Thank you for posting this video of Colton Haynes talking about dating girls when he was gay andbin the closet. It’s posted below for anyone interested.

In it, Colton compares being closeted and being seen with girls as being like in Old Hollywood when the studios would set up Hollywood “couples”. He talks about how he couldn’t come out, as he was told in the beginning of his career, and how he had to “date” actresses he worked with and that they knew he was gay.

Here’s what I said in my original post:

“Ps, most gay actors who are in the closet just stay really quiet and private. They aren’t out there with women “bearding” it up. Trust me. This bearding bullshit is way more archaic than they’d have you believe. Sure, it happens every so often. Usually like dates to a red carpet event. But not full on relationships that are proudly paraded in public.”

As anyone can find out by googling, Colton Haynes’ dates or relationships with women were usually dates to an event, being spotted out somewhere together and rumors linking him with girls.

So essentially, it’s exactly what I said. He stayed relatively quiet and private. He didn’t have a giant relationship with one specific girl in which he talked about how in love he was, posted pics of her/them to Instagram, got engaged to her, or married her or had a two year relationship in which he supported her career and she his. He kept his “girlfriends” or “dates” relatively low key and private- rumors more than anything substantive.

He is not out there “bearding” it up like Karlie or Taylor, as big Kaylor blogs purport them to be. He did a few things to distract from his true sexuality, but never took it as far as Kaylor or Camren or Larry or Crisscolfer or Elijah/Dom, Ziam, etc. in all these conspiracy theory ships I listed, the subjects actively engage in and showcase their opposite sex, long term relationships (because they’re real), and some of the subjects even actively deny the conspiracy theory ships. But does that stop the conspiracy theorists? Clearly not. They just make up excuse after excuse to manipulate what the celeb said to fit what they believe.

So, while the Colton Haynes interview is interesting, it actually supports my assertion. Yes, light bearding happens in Hollywood for gay men (less so gay women). The industry recognizes that middle America is not ready for a gay leading man and suggests that gay men keep their homosexuality hidden. They suggest being linked to women.

They do not suggest lavender marriages/relationships so over the top that they literally mimic real marriages/relationships No one is having fake babies and fake marriages and fake long term relationships that are “sold” as hard as Karlie’s, or Louis’.

Like I said, the bearding that Kaylors claim is happening is unrealistic and archaic. Actual real Hollywood bearding is more like what Colton Haynes did: getting linked to actresses and being seen with them and hiding his true sexuality. That absolutely happens. But the people who are doing this keep their sexuality and true relationships very close to the vest and choose privacy over splashy high coverage fake bearding relationships. That’s simply not how it works anymore.
