A full moon and stars like diamonds hang low in the night sky over Baldur’s Gate.  The city has been good to Ivallen, and better to his beloved.  Their need for blood is more of a craving to be satisfied decadently now, the two of them turning hunting into a game.  He has, anyway.  He hunts down beautiful, tender-necked people befitting Astarion’s tastes, luring them in with playful flirtations and promises that he’ll take care of them.  He’s started to crave the hunt more than the blood itself.  He’s started to crave finding men who look like him more than anything–a drow able to be convinced to go to a secondary location is a rare thing, and it feels like a great accomplishment when he manages it.  More than that, it’s wonderful seeing his beloved dispatch them in front of him, fangs buried artfully in their throats, a predatory glint in his eyes, a calm and practiced smirk on his lips as they bleed into and sustain him.

Ty!!!! This is for my BG3 character Ivallen because he's been giving me the most rancid brainrot. Also the game has been out long enough so I'm not tagging this spoilers or anything, but I'm putting this under a read more because it goes into end game stuff as of like 4 patches ago (no clue how different the ending is now, and it doesn't really change my head canon for this anyway ig)

So this feels like a silly song choice (in my opinion) but dang! It fits him. He leaves Menzoberranzan prior to the events of the game to escape being turned into a drider, and he's hiding in Baldur's Gate, trying to blend in with the crowds, when he gets abducted by the nautiloid. He actually sees one of the other drow from his house sent to catch him and drag him back home on the nautiloid, dazed and basically defenseless, and he kills them to take care of that issue. But late game when Astarion ascends and he becomes a vampire spawn he's basically decided that he's made it, that he's relatively safe now, and he can get back to plotting how to kill his mother and sisters. 😌 If Astarion gives him permission to do that. 😌

What is the most prominent color in your Tav’s color scheme?

woowwooowowow ok ok so this is something I had to think about a lot, because I feel like I've never settled on a solid, specific colour palette for Ivallen (apart from the basic blue-grays and silvery whites of drow skin and hair). So I kind of went and made a little mood board with the vibes I most associate with him colour-wise, and I think I'd say like the first most prominent colour is like a royal navy blue, and pink is the next most prominent colour probably!

Playing a character who starts out kind of neutral in most ways, who becomes evil as he gets fed up with his shitty situation and because he hungers for power just to marginally improve his situation, is so fun and I love it. And the thing is too, Ivallen is evil only for the most part. He still frees pixies and slaves when he's able to, he still protects people when it benefits him. Like he's evil, but compared to how he would have been if he stayed in Menzoberranzan he's not too bad in his mind.

The bastard in question, btw, I love him. this is an OLD screenshot, so I kind of want to remake him, I think there's some things I'd tweak about his appearance now, but also I kind of want to wait for the full release of the game because I've replayed early access s o many times now

I made a new character for each BG3 patch and the one I keep going back to spin around in my mind is my male drow fighter Ivallen, which I would LOVE to play in the full game, but I'm also a little bummed because I feel like Vhaeraun isn't going to be a deity option, which is the only deity that would work for the concept I had in mind for him. He's from Menzoberranzan, but he wouldn't worship Llolth, he left the Underdark specifically to get away from Llolth and her worshipers, but he isn't good either and is still a pretty "drow-y" drow (I played him more neutral than anything iirc, it's been a while). This is really such a minor gripe, and it's so dumb for me to lose enjoyment over it but it makes the feral little beast in me go aaaa

He's not even a cleric or paladin or anything so it doesn't REALLY matter, but backstory-wise it's important to me.
