“Who gets the friend group if we breakup?” Charlie was tracing random patterns onto Nick’s bare chest, his head nestled in the crook of Nick’s shoulder. He felt, more than heard, Nick give a deep chuckle.

“Something you wanna tell me?” Nick playfully nosed at Charlie’s curls.

Charlie tried to shrug, but his position made it difficult so he just kind of shuffled up a bit. “Nah, not yet. I’ll get back to you at a later date.”

“Wouldn’t we just keep the friends we had before we started dating?”

“That works for Tao, Elle, and Issac, but I feel like the others kind of became our friends at the same time.”

“I guess I’d keep Imogen,” Nick said thoughtfully.

“Should we do a draft?”

“A draft? Who’s the sports lad now?”

Charlie pouted. “Maybe you’re rubbing off on me.”

Nick stilled Charlie’s hand on his chest and entwined their fingers. “How about this: we just don’t break up?”

Charlie pretended to consider the suggestion for just a beat too long. Nick squeezed his hand with impatience. “Yeah, I think that’ll work.”
