okay so idk if any of my followers are into kink culture at all. but my fiancee and i used to be very active in it. and before we got engaged, we "collared" one another. up until a couple years ago, we both wore our collars 24/7!! but now we're in a different place and we are more comfy without them (sensory needs).
however!! i finally splurged and got myself an "eternity collar" (stainless steel, able to be worn 24/7 vs leather and Brahma web collars). so!! we're about to do an intimate little collaring ceremony in the forest 🥺💖
autumn is my favorite time of year, and autumn (my fiancee) will be seeing the leaves change for the first time this year!!!!!! we're going to have a little picnic at the park and take in all the trees. maybe do little vows 🥺🥺
i want so badly to actually marry her, but i can't bc of financial and SSI reasons. so this will hold me over in the meantime 💖💖💖
anyway i've never done a ceremony before, so this is really really important to me 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i'm so excited for it !!! it's something so special and so bright, which is a welcome change from the dark months i've had ❤️‍🩹

just a sad little scared eddie blurb to ruin everyone's night <3 reader goes to find him at rick's after chrissys death
Tumblr media
i'm just practicing my writing skills, ive been out of practice and need to know if i still got it <3
Tumblr media
"Eddie?" you whisper yelled, scared to be at Rick's all by yourself. You'd been here with Eddie a few times, and you just didn't know where else to look. "Eddie are you in there? I'm scared."
Silence.
"I don't think you did it," you kept talking, "I don't think you had anything to do with Chrissy's, uh, ... I don't think you hurt her."
Silence.
If he wasn't here, you wouldn't know where else to look. Tears formed in your eyes at the thought. Wherever he was he was probably terrified, scared that whatever hurt Chrissy will get him too. Or worse... whatever got Chrissy already got him.
"Eddie, please, please be in there!" you raised your voice, your voice crackling and breaking beneath the pressure of your tears, now fully flowing down your face. "Please," your voice lowered again, "I can't help you if I can't find you."
And then there were footsteps. Light, trying to stay quiet, but the small creak of floorboards gave it away, and your breath hitched, trying to stay silent behind your wall of emotion.
"Eddie, it's just me," you whispered, "is that you?"
Your heart started racing, what if it wasn't him? What if it was the bad guy? You braced yourself to run, but, what if it was Eddie? You couldn't just leave him here, scared and alone. You forced yourself forward, touching the doorknob with a shaky hand. You were brave, you could handle this.
You opened the door, the loud creaking of it opening made your heart race so fast you thought it might leap right out of your chest.
"It's just me," you repeated, tip toeing and being quiet. "I really promise," you said, "everyone said to leave it but, I couldn't. I don't think you did that. I don't believe it."
For a moment you believed you were speaking to nothing but shadows, until...
"Really?" came Eddie's soft, broken voice, crackling from days of sobbing, and screaming.
You nearly gave yourself whiplash turning towards the sound, and there he was, puffy eyed and beautiful as ever, huddled in the corner of the room, knees balled up to his chest. And your eyes filled to the brim with tears, their escape unavoidable. The relief you felt when you saw him alive, and not hurt was palpable. Like, subconsciously you were really worried that something even worse had happened to him.
"Really," you promised, taking slow, careful steps towards him.
"I didn't do it, I didn't do that," he promised, eyes threatening to spill more tears down his already painfully stinging cheeks. "I couldn't..."
"I know," you promised, you promised again and again until you had made it in front of him, crouching to be at his level. "Eddie, you don't have to explain yourself to me, I already believe you."
"I'm scared," he whispered, and your heart shattered, like fragile glass, littering pieces of itself across the floor.
"Me too," you said, easing his arms off his knees so you could work your way between them, shuffling between his thighs until they hovered over your own legs, and you were close enough to pull him into a tight hug.
His messy hair fanned over your face and neck, but you didn't care. You held onto him, and he clung to you, like you were the only light in the dark. Like you were the only thing holding him up.
And he sobbed. Wept into your shoulder until big, salty tears landed on your skin, trailing down into your sweater, soaking the material with little wet spots.
"Do you still love me?" he asked, knowing the answer but needing to hear it for himself for it to remain true.
"Of course," you promised, and the violent shaking of his shoulders told you he was sobbing again. And you held onto him, letting him sob, holding him through it. And you'd keep doing that until you could clear his name. Eddie was innocent, you were sure of it, and you would fight for him always.
"I love you," he muttered, words catching and breaking through his tears.
A few more tears fell down your cheeks, and you two were a mess. But you couldn't care less, you found him. He was with you, where he should've always been. And you could help him now.
"I love you too."

Maybe Aaron unintentionally runs into Diana’s boyfriend on the street or in a store either with or without Y/n? I wanna know how that would play out…
Love your work btw💙😇
(I Love Love Love this request! Keep them coming)
Tumblr media
While you and Aaron were roaming the isles around the store in a hopeless mission to find the Rose tea you insisted on having in the house, Little Diva he thought to him self, he made a note to always keep an eye out of you, he always had you either holding his hand or grabbing distance, he knew that if you were to stray too far and the wrong type of person saw that they'd snatch you, a parents worst nightmare.
Aaron: "I don't understand what's so special about this tea that you drag me across the city just to get it"
Y/n: "I dunno, I just really like it"
Aaron: "Why do we gotta go all the way across Brooklyn to some shop Ive never heard of then?"
Y/n: "This is where Diana buys it, so I know it's here"
Aaron: "Oh" He sharply inhaled.
Y/n: "This is the isle" You pointed your finger to the finale isle.
While you and Aaron scanned the isle for the overly specific tea you so desperately wanted Aaron took his eyes off you and let go of your hand while you also searched, scanning each box and briefly reading the title only to dismiss it.
But once he found it, the rose Japanese tea in it's pink box he grabbed it calling out to you...
Aaron: "Baby I found it-" he turned around only to see you weren't there.
His eyes darted across the isle left to right, he had lost you, all his worst fears were coming true, you were gone and it was his fault as his mind raced, where did you go, did someone take you?
Aaron: "Y/n?! Y/n?!" he yelled out drawing the attention of other shoppers, he exited the isle and continued to call for you.
Aaron: "Y/N! Y/N! ANSWER ME!" He turned the corner to see to his relief you were there, talking to someone...
A man, a grown ass man he didn't know dressed down in a hoodie and sweats was crouched down talking too you sweetly.
Not my fucking daughter, he thought to himself.
He approached from behind you and grabbed your arm pulling you back towards him while leaning down to face you.
Aaron: "The hell are you doing? I told you never to speak to strangers!" He scolded beginning to drag you away.
Aaron: "What's wrong with you? Talking to a little girl huh?"
Phil: "Woah chill man, It's not like that, I'm Phil"
Oh...Phil, Diana's boyfriend.
Aaron: "Oh...okay, I still don't want you hanging around my daughter, I don't know you"
Phil: "Well I know her, me and the little lady were just catching up"
Little lady, who the fuck dose he think he is?
Aaron: "Well you can catch up her weekends"
Phil: "I guess, see you Saturday Sweetie" He waved at you from behind Aaron.
Oh Hell no
Aaron: "Getting way too familiar with my kid man, with all the nicknames"
Phil: "What? Why can't I have some 'familiarity' with her, I see her every weekend"
Aaron: "I.Don't.Know.You"
Phil: "Well she knows me, Don't you Y/n?"
...
Y/n: "Yeah..." You answered meekly.
Phil: "I like to think of myself like her weekend Daddy"
I am about to shoot this damm down in broad daylight
Phil grins at him, Aaron can't tell if he's trying to provoke him or if he is just this much bitch all the time.
Aaron: "Excuse me?"
Phil: "Someone's gotta be the man of house, you and Diana didn't work out she need's father figure"
...
Aaron: "I am her father?"
Phil: "No no, I mean like a real father figure, one who puts the kid in their place not just coddle them, or take back talk"
Aaron knows if he stays in this store any longer and talk to this man he's going to become a killer, he he deeply inhales grabs your hand tightly and drags you out the store.
Phil: "See you next week sweetie"
Aarons grip on your hands tightens and he pulls you out the store, and only lets go once you've turned the corner of the side walk, and once he lets go you rub your hand due to the redness.
Aaron: "I'm sorry about your hand baby, it's just that boy was testing me back there"
Y/n: "...Its okay"
Aaron: "Dammit, I forgot your tea"
Y/n: "is there any chance we could go back"
Aaron: "Hell no, I'd end up a killer back that guy...I'll find it online and order you some, kay?"
Y/n: "...okay" You huffed.
Aaron: "Come on now, It's just tea, how bout we get some ice cream?"
Y/n: "OH! YES please!"
Aaron: "Okay then, let's go what flavour you thinking?"
Y/n: "Pistachio!"
Aaron: "Pistachio huh? I think the flavours should have stopped at Mint chip but whatever"
Y/n: "You get vanilla, you can't judge me"
Aaron: "What's wrong with Vanilla?"
Y/n: "Only psychopath's eat vanilla ice cream, and you BITE it, like a mad man"
Aaron: "Hey Ive got strong teeth, you got your Mom's teeth so you can't bite it"
While you and Aaron sat on the bench together, he taking bites out of his while you had to lick it coming down your hands.
Aaron: "What do you call Phil?"
Y/n: "What do you mean?"
Aaron: "Like, do you call him Phil or by his last name?"
Y/n: "Usually I call him Phil sometimes he won't answer me unless I call him Daddy"
Aaron sharply inhales again, his hand tensing on the cone until it cracked.
Aaron: "Uh huh...Do you like calling him that?"
Y/n: "No, I don't really care though sometimes he buys me things if I do"
Aaron: "So that's where you keep gettin all those toys, do you know what he works as to afford you all that?"
Y/n: "I don't know, I don't think he has a job"
Aaron: "Uh huh...so he's a deadbeat?"
Y/n: "A bit yeah"
Aaron: "Is he nice to you?"
Y/n: "Most the time"
Aaron: "I think I'm gonna get you a phone, nothing fancy just a flip phone so you can call me, or Uncle Jeff if something goes wrong"
Y/n: "Really?! A phone?!"
Aaron: "Nothing fancy just a flip one"
Y/n: "Oh thank you" You hugged your father from the side gripping his torso.
Aaron: "And I'm gonna put all those social media blocks on it, no Instagram no face book none of that, no 8 year old need's all that, and I'm go through your messages, make sure your not being all sneaky"
Y/n: "Okay! Can I put sparkles on it?"
Aaron: "No, those things are expensive"
Y/n: "But you said nothing fancy? If it's cheap why can't I put gems on it?"
Aaron: "I-I...You ask too many questions Y/n"
Y/n: "You said it's good to ask questions"
Aaron: "Don't give me lip Y/n"
Y/n: "I'm not? I'm just-"
Aaron: "Shhh"
Y/n: "I-"
Aaron: "Shhht"
Y/n: "okay damm"
Aaron: "I heard that"

Truthful Mingi
An ATEEZ fanfic by AbsentCaryatid
Your friend Mingi has been known to stretch the truth, so you don't take him seriously when he brags anesthetic affects him less than others. This means your confession of love after a medical procedure is not as secret as you thought.
1.9K words, Content note: all ages, gender neutral reader, medical setting heavily inspired by Mingi's endoscopy in WANTEEZ episode 10.
~
“I will go first so you know it is survivable. You'll see how easy it is, Mingi.” With those last words to your friend, you took your hand from his shoulder then walked into the treatment room with an IV bag in tow. In no time at all you were out of the endoscopy and in recovery fast asleep.
Checking on you before his own turn, Mingi leaned close and whispered, “I have always wanted to be brave like you. Nobody else would have gone in for an endoscopy on a whim just so I would not be alone.” He took the hand flopped beside your head and began to stroke it nervously with his thumb. “I always feel better about scary things in your presence. Just in case something goes wrong, I need to tell you how I feel about you. I wanted to say it in the waiting room before when you could actually hear me, but I could not work up to it. Here and now though, I want to tell you I love you.” Mingi's confession ended with a soft kiss to your forehead.
You woke from the best dream of your life, a much-desired declaration of love from your best friend. As the nurse removed the blanket, she told you the next stop was a private room to further sleep off the effects while undisturbed by other patients under her observation. As you were about to stand up, a gurney was rolled into the recovery room with a zonked out looking Mingi splayed atop it. To see him this way, there was only one thing on your mind. “Can I talk to him?” With permission granted, you made your way from your bed to his on shaky legs.
You smiled to yourself. His brag that he shrugged off general anesthesia was apparently just one of many tall tales Mingi would embellish for your entertainment. At least it had been a little more likely than the boast he did not have veins, but still, apparently he was not one of those people with the ability to wake up right out of a procedure.
“Although just a dream, to feel desired by you was the greatest feeling in the world. It made me want to tell you the same, Mingi.” Hesitantly, you reached for his hair, and began to run your fingers through it gently as the nurse kindly focused on her phone rather than the latest post-procedure patient.
“I think I fell for you before we'd even met. Actually, I am sure of it. At the PC cafe I'd overhear you and Yunho encouraging each other as you played. It wasn't just your attractive voice, but how supportive you were. And then when Yunho would make you laugh, I just wanted to hear that sound forever. When I finally put a face to the name the day you asked about what game I was playing, I was a goner.”
Mingi's eyes snapped open and he abruptly sat up. “Are you trying to say you like me back?”
You almost stumbled back in surprise, but were lucky Mingi shot out a steadying arm. His reflexes were excellent for someone who had just been knocked out. In a strained voice you questioned, “You were awake? You weren't supposed to know.”
“I told you anesthetic wears off fast on me.” Still holding your arm, he pulled you in for a kiss.
Continuing to feel relaxed from being recently under, you gave into it without hesitation, while also recognizing Mingi must be feeling a little influenced himself to be so bold. Just as you were pulling away, the nurse intervened suggesting the two of you save it for later if you still felt interested when fully sober.
“Bye, Mingi,” you chirped adoringly while being shooed to the next room to sleep off the lingering effects. “I love my boyfriend so much,” you solemnly informed the nurse as she covered you with a blanket.
Unusually true to his word, Mingi did throw off the anesthetic like a champ and had followed you while the nurse protested he needed to lay down. As you fell back asleep you heard Mingi say, “I love you, and you love me too. I knew it!”
When you woke up from the procedure, you felt well rested. The nurse who heard you moving brought in your street clothes. As you changed, it felt like there was something important you were supposed to remember. After a momentary struggle to recall, you asked, “Is Mingi done with his endoscopy? Did he come out okay?”
She nodded understandingly, given how commonly memories were not retained while still under lingering effects of anesthetic. “You have already seen your boyfriend and he is well.”
“Oh, we're not dating, just friends.” Her smile at the denial made you wonder if you had mumbled something about your crush to her while under the influence, but you decided not to ask.
Now dressed, you spotted Mingi in the next room due to the partition left open. Asleep you could admire him in a way you never could while he was awake. Your unspoken romantic love for Mingi was something you expected to take to the grave since he had never given any indication he considered you a potential romantic partner. It was enough to be his dear friend, and you almost would have convinced yourself if not for the longing sigh you let out.
Groggily, Mingi opened his eyes at the sound. “You are up. Are we okay to leave?”
“We are cleared to leave once you are dressed. I already texted Yunho to pick us up.” Taking note of the odd way Mingi was looking at you, you thought to ask, “Is there drool on my face or something like that?”
“No, no, I was just trying to remember something. Probably was only a dream.” Mingi looked down at his hands, subdued. “I'll get my clothes on and meet you at the reception desk.”
By the time you left Mingi, Yunho was already in the waiting room laughing with the nurse. He was such a friendly guy that it did not seem odd at the time. Yunho was always making people smile or laugh, often complete strangers. After a short wait, Mingi appeared and you two were discharged with Yunho as the responsible party.
The elevator ride down from the doctor's practice felt tense. Although you could remember nothing, you had a nagging worry you had behaved inappropriately under the anesthetic. What could have made the nurse think Mingi was your boyfriend?
Deciding to be cautious with your still recovering bodies, Yunho jogged off to get the car while you waited with Mingi. The silence was finally broken once Yunho brought his car around to the building's entrance and met you with a huge grin. “So, you two are finally dating now? About time I'd say.”
The panic in your eyes was matched by Mingi as you stared at each other, completely lost by the conversation. Together you had the the same thought, “What?”
“You two lovebirds sit on the back seat together and I'll explain while I take each of you to your homes.”
Mingi gently helped you into Yunho's sedan then walked carefully around to the other side. He was still a little tipsy, so you helped him buckle the seat belt. Mingi visibly flushed as your hands met. Looking up, you caught Yunho's broad smile in the rear-view mirror before he began to speak.
“Mingi sent me a video message not too long ago. I believe it was intended for you though.” Handing his phone to the back seat before driving off, Yunho tried to hold in his laughter as he heard the video play in your trembling hands.
A sleepy looking Mingi was dressed in the gown from the procedure and recording in the room where he was supposed to be dozing off the last effects. “I can't wait for you to wake up, so I thought I'd tell you now how happy I am that you love me too. I'm going to be the best boyfriend ever and have a lot of plans for things we should do as a couple. First a cat cafe date and afterward a hot springs trip together.” Mingi then yawned, stretching his arms wide taking the phone along for the ride. The new angle brought a nurse into view in the background.
“Sir, you can't have the phone in here, it is supposed to stay in the locker until you have recovered. Who knows what you'll get up to.” The video ended abruptly at that point.
“Alas, I quickly realized he was not talking to me,” Yunho giggled from the driver's seat.
Mingi looked mortified as he turned your way. “I didn't know what I was saying. I am so sorry.”
You did not know what to say yourself. If Mingi liked you, it would be a dream come true, but he sounded apologetic now, leaving you to choke down a confession. Rescuing you in the moment, Yunho again piped up from the front seat.
“The nurse had an interesting story to tell. She said you each confessed love for the other. Mingi both before and after his procedure, and you when Mingi came out of his. I take it neither of you remember such important discussions? She even said there was kissing involved before she intervened.”
A hand flew to your lips as if attempting to feel the history there. This was definitely news to you. No wonder the nurse had called Mingi your boyfriend, and his forgotten recording made sense in that context. He really did love you too, but had been just as chicken about saying something.
Mingi reached for your hand. “I do remember confessing before I went under. You slept through it because I could not tell you when awake. The rest I can not recall, but it is true. I don't even remember having my phone out, so I had better check my email for purchases I don't know about.”
“Before you do, can we have another first kiss, Mingi? I want one to remember.”
“Not in my car,” Yunho pled, but he kept his eyes on the road and studiously ignored any sounds he might have heard. There may have been some halfhearted grumbling about how he should have waited to tell the nurse's story until after he had dropped you off, but you were too busy with your new boyfriend to listen.
“So, we really are dating now?” Mingi's incredulous voice went straight to your heart.
“I want you, and you want me, so that works out well.”
“Okay, good. I should ask if you are free next weekend. While I was loopy I apparently booked us a hot springs weekend. If you don't want to, I could always go with Yunho instead.”
Taking Mingi's hand and pressing it gently to your lips, you proudly announced, “Yunho can go with you another time. I'm going with my boyfriend Mingi.”
In the rear-view mirror Yunho could be seen smiling to himself, proud to have helped your romance along. That is, you would have noticed if you had been able to look anywhere but Mingi and his blissful grin that matched your own.

Maxine Baker x fem!reader
I AM OVER IT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO DAMN LONG FOR SOMEONE TO WRITE ONE IM DOING IT MY FUCKING SELF BUCKLE UP BITCHES
You had a thing for Maxine Baker ever since you laid an eye on her in Ap English. She couldn’t have been paying less attention to what was going on around her.
“Uhhh Jordan I don’t what to do!” You groaned why’ll jokingly banging your head against your locker. He rubbed your shoulder and sighed. “You poor useless homosexual. Ask her out! Hang out with her friends. God bake her some god damn cookies, just something to speak to her!” You turned to him and really thought about kicking him in the nuts over and over again and till they started bleeding.
“how the fuck it that gonna work? You just want me to walk to someone I’ve never talked to before and just say “hey girlllll I don’t know me but I love your beautiful hair and your sexy Halloween costume let’s make out?”” You gasped when he nodded his head. “Jordan my love life is on the line think of something!” I say stomping on the ground and looking down when I hear paper crumbling.
“SPRING MUSICAL: Auditions Monday to Thursday 9 to 3:40”
I gasped and shoved the paper in Jordan’s face and smiled. “I just got the perfect idea!” Jordan smiled and shook you “I told you you had what it took to be in drama club!” I cocked your head to the side confused. “I’m going back stage crew.” Jordan shrugged and smiled “better than nothing”
My plan was working pretty well. After all silver left me in charge over getting measurements from all the actors which meant your got to be in sniffing distance of Maxine Baker. The only problem with that is that I was gay panicking and suffering through the whole thing. Luckily Max didn’t seem to notice. I was sitting on the bench sipping on lemonade and eating a brownie when I heard they director shouted. “Where’s the understudy!”
“Charlie’s out sick and Alice is stuck in traffic for at least another hour.” Kyle said.
oh shit! Jordan raised his hand and smiled. “Y/n knows the lines” it’s true you went over all of them with Jordan and just happen to read other characters parts when I were bored. “Is this true?” I nodded your throat to dry to speak. The director nodded and pointed to the stage. I ran up and stood stiffly in front of max. This wasn’t even the main reason you felt like this but this scene has a kiss. What was I supposed to due. Max smiled at your and begun reading over her lines flawlessly. Her voice could melt dry fucking ice. As the stage play said you walked closer to each other and Max put her hand gently on your cheek and stare in your eyes. “Thanks by the way” you blinked at her and she smiled. “For loving my “sexy Halloween costume” and saying my hair is pretty.” You gasped at her and she smiled before leaning into to kiss you.” Your world melted away and you felt your knee threaten to buckle. She pulled away and wiped your lip gloss off the side of her mouth. “You should hang with me and MANG y/n” you gasped again she knows your name! After that you kinda were part of the group the (first letter of your name) in MANG now . And they group always made fun of your crush on Max.
one day max asked you to hand her her powder from her stage makeup bag and when you popped it open and turn written on a cafeteria napkin read. “Will you be a girlfriend?” Your turned around and max was right there nose to nose. “Well?” She asked nervously. You slowly nodded and when you did max wrapped her arms around you and kissed you harshly as said she’d been waiting for years to do this. She pulled away and smiled before Holding up a lip liner pencil. “Now help me line my lips”
THERE CUZ NO ON ELSE WAS GONNA DO IT!!!!

i got back from a week long trip so now i've had plenty of time to ruminate on things and im finally ready to see what the fuck this guy has been trying to cook
episode 7 post
ep1 ep2 ep3 ep4 ep5+6
i think i saw a drawing of this guy earlier today except he had boobs
so lion's pretty obviously supposed to be the baby from 19 years ago, right.
Tumblr media
ay ay aY AY AY
oh bah, the way it started out as just the last word in caps for a couple lines made me think dlanor was disguised as shannon or something but nah shes just like a robot or possessed for something.
i feel like ive been told explicitly 15 times that beato was the original beatrice's daughter who kinzo believed was her reincarnated, as if this is the first time im being given this information
Tumblr media
damn bro you look hideous
alright so we're positing that original beatrice was enough of a fascist that she stuck to mussolini even after the rest of the country gave up? ok.
alright alright alright we're talking about whether the axis were cowards based on whether or not they surrendered and how alright.
REALLY FUNNY FOR THE V/O TO STILL BE FULLY JAPANESE WHEN HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE SPEAKING ENGLISH. OH BUT "I CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH" IS?
interesting that this beatrice is using the baby beato voice. I've been trying to get the logic of it, and the best I can figure is that its just... to differentiate? differentiate WHAT exactly, whether its between human beatrices or just the humans and the witch im not sure yet. but I miss her other voice :( the flashback we got of her earlier that I didn't mention also used this voice even though im fairly certain the original version didn't.
i get that its for plot contrivances because beatrice had to get here somehow but WHY on EARTH would someone bring their daughter on an armed military vessel in the middle of a massive war. also because i touched on it earlier i'd like to clarify, i get that the participants in war are not necessarily people who agree with any of it. and even then, your circumstances of birth and pressure from your family will put you in situations out of your control (given, thats what this whole thing has Been About). idk i dont want it to come across as i don't get what's going on or like im an idiot or something. i may also be a bit defensive because i haven't really enjoyed the reading process terribly much in a while and didn't appreciate some of the feedback i've gotten in regards to "just keep reading, you'll like it, youll understand" because i dont think its properly come across that i think i Do understand, im just squicked the fuck out by a lot of things in part 6 and so far haven't seen anything that would allegedly turn my opinion around that much. but there's still a lot left in this to go. im just. bored honestly.
REALLY funny how much "bice" comes off sounding like bitch. all my friends at home call me bitch
oh my god also hilarious. the golds in the submarine isnt it.
Tumblr media
EVEN IF ITS A TOP SECRET BASE WHY THE FUCK DONT YOU HAVE A DOCTOR?
anybody else have to stop and hold their head for a minute every time wildly specific gun specs are listed for no reason whatsoever
anyways this fight over the gold is fun, i figured something was gonna have to happen that got everyone else off that island and left the gold, so this makes as much sense as anything. and feeling the drive to live despite it all after seeing genuine bloodshed for the first time is a little overdone but just fine.
Tumblr media
*curb your enthusiasm theme starts playing* well at least he insisted on taking her to a doctor
ohhhhh we're confirming beato is really and for true kinzo's biological daughter *head in handssss*
PLEASE STOP PINCHING THIS MAN'S ASS!!!
oh my god, first acknowledgement that battler isn't here. i kinda figured since he's always been kinzo's mirror of sorts, he wasn't gonna be here because kinzo was alive. like there's no reason for that to be the case, but to me the logic felt sound. battler and kinzo haven't been in the same place at the same time, at least not in 1986. and it seems that will continue to be the case !!
STOP PINCHING EVERYONES ASSES
lion sucks, actually. wretched personality.
i was holding back on making a joke about how maria talks about beato the way christian billboards exclusively go on about how there's "evidence god exists" or whatever, but now she's reciting the bible word for word so i dont know what to do with my point but i have to share it now. i do like that her point seems to be that because maria doesn't have a father, she is jesus. good for you girl.
BEATOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. and with the voice! ok so definitely that's the witch's voice.
alright this whole scenario can be argued as maria having an imaginary friend about it but if that piece of candy that beato told her to keep as a souvenir and not eat is still in maria's bag, magic is fucking Real.
also beato telling maria to practice basic hygene as her witch traini-- *has a jimmy neutron style brain blast and remembers the 1 (one) shinto shrine i've visited* OH, NO THIS IS A SHINTO THING. OK HELL YEAH. more of beato the "western" witch using japanese magics. i see i see i see.

Ashes In The Fall - Chapter 27: What We Left Behind IV
Book 2 of the Calendula Chronicles
Resident evil, Wesker X OC
Story Summary: Marigold Ashford escaped the mansion, only to face new incarceration with a familiar jailor. She may yet have to make a deal with the devil, if she can unearth what this Faustian bargain would cost her.
There is always something left to lose.
Chapter summary: Ada Wong gives Marigold a surprising piece of intel. Marigold discovers an unexpected ally, just as time becomes a critical factor.
Tumblr media
Ada found Marigold sitting under a tree by a brook near the edge of the property, on a frosty patch of dry moss. She stopped about twenty feet away and looked at her. “The executives up there were too afraid to come roust you out themselves. I’m told you’re supposed to meet them this afternoon?”
Marigold sat out in the late November sun for a moment longer, eyes closed, then turned her head to look at Ada. “Do you normally live on-site?”
“I do when I’m the only pair of eyes available that survived the NEST. The debrief is taking forever.” She watched Marigold fiddle with the maglocked tracker on her wrist. Ada gave the thing a little grimace. “That sort of thing is exactly why I carry an active jammer with me onsite. I hate being recorded. It’ll block yours from transmitting a signal, so we ought to get moving before they realize and send half the security team.”
Marigold blinked. “That implies other people survived whatever the hell Birkin turned himself into.” She stood, and they both started walking back down the trail together.
Ada gave her a speculative look. Finally, she said, “Annette Birkin held out for a while. I’m assuming that’s who you called.” She paused. “Officially, I heard none of that. They know that you temporarily ‘restrained’ him, of course. Somehow. And that I was able to learn it was bad enough to tail some wannabe heroes inside.”
“I was just offering some time to clear a dead zone,” Marigold admitted, quietly. “There were a lot of bodies down there, and they were all infected. G-virus screams.”
Ada stared at her. Marigold caught the look and shrugged with a roll of her eyes. “I know how it sounds, but what part of that situation wasn’t completely insane? Besides, you saw what I could do for yourself.”
It was true. And if Annette hadn’t managed to burn so many of the infected down in the NEST, things would have been even worse. She very well might have missed her deadline, and the last flight out of the city.
“Explain to me again why you owe me a favour? Or her, for that matter.” The building was coming into view in the distance.
“What is it they say about gift horses? Perhaps I simply wanted to punch William Birkin in the face. I expect there would be quite a queue for that.”
“Maybe I just want to be sure the check clears when it’s time to cash it in.” And just how much it’s worth.
Marigold looked at the tracker again, doubtful. Ada smirked. “I seriously doubt there’s a recording device in there. It looks too light, and it seems like the only person who actually comes anywhere near you wouldn’t want to be overheard.”
Marigold wrinkled her nose. “You had to put it that way. I’m fairly certain the entire facility knows that’s not true by now.”
“I did. I really, really did. Don’t dodge the question.”
They walked in comfortable silence for a few minutes longer. “They woke me up for a few minutes for questioning after they…after I was found out. Back then. They wanted to know how the hell I tripped over a stable infection in the first place.” Marigold wrapped her arms tightly around her middle at the memory. “They’d already seen how dangerous it was to let me be lucid for any longer - I’d made a fairly strong point of it. Annette translated my responses when Spencer called in. I think he was fishing for a reason to revoke my brother’s holdings. Annette didn’t do anything especially heroic, but she didn’t let the story he wanted to extract stand either, especially after I implicated Marcus for being an incompetent twat.”
Marigold took a breath, and let it out slowly, releasing the venom in her voice. “You mentioned they got married. I figured she’d tell me what the hell I’d gotten into in exchange for a little breathing space.”
Marigold paused, then glanced at Ada. “She didn’t make it out then. Did anyone else get out?”
“Didn’t he tell you?”
“I…” Marigold paused. “I couldn’t bring myself to ask.”
“Hm.” Ada considered. The other woman was likely running an angle in staying here. That was fine by her. “Annette had a daughter, Sherry. The cop I tailed in and another girl - related to one of the STARS survivors, I think - got out with her through the train tunnels. And Annette’s boyfriend of course.”
Marigold blinked, then smirked. “Good for her,” she said softly.
Ada smirked back. “You actually passed Harman when you first got into my car. The small-world syndrome in that town was incredible. That whole situation alone was a multi-year soap opera.”
Marigold looked off towards the building. The security team was milling about the entrance. Someone had twigged to the jammer. No one was running out yet, but someone was pissed. “In front of the bar,” she said voice oddly soft. “Tall fellow, wore black?”
Ada glanced at her. Ben’s intel had told her that he’d been affiliated with the Ashford family. But from that long ago? “You do have a good memory.”
“That’s true,” Marigold allowed. “It’s not always enough, though.”
Then, as if a switch had been flipped, Marigold grimaced and changed the subject. “I need to get my own things. I didn’t even get shoes before that mission. I’m not used to going into meetings like this without an extra three, four inches of height.”
“They would probably assign you a personal shopper if you asked, unless you want him to keep dressing you. Hell, I’d help if it got me out of briefings for a day.”
Marigold smirked at Ada. “Are you offering to dress me, Miss Wong?”
Ada laughed. “Daniel warned me that you were an ‘incorrigible flirt’. I see old age hasn’t done away with that.” They were almost to the benches laid out facing each other in the small courtyard near the door. Security had ebbed away when they had become visible. Two guards remained, with an older man - a salt-and-pepper type, clean-cut, around fifty. He wore a well-tailored navy suit.
Marigold stopped in her tracks when she saw them. Starred. Ada glanced over at her, but her face was unreadable. Finally, she relaxed and looked back at Ada. “Looks like they’re eager to get this over with. See you around - maybe you can fill me in on the soap opera later.” She smiled a little. “There doesn’t seem to be much else to do around here.”
----------
Ada took off, shooting a curious look over her shoulder as she left Marigold alone with the executive and the two nervous guards. There was no room to consider the bombshell Ada had just dropped on her. Two of the three children that had grown up in Ashford care by the Southern Ocean had survived. No, she corrected herself. All three of them. If her suspicion was correct, only a handful of people alive would know that specific detail.
If Grayson Harman had made it out of the wreck of Raccoon City, he’d likely go home. A lot of time had passed. The last she had seen them all, Scott Harmon’s son had been thirteen, and the twins just barely eleven.
She’d been so sure, back then, that moving down to help Alexander manage the children would help pull them all back from the brink of untold disaster. And then, Arklay had happened.
And HCF would be coming for them.
The executive had a quiet word with the security staff, who stepped back inside the glass doors with only minimal hesitation. He walked toward her, waving toward one of the benches and indicating that she should sit opposite him. A safety measure, packaged as something to make her feel more comfortable. The guards would be worse than useless if things went awry. Marigold felt the cooly polite mask slip back across her face, but on the inside she was cold.
She took the bench. The executive took the one opposite her, about ten feet away.
The man looked a little rueful, but seemed pleased, overall. “Miss Ashford. I hope we’ve been able to make your stay comfortable.” His crisp London accent was still strong, after all these years.
Marigold narrowed her eyes, and tilted her head as she studied the man. “It’s been adequate, as far as accommodations go. I can’t say the same for the manner I came to be here, but it’s hardly a fair world.” She pursed her lips. “I’m at a disadvantage here as to what I should be calling you.”
The man’s face softened slightly. “Ah. I’m going by Alan these days. Alan Greenwich. When you…passed…Lord Spencer tried to purge your department. He seemed to change his mind rather quickly on the matter - no one was sure why - but we were all taken aback. It seemed the smart thing to do, especially once your family began to have their difficulties. Imagine my shock when someone from your old household reached out, around the time when the city was beginning to fall.” He stared back at her with frank interest. His words were sincere. “There were rather a lot of rumours about you back in the day. Not a one in your family ever did things halfway, do they?”
Marigold nodded, but on the inside, she felt a surge of elation. Poppy had gotten the message. Her gamble with Birkin had worked. Moreover, the effects on ‘Alan’ had held over so that he had left a trail Poppy could follow - an old number, still connected, still capable of reaching him. “I supposed that’s true.” ‘Alan’ - previously Alastair Grenwald, one of the first people she had gone after on purpose back in those early days. His cousin had attempted to drug her drink at a party in a fit of pique at how she was mysteriously pulling huge deals and glory out of the woodwork. The cousin had been the only person she’d ever actually bit, until last month. Maxwell’s situation had deteriorated, by all accounts, although he had remained wretchedly alive. Alastair here, on the other hand, seemed the picture of good health and prestige; a living, vibrant Rosencrantz to Maxwell’s Guildenstern.
They’d all been so young then. She’d had years to target the company’s people at every level, tagging key people of influence ready to rise up the ranks. Spencer’s heart must have stopped when he learned she had gotten out alive. If he had learned that yet.
Given how Maxwell and Marcus had reacted- the few she had actually infected to punish - it was little wonder that Arklay’s assumptions about her reach were limited. Spencer must have realized he would do far more damage purging every known contact she’d ever made than simply opting for containing her.
Alastair here - Alan, she would have to start thinking of him as Alan - lacked the sense of fear of her that his colleagues did. He knew, somehow, that he’d be safe here. He didn’t quite understand why though. The reports Wesker had filed had provided them with must have been designed to keep the staff clear.
From what Wesker had told her in his little threat about the Tyrants, they - Umbrella - had been learning to control them. The minds of the hulking creatures themselves had been destroyed and later replaced with parasitic intelligence. They’d been afraid to do that with a working mind, especially with so little margin for error. But they would have tried it one day.
Wesker had chosen coercion and dominance as the levers to control her. They’d worked…for a time. In isolation.
She would have to let that illusion stand just a bit longer. But not too long. She fought to urge to fidget, to make sure the item in her coat pocket was still there.
Marigold looked up at the clear, cloudless sky. “I think it might rain later,” she offered. Under the words, she sent a sharp question at the man before her. He’s going after the paramilitary compound, isn’t he. Aren’t you. While Umbrella is still reeling.
Alan blinked at her words, then glanced around at the perfect fall weather. “Yes? I suppose it might?” He seemed faintly bewildered at the question, unaware that he was answering the one beneath it. She wouldn’t have as easy a time pushing Alan as she did to Irons, but Irons had been topped up with an active infection that had woken the sleeping one that had propagated and slept deep in his lungs. Alan’s had been kept lightly active over her decade of working with him before she’d been captured. A light touch worked best. Even better, he was well used to her eccentric little asides.
She gave a little sigh. “They probably know I’m alive by now. How can I help, Mr. Greenwich?” The wolves are circling and Umbrella’s inner circle was terrified of what I would do to them if I ever got out. Do you really think they’ll sit idle while he strikes their installations? She smiled at ‘Alan’ as the thought sank in. At least one government agency knows specifically where I ended up. Such a large company, so many people. How long do you really believe they can keep a secret? Can you afford to let an asset sit idle?
If Poppy had reached out to this one, the others would have been mobilized as well. Umbrella would have a hell of a time locating George Bailey, but so would Wesker, and HCF; especially now that Bailey was amongst… friends.
Alan was looking at her with a touch of wariness now, mixed with the previous interest. Marigold had almost forgotten how lovely it was to watch a suggestion turn into what must have felt like an organic idea. “I…I think we may have been neglecting your potential while things have been settling down. The…Ms. Wong’s report…suggested that you be used more in the field. There may be an opportunity to pursue that in the next few weeks.” He seemed troubled at the thought. “But in the meantime, perhaps we can make your situation a bit more comfortable?”
----------
They talked for an hour. ‘Alan’ had appeared clearheaded throughout, but the seeds were most certainly planted. She’d managed to keep her hands clean through this exchange. Anyone watching would have observed a clear distance kept between the two. Alan had pushed for more from her, until a picture began to emerge. The Board at HCF wanted Wesker’s intel, the benefit of his experience and training. They were realizing what a prime asset she could turn out to be.
But they were also terrified of the both of them. Wesker’s report of her had been targeted to keep her at HCF, comfortable but under his strict, isolated control. Really, if it weren't for Alan - as well as Ada’s feline irreverence - it might have worked. Without information, she’d been kept on the back foot this entire time. Without contacts, without leverage, there had been no real alternative even if she did attempt to break out. Every time Wesker had left her to her own devices, it had felt like a test - one with yet another trap, yet another snare of explicit and implied threats, ready to drag her back into a secure cell.
Wesker was planning to hit Umbrella’s prime paramilitary installation. Perhaps more. She had given them next to nothing on that front. He was likely planning to use her anyhow, to drive out prey, to get returns on his investment. Alfred had been warned that something was coming. Knowing wouldn’t be enough.
It would happen soon. Perhaps before the year was out. They’d need the best weather the Southern Ocean would give them to drop into that rocky little outpost.
She needed to be placed on that mission. If Alfred could make it through the opening volleys of whatever was coming…she needed to be placed on that mission.
Alan wrapped up the meeting, hesitating only briefly before standing to offer her a hand up. “We can iron out the rest of the details later. Part of this meeting was to show the rest of the Board that it could be done.”
She hesitated, then lightly took the offered hand to stand, stepping quickly back in a way that brought a rueful look of recognition to Alan’s face. “I can’t imagine what they’ve heard. Can you believe I’ve actually missed the boardroom days?”
He laughed, and they parted ways - Alan returning to the building, and Marigold back to walk the grounds. She needed air. She needed the space to think.
She wandered for a while longer. Part of her wished she had brought a book, but she’d never get herself to concentrate on it now. Instead, she let the information of the last few days wash over her.
Marigold didn’t have the capacity to counter something of this scale. She’d always alternated between diplomat and muscle, depending on what the family - or the company - needed of her. She was a scout, a spymaster - but not a general. Her mind wasn’t built for this.
Her own mind wasn’t built for this, she realized, thinking back to that feeling she’d had when reaching out toward what might have become home, thousands of miles to the south. That feeling of one sleeping, deep below the ice. But if she could put those little volumes into the hands of someone who did have the right sort of mind, the right capacity…that would be a very different story.
Eventually, she found herself back at the little tree by the brook. The area held a feeling of seclusion, a quiet little grove where she could pretend she was back at home, in the woods behind the house in England. Out by the moor.
Except here, there was no scent of roses. Not the right kind, anyways. There was only the lingering scent of T-virus clinging to her skin, the bite marks on her shoulders, on her neck, and the threat of her family’s annihilation beyond it.
In here, there were only the shadows of the late November afternoon in a little wood, the bed of drying moss, and the little hole she had dug out underneath it. The stones she had gathered from the brook itself earlier that day, tucked behind the tree, were meant to keep the little cache from being disturbed by the local wildlife.
Marigold was good at burying what she knew. It was practically second nature. But, she thought, as she drew the faintly positive pregnancy test from her coat pocket, not everything would stay buried for long. The small supply of morning-after pills she had taken from the pharmacy had bought her a few scant weeks, but they had run out in early November. If she waited too long, she would be removed from play entirely, leaving her family at the tender mercies of their enemies.
“It won’t go the way you think it will,” she said in a soft voice. Albert Wesker planned to use her to strike at the heart of Umbrella’s operations. But he’d forgotten - she’d warned him to leave her family out of it.
Ready or not, the time for staying her hand was swiftly coming to an end.

the idea had fully occupied his thoughts the second after the words left your mouth.
it was "the buttcrack of dawn" as you had called it, though spirits were high on the late jet ride home. it was a rare but much needed positive end to the case, and everyone was happily chatting with each other. since the case was involving high schoolers, the subject fell on prom. everyone went around sharing their prom stories one by one, recalling awful dresses and questionable dates til the questions turned to spencer.
"what ab you, pretty boy, what was your prom like?" morgan asked, still smiling widely from recalling his own.
you watched spencer shift uncomfortably for a second.
"i uh..i never went to prom." he stammered, a tight lipped smile on his face.
"no! you just dont wanna tell us!" prentiss cried, throwing her hands in the air.
"i graduated high school when i was 12! why would i have gone to prom?" he reasoned.
"you had to have gone when you were older or something! everyone has!" jj countered.
"thats not true, i never went to prom either," you defended, subconsciously inching closer to spencer.
before anyone could even ask you to explain why, spencer got the idea. he mentally left the conversation after you gave your answer. he spent the whole rest of the ride home and the next couple of weeks brain storming and planning.
and casually after work one day, as he was walking you to your car, he asked you if you wanted to hang out with him that weekend; at his house.
you and Spencer had hung out before, but mostly at your house or at coffee shops; he didn't invite people over very often.
of course you agreed but you grew confused when he told you to dress fancy.
you raced home afterwards to raid your closet, looking for any fancy dresses you may have stuffed in there.
spencer spent the whole day preparing his apartment. he put up streamers and balloons. he made a playlist of all your favorite songs. and then he rushed to get his clothes from the cleaners.
and when you knocked at his door the breath that left your lungs struggled to come back after he opened the door.
he stood in a gorgeous suit, different than he had ever worn to work. he rubbed the back of his neck and gestured to the living room, revealing the adorable (albeit poorly made but its the thought that counts) decorations.
"um.. welcome to prom," he said, turning back to you, revealing a blushy smile.
he tried not to stare too much at you, but it was difficult. your eyes sparkled as you stepped inside and looked around. and the dress you were wearing fit you so gorgeously he truly couldnt take his eyes off of you.
"spencer, i..." you trailed off, enchanted by what he had done.
"sorry if it looks bad. or if you think its weird that i did this. i just thought cause neither of us went to prom maybe you wanted to have a little one with me? yeah now that i say it out loud maybe you hate it im sorr-" he rambled behind you.
you turned quickly to him as he got lost in his words, eyes glued to the floor. cutting him off by wrapping your arms around his neck and hugging him as tight as you could. you could feel the tension leave his body as he melted into the embrace, returning it gladly. he doesn't like to be touched by anyone really, except for you.
"i love it. thank you," you whispered, giving him one last squeeze before letting go.
he has a spread of snacks lying out on the coffee table which he has mooved to the corner of the room to make space for a makeshift dancefloor.
he turns on the music and you two start talking and dancing and laughing. two fools with four left feet completely and obliviously in love. well, oblivious the the other anyway.
a slower song came on, an old one that you had wanted to slow dance to ever since you were a little girl. and somehow naturally you two came together, his hand dropped to your waist, the other delicately cradling your own. your other hand found its way up to his shoulder, feeling as though a magnet was pulling you two closer. and closer.
he looked absolutely stunning. the soft lights he had strung around the apartment sparkled like stars in his eyes; its was...dizzying, in the most incredible way.
unbeknownst to you, as you stared at the stars in his eyes he was looking at his whole world that he had been somehow lucky enough to hold in his arms.
he held his arm out, allowing you to spin and when he pulled you back both of your arms ended up wrapped around his neck, and his around your waist. you were less dancing now and more...hugging. with your head pressed to his chest, he hoped with all his might that you wouldn't be able to hear his hammering heart. you most definitely could, but it was calming to know he was as nervous as you were. you smiled, listening more to his heart than the music he had played for you.
you were both sure that you could burst from pure bliss. the song ended a little too quickly for either of your liking and reluctantly you let go of each other. and suddenly Spencer was hit with the realization that he forgot something.
"oh my gosh," his eyes widened as he looked around the room.
"what?" you asked, mirroring him and looking as well.
"i can't remember where i left your corsage! i was gonna give it to you at the door but i forgot!" he exclaimed, running around the room checking shelves.
you smiled to yourself. he got you a corsage!
"ill help you look" you decided.
"please do," he chuckled.
"i thought you had an eidetic memory, shouldn't you know where you left it?" you joked, shooting him a smug smile.
"y/n, my brain was all jumbled to day and it wasn't just from being around you," he realized what he had said and quickly turned back to the shelf he was looking at, "could you check in my room please?"
his heart was racing at his own stupidity; how could he just say that so nonchalantly? he had been planning to tell you that he liked you for the longest time he cant afford slipping up and having it be anything less than perfect.
you slipped into his room, your cheeks warm from the idea that you make his big brain all jumbled. he probably didn't mean it like that, you were just looking too much into it.
you sighed as you crouched to look under his bed for it. you found a small wooden box that you slid out from underneath. it had your name on it.
is it normal to keep a corsage in a wooden box? you wouldn't know, you never went to prom.
you shrugged your shoulders, "i found it spence!"
with out thinking you opened the box, except instead of a band of flowers you were greeted with letters, all addressed to you. there were annotations written in the margins with purple ink. you furrowed your eyebrows as you scanned the various letters.
dear y/n,
today you complimented my glasses and my heart skipped a beat. thats dumb spencer dont start like that
dear y/n,
im in love with you. too forward
dear y/n,
you make life worth living. shes gonna think youre a creep
you felt a rush of euphoria fill your chest. did he really feel these things for you? your thoughts swirled in the most wonderful way. a wide smile broke across your face, butterflies running rampage through your stomach as you reread his words. his words addressed to you.
"oh thank God i really thought i lost-oh. oh no." spencer started as he walked through the door of his room immediately walking back out. you followed, blinking your watery eyes at him. "i can explain.
"i think youve explained enough, theres like 20 letters in here!" you chuckled, flipping through them.
"i didnt know how to tell you and i dont want to ruin what we already have and i-"
"it wasnt too forward." you stated, grabbing one of the letters.
"what?" he asked, dumbfounded.
"in this one," you held up the letter, "you wrote dear y/n, im in love with you. and then you crossed it out and wrote that it was too forward but i dont think it was."
"youre not mad?"
"mad? spencer ive been trying to admit the fact that im in love with you since i realized it myself, why would i be mad?"
"youre..you feel the same way?" he looked back up at you, a hesitant smile pulling on the corners of his lips.
"more so," you beamed, stepping closer.
he wrapped his arms around you, "thats good or else the rest of this prom would have sucked."
you chuckled, pulling him impossibly closer to you as another perfect song played.

Previous Part || Series Masterlist
He spends the weekend doing nothing. It’s supposed to be relaxing. He finds it nauseatingly boring.
“No mini mission this week?” Steve asks him from across the couch.
They’re supposed to be catching up on Star Wars but two prequels in and Bucky could feel himself lose his sanity. Anyone could present him with a random assortment of alphabets, call it a Star Wars species and he would have no reason not to believe them.
It’s not like he doesn’t like space. It’s just that he’s had enough of it and everything and everyone who came from it for the foreseeable future.
“No. Someone else is taking care of it.”
“Didn’t you volunteer for this?”
“I pulled myself out of the case.”
“I thought you were having fun.”
Bucky’s head slowly turns to look at him. “Why would you think that?”
“I don’t know,” Steve shrugged. “Looked like you were.”
Well, he wasn’t. He likes it here at home, glued to the TV. Popcorn beside him, sweatpants on. Refreshing, calming, slow, mundane, and Jesus Christ, so fucking boring-
His spiralling is interrupted by the dinging of the elevator to the common floor. No one was allowed up there unless it was extremely urgent. Guests were barely allowed into the Tower as it was.
It reveals the receptionist from downstairs, Marie. She’s always a little reserved, a little shy. But Bucky had seen her chew and spit out trespassers or anyone who dared to get on her nerve. He adores her.
“Hey, Marie,” Steve says while Bucky sends her a friendly wave in greeting. “What’s wrong?”
“There’s a hostage situation downtown,” she informs them.
“Okay...” Steve drawls, waiting for a reason why this was an Avengers level threat.
“They’ve asked for Mr. Barnes by name.” She makes a mention towards him.
Bucky sits up straight. Bits of popcorn fall off his chest.
“What?”
“They said, and I quote-” she looks down at her notepad. “‘Tell that grumpy motherfucker that I’m waiting for him and that he’s not getting out of this so easily because we have come too far.’ End quote. They’ve also told me to include a kissing emoji. And a skull.”
Steve and he look at each other.
“Well?” Steve prods.
Bucky sighs and gets up to go get ready.
The entrance of Chuck E. Cheese is more crowded than he’d ever seen. He wasn’t even sure he’d seen people in the store before. If there were, they probably only came up till his waist.
There are a few journalists, a few policemen standing together outside. Whispers of confusion and curiosity reigned free.
Bucky gently pushes his way to the front. He gets a nod from a police officer who opens the door for him after a quick briefing.
The place is darker than it usually would be. A trademark, it seemed. The blinds are drawn shut and most of the light is coming through whatever sneaks in through the crack.
“Hey, Barnes.” Your voice is muffled by a mask that looks suspiciously like it was made out of classroom craft supplies.
There’s a person in a loose chokehold in your hand with a gun pressed against his head. Once again it looks straight out of a cartoon, purple with round disks lining its barrel.
“What’s all this now?” He gestures around monotonously.
“A hostage situation. Didn’t you get the memo?”
“Got that part down, genius,” he bites back. “But why?”
“Fucker kept harassing me when I was walkin’ down the street.”
The guy’s helpless gaze met Bucky.
“Catcalling me, stalking me.” You tighten the grip you have on him. “Call me darlin’ one more time, you son of a bitch. I dare you.”
He wasn’t impressed with his pleading eyes. He kinda felt like he deserved it.
“Why’d you do it here?” The bright colours were starting to give him a heading. “And where are the staff?”
“It’s symbolic, Bucky,” you emphasise, “He deserves to be among other rat bastards.”
Of course.
“The staff?” he asks again.
“Gave them thirty bucks and told them to leave. I’m not a monster.”
“Right.” He doesn’t bother refuting you. “Why’d you call me here?”
“Dunno.” You shrug. “Thought it’d be fun. You having fun yet?”
You shake the guy you’re holding. He gives a small whimper.
Bucky doesn’t want to stop you. He had chugged enough Respect Juice in his lifetime to know that this guy probably deserved a threat or two.
Hell, he’d even help but you were more than capable of handling this on your own.
“Listen,” he sighed. “As much as I’m sure he deserves it, this is technically illegal and I’m required to stop you.”
“Sorry sarge, I thought you weren’t interested in playing this stupid game with me,” you mock, voice dropping to imitate him.
“I’m not.” It wasn’t entirely true. One Saturday with Jar Jar Binks had convinced him otherwise.
“Okay, so before you leave, do me a favour and call Hawkeye. I hear he looks mighty fine when he’s annoyed.”
His face involuntarily scrunched up. You were going to replace him with Clint? Clint?
He probably took it more as an insult than he should have.
“I’m not doing that.” Bless his foul mouthed friend, but he was a little shit who was too sarcastic for his own good. At least twice a week he’d say something stupid to Bucky and then take out his hearing aids when he tried to argue back.
“You’re leavin’ me with no options here,” you groaned, using your thumb to flip a switch. The gun looks like it powered up, lights along the side turning red.
If he let you have this, it’d be a bad look for the Avengers.
New York man dies in Chuck E. Cheese lone hostage situation, unable to be saved by same superhero who tried to fight Thanos with a machine gun.
“Tell ya what,” he says instead, “If you kill him, there won’t even be a slight chance that you’ll see me again.”
Your grip on the gun falters.
“If I let him go...”
“I might consider coming back next week.” He’s trying to spin it, make it look like he’s the one with the upper hand here. “But you gotta let him go.”
You search his face for any signs of dishonesty.
“Let him go or you’ll never see me again.” It sounds too much like Clint’s arguments with his dog who brought a live squirrel into the house.
“Fine,” you relent, a glint in your eye. “but say goodbye to this fuckface.”
Before Bucky can open his mouth to shout in protest, you pull the trigger. The man clenches his eyes shut, face red.
He expects blood to be splatter across his face.
Nothing happens.
A barrage of bubbles floats into the room.
“I meant it literally,” you say, pushing him off you. “Say goodbye. He’s leaving.”
The man stumbles to the ground and Bucky doesn’t make any attempt to catch him. He scrambles to his knees, picking himself up and scurrying out the door to a hoard of reporters.
The door shuts behind him with the chime of a bell.
“You’re annoying,” Bucky states, giving a small sigh.
“I’m well aware of that.” You pull off the mask, wiping the sweat off your brow.
“Where is the agent assigned to your case?”
“Dunno. Last I saw he was crying on the driveway of my lair. I just figured he’d pick himself up later so I left him there.”
Bucky’s nose twitches.
“You weren’t actually going to kill him, were you.” He shrugs with his shoulder towards the door. It wasn’t a question, more a statement. He knew you wouldn’t.
“I could have.”
“But you weren’t going to,” he repeats.
“No,” you admit. “I wasn’t. But I’m glad to see you showed up.”
“You held someone hostage as leverage.”
“No, no. I held someone hostage and then asked to see you. They were completely unrelated.”
“You’re evil.”
“You jumped to conclusions,” you point out. “Would you like a trampoline next time? Maybe a pogo stick, you clown?”
He has a very real gun in his holster. His very real metal death arm aches to use it.
“No one else agreed to come,” he deflects.
“We both know that’s a lie. You were going to come back anyway.” You stuff the bubble gun back into the bag. “I’m deliciously irresistible.”
“I beg to differ.”
“Then beg.” You give him a smirk and he rolls his eyes. “Don’t worry, you win this round, sarge.”
He doesn’t say anything. He watches you remove your heist gear, revealing normal civilian clothes underneath.
You walk casually to the kitchen, intending to leave through the back door.
“But I can’t say I lost either.” You send him a wink before swiftly pushing open the door and leaving him behind.
He only watches you leave.
It doesn’t hit him until a few seconds later that he let a criminal out of his hands when there were several policemen and journalists outside.
He entertains the idea of chasing you down and handing you over.
It takes him only a few seconds to decide that if they wanted you, they’d have to try themselves.

The Past Can Break You - 8
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
AU: Avengers
Summary: You and Bucky have been dating for aa few years. As far as you’re concerned he is the one. But what happens when a blast from the actual past shows up?
A/N: Ive seen a lot stories of Bucky getting his first love from the 40′s back. And I’ve always wondered... what would happen if he was dating someone already? Reader is from this time. Not proofread.
Warning: None in this chapter
--
Later that night you stand on the roof, overlooking the property to the compound. You start thinking about everything that has happened over the last week, no the last few months. Before you can think of too much, you hear the door. You turn around and see Bucky looking at you.
“Hi,” you say softly, giving him a small smile.
Bucky sees the heartbreak in your face regardless, and he just wants to die because he knows it’s because of him. “Hi my--,” he stops himself because he knows you don’t want to hear him call you “my love”.
“Thank you for meeting me. I know you probably don’t want to see me,” Bucky said sadly.
“Bucky... Nat told me that it wasn’t true. What I heard. That Dot planned all this to separate us, and it worked. But... I can’t help it that my heart breaks every time I think about what I heard. You...” you choke on a sob.
“She made it sound like you were making love to her. I heard your moans. I heard you say you love her. You said her name!” you yell and start to sob, collapsing on the ground.
Bucky runs up to you and wraps you in his arms. “I’m so sorry sweetheart. I’m so sorry you had to hear that, but I swear to God, on everything in my life, I would never do that to you. I love you with all my heart. I love you, Y/N. You’re it for me,” he says against to the top of your head.
You pull yourself away from him slightly and lean your forehead against his, “I’m so sorry I didn’t trust you enough to realize she planned this,” you said.
“No, you have nothing to be sorry about. This is all my fault. I encouraged her in the beginning. Dot has always gotten what she wanted, and I should have guessed she wouldn’t have gone down quietly. But I promise I will make her pay,” Bucky says angrily.
“I don’t know how to feel about this. I mean I know I have to keep hiding, but after hearing what I heard, real or not, I know my imagination with run away with me,” you say sadly.
Bucky looks at you, and brushes some hair out of your face. You lean in and kiss him softly, but with passion. “I love you Bucky,” you say.
“I love you too. And you don’t have to worry, I’m not going to sleep with her,” he says.
“Nat said you have to seduce her. How are you going to without--” Bucky interrupted you quickly.
“Baby, I. Will. Not. Sleep. With. Her. I promise. I will not let it come to that. Hell I won’t even kiss her. She needs to learn a lesson, and I will make sure she does, without hurting you any further,” he said before kissing you softly on the lips.
You pull him close and hug him tightly. Suddenly a thought comes to your head. You look up at Bucky and give him a smirk. Did you just come up with your own plan?
Yeah, you did.
--
You walk into the lab where you knew Tony would be. Tony looks up at you with a smile, “Hey kiddo. How are you holding up?” he asks.
You shrug in response, “How would you feel if you fell for a trap that separated you from Pepper, and then had to watch Pepper seduce the asshole that separated you, all from the shadows so they think you are gone,” you ask.
Tony sighed, “I’m just sorry I showed her anything that had to do with FRIDAY. I blame myself.”
“Tony, how would you know that she would pick up things so quickly? Please don’t blame yourself,” you say.
Tony gives you a smile, “Well if you need any help from me, please ask, because I want to make up for my stupidity,” he says.
You smile, “Well that’s actually why I am here. I kinda need you to throw a huge party.”

Hey I was wondering if you could write a MM imagine where him and the reader have only gone on a couple of dates then when the announcement of the first lockdown is made he asks the reader to isolate with him? Then I was thinking while they’re isolating they’re experiencing a few Firsts with each other (e.g., cooking together, sharing a bed, movie nights, cuddles and kisses etc).
I didn't know how to write this without being super long and boring so I was going to section it off but hopefully it still gives off the same energy then a normal write lmao, also thank you for the request and this is such a good idea 😩. I didn't really know what other firsts to do😕 I haven’t proof read this either, so it could make no sense at all and probably have spelling mistakes but pls just power through it 🤞🏼
Warning: None.
Tumblr media
Lockdown was being announced and everyone was panicking, the news emphasised on the amount of food people were buying and how there was no loo roll left but also about how relationships weren't going to work out due to being locked in the houses for all this time without seeing your significant other or because you was seeing them too much.
You had only been on a couple of dates with Mason, but you both knew that you wanted to pursue something more personal and deep and not just mess around for the fun of it. Thats why when he asked you to isolate with him you didn't hesitate to say yes. Even though the news told you otherwise of how to feel you simply ignored and couldn't wait to spend as much time with him as possible, building up a true connection between you both and making your bond stronger.
Cuddling and kisses and sharing a bed.
You arrived earlier in the day and had already taken your things to the spare bedroom and now sat on his couch, him on the opposite side. You guys hadn't stopped talking throughout the whole movie that played and eventually when it ended you insisted that you bought a takeaway for the both of you.
He agreed and when the pizza arrived you both sat at the table and had a slice, talking endlessly about random things like 'why colours are named what they are' and 'how were humans created'. After about an hour, it was dark out and just turned 9pm.
"I'm gonna get comfy and ready for bed."
"Yeah, I'll meet you up there in a few." He smiled and kissed your cheek, grabbing the box and walking off outside.
It was pretty cold out so you pulled on a hoodie and joggers, and you removed your makeup and cleaned your face and teeth and sat on the bed in the free room on your phone.
He knocked on the door and peaked his head through the door frame at about 10.
"You coming?" He gestures to his room.
"Oh yeah, hold up." You smile watching him leave.
He lay on the bed on his phone, lighting up when he saw you enter.
"You don't have to stay in here if you don't want to." He stated, watching as you climbed into bed next to him.
"No, I want to." You snuggled up next to him, resting your head on the pillow.
"I want you to, too." He put an arm around your waist and finally rested down after turning the light off on the bedside table.
You were both submerged in complete darkness, a tranquil atmosphere surrounded you both, the duvet lazily spread across you and your faces faced each other. His eyes were closed, but you lightly leaned in and pecked his lips causing him to open his eyes.
"Goodnight." You said, looking up at him.
"Goodnight pretty." He smiled, kissing you again lightly and resting his head.
You fell asleep in his arms, totally engulfed with his care and serenity, it rubbed off onto you. This was the best sleep you ever had in ages, and you wanted to do it a lot more.
Cooking.
"Hey! Thats not where the flour goes." You retaliated at Mason putting the flour on your nose, a sneeze followed shortly after.
"Oh, my bad." He giggled, sticking the rest of the flour in the bowl.
"These are going to be the best cupcakes you have ever baked."You said, mixing all the ingredients with all the strength you had.
"Yeah? I reckon by myself I could cook some pretty good cupcakes. With no help of Course." He leaned against the counter, his apron said 'world best chef' and he was covered in all ingredients that you didn't even know had to be in the cupcakes.
"Well, we will see about that once you taste my cakes." You smirked, sticking your tongue out at him and wiping a little bit of frosting on his cheek. "Got u back." You giggled.
He grabbed you by your waist and pulled you closer to him so your front's were together.
"You look amazing cooking.." He cheekily smiled.
"Not too bad yourself." You kissed him, he deepened the kiss and ran his hand up your back, until you felt a hard crack on your head and then an ooze of a liquid go down your back, mason was laughing uncontrollably, holding his stomach and near enough rolling on the floor.
"Mason!" You shouted, shocked and holding your head, "Did you just egg me?" You laughed, grabbing the egg that was on you and smearing it all over him.
"Two can play that game!" You giggled, grabbing flower and eggs.
Fight and makeup.
"No, I just don't particularly like her. You told me about what she did, she's a bad influence." He argued back.
"Oh, so she's a bad influence? So you think I would do something like that?" You scoffed. Your friend invited you to go on a walk around the park, and you told Mason but when he heard your friends name he instantly scoffed and shrugged his shoulders. He had no care about it and sighed, telling you to just 'do what you wanna, your choice at the end of the day.'. You asked why he was being so moody and he replied that he doesn't like her, and you understood why but because he didn't like her didn't mean that you couldn't hang with her. You did tell him that she did cheat on her boyfriend and you completely disagreed with her actions too but now he was saying she was a 'bad influence' like you was going to be influenced by what she did and start following her actions like you was a child.
"Its only for a catch up Mase, I haven't seen her in like 3 weeks. I haven't been at work remember and ive been locked up here."
"Yes, but anyone but her. We could go. I't doesn't matter, just go. Ill see you when you get back." And then he stormed off up to his gaming room, releasing all his stress on his games.
After about 40 minutes, you realised he was right, it wasn't just the cheating but she just overall was a bad person and you shouldn't have been encouraging such gossip with her.
You entered his room and put your hands on his shoulders, he looked back at you and then carried on his game like you wasn't even there.
"I'm sorry Mase, you was right. I can surround myself with much better people, and I will."
He turned his chair around so he was facing you and grabbed your hips to sit you down on his lap.
"It's okay, and ill go on that walk with you. Let me just finish this game." He said, smiling lightly and giving you a kiss which you returned.
Go-to support.
It was about 2 months into lockdown and your work had been piling up. You was stressed and so not motivated to do anything, even getting up out of bed was hard.
This day was particularly a struggle. You had to finish a presentation and only had today to do it, so you panicked and speeded it, finishing it as quick as ou could without caring about the outcome and just sending it off.
You sat at the kitchen table with your face in your hands, thinking about all the possibilities, will you lose your job? Will you get demoted? You just couldn't stop your mind from wandering.
"Are you okay babe?" You heard Masons voice from behind you and felt a hand on your back soothing you.
You couldn't hold it in anymore and broke down, whimpering and wiping your eyes.
"Mason I need a break from work, its so stressful and I think with the work I just did I'm going to lose my job and im just not motivated to do anything and I-" you rambled on, until he cut you off.
"Hey, hey calm down," He crouched down and placed his hand on the side of your face, wiping your tears away with his thumb. "Don't beat yourself up about it. It's happening to everyone now, im sure if we ask your work to give you some time for your mental health im sure they would let you." he smiled reassuringly.
"We?" You sniffed.
"Yeah, we. We're gonna get through this together. Now, it's always we." He stood up and hugged you tight.
Love and a movie night.
It's been about a 5 months now, and you and Mason had been going strong.
Mason insisted that you watch a movie tonight, sit down with some popcorn and snuggle up together. Of course you said yes.
About halfway in the movie, a conversation popped up about 'what would you do if you was a worm?' and you couldn't stop laughing, at both of your responses.
"Yeah, but I would definitely still love you if you was a worm." He joked, laughing with you.
You stopped almost instantly, looking over at him.
"What?" He looked over, confused.
"Did you just say that you love me?" You questioned, sitting up.
"You didn't hear? I love you." He smiled, chuckling.
you gasped, putting your hands over your mouth. He reached out and grabbed your face.
"I love you." He repeated, just for you to realise what he did, so you could know that it was real, to process the words.
"I love you." You stated, grinning from ear to ear.

everything happens for a reason part 5 - zuko x fem!reader
I can go anywhere I want, I can go anywhere just not home
part 4 | masterlist | part 6
a/n: this was hard to get going but once i got to the end the words just flowed. ive come to the conclusion that writing dialogue with katara is my favorite thing to do
warning(s): nightmare at the beginning, survivor's guilt from y/n, some internalized homophobia :-( but aside from that its mostly fluff
wc: 3.6k
chapter title comes from my tears ricochet by taylor swift!
Tumblr media
She was trapped.
It was a prison of never ending hallways in some kind of infinite void, complete with the rank stench of death and an innate feeling of hopelessness.
Y/N knew this place. It had been the subject of her nightmares on countless occasions, because it was where she was supposed to be. She had no choice but to start down the pathway of cracked stone — she knew what awaited her, but it was the only way out. She had developed some sick sense of awareness in this nightmare and it didn’t do her any favors.
She began to walk hastily down the path, the itch of paranoia already plaguing the back of her mind. Countless times she had been here, and yet it never got better.
Before Y/N knew it, she had reached her unwanted destination. The first tangible thing in what felt like miles was a prison cell, and she pushed forward despite knowing what awaited her. It was the only way.
“It wasn’t the only way.”
She froze, inhaling sharply as the dreamscape seemed to pull her thoughts out of her mind, and she forced herself to take another step closer, the inhabitant of the cell now visible.
“You did this to me.”
It was her mother, but… not quite her. Her voice strained and stiff, a gaunt appearance with cruel eyes, hunched over in a prison cell. Any sign of the woman Y/N knew her as was gone, and it was her fault. She was the reason Kura was gone — a mother’s ultimate sacrifice because her daughter was too stuck in her head.
“How could you do this to me?” she asked. “How could you be so selfish?”
Y/N tried to respond, but she couldn’t. It was no use anyway — her words would’ve come out in broken, pleading rambles to someone who couldn’t hear a thing. She knew it was fake, she knew this was a nightmare, but it still hurt all the same.
She had imagined her mother saying those words to her so many times they had found their way into her nightmares despite knowing that Kura would never utter a single syllable true to her fears. She had all but killed her mother, and instead of remembering her for what she had done for Y/N, she appeared in her nightmares.
She was a horrible daughter.
She heard footsteps and whirled around, instinctively taking a step back and wincing as her back slammed into the bars. A tall, dark figure creeped towards her and her breath caught in her throat — as it came into the light, she recognized him as the Fire Lord.
He chuckled coldly as he neared ever closer, the path he walked turning to flames behind him. Her eyes darted around for an escape only to find that everything was on fire. It was suffocating, she couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t think, and when she turned to look for her mother she was gone. Everything was gone, her dark void now a prison of flames.
She turned around once more and Ozai was right in front of her, the fire in his hands glowing red hot and a cruel smile on his lips.
“Did you really think you could get away that easily?”
-
She shot up in her bed, a scream on the edge of her lips but just barely managing to hold it back. Ragged breaths were ripped from her chest, her eyes shooting around wildly as she attempted to find anything at all to ground her. It took a few minutes, but with repeated mantras of it was just a dream and you are safe, she was able to calm down.
She pulled her knees to her chest and exhaled long and deep before pulling herself out of bed. It seemed that her day was going to be starting much earlier than planned.
Four years had passed since her arrival at the Northern Water Tribe, but the nightmares never ceased. It didn’t matter how many times she told herself she had done the right thing, that it was what her mother wanted, that if she stayed she would’ve died — she was constantly haunted by her past actions and memories of the Fire Nation.
She hasn’t taken off the necklace since her mother gave it to her, no matter what she does. It’s almost become a part of her now — a memory of Kura and her selflessness that knew no bounds, as well as a grim reminder of what it cost to get her here.
The Northern Water Tribe itself held countless memories of her mother — after all, it was where she had spent the first eighteen years of her life. Her name was well known throughout the tribe with nobles and elders alike, and it amazed Y/N to no end the impact that her mother left everywhere she went. She loved hearing stories about her mother and what she was like as a child, but it was always bittersweet.
She always carried an inherent sense of guilt with her because of who she lived with — her mother hadn’t been lying when she said that the necklace would get them to help her. Kura’s parents still lived in the tribe, and they had taken Y/N in after she revealed who she was. They loved her unconditionally and never made her feel like a burden, but Y/N would be lying to herself if she didn’t think they blamed her for the fate that befell her mother.
After all, she did.
She had never told anyone the full story of why she ran though. It was one thing to leave her mother behind for certain death because of the Fire Lord’s rage, it was another thing to admit that it was wholly her fault because she had fallen for a prince.
Zuko.
Not a day went by where she didn’t think of him. She still held the hope that she would see him again someday, but in lieu of travel she turned to letters.
Y/N had a shelf full of unmailed letters addressed to both Zuko and her mother — it was a way to get out her emotions whenever she was feeling particularly homesick or hopeless, and it did help at first, but after four years it had become something born out of habit rather than necessity.
She still wrote them though — Y/N had learned to hold onto any form of hope she could muster up, no matter how small, and in this moment she needed some.
She opened her shelf and rifled through piles upon piles of letters, some finished, some hardly started, and some crumpled from fits of rage, and her breath caught in her throat when her fingers brushed something different. Y/N pulled the material out and nearly started crying right then and there.
It was an unbelievably simple patch of fabric, but it meant the world to her — something that she had bought during her last night with Zuko, and one of the only pieces of material to have survived her journey to the Northern Water Tribe. She was forced to sell the rest of the fabric she had brought with her in order to make some easy money while on the run, but she had kept this as a memento. She could almost be brought back to the final sunset they shared if she looked at it for long enough.
Y/N bit down hard on her lip to stop the tears and shoved it back into the drawer before closing it and leaving her room in a haste. Sometimes she wasn’t strong enough to handle the memories.
She made her way to the living room and let out a sigh of relief when she noticed the silence. Y/N had never told her grandparents about the nightmares, and right now she just needed some time to herself. Never before was she so thankful for her grandmother’s gossiping nature and her grandfather’s work than she was in the mornings where she just wanted to be alone.
She sat down on the floor, not even bothering to get a cushion, and stared at her hands. Once smooth and untouched by the world, they were now rough and calloused with wrapped bandages resting just below her wrist. Permanent memories of what it took to get here. The ever present reminder that nothing came without a cost.
This morning seemed to be one full of yearning for the past. Y/N tried to shake her feelings off and got up once more, contemplating some steamed sea prunes before deeming it fruitless. Her appetite was lacking after her trip down memory lane.
She walked back to her room and got dressed hastily then ran out the door, but not before plucking a gift from her shelf. Today marked the birthday of a certain princess, and Y/N had to go fast if she was going to get it to her before class.
She was immediately hit by the frigid air of the North, pulling her anorak tighter around her frame as she began to run to the canals — one could always find Princess Yue there in the mornings — doing her best to avoid anyone else walking.
Y/N saw Yue just about to board one of the boats and sped up, waving one of her arms as a signal. “Yue, wait!”
She turned and her face immediately brightened up at the sight of Y/N, raising her open palm so the boatman would hold up. “Y/N! Would you like to join me?”
She raised her eyebrows. “Really?”
Yue’s nod prompted a shrug as she dropped down carefully into the gondola, taking extra care not to drop her gift, and took a seat next to her friend.
“This is a nice surprise,” Yue smiled as the boatman began to waterbend, effectively moving their gondola through the canal. “But if I might ask, what brought you here so early?”
Y/N laughed, thinking her reason for coming here obvious. “It’s your birthday, princess! What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t come to wish you well in person?”
Her smile grew even brighter, the corners of her eyes creasing up in the way that made some kind of warmth blossom in Y/N’s chest. “Thank you! That’s so sweet — I’m especially honored that you woke up early just for me.”
“Of course.” Y/N brandished the gift she had been doing her best to hide, unable to do the same for her own smile. “And here’s your gift! I sewed it all myself.”
Yue gasped as she took the creation, giving it a slight squeeze and a thorough investigation before absolutely beaming. “You made me an otter penguin— oh, you know how much I love these!”
She wrapped Y/N in a tight hug before pulling away, but it was just long enough for the heat to rush to her cheeks. “Thank you so much, really. You don’t know how much this means to me.”
Y/N beamed at the praise and nodded, shifting a little in her seat. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m glad you like it so much.”
The two girls grinned at each other then turned their gaze to the horizon, content to spend the rest of the ride together in comfortable silence.
Her friendship with the princess of the Northern Water Tribe was something that Y/N cherished with all her heart. She could confidently say that Princess Yue was her best friend, and she hoped it was a notion that Yue shared. As beautiful as she was kind, the princess always had a way of making her feel better on the hardest days — Yue was the only one who knew the whole truth of what happened in the Fire Nation, and she offered nothing but sympathy.
Y/N honestly didn’t know what she would do without Yue. She had been her rock during the whole process of getting situated in the tribe, always lending a helping hand when she stumbled in class or was completely oblivious to something in their culture, and she never made her feel stupid, or unwanted, or less-than for what she had come from.
The only thing that confused her about Yue was the feeling she got whenever Y/N was around her. The rushes of heat to her cheeks, the warmth blossoming in her chest, and the unusual happiness she felt anytime Yue smiled at her. The most peculiar of it all was the strange tug of jealousy any time a noble boy tried to flirt with the princess, and nothing but disinterest whenever they tried an angle on her instead.
She didn’t know what any of it meant, but she had the sneaking suspicion that it was wrong. So Y/N did the only thing she could and suppressed it.
Soon enough, though much to their chagrin, Y/N had to leave. After some exchanged hugs and one last wish of happy birthday, Y/N took off for her morning healing class. But as she hurried down the icy paths, she caught sight of the most peculiar thing.
A giant flying bison was being led through the canals with a team of waterbenders, three kids that couldn’t be any older than her on its back. One had an arrow on his head and sported orange and yellow robes, while the other two looked to be of Water Tribe descent.
Her interest was irrefutably piqued, but she didn’t have any more time to waste with gawking. So she began to run once again, apologies spilling from her lips as she maneuvered through the groups of people all just as awestruck by the strange arrival as she was. Y/N made a mental note to ask Yue about it later, but for now she was running very late to her healing class.
-
Sure enough, a few hours later, Y/N was able to get the answers she had been craving. She met up with Yue outside of the palace, and during a short walk, she learned that the boy was the Avatar. He had come to the Northern Water Tribe to master waterbending, and the two kids with him were his companions from the Southern Tribe — much to her excitement, the girl was a waterbender.
Needless to say, Y/N was even more enthusiastic than before, and Yue made her day by confirming that they would be coming to her birthday celebration that night as honored guests. She had already talked to her father about allowing Y/N to sit with her and he had said yes, which meant that she would get to meet him and his friends in person — it just served as a reminder that Y/N had no idea what she would do without Yue.
After what felt like hours of passing the time with lost games of Pai Sho against her grandfather and failed attempts at finishing her homework, it was finally time for the banquet. Once she arrived at the front of the palace she bid goodbye to her grandparents and went to find the seat that Yue had secured for her.
She settled down in the empty spot next to what she assumed was Yue’s — it was her birthday after all, so a dramatic entrance wasn’t out of the question — and nervously glanced at the three visitors, trying to figure out how to introduce herself.
Thankfully, she was saved when the girl met her eyes and waved, offering a friendly smile. “Hi! I’m Katara; this is my brother Sokka, and that’s Aang.” She gestured in their direction with her head when she said their names and they both smiled and gave her polite nods.
She returned the sentiment gratefully. “I’m Y/N— I’m one of Princess Yue’s friends. Welcome to the Northern Water Tribe!”
“Thanks!” Aang said. “We’re here to find a master so Katara and I can master waterbending.”
“Well, you’re in luck. Master Pakku is one of the best there is, and even though he’s a total jerk, he’ll be able to teach you everything you need to know. And Katara, we have some amazing healing teachers— I can bring you along to my class tomorrow if you’re interested!”
Katara’s eyes lit up. “You’re a waterbender too?” When Y/N nodded, her smile grew even bigger, though slightly wistful.
“I’d really appreciate that,” she admitted, though her brows knit together. “But I’d like to learn from Master Pakku as well.”
Y/N frowned, about to correct her, when the distinct sound of drums began to echo throughout the hall. Her displeasure immediately disappeared as she grinned at them all excitedly, gesturing with her head towards the action.
Chief Arnook stood up from his spot and their table, his low voice booming. “Tonight, we celebrate the arrival of our brother and sister from the Southern Tribe. And they have brought with them someone very special, someone whom many of us believed disappeared from the world until now… the Avatar!”
Y/N’s own applause joined a symphony of others clapping and cheering as Aang waved bashfully, and once it died down, Arnook continued. “We also celebrate my daughter’s sixteenth birthday. Princess Yue is now of marrying age!”
She grinned as Yue walked out alongside her attendants — she would never get used to her beauty. Y/N noticed the way that Sokka’s eyes widened as he stared at her, and her stomach twisted at the act for some unknown reason.
“Thank you, Father,” she said. “May the great Ocean and Moon Spirits watch over us during these troubled times!”
Arnook smiled at his daughter and directed his attention back to his people. “Now, Master Pakku and his students will perform!”
She could tell that Katara and Aang were enraptured by the bending, while Sokka’s attention was already on Yue as she walked over to sit between Sokka and Y/N.
“I’m so glad you could make it!” Yue exclaimed, greeting her friend with a short embrace.
Y/N gave her a sideways smile. “If you think that I would miss your birthday and a banquet, then I’m afraid you’re out of practice on Y/N trivia.”
The princess laughed and nodded amiably then turned her attention to Sokka, ever the diplomat.
“Hi there,” he grinned. “Sokka, Southern Water Tribe.”
Yue returned the sentiment and gave him a slight bow. “Very nice to meet you.”
As their conversation went on, Y/N found herself tuning out a bit. For whatever reason, she had to actively stop herself from rolling her eyes at Sokka’s flirting, that same feeling in her stomach coming back. She made a mental note to see a healer about her issues.
“Hey, Y/N!” She snapped out of her self-imposed trance at the sound of Katara calling her name as she gestured for her to come over. It looked like Aang had gotten up to converse with Master Pakku and Chief Arnook, so she took the invitation and switched seats.
“I can’t tell you how nice it is to finally be here,” Katara said once Y/N had settled next to her. “Back home, I’m the only waterbender. Here… it’s like paradise. It almost feels too good to be true. I mean, even seeing you is crazy — I’ve never met a waterbender my age.”
Y/N smiled, though not without a hint of sadness. “I’m sorry that it’s taken so long for you to be able to experience this. How are you the only bender left down there?”
Katara was silent for a moment, a flurry of emotions warring on her face, before she answered. “The Southern Tribe hasn’t fared half as well as the Northern Tribe during the war. We don’t have one big, huge capital like this, we’re all split up into small villages. The Fire Nation has just been relentless with their raids, and without support from the North and a lack of communication between our sister tribes in the South, they were able to wipe us all out. Except for me.”
“Spirits, Katara…” Y/N set an amiable hand on her shoulder and squeezed, hoping that her softened expression could say what her words couldn’t. “My village was invaded when I was young, too. I’m so sorry that you had to go through that.”
She nodded pensively but managed to meet her eyes with an appreciative smile. “Thank you. I’m sorry about your village as well.” Her gaze drifted off, once again taking in the view around them, and when Katara met her eyes again she seemed better. “But we’re here now, and I’m planning to take advantage of everything I can, starting with all this food. Which one of these is your favorite?”
Y/N grinned as Katara pointed at the platter of various dishes in front of them. “Oh, you’ve got to try this. See that giant crab up there? That’s what this is, and you have not lived until you have tried Northern crab.”
Conversation flowed just as easily through the rest of the night between the two girls, occasionally switching to include Sokka and Yue and eventually Aang once he returned. Between the swells of pride whenever they laughed at her jokes, getting to learn about all three of them, and the almost palpable euphoria in the air, Y/N was sure of one thing:
This was the happiest she had felt in a long time. She could only hope it would last.

BRO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A POLY ASK: AND A YANDERE ONE??? THIS IS A GOLD MINE Thank you so much butterscotch princess😭
CW: mental/physical abuse, kidnap, fighting
Tumblr media
Of course you love the both of them, if not you wouldn't be here. Or at least you did love them. They were a couple and you weren't particularly interested in being a home wrecker. Yet, you can't hide anything from these two, they're definitely not stupid. To be honest things were becoming stale for Hisoka, and that's when they invited you into their relationship. Everything seemed so perfect at first, two men that you loved dearly who provided a balanced life. You could go to Hisoka for something exciting and new, but sit down with Illumi and relax. The three of you made a power throuple. But if it seems like it is too good to be true, it is. It really was too good.
It had been a few months into the relationship when there were red flags. Illumi and Hisoka never fought for each other, they never had to. You made sure they had their own time with each other. It was when it came to you that there was a problem. Constant arguing and fights over who gets to spend time with you and enjoy your company. Your idea of all of you hanging out was shut down, they each wanted their alone time with you. It went on like this for a few months. Until one day, it all stopped.
Suddenly it seemed as if your boyfriends had never fought in the first place. They never argued over spending time with you, they just knew when they could be with you one on one. At first you thought it was great. You were worried about their relationship for one another, and if it would last much longer like this. They must have talked about it civilly, otherwise it couldn't be so easy for them.
All of the red flags had been lowered and it was back to the honeymoon phase. The three of you got to cuddle at night while you could still have coffee with just one of them in the morning, or they could together. Honestly you weren't so sure about a polyamorous relationship in the beginning, but now you wouldn't change it for the world. Well, at that time you wouldn't have.
Suddenly the atmosphere changed, and you did not see it coming. Whenever you planned to go out, Hisoka and Illumi seemed to be on the same page about you not leaving. ----
"Hey, I'm gonna go hang out with some friends, I'll see you guys later!" You called out as you tied your shoes.
Illumi began taking off your coat and now you were very confused. "You shouldn't go out." He stated.
Hisoka chimed in from the kitchen while he made coffee, "It's going to rain, we don't want you to get caught in a storm."
"I'll just bring an umbrella, and anyway, Daisy will just drive me home." You responded.
Illumi shook his head and hung up your coat, "The news said it would be really bad today."
Hisoka added, "You guys may not even be able to drive in that kind of rain."
---- Everytime it went like this, there was always an excuse. It even got so bad that you were fired from your job. You spend every day at home now. Any time you even mention leaving anymore now, it isn't just excuses. "You won't be able to protect yourself." "Fine, if you get hurt it's your fault." "You can't apply to another job, you really think you can get another one after being fired?" Always something, and it's really starting to get to you. Soon enough it only escalated at it had been. You got dressed to leave and ignored their excuses, opening the door and stepping out. That's when it happened, that's when everything really changed. As you went to shut the door behind yourself, it slammed shut. It slammed shut right on your fingers.
Illumi came out and carried you back inside while you gasped and cradled your hand to your chest. "This is what happens when you don't listen to us. You'll get hurt." That's when you realized how bad things really had gotten. You were pretty sure that three of your fingers were broken, but Illumi wrapped them up with a splint and called it a day.
You just can't do this anymore. If they aren't going to let you leave, then you're going to have to sneak out. Or devise a plan. Of course Hisoka went through your messages, but that would be perfect for your plan. You managed to create a text chain with your 'sick older sister'. She asked that you come to see her ASAP because she is not doing well. This is something that they would allow you to do since it would be a one time thing.
As you laced your shoes and shrugged on a jacket, Hisoka and Illumi watched. Hisoka's hand was wrapped around Illumi's waist, and you could see his anxious grip on him.
"Okay, I'll be back at 4 pm." You had learned to lie through your teeth like a pro.
Hisoka forced a smile and nodded, "Illumi will be there to pick you up."
You give the both of them a quick kiss on the cheek and trot out of the door while waving. "See you soon!"
The sound of the door clicking closed behind you was the sound of jail break. You couldn't help it... You skipped down the hallway while giggling, until your skip turned into a run. And when you turned around? No one was there.
----
Killua and Gon were a god send. They accepted you as a person and your friendship became unbreakable. Each day when you woke up, you were excited to face the day. Most of your free time is spent with these two goof balls. If not with them, you're working.
They swung by your workplace when your shift ended so you guys could hangout. While these two are younger than you, they're very mature. Sometimes. And all of their friends are your friends, Kurapika and Leorio who are closer to your age. You would hang out with them too if it weren't for the fact they were always out of town for work.
The three of you make your way to the convenience store. Killua had been begging for the past two days that you guys go get Choco Robots.
Gon checks his phone and announces, "Kurapika and Leorio will be back tomorrow! Leorio said they got a hotel room for the night and would be back to travelling by tomorrow."
You and Killua know that means they're sharing a bed, but Gon is oblivious. And it's really not important for Gon to know at the moment.
Killua throws his arms in the air and yawns, "You always get off work so late. Why can't you work any earlier?"
"Tell that to my manager, she's the one in control of that." You retort.
An idea pops into Gon's head and you can tell because his eyes light up. "Instead of going all the way home, you should sleep over with us tonight! Alluka would love to see you again!"
"You know that her place is closer to us right now than ours, right?" Killua asks.
Gon's eyebrows furrow and he puts a finger to his lip, "Oh yeah..."
The convenience store's doors slide open and make a quiet 'ding' sound. Killua makes a bee line for the Choco Robots and begins putting the whole stock into a basket. You and Gon look at the drinks section and he settles on some strawberry lemonade. Besides the sleeping cashier, you three are the only ones perusing through the gas station sized mart.
Gon is pointing out the condoms and asking what they are when the soft 'ding' of the door sounds out. Killua is blushing and telling him to put the box back while you hold back laughter.
"Gon! Stop it! Just- just put them back!" He stutters out. They may have seemed mature for their age at first, but moments like this make you question it.
You feel a hot breath on the back of your neck and the voice to follow shakes you to your core.
"So this is where you've been hiding."
You whip around and push Hisoka away from you, it doesn't do anything but he does step back. Next to him is Illumi, eyeing not only you but his little brother. You knew they were brothers because Killua told you, but you never expected to see them in the same room together.
Killua's eyes go wide and Gon is already in a defensive position.
Ilumi takes his attention away from Killua and he leers at you instead. "That was a long trip to the hospital. Did you get lost leaving the building?"
"Hey! Why don't you just leave y/n alone?!" Gon barks at them.
It all happens in seconds, if you had blinked you would have missed it. Killua is slammed into the floor and his head makes a hard 'clunk' sound. Before Gon has the chance to attack, he's throw into a display rack, and tumbles to the ground. Killua is too dazed to react. Hisoka makes sure Gon can't get back up by stomping on his stomach, making him cough up blood.
Your last moment of freedom is spent by watching your friends be beat up. A cloth is pressed against your mouth and nose, and your arms are held behind your back. It smells heavily like cleaning supplies, potent ones. It takes a few breaths before you get dizzy, and until you begin losing control of your body. Hisoka is bent down in front of you and he places a kiss to your forehead.
You wish you knew what he said, but you've already succumbed to unconsciousness. Your freedom is relinquished once again.

Love Eventually Wins (A.B) Part 2
(Part 1)
Andy Barber Fanfiction (Fanfiction Master List)
Warnings: Angst but eventual fluff.
Summary: dad! Andy Barber x female reader. You juggle in the hospital between your dad and your son. You haven't forgiven Andy for what he said to you but you guys talk it out in the end and it's all eventual fluff.
._._._._.
“Dad, you are going to be fine. We are all going to wait for you after the surgery.” Gently kissing your father on your head, you held back your tears because you didn’t want him to back down from his decision. You just prayed to God that this operation would be successful because you had already lost your mother to a car accident when you were four, so it was just you, Julie and your dad. You could not afford to lose another family member and you wanted Gabriel to know his grandfather when he grows up.
“Okay, sweetie. Will see you after.” He looked so pale and sickly just lying on that uncomfortable hospital bed. Silently kissing him on the forehead, the nurses took him away to the operation theatre.
When you got out of the room, your little sister immediately took you in a bone crushing hug and started sobbing uncontrollably. “It’s all going to be okay, Julie.” You tried to console her but there wasn’t much you could say to convince her when you yourself were worried.
After about half an hour, you finally got her to quiet down and then went to check up on your son in the pediatric ward. The receptionist pointed you towards a NICU ward that kept babies from the age of six months to two years and you didn’t know why he was admitted in to the hospital so you internally freaked out on the way there.
“Hi. The doctor said that Gabriel had some kind of stomach infection so they will have him on IV drips and antibiotics for two days.” Andy explained it to you as soon as you entered the room and went to your son’s crib. He was in the crib in a small hospital gown and God, you hated this sight. Touching his forehead, you realised that his temperature was higher than when it was at home.
“His fever is way too high right now.” Looking at your husband, you felt so helpless because your father and your son were sick and you didn’t know what to do.
“The doc said that it will return back to normal in no time.” Andy was observing you from the moment you entered the hospital room. Puffy eyes, rosy cheeks and a tear stained face was a completely new look for you. He wanted to be there for you but he knew that you had still not forgiven him. It was not easy to forget the things that he said, even if he didn’t mean it.
“Oh okay. I am just going to sit here with him.”
“I will bring you some coffee because you haven’t eaten since morning.”
“Non-”
“Non filtered, without sugar. I know.” He lightly kissed you on the forehead but was slightly hurt when you didn’t give him a smile like you always did. He could feel a wall separating the two of you and the only thing that he wants is to tear that wall down. Why could he not keep his mouth shut and let you talk? Everything would have been alright then.
“Hey, baby. I need you to be fine really fast, okay. Mommy needs you to get through all of this and I love you so much.” Gripping on to his little hand, you gently rest your head against the crib. The nurse came after sometime and you asked her is she could stay with Gabriel for sometime. Everything was too much for you and you just needed to vent it all out in private.
“Hi. Where is my wife?”
“She said she needed some fresh air.”
“Okay, I am just leaving the coffee here. You are going to stay with him, right?”
You were just looking at the stars and remembering the time when you spent countless college nights with Andy on the rooftop, just staring at the stars. It quickly became your thing and now you were sitting here all alone. A few tears escaped you when you remembered all the things that your husband said. It was still too much to comprehend.
“Please, don’t cry. I am truly sorry for all the things that I said.” Sitting next to you on the bench, he didn’t have the power to look you in the eyes. He was too embarrassed. It was his job to let no harm come to you but now he was the one who is causing the harm. He just wanted someone to beat the crap out of him and punish him for making you feel unworthy.
“I know you said that you didn’t mean a word of it but I know that’s not true. I know you better than you know yourself.” You looked at him from under your eyelashes and saw a look of realisation cross his face. Andy thought that he could just hide it from you because of all the things that you have been going through. He sometimes did forget that if he could easily read you then you could do the same.
“So the district attorney has been telling me that I am not doing my job properly because I am a family man now. I am too distracted on my job and the last case, the witness didn’t show up and Jacqueline just laid it out on me. She even gave my next big case to Carter and I just lost it on you. I am so sorry.”
Tears welled up in his eyes when he realised how innocent you were in this whole situation and he had no right to make you feel so bad about yourself. He didn’t dare move his face away from the stars and you knew the guilt was eating him up inside.
“Hey, look at me.” Gently placing your hands on his bearded face, you made him look at you. “I was being genuine when I said that you can take a break from us. I won’t mind.”
“No, I don’t. It was all said out in anger and you don’t know how sorry I am. Please don’t think like that because you are my whole world.” His heart was tearing up in pieces and you were the only one who could fix it.
“Okay but what about Jacqueline then?”
“I will take care of her. She can not just assume that I would be the same Andy after having my own family to look out for. You don’t worry about anything.”
“Okay.” Kissing him under the stars was your favorite pass time and you wouldn’t change it for the world. “Let’s go check up on our baby right now.”
“No, you go to your sister because your dad is going to be out of surgery in sometime and you should be with her. I will check on Gabriel and then come to you.”
“Let’s check on Gabe together because I won’t stop worrying until then. God, I just want this day to end already.” Hand in hand, you got up from the bench and went to meet your son.
Gabriel was slightly waking up by the time you entered his room and you immediately went to pick him up. Keeping in mind to not touch his iv drip, you cradled him to your chest. Your heart ached for your baby boy because he was always the one to cause trouble and never sit still in one place. “Mommy, hurts.” A whimper escaped him and he clutched on to your shirt with his tiny fists.
“It’s going to be okay.” He looked so small in your arms and you were barely holding yourself together because you didn’t want your son to cry after seeing you.
“Give him to me.” Andy carefully took him from you and tried rocking him back to sleep. By now, he was full on crying and trying to take his bandage off. Your husband took Gabriel’s hand in his hold but the kid did not quiet down for one second. You tried to give him his lion pacifier and he just turned his head the other way round. The doctor came in when he heard the commotion and quickly inserted some sedatives in to his IV drips.
He told you both that Gabriel would be alright in a few days and he will stay with him so that you both can go check up on your father. Gabriel was going to sleep for some hours so it was okay for you guys to stay with your dad until then.
“The doctor said that the surgery went well and we can see him after they transfer him to ICU.” Your sister filled you in as soon as she saw you both walking down the corridor. Ecstatic, you hugged Andy tightly and believed for the first time in all night that everything is going to be okay.
“I love you.” You whispered affectionately in to his ears.
“I love you too.” Kissing you softly, he tried to express his love with his actions.
Hope you guys enjoyed it!!

Wrong Number, Asshole - A Bakugou Katsuki Soulmate AU
All Parts
Part 21:
You were nervous, practically fainting under the pressure as you pulled open the hospital’s front door. The trip to Jaku was fairly easy, only a brief 45 minutes, and in that time you hadn’t managed to calm yourself at all.
You stomach was rolling with nerves- twisting and turning and making you feel so very sick. You tried to reason with yourself, tried to convince yourself to lower your expectations. There was nothing for you to be worried about, here! You hadn’t lied! Or hid anything, or pretended like you were a good person when you maybe weren’t.
Bakugou did that. He did that and he was the reason your eyes were still puffy and why your head still ached. He had things to apologize for- not you.
So why did it feel like all you wanted to do was throw your arms around him and forget everything and just be happy?
The longer you sat with it, the more you thought you understood. Even if he was bad, even if he did bad things, he was still your soulmate. He was still the other half of you and you were selfish- so, so selfish and you couldn’t make yourself give that up. Couldn’t ever possibly make a strong enough argument for abandoning him. You knew that, even if you didn’t want to admit it. It was why you were even at the hospital after all.
You shook your head, trying to focus on the matter at hand.
“Hi,” You greeted, hoping your smile seemed genuine to the receptionist. “Bakugou Katsuki, please, room 427.”
She just looked at you funny, tapping at the device in her ear. “Yeah, I got another girl down here asking for Dynamite? Where’s security?”
You heart began seizing, lungs stuttering with panic as she continued to stare you down. After a long fifteen seconds she spoke again.
“Well, isn’t it your lucky day. Apparently, he wants to see you. What a surprise.” She announced un-enthusiastically, handing you a slip of paper. “Take the stairs to the left, all the way up to level 4, and then follow the instructions on the paper.”
You just nodded in a daze, holding the paper in your shaking fingers and moving towards the stairs. Suddenly, you were even more nervous than before. You pushed open the stair doors, and realized this moment felt bigger than you. Bigger than anything in your entire life. Every singular event and decision had brought you here and the only thing you could do was stare dumbly at the stairs in front of you.
No. You knocked a closed fist gently against your forehead. I’m fine. I’m been waiting forever for this shit. It’s just stupid Bakugou.
You took one step, pulling your shaky legs along with two hands on the guardrail. Another step, only pull. Another step another pull. You were conquering the stairs, and this moment, gaining momentum before you knew it. With feet moving unbidden and sure and careful and climbing, you rise, steps taking you higher and higher until you hit the 4th floor. It’s a maze of hallways from there, a strange puzzle of paintings that all look the same and tiles that are two shades too dark and doctors and people rushing past and shoving, but your feet are steady, one after the other, fast, fast, faster, and you don’t falter. You don’t falter and you walk down another hallway, look at your paper, take a left, walk a little further, look at your paper, take a right, walk further and faster and further and farther, past room 423, past room 424, past room 425, past room 426, turn another corner, rush past a man wheezing in a wheelchair, skid to a stop- room 427.
You heart hammers in your chest- beating against your ribcage and threatening to burst through your too-thin skin. Your breath shudders, fingers shaking as you push the door- push it open, and wider, and widest, and open.
His face is the very first thing you see. It’s all you can see. All the machines and the hospital bed, all the bandages and the IV’s stuck into his skin- they all fade away. There’s just him and his blonde hair and the way his shoulder’s slope and the defined musculature of his arms. He is real and breathing and solid, and so, so, beautiful. Bakugou’s every breath seems to arrest you, keep you in place and strung tight like a live-wire, electricity running trails of fire through every vein- and his eyes.
His eyes that are darker, deeper, duller- less like raging volcanoes, and more like delicate rubies. They’re red. Red like nothing you’ve ever seen before, and startling and surprising, but it’s not an angry red. Not a violent red. You decide then that Bakugou is a soft, dignified red- he’s hot wax cooling over a sealed envelope, like a slowly healing cut just beginning to fade.
Something in you slots into place. You feel it in your mind, in your bones, in your chest. You’re not itchy anymore, you’re not searching. There is no puzzle left to solve and your finally have all the pieces to your soul; no longer aching anymore for something you knew you should’ve always had. Your skin is finally yours- no longer loose and ill-fitting and stretched thin saving room for someone you hadn’t met yet. You felt right- finally. Settled for the first time in your entire life, like somehow, you’d always knew you’d end up standing exactly where you were.
You think Bakguou must feel it too. He nods something almost imperceptible, but his face softens. He looks so sure- so confident as he looks at you. Like he always expected you to be exactly who you were. Like some part of him too always somehow knew this was going to happen.
You’re tearing up before you can help it, rushing into the room and to his bedside.
“What are ya fuckin’ cryin’ for, idiot?” Bakugou huffs, but his voice comes out strained; buried under thick, barely-restrained emotion. “Nothin’ new left to cry about now, stop it.”
“I can’t,” You’re wiping at tears with your sleeve. “After all this time- my whole life- It’s just- you’re- you’re you. ”
“Course I fuckin’ am.” He says. Bakugou then clears his throat, voice becoming much softer. “Always was to you.”
“I-I know. But it’s just- you’re real.”
He can’t say it back, you can see it in his pinched face and blushing cheeks, but Bakugou nods. You know he feels the same.
“It’s- I- I just didn’t think I’d ever be here,” You start, sinking easily into the chair next to his bed. “And after everything I jus-”
“I’m sorry!” His voice interrupts the relative quiet, cutting through like a knife. He nearly screamed his words, and when you look over at him Bakugou won’t meet your eyes. He’s studying the hospital blankets beneath his fingers, folding and clenching them between fingers gone white from the pressure. “I- I mean that. More than fuckin’ anything.”
“I know.” You say.
The room goes quiet again, and any of the calming completeness you had felt earlier seemed to be fading. Suddenly it’s not just the feeling of finding your soulmate running through you, but the feeling of finding Bakugou. Bakugou who is sitting in front of you, injured and weaker than Dynamite and he doesn’t look like someone who could hurt anything or anyone but then you remember that video- that scream, those eyes.
“Just- fuckin’ say it already. I can see your face, idiot.” Bakugou’s voice is authoritative but not pushy. Inquisitive but not demanding. “It’s- I know your holding back, so just fuckin’ quit it already, alright?.”
“It’s- I just need to know. You said, on the phone, that it wasn’t you, in the video.” You close your eyes. If you look at him any longer you think you’ll lose your nerve. “If it wasn’t you, who was it?”
“I-” You watch as his face falls, eyebrows pulling together. Then he’s turning red, wringing his fingers together and casting his eyes toward your shoes instead of your face. “Can ya- can I- I just have to think. Give me a second. I have to make sure I get the fuckin’ words right.”
You nod. Bakugou seems to leave you for a moment, eyes un-focusing and fingers twitching minutely. He suddenly looks up, meeting your eyes.
“It’s- I shouldn’ta said that shit. It was- I did that. Me.” He admits, words tight and strained like they’re hard for him to speak. He’s got a hand pressed to his mouth, head turned sharply to face the window. He refuses to meet your eyes once more. “But- I’m not- I’m tryin’ not to fuckin’ be like that anymore! I’m workin’ on it or whatever. Since then! E-ever since then.”
“Okay.” You nod. “What happened to the person? In the video?”
Your question seems to upset him, and he throws his hand harshly against the bed. Bakugou breathes- eyebrows pinched together tightly until his shoulders aren’t held together so tensely anymore.
“I told you. I didn’t- everybody always talks about that fuckin’ stupid-ass video but it was only the camera!” He grits his teeth suddenly, sharply inhaling and exhaling until his jaw relaxes once more. His eyes still remain screwed shut. “I meant that. What I said on the phone. The fuckin’ person was fine! Wasn’t fuckin’ hurt. J-just scared.”
You want to believe him. More than anything you want to believe him, but those eyes you saw were hard to forget. They almost seemed like they belonged to someone else- like they couldn’t possibly have belonged to the same guy who’d called you sunshine and helped you with your anxiety and cleared his schedule every night at exactly 7:00 PM. The Bakugou you had come to know was so far removed from the man in the video- the scary, feral, thoughtless man who seemed to attack someone without just cause.
You closed your eyes for a moment, bringing your hands together in your lap. He said he was trying- he made it very clear that was true with his careful breathing and the way he asked for time to think about his words first. The Bakugou sitting in front of you was not the same man in the video. His eyes weren’t violent erupting volcanoes anymore- they were slowly crystallizing gemstones. Precious, valuable things still slowly changing into something new.
“Okay.” You nod. “I believe you.”
Bakugou cracks open his eyes slowly, looking intensely at you. Something anxious in his eyes melts away, relief filling his features and settling in the barely-there curve of his smile. His shoulders relax and he takes a deep breath and a crackle, a pop and-
“Did you? Was that-” You point at his palms. “Was that your quirk?”
“No! Fuck no, why would you even fuckin’ say that- obviously not, because my quirk is fuckin’ cool not some shitty, embarrassing, tiny-”
“Bakugou.” You interrupt sternly, staring him down. “Honesty, remember?”
He groans, and flushes. His hand crackles again, something small and dancing just across his palm and Bakugou races to cover it. He then wipes his hands on his hospital gown harshly, turning his entire body toward the window to cover the way he’s still blushing. It doesn’t work though. You see him all the same.
“Yes.” He admits, and he just sounds so defeated, it makes you crack a smile. “But don’t fuckin’ say anything, okay? It’s all your fuckin’ fault, damn woman! Started the first time you called me and I can’t get it to fuckin’ stop no matter what I do it’s-”
“Can I see your hand?”
“H-huh?”
“Your hand,” You reach toward him gently. “I wanna see. Give it.”
Bakugou doesn’t look at you, just raises his arm and jabs it out toward you. The movement is stunted and awkward, like he can’t control his limbs right, and when you look at him his entire neck has started going red too. He waves his extended hand impatiently, urging you to get on with it.
Slowly, so very slowly, you poke a single finger into the smooth skin of his wrist. Just a feather-light touch. A near-weightless pressure against soft skin.
Pop.
You poke him again.
Pop.
Suddenly embarrassed, you pull both your hands to cover your eyes and blushing cheeks, and begin giggling uncontrollably.
Pop. Pop. Crackle.
Bakugou moves so brashly that it startles you, and he’s pulling his hand back to him, and curling it into his chest. He’s using his other hand to press into the crackling one, finally smothering the sound of a last few pops sounding off. When you finally peek between your fingers, he’s somehow redder than before.
He’s adorable and you’re laughing and you can’t stop laughing because he’s shy and embarrassed and so defenseless against you. Every part of you is warm from the top of your head to the burning tips of your toes, your smile spreading so wide that it over takes your entire face.
“It’s-it’s not fuckin’ funny!” Bakugou shouts. “Stop goddamn laughing, you shitty fuckin’ woman! It’s a good quirk! It’s not fuckin’ funny!”
“It is.” You agree, gasping to catch your breath. “It’s a very good quirk Bakug-.”
“K-Katsuki!” He shouts suddenly, interrupting you entirely. He seems surprised at his own outburst, blushing again and smacking his hand against his forehead. He groans. Loudly. “It’s- I- Katsuki. That’s my name.”
“O-oh. Okay.” You say shakily, heart beginning to race once more. “K-Katsuki, huh?”
Pop. Pop. Pop.
Bakugou screams. Just howls something deep and defeated and animalistic from the bottom of his chest. It fills the room, seemingly taking up all the space, and you could’ve sworn the windows were rattling. You start laughing.
“Fuck! Oh my god! You fucking did this to me, shitty woman! You- you’re- stop fucking laughing!” Bakugou is screaming, arms gesturing wildly. “This isn’t fucking funny! Something is seriously fucking wrong with me! A-and and you don’t even fucking care! You just think it’s funny! I’m fuckin’ broken, fuckin’ suffering, and you’re laughing!”
“It’s- I’m not!” You shakily defend, barely able to complete the words.
“See now you’re just fuckin’ lyin to me! Goddamn fuckin’ liar for a soulmate!” He’s yelling, hot air and fire and irritation seeping from his lips. “You know, it’s just my fuckin’ luck too, you know! To end up with such a fuckin’ idiot for a soulmate! Who just fuckin’ keeps laughin’ and lookin’ cute an-”
Bakugou screeches. He throws his hands down on the bed, palm up, full-on miniature explosions beginning to spout from his fingertips.
“What the fuck did you do to me? What the fuck- I-I didn’t say that! You didn’t hear anything! Would you quit fuckin’ laughing at me?”
You just hold your palm up, tears gathering at the corner of your eyes. Bakugou stares at it, burning holes so intensely and brazenly, so utterly focused and enraged that it sends you into further hysterics. It takes you a good five minutes to sober up.
“It’s- I’m not. I’m not laughing at you.” You lean forward in your seat, just a little bit closer to the guardrail of the hospital bed. “You just- you make me happy ‘sall.”
Bakugou gags. Audibly. The sound rips from his chest and up his throat and contorts his face.
“Don’t just fuckin’ say that!”
“What the hell?” You ask incredulously, hands flying wildly. “You literally told me you like me over the phone! Literally yesterday! But now you’ve got a whole ass problem with me saying that you make me happy? What the fuck, angry man?!”
“It’s- I didn’t- fuck!” He shouts, voice raising to cover yours. “Stop makin’ me remember all this embarrassing shit! You’re doing this on fuckin’ purpose! I know you are, shitty woman!”
“I wouldn’t make you remember it so much it you just fuckin’ owned up to it in the first place, you coward!” You screeched. “If you already said it, and I said I like you, then what’s the big fuckin’ deal, huh?”
Bakugou suddenly goes quiet, his hands fidgeting with the sheets. He chuckles. “You said you like me. Again. Fuckin’ dork.”
“Oh my god! You’re fucking infuriating! No-no don’t just sit there and fucking grin at me! That’s- stop!”
And truly, you meant it. You wanted him to stop looking at you like that, stop crinkling up his eyes, and most of all stop smiling because you didn’t think your heart could handle it. Everything about him made your blood boil, and every nerve stand straight on end- but it was good too. So warm and comforting and just funny.
He was Bakugou and Dynamite and your Soulmate. All in one, awkward, crackling, loud fucking package.

draco had taken an interest in you ever since you had laughed at a joke he mumbled during class, with no intention of being heard. he turned to the owner of the laugh, to see you sitting next to your friend with your hand over your mouth, trying to conceal your giggles. that’s when he decided that your laugh was now his favorite sound in the world and that he wanted to hear it more.
he hadn’t made his crush on you known, besides to blaise. he rarely even talked with you before, but he wanted to change that this year. he started off by greeting you whenever you two passed each other in the halls, to initiating small conversations with you during your shared classes, and now he was joining you in the library to read after he ‘coincidentally’ shared the same reading spot as you.
pansy and blaise entered the library together, in search of a book they needed in order to start on their astronomy project. they both walked to the aisle where the book would be found, pansy’s fingers gliding over the spines of the books as she searched for the one in particular. “do me a favor and help me find it?” she spat out to blaise, irritated that he stood there staring off at something she could care less about.
“is that draco with y/n?” blaise asked instead, noticing the familiar blonde boy sitting at a table across from you. this immediately caught pansy’s attention as she averted her focus from the bookshelf in front of her to the table you two sat at. “no way!”
“they are so into each other,” pansy silently squealed as she watched you burst out into giggles due to some awful joke draco had made, you seemed to have a thing for his jokes. “draco’s liked her for months now.” a grin appeared on blaise’s face, trying to hold in his laughter at draco’s lame attempt at flirting with you.
“and he hasn’t made a move on her yet?” pansy questioned. blaise shook his head side to side to answer her question when an idea suddenly entered her brain. “blaise we have to do something!”
“like what?” blaise was confused, unsure of what pansy meant. “forget the project, we have to set them up! mission y/n and draco!” pansy exclaimed. she excitedly grabbed blaise’s hand and dragged him to a table far from yours to create a plan, while blaise internally groaned, knowing how passionate she could become when it came to stuff like this.
being a prefect always was an advantage. and luckily for pansy and blaise who were both prefects, this made it easy for them to execute their plan.

one foggy night, you threw a jumper and sweats over your body, preparing for your late night stroll around the castle. you liked to do this whenever you couldn’t fall asleep, finding that a walk seemed to be relaxing and calm the thoughts running through your head.
you exited your dormitory quietly, being careful enough to not wake your sleeping dormmates. you walked down the stairs and into the common room, feeling chills run up and down your body as you felt the temperature drop. you made it across, about to exit the room when you walked straight into something — no, someone.
“sneaking out again, y/n?” there stood pansy ahead of you. she kept a straight face, slightly raising her eyebrow in attempt to intimidate you.
“weren’t you just asleep?” you looked back and pointed towards the steps to the dormitories, confused as to where she came from. she was asleep in the dorm, right?
“I’m sorry but I’m going to have to give you a detention,” she stated as you gave her a questioning look. “you’re not serious, are you? you know I’ve snuck out a million times already and never gave me one before,” you tried to reason with her.
“and that’s exactly why I should be giving you one, you’ve snuck out one too many times y/n. meet me for detention in snape’s classroom. saturday, 5PM, and don’t be late.” she left so quickly and was already gone before you could question her sudden change in opinion.
meanwhile, draco sat in the common room one afternoon, looking back and forth between papers as he copied goyle’s homework. with one question left, he was almost done and turned to glance at goyle’s paper one last time when it was suddenly snatched away from underneath him.
“what the hell?!” draco looked up to see blaise holding onto the piece of parchment he desperately needed in order to complete his assignment.
“really, draco? cheating? I’m absolutely flabbergasted and disappointed in you!” blaise overexaggerated and flailed his arms around, causing draco to furrow his brows in confusion. “I’m giving you a detention for going against your academic honesty!” blaise sighed and crossed his arms, dramatically shaking his head at his friend.
“what are you on mate? did you not just copy off of his homework before me?” draco was irritated as blaise prevented him from finishing his homework. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. now, meet me in snape’s classroom at 5PM on saturday for your detention.” and with that, blaise left, not giving draco a chance to hex him.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
it was now saturday, a few minutes before the clock struck 5PM. you were making your way to snape’s classroom, pissed that you had to spend your free time in detention.
arriving at your destination, you opened the door and entered the classroom, curious as to what pansy had planned for your detention. the first thing you noticed was an empty classroom, before turning to the back corner and spotting your favorite blonde. “draco? what are you doing here?”
“blaise gave me a bloody detention for ‘going against my academic honesty,’ whatever that means. you?” he raised an eyebrow as he waited for your reply. “pansy caught me trying to sneak out.”
he slowly nodded as you took a seat beside him, “don’t you find it odd that blaise and pansy never give slytherins detentions, especially not their own friends. and the one time they do, it happens to be on the exact same day at the exact same time?” he questioned as you thought it over.
“you’re right, that is a bit odd.”
after waiting a few more minutes for blaise and pansy to arrive, draco went to grab his bag off the floor as he stood up. “I have better things to do and seeing that they’re late, I’m going to go do those other things. care to join?”
“lead the way, malfoy.” you grinned at him, gesturing your arm towards the door. he made his way over to the door, you following right behind him. you waited for him to open it, yet that never happened.
“the door won’t open,” he concluded after a few moments of him rattling the doorknob.
“what do you mean the door won’t open?”
“it means, the door won’t open.” you lightly shoved him out of the way, pulling out your wand and muttering alohomora. you became frustrated when you went to open the door and the lock still wouldn’t budge.
after multiple attempts to open the door, both of you realized it was no use. you guys were locked in.
you found yourself sitting on the floor besides draco, talking with one another for hours on end as you wore his jumper. he had politely offered it to you when he noticed you shivering due to the cold dungeon air, in which you denied it at first, but he kept on insisting.
you started drifting off, his words started twisting into gibberish and his voice became muffled. draco felt his heart warm when your head fell onto his shoulder. “oh c’mon y/n, don’t fall asleep on me.”
“I’m sorry, it’s just your jumper is so comfy and warm,” you lightly spoke as you snuggled closer into his body. draco thought his heart was about to burst.
suddenly, the door opened and entering the room was snape, who only stared at the two of you when he noticed his two students just casually sitting on his classroom floor. the sudden noise made you bolt awake.
“out.” his voice was curt and blunt, causing you and draco to rush to your feet. you hurriedly exited the room as draco mumbled a “sorry professor.”
you and draco ran down the hall, hardly able to contain your laughter when you entered the common room.
sitting on the couches before you and draco were pansy and blaise, who wore amused looks upon draco’s and your appearance.
“nice jumper, y/n.” blaise wiggled his eyebrows at the two of you when you and draco finally realized what was going on. “they did this on purpose, didn’t they?” draco spoke up beside you.
“I’m gonna get those little gits.” you ran straight for pansy as she yelped and ran towards the dorms, you following straight behind her.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
the following day at breakfast, pansy was fangirling over the sight of you two walking down the hall hand in hand. “mission accomplished, blaise! you were actually a good partner, we should do it again sometime. ooo how about daphne and theo?”
truth be told, you were glad blaise and pansy had done that as it allowed you and draco to realize your feelings for one another.
what you did not like, was the fact that pansy and blaise had the audacity to take credit for your relationship with draco. and while it may be true, you would never admit it to them out loud.
