About your language brainrot. I see your "Reader's writing can't match tyvat's long and flowery writing" and bring you "Tyvat isn't used to books over 50 pages long so a short story to the Reader is a whole dictionary to tyvat readers".

Seriously, have you seen how thin the books are? They don't wrote novels, they write short chapters formatted in the way really old stories are. As in, summarizing all the events down into one smooth story then adding a few quotes. Fanfiction writers are insane. They will willingly sit down and write hundreds of words at a time. To them, a proper modern day story of maybe, oh 10k words or so, would probably be like the Oddessy itself.

If we were to combine the two headcanons. It would end up as many historians being intimidated by this insanely long written scripture in the language of the forgotten.

I'm going to take this a step further and say that if the creator asked some people to proofread their things, it would establish a hiarchy of who is able to actually finish the book the creator read and who isn't.

Second year of university should've been everything you thought of it - more studying with human interaction sprinkled throught... What it definitely wasn't supposed to be was an investigation saga where one of your friends goes missing out of nowhere

𝑃𝑅𝐸𝑉𝐼𝑂𝑈𝑆 — 𝑀𝐴𝑆𝑇𝐸𝑅𝐿𝐼𝑆𝑇 — 𝑁𝐸𝑋𝑇 𝐸𝑃𝐼𝑆𝑂𝐷𝐸

Once Furina and Neuvillette confirm they’ve made it to the cafe, [Y/N] heads out. Although she has asked them to be there as early as possible, she still feels like she's in a rush. If there’s one thing she cannot be… is to be late. Not to mention, her mind is racing with each step. 

At this point, it’s debating whether she was more or less worried when visiting the orphanage. She wants to believe Chevreuse will be helpful. Angelique had been their first known missing person. She has taken her case specifically into her own hands… 

She wants… no, she has to gather as much intel as possible. 

The weather is lovely. Sunny and yet not too warm at the same time. These are perfect conditions for trying to learn further about the case of university students being kidnapped. 

Soon enough she sees the building of the esteemed Café Lutece. The closer she gets there, the more details she sees — people walking their dogs, stray cats scaring off pigeons enjoying some crumbs… And two girls standing close to the entrance.

Oh how glad [Y/N] is that Chevreuse’s profile picture matches her appearance in real life.

“H-Hello…” She walks up to the girls, greeting them politely. 

“Heyy, must be [Y/N]?” Chevreuse puts her hand out to shake the girl’s hand. “Glad to finally have a face to put to the messages.” 

“That’s right.” She smiles slightly. “Nice to meet you.” 

Her attention turns to Chevreuse’s companion. This must be the friend she had been talking about.

“This is Em, a dear wife of mine.” 

Emilie rolls her eyes playfully in response, flicking Chevreuse on the arm. “A friend. I’m your dearest friend, Chevy.” 

Her attention goes back to [Y/N], standing still and confused. “Pay her no mind, she just likes to joke in such ways. I'm Emilie, a biology major.” 

“It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Emilie.”

“The pleasure is all mine." She retaliates with a smile.

“Damnnn, can’t believe you’d cheat on me like that… In public no less!”

“Oh, shush you!”

Is this how best friends act? Is this how she and Lynette used to act? Surely not… 

“L-Let’s get inside, shall we?” She asks, trying to diffuse the situation. 

The establishment is abnormally quiet at this time of day. Had it been the school year, business would most certainly be booming. [Y/N] can make out Furina and Neuvillette chatting happily at one of the tables. Lovely, at least this makes it easy to choose a table. They exchange a brief glance, reminding each other why they're here.

Well, thank heavens they kept true to their word. Although [Y/N] believes in the sincerity of Chevreuse and Emilie, there’s never too much being careful. The words said by Madame Knave still linger on in her mind. 

“I don’t frequent cafes that often,” Emilie says, looking at the menu, before turning to the other girls. “Could anyone of you recommend something?” 

“A latte or a cappuccino, I guess?” Chevreuse answers.

Emilie doesn’t choose either, staring at the choices with full attention. 

“If you want something lighter,” [Y/N] starts. “A latte would be better — its milk texture is more delicate.” 

“I see… Thank you, Miss [Y/N].” 

With the blonde soon making up her mind, the girls finally put in their order and head to have a seat. They’re near one of the exits —  Charlotte’s preferred spot, right next to a socket. 

Their table is relatively close to the one where her chaperone is sitting… However, when they finally sit down, their awkwardness due to having this be their first meeting begins to show. 

“Sooo…” Chevreuse starts, trying to break the ice. “Why are you interested in Angelique?” 

The question shouldn’t surprise [Y/N] at all, and yet it does. She had rehearsed all the possibilities of this conversation multiple times. Should she answer truthfully or bend it a little?

“We’ve shared classes together.” 

“Did you work on any projects together?” Emilie inquires further, clearly sceptical of this being the sole reason. “I don’t wish to sound unkind, however, it does feel unnatural for such sudden interest in another person.” 

[Y/N] gulps in nerves. This shouldn’t be happening. She’s a journalist for fucks’ sake. She’s supposed to be in charge of the conversation to gather as much as possible.

“To be completely honest—“ Her voice gets reduced to whispers as she leans over the table. The staff of the cafe doesn't have to know.

The bell rings, as the doors next to [Y/N] swing open. Another customer has entered the building, shutting the journalism major completely out. Can’t be going around spewing such important news when somebody’s right next to you.

It seems like life is completely against [Y/N] at this exact moment. One of the waitresses is here to bring the girls their coffee. 

“Your order is ready. Hope you enjoy!” She turns around noticing the new customer. “Oh! Good morning, professor. You’re later than usual!” 

“Traffic, nothing else— Also.” The seemingly older male starts. “I’m no professor, just a mere assistant.”

[Y/N] shakes her head, getting her thoughts back to what they were gonna talk about.

“Dear me... sorry about that you two.” She tries to give a smile, struggling to get herself in order. 

Her body feels weird. She hasn’t taken a sip of the drink yet, so there’s no way it would get spiked. Has Charlotte’s ‘bad-vibes’ radar been passed onto her? 

“Don’t worry, take your time.” By the way, Emilie is speaking, she must understand something. In all seriousness, back in their texts, both girls mentioned topics serious enough to be said eye-to-eye. 

“The thing… is quite complicated…” 

“No wonder.” Chevreuse comments. “Something minuscule as wanting to ask about projects wouldn’t be as nerve-racking, would it?”

“Here’s your order sir, I hope you have a nice day.” 

“Likewise.” The male replies as he leaves the building. With that, it seems the cafe has returned to its homey atmosphere.

“Okay.” [Y/N] sighs, before lowering her voice to a whisper again. “I’m pretty convinced Angelique has been kidnapped.” 

Chevreuse and Emilie look at each other, confused.

“What do you mean?” A questioning tone replies.

“A friend of mine went missing around 3 weeks ago.” 

“How does it have any connection to Angel, though?” 

[Y/N]’s trekking through thin ice floes. She remembers every detail Charlotte managed to find about Angelique... and how it connects to Lynette's case.

“Angelique has been a writer for the Fontinalia Group, right?” 

“Em, was she? I don’t remember.” 

“That's right, she was.” Emilie’s shushed voice replies. “Didn’t talk much about her work there.” 

“A friend of mine was invited to join in the middle of April… And there are two other girls with connections to the troupe also gone.” 

The more Chevreuse and Emilie learn, the more concerned they get.  

“Did you go to the police?” 

“We did. The case has been moved to a different district. We haven’t heard a word ever since submitting it.” 

“Chevreuse… do you think?” The blonde leans down to take something from her bag. 

“Oh god, not fucking thatttt…” Chevreuse muffles back. 

It takes Emilie quite a time to locate whatever she was looking for… and it seems to be… a stack of papers? 

“What’s that about?” [Y/N] asks, noting the papers are in a ziplock bag. 

“In the middle of the semester, this was slid under our dorm's door.” 

“Can I look?” 

“Be our guest… just be careful—“ 

As soon as [Y/N] opens the bag, the room gets filled with an overwhelming scent of a male’s perfume. Holy fuck, that’s quite intense. 

“Oh god…” The girls all cough a bit from its sheer amount. 

[Y/N] slowly unwraps the paper noting its great quality. Whoever was in charge of that most certainly knew their stuff. 

“And she was mine, she was mine, the key was in my first, my fist was in my pocket…” She starts reading the letter out loud — her tone still shushed. “… she was mine.” 

She gives a questioning look to the girls opposite her. Why would they feel like it’s related?

“When did this get delivered to you? It must've been after Angelique's case has been brought up.” She asks. 

“Many people from the administrative office came to ask us about Angel in late April.” Chevreuse answers, her eyes on the letter. “Em, do you remember?” 

“This letter arrived in early May. Surely you remember me looking into this scent. It’s just… mind-numbing.”

“Oh right… Yeah, that sure was a journey…” 

“Emilie, have you found anything?” 

The girl shakes her head. “I’ve come to the conclusion, that it’s a mixture of different colognes. Quite difficult to pinpoint something noteworthy, unfortunately.” 

[Y/N] furrows her brow, the implications of the letter weighing heavily on her. The words she just read resonate with a chilling undercurrent. “What does it mean by ‘she was mine’? This sounds more like obsession than affection.” On the other hand, if she were to go by predictions of the perpetrator to be well informed in arts… it could be a quote from a book. 

“I'm no poet, yet it most certainly reads as somebody being fixated on other’s being… rather than being affectionate to them.” Emilie’s expression is equally serious. 

 “Could also be somebody who considers affections as the same as fixation.” Chevreuse comments, sighing… But the look [Y/N] gives the girl… She has figured it out.

“Oh— Oh god…” 

She stands abruptly, bumping into the table in the process. Nerves overtake her body. Her legs are jittering, giving out a little.

Chevreuse and Emilie are scattering out of their seats trying to help to keep her steady. Even though they haven’t known Angelique long, and they’ve known [Y/N] for even less… both of them can tell her emotions are real. 

“Let’s get you to sit again.” Chevreuse leads her back onto the chair. “Have you figured out what the text means?” 

“… Lolita. It’s a quote from the book.” 

More time passes before Emilie and Chevreuse feel comfortable to leave [Y/N] on her own. She even rejects their gracious offer to drive her back to the dorms, since they’d be heading the same way.

The only thing she asks for is to exchange phone numbers. Even though they might not about Lynette’s situation still… having more people on your side makes it safer whenever something eventually goes wrong.

Furina and Neuvillette, despite observing the situation did not interfere at any point during their conversation… thus their job had been switched to notifying the rest of the group what has been going on… at least partially. 

Soon after the girls say their byes, they also leave the shop. Their job has been completed, regardless if they were necessary there in the first place. 

And [Y/N]? Well, she’s been keeping close to the small cafe, trying to contact the orphanage to share what she has learned… Whoever is behind Angelique’s, and by proxy Lynette’s kidnapping is either a sick person… 

… Or directly related to them. 

“Please, please just answer…” She says, looking at her phone deflated. She does not want to disturb anybody around her. Surely the caretaker of the House of Hearth wouldn’t be petty to leave her high and dry just because of a minor disagreement. Well, even if she did — [Y/N] does her utmost to convince her mind otherwise.

Soon, her call finally gets answered. 

“Hello?” They say. That… Is most certainly not Madame Knave… This is… 

“—Lyney?!”

AGATHARIO KISS BUT AT WHAT COST AAAAAA MY HEART 😭 that was such a heartbreaking and beautiful way for her to go but damnnn I wanted to see more of them!!! I swear the only context for their relationship we got was Agatha calling her 'my love' or something LIKE THAT IS NOT ENOUGH COME BACK AND TELL US THE STORY

I am SO MAD that Jen got her powers back then disappeared I WANT TO HEAR HER STORY!! it pisses me off so much that they just randomly say oh it was agatha who bound her whoops lets undo that okay bye bye Jen!!! little happy flying away moment yippee!! like NO she deserves WAY MORE TIME for her character

as much as it pains me that Alice had to die it does make sense why like someone has to show how Death works but its still so sad :( honestly her death is so impactful because it feels undeserved, it feels too early and that's the whole point. We're supposed to feel like her death was unnecessary because that's exactly how she felt about it, she wasn't ready and neither were we!!!

I MISS LILIA 😭 I also understand Lilia's death like even though the road wasn't "real" she still saved everyone from the salem seven

I love that Billy made the door into a gravestone for Lilia Sharon and Alice that was so sweet :') I think it's such a good way for his character to go, beginning to accept what he has done wrong and moving forward rather than embracing evil entirely or drowning in guilt I love that for him

Agatha and Nicky :((( oh my loves, my heart is broken, they really did ramp up the sweetness of their bond just to make it hurt more when he died and it completely worked I am crushed

i WANT to go home for thanksgiving i really do. and basically i am fully planning on doing so but i am genuinely worrying way too much about what to do when it comes to potentially seeing my dad. we still have not talked more than the few times he sends me a "sallie mae called again, fuck you" text (the fuck you is never explicit but its def implied). last month or maybe even 2 months ago now i do not remember but I texted HIM an apology, and in it i also said i did not forgive him for the bullshit he pulled last summer (WILD to think about it being that long ago.. lmfao) and he never responded to it LOL just fully ignored it. sent me a text 2 days later that he got another call from SM. so thats that i guess! but the problem now is my sisters..... i cant trust them to be on my side. and that really fucking sucks and hurts my feelings if im being so honest. and i dont mean that they shouldnt go visit him out of solidarity or whatever but like i cant even bring him up without them trying to be diplomatic and be all "both sides are bad" about it man. and im just worried that if i choose to skip out on dinner at his house next friday, they will tell him that im in town and just decided not to come, rather than what i think they should do which is just lie and say i had other plans or that i didnt come home for thanksgiving at all lol. because if he knows im in town he knows ill be staying at my moms and if he was willing to drive 5 hours across state lines to threaten me at my apartment he will certainly have no problem driving 30 mins from his house to my moms to threaten me there!! so i really dont know what to do! like i really cant even trust my siblings to just not bring me up or to change the subject or fucking idk man. so im considering rearranging my whole plans, missing thanksgiving day (which wouldnt be that bad bc its my stepdads family and theyre fucking wackos..) and pushing my travel time back and not even leaving my apt until like mid afternoon on friday just so i really cant make it and ill at least have some plausible deniability. i dont fucking know man. its all so stupid. the thing is too, im perfectly content with just going no contact. i do not think about this man at all until he shows up in my messages. but he is such a fucking vindictive little bitch that he NEEDS to keep poking and prodding at me because he needs the attention. like.. just stop texting me damnnn 😭 fucking loser ass father!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

okay so, i can't be the only person who assumed that this episode reminded me of taz amnesty a Lot. maybe i've just been listening to the mcelroys too much lately but the 2d6 thing reminded me a Lot of the motw ttrpg. the dice reminded me a lot about the success of your rolls compared to how it translates in motw. like 2-6 is a hard fail, 7-9 is a mixed success, and 10+ is a full success. it could be a coincidence though. what's also a coincidence is the dice. i've mentioned it already, but the phenomenon of something altering fate that makes good/bad luck occur is so similar to one mini-arc of amnesty where a giant cottonwood tree was literally altering the course of fate with its cottonwood seeds to make bad things happen (accidents, that sort of thing. the mention of how the one guy died in this episode - being hit by a truck and being the only one to die because someone fell asleep at the wheel - reminded me a lot of similar "accidents" during that particular mini-arc).

also, i find alice's reaction to sam's (potential) crush on celia in this episode to be very telling. i don't actually think she's going to Kill celia, just to get that out of the way. but i think she does miss being with sam. maybe that's why she was acting like sam had a massive crush on celia when she was first introduced. i could be wrong though! maybe she's still trying to process her feelings but due to her nature of passing basically everything off as a joke it's being shoved to the side for her to deal with Later. the very classic "this is probably something i have to process but i'll push this aside for future me to deal with". that's not to say that alice and sam aren't good friends! i'm very glad that we have healthy examples of people who have broken up but still remain friends. you don't get that a lot.

also TEDDY!!!!!!! i'm so glad he's returned. i was worried for a moment that he was just not going to come back but i'm very glad to see he's still around. i started to sweat a bit when he mentioned that he already got fired from his last job but i was very relieved when he got a new job interview. stay out of the OIAR teddy.

also i find it very convenient how the moment sam admitted that he is saddened by the dead ends for the magnus institute, another case pops up with a reading on artifact storage with a pair of dice that apparently change your fate and bring you good luck/bad luck depending on how you rolled. And it's read by chester no less. i can't tell if chester is trying to bring sam further into this, or is cryptically trying to tell sam to stay away but sam just Isn't Listening.

going back to the pair of dice, i think it's interesting how the person writing the report for spooky dice stressed that he did not feel compelled to roll the dice in any way, nor did it feel like he was being possessed. he just Willingly did so. and so did everyone who rolled those dice. even the one man who tried to give them away couldn't resist rolling the dice one last time before getting snake eyes. this almost reminds me of gambling addictions, where while you technically Can stop at any time and it doesn't hurt you to (aside from i guess the consequences you already have), you feel the want to keep rolling. you wanna see what happens. you want that rush that you get when you roll high. that's a bit superficial though so i won't say that's the "true meaning" of the statement. i also must point out that this isn't exactly how any prior fears have acted. you could say "this falls under x, y, z, and b fears", but that kinda defeats the point. guy has spooky dice; things go wrong. also i find it laughable that the guy just goes full cartoon villain and dresses for the part of "guy who gives you dice and you roll them and Something Happens To You". sad that he died right at the end.

i like this episode a lot actually! i have to say this is probably my favorite one, genuinely. love the idea of spooky dice that make your life a literal ttrpg. i can't wait for episode ten where "alice and sam go to a place and do a thing". that's gonna be a special episode since that day's pi day! see you soon!

another hard one . i have an unfortunate tendency to play a lot of games that either don't really end or aren't really story oriented to begin with. cloudpunk is a more recent one that Got my ass. i'm counting ffxiv shadowbringers here. ghostrunner...... no comment. borderlands 2's ending isnt exactly hard hitting or deep but i feel like i have to mention it just because every time i finish it its like DAMNNN this game is awesome. red dead 2, and red dead 1 for that matter.... theres so many video games on this earth

okay wow well its been well over two years since i updated this 'diary' blog lol

so weird seeing all those old posts about being a teenager with existential thoughts lol i dont really think like that anymore, at least not so much. i guess an update is in order then lmao okay so im in my 3rd year of uni now and im doing my year abroad! doing it in a small city in spain and i really quite like my job, ive only got 14hrs, i have a 3 day weekend, the city is small so i can walk everywhere and this job really gives me a sense of purpose that ive been missing in my life. makes me really realise that university is NOT for me lmfao i was so depressed during my second year i probs went to like 20% of my classes loool. im pretty sure i mightve almost failed aswell but since the professors were doing a marking boycott they released grades without marking the final exam and so since i was already doing well enough in all my classes i passed! quite lucky i think cos i wouldve been so entirely embarrassed and ashamed if i had to repeat a year cos of mental health. i think things are better here tho my issues havent disappeard completely like eg i have these evening classes 6-7.40pm tuesdays and thursdays and for the past like month i havent attended :/ at first it was cos i was sick (i think it was covid lol either from glasgow or on the plane back idk) and then i just didnt go back to class. i think my main excuse is that that is dinner time for me and i dont wanna move dinner time lol. but also i think the class itself is just not for me i dont feel like i learn a whoooole lot while im there and learning on apps is easier for me? but i always felt better for going to the classes cos i was like ha! im not depressed would a depressed person do this!? but of course depression doesnt work like that and i think i need medicated ! but that seems too scary to say. but at least i found someone to do a language exchange with! ive only had one hour with her in spanish, which was yesterday, but i already feel like ive improved lmaooo like i literally dreamt last night in a mix of spanish and english ahahahah cos when i think about it i literally have not ever regularly spoken spanish, ive only really spoken for activies in class or speaking exams so no wonder i have 0000 confidence in my speaking abilities but im hopeful that this will really improve my speaking :) about my job i guess- i work in a high school and i really enjoy interacting with the kids they really do make every day different and more interesting so i am grateful for them but sometimes damnnn sometimes i wanna jump out the window especially with this third year class they are the class KNOWN for being a bitof a pain lol and sometimes i have to lead the class by myself lmaooo mid u ik im 20 but i dont look it and they certainly dont treat me like an adult or a teacher and ngl they are a bit disrespectful at times but also what are u gonna do they are 14 and i have no proper teaching experience to help them by myself i can only hope that im actuallt helping them learn english lol. it is quite difficult tho with my scottish accent to try and sound as clear as possible because i pronounce almost 100% of the vowel sounds differently than rp english which is what i think they are used to so i have to realllyyyy annunciate all my words and man is it tiring lol.

what else. im going to madrid this weekend with bestie and im really looking forward to having a relaxing and fun time but i still havent packed my bags looooooool i alwyas do this tho and its fine not a big deal at all but i def need to do it tonight cos im leaving tomorrow immediately after work so ill have to have an actual breakfast and take snacks with me. im really enjoying my time in spain or at least im trying to but i feel like i have pushed myself enough out my comfort zone to be able to look back on this and say yeah i really took advantage of that. like i think i need to be more personable (is that a word yes it is i used it right) in teaching and be more interactive with them and stuff also i feel like i shoulve arranged a language exchange sooner cos i think this will really help, and i need to interact more with the other assistant but the thing is is im just not a sociable personnnnnnn aghgh. any way cutting this short cos i need to pack my bags for my trupppppp

Was at FATE LA concert for the boys today I was lucky enough to get floor tickets! Torn both the back of my heels from walking in cute but uncomfy shoes but I dont give a flying fuck, i stood for like 99% of the show, with minimal sec breaks to sit during mostly during their breaks to change outfits. It was one of the best concerts IN MY LIFE. I'm having post concert depression I miss them so much I want to see them again. Enhypen has been a really special group to me that brought me out of depression and I love them more than anything and best know IM DEF GETTING VIP 1 NEXT TOUR CUZ WHAT WERE THOSE STANDOFF INTERACTIONS???? Selfies with the boys holding your hands and doing cute poses????? I need that in my life. Funny highlights included me standing at the merch line for a good hour until I gave up cuz it was hot as hell, getting lost trying to find a wristband only to know they were also inside the stadium once I entered. I stayed and parties from the beginning till end, to all the encores legit ALL OF THEM. There were so many encores. After the first encore i thought it would be over and my sister was getting tired so she made us leave but jake was like "AY WHY ARE PPL LEAVING THIS AINT OVER" So I ran back and danced like hell to the other encore and made sure it was the last before leaving. I love love love love them so much. I'm suprised I didn't lose my voice (I already have a terrible cold/cough but I still screamed by butt off cuz the boys deserve it). I can't wait for the next tour and I'm definitely doing it better next time (especially wearing comfy shoes cuz damnnn the way I had to disinfect and put several bandaids on them when i got home LOL). WORTH IT CUZ JAKE SAID "GO CRAZY LIKE YOU DONT GIVE A FUCK! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (I just remembered i got a really cute jungwon picket i bought beforehand and i lost that shit even tho it was on my seat lmaooo someone stole it i guess i wasnt paying attention but i got a lot of freebies from engenes so its ok)
