How do u find cool stuff on flickr ;_;

i search keywords that im interested in go to advanced search and use their "date taken" feature to narrow down the most recent date posted, i usually go for 2013-2014 at the highest but it rly depends on what u want and what ur looking for! i open like 20 tabs (lol) of all the pics in the search results that i like and then see if the pics are in any groups or galleries (galleries are more lucrative tbh!) and then check out the posters page, their likes, if they've made any galleries, sometimes who they follow if i rly like their work. then i follow accounts ive already gone through which makes the posting process easier cus i can tell if i've already seen something after 3,000 posts on here lol BUT its also super useful for the search function cus a "from people you follow" option will come up where the pics from ur followed have all been tagged with the keyword in some way, its amazing how much stuff i miss (and some flickr accounts have like 80 pages and i just cant be bothered to look at all of them). but thru all this i truly never ever run out of cool stuff to find it's genuinely a problem at this point i have dozens on dozens of flickr tabs open and my computer is going to flip me off and die any day now 🫢

What are your favorite geographic regions of Texas?

BEST question!!!!!!

1. Hill country. One of the most gorgeous parts of TX—karst topography and amazing caves!!! bats!!! and this area was volcanic during the cretaceous, you can almost imagine the island chain it was back then while driving thru the hills. the guadalupe river snaking between cliff faces?? heaven. AND this part of TX has the best trees, no contest. who cares about coastal live oaks when you have 400 y/o+ bald cypress?? and american sycamores reflecting the water??? giant pecans?? i could spend an eternity here. maybe i will…. idc if my car stalls going up the hills and ppl behind me get mad <33

2. WEST TX. 🎶is the best texas… it’s a beautiful, indescribable place. and the geology???? holy shit. i will admit ive never even been to big bend before or the more mountainous regions, but i’ve driven close enough!!!! and my bestie visited recently so i claim his memories. people forget this version of TX exists and they SHOULD. so we can keep it to ourselves!!! aguja and javelina formations my beloveds ❤️ you’d find yourself lost there and never regret a moment. i love that barren ass drive from TX to new mexico tbh

3. Post Oak Savanna: weird one, i know!!!! but im a bitch for flat land. i may be one of the only ppl that can drive thru the great plains and feel right at home. i like seeing what’s around me!! mountains are scary. plus, god…. soft, rolling hills south of san antonio, seas of golden grass, old oaks standing as monuments, having been there longer than anything colonial-made in the US. absolute fucking behemoths. you wouldn’t understand this until you approach these things—it’s like the moment you enter that massive, widespread canopy, the world is quieter. the trees almost speak to you. yes i’m in love with them. beneath your feet and everywhere you go, fields of petrified wood 🥺

plus. this is one of the most ecologically important areas of TX, surprisingly. its an example of one area that’s supposed to be governed by fire. of course, now that’s no longer occurring, shrubification, tree encroachment… it used to serve as a sort of bridge for wildlife, but now it’s a fence. sad. anyways, you can tell by the trees they were made to withstand fire. hard, aggressive bark on live oaks.

interestingly, the ones south of the hill country are mixes of q. virginiana (coastal live oak) and q. fusiformis (escarpment oak) and should be the TX state tree in my humble opinion. pecans are found literally everywhere, these are found only here!!

1. i made this during my first year of college, i wanted to do something kind of warm and sweet as a submission for my club's art magazine. i dont think anyone cared abt it too much bc the lgbt population there is. Small to say the least lmao. but i still liked how it turned out! i cant discredit myself for trying to experiment!

2. WHEWWW this one was an art trade and it took 2 months (i felt so bad and still do) and was the first time in a long time doing a big rendered piece so i was super nervous and unsure how i wanted it look. but i think it turned out ok!

3. i love looking back on the very first art from 2 years ago i made of my first active (and still) dnd pc, mimyr!! i still didnt know how i wanted to draw firbolgs' ears yet so you def see a transition there. shes grown and ive grown. i love her 🥺 old on left, newest on right for reference

oh ummmmm hm. if im feeling insecure recently its Pacer by Doechii or IT GIRL by Aliyah's Interlude, if im feeling like Sad and i need to cry but i cant its Into the Ocean by Blue October, if i need full distractions though from my sadness i throw the B52s on (usually my "dont kill my vibe" playlist thats like70s-00s pop & disco & related songs vibes; i really cant pick one song from this playlist or even the B52s bc im such a "put the song on and let whatever happens happen" type of person - OH AND AS I WAS WRITING THIS I REALIZED since its come out ive started listening to Alligator Bites Never Heal (Doechii) in order all the way thru 0 interruptions and that album gives me all the spectrum of emotions and even a good cry sometimes depending on the headspace I'm in

I'm someone who's friends with The Gash right now and am super conflicted about it all. I've never had a problem with it, but I have seen have how outwardly mean it can be, I'm not entirely surprised about how it's treated you and your partner, and I'm very sorry for that. I'm very conflicted because it is my friend and while we don't agree on everything, I still value it. I don't say this to justify anything it has done, ESPECIALLY the pro-para stuff (and the sudden recent rise of that all over tumblr??) and just to speak on my own experience thus far.

I WILL say I find it incredibly disconcerting and poor taste that its partner now lists being only Native, despite always including the fact that he is a white person who only recently discovered Native heritage and reconnecting with that?? I've seen white people do that before, especially on tumblr, and it's honestly such shocking poor taste. Sorry for the long message, thank you if you've read this and I hope you the best.

I will finish all of my wips i will break the cycle and then i will be free and never again be plagued by thoughts about the Characters in Situations. i know this sounds like a cop out answer but i genuinely with all my heart believe that i will eventually get to all 17 of my wips this is simply the extent of my hubris

16. What are your writing strengths? dialogue i think. and smut idk can smut be a strength. tbh i haven't received a lot of constructive feedback on my writing outside of fan spaces so i dont feel qualified to answer this

What are your writing weaknesses? over-explaining/over-describing characters actions and motives and emotions in a scene. i feel like this is smth that doesnt come across in my final drafts as much anymore bc ive been actively working on it but this is the thing i consistently struggle with during the process. also i tend to be kind of lazy with research which isnt the best quality to have when you write mostly in historical settings. but with fanfic i feel justifed in only spending one hour instead of three reading up on life in 18th century Paris since i do have a life to get back to at some point. if i was writing for publication i would try harder

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I do it, poorly. almost exclusively French in this fandom, and a little Italian. I do my best to check multiple translation sources (from real speakers if possible) and find example sentences to base my grammar on. but again, this is a hobby so I don't hold myself to the same standard I would if I was doing it professionally

19. First fandom you wrote for? pretty sure my first fanfic was that crossover i mentioned earlier so. all of those

So I am learning Korean as well, I am able to read and write...I understand the Hangul chart fully I mean and I have studied most of the grammar as well...and I am a bit confused on how I should move forward...Do you have any Ideas? Since you are a b1 in Korean...hehe

first i wanna say my b1 level is self-assessed. i mean, i feel pretty confident about this assesment, but i havent taken an official test or the topik yet.

i feel like moving between levels is the hardest part tbh...i felt like i hit a wall when transitioning to intermediate..but what i found helped me the most was really figuring out where i was lacking and working on that. just doing random lessons isn't helpful and i think you really need to structure your learning in a way that's super personal to you.

-for me, i know listening and speaking are my hardest areas..so i put a lot of focus on listening by listening to podcasts and watching youtube videos about things i like (makeup, skincare, kpop content with my fav groups) and use active listening..i usually watch these videos more than once too, one time without eng subs and then with to gage my initial understanding. i also take note of new vocab or grammar points. make sure with content like this though that it's just above your level. listening to things where you don't understand literally anything is not helpful. you need to be able to get the jist of what is going on even if you don't understand every single word/grammar.

-i also do tutoring once a week (sometimes twice if i have the time. i use the website preply) and we focus on my speaking and comphrension. she gives me sentence building and dictation hw too. i also ask her for regular assessments and what she thinks i can improve on. i just joined my korean language club at school so that's another way ive been exposing myself to korean and working on my speaking. i alsoooo speak out loud..anything i'd think or say to myself in english, i try to say in korean. not only does it help me get comfortable forming sentences, but it's a good way to pinpoint vocab/grammar i may not know.

-i try to make time each week to write in a diary (i used to post on here but not as often recently lol) and i also read in korean on different news sources. im slowly working my way thru 죽고 싶지만 떡볶이는 먹고 싶어 as well.

i guess tdlr; assess via a tutor, teacher, or just yourself and figure out what areas you're lacking in and build a plan around that. if you feel like you've progressed outside of just relying on textbooks, find other ways to supplement your learning like tutoring, language club, youtube/netflix, etc. exposure/immersion is key.

may I ask what your hair texture is like if that drying method works for you 👀 mine is 2C-ish with dry ends, and my products aren’t always consistent so your way sounds like a dream. Does it ever make your curls stringy? How often do you wash it? Tysm if you answer, I’m desperate to escape the hold my hair routine has on my life lol

no problem at all and i hope i can help somehow!!! tbh im not super involved in the hair care world beyond what ive figured out via experimentation when it comes to managing my own hair; and thru further research i'd say my hair is somewhere between 2b and 2c, but i'll still share my "routine" (if u can even call it that lol) if it helps!! i wash + condition my hair every 2-3 days, and i try to avoid leave-in products as much as possible due to sensory issues (also they tend to be costly as FUUUUCK). I shaved my head about 2 years ago and since then have challenged myself to see how it grows w/o any interference from products and heat tools mostly from a point of curiosity. it's been going pretty well though i could definitely use a little trim at this point cuz ive been seeing a decent amount of split ends recently lol. if i'm honest i have a hard time gauging what ""good"" hair looks like because im perfectly happy with having a buncha fly-aways and inconsistent hair texture and whatnot. i just use whatever shampoo/conditioner is affordable at the time without making my hair feel like coarse straw, which i've found is pretty individual so it takes a lotta trial-and-error til ya find what works best for your hair, and from there i towel/air dry. in terms of products my preference is either tresemme or aussie if ive got a choice, but it definitely depends on whats available to you within your price bracket. i also havent used any heat tools whatsoever on my hair since i shaved my head, so that might also impact things... idk i wish i could be of more help!! hair care can be so tricky and misleading as well... i wish you the best and hope this was at least somewhat helpful!!

after going hiatus i wanted to say i rlly miss the community on here and im FINALLY at a place where i have stable beliefs in my view of spirituality that align with me!!

and basically it just fits my beliefs much more now and i feel a lot better!! i no longer believe in certain terms like subconscious, 3d or 4d, states, or rlly any terminology involving the law. i honestly don’t have any terminological beliefs anymore, i just believe we are all one god and that’s it. consciousness is the only reality, so nothing has to be done to manifest. you already have anything you want and thats it!

if you disagree with me that’s okay! you can do what u will and follow ur own beliefs, thats what we’re all meant to do!! 💖

do you know if there is a picture of the christmas outfits in color? if not, that's fine, i'll just go off my assumption (the girl's outfits are red and white, and the boy's outfits are black i guess), nbd

i don't know either tbh... i looked thru both art books and thru my gathered official art on my computer and couldn't find any colored official art pictures of the christmas ball. there have been gorgeous fan colorings, but i don't think an official one. i could've sworn there was something out there? but, same as you, i haven't been able to find anything.

ive always assumed the girls' dresses are red and white to be santa themed! it's mentioned that the boys' outfits are halloween themed (for some reason) so black's probably the best bet. (not that logic has stopped me from imagining it as bright green for WAY too long!)

anyway i think your assumed colorings are a good bet for the designs, but sadly i can't point to any canon evidence for it ;-; if anyone has official art evidence of the xmas ball colorings, please let me and tardytothepardy know!
