suck for an OC. I’m really excited to see how the night plays out for Camila and Joel on the backdrop of Paris.

Late Night Texts by @mvtthewmurdvck Another series that had its last chapter this week and an epilogue on the way. This has all the hallmarks of a good rom-com and another that will be a re-read in the near future. I had an inkling of how this last chapter would play out, but rather than be predictable it keeps you on your toes to a very toe-curlingly sweet ending that will make you want to hug the screen.

Hungry Hearts | Independence Day by @atinylittlepain This is another that will always be on my permanent fanfic recommendation list. Things are reaching a peak between Cherry and Joel and I can't wait to see how things are going to come to heads between the two in the present day.

Supply & Demand by @wildemaven Between this fanfic, @rhoorl’s portrayal of Benny and the influx of Garrett Hedlund posts on my feed this week - I think I’m slowly being converted to the Benny side! This is a truly sweet one-shot that I don’t want to get too into here as it deserves a read to find out yourself how it plays out and how endearing Heidi’s Benny really is. Because even if you’re not a fan, you’re going to want to read more of him! Trust me 🥰

20/20 by @ladamedusoif This popped up on my feed this week and it’s always an instant re-read when it does as it has a place on my favourites list! Joel needs to get his eyes tested and the man needs glasses. However, he really doesn’t want them.

Discussing WIP’s and OC’s - got to indulge with both this week with some awesome mutuals about not only my own, but theirs too! It's always oo much fun hearing other people’s thought processes and bouncing ideas around. Highly recommend it!

Oh hell yeah I'll talk about my geese any day

Geese are really, really silly. A lot of people find them scary, but they can be very sweet and extremely loyal.

My geese will follow me everywhere. If I walk from one side of the land to the other, at a slow pace, they will typically follow in a slow line behind me. During late summer and early fall when green grass is more scarce, I like to take them to parts of the lot that they haven't been to in a while so they can keep up on their greens :3.

If I'm not the one leading, Sebastian, the gander of the group, takes on that role. I took these pictures today, and he was feeling particularly protective of the hens while I was taking these pictures (I was doing really close up pics, something I don't normally do so I don't blame him.) When a goose, especially a gander, is being protective of something, they always position themselves between you and what they're protecting.

Something else people don't realise about geese is that they pay really close attention to body language. A lot of attacks from geese are because people start acting weird around them. They take this like, "this human is not acting like how humans usually act, so I feel uncomfortable." Especially in early spring when they have babies.

...But also, they like to check people. They check every living thing around them more often than not, because they get bored easily and have fun asserting themselves. When alone they do this to each other, but if you're new around, they will try and fuck with you. And if you react how they want, which is usually in backing away, flinching, or even sometimes they're looking for a fight so approaching them the wrong way as well, they will keep going until you're chased off.

Sometimes I use my geese to keep my chickens safe, because getting occasionally pestered by a goose for straying into their grazing grounds keeps them closer together and near their coop, and out of sight of eagles and hawks.

But what's really funny, is if you just... ignore them, as long as you aren't walking towards something they're protective of and you aren't showing signs of stress, they just stop. They fail to check you and that's that, and unless you've really pissed them off beforehand, they'll forget about it. I have a tiny, clueless chicken named Sloppy Joe who doesn't read body language well at all. So whenever a goose checks her they never succeed, because she's too busy not paying attention to notice she's being challenged.

The center focus goose in this picture is Gertrude, or who I like to call Gerdy (I think of Binding of Isaac's boss Gerdy), and she's been especially funny lately.

My geese aren't ever thrilled about being picked up so I don't tend to upset them with holding them if I don't have a reason to. But lately, Gerdy doesn't leave the pen when they're let out. She gets vocal and upset that everybody left without her, and she paces by the gate. There's no reason for this. So I've been picking her up and helping her out, and when she's put back down she happily runs to go meet up with the others, it never fails.

I think she's just been wanting attention. When I first got her she was always a lot more tolerant to being touched and handled. She also likes to stand very close to me and stare at me and shake her head. (Head shaking can be fear, a threat, or excitement. It's hard to tell which it is, but I know her. She's giddy.)

I've been taking their pleasant mood in as much as I can lately, because when December rolls around, they start getting into their pre-mating season funk. Sebastian is a short fuse and the hens are hissy even before they start laying eggs 🙄

I usually have to avoid sitting on the hill like this during mating season, because Sebastian is so unpredictable during those months. But it was nice today and everybody was in a good mood :).

hellooo!!!(sorry in advance for all of the rambling)

first of all, im absolutely gushing from all of the soft moments in ch9: feyd nearly crying from being cared for, paul helping feyd with his nightmares, and feyd being protective/caring in both the breakfast scene and throughout the spice field inspections :333. It was all VERY adorable and paul finally being unhesitating about his sexual relationship with feyd and them communicating (both implicitly with paul reading feyds body language and explicitly with paul making feyd ask for what he wants), it's all very rewarding in general :)

Also, ive just been thinking nonstop about all the stuff going on with paul. so, my first theory about pauls exhaustion was because he was staying up because of feyds nightmares waking up but then i re-read it and saw paul was tired even before they shared a bed, and then i remembered that lack of sleep is a common symptom of pregnancy so thats my leading theory rn, that OR paul is staying up late reading lol. im also so interested in what paul and lady jessica are plotting, they mentioned controlling feyd and learning more about him in the beginning and then theres the date palm scene. I remember in the movies that date palms are definitely on arrakis so my first thought was that feyd was being a paranoid little freak about it but then i thought lady jessica might be trying to assess pauls health or something?? its safe to say im super hyped for the paul POV

I love your questions ☺️. Omg yay!!! I’m so glad you liked the chapter. I always have a crisis of confidence when I post new chapters 🙃. Yesss. The softness. Feyd cutting the fruit and making sure Paul eats was one of my favorite moments from the chapter. It’s so hard to write moments of tenderness from him without it seeming out of character. And then he can never be honest with himself about why he’s doing things or why certain things are making him feel certain ways. Man. This guy. Feyd used his words FINALLY!!! And yes!! I’m so happy for Paul. Starting to enjoy himself. It’s so important.

Okee so here’s what I can say. You aren’t wrong about any of your guesses per say. It’s been such a joy to write from Paul’s pov because he’s a much more emotionally evolved person so I can write him being like “ah yes. This is making me feel this way!”. So one of the biggest reasons for Paul’s exhaustion is that he has been having dreams. Some of them good, some of them pretty disturbing. And yes, we will be seeing them in the next chapter. He is also (not really a spoiler cause it’s in the tags) pregnant! Another big reason! That’s going to be a plot point of the next chapter as well.

Lol the date palm scene!! You’re right on both counts. Feyd is being a paranoid little freak. He’s like “they are speaking in code!!” No you weirdo, they are talking about date palms. However, I am going to give him a little credit because he did pick up on the weird energy of the scene which is basically due to Jessica trying to draw Paul out of his funk. She’s worried about him and thinks he’s not doing well, and she’s trying to cheer him up and also trying to subtly (probably too subtly) signal to Feyd to do the same. Which he kinda gets! Cause he then invites Paul to come with him on inspection and Jessica is like “thank fucking god you are so fucking dense”. To Feyd. Not Paul. Paul can do no wrong in Jessica’s eyes lol.

Anyway! All of your theories were pretty spot on and perceptive!!! Sorry it took so long for me to respond 😔. I’ve been sick this week and it’s been a struggle. I have most of Paul’s chapter finished (it’s sitting at 5,500 words right now 😀). And I hope to edit and post tomorrow!!

Muppets Mayhem may very well be the best thing Disney has done with The Muppets.

It’s something I went into detail in a previous blog (https://tymime.tumblr.com/post/650948217405652992/yknow-ive-pondered-just-why-exactly-everything), but something I’ve been wanting to see in new Muppet projects is a more retro, old-timey feel.

Muppets Mayhem has tons of references to social media and modern music, sure, but it’s all in contrast with the Mayhem themselves- who, as many fans have pointed out, are stuck in the late 1970s stylistically and aesthetically. Heck, with the allusions to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, they feel more like a band from 1967 than they do a band from 1976.

The Electric Mayhem are a time capsule of hippies and psychedelia, and I can tell that the whole point of the series is that they never needed to change or update themselves, because they never have changed and nobody wants them to. Everyone expects them to be groovy. And every time they tried making them change in the series, it ended in failure.

Now, that’s not to say that the members themselves didn’t experience personal growth. Janice and Dr. Teeth in particular went through a lot of soul-searching, and it was surprising to see Dr. Teeth actually lose his cool.

I only have one minor quibble, and it’s how they seem to have forgotten that The Electric Mayhem used to perform jazz standards and do things like name-drop Charlie Parker in The Muppet Show. As weird as it sounds, I’ve observed that rock ‘n’ roll and psychedelic music were actually not part of their repertoire all that often in their early days. It’s a bit puzzling really, considering their trippy costumes.

The band playing Woodstock type music is actually a fairly recent development. In a weird way, it’s difficult to pin down or pigeonhole The Electric Mayhem’s primary genre. It’s a mix of jazz, folk, rock, funk, and rhythm and blues, which I guess is one reason they have such broad appeal.

Floyd in particular was in some ways more beatnik than hippie, and was concerned with being hip and cool, and disparaging of “square” music. If the writers were aware of this, I suspect they didn’t want to make Floyd seem snobby or unpleasant in the show. In fact, I was initially mildly irritated by how accepting they were of all of Nora’s bad suggestions and ideas, until the show basically spelled out that that was the whole point- they were a little too mellow.

I was also surprised by how much I liked the human characters. Human characters in Muppet media from the 2000s onward are typically distracting and boring, and/or gratuitous cameos of celebrities I’ve mostly never heard of. At first Nora and Hannah’s acting seemed a bit artificial, like a lot of 21st century comedy seems to be, but by episode 3 I think the series found its groove and all the human characters felt more natural.

All in all, this series proves how much these characters mean to people, despite mostly being semi-minor characters with little screen time, and it’s interesting to see the writers extrapolate more dimensional personalities from what little they had to work with.

I havent posted on here in forever. Idk what ive mentioned lately. Ive been in Charleston and its fine but not for me. Definitely cool to visit but not to live. Update is im going to visit marie in europe and then maybe go on girls trip and maybe visit my friend in boston and raleigh at some points… actually might just do boston once im settled. Oh and im moving to chicago! Exciting (experience) but its going be cool to be in a city and the culture and diversity im excited

Daughter and Blue Flame Codes of the Nile in 2022 are likely to have linked me into the Andromeda fields and attuned to Aqualine energies. Then in late 2023 the Sound and Mu transmissions continued and we started sound baths in Lake area.

From 2021 and 22 Solar Crystal Grid work at the time, I was studying Ascension and the Crystals. This was pretty activating and important at the time. And further, there was an Etheric Aqualine Crystal structure over the Lake. This was to anchor more Divine Feminine energies. As i understood it there was some kind of bridge and a train possibly had "fallen into the lake" was a rumor but never confirmed my history of the town from anywhere. Interesting how this was, from my own understanding, to help anchor Aqua Light Codes to the area and community.

Recently I went through a heavy purge, got sick, and have been in quite a funk. I went through a weird 3 days of loosing my voice and had to take a leave from the sound baths. And I haven't really gotten healed from all the surgery and am in a limbo. Not knowing which way life will turn. Ive had to completely reevaluate my spirituality, practice and work, as well as inner identiy/personality. In which I have gotten my foot back, and had a strong inner union of masculine, feminine and inner child with higher self.

I was gifted also months ago but during these activations a Pink Rose 🌹 Crystal Flower. Accessing memories from those places they are stored: Crystal, Stone, Blood and Stone.

During the weird, or more so during and after, the Grandmother-Mother energies is what helped me get through it. There is an auric upgrade to the shield and merkaba field. 4/8/16/36. Been seeing a lot of 12/24. And 9/11 or 11/9. Sequencing the Eye of God concepts. And crown type enegies also. The staff and rod are visualized. The 12d sheild is becoming seen and better stabilized. Able to expand to much larger fields of command or influence around me.

Craving Friends.

Today, not even just today lately, ive been in a funk. I have no idea why.. i know this past week the house was down for the count with the flu. That was not fun, along side if THREE snow days, holy cow you never notice how good structure and routine can do for a child until its off the rocker for a couple days.

Anyways, everyone is getting back to normal and healthy again! I have been pounding on all these different ideas i can do, i have so many and no idea where to begin with any of them, how the fuck is that. I'm gonna fucking getting there, damn it! I think i mentioned in my other post that i was gonna start up a Etsy store within the next two weeks. I'm staying focused on projects ill be posting on that coming up. Stay tuned.

I guess i got a little side tracked, lol basically all i do now a days is stay home constantly sourrounded by my parents and little man. Sure i get out and see co workers or my bestie or whatever but i miss going out with the other friends and getting into some mischief, and not even that anymore but just being with those people the energies, the spontaneousness, the loud noises from all us shouting stupid shit at each other all night.

I miss being out and meeting people as the night went on, talking to strangers about quick little previews of your life--connecting with new faces. I use Tiktok to go live and do these things, but im more of a person that like wants to know you in real life too. How do you act with real people in the real world? Going live is fun.. comes with alot of kind people, people that arent happy with themselves and make some nasty comments, people begging for friends, etc

Its a weird world we live in, as a kid i never imagined life like it is, but how the hell are we supposed to know or imagine it,lol. A bunch of broken people thrown into a pool to get along, make money and compare...compare...compare.

I think i am going to just start to like journal on here, if youre a follow. Thank you for your support. I hope to be a writer of some sort someday!

I stayed up too late again

Ive honestly been in a bit of a funk for about a week now

My schedule and routine is wack, I'm tired all the time (probably because of irregular sleep and eating) and I just do not have the energy or willpower to cook myself something so I haven't done that in a long while

Tend to play videogames for way too long if I decide to play them (like today)

So yeah that's been kinda shitty

In other news it's my birthday today (it's 2 am rn) and I'm officially 26 years old

hectic one! ive been in another weird ocd funk lately, and it makes me waaaay overanalyze conversations and count my words which is annoying. but im done w schoolwork! next week is spring conferences, which i'm required ti do as a freshman. But my grades r good as usual (i love bragging abt them)

33. Do you prefer warm or cold weather?

cold easily, i can always bundle up. even if the pain is annoying, the heat and depression of summer just isn't worth it. i love how hectic yet calm the winter is! keeps me on my toes :
