you couldn't resist the urge to tap the heel of your boot against the linoleum floor - rolling your golden wedding band so you wouldn't bite your freshly manicured nails. it felt like your heart was going to thump thump thump out of your chest and land on the floor in front of you.
there were only three other people in the waiting room, a few posters related to women's health decorating the otherwise plain, dull, light green walls of the office, the tick-tock of the clock and the hushed whispers of the two nurses behind the front desk being the only thing you could focus on, along with the overpowering stench of chanel no 5 that was wafting from the other customer waiting for her appointment browsing through an age-old copy of cosmopolitan.
you nearly hopped to your feet when the door to one of the offices opened, clutching your purse like it was the only thing keeping you afloat. "come in." doctor cameron said with a small smile on his lips, gesturing towards his office.
you followed the tall man into the sterile, white office, holding your arms tightly against your chest, your shoulders hunched. when doctor cameron noticed how skittish you were being, he offered a small smile, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder before using it to cup your cheek and lifting it up so you were forced to look at his freckled face, "there's no need to be nervous. this is a pretty regular procedure. you can change into the gown and lay down on the examination table."
when you let out a reluctant nod, the doctor walked further into his office, giving you some privacy. while you listened to him rifle through papers, slowly, you tugged your sweater off along with your jeans, leaving your underwear to cover your skin that was now in goosebumps while you covered yourself with the blue rustling hospital gown, until it came time to slip them off.
you took a few tentative steps towards the examination table, walking on your heels as your gynecologist turned to face you, your chart in his hands, his blue eyes skimming over the details as you sat down onto the examination table, the paper sheet rustling against the paper gown in a way that made you cringe.
"so, how many days ago did you take your last dose of clomid?"
"eight days ago." you said with a tight smile, fiddling with the hem of your gown, "and i did an ovulation test before i left home, and it said my ovulation should be at its highest."
"you've really done your homework." he chuckled, placing down the clipboard, placing his warm hand on your bare knee in a comforting gesture. "are you ready to get started? i've got your husband's specimen prepared. don't worry, the catheter won't hurt, you might just feel a bit uncomfortable for a moment."
you took a deep breath, closing your eyes and laying back as you steadied your breathing, trying your best to get comfortable. "ready." you whispered softly, opening your eyes to look up at the slightly yellow-tinted fluorescent light above you.
Tumblr media
"it helps the sperm to travel if you've got your pelvis propped up." doctor cameron said in a slightly hushed tone, lifting your hips up and placing a pillow underneath your hips, his hands pressing your hips down to meet it, keeping them there as he looked down at you with a small smile. "there you go. are you comfortable?"
"it does." you swallow dryly, fiddling with the paper sheet underneath you, sighing. "i hope it works out. we've been trying to get pregnant for a year now."
"yeah?" he looked down at you, his eyes crinkling slightly, the feel of the pads of his fingers brushing against your bare skin as he drew small patterns to the hem of your hospital gown. "you know what people say helps with getting pregnant?"
"what?" you almost whispered, your thighs starting to form goosebumps under doctor cameron's fingers as they slowly slid under the crinkly god-ugly gown.
"orgasms." his hand continued to slide up your inner thigh, the metal of your doctor's wedding ring a pleasing contrast against your warm skin, "it's never been proven to be accurate, of course." his hand was just under your crotch, drawing infinity-symbols on your skin, a pondering look on his face as he cocked his head to the side, a small smirk appearing on his face, "but it never hurts to be thorough, right?"
Tumblr media
doctor cameron had you folded over on the examination table, holding your legs at your sides, his warm lips placing sloppy, hot kisses on your neck as his cock slid out of you before slamming against your cervix, the man letting out a soft breathy laugh at every little gasp or moan that managed to escape your lips.
"how many times do i have to tell you, sweetie?" he mumbled against your skin, rafe's words intensified by the pace of his hips snapping against yours increasing, a loud yelp leaving you, "you don't need to try and keep quiet. no one's gonna hear us." he breathed out.
the pad of his thumb found your your clit, starting to draw small circles on it as the room was filled with your unsteady breathing combined with the lewd squelch of your pussy every time his hips met yours, "come on, let me hear all those pretty little noises... it's not like this is the first time we've fooled around here."
rafe tried pulling away from your neck, but you tugged him closer by his hair, holding him there as tightly as possible "god, rafe..." you moaned out, the doctor letting out a pleased hum against your skin.
"come on, sweetie... tell me how much you want me to put a baby in you, yeah?"
"so badly..." your back arched off the examination table while rafe's long fingers slid up to your breast, teasing it with small kneads and pinches before his left hand found your hand, your fingers intertwining with his, your matching wedding bands meeting.
"i love you so much... i can't wait for you to be all pretty and pregnant." he smiled against your skin, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

MEANWHILE….
"i wonder what's taking dr. cameron so long..." the receptionist wondered aloud with a frown on her pouty lips, turning to look at the clock on the wall as she tapped her pink fingernails against the desk, "i mean, it's almost lunchtime."
the other receptionist let out a snort, interrupting the movement of the file against her long nail, turning to look at the other girl with raised brows, chewing gum. "what, you don't know?"
"know what?"
"oh, this is good." the receptionist laughed, throwing her head back with laughter in her office chair. "you don't know who she is."
"what?" the other girl asked, huffing in annoyance as she grabbed a cheeto out of the bag sitting in front of them.
"that client is mrs. cameron."
"as in-"
"yup, that was doctor cameron's wife." she let out a loud snort of a laugh as she shook her head, grabbing a cheeto before going back to filing her nails. "guess she gets special treatment."

Donor | Part 1.5 | Not Dad Enough
Part 1 | Part 1.5 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Oh, no. I made a drabble... I think. LOL
Pairings: Bestie Henry Cavill x OFC
This was supposed to be just a short drabble for my fic Donor. But I guess this is too long, lol so this happened between chapters 1 and 2 and shows Henry and reader going through the first round of IUI.
I’m AO3, too as MoonDjarin ^_^
Part 1 | Part 1.5 | Part 2 | Part 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the week of your first IUI procedure, Henry had flown back over the weekend before, having taken a break from filming his latest project for the year. The process leading up to the insemination wasn't too time-consuming; they just needed his sample, and the whole procedure could be completed within a few hours. So, you were quite surprised when he mentioned that he had taken off for the next two weeks.
"Why? Do you have plans with your family?" you asked, racking your brain to recall any upcoming birthdays or events.
He shook his head, his expression earnest. "No, not at all. I just... I want to make sure you're alright," he replied, his eyes holding a mixture of concern and determination.
You let out a small, surprised chuckle. "You really don't have to do that, you know. Besides, what could possibly go wrong after the procedure?" you teased, though a warmth spread through you at his thoughtfulness.
He chuckled softly in response. "Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I just want to be here, at least until you have to take the first test."
His words touched your heart, and you couldn't help but smile at his earnestness. It was in these small moments that you realized just how you lucked out on having Henry as your best friend and your future child's father.  ---
As the procedure was completed, you found yourself lying on the examination table, legs up in the air as instructed, for the next 15 minutes. Henry stood by your side, holding your hand gently, his thumb tracing soothing circles on the back of your hand.
"Feeling okay?" he asked softly, concern etching his features as he looked down at you.
You gave him a reassuring smile, your fingers tightening around his. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just a little nervous, I guess."
Henry's grip on your hand tightened slightly, and he leaned in closer. "You don't have to be nervous. You got this," he said, his voice full of encouragement.
You nodded, grateful for his presence. "I know, it's just... What if it doesn't work? What if this whole process ends up being for nothing? I feel like I have wasted your time and...sperm." You grimaced at the last part and Henry laughed.
He sighed softly, his gaze never leaving yours. "Hey, there will always be another time for a next round. We can keep trying until it works, alright? But for now, let's just focus on this moment."
Your heart swelled at his words. Despite his playful demeanor, Henry's sincerity always managed to shine through, comforting you when you needed it the most. You gave him a small smile. "You're right. Thanks for being here with me, Hank... and you know, for allowing me to drag you into this."
His answering smile was soft and reassuring. "Always, Y/N."
---
After the procedure, you both returned home.
Henry suggested watching a movie to help you relax, and you settled on "Night Hunter." Despite Henry's eye roll at your choice, he acquiesced, knowing that you were set on it and not in the mood for any debates.
The film had its share of tense moments, interspersed with lighter ones that brought occasional snickers from you.
One particular scene caught your attention—Walter Marshall, the character played by Henry, was sitting on the kitchen floor with his on-screen daughter, attempting to have a heartfelt moment.
You couldn't help but chuckle dryly, cringing at the dialogue and the lack of genuine paternal energy emanating from Henry's portrayal.
"Wow," you commented, your voice laced with amusement, your gaze locked on the screen.
Henry glanced at you, his brows furrowing. "What's so amusing?"
"Come on," you chuckled, nudging him playfully. "If you're trying to show off your potential co-parenting skills, this movie isn't exactly boosting your case."
"Hey!" He gave you a playful mock-glare. "You're making fun of my acting skills. How dare you?"
"Just a little," you admitted, giving him another playful nudge.
“So mean,” he muttered, his hand moving theatrically to his chest, as if nursing a wounded heart. Sooo dramatic. You laughed.
Your gaze remained fixed on the screen. "I mean, it's just that I'm not quite getting the 'dad vibes' from you in this scene."
Henry laughed, a genuine sound that filled the room. "Fair enough. Guess I have some work to do if I want to impress as a movie dad."
You grinned, nodding in agreement. "Definitely a bit of room for improvement."
He leaned back on the couch, arm casually draped across the backrest, his eyes still on the movie. "Well, I'll consider this valuable feedback."
"I'm glad I could contribute to your acting growth," you quipped, a playful twinkle in your eye.
"Always striving for improvement," Henry replied, a hint of laughter lingering in his voice. "But in my defense, being a movie dad is a whole different ball game."
You raised an eyebrow, your tone teasing. "Oh, I see. So, you're saying real-life co-parenting would be a breeze for you?"
Henry's lips curled into a playful smile. "Well, I'd like to think I'd have a better grasp of it, but I guess there's only one way to find out."
The two of you exchanged amused glances, the easy banter between you a testament to the comfort of your friendship. As the movie continued to play, you leaned back against the couch, feeling the warmth of Henry's presence beside you.
"I guess we'll have to wait and see," you mused softly, your voice holding a touch of anticipation.
"Indeed," he agreed, his gaze briefly meeting yours before returning to the screen. And as the movie scenes unfolded, you felt yourself growing more at ease, the laughter and companionship settling any lingering nerves from the day's events.
Eventually, the familiarity of your shared space and the comfort of Henry's company began to take its toll, and you found yourself succumbing to drowsiness. Your head rested against his shoulder, a contented sigh escaping you as you closed your eyes.
He glanced down at you, a soft smile forming as he watched your peaceful expression in sleep. His heart swelled with a mix of fondness and a growing sense of longing. He carefully adjusted his position, allowing you to rest comfortably against him, his arm holding you close. As the movie continued to play in the background, he couldn't help but contemplate the possibility of a deeper connection with you, one that extended beyond the realm of co-parenting.

I hate that station 19 made carina dumber. I'm honestly not suprised her eggs weren't viable thing is WHY didnt she get tested when they first decided to have a baby?
For all we know she may never have had viable eggs and they wasted all that time and money for nothing...doing iui at home has a low chance of working anyway especially when you're on the older side so it's not unrealistic that it didnt work but what is unrealistic is they had someone like maya (type A personality, queen of the clipboard planner) and someone as educated as carina is and have them be so thoughtless and impulsive. It came across like they (the characters and writers) just went with the first idea that popped into their heads without taking any precautions or just using their common sense. Along with having no legal protections and the disaster of 5b in general it's all completely ridiculous how they had marina go about the baby.
I mean carina is an ob/gyn ffs she's not stupid she knows her stuff. I know it's not the same as a fertility doc (despite what the writers said abt it being her area? Its not) however I'm sure she has some knowledge on the subject and has connections through the medical world. I was confused as to what kind of doctor would let carina do at home iui on all those drugs 5 times in a row. Not only does it statistically have a small chance working but also has to health risks. Either she had a terrible doctor or she had no doctor at all and just did what she wanted...
I hate that they made her so baby obsessed yet the whole process was focused on s***m and nothing else when there was so many things they desperately needed to discuss (carina's family history of bipolar, medical tests, legal papers for protection, maya's mental health, their trust issues, etc) idk why it took 3 seasons for carina to use her damn brain?
It's sad carina's eggs weren't viable but like most things with marina it could've very easily been avoided if it had been thought through and discussed properly. Tbh I'd probably be pretty embarrassed if I was Carina...

It’s national infertility awareness week, and I’m still infertile.
It’s been 19 cycles of nothing.
No, not nothing.
Once I was 8 days late before I started bleeding clots.
Once I got three days of very, very faint lines. I told myself not to get excited until the lines got darker. Instead they disappeared, and the blood came. I tried to tell myself I’d just taken seven faulty tests over three days. It hurt less.
(It hurts, still.)
It’s national infertility awareness week, and my best friend has a newborn, and another friend just announced she’s pregnant. It’s a boy.
(What would my lost faint line have been?)
I’m in the middle of my first IVF cycle. Every morning and every evening my husband gives me injections of fertility meds. I’m bloated, fatigued, emotional. I’ve had headaches and nausea. I have bruises from the shots, and every other day we wake at 5:30 to drive to the clinic for bloodwork and an ultrasound. I can’t tell if it’s going well or not. Everything about IVF is shrouded in mystery and uncertainty. I haven’t been my best self, but my husband has come with me to every appointment, has held my hand and watched the fertility videos and kisses the bandaid he puts on me after he administers the shots, morning and evening. He buys me a hash brown after every appointment and dealt with the pharmacy for me. He woke up at 6 am today to wait for fedex to deliver my meds.
(My father left when I was a baby, wouldn’t go with my mom to visit me in the nicu. But my husband has gone above and beyond for eggs that may not even become embryos. Potential future sprout, you will never feel unwanted; you will always know the love of a doting, caring father. Before you even became, he took care of you.)
IVF is not a guarantee. It gives us a chance, but it’s still just that — a chance. A better one than we’d had, but it could still fail. It’s hard to hold onto that reality and the stubborn hope, too. Because it’s stubbornness more than anything that’s gotten me here. I don’t know when to quit. As scary as it is to try, I have to at least try.
So, this is trying. It’s four injections a day and bandaids shaped like cats or dogs. It’s a shared audiobook on the drives to and from the clinic, and hash browns on the way home. It’s tears and fear and clinging to the idea of success, holding each other when it gets to be too much. It’s the cats and dogs staying close and giving cuddles, like somehow they know how much I need it. It’s friends and family checking in and offering support.
(It’s the basket in the closet of an empty bedroom, filled with little things acquired over the past year and a half. Little things for a potential future sprout, socks and onesies and a blanket. In the room we haven’t filled, that we still call the nursery.)
Infertility sucks, but it’s more common than anyone wants to believe. 1 in 6 is the stat going around. National infertility awareness week is all about people sharing their stories, helping others feel less alone. It’s still fucking lonely, but it helps, somehow. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. As much as it hurts when friends get pregnant easily, I’m so glad for them, too. I’d hate to see them go through what I have.
So, for whatever it’s worth, it’s infertility awareness week, and I’m infertile. I have two failed IUIs under my belt, and I’m on my first IVF cycle. Everyone’s journey is different, but they all suck. Not all of them end with a take home baby. If this is your experience, too, I’m sorry.
I don’t know how our journey ends. I might not for a while yet.
(Lost faint line, potential future sprout — you were always, always wanted. We’ll keep trying.)

I’m doing good with SIL stuff I really am I’ve moved out of the anger/grief/envy phase it’s just like WHY did the timing have to be like this? our due dates would’ve been a week or so apart and so that means with every single milestone I have to think, oh, so this is what I would’ve been doing or feeling or looking forward to right now, like almost to the day. it’s fine it’s just kind of mean of the universe, that’s all, and I just feel like every time we meet up and discuss the latest updates I watch her baby become more and more real, an actual part of our family, while mine becomes less and less of something that was ever real or ever mattered, just this weird blip that nobody but me remembers or thinks about anymore. idk it’s just hard. but I know that’s how it’s going to feel and it’s fine, it is what it is, I just have to sit in my car alone and have a long cry about it afterwards.

Some of my self-made Higuchi lore cause I am very gay for this woman and also since this has been stuck in my head for WEEKS.
Mori knew Higuchi's biological mother when he was younger since they went to the same school, and they basically grew up together. They also dated briefly before Higuchi's mother was forced to break up with him and was made to date and marry Higuchi's father.
Higuchi's biological parents didn't want to marry each other, but they had no choice because of their parents. They do kind of get along, though, despite everything.
Higuchi and her sister (Tsuyuko) were both conceived through intrauterine insemination (IUI), which is when sperm is washed in a lab and placed directly into the uterus during ovulation in hopes of natural fertilisation. Higuchi's parents refused to even be in the same bed as each other, so they did this to have Higuchi and her sister after mostly Higuchi's father's parents kept on telling them to have children. Regardless, Higuchi's parents cared for her and Tsuyuko very much.
When Higuchi was around 9, her parents divorced, so she and Tsuyuko stayed with their father since their father's parents were a part of the jury in the court and swayed stuff to make have their mother lose custody of them. And then, around 2 years later, Higuchi's father met her stepmother, who didn't really care for her or Tsuyuko and did the bare minimum for them. The last straw for Higuchi was when her stepmother got pregnant, and when her stepmother went into labour, Higuchi and Tsuyuko were forgotten at school and were forced to walk back home when there was a snowstorm coming soon. Both Higuchi and Tsuyuko ended up getting sick, but it was Higuchi who took care of both of them since her father and stepmother were in the hospital for a few days because of some complications. Higuchi was around 12/13, and Tsuyuko was 10/11 when it happened.
Around a month later, Higuchi told her biological mother about it, who then complained about it to Mori and also asked him if he could make arrangements to take care of both Higuchi sisters since, after the divorce and losing custody of her children, Higuchi's mother started working as a pilot so she couldn't take care of her kids. Which Mori did, so he one day appeared at the Higuchi household and manipulated both Higuchi's father and stepmother to let Higuchi and Tsuyuko stay with him in Yokohama.
After that, both Higuchi sisters were given an apartment to live in, and Mori also assigned the then Funeral Director of the Port Mafia to look after them, which led to Higuchi also learning mortuary stuff from the Funeral Director during her free time until she was 16 when a grease fire/explosion in the funeral home left her as the only survivor.
And then, when Higuchi was 16/17, she straight up asked Mori if she could join the Mafia as one of the morticians. Mori refused at first but eventually agreed after a lot of back and forth on the condition that she could work as a Port Mafia mortician for as long as she wanted unless Higuchi's grade in school started to drop. (This man is way too easily swayed by Higuchi since she is his best friend's daughter.) Being a Port Mafia mortician somehow ended up with Higuchi becoming the (unofficial) Funeral Director, a Commander and Mori's secret left hand in the span of 2/3 years. (Mori is somehow wondering how Higuchi got to that point, and is stressed cause he knows if Higuchi's mom found out, his ass is finna get thrown.)
Higuchi and Tsuyuko have almost no contact with their father and stepmother, but they still talk with their mom when she calls. (Mori gets interrogated by his best friend about her kids on a bi-monthly basis. She also terrorises him about himself because she still sees Mori as the walking emotional disaster from all those years ago.)

Can you a f!Donnie x reader thats infertile like the f!Leo one you did a week or so ago please??
Of course!! Again, this hits home for me as I have endometriosis and most likely can't conceive! So sorry it took me this long to do a request, I'm in college so I haven't had the chance to do so yet!! So, this is an I'm back post!! Also, my commissions are open so please look at my commission sheet when you have the chance! And if you want to commission me, just private message me, please!!
Leo version!
Donatello was also horrified to learn that you couldn't conceive naturally due to your endometriosis, and it wasn't like you could pursue IVF or IUI because of being it a literal apocalypse. And you have to deal with the pain 24/7, all day every day.
Despite not being great with emotions, he just learned that just being there with you, or for you, was a great strategy for comfort, as you couldn't speak, he loved making you things to give to you as gifts, so he's currently trying to make a pain medication that you can take that is so much better than Motrin (that's what I take, and it takes like 2 hours to kick in). He actually made you a heating pad that you still use to this day.
He was also, just like Leo, angry to learn that your past relationships didn't work out since you had this chronic condition that gave you a great deal of pain, he definitely did... not do illegal activities just to get back at them for breaking your heart. Definitely not!
And when you guys got married, you decided to go the adoption route and adopted a few orphans that had lost their parents at the beginning of the Kraang Invasion, since you couldn't go the surrogacy, IUI, and IVF route.
