Drunk Jing Yuan doing something to my brain cause imagine when he was still a lieutenant (around young adult and still reach HCQ era I believe) but imagine how loose he is compared to our current general, he certainly have a different tolerance effect
Young lieutenant jing yuan who is getting a little too drunk and is blindly letting his heart slip past infatuation. Living life too fast, too foolishly, with a heart almost freshly squeezed of its naïveté.
When he’s drunk he thinks he could be in love. You’d be the perfect victim—so kind and trustworthy. The idea of having a tender little romance with an elder healer’s apprentice is tantalizing indeed.
You haven’t drank all night despite being generously dragged along by your master to a friendly gathering of prominent figures. And though Jing Yuan is familiar with these faces, it’s clear you are not.
cw | alcohol, fluff
Alcohol or not, he can’t bear to see you look so uncomfortable—like a lost little lamb. When you excuse yourself quietly to take a quick walk around the gardens, he follows suit. The false moons are high in the Luofu’s sky, listening to your quiet woes beside sleeping blooms.
Though the alcohol is prominent in his system, his footing is steady as he makes his way to you sitting by a small pond.
“Sit.” Your command catches him a little off guard. “Before you make yourself a fool if you fall in the water.”
“Not the most common greeting I’ve had the pleasure of receiving, but it’s not distasteful,” Jing Yuan chuckles as he takes a seat next to you.
Your eyes widen, a deep-set panic quickly flashing in different stages on your features.
“L-Lieutenant– I wasn’t aware it was you, I swear!”
“Quite alright. And you’d be right. I am quite drunk, I’ll admit.”
There’s still hesitation, given your rigid posture in his presence. It’s sweet how hard you try to please, but these small cracks in your front are all the more endearing. Some sense of a more natural you.
You sigh, something bone-deep and exhausted. “Apologies, lieutenant. I’m just quite used to the strong smell of alcohol from the many that stop by the apothecary for remedies in the morning after a night of reckless drinking. Master is no different. I meant no offense I just… thought it was master coming for that same remedy as well.”
He laughs at this, a little too loose as the alcohol begins to work its way through his system. Everything moves so quickly and you seem so far away despite being right next to him.
“Quite impressive for the elder healer to depend on his apprentice for such important remedies,” he complements. It makes your hands fidget in your lap, clearly not used to the attention. Always working from the shadows.
“It’s really nothing spectacular. You’re much too kind.” He makes you nervous. In a good way.
It’s so easy for him to want more of you. A splendid respite.
He’s sure he’s smiling stupidly at you, his head resting on his palm as he sits rather lax. The alcohol bids him not to care.
“I’m quite fond of you, if you’ve noticed,” he admits quietly. A bit too forward as the drinks begin to talk.
His words make your face burn hot.
“Surely you’ve had far too much to drink,” you squeak as he slumps against you. Warm and much, much bigger than you. Your hand is immediately on his face, cool and soft where the alcohol warms his cheeks. “How much did you have? Come, quickly. I’ll prepare you a remedy. What if you have alcohol poisoning? Can you walk?”
Jing Yuan follows obediently as you drag him by the arm, walking perfectly fine as you fuss over whether he feels like he may pass out or worse.
“Sit, please,” you motion to the small bench by your bedside.
“Quite the prepared one, aren’t you,” he comments as he watches you quickly run to and fro gathering the ingredients you packed for this small trip. The room is only slightly spinning.
You’re rambling and giving a light scolding, deep in concentration, when he quickly pulls you by the waist. Close. Too close.
Your breath is in your throat, heart beating loudly in your ears. “Lieutenant, you shouldn’t be standing. You need to–”
Before you can finish, his finger is gently on your lips to quiet your nerves. A gentle thing as he sways you both subtly in his hold, your body slowly releasing tension.
“This will pass. What I need,” he presses a chaste kiss upon your temple, “is you.”

How They Flirt / Scarlet Ribbons.
(tl;dr most of them can’t . 🙏)
[Scarlet Ribbons Index]
Giorno
Giorno genuinely has no idea what he’s doing, although you’d never know on first glance. He studies you like he’s a sociologist conducting naturalistic observation. He subtly plays up the aspects of himself he thinks you’d be taken with, adjusting how much he talks or listens, how physically close he gets, etc. Is it a little weird? Yes. In his defense, he’s never cared for someone this deeply, so he doesn’t want to mess it up. Even if he’s making adjustments to how he acts around you, it’s still sincere. He wouldn’t want you falling for a false image of himself, after all. Giorno is easy to get along with due to his polite nature and quiet charm. He makes you feel as if you’ve known one another all your lives within a few weeks. As his confidence builds, he’ll get a little more playful, displaying a mischievousness few expect him to possess. He’ll whisper quips into your ear, lean in to wipe cream off the corner of your lips after you take a drink, and purposefully get ‘lost’ when walking you home so that you spend more time together. He learns fast.
Bruno
Bruno’s flirting is old-fashioned and kinda stiff, but charming in its own way. He has the basics down from watching how his father interacted with his mother before she left. Despite being a prized bachelor, he has no experience in the romance department, he’d been too focused on his ambitions to dabble. Rather than embarrassing himself by trying something he’s unfamiliar with, he focuses on what comes naturally. When you both aren’t working, he’ll lighten up and show a more relaxed side of himself. He has to resist the temptation of spoiling you every waking second. He recalls how enthused his mom would become upon receiving gifts like pearl earrings from his father and takes a similar approach. The concept of there being a reminder of him on your person pleases him greatly, he especially loves giving you necklaces. Surprisingly, he does have something of a possessive streak. He’ll sometimes drape a coat/blazer over your shoulders if you’re wearing an outfit that earns stares, using the excuse that he doesn’t want you to be cold.
Fugo
Lord please help him. Most of his flirting is confined to the realm of theory. He’ll lay awake at night staring at his ceiling, contemplating the most efficient method to get his feelings across. Many hours have been spent penning prose to paper, the parchment ultimately meeting the same fate. He rips it to pieces in fits of frustration so thoroughly, one might believe he used a paper shredder. Fugo already thinks you’re completely of his league and his inability to woo you without internally combusting makes him feel extra pathetic. So rather than go on the offensive, he’s on the defensive, doing what he can to obstruct the other “hormonal imbeciles” from making serious headway with you. For example, he’s always the first to sit next to you in restaurants or on car rides. He also feeds the others false information about you, by saying your least favorite food is your favorite, stuff to that effect. A professional saboteur. Poor guy doesn’t know you’d genuinely be flattered to receive one heartfelt compliment from him.
Mista
He thinks he has mad game (he does not have mad game). Oddly enough, he has more confidence when the others are present? Maybe it’s some caveman instinct that makes him want to show off, but whatever the case, he gets in a decent flow of things. His arm is wrapped around your shoulders more often than not. Mista knows how to make you laugh and you both have innumerable inside jokes. When you’re caught between two dessert choices, he’ll get the one you didn’t pick, so that you’ll ask him for a bite. He then proceeds to feed you said bite while ignoring the death stares from the other gang members present. When it’s just the two of you though, it feels oddly intimate, and he starts losing his cool. He does get better about this over time. Drops some corny lines that you mistake for jokes and laugh at. Honestly, he’s a chill guy, so this outcome doesn’t even perturb him. There’s no better prize than making you laugh.
Narancia
Narancia is the most overt out of all his rivals. He's willing to stab someone for so much as looking at you the wrong way, he really thinks you’re some higher being who has graced him with your presence. His flirting is mostly just him hanging out around you every second he can. It doesn’t matter if you’re doing something fun like going to the arcade or grocery shopping, he wants to be there, by your side, where he feels the most at peace in the world. He laughs at your jokes, smiles when you enter the room, and gets visibly dejected when you leave. Narancia is basically your cheerleader — he hypes you up when you wear a new outfit, offers to paint your nails, lets you test out new makeup ideas on him... he’s down for anything, so long as you’re involved.
Abbacchio
Abbacchio erroneously assumes you’ll be able to piece together his intentions yourself if he drops enough hints. When this proves to be going over your head, he swears that you’re a lethal threat to his sanity. His style is similar to Narancia’s, loath as he is to admit it. He’ll invite you over for a nice vintage bottle he claimed to have happened upon (in reality, a great deal of care went into choosing it), so that you can spend a leisurely evening together. He tries curbing his sardonic comments in your presence, but you never make him feel like he needs to change his personality. You just naturally bring out this softer side to him he didn’t know existed. He is vigilant in looking out for your best interests from afar, helping you in ways you’ll never know about, as he doesn’t expect gratitude. What matters most to him is knowing you’re happy.

NSFW Alphabet: Joe Velasco
I’ve always wanted to do this, and I thought it would be fast and easy but boy was I wrong. I think I went a little overboard, but I enjoyed this, and I would do it again for other characters. WARNING: There is a small mention of SA
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Joe is an aftercare king. He has been touched starved most of his life and loves physical contact. He wants to stay in bed and hold you, caress your body, and kiss your skin until your heartrates even out and the sweat from your lovemaking cools. He will run his hands through your hair and whisper sweet words in your ear. You can tell how much he enjoyed the sex by the ratio of English to Spanish. He defaults back to his mother tongue the harder the climax hits which leaves him in a state of superior orgasmic high.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and their partner’s)
Joe’s favorite body part of his is his arms. He keeps himself in good shape for his job and is proud of the physical effects it has on his body. He likes knowing that he is strong and that if he needs to, he can protect you.
Joe’s love your body in its entirety. He makes that very clear to you many times over. If you ever had any body issues this man is the cure for them. That said he is definitely a thigh man. Any chance he gets his hands smooth over your thighs, squeezing the tender flesh and muscles there. He loves to slide between your thighs, kissing and sucking bruises into them. When he knows you’ll indulge him he will lay his head on your lap for hours while watching the football game or when he is exhausted from work, take a nap.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Joe isn’t really concerned with his own cum. He doesn’t have a breeding kink and he has always been rigidly careful with all his sexual partners, always using condoms. It took months into a steady relationship with you and the assurance of birth control to convince him to do it raw. You were shocked to find out that you were the first person he ever had sex without protection with.
He is, however, obsessed with your arousal. He wants to make sure you are completely soaked. He loves the taste and the feel of it dripping down his chin or thighs depending on the position.
D = Dirty secret (self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Joe lost his virginity to a girl who was in the gang back in Jaurez that he helped when he was younger. He was only thirteen and the girl was nineteen. It was an awkward experience, and the girl was high on something. Joe doesn’t like to think about it and has never admitted that he hadn’t consented to it. All his friends thought it was so cool that he had been with an older girl, so he never made a big deal out of it.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Joe has experience, mostly with hookups and one-night stands. He had a Casanova phase. The women were fast but warm. He learned a lot about women this way but towards the end, it just left him feeling emotionally empty.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Joe’s favorite position is missionary, mating press, or anything position that is face to face. Joe likes to kiss, and he is good with his tongue. He gets quite hypnotized watching your breast bounce. It gives him easy access to suck on your breast or slide his hands between your legs to play with your clit.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Joe is more passionate and serious in bed. But the longer you guys are together and the more intimate you get the more his humor shows. The pillow talk is where he gets more relaxed and jokes around.
H = Hair (how well-groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Joe doesn’t do a full manscape, but he likes to keep his hair trimmed up. But if his life gets busy, he doesn’t think much about it. He is the type of guy that if you requested him to completely shave, would do his best to oblige you.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Joe loves intimacy even if he doesn’t realize it. He likes making his partner feel good and like there is a connection. When he is in a stable relationship the intimacy from him doesn’t just double but triples. He wants to touch you, hold you, finger your hair, share eye contact, and most of all he wants you to know that he sees you and that you see him.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Joe masturbates but not to an extreme. He would much rather wait until he has time to have sex with you. He usually only does it when he is trying to blow off steam or has had a stressful day. He will also take care of himself if he is horny, but you aren’t in the mood to have sex.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Joe has a praise kink and loves to dirty talk. He loves hearing the sounds from your lovemaking. The moans and groans you make, the smack of your bodies meeting, the squelching sounds of wet pussy as he thrusts into you good and hard. A bonus kink of Joe’s is thigh-high stockings, the man goes feral when you wear them. Be warned that you will probably be sporting finger-shaped bruises on your thighs for weeks after.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
The bed or couch is the usual go-to for Joe. He likes the comfortability and versatility that they provide for positions and moving around. He has of course christened his entire place with you and has found various other preferences. He likes shower sex but gets tired of the water running cold before he is through with you.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
You. Joe doesn’t need much reason to have sex. A big turn-on for him is when you initiate. There is just something about you wanting him and having no trouble showing it, that has all his blood heading south.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Joe is not willing to share. He will never be okay with having another person join in on your sex life.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Joe loves to give oral. If he could eat your pussy every day, he would. He is a pro at it and doesn’t stop until your legs are shaking and you're trying to push him away from being overstimulated. Then he will take his time licking up his mess from your inner thighs.
Joe always enjoys a good blow job. You on your knees in front of him sucking his cock, tongue licking, spit lubricating the slide he could lose his damn mind. That being said, at the beginning of your relationship he would never ask for one. He had bad experiences with some of the women he was with not enjoying it, giving little to no effort, or complaining. It made it not worth it to him because he wanted to bring his partners pleasure and their obvious distaste for the act was a turnoff for him. He stopped asking and for a long time, none of his hookups offered so he went without. He was shocked and unbelievably turned on by how into you were. He still doesn’t like asking, and you offer often so he doesn’t have to, but he will on occasion now.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Joe is on both sides of his coin. He can be slow and passionate, especially during lazy morning sex. when the mood strikes making you feel every inch of his cock filling you. Whispering praises into your ear and caressing your skin. His default is on the rougher side. He will take you fast and rough, skin slapping against yours. He will take you, make you his, and leave some sort of love bite on your skin to remember him by.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
While Joe would prefer to take his time, he enjoys quickies. Life is fast past and busy there is no way of getting around it if you want to steal some time for release in each other. He will also admit that the limited time and having to finish up and act like it never happened adds a sense of urgency and can make the experience hotter.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Joe is willing to take some risks. He likes to experiment and is willing to try pretty much anything you request. Working at SVU and what he has seen there are some lines he won’t cross.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Joe has a higher stamina. He can drag foreplay and sex out for hours. He will also go multiple rounds if you have the time and energy. The two of you tend to have 24-hour fuck-a-tons after he gets back from undercover assignments leaving you both sore and walking a bit funny for a few days afterward.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
No, Joe doesn’t have any toys. He doesn’t see the use for them but would probably use them on you if you asked. He’s more of a restraint guy, he would prefer to cuff or tie you up.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
This man is the biggest tease. He will have you so worked up that you will be hating him as much as you love him. You will be shaking and begging him to just take you already. The payoff is more than worth it, the orgasm and the afterglow high are otherworldly.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Joe is pretty vocal he will grunt and groan. He likes to talk dirty when he is taking you and gets off on the sounds you guys make when having sex. He can be quiet with the right motivation for doing the deed in more risqué spots.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
While Joe doesn’t smoke often anymore, he always has a spare pack of cigarettes in his house and in his motorcycle side bag. He only craves them when his stress level gets too high or when he has had a particularly rough round of sex that releases that stress. He doesn’t like anyone to know and goes to great lengths to cover it when he does. You had found out when he had lit one up while you were supposed to be showering but had come back in to urge Joe to join you.
He had been sitting on the bed, a cigarette held loosely in his fingers as he blew smoke out the window. His body was relaxed, and he seemed at peace at that moment. He had been embarrassed you had caught him.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Joe is a shower, not a grower. He is a big boy with above average in size cock, about 6.5 to 7 inches long. He is girthy enough that there is a definite stretch when he first enters you but nothing overwhelming.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Joe has an above-average sex drive. He wants to have sex multiple times a week. He also goes through phases where he wants to spend days in the bedroom, inside of you. It does occasionally dip with bad cases at work or when his personal life feels out of control.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Joe tries to stay awake after, but he usually ends up falling asleep quickly. It’s hard for him not to when he is riding the high from his orgasm and your soft body is tucked into his. You can try to sneak out of bed to use the bathroom or grab a glass of water, but you will wake him. Joe is a light sleeper.
Another one is done! I have been loving writing again. I think I might branch out and do some other SVU characters too. I started rewatching season 13 and I forgot how much I loved Nick Amaro- I'm not ashamed to admit I have it bad for Latino men! So anyways I have a few ideas for him too. I love Barba and Carisi too, but I think I would struggle writing for them. If you want me to attempt just let me know along with any request.

I think it's a side effect of having a slightly bigger audience than before, but this year I've been getting a LOT of questions about offering digital editions of the KC books so I wanted to talk about it out loud for a bit.
There are a bunch of complicated reasons I've never offered the volumes as digital downloads, and I think they mostly boil down to concerns about the pretty embarrassing lack of significant internet presence Kidd Commander has accumulated over the 11 years it's been running. The audience I DO have is very enthusiastic, and let me be clear that I appreciate how unique and cool that is, especially in the era we're in where I really have no business running things the way I do lmao
The problem is, in refusing to do any of the predatory social media bullshit that tricks people into doing advertising for my comic while pretending it's a fandom, and by taking initiative to build fandom spaces for people to hang out in myself, I've created an extremely insular community where folks don't really feel any need to help it grow. "If you build it they'll come" is true, but the other half of that is people going "hey neat this thing builds itself!" and you end up with dozens of fandom posts, hours of discussion, and even fanwork locked away in inaccessible spaces while the pages on the site consistently get no comments or interaction and the public tags are empty.
WHAT does this have to do with digital editions lol
The idea was, a thing that helps set KC apart is the webcomic thing where you're not only checking a site regularly as a routine, but you're building some impression of the author as well. My little news posts are bundled with the pages, the site gives a sense of Environment in way static editions don't. In return for offering nearly a thousand pages of completely free content the reader has to Encounter Me at some point, and be made aware that this is an operation being run by a single person, and that its survival is entirely dependent on other people reading it and supporting it. Going to the site ALSO at least lets people know a comment section /exists/, and there COULD be a community to participate in. You don't get that with the books as much, but the books are almost exclusively going to folks who already read the comic, I don't think they're floating around out there to many people who didn't buy them directly from me after reading it online.
It is objectively easier for people to binge an archive they can carry around offline with them, I completely get it. But I've watched SO many new readers fall in love with this thing in real time as they leave comments behind them through the archive, and even just forming the habit of checking the site regularly really goes a long way towards forming enough of a connection with a reader for them to stick around for the long haul. If you just read it all isolated on your phone, it stops there; it's easy to forget it's an independent operation that desperately needs your support, /I/ have no idea whether you liked it or if people are even reading, and when you're finished you'll move on to something else because there's no visible fandom to engage with.
I don't WANT to think this is what will happen, but it's already been happening here for years even without proper channels. I sort of feel like this would just be facilitating my own demise lmao. All the comics who run the way I do were ALREADY popular back before the landscape shifted to fast-fashion sensibilities, so Girl Genius offering digital editions doesn't really harm them, you know? By the time forums died their community was already so stable and self-sufficient they could quit updating the main story for a whole year and not even feel it. Gunnerkrigg is signed on with fuckin Dark Horse now. People doing the things KC does got in early and stabilized before I even got started, fandom is a different world now and I'm already barely keeping this train running on my own as it is.
But on the other hand: accessibility!! HOW many times have I wanted to engage with something but they WONT LET ME PAY THEM FOR THE THING I WANT so I just leave!! The alternative here isn't "oh if i FORCE THEM to read it online they'll stick around" it's "if i can't read it how i want then i'm skipping it". That makes total sense, /I/ do that! What about people who want the extra content in the books but can't pay international fucking shipping!! It's also an Archival issue, which absolutely kills me, but that's a whole other post lmao. There are extremely good reasons to offer another option for reading my work, but I am so anxious this would just be putting a nail in this stupid coffin I've been building already.
I've been having this conversation a lot, mostly with Lee, but it came up again this morning in an email and regardless of my own feelings: this is a thing people want, a very reasonable thing, and if I fail to provide it that's just bad business. Do y'all here have any thoughts about all this? I would like to give the people what they want and y'all are The People.
Anyway buried way down here so far I'll make another post about it: I /am/ going to offer the specials as digital downloads, permanently in the shop. They're old books by now, I'm having issues keeping them in stock anyway, and they DON'T exist online anywhere, so this isn't technically any skin off my back outside of piracy issues, which. would be a stupid thing to fret about lmao
thanks for reading all this! I'm gonna go sort through pdfs for a while

One thing i always appreciated about hisoutensoku in particular was the way it used characters bullet hell styles of fighting in their fighting game movesets.
Like, historically the difference between reimu and marisa is an easy to play low damage character who doesn't need to bother aiming versus a high-speed high-execution character. When bringing them to a fighting game, you'd usually want the series protagonist to play kinda like ryu, being the default character with a tool for everything. And indeed, AoCF does this exact thing, making reimu a jack-of-all-trades character.
But soku instead makes you make this exact decision between the two of them. Reimu's still got her homing shots, but she can also put up walls and has amazing anti-airs, meaning that like in her bullet hell games she can control the screen very well. They couldn't make her homing bullets just hit you from anywhere, so instead they turned her into a really easy to pick up zoner who captures the feeling of playing bullet hell reimu by encouraging her to play less aggressive manner. In both games, you don't need to chase down your opponents, and are instead responding to the threats they're posing and forcing them to make the first move.
In an more basic fighting game, with reimu being the defensive beginner character you'd expect marisa to be a similarly easy character, but with a focus on aggression. But instead, like in the bullet hell, she's kinda both easy and hard at the same time. She's got very simple tools that are really effective, and is extremely fast, and has high damage. But like in touhou, marisa takes high execution. Marisa's combos are way harder than usual. She also can't control the screen as well as reimu, forcing her to use her movement to put herself in really favourable situations. In touhou, i feel like reimu is the basic easy character and marisa is the basic hard character, and most other characters are usually based around a gimmick. So it fits that Reimu and Marisa are both really basic fundamentals-heavy characters, though Marisa asks for a mastery of movement and execution to be played at her best.
but its not just the protagonists, i feel like so many other characters have their gameplay accurately reflect their fights. The big standout for me is Reisen. Her fight in IN is so cool because of the way she uses really really slow bullets and tries to trap you. In Soku, she has bullets that match many of the ones she uses in IN. Her basic B bullets remind me a lot of the ones she uses in her first phase, traveling really fast at you before slowing down when they reach around 3/4ths of the screen. And when it comes to trapping the opponent, reisen's okizeme game is one of the best. And her mixups are amazing thanks to a lot of her fakeout teleports that are reminiscent of the way she teleported her bullets in IN.
There's details like that in most of the characters. Loads of Cirno's bullets in EoSD are fired in shotgun style bursts, and she spellcards like icicle fall that shoot out to the side before moving towards the player. Similarly, Soku cirno's bullets are often fired in similar spread-shot bursts, such as her memorable 5C. And she has some bullets she can ricochet off the ground to control space like icicle fall. Sanae's most memorable spellcard is the one where she traps you between two really wavy beams and forces you to dodge bullets while also trying not to get hit by the moving waves. In soku, one of her strongest aspects is her okizeme, setting up wind tunnels to chase you and read your tech rolls and restricting your options in a similar way. Aya is the fastest touhou character, and uses her speed to get in and take pictures in her home game. Similarly, Aya's main strength in soku is her mobility, and while she suffers at longer ranges she's one of the best characters up close.
I really appreciated just how well touhou characters gameplay translates into their Soku counterparts. This is done so well that i don't even really notice it at first, i pick up a character I've fought or played as in the bullet hells and intuit how im supposed to play them here. This feels pretty obvious, characters in a fighting game spinoff should feel like they do in their home series, but its interesting because the other main touhou fighter doesn't do this as gracefully. I do think AoCF is an excellent game that is outstanding in both gameplay and aesthetics, but moveset wise i find it doesn't translate character gameplay quite so well. I didn't fight nitori in mountain of faith, with her array of unpredictable spell cards with really unique patterns that control the screen, and expect her to focus more on fighting you up close. Reisen's gameplan has completely changed and now uses poison damage and fast melee, and her teleports are now used as mobility tools too instead of strictly mixup tools.
And this is all fine, in my opinion. AoCF feels like the devs looked at the characters' designs and power sets and drew inspiration from that, rather than their in-game spellcards. And I personally think it's very cool having two fighting games based on the same property showing the strengths of both approaches. I love how each games movesets are designed. But I feel like what Soku did when designing its moves is rarely discussed despite being insanely cool and showing incredible attention to detail.

PLEASE READ ALL
Hey there Puparoonies! With December fast approaching and a new 101 Dalmatian Street trending party set up for Jan 2- Jan 3, I figured I should make some ART! I've made an all new drawing grid just for Drawcember and made it vague so people can reuse it for whatever fandom they want! (A shout out back to me so I can see your art would be great if you do btw!)
HOW ITS GONNA WORK- I have made a grid of aesthetics that will be the theme of the piece. Basically I'll draw a characters in an outfit that matches the aesthetic provided. They will get a hat, a bag and a piece of jewellery and I'll try to make it match their personality if I can! (For example, if Dylan got the Space Aesthetic I'd go more sciency. For Dawkins, more sci-fi show. For Dolly, cool aliens!)
HOW DO WE PICK THE CHARACTERS TO AN AESTHETIC?! - I'll be holding polls to decide now that Tumblr can do that. We have an A team and a B team. So we'll be voting on two Aesthetics at a time. I'll post the Aesthetic and a description so you know what to expect.
WHAT ARE THE AESTHETICS?!
(Photos just grabbed off of google. All pictures here are not mine.)
Descriptions
(Please note that aesthetics can very from person to person on what they mean, and what they include! These are just my takes.)
Pastel- The pastel aesthetic is just as straightforward as its name, focusing on everything that's less saturated and in lighter hues. In particular, the word “pastel” refers to a soft and delicate shade of a color produced by adding more white.
Vaporwave- The Vaporwave aesthetic incorporates early Internet imagery, late 1990s web design, glitch art, and cyberpunk tropes, as well as anime, Greco-Roman statues, and 3D-rendered objects. VHS degradation is another common effect seen in vaporwave art.
Dark - Dark aesthetic covers a wide range of different things. If its dark and edgy , it can fall under this same system. Sometimes there's horror elements, but it can also be cutesy. All you really need is black, greys, and sparse uses of blood red and neon green. Some spikes can't hurt either!
Neon- The Neon aesthetic (Or Glowwave.) Is the use of bright, almost glowing colors on darker scenes. Reflective surfaces, sparkles and bright 'neon' pink can dominate this aesthetic.
Pastel Goth- Pastel Goth is an aesthetic that is a result of mixing goth or grunge with the sweet pastel elements of the kawaii aesthetic. Think if horror was cute, or cute was horrific if that's easier. Lots of black and pastel colours here.
Punk-Punk aesthetics determine the type of art punks enjoy, which typically has underground, iconoclastic, and satirical sensibilities. Punk can be as messy or minimalist as you want. It also tends to be more focused on the handmade, reused and recycled. Newspaper collages, safety pin, metal spikes, oh yeah!
Black and white- Contrast. That is the core of the Black and White aesthetic. Using only grayscale to convey detailed images. Tends to be fancy, simple and clean!
Rainbow- COLOUR, COLOUR, COLOUR! Rainbow is all colour all the time! With clear, fun shapes and fun splatters, rainbow is just... colourful fun.
Space- Spacecore is a type of aesthetic that is centered around astronomy, stars and planets. It can also be called astrocore or cosmic core. Spacecore uses lots of stars and planet type things in clothing or decor. Many spacecore aesthetics will have pictures of the sun, the moon or the stars.
Cottagecore- Cottagecore is an aesthetic that celebrates simple living, particularly in the countryside. It encourages a lifestyle rooted in traditional skills—like baking bread, gardening, and sewing your own clothes. Basically you live in a modern day Jeremiah Puddleduck book.
Pale- Palewave centers around muted and pale colors with a very relaxed and comfy vibe. Think light, easy, breezy and gentle designs. Nothing pops out right off the bat in this muted aesthetic.
Kidcore- Bright colours, cartoon designs, nostalgia, and fun! Its somewhat similar to rainbow, but you can't escape consumerism in this aesthetic usually! Toys, games, anything to do with just being a kid and enjoying life is included!
NOW WHAT?!
Now you vote in the polls! Just pick whichever character you want to see in the aesthetic listed. Please note that in order to draw this all in one month, I will be making the polls quick! The first one I'll have last a week, to help spread the word, but after that they will likely only last a day! That being said, each character will only be used ONCE. So once they're picked for an aesthetic, their off the voting board. Were you hoping a character would get a different one? Well don't worry! I may do this again, or you can try it yourself to! Just have fun!

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)
We’ve come a long way from 2000’s Dungeons & Dragons. Not only in terms of special effects but also in terms of performances, storytelling and most importantly, fun. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a blast. There’s humor, memorable characters brought to life by a great cast and an energy that makes you feel like the people on-screen are part of your circle of friends. It truly captures the feeling of a session played with your buddies.
After escaping from prison, bard Edgin Darvis (Chris Pine) and barbarian Holga Kilgore (Michelle Rodriguez) set out to find Edgin’s daughter, Kira (Chloe Coleman). She’s been deceived into believing her father has abandoned her. To prove he was imprisoned for “the right reasons”, Edgin has to retrieve a Tablet of Reawakening - trying and failing to steal one is what landed him in prison. With the tablet, he can bring his late wife back to life and his family will truly be whole. The nearest tablet is in a vault in Neverwinter. To get it, Edgin and Holga need to assemble a team.
This film’s got a great cast. Some names, you’ll recognize. Some, you won’t. Hugh Grant plays Forge Fitzwilliam, an ambitious con artist/rogue, Bradley Cooper has a small role as Holga’s ex-husband and Justice Smith is Simon Aumar, a half-elf sorcerer whose magical skills… are hit-and-miss. You probably won't be familiar with Sophia Lillis, who plays Doric, a tiefling shapeshifter, but she'll have your attention after this. It’s a pretty steep competition for who wears this campaign the best but I’m going to hand the award not to the ever charismatic Chris Pine or to Hugh Grant (equally charming) but to Michelle Rodriguez. Most recently, we've been seeing her in the “Fast & Furious” films, where the theme of "family" is emphasized endlessly. What that franchise built over 10 films, “Honor Among Thieves” manages to do in one. Holga and Edgin are not romantically involved but she’s basically Kira’s surrogate mother. Although she never says how much the little girl means to her (that would be very un-barbarian-like), you feel it, particularly during the film’s conclusion. This movie makes you care about its characters effortlessly. Think about that. This movie has all sorts of races and half-races, wild monsters, crazy locations, spells and other things that make it as different from our world as possible. Yet, the characters feel like real people, the kind you’d be delighted to follow on another adventure once this one wraps up.
The screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley and Michael Gilio (the first two also serve as the picture’s directors) has an episodic feel. I mean that in a good way. For our heroes to accomplish their main quest, they have to complete a bunch of smaller side quests, each leading into the next while revealing a conspiracy brewing in Neverwinter. The stakes build atop each other as the team learns to work as a unit and their tactics become increasingly inventive. There are plenty of jokes along the way but the film still takes itself seriously. By this, I mean that “Dungeons & Dragons” doesn’t make fun of itself or its audience. The humor comes from the world and its citizens. To them, all of this is normal. A magical spell allowing you to talk to the dead is neat but not mind-blowing, so it’s easy to take for granted. If you or I got a hand on that spell, we’d be super careful not to waste it. Them? Nah.
We’ve seen many movies over the years that have felt like a long campaign someone played and thought was so great it deserved to be turned into a movie. Rarely have any of them felt like an adventure you wanted to be involved with. This quest? by the time it’s over, you’ll feel like you were part of the ride all along. As a heist movie, it’s great. As a comedy, it has laughs to spare. As a fantasy film, it's got cool creatures, engaging lore and a smart take on its mythology. At the box office, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" didn’t make nearly enough money to earn itself a sequel, which is a real shame. For now, I guess I’ll settle for the after-credit scene. 7月30號 Day 19: Monkey Mountain and Art Museums
So today we had a free morning. But, this morning a group of us decided it would be fun to hike Monkey mountain. It was the one Yeh Laoshi recommended. We did not know what we were getting into. I originally thought it would be an easy hike because it was reccomended by Yeh Laoshi, but that was far from correct. Somehow becoming sort of the trip leader I led the group to the base of the mountain safely and we saw monkeys as soon as we got there. It was awesome and we continued on our way up the path that had nice wooden stairs and an easy path. But this is where it went bad. Google maps told me to make a left that didnt even look like an optional path. It was full of mud and rocks. It seemed like a path not many people take. But I wanted to reach the mountain peak so I, with the rest of the group following, decided to turn left. We instantly knew this was a mistake but continued on our way. Then after an hour of climbing we hit another fork in the road that was the same situation as last time and AGAIN I decided to take the "quick" hard path. It was muddy, steep, dangerous, and rocky. Their were even ropes on the side to help us climb up. But at the top their were SO many monkeys. After reaching that part of the mountain we decided to hurry back because we needed to leave soon. It took us about 2 hours to walk up the mountain(not even reaching the peak). And it took us an hour to get back down. On the way down we took the safe path and it was so nice. Brooke, Brev, Iris, and I went fast down and left the rest of the group to get home early. We were all so muddy from our shoes to our knees.
After that crazy adventure we took showers and went to the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. I thought this museum was pretty cool. My favorite floor was the top floor about running that I will further explain in my academic reflection. They also had a image of the Crucifixion of Jesus which I never would have thought to see here when I was first coming to Taiwan. But, I have learned so much on this trip and have seen that Christianity has been a part of the history of this nation, although not playing a big role. Then we went to the Alien Art Centre which to be honest, I was not too impressed by. I do not like modern art. To me it feels like it could be a cool decorative peice, but I don't know how much of it should belong in an art museum. This Alien Art museum mainly displayed aluminum and steel pieces that reflected light and used mirrors to create an illusion. it looked cool but I struggled trying to find meaning and purpose behind some of the artwork. Maybe that is on me. But after that museum, we went back to the hotel and I stayed there working on job applications for the rest of the night.
Academic reflection
Here I mainly want to talk about the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. Although there were many artworks that were very unique I want to focus on the top floor which was reserved for the artist Chuang Ming-Chi. She depicts the concept of Joyful running. In her eyes running connects the different parts of the body. The inspiriation for her exhibit was how the body interacting and its moving parts reflect aspects of society. This exhibit stood out to me because I like human movement and like to run. She slpits his exhibit in 4 sections titled "Run, Be Happy," "Window into the soul," "Marathon," and "Bodyscape:Extraordinary NBA".
Run, Be Happy
This art explores the connectedness of the body. It maximally displays the act of running. You can imagine how one aspect of the body will effect another aspect and how this can mirror how things are connected in life.
Window into the soul
Window to the soul centers its theme on the eyes. Chuang recognizes the unique difference between the to ways we experience the world. First, through the eyes. Our vision does not fully encompass our body, but it is able to sense the rest of the world outside of us. Chuang sees our eyes as a bridge between the physical and the psychological body. The eyes mainnly focus on the external. While the second way we experience the world is through our body. The unique thing about or body is that it can sense the whole external enviornment and internal enviornment. While the eyes cannot see themselves and can only see a portion of our body, the body has the ability of full self perception. The artwork is Chuang's perspective on society and self through this lense.
Marathon
In this exhibit, Chuang displayed a continuous artwork that spand the entire room wall. It displayed people running throughout life and running for a long time like a marathon
Bodyscape: Extraordinary NBA
Chuang uses semi-transparent fabrics that hang from the ceiling to create a presentation that shows the natural reflexes of humans. It is called Extraordinary NBA because it is supposed to create a basketball court scenario, causing the observer to dip and dodge through the field.
Until next time, 再見!

I've been thinking about old railway uniforms, and come to the conclusion that the textiles could be INTERESTING in a steampunk world.
If steam power is widespread and commonplace, that means that there's going to be plenty of steam piping and/or boilers around. A lot of it would probably be insulated for safety and efficiency, but that still probably means that a significant part of the population has to work around HOT steam-powered equipment fairly often. I don't think that EVERYONE would necessarily be going around in protective double denim, but I think there'd just be less demand for fabrics with worse heat resistance.
That probably means that textile innovation wouldn't focus so hard on inventing New materials; but rather on improving natural fabrics. With a focus on mechanical innovation, I think your steampunk inventor would have an ENORMOUS array of linkages available to them - for converting a continuous mechanical input to various complicated and adjustable movement patterns. I think that having a lot more workers in hot environments would also lead to wide-spread use of mechanical refrigeration.
I've seen a few videos of industrial fabric-handling machines - they seem to have a Lot spiky metal fingers making repetitive movements. I think a steampunk world would be GREAT at making those little fingers do different, interesting patterns of movement! I recently saw a Matt Parker video about a continuous lattice of 7 different directions of pencil, and there was a cool animation of its cross-section. Imagine the funky patterns you could weave with thread going in more than 2 directions - either coplanar with eachother or in 3d space. All the cool decorative patterns woodworkers can do with plywood and veneer - imagine that with thread!
One of the reasons that a lot of tradespeople wore denim was because the pattern of the fabric obscured oil and grease stains. Could you achieve the same effect with the above funky patterns if they were dense enough? SO many workwear fashion options. And if you've got hot steam on tap as well as decent refrigeration - heat treatment would be easy to incorporate. What sort of interesting features would they be heat-setting into their clothes?
And if you want to build any sort of articulated machine/robot with steam as the power source; you need something to carry that steam - a flexible, high-pressure, heat resistant pipe. That sounds like a braided hose to me - and if you're using more colourful metals than stainless steel, your steam plumbing could get COLOURFUL! You know how we have braided hoses with a red or blue strand for hot or cold water? JUST IMAGINE the industry standard colour coding schemes for different temperatures, pressures, and phases of various fluids they could have!
Colour coded flexible pressure hose reminds me of an electrical system - I wonder how a steampunk world would do mechanical calculation? Did someone say Convoluted Fluid Based Computers?? With advances in textiles, hoses, and ropes - surely at some point they'd invent wire or fibre-wrapped pressure vessels! (Just think what they'd do with carbon fibre!) A society with (admittedly probably building-sized) computers that's used to dealing with high-pressure fluids - SURELY they'd invent jet propulsion? Perhaps not for rockets or aircraft - imagine pressure-jet steampunk ships, submarines even.
Actually where I can see modern-ish chemical rocketry in a steampunk world is in miniature steam generators - either HO bipropellant (your choice of liquid or gaseous) or peroxide monopropellant. A vigorous chemical reaction with hot, fast H2O as the product - sounds like a (rather explosive) portable power source.
Anyways, TLDR i'd LOVE to see what technological innovations a steampunk world would have. What paths they'd go down for research.

Oooo, I see you started playing MC as well ^.^
My brain has been stuck in the game for a solid 2 months now, I've had so many ideas for building, so it's nice to see you enjoy it too <3
And to be fair, I do use creative mode for some things in my singleplayer world (cuz I wanna skip to the good parts lol). But I think if the potion lab I build in the survival multiplayer I'm in was what I had made in that singleplayer, a sad Grian looking for weakness potions would be delighted to stumble upon it pffttt
I have 2 double chests of finished potions, huge nether wart field, endless water source, 5 brewing stands, a whole double chest of at least 3 of every potion ingredient, pre-prepared awkward potions, 3stacks of bottles, blaze rods for days, you name it and it's there
The only issue is that all weakness potions I have ready are turned into splash potions, cuz I've never really had the desire to chug them myself (besides that one time I tired to get the "have every potion effect on all at once" achievement xdd)
~🌠
Ive been watching mcyt religiously for abt 2 yrs now (prior to that i had ZERO exposure to minecraft at all) and have joked before that its given me fucking minecraft shingles bc i never got my crafting vaccination as a kid. This thing has DESTROYED my braincells its just all minecraft blocks now, im obsessed
Ive also shamelessly used cheats in my first proper singleplayer world-- pretty much just to teleport to coords bc i get lost real easily and an hour of trying to navigate back with F3 is not my idea of a good time 😭😭😭😭 but with this new 1.20 singleplayer my plan is basically play on peaceful until i can get set up with a house and get a bit more practice with movement, then switch it to easy to practice killing mobs, then slowly ramp up the difficulty until i get to hard so i can cure zombie villagers. I watched p much the entirety of Pixlriffs' Survival Guide S2 around January after getting super sick and needed smth to entertain myself with, and now im following along with his S3 bc he is just the guy ever to me :] its taught me a lot abt the mechanics of minecraft which has been REALLY nice for a late learner 💀💀💀💀
YOUR POTION ROOM SOUNDS SO COOL!!!!! Thats so many ingredients,,,, i love your organization system that sounds so nice. Ive found my favorite thing in minecraft is literally inventory management SKDNEKDJD hermits beware i am the anti-chest monster guy<3 but yeah gods can u imagine if Grian had used splash potions 😭😭😭 he wouldve dropped SO FAST, RIP
How do you usually plan your builds??? I got myself a creative flatworld to make stuff in, but ive found that idea i had with taking a screenshot of the area and drawing on it has REALLY helped me put some concrete visuals to the ideas ive had which has been SUPER helpful. I just finished building the silhouette of my future lakehouse the other day (via the Pixlriffs stone method) so now im just messing around with block palettes to see how i wanna incorporate the cherry wood :] im super excited to build it for real in survival!!!!
#shouting speaks#asks#minecraft#mcyt#cherrybee hollow#pixlriffs has become my automatic feel good youtuber tbh#ive pavloved myself on that man's voice. spent a week sick out of my mind and watching nothing but his vids now im attached#i love his sense of humor he comes across as so serious and then suddenly he's saying smth completely off the wall#guy who frogboils his viewers into thinking they have a reasonable man on their hands only to blink and realized he shrinkwrapped a mountain#out of sheer spite#your honor. i love him#he just like me fr#long post#txt

12/10-11/2023
sunday - monday
i did work on music, but,
i hit a really annoying snag, one of the (*) i used for the new plugins i got, which i only used 2 of, and sparingly i feel like, has gone wrong, so every few seconds it outputs a hissing noise instead of effecting the input. really annoying. i'm trying to figure out which songs i've really used that on, i don't think many? we'll see. i guess i can check now if i'm using it on one of the guitar sounds i really like. i think maybe. but also that might just be vst3 things and have nothing to do w/ that sound. that would be a blessing. i know i have one really overt use that i feel worried about losing what it does, i'll have to figure out some other fucked up feedback sound for that i suppose. that could be interesting though, i think i could find something really interesting there, maybe.
so far like one other song, in a nonessential way, easy to just cut that out and use another plugin in its place, and then forego the transient shaper (sucks but what can i do, it was probably totally inaudible anyways, maybe the mix will be better with the bass not getting that particular boost too?).
found another, sadly i think it was maybe more important but idk, still able to get a sound i liked out of something else, it's just sad it's not as easy, which is really what i liked about that plugin.
yeah, it does sound good.
i can probably stop checking for the rest of the night, and then see more tomorrow. i am also looking at another plugin that seems similar and is free. i should see if i can scoop up others like this as well. bit editors specifically. they're probably not actually doing bit editing/that precise a kind of crushing but it's interesting to hear, i really like it because it can do a really sharp thing, depending on which bits you fuck with. the one i found seems like it can do roughly what i want it to do (but no feedback function which rlly sucks). i hope they figure out whatever went wrong with the thingy.
otherwise i mixed 2 songs today, it went well i think. i listened to the others i mixed and some are a little thin, vocals need to get more range put back in which is easy to solve, and then what, one song has drums that are too loud over all, one song has a snare that's too sharp i think. other than that, idk.
the plugin is like, really weird in ways but i can get it to do what i want (sooo thankful it can just be sharp and annoying).
today we did see friends, it was a long day with them, kinda, time went by fast. because of the shooting anyone with a unlv id could get into this thing we have in vegas, called omegamart. it's like, i dunno, i don't want to say lame, it's like edm bro-core stuff though. but it's like cute and some of the things they had in there were really cool, i think, one room had this strobe that was actually a flash that was connected to a weird camera setup, and it was taking pics and projecting that on the walls in step w/ each flash. that was a good room. they had a pretty chillout room, with these etched glass panels, some ambient. they had some cute interactive things. i thought it would be awful but it was honestly a positive experience. they even had a music thing anyone could go mess with, a couple actually. letting people make music is always nice.
and i just spent a while messing with an old guitar sound that used that plugin, and put the new one in, in a way that hopefully satisfies me. anyways, i am too tired, i wanted to sleep earlier tonight but didn't. so:
byebye!!!!!!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can stress cause high cholesterol?
Ans: Yes, one possible cause of high cholesterol is stress. Stress causes the body to release chemicals like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones can increase the amount of cholesterol, especially "bad" LDL cholesterol that the liver produces.
Stress can also result in unhealthy coping strategies like eating poorly and exercising less, which can raise cholesterol levels.
2. Can high cholesterol be genetic?
Ans: Yes, there may be a genetic component to high cholesterol. A genetic condition known as familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) causes high blood cholesterol levels.
Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is unable to be eliminated from the bloodstream by the body in people with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) due to a gene mutation inherited from one or both parents.
3. How long does it take to lower cholesterol?
Ans: Lowering cholesterol takes quite a few times. While medication can produce more immediate changes, changes in lifestyle may take weeks or months to show results. For specific advice or best home remedy for high cholesterol, speaking with a medical expert is necessary.
4. Can dupixent cause high cholesterol?
Ans: Evidence exists to suggest that some patients taking the medication Dupixent (dupilumab), which is prescribed for eczema and asthma, may experience an increase in cholesterol.
People's reactions may differ, yet, making it critical to regularly check cholesterol levels while undergoing treatment. Check the advice and information of a medical doctor for specific information.
5. Does Xeljanz cause high cholesterol?
Ans: Yes, a higher risk of high cholesterol levels has been linked to the medication Xeljanz (tofacitinib), which is used to treat certain autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Patients taking Xeljanz should talk to their doctor about the possible risks and benefits of the medication, as regular monitoring of cholesterol levels is important.

[image description: an sac webcomic page. there’s a close up of parker writing something on a small business card, the edge of which is absorbing blood from the bite wound on his hand, then another close up of him handing the blood splattered business card to lewis- the card now can be seen to read “theodore p-” with a phone number and unknown cut off text. written on the card is the address “504 insidiae st, s-” the rest is cut off. lewis looks at the card and says “im still going to leave.” while moon frowns at parker. she turns and says “alright. habibi, would you mind?” the last part is directed to split, who smiles and gives a thumbs up. the next panel abruptly changes scene, split stands in the middle, staring stright ahead with his hands on the shoulders of lewis and jade, lewis on the left side looking back, wide eyed, still holding the business card, with 6 question marks around his head. jade on the right side seems more suprised than confused, with a ?! over her. she also is cradling in her arms plenty to various snacks in matching pink-and-blue heart themed glittery packaging. end id]
happy pride month, yall!! i want to make something for pride but idk what yet.

025: Spark the Electric Jester 2
CANON FIRE is made possible by the generous contributions of readers like you. Support more writing like this on Patreon. Thank you!
Spark the Electric Jester 2 is a loud, confident, almost cocky response to several conversations. Cribbing from turn of the century Sonic titles for its foundation, it synthesizes them with ideas from Spark 1 to develop something unapologetic and fresh. Mechanics, stage gimmicks and aesthetics are all familiar, but the way they're reconfigured, remixed, and built upon make it clear developer Lakefeperd has a philosophy for how a 3D platformer should be built. Spark 2 isn't developed enough to communicate the nuances of that philosophy, but it forms a compelling core for the argument.
Spark 2 immediately lets you know it understands what good movement feels like. Its momentum mechanics are nuanced and exploitable, with key moves allowing you to quickly adjust your speed and direction to keep from flying out of control.
The game’s centerpiece is the dash. Short and quick to recover, dashing gets you up to speed quickly on the ground, and extends your airtime to cross gaps and easily reposition. Crucially, it has a low top speed, so spamming it will prevent you from gaining real momentum, encouraging you to find a proper line through the stage, and acting as a soft air brake at higher levels of play.
Supplementing the standard dash is the Jester Dash, which pulls double duty as an emergency brake and momentum starter. Charging the Jester Dash builds up a huge speed boost, halting your momentum and gravity until released. It can work in a pinch as an impromptu second air dash, but is more effective when used to build momentum on the ground.
Down Dash gives you a way to reposition vertically, fast falling to cut a jump arc short and refresh your air actions. Crucially, you don't lose momentum, so you can bound between platforms without breaking your flow.
The combination of dashes can initially feel overwhelming or even redundant, especially since there aren't any proper tutorials to explain their nuances. None are mandatory, thankfully, so you can get through most of the game with well timed air dashes and double jumps. These secondary moves instead give you more control over your speed and air movement, giving you faster paths through the stages on a replay.
Putting these moves together can let you reach near uncontrollable speeds, but with so many options to control your speed and acceleration, a misjudged jump or turn is easy to recover from. Stages offer alternative paths when you do slip, with spiraling metropolitan centers bursting into multi-tiered roads that cross each other and rise into extended loops.
If there's a weakness to the stage design it's that it doesn't give you much incentive to explore it. Spark 2's levels often give you small sandboxes to play around in, but detours often lead to dead ends or inconsequential collectibles, forcing you to walk back through empty spaces on your return. It works best when blazing through the stages, leaving other roads for the replay.
That breakneck momentum is unfortunately muddied a bit by the return of the parry, which forms a major pillar of the action this time. With good timing, not only can you negate enemy attacks and build a damage multiplier, you can even parry stage hazards and barrel right through them. As cool as it is to parry through a grid of lasers or a train, it makes it too easy to bypass huge chunks of a stage, and avoid using the whole moveset given to you.
Combat is hit particularly badly, often devolving into using the homing attack to close in and mashing a combo, only pausing to parry any retaliation. Despite having several forms with alternative movesets and combos, the core combat loop never changes, so most movement and attack options end up redundant. Outside of bosses, there isn't any reason to engage in combat either--if they're not stepping stones for your homing attack you're better off avoiding enemies entirely.
Regular enemies never have enough health to require you to keep up the damage multiplier combos rack up, but boss fights can take major swings and both directions because of it. The system is essentially balanced around never taking a hit, so good parry timing ends bosses almost prematurely, and missing the timing makes them drag on. Even with a decent variety of combos and alternative forms, there's no incentive to use them.
Forms in general are severely underutilized in Spark 2. Spark 1's forms had definite tiers of utility, but most were fun enough that I'd happily swap to them to explore different movesets. In Spark 2 I rarely used anything but the jet form, since it gave me an extended air dash, and had a strong attack that hit in a wide radius around me.
That said, when freed from the combat arenas and given the space to run, Spark 2's basic movement alone can carry the entire game. On my first playthrough I spent tons of time within stages simply following alternative paths, or attempting to make a jump to a distant platform, just to see if I could. The sheer scale of environments needed to give variety to a platformer this fast means that when you slow down there's an incredible amount of work to appreciate.
Given you'll only have a few seconds with each area, the amount of detail put into the stages is astonishing. Even moreso when you consider it's largely the work of one person, and a few long time collaborators. With so many unsuccessful attempts at recreating that 3D Sonic magic--even by Sonic Team themselves--nailing the vibe and movement on the first try is a triumph in itself. In the context of its original release, Spark 2 was an almost singular experience that delivered style and vibes I'd only caught glimpses of in other, incomplete, projects.
Today, Spark 2’s biggest problem is that its shortcomings are glaring in the light of its successor, a quiet sequel casting a tremendous shadow…

Carbide Bit Drill by Jaibros: A Complete Guide
Carbide Bit Drill by Jaibros: A Complete GuidePrecision, toughness, and efficiency build the entire success of most projects in drilling. If you're into construction, manufacturing, or even DIY home improvements, what you need is the right tool to perform the task at hand. Some of the most reliable and versatile tools in this domain include carbide drill bits, and Jaibros is one brand that has made a name for delivering high-quality carbide bit drills. Let us now take a detailed look into the carbide bit drill by Jaibros: its features, benefits, applications, and what make it outstanding compared to others.
What is a Carbide Bit Drill?
A carbide bit is a drill bit made of tungsten carbide, a compound that will bond tungsten and carbon together to make something very hard and heat-resistant. It is actually almost as hard as diamond, so carbide bits are particularly useful for drilling into harder materials such as metal, stone, ceramic, and certain composites. Carbide bits are regarded as rugged and, due to this fact, retain their sharpness for longer periods compared to the steel or High-speed steel (HSS) drilling bits.
Key Features of Carbide Bit Drills
Hardness and Durability: The first primary advantage of carbide bits is extreme hardness. Carbide bits are so hard that they are almost immune to wear and can maintain very sharp cutting edges even after prolonged use with hard materials.
Heat Resistance: Carbide can sustain high temperatures generated during drilling, especially during fast drilling speeds. This characteristic reduces the tendencies of heat causing damage or warping of a drill bit, thereby making carbide bits ideal for industrial use.
High Precision Drilling: Being sharp, carbide bits will provide clean cuts without any frequent chipping and cracking of the materials, hence useful for industries of high precision engineering like aerospace and car manufacture.
Versatility in Working with Numerous Materials: Carbide drill bits are very versatile, working well on a vast array of materials-from stainless steel, cast iron, to aluminum, tile, masonry, and even hardened steel.
Longer Lifespan: Although carbide bits are pretty pricey compared to others, the fact that they can last longer in the long run makes them a cheaper alternative. Many more drilling operations can be achieved than most compared when used with the proper drilling techniques and coolings .
Advantage Jaibros: What's the advantage of having a Jaibros carbide bit drill?
In the world of tools and hardware, Jaibros is a company name that bears saying. Its name is associated with high-performance products. Their carbide bit drills are no exception. Here's why Jaibros carbide bits make them distinctive.
1. High-quality manufacturing
Jaibros uses advanced manufacturing processes and high-grade material in making carbide bits that show best performance. Tungsten carbide quality used by Jaibros for its bits is of premium grade, which will ensure durability and consistency in the bit. The manufacturing process makes sure that bits produced are balanced with zero vibrations that will result in accuracy.
2. Precision Engineering
Jaibros pays more emphasis to precision. Every carbide bit is constructed to provide highest cutting performance with reduced wear and tear. The drill bits cutting edge geometry and flute design are created to reduce friction, thus allowing smooth and easy drilling.
3. Applications on a broad scale
Jaibros carbide bit drills are ideal for professionals as well as DIYers. Their versatility makes them the go-to product in all industries that range from construction, automotive, aerospace, and metal working to drilling through reinforced concrete or sensitive ceramic tile, Jaibros bits deliver the reliability and precision needed for getting the job right.
4. Cost Effectiveness
Though pricier than other types of bits, Jaibros sales set these at competitive prices without losing on the quality front. The long lifespan and superior performance of the bits make it worthwhile for frequent and heavy-duty users.
5. Availability and Support
The products of Jaibros are sold through various different channels of retailing, from online to local physical shops. Furthermore, the company ensures that support for the users is high class. Thus, questions and issues regarding how to use and maintain these products along with troubleshooting will be resolved.
Applications of Carbide Bit Drills by Jaibros
Carbide bit drills are very essential in a number of sectors, and the same goes for Jaibros carbide bits. Some of the most frequently used applications include the following:
1. Metalworking
Accuracy is accuracy in metalwork. Jaibros carbide bits are capable of drilling stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel. These are usually hard to drill, but carbide bits are the job because of their hardness and resistive nature of wear.
2. Structure
Professionals working in the construction sector often are compelled to drill hard surfaces, such as concrete, masonry, and stone. For all these, a Jaibros carbide bit is indispensable for installing anchors, screws, and fittings.
3. Aerospace and Automotive Manufacturing
Both the aerospace and the automobile industries have much more precise works, especially in dealing with metallic and composite materials. The strength and sharpness of Jaibros carbide bits ensure accurate holes which are considered critical in engine assembly, frame, and other important components.
4. Tile and Glass Work
Delicate materials like ceramic tiles or glass require a bit that can provide clean, precise cuts with no cracking or chipping. For this, Jaibros carbide bits are the ideal choice for control and sharpness in handling fragile surfaces.
5. DIY Home Projects
Carbide Drill Bits - Ease and Versatility for Tough Home Improvement
Many do-it-yourself enthusiasts choose to take on home improvement projects that are considered to be challenging. In completing these projects, what they are in need of is a reliable set of carbide drill bits that can penetrate and work through various types of jobs. Jaibros bits provide all forms of versatility and durability necessary to complete various tasks such as placing shelving or running through concrete walls.
How to Use and Maintain Your Carbide Drill Bits
In order to get most out of your Jaibros carbide bit drill, the right usage and maintenance are very crucial. Here are some tips:
Use the Right Speed: Carbide bits work best at lower speed when drilling through hard materials. High speeds can lead to overheating and premature wear. Always check specifications of material to know the right speed.
Use Coolant: Drilling through metals or other heat-sensitive materials may extend the life of your carbide bit if coolants are used as it reduces heat buildup.
Consistent Pressure: Avoid over-pressure during drilling as it can either break or wear it out. Just let your carbide work on them, applying consistent pressure.
Proper Storing: Upon finishing their use, your carbide bits should be cleaned, then stored in a dry area to prevent corrosion from setting in on them. While carbide itself does not rust, the tool holder or shank can if it's left in a wet environment.
Keep and Sharpen When Necessary. Carbide bits eventually become dull. You can hone them with a carbide specific hone or take your bits to service people.
Conclusion
Jaibros carbide bit drills will do the trick if you need the strongest, most durable, high-quality drill bit that can drill through anything. These hard drills, resistant to heat and of high precision, make all the difference between
