It's actually so sad to see more and more people in your country becoming far right, hateful and either violent or a violence apologist.

Holoctober Day 8 - Haunted
The advent girls get roped into a ghost-hunting adventure with Shiori. Mayhem ensues. Another short comedic piece, doing a lot less gore than I expected this year. Buckling down for multiple stories today. Determined to catch back up!
“Thanks for coming with me on my ghost hunting stream guys!” All of advent was driving down the road in a large van full of ghost hunting tech. “Wait, is that what this is?” Nerissa sounded disappointed. “You told me this was a sleepover!”
Fuwawa popped her head over the backseat, “yobai!?”
Mococo appeared beside her “No Fuwawa, no yobai!”
Bijou added “Stop trying to Jaslight us Fuwawa. The Adventrix told us what that word means.”
Shiori chuckled, “Since your family guards the gates to hell, does that mean you Gaslight, Gatekeep and-”
“Don’t try to distract us from the fact you lied about a sleepover Shiori.” Nerissa interrupted.
“I didn’t lie to anyone. Fuwamoco know exactly where we’re going. Bibou was already passed out here cause she was sleep-deprived after a 12 hour stream and thought it was her bedroom, and I told you it's a sleepover because it is! We’re staying overnight. It's the best kind of sleepover even. The kind that's at a Murder House!” They pulled into the driveway of a decrepit looking old house with a sign in front that designated it simply as “The Murder House.”
“Its called that because of all the people who keep getting murdered here.” Shiori explained as they parked.
Nerissa rolled her eyes. “I never would have guessed. Fuwamoco you knew about this? I thought you hated scary things?” Fuwawa and Mococo’s expressions grew serious. Fuwawa declared, “Its training! We’re gonna show these ghosts how rough and tough demon guard dogs can be!”
“And if we spend 40 hours total in haunted locations we get our Specter Stopper certification from Cerberus school,” Mococo added.
They spent a few hours setting up equipment and trying to get a response out of the ghosts. Other than a few temperature dips and one moment where Fuwamoco were taking turns asking questions to a spirit box and Nerissa snuck up on them and whispered “behind you,” which had them huddling in the nearest closet for twenty minutes, almost nothing happened. They gathered in the living room, precisely at midnight. It looked like something out of the 1890s with fragile old rocking chairs and dusty beige carpets bearing archaic patterns. After a fruitless Ouija board session where Nerissa nudged the planchette towards the lewdest answers her rather vivid imagination could think of, Shiori huffed in frustration. “Where are they? They’re being so dull! Since when are murder ghosts shy?”
“Good instincts honestly, we are three demons, a rock with emotion lasers and a freaky, unhinged goth with unspecified magic powers.” Nerissa chimed.“
Shiori rolled her eyes. “Nerissa, I’m not going to degrade you in public just because you say something nice about me. I’m not your prom date.”
Nerissa shivered in place. “Tasukaru.”
“Bibou…do you think you could give them a little burst of anger, stir things up?” Shiori askled.
“Okay!”
“Wait, Bibou!” Fuwamoco and Nerissa screamed together, but it was too late, her gems glowed a bright red and the whole house took on that hue. After a few minutes her gems turned back and the room returned to its normal hue. “Huh, guess that was a dud. Let me hit em again.” Before she could, they all felt a dark presence enter the room, and dozens of knives floated in from the kitchen.
“Why do they have so many knives? Isn’t this place like a tourist trap now?” The knives oriented towards them slowly before launching with incredible speed. Fuwamoco leapt in front of Shior and Nerissa, batting away knives with their claws. “Protect!”
Bijou was off to the side, several knives flanked around and charged her, but they impacted on her skin with a slight “ting” sound and bounced off, some shattering. She giggled, “stop, that tickles!”
Eventually the onslaught stopped, the ammunition depleted. Fuwamoco turned to the rest of the girls. “We did it! We’re saved!” Mococo cheered. “We did such a good job didn’t we Shiori?” Fuwawa added, and both demon guard dogs angled their heads for headpats, not noticing in the candlelight that Shiori’s eyes had turned to darkest obsidian. She opened her mouth and glowing green ectoplasm sprayed out, drenching the dog-girls. “Shiori’s not here right now!” A voice much deeper than Shiori’s declared. On seeing the state of Fuwamoco Nerissa fell to her knees, crying out “Noooo! That should have been me!”  The twins screamed and ran around in circles looking for something to hide under, but eventually froze, they looked to each other in silent agreement and stalked towards Shiori with grim determination.
Mococo grabbed Shiori’s collar, lifting her into the air, and started slapping her. “You have to fight it Shiori, don’t let the murder ghost win!”
Nerissa said, “nooo, that should also be me!”
Fuwawa grabbed Shiori from Mococo “Moco-chan, can’t you see shes already dead!” She stabbed Shiori with her demon claws, continuously repeating the action. “The ghost is trying to devour her soul! We have to stop him!”
Mococo tackled her to the ground. “Are you crazy. That's our friend!” Fuwawa tried to fight free, “Our friend is dead Moco-chan! Shes never coming back!”
“Actually I’m already back.” Shiori stood back up, dusting herself off.
“Oh.” Fuwawa said. Mococo gave her an I told you so look, and Fuwawa bowed her head towards Shiori. “I’m sorry Shiori, I guess that was a pretty big misunderstanding.”
“Aw, its ok, you were just trying to help.” Shiori patted Fuwawa’s head placatingly. “Besides you kind of did, it could have taken me hours to kick out that hitchhiker but he definitely wasn’t emotionally prepared to be stabbed that many times. Amateur.”
Nerissa looked at Shiori’s now significantly more porous torso. “Um, Shiorin, is that gonna be ok? You’re human aren’t you?”
Shiori looked down too. “I’m only human-adjacent, but yeah…it could be an issue if I don’t take care of it. Guess the sleepover’s canceled.” They started to walk back to the van. “Maybe the real yobai was the friends we made along the way” Shiori said.
“No!” chorused most of the girls.
“Yobai!” Cheered Fuwawa, tail wagging rapidly.

We are... together ..! In reality 😯
I still cannot believe it sometimes.. even if its 4 months already !! Yes since the second of October.
I was in Cyprus.. and felt again this very.. familiar jealousy feeling.. when one of our common female friend was asking him some random questions just to talk with him because of boredom.. also asking some relationships-related topics and he was also joking honestly with her, also saying something like he has some “needs” or sth..
I went running and felt this.. yes very many times already felt - burning feeling in my stomach.. this heat and pain. Sadness- disappointment-anger all mixed, until I was running and crying alone in desert. Just the whole city where our hotel was, ended suddenly and I was alone next to highway and no trees, no green spot, just yellow sandy ground everywhere I look. I turned back. And then it was clear: I still care 100% about him, even if I had this short “other guy” topic just recently. And it was clear that... my attempts to kill the love.. had failed. My heart and body still loved him. So. I decided, there is no other ways, I should relax and let this all happen.
The hurt for my kids and husband, for my parents and his parents - this was already done. Now they are healing. Yes this will be hard at the beginning. With him. Yes it will be hard in the future too. Yes when publishing everything- people may tell us.. jokes and.. maybe some really is disappointed. We should just face it and live it through. It is all hard. And maybe it doesn´t work out. Maybe he lies to me. And I will find it out and I will get hurt, maybe this all ends with the huge explosion. But then - I just- cry again, tell about it to my sisters, who say good things to me, I go running and cry again and.. then I will stand up again. Maybe everything this happens, but- I have to do it because.. there is no other way.
So! Now we enjoy 🥰 ! Yes sometimes the happy feeling is this strong that I again feel the fear that.. it will all end or its is not real or.. But.. I study to - just stay and enjoy in peace 😊😊
And he is... even more beautiful... even more cooler, smarter, funnier than before! He is... wow.. really.. so normal person 😲. Yes I can feel insulted if he criticizes something about me because.. I am... still a bit scared that... if I am bad at something.. but maybe this “other girl” who has been fulgurating all the time between us.. maybe she is better than me.. or.. as she said she is starting to “have some more friendship” with him or sth.. that was scary to hear.. also she has written in the public group like a “joke” that she is not trying something I dont remember “because it will cause their break up immediately” or sth where I understood she is still a danger.. but.. he tells me relax and not to be afraid. Yes I should try to let all controlling free!
Haha we have a funny thing - well I have had it since I was born- that I wish some wish while blowing out the candle or saying with somebody exactly the same line together accidentally or when you see the star falling. I do it all the time and ... I have always the same 1 wish... And he says he thinks he knows what my wish is 🥰 and.. it is also his wish? But yes.. we will not say that out loud. But yes.. I think we both know 💕.

“Why is it that you always seem to be on my case the most?” Your frustration was obvious and your patience dissipated, feet shuffling in their spot as you finally turned to face him. “You never nag Isabel this much.”
For a moment, Levi didn’t respond, scanning your body for injuries. After asserting that you were indeed okay, he stepped over the unconscious man who laid on the ground, jaw set in anger as he walked forwards until he was so close you had to tilt your head slightly to keep eye contact.
Your snappy behavior was uncharacteristic. It only fueled his temper. The raven shook his head in disapproval, trying to keep his anger in check as you glared at him defiantly.
“Isabel doesn’t make such careless mistakes,” he pointed out coldly. “You almost got yourself hurt, (Y/N)! What would you have done if I hadn’t shown up to cover your ass?”
The both of you stood there in silence for several minutes, gazing at each other and listening to your uneven breathing. His face, unlike so many others, never really did reveal everything he was thinking. Feeling. You were dared to search for something else in his steady gaze besides disappointment, but for once, you could not tell what you saw. It was infuriating, humiliating, and hurtful.
“Sometimes I wonder if there’s even a brain inside your thick fucking skull.”
His harsh words didn’t normally cut you, but this time you flinched, looking away from Levi as all the fight drained out of you.

Wearing your jewelry out at night was a careless mistake, that you could admit. What was hard to swallow was the fact that you had just been mugged, and nearly assaulted, yet all Levi could do was find the time to scold you, not seeming to care at all if you were shaken up by what happened.
It didn’t scare you that the other man’s hands found their way onto your skin. It didn’t scare you that something bad could have happened had Levi not knocked him out. You weren’t afraid of any of it; you were afraid that all the raven-haired man could see you for were your mistakes.
“So you think I’m a burden then?” you asked, choking up.
Your change in tone caught Levi’s attention. You suddenly looked smaller, and more vulnerable than the last time he looked at you. He sighed again, shaking his head softly. It took all your strength not to shy away from his fingers as they threaded through your hair, stopping on your shoulder and tugging you against him. You let Levi do it nonetheless, knowing this was his way of saying sorry; knowing this was his way of saying: “I’m tough on you because I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you.”
You pressed your ear against his beating heart, letting the sound soothe you.
“No, brat. I don’t think that. Let’s just go home, and forget about it,” his voice was more gentle this time.
You sniffled and nodded, chest bursting as Levi placed a feather light kiss on the top of your head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You never thought you’d miss the Underground. Especially when taking into consideration the miserable days after Levi, Isabel, and Farlan took that fateful deal, and were forced to leave you behind.
Your feelings on the matter were conflicted, of course, but you were relieved and happy that the people who mattered most had such a big opportunity. They didn’t need to see you crying, nor hear about how scared you were to be by yourself. Each one deserved better than that, so you put on a brave face as they reassured you over and over that they’d come back. You beamed as brightly as you could, sending them off with words of encouragement as you continued fighting off the lingering feeling of dread as they left.
You didn’t want to be a nuisance. Never wanted to be the reason they’d hold themselves back.
Although he didn’t show it, Levi took it the hardest. He implored you to stay alive, in a scolding tone that he only ever used when he was worried. You could hold your own, but weren’t a fighter like the other three. The stern male had only ever been thankful of your gentle nature in the past, surprised to be cursing it now that he couldn’t protect you. But for him, you’d try your hardest, knowing that with a little faith and patience, you could be reunited in the future.
The goodbye had been bittersweet, your lips slotting against his for the very first time. In a way, the way he kissed you seemed more like a promise than a farewell. His arms were wrapped around you all night, warmth lulling you to a sleep that otherwise, would never have been able to claim you.
Parting afterwards the following morning became all the more difficult because of it.
When Levi pulled a few strings with his newfound respected status and got the military to sponsor your citizenship, you were over the moon. Becoming a soldier was the last thing you expected out of your life, but wherever Levi and the others went, you would gladly follow. You felt at home again, throwing your arms around the man for the first time in months and giggling at the fact that while he accepted the gesture and patted your head awkwardly, his lack of affection never changed.
But you were quickly learning that the ideological existence that lived right above your head was just an illusion. You came only to find your friends dead, and Levi more closed off to you than he’d ever been before. Up here, things were far from perfect, and as time went on, you instead yearned for the past if only to appreciate it better a second time around. And although things slowly got better, life was not yet finished throwing its hardships your way.
The last person you had left slowly became out of reach, as time apart inevitably distanced the two of you and gave someone else the opportunity to fill that hole in his heart.
Reality, you found, was much crueler under the blue of the sky.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You don’t have to deny it, Levi. I know you better than anyone. I see the way you look at her,” you whispered, wringing your hands together in a feeble attempt to rid of the painful churn in your stomach. “I see it because you used to look at me that way.”

It was admirable, at least, the effort you put in to keep your voice even. But the silence that followed those broken words was pitiful. The silence made it even more difficult to meet the gaze of the man in front of you. Levi had every opportunity to deny the truth of your burning statement; to bring you back into his arms and reaffirm his love like he used to. Like he would if maybe things were different.
You knew, he had no desire to do that now. Instead, the Captain’s eyes screwed shut and a light sigh escaped his perfect lips, the warmth of it tingling your skin. It was nostalgic, almost, being alone with Levi like this. His face was nearer to yours then it had been in months, enough so that you could make out every tiny detail. The irony of it seemed mocking: for once, you couldn’t bear to look at him. Not that you needed to, with every feature of his sure to forever haunt your memory.
But now all you could see were the interactions they had. Your vision consisted of watching as their bond and understanding grew. It was created in such a short amount of time, but hardly unpredictable with the amount of time Levi and Petra spent together. Even if Levi himself had not realized it, for you, it was plain as day. You knew him better than anyone. Could see that there was no pain in Levi’s eyes when he looked at her. Afterall, unlike you, Petra wasn’t a painful reminder of the past.
Despite his physical closeness, this was the most detached you’ve ever felt from the male. The space between you was strange and unfamiliar. Lonely and cold.
At your words, he exhaled through his nostrils.

“I would never be unfaithful, (Y/N). I never have been,” he spoke firmly, in that certain tone of speaking only he could manage. “I promised I would never leave you.”
A tear spilled down your cheek, despite your best brave face. It was too much to handle, even for a calloused girl like you. Because despite everything, Levi had always been there. It seemed scary to have life any other way.
Said man took your hand gently, handling it like porcelain. It wasn’t until his skin touched yours that you realized your fingers were shaking, and your facade was crumbling. His gesture was another reminder of what once was. The familiarity of his skin a testament to all the time spent simply existing with one another.
How did it come to this?
“A lot has changed since then, it seems,” you laughed softly, for once pulling away from his touch. “I bet you can’t even look at me without thinking about those two, huh?”
You never once thought it was his fault. Even if you told him that, you knew Levi would always take accountability. Knew he would blame himself for taking Isabel and Farlan away from you. You should have seen this coming. It was inevitable that your love would be tainted, and that he’d find it somewhere else, even if it was unintentional.
“(Y/N), wait—“ there was a small panic that awoke in the raven’s steely eyes that only those who truly knew him would be able to detect.

“—You know how I feel about you, don't you? I want to be the one who you'd wake up next to every morning. The person you'd trust enough to spill all your secrets to, the one you want to hold close, the one who would make it hurt too much to ever let go. I want to be the person who can make you smile, or laugh until you can't breathe. Your first and last thought of the day, and the one you wonder about even when they’re not around.”
You swallowed a whimper, fists clenched at your sides as your restraint came undone. It was all you’d ever wanted since you were small and starving and Levi was all you had to hold onto.
"But more than anything I want you to be happy. You deserve it.”
And because that’s how much I love you.
“I’d spent the rest of my life with you, if you asked me to,” the stoic Captain stated, as simply and mindlessly as if reciting the weather.
You knew it was true. You also knew better than to let your mind wander to that fantasy, or to let a world come into fruition in which you stopped Levi from pursuing his happiness; held back simply because his loyalty knew no bounds. You refused to be that selfish. You’d rather die a miserable death, a thousand times over. Rather endure this anguish for as long as it resided in your heart then watch his indifference turn to hatred as years of a one-sided relationship droned on and on.
He doesn’t want you anymore.
“I know, Levi.” You paused for a long moment. “Petra's wonderful. I don't hate either of you, I want you to remember that."
You wrapped your arms around yourself, trying desperately to forget the feeling of Levi’s lips on your skin, your face against his chest. The warmth between your ribs or the butterflies in your stomach, or the fireworks of passion that only he could make you feel. Tried to forget the rare but special, secret words of affirmation only your ears got to hear, and the goosebumps they’d send across your skin.
You wanted to erase it all, if only to make it easier to walk away with the knowledge you’d never feel any of that again.
It was pathetic.
There wasn’t anything left to be said. So with the task near impossible, looked at your lover, your best friend, your rock, your Levi, and turned away.
You only managed three steps before a voice followed you and a hand closed around your wrist.
“Is this what you want?” He sounded apathetic, but you knew better. His underlying worry only made the pain feel worse.
“I don’t know.” At the very least, you were honest.
"Will I see you again?"
As adaptable as he was, Levi was never a fan of the unconventionality that was “change.” He was never surprised, quick to go with the flow, even if he preferred certainty and steadiness.
This conversation, though, was one he never expected.
"Of course," you forced a tiny smile, knowing it was more convincing than it felt. "I just need a breather. I'll be back for dinner." The words tasted bitter in your mouth.
That was the first and only lie you'd ever tell Levi Ackerman, having handed in your resignation papers to Erwin just yesterday.
Forgive me, Levi.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snow fluttered down from the sky, coating the local shops and roofs of buildings with a thick, white blanket. Merchants and store owners alike grumbled their disapproval, bustling to sweep the front of their shops. The air was crisp and biting, yet you relished in the feeling and absorbed the atmosphere. Drunk garrison soldiers loitered around merrily, cheeks flushed from alcohol, catching the flakes in their hair and occasionally slipping on hidden ice in their drunken stupor. It made you chuckle softly, the residences of Wall Roses’ inconvenience the source of your contentment-- this was your first time seeing snow, the real thing a thousand times better than anything you read about in any book.
You strolled through the marketplace, a basket holding bread, dried meats, cheese, and several fruits resting in the crook of your elbow. Your coin purse felt lighter than it had that morning, yet you carried on nonetheless, curious as to what Wall Rose had to offer. Children ran past you, throwing snowballs at each other and nearly running into you because of their haste. The sight made you grin as one of them bumped into one of the street market’s booths, knocking over a few items as he went.
The woman behind the counter chastised them, her shouts growing louder when they barely spared her a glance and blended into the crowd of shoppers. Nick nacks and books were left scattered in their wake, askew on the cobblestone ground.
“Need help, ma’am?,” you asked her, picking up the objects from the ground.
“Thank you, dearie,” she sighed gratefully, taking them from your hands. “Kids these days, so reckless and always in such a hurry.”
You laughed airily, mirth swimming in your eyes.
“You’re just lucky they didn’t steal anything,” you joked, reminiscing about your own thieving past. Your attention turned towards the noting the soldiers now dozing off on top of their card table nearby, tutting their behavior lightheartedly. “Levi, if only the police were like that back when we--”
Out of habit, you turned around to meet his gaze, heart clenching when you remembered he wasn’t there. Your fists clenched to prevent you from smacking yourself at your carelessness. He’s not here, dumbass.
“What was that, hun?” the woman behind the counter inquired, preoccupied in sorting her things.
You put on your best smile, shaking your head before your thoughts could fill with images of a certain raven-haired, steele-eyed, heart-stopping male. The back of your eyes stung, the momentary joy of your first real winter quickly fading away.
“Nothing important.”
This is for the best, (Y/N). You’ve only ever gotten in the way, his whole life. Let the man be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a few years since that last encounter with him. Part of you still wondered if Levi tried looking for you after realizing your true intentions of never coming back. You hoped he didn't, imagining instead that he'd made the most of the opportunity you'd given him. Prayed that it wasn't all for naught and he instead pursued what (or who) truly made him happy, instead of worrying about other people. In truth, you became content with life, learning to look back on memories fondly and being thankful for their existence.
Residing above ground was enough reason to be grateful in itself, and you did your best to make the most of it. Your days were now spent in ways that paid tribute to your humble beginnings: individuals from the underground who managed to secure citizenship to the surface were put into your care. You helped men, women, and children alike assimilate into living on the surface, which included introducing the area, and assisting in finding housing and jobs. It was rewarding work, but more than anything, reminiscent to be able to see the wonder when their eyes meet the clouds for the very first time. The flickers of hope from your clients were things you carried with you every day. Your chosen profession left plenty of free time, however, as it was relatively rare for individuals to pay the hefty toll of climbing up those stairs.
Your life was average, and for the most part, uneventful. The quietness that accompanied mediocrity proved to be comforting, however. It was a far cry from the days of constantly looking over your shoulder and needing to carry a knife in your boot, just in case.
At first, it was difficult not to cry at the thought of the stoic, raven-haired Ackerman. The heartache weighed down in your chest for a good amount of time. The simplest things reminded you of Levi, but after a while, instances where he’d cross your mind became fewer and further between. With a nicer home than anything you previously owned, a livable income, and an overall peaceful existence, you didn’t have any regrets.
At least, that was what you told yourself until you heard the news.
On off days you worked as a waitress at one of the many taverns within Wall Rose. Large tips were one of the many perks that drew you in originally. The chatter of the customers and frequent bar-goers was a welcome ambience, and an opportunity for you to combat the occasional feeling of loneliness.
Occasionally, Scout Regiment gossip would filter through, especially about Humanity’s Strongest and the new titan shifter Eren Jeager. Updates were nice, knowing Levi was safe and thriving in what he did best. But as you placed a pint of beer on one of the tables and overheard a heavy set man babble loudly to his comrade, dread splashed over you in waves.
“The Captain was the only survivor in his squad. He wasn’t even with them when it happened, poor guy. He must feel terribly guilty.”
Your vision became hazy as you tried not to panic; of all the rumours that filtered through the drunk mouths of customers, you had never heard bad news like this before. The last you’d heard, human kind was given a beacon of hope, and things were looking up after Eren Jaeger managed to plug up the hole in Trost.
“Excuse me, but which squad did you say this happened to?” you heard your voice say.

Across the table, the other man took a swig of his drink, and grunted indignantly.
“Levi Squad, the best in the military I heard. A shame, but I suppose even the top in the Survey Corps are still just suicidal maniacs when it comes down to it.”
No, no, no, no. This wasn’t supposed to happen!
After that, everything became white noise. You could only register every third movement, heart thundering in your ears. The tray you’d been holding to carry the drinks clattered as it fell to the ground, causing a few gasps and strange looks to be thrown in your direction. In your horrified state, dread weighed down like lead in your body. You rushed to the back room, tears clouding your vision as you tried not to stumble.
You gripped the edges of the washroom sink, dizzy with this newfound information.
Levi has now lost more people that he loved, and was probably experiencing the same survivor’s guilt as he did with Isabel and Farlan. He was most likely suffering alone right now, never having been one to let people see his vulnerability so easily.
You did not witness first hand what your friends’ deaths meant to him. When the Captain waited for you at the top of the staircase, his expression never seemed out of the ordinary. Levi was kind enough to let you enjoy your first few days up with him simply enjoying the newfound freedom. He made the excuse that your two other comrades were out on business somewhere, and would be back to see you soon. Maybe, at the time, your excitement blinded you from the deeper emotions hidden in his voice.
When you found out the truth, their passing broke you. The fact that Levi shouldered any blame, however, is what twisted the knife. He had been grieving by himself; feeling that pain without anyone to comfort him. He had to put on a brave face just to see you; secretly spending that last month alone, probably relaying over and over how he would break the news to you.
Your remorse increased tenfold when it was him who held you, and him who put you back together, just like he had to for himself. And now he was by himself all over again.
I have to do something.
Splashing water on your face, you straightened up and looked in the mirror, a sudden surge of guilt coursing through your veins.
You refused to let Levi be alone this time around, no matter how he might feel about you now.

『  Mistaken Kisses 』
Tumblr media
a/n: i really suck at reading word per word huh, my eyes kinda missed accidentally 🤠✨ anon i apologize for being trash pls i’ll make it up to you anytime 😭
part two | atsumu, sakusa, kenma
pairings: oikawa x reader, tsukishima x reader, sugawara x reader, kuroo x reader
warning/s: slight angst (for all except Suga), language
☾ Oikawa Tooru
unbelievable
leaving the gym late at night and the first thing he sees is you being kissed by someone else
short-circuits, wanting to lash out and sink into the abyss out of depression at the same time
it’s the ultimate heartbreak for him rlly and it manifests into ugly annoyance and anger
He watches you push him off, his hand twitching to slap the guy in the face as hard as he serves. “Kunimi-kun, can you hand me that ball over there,” he says, his junior quick to follow his demand at the rare occurrence of his serious demeanor.
One minute you’re cursing at the person and the next he’s on the ground, groaning in pain with a bloodied nose, the volleyball now bouncing off somewhere. You look to the source and freeze when you see your frowning boyfriend who looked so disappointed in you.
He only walks off as if he hadn’t seen anything, with you practically jogging in long strides to catch up with him.
“Toru, I know how you must feel but I didn’t want it either!” You try to reason with him but he pretends to not hear, tightening his grip on his bag as he continues to walk away.
You grab him by his wrist making him stop to look at you, “oh, y/n-chan didn’t see you there! Why’re you here, did you finish so soon with your other guy?” His smile doesn’t fool anyone at all with his eyes cold and piercing.
“You saw how I pushed him away! He kissed me out of nowhere,” tears start to gloss your eyes, normally it would stop him from acting childish when you guys fought before but right now, he simply can’t shake off the feeling of betrayal.
He scoffs, “how would you feel if I have other girls kiss me?”
You glare at him, knowing fully well how childish and immature he could be but this was a tad bit too much. “I wouldn’t like it all! But I didn’t let him kiss me, you saw so yourself! Don’t be so difficult!”
“Are we done here?” He spitefully says, withdrawing his arm from your hold. You watch him in disbelief when he actually walks away again, leaving you there.
To your surprise though, he turns on his heel and makes his way over to you with a frown, muttering under his breath and all you hear was “stupid, stupid, baka, everything’s so stupid.”
“Are you alright?” He asks, a small scowl on his lips as he refused to look at you. “I was surprised when he grabbed me, Toru, I really wouldn’t do that to you,” you manage to choke out despite the lump in your throat, and he looks at you in alarm.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry,” he coos, tucking locks of your hair behind your ears before cupping your face.
“It’s getting late, let’s go home, yeah?” He smiles, before you both walk in the dark streets hand in hand.
☾ Tsukishima Kei
first off, what the actual fuck
he stands still, unconsciously clenching his fists by his sides as he watches you push off the guy
“I’m sorry, I was dared to,” he explains and you hold the look of disgust, frightened when you finally see Tsukishima
in a heartbeat, the person who kissed you was on the ground, having been kicked by Tsukki out of nowhere
“Tsukki!” You hiss, going up to his side immediately while he looked down on the guy clutching his side. “Ah, gomen, gomen, did it hurt?” He says with false sincerity, a taunting smirk playing at his lips and you actually fear for what he was going to do next.
“Tsukki, it’s fine, let’s just go,” you tug on the white shirt he wore, fresh from practice thus the sweat. He momentarily scans your face and he could tell you were frightened and disgusted all at the same time, but what was this bitter feeling he felt?
Unreasonable jealousy that’s what.
He sighs before wrapping an arm around your shoulders as he brings you inside the gym, leaving you in the care of Yamaguchi for a while before he exits the gym once more, grabbing the poor kid by the collar.
“Who gave you the fucking right to kiss my girlfriend?” He sneers in a low chilling voice, scoffing at the terrified expression he wore. “Pathetic,” he tuts before letting him go, deciding it was best to check on you first.
You’re both in the changing room now, and he had you drink water while he stood shirtless before you. “Next time you should really wait inside,” he tells you, the image burned to the back of his mind that was no good for his temper at all.
“I’m sorry Tsukki,” you guiltily say, looking down at your feet. It actually bothered him so much to have seen you being kissed by someone else, but he knows how none of it was your fault, he really does, that’s why he felt so bad for being slightly irritated at you but he can’t help it.
“Whatever, let’s go,” he says, finally putting on a shirt and not waiting for you to stand up as he leaves the room first.
☾ Sugawara Koushi
this baby’s lit up face as he makes his way over to your classroom contorts to a look of pain once he sees you
before the ache grew he had already assessed the situation though, seeing as how you’d pushed him off cursing
but what the fUck he is anything but chill
doesn’t really show though as he makes his way over to you, hand resting at the small of your back
You instantly feel safe and secure, looking up to meet his soft eyes on yours, he wanted to reassure you that he understood and that he wasn’t mad at you one bit, it still kinda sucked though.
“Koushi, he suddenly did it, I don’t know why,” you explain and he strokes your hair, “I know, don’t worry about it,” he smiles. He instantly looks at the pathetic excuse of a guy before you, and the still smiling Suga spooked him out.
“Why’d you kiss her though, h/n-kun?” He politely asks, and you questioningly look at him, like how is he so calm and like?? not loud?? You’re very much aware how he is when he explodes.
“I’m sorry man, I just kinda thought she’d like it,” he sheepishly says, avoiding his eyes. You’re both caught in surprise when Suga chuckles, and it almost sounded legit if not for the cold and vicious look pointed at him.
“Daijoubu, daijoubu,” he says, making his way over to him, and you’re beyond confused when he sticks out his hand, the naive boy stupidly accepting it.
“You better not come anywhere near her again though,” he warns, his voice dropping low and cold as he looks him straight in the eyes. “I won’t do it again, but we’re classmates so- ow,” he winces.
You glance down at their hands, noticing how his was obviously being squeezed tight and hard by Suga himself. “I get it, I get it,” he huffs, taking his hand away. “Geez,” he mutters, eyeing Suga darkly before he walks off, and not soon after, he stumbles to the ground because of Suga’s stuck out foot.
“You didn’t even apologize to her, where are your manners?” He frowns, “dirtbag.”
Suga took you to an isolated hallway after that, doting on you, and once you’ve assured him you were fine and all, you’re embraced in a warm long hug. “It must’ve pissed you off, Koushi,” you say, guilt behind your voice.
He merely hums in approval, running his hand up and down your back. “It did, I really really wanted to beat him up but,” he sighs dramatically, and you raise a brow. “I don’t wanna be a bad guy in front of you,” he offers a shy smile.
☾ Kuroo Tetsuro
like Oikawa, he would practically stop functioning for a while like what even- what tf in the world is he seeing
he could’t process it, you’d never do that to him but it hurt him so much
quick to catch on that it was without your consent though as you struggled to push him off
needless to say, i think we all know how Kuroo with his towering height and buffed build could be scary and intimidating
“It was a prank, a harmless prank bro!” He defends, panicked as he was pinned to the locker door behind him with Kuroo clutching on his collar.
“Harmless?” He repeats with a tone of disdain, and you could practically feel his shiver at Kuroo’s words while you watched their exchange. “Kuroo, please don’t start something,” you touch his arm hesitantly, worried about your teacher’s pet and perfect-deportment boyfriend.
“I’d never,” he grins sadistically, yanking him before slamming him back to the locker. “Tetsu!” You hiss, trying to pull at him but it did absolutely nothing. “I swear it was just a prank, I planned to kiss any girl-
“And out of all the girls you decided to kiss mine?” He almost growls, and they both had a resemblance of that of a predator and its prey. “Tetsu, stop it!” You demand, and he does, immediately letting him go and scoffing when he runs away.
“Calm down,” you hold both his hands in yours, and his dark eyes look at you. He remains quiet, taking you with him as he walks off to the empty volleyball court.
“Are you mad?” You hesitantly ask, looking at his back as he turned on the lights, “furious,” he shortly answers. He really was fuming mad, no matter how rare he got angry, the incident a while ago was like a stab to the chest for him.
“I’m sorry,” you mutter, feeling small as you stood still in your spot. He halts his actions though once he hears you, “I wish I could turn back time to avoid him but-
“Sweetheart I’m not mad at you,” he cuts you off, guilt consuming him as he reflected on his actions a while ago; not once had he asked if you were okay, instead he succumbed to his anger and disregarded how you felt.
“You’re not?” You ask, looking up at him, and he sighs, “come here,” he opens his arms, and you’re more than happy to rush towards him. “I’m sorry for losing my cool,” he says after you practically threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around his torso.
“I’m sorry you had to see that,” you mumble against his chest, and he clenches his jaw, the mere memory of it making him feel hurt and angered at the same time. “It wasn’t your fault, but it totally sucked, I’ll give you that,” he groans, burying his face in your shoulder.
“Let’s get you home so you could brush your teeth thrice, and then let’s make out,” he grins.

Heatwave Drabble #4: like a best friend
[Heatwave // Godless // Heatwave Drabbles] <- have to read first
Pairing: Taehyung x reader
Summary: You and Taehyung run into his infamous cheating ex, only for him to introduce you as his current girlfriend. As you play along with his narrative, you can’t help but feel insecure and jealous.
Genre: drabble, very fluffy, angst, f2l, bit of fake dating
Warnings: typical emotional constipation from these two, jealous!oc, heartbreakingly boyfriend!taehyung, indirect confession that they’re both unaware of lol
Word count: 5.8k
A/N: Oh look, more jealousy? Are we even surprised at this point?? Requested by my little muffin @taexxxiiaa. Sorry to all the Heatwave fans for this constant torture of unresolved feelings.
.
Taehyung has a habit of stuffing his face with too much food and consequently eating in pout. As he is doing right now. You watch him merrily wolf down another soy sauce-dipped slice of raw salmon and stack the miniature plate with the rest of his conquests. It’s his sixth plate.
When he’d first shown you the email he received for ‘all you can eat' sushi, your response was a firm “No.” You’re not even a fan of seafood in general, let alone raw fish. But Taehyung was persistent, insisting on what a bargain it is and how it’s sushi season right now. Sushi season, what bullshit. Another “No.” Yet when Taehyung has his eyes set on something, especially when it comes to food, there’s little that can stop him. He knows how to use his assets - batting is lashes, huffing like a baby, nuzzling into your neck - until you finally let out a defeated sigh.
So here you are, plotting how best to sneak in some wasabi into his food. This wimp has a full on breakdown at the slightest taste of spice, you can just envision his face when the wasabi burns up his nostrils and through to his ears.
That will teach him not to drag you out to sushi again.
“Why aren’t you eating your udon?” Taehyung’s eyes are wide and innocent, unsuspecting of your mischievou scheme. “Too hot?”
“Yeah, don’t want to burn my tongue.” You stir your steaming noodles, smiling to yourself.
The two of you had managed to secure a four-person booth due to his non-stop nagging to come early to avoid the queue. The restaurant is now bustling with customers and stressed waiters, the smell of Japanese food infused in the warm air. You’re both sat on one couch, while sat across you is another couple who are just finishing with their lunch. This arrangement is due to the busy demand of the restaurant, squeezing in however many impatient hungry people as they can. Though you didn’t have a problem with sharing a booth with strangers at first, Taehyung’s ravenous gorging of sushi after sushi has made you particularly self conscious.
As soon as the couple leave after paying their bill, you turn to hiss at Taehyung. “Why are you eating like that?”
“Like what?” His words are barely audible with his mouth full. “Are you gonna eat your udon or not? I can help you out if you can’t finish the whole thing.”
Ah, there it is, his infamous line - I can help you out if you can’t finish the whole thing.
Honestly, his appetite is abominable.
“Order your own udon!” You begin eating your noodles to prove that you are hungry, and you will finish the whole thing.
Taehyung tucks his hair behind his ear (you’ve recently noticed that his ears are abnormally big, which you guess explains the massive dick). Just a few days ago, you had managed to convince him to get a perm. The main selling point was: ‘all the bitches will go crazy for it, trust me’. Bitches being you.  And indeed, all the bitches are crazy for it. In the timespan at which you’ve been in this restaurant alone, you’ve caught almost every single girl checking him out, eyes flickering too often towards your booth for it to be coincidental.
When their eyes fell onto you, you would smile at them politely, yet to your surprise, they’d wear a sour expression and ignore your courtesy. You soon realised that they think you’re Taehyung’s girlfriend. Girlfriend! The thought had made you shudder and scoot further away from him.
“Nah, I need to save room for the sushi, baby.” He pats his stomach that remains annoyingly flat despite his feasting. “I need to pee, I’ll be right back. Can you order some more California Rolls and the Dragon Roll please? Oh, actually, and one more Soft Shell Crab Roll and a Tempura Shrimp as well please?”
You glare hard at his back as he scuttles out the booth and hurries to the toilet. Stupid dork. It’s only noon and he has already eaten a whole day’s worth of food. He’s going to end up vomiting his guts out if he keeps at this rate.
Still, you wave the waiter over and place his order for him. The waiter’s kind of cute, he’s got that soft wholesome look, the kind of boy you bring home to your parents. You wonder why he’s avoiding your eye and not slipping you his number. You hope it’s not because he thinks you’re with Taehyung.
A new pair of customers are being ushered to your booth across from you to replace the departed couple; it’s two pleasant looking girls this time, chatting away in blithe. This time, they reciprocate your smile with nods of their own.
Taehyung returns from the bathroom shortly, yet as he approaches your booth, he halts in his step so abruptly that you spin to face him.
“Ryujin?” The shock in his voice is unmistakable. His eyes are locked on one of the girls that’s just arrived opposite you. Static.
“Taehyung?” She gasps, returning the same surprise, pupils widening.
Ryujin? Taehyung’s never mentioned a Ryujin to you before? Who is she?
Taehyung’s face is stoic, completely stripped of its normal cheeriness. Lips pressed in a thin line, jaw screwed firmly shut. Shit… You turn to assess the girl, digging through your memory for a Ryujin, yet failing. Who the hell is she to have Taehyung react in such a way? If she were just a friend, he’d be rushing over to greet her. If she were someone he slept with, he’d subtly acknowledge her but make no big deal out of it.
Instead, he’s clenching his fists, feet planted an arm’s length away from your table.
You clear your throat, snapping him out of his trance. “You know each other?”
Finally, he glances over at you for the first time in what feels like ages. And right away, you see the disorientation in his eyes. Taehyung slowly makes his way back into the booth, sliding in beside you until your legs touch.
“Yeah, she’s my ex girlfriend.”
Oh.
Oh.
That cheating bitch.
If it weren’t for the firm hand placed quickly on your thigh as if he’d known you’d react in such manner, you would have leapt up and started screaming at her. The anger is rushing to your head all at once. You’re struggling not to chuck the stack of plates at her face.
So this is the girl who had broken Taehyung’s heart. This is the girl who gave Taehyung trust issues. But also, this is the girl who lead to you and Taehyung meeting. In every way you look at it, she is the reason why you’re in each other’s lives in the first place. So you guess you owe her a thank you after you throw a drink at her.
Taehyung doesn’t speak much about her, or at all. It’s been years since their relationship anyway, and since all his ties to her have been cut, it makes perfect sense that he’s forgotten about her. Even at the beginning, he was adamant about not thinking about her, he said it had hurt too much to even say her name. And so you were always careful about not bringing the topic up in conversation; it was none of your business anyway, it wasn’t relevant to his life anymore. There were occasional jokes here and there, but only ever made by him, and even still, you could sense the underlying hurt.
“Taehyung, it’s been so long…” Her attention was utterly transfixed on Taehyung. You might as well have been a cardboard cutout for all that matters, she wouldn’t have noticed anyway. But it must be bewildering to run into your ex who you cheated on like this. Anyone would be thrown off.
What are the chances that, not only did you come to the same all-you-can-eat-sushi place, but have also been sat on the same booth? Just your luck.
Your eyes wander back to Taehyung, fearing for his current state of mind. Your roommate is an emotional guy, as much as he likes to mask it in ridiculous humour. It would not surprise you if he just stands up and leave right now, even with his food on its way. Yet his features are calm, unbothered, his initial surprise melting away to neutrality.
“Hm… Yeah.” He doesn’t ask how she fares as she’d expected, you can see the disappointed drop in her face at his apathetic souciance. Then he turns to you. “Did you order the stuff?”
Unsure of how to interpret his sudden maturity, you just nod slowly. Quiet Taehyung is scary…
Disregarding her friend’s apparent discomfort, Ryujin presses on. “It must have been, what, more than two years now? How are you?”
Why can’t this bitch take a hint? Just shut the fuck up and order your fucking sushi. Leave him alone.
But Taehyung remains unmoved. While you are the one quietly fuming in the corner. Sensing your aggravation, he brushes his thumb on your thigh soothingly. When you lock eyes again, you’re stunned to find him completely at ease, the corner of his mouth even perking up to reassure you that he’s fine.
“I’m doing well actually.” Ryujin frowns again at his short answer. You think she’s going to give up now, but then she continues.
“You look good.” You tense. Oh don’t she dare... “I’m not doing too bad myself, I-”
Just then, the waiter cuts off the monologue she was headed towards as he brings over the plates of food you’d ordered for Taehyung. His eyes immediately flash in excitement, resuming his usual childish manner as he peels his hand from your leg and snatches his chopsticks.
“Can I get anything for you two ladies?” The waiter asks Ryujin and her companion, whose face appears flushed from the awkwardness of this situation. Ryujin, evidently annoyed by the interruption, proceeds to order.
While her attention is diverted, you quickly take this opportunity to mouth to Taehyung, “you okay?”
Striking you with an honest smile as he swallows his sushi, he nods. “Yeah, don’t worry, completely fine. Eat your udon, or it’ll get cold.” His voice is hushed, and you don’t know why you get startled when he leans closer to whisper to you.
Not entirely convinced, it’s your turn to pat his leg, almost subconsciously, as if to make sure that this really is Taehyung, your Taehyung. How is he this calm right now? Well, he’s always been a silent sulker when he’s mad, but… He doesn’t even seem one bit troubled by the sudden appearance of his ex. Not even that eyebrow twitch he gets when he’s annoyed. And in the meantime, you’re silently plotting how to magically get wasabi in this bitch’s eye.
When the waiter leaves, Ryujin turns back to Taehyung once again, scanning his ethereal features and beautifully curled long hair. No doubt regretting her shitty decision of infidelity when they were together. Finally, her eyes flicker over to you, for the first time since Taehyung’s arrival. “So who’s thi-”
“Y/N, my girlfriend.”
You choke so hard on the fat noodle you are slurping that some of the savoury broth goes up your nose. Wheezing and spluttering for air like a cat choking on a hairball, you feel all your blood rush to your reddening face, both from the lack of air and the embarrassment. Taehyung’s careless whacks between your shoulder blades isn’t helping at all. Only after downing the whole cup of green tea does your coughing finally subside.
“You okay, babe?” Taehyung realises his smacks on your back are too harsh to be boyfriend-like, so he eases it into gentle rubs. But the concern in his large brown irises are genuine nonetheless.
You glare at him. Long, hard. Before nodding and flashing him a sickly-sweet smile. Oh boy, is he going to get kicked in the ass later for putting you up to this. He seems to see the dangerous flare of your nostrils, a warning sign that he has really, most fucking definitely, made the wrong move. He gulps and smiles back nervously.
Girlfriend? Girlfriend?!
What the fuck is he playing at right now? Why did he have to lie to her like that? Is he trying to make her jealous? Or just act like he’s moved on just fine without her? You clamp your mouth shut to prevent any angry words from tumbling out. There’s nothing to do but to play along right now - there’s an enemy to face.
“Oh right, girlfriend…” Ryujin says so softly that you almost feel bad for her before remembering that this is her own doing. “I guess that must be why you haven’t replied to my text asking you to meet up then… Right?”
At that, your entire body goes rigid.
She- Does that mean- Wh-
You look over at Taehyung, mouth hanging open in utter disbelief. Ryujin has been texting Taehyung. And he hasn’t mentioned a word about it to you. Although it really shouldn’t affect you so much, it feels like a stab of betrayal.
His lips are pursed again, as he gazes up at her reluctantly. “Yeah, that’s right.”
Then his arm circles around your back and pulls you into him, fingers gripping your waist in a display of possession. At the unforeseen momentum, and still in your state of shock, your frame falls feebly into his chest. Your heart leaps to your throat. You don’t understand why but… your cheeks feel hot.
His arm, around you. His hand, holding your side. His neck, pressed on your forehead.
You’re hyper aware of everywhere he is touching you. Why, all of a sudden?
“Oh okay, um, I really wish you all the best…” Ryujin mumbles, no longer looking at you and Taehyung anymore, not sounding one bit like she means what she’s saying. Her friend beside her has resorted to scrolling through her phone at this point, cringing from this awkward exchange.
“Thanks, Ryujin. I’m really happy - never been happier in my life, in fact.” The vibration of Taehyung’s Adam’s apple reverberates into you as he tugs you even closer, arm fastened around your middle. You struggle for room, bending your neck to peer up at him from your squished position.
He’s grinning radiantly at you, and at your wide-eyed confused expression, he can’t help but lean down to press his lush warm lips onto your forehead.
You blink.
Truly, you think your brain has stopped functioning. What is going on?
He’s definitely doing this to make Ryujin jealous. That is the only plausible explanation. It makes your chest clench in bitterness. Why does he still care what she thinks? This is completely unnecessary. Does he still care about her?
And why didn’t he tell you that she was texting him?
What has she been telling him?
All this doubt, this uncertainty, manifests into a suffocating lump in your throat. You have always been completely open and honest with each other about every aspect of your lives - family, friends, work, grades, relationships, sex. Not that he owes it to you to tell you everything, but you’d just thought that it was how things worked between you. What else is he hiding from you?
But at the same time, your focus can’t stray from the way he is holding you, and the confidence in his tone. How certain and sincere he sounded. And how he pecked you so casually in public, in front of everyone. Your stomach feels funny.
As you resume your eating, you stay quiet, thinking. On the other hand, Taehyung is quiet due to fact that he has no room to speak in between engulfing California Roll after California Roll. Happily humming under his breath as he chews. The waiter returns with a tray of food Ryujin and her friend had ordered. “Here you go, would you like some green tea?”
“Oo, can you fill mine up too please.” You hastily pass him your empty ceramic cup.
“Of course. Be careful, the tea is very ho-” Just as he warns you while he refills your cup, he over-tips the pot and sends scalding tea all over your hand.
“Ow!” Quickly drawing back your boiled hand out of instinct, you yelp out in pain. Fumbling over his sorry, I’m so so sorry’s, the waiter bows his deeply apologetically, scurrying to clean up the steaming spilled liquid in a panic.
“Mate, watch out!” Taehyung sits up immediately, scrambling to wipe your soaked hand with tissues. The glare he throws the waiter could cut through glass. “Are you okay?” The concern clouding his eyes when he faces you floods your veins with a security.
“Yeah… Don’t worry, it’s just a burn.” You watch him examine your hand intently as if it’s some ancient priceless artefact that could shatter from a poke; you’ve noticed lately that he tends to do this when you’re injured. With his fringe frizzed over his forehead, lips puckered in concentration as he caress over your pink tender skin, you are helpless and unmoving. Staring at him.
“Are you sure? It’s getting kind of red…” He refuses to let your hand go. Your fingers scorch under his touch and it’s not from the tea.
“Yeah, baby, I’m fine.” Taehyung’s head whips up instantly at the way you address him. Confused for a good second, before realising that it is to play along with the fake girlfriend narrative.
Right…
Reluctantly, he lets you pull your hand out of his clutch, and only when you pick up your chopsticks to prove to him that it’s only a minor injury does he resign in his coddling and return to his food. As you glance up, you notice Ryujin’s blazing glower at your direction. You quickly look away.
In the presence of his cheating ex-girlfriend, you two no longer feel at ease to banter away as normal. You aren’t even at the liberation to have a regular conversation without her listening in on everything. So the meal passes rather wordlessly.
However, the silence births a different kind of interaction between you and Taehyung. You can’t tell if it’s just for show, or due to his innate affectionate nature, but he suddenly feels the need to display his love for skinship. Under the table, his hand once again strays to the land of your thighs, gently stroking. When you shoot him a warning glare, lest he gets any vulgar ideas, you find that he possesses no lustful intent at all. Just pure fondness for you.
Something inside you softens. You’re starting to think that he isn’t acting out of spite against Ryujin, but rather simply enjoying your company as usual.
But you know what? Screw that bitch. Not once, to your knowledge, did she apologise to Taehyung when she’s had two years to own up to her mistakes. Not until now, of all times. She deserves to get riled up.
“Taehyung-ie, can I have a bite of your shrimp?” You smile at your pretend-boyfriend sweetly. He gives you a perplexed look that says: But I thought you hate shrimp? before he clocks on with your intention.
“Of course, baby.” And without fail, just like a scene straight from a drama, he picks up the tempura shrimp and feeds it to you, eyes crescent in mirth as you open up and take a mouthful like a hungry little child. You feel a crumb flake away onto your chin, yet before you can wipe it away, Taehyung reaches it first. Chuckling, he sweeps the small speck into your mouth. But not without the slightest, most fleeting, brush of his thumb against your tongue.
The action feels… intimate. Like weirdly intimate, even for you and Taehyung’s dynamic.
Why does your breath keep hitching?
Perhaps after a second too long, you conjure a giggle in response, attentive of Ryujin’s gawk in your periphery. “Thanks, love.” The syrup in your voice is sickly sweet. God, even you want to barf.
“You’re too adorable, honey buns.” Taehyung cups your face in one hand, fingers digging into your squishy cheeks as he shakes you. Your smile drops. Adorable? Honey buns? HoNEy bUnS? Kim Taehyung is so dead.
But before you could kick him in the shin under the table, he leans in and plants his lips on yours. Soft, supple.
Oh.
Just as you think it’s only meant to be a peck, he deepens the kiss, his plump pink mouth gliding over yours smoothly. Anyone who sees would know that you’re accustomed to such action with each other from the natural comfortable manner of your kiss. Anyone could tell that you’re used to each other’s lips.
You pull away abruptly when you become conscious of many’s attention on you. With your face so near his, all you can see is how his lips draw into a smirk.
It’s unusual for you two to kiss outside of a sexual context. Because why would you? Friends don’t kiss each other unless they’re: A) dating, or B) banging. And especially in the past few weeks, you’ve been progressively kissing each other less, even during sex. Almost as if you’ve both realised how intimate it is, and all the romantic connotations that come with it.
Yet here he is, kissing you so openly in public.
Yeah, it’s just for show for his ex. But it’s still…
You don’t know.
.
After Taehyung had finally eaten to his heart’s content, the two of you had gone to study in the library. Ryujin wore a sour face in the entire duration of the meal, and you would hear low grunts of irritation from her direction. You practically felt her venomous glare on the back of your head as you were leaving the restaurant. Acting has never been your strong suit, but even you’ll admit that the two of you are putting on an Oscar-worthy performance.
You’ve been quiet, you know. It’s because of that bitter taste in the back of your throat that you still can’t get rid of at the thought that Taehyung might still care about Ryujin. Why else would he lie to her and say that you’re his girlfriend if not to get a reaction out of her?
But more so, why does it bother you so much? You wish you don’t care this much for this stupid sushi-demolisher who doesn’t deserve your time and efforts. He’s probably thinking about his next meal again while you’re here lamenting over your weird feelings.
So you keep your mouth shut throughout your study session, brewing in your acrid thoughts.
Taehyung watches you nibble at the end of your pen. How is he supposed to focus on his coursework when you’ve got that pouty expression? And since when did you not take every chance you get to take the piss out of him? He wonders what’s going on in your head.
Seeing Ryujin had been a shock, a blast from the past. It hadn’t bothered him too much to be honest, he simply doesn’t care about her anymore. A few days ago, she had sent him a message out of the blue. Out of politeness, he’d responded but kept his replies brief; it was difficult to decipher her intention at first, but it soon revealed itself. Apparently, her and Jimin went on to date for a while - good on them, Taehyung truly could not give fewer shits anymore. But their relationship deteriorated due to their incompatibility, which was predictable knowing them both. It was when she started showing interest in Taehyung, apologising and kissing his ass about how good he was to her that he decided to stop answering.
The thought of getting back with her gave him shivers.
Your reaction to Ryujin back there wasn’t unexpected at all, of course you weren’t going to react mildly to his ex. Taehyung is lucky you didn’t ‘accidentally’ spill soy sauce onto her, or start yelling at her about faithfulness and morality. Your wrath towards her actually kind of warms his heart…
You aren’t one to talk about your feelings openly, but your actions definitely speak volumes about how much you care about him.
Taehyung smiles to himself.
There is so much loyalty between the two of you, complete trust and devotion. At the end of the day, no matter what goes on between you when you’re horny fuckers, you’re best friends above all else. Fighters for each other.
Your journey back home was also rather mute, consisting of him prodding you with jokes and teases, and you putting on a half-hearted smile. Maybe you’re annoyed at him for putting you on the spot and leaving you with no choice but to cooperate as his pretend girlfriend. All this relationship-y commitment-y crap repels the shit out of you. Basically the bane of your existence.
He probably shouldn’t have kissed and coddled you that much in front of Ryujin. You detest PDA like it’s some scandalous taboo, despite being the freakiest girl he knows in the sheets. But hey, you guys had to make it convincing and believable...
Yup, the more Taehyung thinks about it, the more he’s sure you’re annoyed (or even scared off) about the fake dating thing.
“You’re quiet for someone who just met her supposed archnemesis. I thought you’d be going on and on about what a bitch she is.” He glances at your sullen side profile for the hundredth time during your commute home.
“I don’t know, not it a great mood I guess? Probably just tired.” You mumble, searching for your keys in your coat pocket. The weather is getting cold these days; Taehyung knows your fingers are very prone to freezing, especially with your refusal of wearing gloves because ‘they’re ugly’ nor would you keep your hands in your pockets because ‘it’s a safety hazard incase you trip over’.
He gets a strangely overwhelming urge to hold your hands every time he sees you wiggling your fingers to warm them up. Hmm.
Wordlessly, you enter the house with him trailing behind you. He watches your moody steps from behind as you remove your shoes and head inside. Why can’t you just tell him what you’re thinking?
With a great sigh, Taehyung slumps onto the couch, focus still on you hanging your coat on the rack and tossing your keys into the holder on the shelf. “Hey.”
You turn, regarding his wide manspread with piqued interest. “What?”
“Come here, baby, sit on my lap.” He pats the top of his thighs in beckoning. Sometimes it’s like trying to get a stray cat to come to him.
Your eyes widen at his request. But very reluctantly, you stroll towards him until you’re standing between his extended legs. “Why are you calling me baby, we’re not pretending to be dating anymore.”
Taehyung stiffens as he senses the acrimony in your tone. So this is about the girlfriend thing? It’s a risky move but he sits up and pulls you in by the back of your thighs until you have no choice but to succumb to falling onto his hips. Lips still in a tight line, your limbs come around him to hold yourself upright. In order to prevent you from escaping, Taehyung encloses his arms around your waist, trapping you in his embrace. He tries not to think about how your crotch is directly on his right now.
“Why you sad?” He looks up at you, your eyes unreadable as always. Heat from your exhale fans his forehead.
“I don’t know. Nan molla.” You shrug and do that face scrunch thing you do whenever you’re unsure that he loves. It makes you look so cute.
“Hey…” Taehyung nudges your cheek with his nose in an attempt to get you to look at him. You have a habit of avoiding eye contact, and he knows it’s stems from the intimacy issue. “What’s up, honey buns?”
“Honey buns again? Seriously?” You jerk away from him like he insulted your mother or something.
“Well, since I can’t call you baby, honey buns it is.” His chest vibrates with his deep rumbling laughter, pleased with himself to see the slightest hint of a smile finally beginning to appear on you.
“Oh my god, Taehyung. Fine, just stick with baby, I swear…” You thump him on the back, yet your stone cold exterior now being invaded by a spark of humour.
“Good. Now tell me what’s wrong, baby.”
You’re quiet for a good few seconds, contemplating. Your legs around his torso tense, you bite your lip hesitantly. Come on, just talk to me, he wishes.
“Do you still… care about her?” Voice so soft that even he struggles to hear you this close.
“What? Ryujin?” Oh, so this is about her. Taehyung knew you hated her, but never thought that you would feel… insecure? Jealous, even? “Of course not. I don’t give a single fuck about her.” At his answer, you let out the breath you’ve been holding. A breath of relief? “But you clearly seem to care too much about her.”
“I- I do not!” In a tone of disbelief, you scorn. “I just- She’s not the one I care about.”
Fuck, you’re being too cute right now.
Taehyung pecks at your chin, unable to contain his affection anymore. You continue, “Plus, why didn’t you tell me she was talking to you again? Friends tell each other this sort of thing. I always tell you everything…”
The worry on your face is truly so endearing, he feels his chest constrict.
“I didn’t mention it because that’s how little I care. She is honestly so insignificant to me right now, I could not even be bothered to waste my breath bringing it up. Yes, she meant a lot to me for a period of my life. But. That was a long time ago. I’ve moved on, no thanks to you, remember?” Your eyes gradually dare loiter up his face. “You silly sausage.”
“But-” You’re pouting again. You need to stop pouting or he won’t be able to control himself, dammit. “Why did you lie and say I’m your girlfriend then, if you weren’t doing it to make her jealous.”
Taehyung blinks. Well… Um, about that... He didn’t want to have to explain it to you but...
“It just slipped out.”
Your turn to blink vacantly. Taehyung feels blood tinting his cheeks under your gaze. Even he doesn’t know why he said it back then. It just kind of… rolled off his tongue. Should he be worried? Yeah, he should definitely be worried.
When you still fail to say anything, he hurriedly asks, “Are you mad?”
“N-No. Why would I be mad?” The way your arm slides down his neck to brush pass his chest leaves his skin tingling. He pulls your legs closer around him, hand unintentionally trailing to your rear.
“I don’t know, you just hate that kind of lovey-dovey stuff. Just figured that you’d be annoyed that I forced you to act like my girlfriend.”
“Well, I was a bit annoyed… It’s not just me, you hate that kind of lovey-dovey stuff too!” Well, not exactly accurate, but Taehyung decides not to correct you. “But did you see her face?” Your tone begins to lighten. Remembering the acerbity tainting Ryujin’s features brings you amusement.
“She looked like she was going to murder someone.” You both laugh.
“She was thirsting over you like a hound, Jesus Christ. It’s because of your perm, trust me.” Grinning, you twirl his curly fringe around your fingers. You seem to do that quite often since he got the new hairstyle.
“Wow, you really like my perm that much?” He fishes, failing to control his forming smirk. You like to give him shit about his ego, yet no one strokes it more than you do.
“No comment.” You can’t contain your radiant smile either. Taehyung makes a mental note to keep the perm.
Seeing your mood lifted makes Taehyung feel much better, safer. His arms run up your back, and he feels you shudder under his touch. You fit into his embrace so well; it’s difficult to not hug you close to him every chance he gets nowadays. There’s a dull ache in the back of his neck from craning up to look at you for too long, but he doesn’t mind it. Your fingers fall from his hair, tracing his jaw frivolously, mindlessly. It leaves an unwarranted tremble within him.
“Look, there’s absolutely nothing for you to mull about in that overthinking head of yours. I don’t even remember Ryujin’s last name if I’m being honest with you. She lost me the moment she broke my heart, and I’ll never even remotely consider getting back with her. Ever. I promise.
“So don’t act all jealous and sulky just ‘cause you misunderstood. You’re my best girl. You’ll always be my best, favourite and only girl, understand? I, Kim Taehyung, belong to you, Y/N Y/L/N. Period.” The smile of satisfaction tells him everything. You’re not as hard to please as you appear to be. “I’m yours, happy?”
“Happy.” Fuck, Taehyung’s heart is going to explode from the joyous beam growing at your lips.
“Good, because she means nothing to me at all. But you, Ms. Needy-But-I-Won’t-Admit-It? You mean everything to me. Everything.” He bounces you on his lap for emphasis, eliciting another buoyant giggle from you.
Then you do something that you don’t normally do.
You kiss him - passionately and ardently. Fingers surfing the waves of his hair, you readjust your straddling position on top of him to minimise the distance. Taehyung feels all reason in his head incrementally ebbing away. You shouldn’t be kissing, you really shouldn’t. It’s not normal to make out with your best friend. But fuck the rules. Taehyung doesn’t want to stop kissing you right now, his silly adorable honey buns.
“Just admit it. You love me.” He taunts between breaths. You freeze at Taehyung’s words. Completely freeze on his lap, hand dangling from his face, as if you’ve been shot. “Like a best friend.” You deflate, evident relief at the joke.
Taehyung has to restrain from laughing out loud. God, you’re such an easy target. The second anything one step further from platonism is suggested, you act like you’re going to pack your bags and run for the hills. But here you are, kissing him and acting all possessive. He enjoys the irony.
“Yeah I love you. Like a best friend.” You flick the tip of his nose in reprimand for his teasing.
“Good because I love you too. Like a best friend.” He holds you tight against him, proceeding to blow raspberries in your neck.
Maybe even more, he wonders.

Love Down the Line: Chapter 2
The last thing Indie musician Emma Swan needs is a gigantic wrench thrown in the workings of her biggest tour to date weeks before its launch.  When her backing guitarist that caused the problem says she has the perfect solution Emma is skeptical but left with little choice but to accept.  Unfortunately she isn't really prepared for said solution to be former Rock Star and leading man of Emma's teenage fantasies, Killian Jones.  With no other options and a month of performing across the country ahead of her Emma just hopes she doesn't come to regret letting Killian onto her stage and into her life.
Ch 1, AO3
~*CS*~
Portland, Maine- April 10th
Emma hadn’t intended to be late to rehearsal.  In fact, she wanted to be early to get a step up on Jones.  She figured just because she was doing Ruby a favor didn’t mean she couldn’t exert a little pressure on the guy at the same time.  By the end of a tour she was usually ready to kick everyone off the bus and finish the damn shows herself and she was good friends with Ruby and the others in the backing band.  Jones had to more than prove himself to her during the rehearsal turned audition.  He had to blow it out of the water.
Of course, that had been before she was the one showing up almost forty minutes late.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit,” she huffed under her breath as she ran across the parking lot, the guitar strapped across her back knocking her in the ass with every step.
“You’re late Miss Swan.”
Emma grimaced at the sound of her manager, Regina Mills’, voice.  The woman was scary on a normal day with her custom designer suits, red soled stilettos, and three hundred dollar haircuts that made sure not a single dark hair was out of place, or grey.  She was holding open the door for her with a look of extreme annoyance or impatience or disappointment.  It could have been all three but Emma blew past her into the building and down the familiar hallways towards the space she and the others had been rehearsing in for years.
“I know, I know.  Sorry-” she shrugged in apology and nearly dropped the three notebooks and handful of loose papers in her arms.  Hugging them tighter into her chest she kept moving, “The bug wouldn’t start and I had to call Mary Margaret to borrow her car and then there was an accident on the highway.”
“And why couldn’t you have carpooled with Ruby?” Regina asked cooly as she followed, clearly unmoved by her tales of woe.
Emma stopped dead in the middle of the hallway and spun to face Regina, “Ruby can’t be here.  She’s not supposed to drive with the pills she was given.”
“She is and she didn’t,” Regina said with a roll of her eyes, pushing at Emma’s elbow to get her moving again. “Some other woman who has the manners of a barn animal is here with her.  If you keep inviting people to rehearsals I’m going to start charging for the privilege, maybe even turn it into a VIP package.”
“It must be Dorothy,” Emma smiled, her first real one since Ruby’s practically world ending phone call. “Good for her.  And the only other person who should be here is that Jones guy Ruby swears is worthy of replacing her.  She said he’s a session guitarist, do you not know him either?”
She’d opened the door that led to the rehearsal space, looking over her shoulder as she asked.  Regina raised an impeccably plucked brow and settled her gaze behind her.  Turning towards the room she immediately saw who the stranger was and promptly dropped everything in her arms in shock.
“Careful there, Swan, if you’re anything like every other songwriter I know those things are worth more than their weight in gold.”
Emma could do nothing more than stare as Killian Jones set his guitar aside and crossed the room to pick up the papers and notebooks at her feet.  He gathered them all and tried to straighten them before handing them up to her, a crooked grin on his face.  It faltered a little as she continued to stare at him before he chuckled and scratched behind his ear.
Killian Jones was definitely not the random guy off the street Emma had been imagining, he wasn’t even a vaguely familiar face she’d seen in the halls of their rehearsal space.  He had been the lead guitarist and second vocalist for one of the biggest rock bands in the world almost fifteen years earlier.  His band, Realm of Jewels' second album had gone multi platinum, they’d played arenas and headlined festivals across the globe.  Rumor had it that their third album was supposed to be even bigger.  Then there had been a terrible accident and half the band was gone in an instant.  Killian Jones had survived but emerged from the wreck with one hell of a dragon, in the form of alcohol and pills, on his back.
As far as she’d known he was just another rock star that had gotten lost in the world because of his addictions.  Apparently the story hadn’t ended there.  No, it had seemingly kept going with him ending up in her goddamn rehearsal space looking bashful and hot as fuck.
“You’re Killian Jones.”
He blushed and it almost killed her, “Last time I checked.”
“Realm of Jewels,” she challenged, wondering if he’d shy away from his past.
“Once upon a time,” he shot back, a glint of humor in his eyes as his blush faded.
She hummed, “Rolling Stone called you a ‘not so hidden gem in the rock world, poised to be among the pantheon of rock gods’ if I’m remembering correctly.”
“Good memory,” he grinned, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “And that same illustrious publication said you were on the road to being the Stevie Nicks of your generation.  A bit belittling but not far off the mark.”
“Belittling?” She asked sharply, her hackles rising.
He held up his hands in defense, “Not in the way you think, Swan.  If I had written the article I would have perhaps said that you were a talent beyond compare.”
“Oh,” she said, deflating a bit but still on edge due to him being there at all, “um, okay.”
She glanced around the room, trying to find a way out of the suddenly awkward silence that had settled between them.  Tink Greene and Will Scarlet, the other members of her backing band, were huddled by the drumset, watching them with barely hidden awe, clearly star struck at being in the same room with the Killian Jones.  Ruby was sitting on the couch, whispering to the woman sitting next to her, who could only be Dorothy.  Emma caught Ruby’s eye and not so subtly jerked her head back towards the hallway she’d just come from.
“Emma-” Regina snarled as she started backing out of the room.
“I’d like a minute with my guitarist if you don’t mind,” Emma said through gritted teeth, giving Jones an insincere smile that had his own widening in glee.
“Oh, do let them go, Your Majesty,” Jones said with a laugh. “I believe we still need to discuss certain terms and conditions of this little arrangement.”
Emma opened her mouth to argue that nothing was decided when Ruby pushed her fully into the hallway with surprising strength in her uninjured arm.
“Are you fucking kidding me Ruby?” She hissed as soon as the doors closed behind them. “Killian Jones?!”
“So you obviously know there’s no need for him to audition,” Ruby said with a sly smile. “I mean you have seen him in concert four, no fi-”
She covered Ruby’s mouth with her hand, shushing her as she pushed her further down the hallway.  They only made it three steps before Ruby licked her palm, cackling with glee when she yanked her hand back, disgusted.
“It’s not gonna happen.”
“Come on.  He can play, he’s available and he knows the songs.  This is the best you’re going to get and you know it,” Ruby stated proudly, her grin smug.
“The best,” Emma muttered, shaking her head and trying to keep hold of her temper. “The best?  Jesus Christ, Ruby, the second he steps out on stage it’s not my show anymore, it’s his.  I have worked too fucking long and hard for that asshole to come in and take it all from me in some bid to reclaim his glory.”
“Oh, oh no, Emma, that’s totally not at all what this is,” Ruby whispered, her face pale and looking stricken. “He owed me, big time, and I obviously didn’t think about any of that when I called it in.  Look, don’t repeat this to anyone.  Like, anyone.  But Killian hasn’t played in public since he got out of rehab.  That he even agreed to do this is I think big enough for him.  He’s not looking to steal the spotlight.”
“Then why is he here?” Emma asked, slightly mollified but still seething.
“He misses playing for an audience but I think he has a kind of block or something about going for it on his own,” Ruby said softly.  She gave a half-hearted shrug, “I’m just trying to help out two friends in one go.”
The last of her anger drained away at the sincerity in Ruby’s voice.  It wasn’t often that Ruby was the serious one in their friendship but when she was Emma always paid attention.  If she hadn’t she’d have still been waiting tables at Granny’s Diner and only playing her guitar at barbeques and bonfires for their small group of friends at home.  She also wouldn’t have been able to call Storybrooke home for that matter.
No longer angry but still infinitely annoyed she tipped her head back and let out a sigh, “Fine I’ll give him a chance on two conditions.”
“Excellent!” Ruby crowed.  Emma dropped her gaze back down and raised a brow at her, “Whatever the conditions he’ll totally do it.  He wants this, just doesn’t know how badly he does until you start making him jump through hoops to prove it to you.”
“Oh, only one of the conditions is for him,” Emma said with a smirk.
Ruby’s eyes widened, “What?  Why do I have to prove myself?”
“You don’t.  I just want to know how you can call Killian Jones, one of the most famous guitarists-”
“Who you had a poster of on your wall,” Ruby broke in with wiggling eyebrows and a giddy grin, “and a laminated photo in your-”
“Who had a very public and very destructive drug and alcohol problem, your friend,” Emma continued pointedly.
Ruby’s grin faded, “He was in the same rehab facility as my mom.  Well, one of them.  On one of her bad days I went for a walk around the gardens to cool my head a little and recognized him.  Had a bit of a fangirl moment, if I’m being honest.  Not exactly my finest moment since he was there to get his life back together and I go gushing about how great I thought he was before it all went to shit.  I could tell he was humoring me until I started talking about gigs and asking him how to improve my playing, then his eyes kinda lit up and he started offering me advice and some tricks for the road.  So whenever I went to visit my mom I would also stop by to talk to him about music.
“After my mom decided she was done being sober, again, I still went by to see him.  He needed a friend and I guess I needed to believe that someone could actually follow through with getting clean.  When he got out we stayed in touch.  Just a ‘hi, how’re you doing’ text every so often.  Until, of course, the arm thing happened.”
“And you never mentioned it because…?”
“I wanted to but it seemed-” Ruby shrugged, “like an invasion of privacy, somehow?”
Emma nodded, getting what Ruby meant but still a little hurt that she’d kept it from her.  She’d only admit it on threat of death having met him but Jones had been her number one celebrity crush since she’d discovered Realm of Jewels in her senior year of high school.  Ruby was a witness to it then and clearly still remembered that embarrassing fact.  Then it occurred to her that there were dark parts of her life that she wouldn’t want shared with a fan no matter how close of a friend Ruby was with them.  She nodded again, fully accepting the truth of what Ruby had told her.
“I’m not going to go easy on him,” she warned, spinning on her heel and walking back to the rehearsal room.
Ruby laughed, “I would have been suspicious if you did.  So what are you going to make him do?”
“You’ll see,” she said cryptically with a grin before opening the door.
“Finally,” Regina muttered as they walked back in.  She pointed a perfectly manicured finger at Emma, “You may be a favorite of the owners here but we’re still paying for every minute this room has people in it.  So start playing or find somewhere else to work out your little grievances.”
“Sorry, sorry,” Emma apologized again, knowing that if there was something that pissed Regina off more than wasted time it was wasted money.
She felt Killian’s eyes on her as she greeted Tink and Will before moving to the piano.  It was like a phantom pressure between her shoulder blades that she was trying her best to ignore.  If he was trying to unsettle her she wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction and if he was trying to figure her out she wasn’t going to make it easy for him.  When she finally had all her things set up how she wanted and ignoring him was no longer an option she turned to face him, valiantly trying to hide that she was still slightly shocked and unnerved that he was there.
“Ruby said that you’re a session guitarist now,” she began without preamble, hoping to gain whatever upper hand she could.
“I may not be hurting for cash, love, but a man does like to keep busy,” his voice dipped low at the end of his statement.  Paired with a raised brow and feral grin she had to hold back a snort of amusement at his innuendo.
“Not your love,” she shot back dismissively, “She also said that you’ve played on my albums?”
His grin faltered, “Aye.”
“And would you say you enjoyed the songs you recorded or were they just a forgettable few in a long set of recordings to… keep you busy?”
There was the sound of a violent snort and then a deep spluttering a cough that belonged to Will from behind her.  Out of the corner of her eye she saw Ruby rolling her eyes at her and Regina throwing up her hands in exasperation.  She kept her face impassive and gaze on Killian, pleased to see him fidget and scratch behind his ear in what had to be nervousness.
“Erm, well when I first recorded one of your songs I’ll admit I had no clue who you were and no interest in discovering more,” Killian admitted but instead of dropping his eyes he held her gaze. “Then I had the fortune of recording another one and found myself intrigued.  I’ve listened to everything you’ve released up ‘til now and I’ve enjoyed all of it, not just what I was hired to play.”
“Okay then,” she said as cooly as she could, despite the giddiness and disbelief running through her knowing that he liked her music. “Now I hope you don’t mind but I’d like to hear you play something.”
“Play something?” He repeated, flabbergasted.
“Just a few different songs,” she said innocently, “so I know you’ll be a good fit.”
His mouth opened and closed several times before he shot an incredulous look at Ruby.  Emma could barely hold in her laughter as Ruby shrugged and said nothing.
“Problem, Jones?”
He turned back to her, looking incredulous, “Let me get this straight, Swan, you can quote an article from Rolling Stone that was released well over a decade ago about my playing and you want me to audition?”
“Only if you want the gig,” she said with a shrug.
She could see the muscle in Killian’s jaw jumping, though she wasn’t sure if it was from annoyance or contemplation.  Either way it gave her a little inspiration.  While he continued to stew she pulled out her phone and did a quick internet search for what she needed.
“Fine, love,” he said, drawing her attention back to him.  He picked up his guitar and slid the strap over his head. “What would you like to hear?”
“Can you read music?” She asked with honest curiosity.
“I can,” he said warily.
“Good-” she turned to Ruby, “I need your Ipad.”
Ruby gave her a calculating look before slowly extracting the tablet out of her purse and handing it over.  Emma gave her what she hoped was a look of innocence before pulling up what she needed and handing it over to Killian.
“Layla?  A classic-” he smirked and handed her back the Ipad, “and one I already know by heart.”
With that he started playing, amazingly, and Emma almost didn’t have the heart to stop him.  Almost.
“Whoa there, Jones,” she said loudly, waving her hands for him to stop.  He did with a discordant note and stared at her in confusion.  She handed back the Ipad, “I wanted you to play this.”
He looked at it and then back at her, his brow furrowing even more, “But I was.”
“No, you didn’t read the music-” she wiggled the Ipad at him, “You were playing the lead.  I want to hear you play the rhythm.”
“Ah,” he breathed, a look of bemusement and something that was too much like awe replacing his confusion, “I see.”
From there he played every unflashy guitar part she could throw at him.  He didn’t complain and his annoyance didn’t make a reappearance.  The others listened happily and even offered suggestions, though Regina had left with a disgusted huff after the fourth song.  They passed the tablet back and forth several times before she decided to end the teasing with one of her favorites.
Killian snorted when he saw her choice, “You do know that two great guitarists play on this one right?  Even playing rhythm on this one is an honor.  Although, the same should have been said for Layla, but I have enjoyed this little challenge.”
“Good to know,” she said, smiling. “I don’t want you to play rhythm on this one though.  If you don’t mind.”
“It would be my honor,” he hummed, handing her back the Ipad.
The chatter in the room fell silent as the familiar chords of While My Guitar Gently Weeps swept through the room.  Emma closed her eyes and let the music wash over her.  There was only one constant in her life and it was music, first listening, then playing, and finally creating.  It had never sent her back, never sent her to prison, and never forced her to send her child away.  As Killian played the last notes she felt the familiar pang of melancholy the song invoked in her but made sure the smile she gave him when she opened her eyes was genuine.
“Thanks.”
“Shouldn’t I be thanking you for giving me the opportunity?  I’ve never had to audition before-”
“Lucky git,” Will grumbled as he ambled by them, heading toward the snack table on one side of the room.
“Will Scarlet, drums, constant pain in the ass but our pain in the ass,” Emma commented lightly, batting away the Red Vine Will had tossed at her.  She hitched her thumb over her shoulder to where she’d last noticed Tink, “That’s Tink Greene, bassist, she’s small but she’ll knock you out if you mess with the current rotation of romance novels she’ll be bringing on the bus.”
Killian raised a brow at her, “I can’t quite tell by your tone but am I to believe I got the gig?”
“You had the gig as soon as she saw your pretty face and hot ass,” Ruby called out from her spot on the couch, causing Emma’s cheeks to heat up and Killian’s lip to curl.
“Yeah, well-” she cleared her throat, “We’ve, uh, already used up our reserved time for today and Regina won’t be happy if we stay late, even if we actually rehearse.  We’ve got a couple more weeks of rehearsals on Mondays and Fridays and then it’ll be almost every day until the tour starts.  If you need somewhere to stay just let Regina know and she’ll book the hotel room or whatever.”
“So I got the gig?” Killian pressed, his blue eyes glittering in mirth.
“You got the gig,” she sighed, rolling her eyes at his toothy grin. Then she let her features settle into what she hoped was a menacing look, “There’s some conditions.”
“Of course,” he said, nodding sagely.
“Your name isn’t going to be in any of the advertising, or brought up in interviews, and absolutely not on any of the damn marquees.  You’re being hired as a guitarist in my backing band, not as the feature player.”
He nodded again but with understanding, “Of course, I have no desire to upstage you or hijack the tour for my own needs.”
“Good,” she said, slightly surprised he agreed so easily. “This is also temporary.  Once Ruby gets the all clear from her doctor she’s back and you’re out.”
“As I wouldn’t want to keep a fellow musician, or friend, out of work I will happily step aside-” he gave a little bow that she refused to see as charming.
“And last, no groupies on the bus,” she added, fighting to keep her face impassive and the blush that threatened from pinkening her cheeks.
It had never been a set rule, in fact it was one they’d each bent a little one time or another, but a weird pressure built in the back of her neck at the thought of having to see and listen to Killian with some doe eyed fan.  Not that she cared.  She just didn’t want to get to know him that intimately, even if it was by proxy, when she barely knew him as anyone other than the rock star she’d had a crush in high school.
His jaw clenched almost imperceptibly before he laughed.  It didn’t sound forced or off but somehow Emma knew it was fake all the same.
“Understood, love.”
“Still not your love-” she held out her hand and his hand was calloused and warm when he grasped it, “Welcome to the band.”

Unarmed
The case has been a rollercoaster for the squad and even the DA’s office. Every time they thought they had the guy something didn’t add up. They narrowed it down to fundraising events in midtown but realized during last nights UC sting that it wasn’t just any event. It was Counselor Carisi who realized the connection wasn’t the events but the catering company. Tonight they were trying again using Amanda as bait since she fit the last three victim’s profile.
Leaning against the squad car she kept going over it in her head trying to figure out where things went so wrong. She thought they had their guy, the waiter had flirted with her and offered to “make her night more fun” if she would meet him in the hallway. She should have known when he didn’t show but it still took her by surprise when the gunman grabbed her and dragged her to the back of the kitchen. She sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose trying to process it all. He knew what he was doing, timed it just right as the cake came out and the champagne bottles were popping. No one  heard her scream and everyone had lost their visual in the crowd. After what felt like forever she heard Benson yell to Carisi to stay back, that he was unarmed but of course he didn’t listen.
Amanda looks down at her shaking hands then puts them back in her coat pockets. She knows the blood is gone but she swears her hands looked stained. She tried to go with him but Fin volunteered reminding her that she need to stay to give her statement. She would have put up a bigger fight but Carisi was awake and assured her he was fine.
“Hey Fin just called me, Carisi will be ok. Luckily he had the vest and it caught the first bullet the second one just grazed his arm” Liv tells her as she steps in front of the detective.
Amanda nods “He should have stayed back” she says as she stares off towards the crowd of officers and detectives. Refusing to make eye contact, she’s holding on by a thread. She didn’t realized he had been hit in the vest too.
“You’re not wrong but would you have stayed back if it was him?” She asks.
“He’s not a cop anymore” Amanda says through gritted teeth now looking at her.
Captain Benson turns and leans against the car with her “I know but you will always be his partner..that doesn’t just go away” she tells her. Amanda can hear the sadness in Liv’s voice. She knows she is speaking from experience.
Amanda wipes a tear threatening to fall.
“Hey Captain, we have a problem” Officer Tamin tells them as she walks up.
“What’s going on?” Captain Benson asks.
“Well, Detective Rollins wasn’t wrong. The waiter was in on it, they were working as a team there is a bunch of texts between him and the gunman” she explains.
Rollins pushes herself off the car “and where is he now” she asks looking around the area.
“In the wind, the officer taking the catering staff’s statements said he was unable to locate him” she says.
Benson pulls out her phone and sends a quick text to Fin telling him to get back to the squad room.
“Ok, Officer Tamin Fin will meet you at the squad room to start tracking down any information we have on him. We should be able to track the phone number” Benson tells her
“Captain I can” Amanda starts
“Amanda you’ve had a lot happen” Liv starts
“Captain I’m fine and we need all hands on deck” Amanda tells her
“Fine, give your statement then interview the staff someone had to know more about his guy” She responds.
_______________________________________________________________________
___________
Amanda felt almost guilty that she went home instead of going to check on Carisi but after giving her statement they had found a lead on the waiter. By the time they tracked him down and arrested him it was early morning. She was exhausted and Captain Benson had let her know in no certain terms was she was not to be back in the squad room for another twenty-four hours. She hoped to grab a quick shower and a nap before the girls woke up but was disappointed to only get the shower before hearing the knock at the door.
She wasn’t surprised when she opened the door to find him standing there. She wants to yell at him, tell him how stupid it was to run in after her. But he not only looks tired but defeated and her concern pushes her anger aside for the moment.
“Carisi, how are you feeling?” She asks as she motions for him to come into the apartment.
He shrugs and makes his way towards her kitchen table, taking off his jacket and folding it over a chair. She fights her anger that flares up when she sees his arm in a sling, she knows its more fear then anger.
“I’m fine it just grazed me, I really don’t need this stupid sling” he tells her.
She nods walking over and leaning against the back of the sofa. She feels like she needs to keep some distance so she can observe him better. She notices the circles under his eyes and his overall appearance isn’t as put together as he normally has it. He sits down and adjusts the sling slightly grimacing.
“I think the bruise from the vest hurts worse” he tells her.
“Better then the alternative” she quickly replies and he doesn’t look at her but nods.
“Have you slept any?” She asks concern sweeping through her as she realizes how not ok he really does look.
He runs his hand over his face and just stares down at the floor. When he looks up at her she feels her breath catch as she sees tears in his eyes. She doesn’t remember moving but she is now sitting in the chair across from him, putting her hand on his shoulder.
“Sonny… Hey look at me. What is going on?” she asks as she moves her hand over his shoulder trying to comfort him.
He shakes his head “I’m going to put in my notice at the DA’s office” he tells her.
She straightens up and gives him confused look. She would be lying if she wasn’t somewhat excited about the possibility but she knows that this isn’t right. He is just emotional and he would regret it later on. She sighs.
“Ok, I hear you but lets take a breath here. Carisi this isn’t an opportunity that just comes up all the time” she tries to gently guide this discussion.
He shakes his head as she looks down and notices his hands are trembling. She takes them in hers before moving forward and embraces him in a hug. She almost breaks down at the sob that escape him.
“Amanda I don’t want to experience this feeling ever again” he tells her.
She slowly pulls away but keeps ahold of his hands. “I know it’s scary getting shot, trust me. But Carisi you're ok and honestly in your new position that shouldn’t happen again” she tries to explain but he just shake his head.
“I’m not talking about getting shot, I don’t care about that” he says.
“well, you should! What the hell where you thinking going in unarmed” she responds letting go of his hands and sitting back in the chair. She wasn’t going to snap at him but how could he not care about getting shot.
He looks up at her “He had you” is all he says before running his hand through his hair and leaning back in the chair.
“Carisi, I was fine. We had backup” she tells him defensively.
“It was you” he says staring at her making her shift uncomfortably in her chair. She knows what he is saying but isn’t sure she is ready for that conversation.
“Carisi I know I came at you about not being by my side but that doesn’t mean you should be risking your…”
“Stop” he interrupts her “you don’t know what it feels like to be just standing there on the outside as a gunman has someone you lo…” He stops and looks away as she stares at him. She’s surprised at how apart of her wants him to finish that sentence.
“you care about” he finishes.
“Sonny I get it but you can’t quit the DA’s office. You’ve worked too hard, you deserve your shot” she tells him leaning back down and grabbing his hands again. “You can’t quit” she tells him again.
He looks back up at her and seems to take in her advice. “Amanda I can’t lose you” he tells her. She sighs and in a situation that would normally scare the hell out of her she feels comfortable and confident even. Because she knows the feeling and she can’t pretend that she wouldn’t have done the same thing for him.
“You didn’t, and you won’t. You are where you need to be in that office. I’m where I’m supposed to be…” She tells him and he starts to interrupt but she holds up her hand asking him to let her finish. She smiles “and we are where we are supposed to be” she says squeezing his hand.
She sees him relax for the first time since she opened the door and she feels herself relax since seeing him enter that kitchen. He’s ok and that’s all she thinks about  as she leans towards him and captures his lips. She smiles when he quickly responds. He uses his good arm and wraps it around he waist pulling her onto his lap. She comes willingly as she slides her arms around his neck. When they break for air she looks at him not able to hide her smile before resting her head on his shoulder.
“You scared the hell outta me” she tells him.  He just hums in response before turning and kissing the top of her head.
“I can’t apologize” he whispers
She just nods “I know” she tells him as she shifts and freezes as he groans in pain.
She quickly stands up looking at his arm “I’m sorry, are you ok” she says panicking. He reaches back out towards her and she automatically moves to him.
“Its fine. I’m fine” he tells her standing up stepping closer to her as she wraps her arms round him. They stand there holding each other feeling comfort that their both ok from the past day’s events. He hugs her a little tighter and sighs  “As much as I don’t want to leave this moment, I think we should get some rest” he tells her and she leans back and nods “Agreed”.
He just stares at her in confusion as she starts walking towards the hallway. She stops and turns towards him “are you coming?” She asks and can’t help but laugh as his mouth drops open. “I think we could both use a good nap” she tells him trying not to smirk at him. He smiles and nods before following her to the bedroom. Exhaustion takes over as they both fall asleep in each other’s arms. Exactly where they are supposed to be.

Headcanon: If Piper made a coming out video (Piper x Tara)
[Yes lads, this is another Tiper piece, with a little bit of a different format. She won't mention her by name, but now you'll know who she's referring to.]
Also, to keep this shorter on the dash, I’ve added the “keep reading” cut after the intro! Sorry for not adding this before! Also this took me 2 months to finish it be like that sometimes tho
Piper: [mellow] Hi guys...
[After saying that shyly, she For about 10 seconds, Piper, while sitting down, stares at the camera and then shifts her focus to her laptop screen, examining how she looks with a rare casual outfit while contemplating on her next set of words.]
Piper: So I don't think anybody's ever gonna see this. I highly doubt in God's name that I'm ever gonna post this somewhere,
[Piper slightly chuckles at her own statement, but quickly shifts back to her serious tone]
Piper: ...but I have to say it. To somebody--er, somethin' rather.
[She chuckles once again]
Piper: As a lot of people know, I'm...well, not poor. I grew up very wealthy, and very fortunate.
Piper: [Her tone raises slightly] So damn fortunate that I got bored of it! [Yet another chuckle] Kiddin', kiddin', but I didn't feel like I had a life to live, uh, I didn't feel free, is a better way to say it. I kinda knew as a kid that I was missing a lil' somethin' in my life. Of course when I was a little child I didn't get this dang philosophical, but it was always there. And I know, I know. I pro'lly sound privileged as hell, but at the end of the day I'm grateful for everything I've endured thus far, but that's not the point here.
[Piper lets out a large sigh before continuing with her story]
Piper: My momma and poppa...though I love 'em to death, God bless their hearts, they wanted me to get married as soon as I can. I was...well...I ain't sure if this is how you say it but, conditioned to think that, that um...I was gonna get married...like a normal girl would! [Pause]
Piper: [Sarcastically] Well, I'm still not married!
[Piper pauses to drink the water cup beside her and then looks at the camera again for a couple moments before continuing]
Piper: And I really wasn't sure why I felt like nobody ever felt like they were...you know...the one! I mean, my life is already so dang crazy, I don't brawl for money or fame, but to, uh, release all the anger within me--to make up for all the times I couldn't resist what I was told to do. The funny thing is...I'm well over the adult age--and I still don't feel so free. I suppose I'm independent, but not exactly...free. If that makes sense.
[About to talk about the most serious part of her life, Piper lets out another big sigh]
Piper: I was set up with many different men by my family, and most of them were very kind and courteous toward me. They were all very good men, but fallin' in love with them was very hard for me to do--it ain't somethin' that came naturally. Well, I ain't been in love for a very very long time. Last time I was in love--it was many years ago--it didn't seem to work out, and lookin' back, it's hard for me to understand why things happened the way they did. Maybe it truly wasn't meant to be, I don't know, but the stars...didn't align. [quietly] They...uh...never did. But anyway, now it's a different time for the rest of the world; we're becomin' more open to each other and we're becomin' more accepting of things I couldn't have imagined being okay when I was growin' up. I'm talkin' about...being gay.
[Nervously, Piper laughs quietly to lighten the mood for herself]
Piper: Being gay, in my household and my family...was...unheard of. I'd like to say even forbidden. We're Christians and they said we can't be gay. I don't even know who the hell "they" is, but it was made sure of that I cannot be gay. It was even an insult I heard growin' up--and my, my, people thought it was a brutal word. Many of my classmates used to say it left n' right thinkin' that their dignities would be stripped for good! And frankly, because of the cruel world we live in, I thought bein' gay was weird, not normal, sinful even. 'Cause to everybody else it was, and I was predetermined to think the same.
[Piper suddenly starts smiling widely out of nowhere, and starts to chuckle, thinking fondly of the next thing she is about to say.]
Piper: Sorry! I get pretty damn giddy thinkin' about this part. I'm just...well I'll just tell you. So anyway, fast forward to present day. I brawled for the hell of it, just for fun. I thought I was straight but life didn't treat me very well.
[Piper suddenly remembers this aspect of her life and the mood shifts back to its original serious tone, but slightly more mellow.]
Piper: I got shit everyday. Sometimes just for breathin'. And it sucked for me. I didn't fit in because people were scared o' me. I was lonely, I was sad, I was...empty to the point where I thought disappearin' would be the answer. It wasn't great to be me at the time. There were such beautiful people havin' the time of their lives out in the battlefield--some o' them so madly in love with either each other or with life as a whole. And I was as jealous as a girl could be. I wanted that so darn badly that my anger built up too much to the point where I just shut everyone out. I also became too violent out in the battlefield and accidentally physically hurt too many people that didn't deserve a scratch. It began to all be too much.
[Piper then remembered the good part about her story, and she starts smiling brightly once again]
Piper: Anyway, this is what you’ve been waiting for, them little happy moments! It’s still a secret, sorta. But at least I can talk about it. So, um, I met this lovely lady in town one day, and I was feelin’ kinda hopeless so I went to talk to her about stuff, ‘cause I had no one. I thought I was a lil mad for just goin’ to some random stranger and ask ‘em about what I should do about my sad ol’ life. And to my surprise she read me like a book...with her cards! [laughs] It was crazy! She just clicked with me so fast, it was somethin’ I never felt before. You know, it made my heart race a lil.
[She laughs again, except more nervously]
Piper: I’m actually a little nervous right now talkin' about her 'cause it's so scary but, obviously what we have was more than what meets the eye! [She laughs nervously again, but then continues to smile] I'm so nervous talkin' about this because it was against everythin' I knew. It didn't feel right at all, but my feelin's couldn't take it anymore. I was already so restricted in my normal life and everythin' prior to it, I couldn't let this opportunity to be happy go. Again, I thought I was a fool tellin' er how I felt. I mean, what if she wasn't...you know?! But like I said my own happiness was on the line. All the signs added up, for some odd reason I was confident enough that my chances were high. Ah, haha...my mom always taught me to shoot my shot...ahh she might be a lil' disappointed at me though! Well anyway, that new lovely lady with a mask told me she felt the same, and at that moment I never felt more free in my life. I was so scared to my stomach, I was scared of rejection, not only from her but from the rest of the world. Even though it felt so wrong to do, the feeling afterward felt so right.
[Piper takes a short breath and takes a sip of water.]
Piper: Well, I've been ramblin' and ramblin' but I will say this last thing. Love can fix a lot of things--not everythin', but a lot. I still got my issues, life ain't gonna be dandy forever just 'cause I found my lover, but consider this: do things because of love, doesn't gotta be that icky, cheesy type o' love that I was talkin' to you about, but it could be your family, your friends, whoever or whatever, alright! I realized I brawl 'cause I hated myself, not 'cause I loved the adrenaline or the glory. I also realized that I denied this part of me for so long cause I was scared, and I hated feelin' more outcasted than I usually had. I'm still tryin' my best to set myself free, but it's a process that became a little better for me to handle. Just don't do things outta hate or outta fear, it ain't good for you, it ain't good for nobody.
[Piper's cell phone rings, once she finishes her sentence, she picks it up]
Piper: [on the phone] Hey love! How much did you earn today? [She smiles as the person on the other end speaks] That's good. I would be more than happy help you if you wanted, it's what I should do for you, but you keep on sayin' no! [Inaudibly, the person on the other end speaks as she laughs happily]
Piper: [on the phone] I'll come by later for sure! I don't exactly need a readin' though, I'd just love to talk normally. Did you want to...
[Piper uses her cursor to stop the recording before she could finish her question to the person on the other side of the line.]
...
And scene. I hope you enjoyed it! This was a long time coming but I'm so happy I was able to finish it!

And I'll still love you. (Klaus Goldstein x Reader *AU*)
Sequel to Mess me up.
In which Klaus gets back with his ex.
Jk I'd never 😂👌🏻
Genre: Angst/some fluff?
A/N: This is long, and I mean long, so strap yourselves in I guess? CuZ iTs A lOnG aSs RiDe (A Mark Lee tribute 👌🏻)
Also guys we have a lil Cedric (from BIR) cameo here so um idk there's that ig 😂😂
(Second Person Point of View)
"Okay, one day left till finals; you guys know what that means!" Zeus smirks, though the only one that knew what that means was apparently Luca.
"This time; we're not getting kicked out of the VIP lounge." Luca points an accusing finger at Zeus.
"It's not my fault you lied about our identities without letting me know that I was a famous producer and not just a fucking college student!" Zeus growls.
The intense argument only grew louder from the two opposite sides of the table, isolating you and Klaus from the rest of the group in a strange way. Everyone knew to ignore when Luca and Zeus started arguing, so Amelia and Guy - on the other side of the table - were already having a separate conversation, leaving you and Klaus in an awkward silence (If you ignore the two yelling dorks, of course).
As frustrating as the awkwardness is, you'd already decided to ignore the blond ever since the incident, and no amount of awkward can change that.
It'd been around five days since you even looked him in the face, and he didn't seem to be planning to fix anything. Sure, he constantly looks uncomfortable, and you're sure he knows he fucked up, but that doesn't change his lack of attempts to even apologise properly.
"Hey, what's up, you guys?" Scarlett beams, sitting next to you. Elias, Yukiya, and Augustus take seats around the table as well. "Sigurd's still busy with some work at the library, but he'll be here soon." She announces.
"Anyway, this time we're not going into the VIP lounge; you can get kicked out alone if you want to, but I'd like to keep my dignity!" Zeus crosses his arms.
"Which club are we visiting anyway?" Luca looks around the table.
"None! We're supposed to be studying!" Klaus snaps, earning confused looks from everyone. Sure, it was a logical statement, but his sudden outburst left everyone at a loss of words.
"Don't be such a killjoy." Sigurd's voice is followed by a chuckle. He places himself in the empty seat between you and Klaus; however, you could still feel Klaus stare at you for a bit after it.
"He's right though. Finals start in like two days.." Yukiya states, to which Elias nods.
"Yeah, I need to revise." The younger blond agrees.
"It starts in a week for Amelia, Guy, Augustus, and I." Scarlett shrugs.
"Yeah, we're in." Guy grins.
"Sorry, guys, I don't think Yukiya and I will be joining; we still have stuff to study." Elias gives one of those polite frowns, where you know he's not disappointed about missing out on any of that. Knowing Elias, you can tell he's probably pleased to spend his day in a library instead of a club, and normally, you'd agree; you enjoy peace, and it's never too fun to be in crowded places.
However, you need to do something fun to get your mind off of Klaus. If he's gonna be a dick then so be it; you have to move on.
"I'm coming." You shrug. Part of you wanted to turn to check Klaus's reaction, but you stayed composed.
"What?!" He semi-shouts, but immediately clasps his hand over his mouth, clearly embarrassed by his accidentally loud reaction. He clears his throat, "I mean, you're in the same uni as these dumbasses and I; you start finals the day after tomorrow! What do you mean you'll go clubbing today? You should be studying!"
"What makes you think I have any studying left? I'm already done." You weren't gonna bring it up. You really weren't. Not in front of everyone too, but before you could think it through, you found yourself quoting him from that night. And it wasn't a lie either, you spent your days binge studying to keep your mind busy, so at this point, you really needed something else to keep you occupied.
Something flashes in his eyes, recognition maybe: you weren't sure, but either way, he stays silent. And perhaps you should've left it at that, but the built up anger inside you is now clawing its way out.
"Plus, even if I haven't finished studying; what is it to you?! Who even are you to object and involve yourself in my life?! Mind your own business!" He, once again, doesn't respond, but this time it wasn't because he was caught off guard. He just seemed slightly broken, but in the midst of the fury and anguish you felt, you couldn't care that much.
"Um, what's up with the weird tension between you guys?" Zeus lets out a nervous laugh. If Zeus was giving nervous laughs then it was definitely obvious to everyone how serious whatever is between you and Klaus.
"Haven't you two been ignoring each other a bit too? Like you guys used to be super close." Augustus points out.
Amelia's eyes meet yours, and she immediately gets the memo. "You guys are crazy; they're fine! They've always argued a lot; it's how they are! Can we focus on who's coming and who's not?" You give her a small smile, as to say thank you.
Scarlett catches on to the silent conversation between you and Amelia, immediately joining in. "Yeah, don't worry too much; we've seen it happen a lot! So, yeah, let's just focus on what's important here."
"Uh, sure." Zeus lets it go. Luca, Guy, and Augustus were smarter than that, unfortunately; they remained skeptic. Regardless, none of them make any further comments.
"I've also done my studying, so I'm good to go, as well." Sigurd shoots you a wink, earning a giggle in return. A genuine one, which you were thankful for. It made you relax a little after that rage you let loose on the blond jerk.
Klaus slams his fist on the table, "Fine. I'm coming too."
"Man, could you fucking chill; you're starting to sound scary. More so than normal." Luca complains but moves on to deciding the time and place to meet.
Your eyes drift to Klaus, who was already looking. You quickly look away, unsure why your heart suddenly leaped into your throat.
You avoided looking in his direction for the rest of the gathering.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"You're not gonna tell me what's up with you and Klaus?" Scarlett glances at you before looking back at her own reflection and applying highlighter.
Amelia sticks her head out the bathroom door, one eye lined perfectly till the wing while the other was left with a random stray streak as if she rushed to the door at hearing Scarlett's statement, and in the process fucked over her left eye. Of course you know that's exactly what she did.
"Um, excuse you? I think you mean us??"
Scarlett sighs, "You're not gonna tell us what's up with you and Klaus?"
"Nothing." You apply your favourite lipstick, absolutely pleased it goes perfectly with your dress. At least one thing is going right here.
Scarlett frowns slightly, but doesn't push it.
"You're so full of shit." Amelia chuckles before pulling herself back inside.
You roll your eyes at her, but a small smile tugs at your lips.
"Who's picking us up?" You wonder.
Scarlett clears her throat. "Well, we initially asked Sigurd, I swear, but...well, um, Klaus insisted..."
"That's fine." You put on your best nonchalant expression.
As if he calculated exactly when to arrive, Klaus calls Amelia's phone the second you're done fixing your hair, aka the last step to getting ready. Excluding shoes, of course.
"Can someone pick up? My hands are busy!" Amelia yells from the bathroom.
You glance at Scarlett. Also still busy.
Not wanting to sound even more suspicious, you force yourself to pick up. "Hello?"
"He-..(Y/N)?"
You swallow awkwardly, "um, yeah, they're not done yet. Are you here? Like, um, to pick us up?"
"No, I'm here to hand you your mail, (Y/N)." You don't need to see him to know he's rolling his eyes.
"I meant are you here already?"
"Yeah."
Amelia sticks her head outside the bathroom again, this time with both eyes looking perfect. "Invite him up here." She smirks, wiggling her eyebrows. "Unless, of course, you have a problem with Klaus being in your apartment."
You throw a pillow, and it barely misses her face.
"Hey! That could've ruined my make up!" She yells but doesn't come back out again.
You considered inviting him like she said, but just the thought of it brought back too many unwelcomed memories. You blushed and immediately decided against it.
"Hello?"
"Oh, sorry, um, I'll just come down and keep your company till they're done, okay? Bye!" You hang up, leaving him no chance to reply. It was already awkward enough.
You slip your feet into your high heels, grab your purse, and head outside- not forgetting to remind the girls to lock the door before leaving.
If it were for you to decide, you'd let the jerk rot in his car as he waits for the three of you, but for the sake of letting things go smoothly, you decide it's for the best to try to make it seem like you don't wanna punch Klaus in the face.
Quickly enough, you spot his car. Also quickly enough, you notice the familiar fluffy, blonde curls you were so used to running your hands through. He looks as handsome as usual, but that hurt you in a different way this time. Sure, everytime you noticed how attracted to him you are, you'd be upset, solely because he's not yours to admire this way. However, today, it hurts you because everytime you look at these perfectly drawn features, a few written words come to mind.
He notices your presence but says nothing. He just stares at you with an unreadable expression.
Not wanting to look odd just standing in front of your building's door, you stiffly walk to his car as fast as you can without face planting into cement.
You take a back seat and say nothing.
Klaus lets out a slight, humourless laugh. "What's that? A back seat? You always call shotgun."
"Wasn't feeling it." You shrug and pull out your phone, using it as your own personal don't talk to me sign.
Unfortunately, Klaus doesn't care about any signs you're giving if it doesn't match his desires. "You look pretty, but with a dress like that, people will mistake you for a prostitute. Couldn't you wear something more revealing??" His voice dripped with irritation, an irritation you couldn't understand.
"Excuse me? My dress is fine; not everyone is a pervert, but you wouldn't know, would you?!" You clap back, not in the mood to let him take out his anger on you.
"Are you trying to call me a pervert?" He laughs in disbelief.
"I didn't say that, but, hey, if the shoe fits, feel free to wear it."
"That's what I get for trying to make sure no one hurts you?" He complains.
"Well, too bad you already did." You spat, tears blinding you momentarily. You hated yourself for letting this escape your lips, but it ended up silencing both of you for a few moments, allowing you to regain composure before the girls hop into the car.
"Uh, what's up with the weird vibe?" Amelia raises an eyebrow.
Scarlett sighs from the front seat, "I don't even know anymore."
Neither Klaus or you respond, so, naturally, the conversation died, leading to a rather quiet ride, excluding Scarlett and Amelia's countless attempts at making it less awkward.
"Finally! I felt like I'd suffocate inside from the tension!" Amelia stretches her arms happily once she leaves the car. It's safe to say...she wasn't the only one happy to exit the metal cage of awkward.
You meet up with the rest of the group before going inside, which wasn't all that helpful, since you lost each other fairly quickly.
Thankfully, Amelia and Scarlett were still with you, and finally, you were ready to block all thoughts of a certain blond and enjoy your life for the time being.
As planned, the three of you were already singing and dancing your hearts out after a few drinks, not a care in the world. You didn't have time to think about what Klaus is doing or how much of a dick he was to you.
Well, until a familiar guy approaches you. And perhaps Klaus shouldn't have been the one your mind drifted to, but that didn't stop you from letting the blond you'd ignored all year try to flirt with you for the billionth time.
"(Y/N)! Didn't think I'd see you here!" Cedric yells over the music.
You tried your best not to roll your eyes, "Yeah, me neither."
"Wanna dance?"
"I'm sure you can see I'm already danc-" both girls nudge you. "Sure. I'd love to dance." You force a smile, not skipping glaring at the girls before following Cedric a little further away from them. You weren't sure why he dragged you away, but you also couldn't care less; being near him was already annoying enough, so it really didn't matter.
The only reason you found yourself agreeing to this nonsense is that you know how much Klaus dislikes it when Cedric flirts with you. He always claimed that Cedric only cares about looks and that you should stay away from him, which normally you do. Mostly because you don't enjoy his personality, or the lack thereof.
However, something about being with the guy Klaus would most hate for you to be with just made you feel pleasure. It was like you wanted to piss him off, even though he really couldn't see you anyway, but you so desperately wish he would.
The dancing got really awkward really quickly. Cedric was already getting touchy, and he didn't seem to catch on to how uncomfortable you felt.
"Could you not fucking do that?!" You aggressively push his hand away from you.
He frowns, "Do what? We're just dancing together. You agreed to that."
"I didn't agree to you groping me though, did I?"
Before he could respond, your eyes drifted to Klaus, who was sitting at the bar. He'd just spotted you.
And maybe common sense would say to just ignore him.
But no.
You look Cedric in the eye, pull his face closer to you, and smash your lips together. You can tell he was confused but quickly recovered, using both hands to pull you closer to him by the waist.
This could've went on for longer if you weren't harshly yanked away from the blond.
"What's wrong with you?!" You try to pull your arm away from Klaus's grasp, but the furious male didn't budge. He didn't even respond; he just pulled you away.
"Klaus! Let go!" You try to wriggle your arm out of his grip. As annoyed as you acted, a huge part of you was extremely giddy. You can tell he's furious, and as sadistic as it sounds, it makes you happy. Your mind didn't seem to catch on to how awkward it would be next time you see Cedric; all it could focus on was that Klaus is jealous.
He only lets go of you outside the club; the sudden change of temperature causes your skin to tingle with goosebumps. You rub your arms to keep yourself warm.
"Bloody hell. I told you that dress wasn't a good idea." Aggressively, he marches to his car and opens the trunk. He pulls out a jacket and wraps it around you.
Blushing lightly, you clear your throat. "Um, thanks."
"I'm not done. What the fuck were you doing with Cedric, (Y/N)?!"
You roll your eyes. "Exactly what you saw."
He nods, letting out a humorless laugh. "Okay. Let me rephrase that: why the fuck were you kissing Cedric?"
Smirking, you poke his chest and whisper, "Because I wanted to."
He grips your hand, "No, (Y/N), you didn't. You hate that guy."
"Well, why does it matter? Why do you care?" You pull away.
He stares at you in silence for a few seconds. "Get in the car."
Not even waiting for a reply, Klaus walks over to the driver's seat.
"What?!"
"I said get in the car. Passenger's seat this time." He shuts the car door.
You snap out of your confusion when his engine roars, pestering you to get moving. You rush and follow his instructions of not sitting in the back seat.
"Where are we going?" You ask.
"You'll see." And with that, neither one of you spoke a word to the other.
***
"I'm not going for a swim with you, Klaus." The moment your gaze met the familiar lake, you were ready to bawl your eyes out, but you kept it together.
Leaving his seat, Klaus sighs. "Calm down. We're here to talk. Like we always do."
Leaving his jacket in the car, you take a deep breath and try to hold yourself together. You can't just break down now. You block away the memories of every other time you and Klaus came to this place.
You sit down on the grass but make sure to keep a distance between you and the male.
"Because it wasn't obvious enough that you're mad." He sighs.
"What do you want, Klaus?"
He looks away, "It's more about what I don't want...I don't want to lose you."
The butterflies went wild in your stomach, leaving you with a clear shade of pink on your cheeks. However, this isn't enough for you to move on and forgive him, so you do your best to keep a stern look.
"Why did you lie to me, Klaus? You don't have feelings for me, and...and I already knew, but part of me wanted to believe you, and you weren't making it very easy to reject you. You could tell I had a crush on you, and you decide to manipulate me into having sex with you?! And you have the guts to criticize Cedric? You're even worse!" Well, there goes your perfect make up. Perhaps raccoon eyes could be the new trend; you can totally pull that off.
His eyes glisten, and you almost want to take back everything, but you have to stand up for yourself. He can't just walk all over you like you're the old weelcome doormat some unknown person placed in front of your apartment door. Who the fuck misspells Welcome? Why the fuck would anyone buy that? Why place it in front of your apartment? Why haven't you thrown it away? All unimportant thoughts you'd rather talk about right now than have to deal with Klaus and this emotional mess.
"I didn't lie to you. And you went out of your way to kiss that douche bag, didn't you? You wanted me to see."
"Are you fucking kidding me, Klaus?! You're trying to make it sound like I'm wrong now?!" You push yourself off the ground, the blond immediately following.
"Listen, okay? This isn't what I meant! I just- I'm still being petty about it, alright? I wanted to punch him square in the face."
"Well, you have no right to be even mildly annoyed. Leave me alone." You start walking away, but he gets a hold of your arm.
"(Y/N), could you just let me explain myself, please?!" He snaps.
"No, Klaus, all you do is blame me; fuck off." You push him away. What you didn't prepare for is stumbling backwards towards the lake. High heels deciding to join The Klaus Movement of Being a Dick to (Y/N), you quickly find yourself falling off the edge.
Panic-filled eyes follow your movements. Klaus's reaction came late, and by the time he grabbed you, he was already falling into the freezing cold water with you.
Surrounded by fear of drowning, you involuntarily call out for Klaus.
"(Y/N)?! (Y/N)!" Klaus's nervous voice echoes around you, but in the middle of trying to stay afloat, you couldn't decide where he was.
So, naturally, he had to be the one to find you. His arms wrap around you, trying to pull you closer to him, but the way you kept flailing your arms wasn't helping him. "Hey, hey, (Y/N), it's fine."
Eventually he was able to snap you out of it and hold you close to his chest. "There, it's okay. You're safe with me. You know I'll always make sure nothing hurts you."
You'd begun to calm down, you'd begun to forget about the dumb note, about him manipulating you; you'd started relaxing in his embrace, but his last statement brought you back to real life. "Let me go, Klaus." You try to pry yourself away from him.
"(Y/N), you can't swim! What are you doing?!"
"Just let me go, Klaus! I'm fine!"
"Didn't seem like it when you started calling for me!"
"It was a mistake! Just let me be!" You begin pushing him away again.
"(Y/N), fucking stop! You'll hurt yourself!" He grips your wrist tightly.
"Fine!" You stop struggling. "Just take me to the edge."
He remains silent. "You're not gonna leave the second I put you back up on land, are you?"
"What? Of course I will! I can't stand looking at your face." You turn your face to the side.
"That so?"
You roll your eyes and begin facing him. "Ye-"
He forces his lips onto yours, leading you to push him away with all your force, this time allowing you to break free from his grasp and latching onto the edge.
Furious, you find extra energy to easily pull yourself up and onto the grass. Unfortunately, your strength was immediately gone after, and this is when you couldn't take any of it anymore. You lost it all.
"Why do you keep ruining my life? I never asked for this." You sob. "Tonight, all I wanted was to have fun and forget about you, but no, you had to ruin things for me again! Look at me! My hair, my make up, my dress, my whole fucking night is a mess! And it's because of you!" You point an accusing finger at him.
His head drops in shame, and he slowly climbs to the edge near you. You start to get up but stop when you hear his shaky voice.
"Wait! Please..." His voice cracks, "I won't touch you anymore. I will drive you home. Just please...please let me explain first; hear me out."
"Get it over with, Goldstein." You cross your arms. You were starting to feel cold again, but you made sure to not make it obvious this time.
"Listen; I didn't lie. I genuinely felt attracted to you; in fact, I have been for the longest time. It's just that I'd already accepted we were merely friends, and I had to move on, and I figured the only way to truly stop viewing you romantically is to commit to someone, so when I found someone I was remotely interested in, I took it as a chance, but then suddenly, everything was gone. I didn't have her; I didn't have you. I didn't have anything." He takes a shaky breath. "And...and I came to you for comfort, but before I knew it, I was trying to get you to do what you clearly didn't want to do. It was selfish; I know. And by morning, I felt disgusting. I knew you wouldn't wanna look me in the face, so I left. I wanted to apologize, but you continued to ignore me, and if I'm being honest, I was also scared to confront you."
"Klaus-"
"Just let me finish." He sighs. "I'm not trying to say I'm not wrong. I am. I just want you to know I would never intentionally hurt you; I was just confused. I was heartbroken; I still had feelings for you; you let me have my way with you. I never knew you were actually into me as well. And when you ignored me, I just wanted to do anything to get your attention. Even if it meant to piss you off...which I suppose you got back at me by getting with Cedric, but that's not the point. You're right I don't have the right to be mad over it. It's just- everything just ended terribly, and I know everything is a mess, but I promise you I never meant to hurt you."
"I don't want to lose you." He starts sobbing, but Klaus being his prideful self, he quickly does his best to hold back.
You shouldn't brush everything off. He was wrong, and he hurt you. But seeing him trembling like that, you couldn't stop yourself from taking him into your arms. "I forgive you." You mumble.
"You do?" He perks up, looking at you with wide eyes.
"Yeah...I understand. Feelings can be confusing at times." You shrug. "Also...you never forced me into something I didn't want to do...I thought you knew I liked you?"
"Me?" He furrows his eyebrows.
"Yeah? You literally said it?" You let out a confused laugh.
Klaus pulls away from you. "When did I ever say that?"
"You were drunk; you said you knew I like you."
"Oh...that's just something I say...to everyone...when I'm drunk..." He rubs his temples in embarrassment.
You laugh. "Well, it's not like you're any less narcissistic when not drunk anyway."
"Hey! Watch it! I could still push you back into the water!"
"Shut up. You literally freaked the hell out when I fell the first time." You get off the grass.
He follows. "Not true."
"Yes true."
"Nope."
"Yup."
Well, maybe two stubborn people shouldn't be friends because this went on for a while. You were glad, however, that the tension between you guys was gone, and you two were back to normal again.
"Wanna go back to my apartment this time?" Klaus smirks before quickly adding, "Promise you won't be waking up to any notes this time...?"
Your face heats up. He was still recovering from a break up. This was still a bad idea. You should just decline and take things slow.
"Sure."

Shall We Date? Love Tangle Part 16 - Rami Zaza and Cornelius Cruz
Tumblr media
Well, that sounds pretty cool! The heroine has a one month paid vacation because of some mishaps delaying her start date for work. She gets to go on a luxury cruise liner, how lucky~~ Well, I guess considering the occupations of the LIs this time, they had to get her out of her workplace lol! That ship is really luxurious though, so cool that it’s probably like a town and has shows etc and so many people we’re familiar with on it too! Guess it’s nice for the heroine that Cornelius asked her to kinda take care of some animals on board since the vet is sick and she has more knowledge about animals than others as an animal researcher. She seems to be a workaholic so it works out for her to work while on holiday kinda thing lol. As for the guys, I’m definitely more into Cornelius’ looks right now, but Rami seems kinda interesting~
Well, Cornelius using that magic trick to escape from those guys was very…interesting lol. I found it really sweet the heroine affirmed that even though Cornelius thinks that people belong on land, people have all different places where they belong and him being attached to the sea is a good thing. Ooh so if you go with Rami, you go on an adventure with him?😁 The Sirens Tear story was a sad one. The singer just wanted to sing songs praying for the safety of seamen, yet when one ship sunk immediately after setting sail, and it was also after listening to her song, it must have been too much of a shock for her that she threw herself in the sea as well after shedding a tear that became this jewel? Well, the heroine is very ready to go on this adventure with Rami~ kinda wanted to experience more of the “adventure” rather than another “accident” where the heroine saves the guy but gets hurt, so he wants her to go back to the ship to be safe and she says no because she wants to see everything to the end trope.
And that house bit felt more like those tests of courage that they do often for school kids hahaha, there was nothing really exciting or scary, and the treasure was quite…boring? I don’t know why they were looking for it, and why he just gave it to the heroine in the end because it’s like a romantic jewel for lovers or whatever. Also not sure what they’re into about each other as usual lolll. And they promise to be together forever~ well, at least they acknowledged that Rami would continue his adventurers but would always keep her close to his heart and probably visit her etc lol. Anyway, it was a pretty boring route and Cornelius arguing for the heroine’s affection was quite annoying tbh, the “adventure” part was also not really adventurous imo. Romance was subpar too since I don’t feel like they really bonded over anything that truly connects them as people.
Tumblr media
Well, Cornelius seems…okay lol. Not into the whole competing to get the heroine’s kiss without even seeking her approval but okay. I love how dramatic it is whenever a character has a fever, like dang, how could the whole world not know considering how weak they become haha. Not surprised that Cornelius puts his job and responsibility as captain above everything and didn’t want to worry people, at least he’s listening to the heroine and resting in his room, and I’m glad she told the ship crew for him so he could rest properly until they set sail again. I think it was very sweet of Cornelius to be so understanding and thoughtful towards his passengers. He’s right, for him, being on this ship is his normal everyday kinda thing, but for all his passengers, considering how luxurious it is, it could be a once in a lifetime cruise for them, so giving them the best experience he can is really sweet of him. I guess what I find cool about Cornelius is that aside from his normal captain job which is probably busy enough and stressful enough, he puts in time learning other things to entertain the guests and make sure their experiences are unforgettable.
As usual, not sure what they like about each other, but Cornelius has been smitten with her from the outset so…okay then lol. At least there’s finally a relationship that seriously tries to think about and address the long distance problem, since she’ll be on land and he’ll always be on ship. Kinda cute to also interrelate their specialities with the animals on board getting sick and needing a vet to look at them, but only Cornelius has the authority to dock somewhere close to check up on them. And I’m glad they came to a decision together, and are ready to face the anger of the passengers together but danggg, does Rami have to steal the spotlight from Cornelius every time? It ain’t his route!! Guess it was nice that they finally kinda showed more of his role as the captain in calming the people down when a leopard got out of its cage. Aaand, I have no idea why they even bothered mentioning how it’ll be a long distance relationship if they weren’t going to care about addressing this problem and were just gonna roll with it anyway loll.
Overall, I didn’t like either of the guys or their routes. They were bland, they were boring, the guys were into her from the beginning for no reason and kept fighting for her affections like it was a race and…their professions weren’t very crucial to the story aside from it being the setting for where everything starts and goes. I’d say Cornelius’ route was a bit better because it was more relateable and it was nice to think about how much a captain would care about their passengers like he did. But yeah, there were some nice moments, however the whole story was mostly a snooze in terms of plot and romance, especially romance imo because they barely do anything different from the others, and they just flirt lol, the guys have no stories to tell about themselves or others even though they go around everywhere! So yeah, these routes were disappointing…

Jeremiah Valeska x Reader - Assassin
Y/N is an assassin who Oswald hires to kill Jeremiah after their encounter, except will she actually kill him?
Tumblr media
BANG!
I smirked as the bullet flew through my targets head, perfect bulls eye. My target, a middle aged sleaze bag. The guy I had been paid to kill was stealing business from a rival company, I had been paid one million to kill him. The pay was a lot less than I usually got, however I was bored and it was an easy target. Packing up my sniper rifle, I gently placed the strap over my shoulder and climbed down the side of the building. I was in no hurry. Currently, security and body guards were rushing to the body, guns out and looking for the shooter. They would not find me however, as I had made the shot from three blocks away. Normally, I would do the kill in person, with my pistol or my well know black katana. My katana, know as the Black Death, was made from a material stronger than steel. It was practically unbreakable. Like I said, I would usually kill my targets that way, but today I was feeling lazy. Sliding onto my motorbike, I pulled the blacked out helmet over my head, covering my pitch black hair and crystal blue eyes.
I had no more targets today so I decided to go back to my hideout, an expensive, luxury penthouse. No one knew where I lived, I bought the apartment under a fake name and I never do business deals at home. I'd hate for someone to pop in unannounced and try to kill me at an unfortunate time, for example when I'm painting my nails, I would hate to break a nail.
Falling backwards onto my sleek black couch, I kicked off my combat boots and switched on the news. I expected to see some live broadcast announcing the murder I just committed, that is not what I saw. Leaning forward slightly, my eyes widened as I saw and heard a news broadcaster talking about Jeremiah Valeska and his plans to blow up the city. Shocked, I jumped up and grabbed a rucksack, packing my stuff. If Gotham is going to go up in flames, I'd rather not be here when it happens.
I had never had the opportunity of meeting Jeremiah Valeska, however I knew Jerome. Jerome was my friend, probably my only friend, he hired me when he escaped Arkham. I talked with him on multiple occasions, even when not needed, simply because I enjoyed his company. I didn't get attached though, getting attached is the worst thing you can do in my business.
He hired me to kill Theo Galavan if anything was to happen to him, he paid me up front. He paid 20 million, which he obviously stole from under Galavan's nose. Kinda ironic that he paid me with Galavan's money to kill Galavan. I did the job, I killed him before Gordon and Oswald could get to him. Oswald was furious. I hate being in the bad books with one of Gotham's strongest contenders so I said I owed him one. He can ask one, and only one, favour from me and I will do it.
RING.RING.RING.
Hearing my annoying ringtone, I sighed, throwing the bag to the door and walking over to grab my phone from its spot on the couch.
"This is Y/N." My business tone, cold and confident, was in place as I answered. I never let any emotion into my voice when speaking to clients, not wanting to show my cards or any weaknesses I may have.
"Y/N. It's Oswald. I wish to call in that favour you owe me." His voice, trying to sound polite but ending in a snap. He was clearly very frustrated but he also knew that it was a very bad idea to snap at me. He was trying not to anger me.
"Who do you want killed?" I remained calm, cold as my eyes scanned the apartment checking if I had missed anything, I hadn't.
"Make it quick. I'm leaving town." I spoke again, hearing him start to stutter slightly.
"Jeremiah Valeska." Those two words caused me to freeze. He was extremely protected, this would be hard for me.
"40 Million." I stated my price, waiting for his answer.
"40?! You owe me a favour!" He snapped causing me to grow angry at his disrespectful tone.
"The favour, Oswald, is accepting this job. If anyone else was asking I would refuse. Jeremiah Valeska is a very smart man with a small army of followers. He is also about to blow this city up. Anyone else was asking, I would have already hung up. That is your favour. So, 40 million. Your choice." I growled losing my patience.
"Fi-Fine! 40 Million! Just kill that menace!" Hearing him stutter made me smirk, loving to hear the fear in his voice.
"Consider it done." I spoke with finality in my voice before hanging up.
Grabbing my large rucksack, I made my way down to my garage. Multiple cars and bikes sat waiting for me, all fast and fancy. I am one of the best assassins in the US, meaning I get paid a lot of money. Grabbing one of the keys of the wooden wall rack, I walked over to my black BMW. Throwing the rucksack into the boot, I then walked over to the opposite wall, pressing a small panel. After scanning my hand print, a wall panel popped open, exposing the multiple weapons I keep here. Smiling excitedly, I grabbed my katana, a small throwing knife and my gun. Getting in the car, the engine purring to life, I sped off in search of my target.
After a while of searching, I finally found what I was looking for, one of Jeremiahs followers. Parking in a dark alley, I hopped out my car and casually walked up to the young woman. She was whistling and had vibrant green hair. Pulling my katana from my back strap, I jumped forwards and placed it to her neck causing her to freeze.
"Now, you are not my target, so I don't have to kill you. I'll give you a choice. Tell me where Jeremiah Valeska is or die." I spoke with a scary calm voice as I came into her view. I was in my element.
"Never! I'll never betray Jeremiah! JEREMIAH! JEREMIAH!" The woman started to chant causing me to roll my eyes and sigh.
"Pathetic. But don't worry, you'll talk. They always talk." I laughed before dragging her to my car shoving her into the back and taking out my small throwing knife. Smirking, I climbed in after her.
Half an hour later, I knew his location and his follow was dead. Pulling up to the building he was in, I climbed out my car and grabbed my katana. Breaking into the building was easy, an easy lock to pick. I assume Jeremiah believed that the location was far too hidden to be found and didn't bother with reinforcing the place. His mistake.
Following the many corridors, I heard pained screaming coming from one direction. Following the terrified screams, I finally found Jeremiah Valeska. I finally found my target. Silently, I walked up behind him, he was gazing intently into a room. Following his gaze, the sight shocked me, he was burning his followers alive. I expected him to want to keep Jerome's followers.
"Well, that is disappointing." He spoke, annoyance in his voice, before he turned to leave.
"Disappointing? On the contrary, that was an entertaining show." I spoke with humour in my voice causing him to jump whilst spinning to face me and reaching for his gun.
"Ah, ah, love. I wouldn't." I smiled, lifting my katana to his neck, gesturing to the gun he was holding. My British accent flowing through clearly.
"Who are you?" He hissed at me, dropping his gun and glaring.
"You don't know me? Huh, you really didn't get out much did you? I mean, even your brother knew me." I taunted, knowing that mentioning Jerome was bound to get on his nerves and make him angry.
"You knew my brother?" He growled, his insanely green eyes glaring at the weapon pointed at his neck before returning to my face.
"Oh yeah. Fun guy. He hired me to avenge his death and kill Galavan. I'm Y/N." I loved the reaction I was getting out of him, his jaw was clenched as his eyes blazed in anger.
"Y/N? I've heard rumors about you, didn't know what you looked like. I'm guessing you're here to kill me. Who hired you?" His eyes light up in recognition as he heard my name.
"Oswald Cobblepot. Whatever you did, he's really pissed. I don't ask questions, I just take the money. Shame, you could have been great." I trailed off, my mind being consumed with thoughts of how big he could have become in the Gotham underworld.
"Oh well, bye." I tilted my head to the side, raising my katana to kill him.
Before I could make the lethal swipe, he grabbed the blade, unflinching as the blade cut into his skin. My eyes widened at the fact he was showing no acknowledgement of the pain in his hand.
"Wait!" He yelled, pushing against my blade, blood streaming down his wrist and arm rapidly, soaking his suit and staining it red.
"How much is he paying you?" I knew this was just a desperate bid to get me to spare his life, but I decided to indulge him anyway.
"40 Million." Returning my attention to the task at hand, I went to finish my job and kill him before being interrupted yet again.
"He's lying. He can't pay you." The words caused me to freeze, lowing the blade an inch so he could talk.
"He was trying to leverage me into getting him 50 million today. He needs money. He doesn't have 40 million to give you. I, however, can offer you something better. You're very skilled, I could use someone like you on my side. Once I destroy Gotham, you can anything you want. Money. Power. Anything." He spoke so fast, I could barely keep up with his raspy voice.
Stepping back, I slid my katana back into the sheathe, watching as he rubbed his neck where I cut him slightly. I was truly considering his offer.
"If you are lying..." I trailed off, leaving my threat hanging in the air.
"Why would I lie when the truth is so much better?" He stepped towards me, the burning room of his followers long forgotten.
"Fine. Where do we start?" I asked, agreeing that I would work for him for the mean time.
He simply grinned in response, his blood red lips pulling into a crazy smile, before gesturing for me to follow him and walking off. I followed.

Jaylos June Day #5
@jaylosjune2018 : fifth prompt (bonus), June 21st - “The Universe told me that you were my soulmate - fluff/romance
Everyone had one.
Everyone.
It was Auradon’s most sacred piece of remaining magic, embedded so deep in their blood that no law could remove it.
“Who gives a damn,” had been Mal’s response. “Call it whatever you want, they're just tattoos, even though no one here seems to think so. And I’ve already got a shitload of those.” That got a laugh from Jay, his own tattoos well outnumbering those of the mainland kids as well.
“Well I think it’s romantic.” Evie had read enough romance novels - trashy and classic - to recognize the difference between regular ink and a soulmate mark. “My mom would freak if she knew though - she never wanted so much as a freckle blemishing my skin.”
The marks didn't matter much to Carlos, with their “forever” implications. At least not until he got one. Scary enough, his mark wasn't like any of the ones he’d seen in Auradon so far, with their dainty little outlines and pretty swirls. His was heavy handed, created with broad strokes, intense and powerful. He hadn’t seen it appear either, only looked down one morning to see a terrifying and familiar cobra winding its way up his wrist.
He wasn't stupid. He knew who it belonged to, who it represented. Deep down, he’d always sort of known he’d liked boys, but to see Jay’s sign on his wrist - it was nothing short of petrifying.
How could he tell the most gorgeous boy in his life that he’d landed the nerdy, pathetic de Vil boy as his apparent “soulmate”? How could he possibly put into words what he felt when they made eye contact or entered a room side by side to brave the world or the silent check-ins they’d do for each other?
His solution showed up in the form of an anxious teenage girl.
“I think- I think you're my soulmate, Carlos!” Jane looked just about ready to pass out as she waved her wrist in front of his face. There were obviously some marks there, although he had no idea what they had to do with him.
“Swords,” she explained, her words tumbling over each other. “You're from the Isle. Your mother tried to skin dogs with knives! It all makes sense.”
It didn't make sense, it made absolutely no sense. But it was a solution nonetheless. Soon enough, foundation covered the snake on his wrist and a new mark was drawn in permanent marker, something more suitable for the fairy he was supposedly dating now.
Wings were better than a cobra, he told himself. So much better. Although exactly why, he couldn’t say. Maybe because they were what everyone expected him to have, they were normal, right? Perfect.
All of Auradon seemed to agree; they told him constantly how cute he and Jane were together.
“You guys are adorable,” Audrey would assure him daily. “You just - fit! No wonder you’re soulmates. The two little nerds.”
Funny enough, the only person who didn’t go on and on about how well they worked was Jay himself.
“Hanging in there?” He’d ask, his voice oh, so comforting and safe. Carlos wanted nothing more than to tell him the truth, the truth burning under the layers of makeup on his wrist and dying to be out in the open.
“As best I can,” he’d reply with a sigh. “Every day gets a little easier.”
Carlos had almost convinced himself that there had been a mistake, that perfect, sweet Jane really was his soulmate, not Jay. Unfortunately, the universe had other plans.
Even without the mark, Carlos had never liked to share the locker room with the rest of the tourney team. Between his scars and insecurities, the vulnerability of being naked in front of the other guys was just a little too much. But Jay had always stayed with him, long after the others had left, and Carlos had never had a problem with it. Welcomed it, actually. But lately, he’d had to come up with excuses to send him away: forgetting Dude’s leash, his underwear, a sweatshirt, anything to get him running back to the dorm to leave the locker room empty for Carlos to redraw his new soulmark.
Today, he’d sent Jay back for a shirt he had “accidentally” left on the bed, and off the thief had sprinted.
Sitting down on the one of the benches, Carlos pulled a makeup kit out from behind his gear, complete with a marker and a picture of the very first time he’d drawn it for reference. Carlos had gotten very good at drawing his simple little mark, so much so that he almost didn’t need the picture anymore.
“Hey, ‘Los, I just remembered, I got an extra t-shirt in my locker, you can just wear - what the fuck?”
The freckled boy flinched so hard he knocked the rest of the makeup onto the floor, his mark only partially covered. His heart beat had taken over for his ears, silencing nearly everything else as he scrambled backwards, away from Jay who’d just reentered the locker room.
“T-this isn’t - it’s not what you think -”
“Really?” Jay picked up the reference image, frowning. “Because it looks like you’re drawing on that fucking soulmark. Holy shit, Jane - she’s not your soulmate is she?”
Carlos could feel himself losing control, he felt the situation slipping out of his hands. He’d retreated as far as he could, his back slamming into the cold metal lockers.
“‘Los, oh god, hey, I’m not gonna tell anyone.” Jay stayed right where he was, his voice suddenly very low. “Do you - do you have a different mark?”
“Y-yes.” Carlos’ wrist was clutched tightly behind his back.
Don’t ask me to show it to you. Please.
“Does… it have anything to do with why this appeared last month?” Jay lifted his shirt and grabbed a makeup wipe from the bench, rubbing away at a patch. As the foundation rubbed away, he saw that a pawprint had been inked on the tan skin.
“You - that’s - your soulmark… is mine… ” Words didn’t seem to be forming coherently in Carlos’ mouth. All he knew was the mark on Jay’s torso had to belong to him. “I’m so sorry…”
“Sorry?” Jay shook his head. “What on earth are you sorry for? You’re my best friend, my favorite person in the world, damnit ‘Los, I thought there had been a mistake! You have mine, don’t you? My sign?”
Very slowly, Carlos brought his wrist out into the light, the cobra just as apparent as it had been from day one. He searched the thief’s face for any sign of disappointment or anger, but found none. Just something that looked a lot like happiness, the corners of his mouth quirking up in a grin.
“Fuck, de Vil, I knew it was you. The universe told me that you were my soulmate.”
“No, I'm pretty sure the little mark on your skin did.” Now that the initial shock had worn off, warmth came surging back into Carlos’ veins.
“Well, the universe put the mark there, so riddle me that, smartass.”
“Yeah, yeah, do we kiss now?”
The thief snorted, his hands finally reaching out to pull Carlos in. Their kiss was long, sloppy, and very overdue.
“What’re you gonna tell Jane?” Jay mumbled finally, pulling back just enough to see Carlos’ eyes.
“The truth.” Never in his life had the freckled boy felt more secure. “That my soulmate has a dick.”

– VOLUME ONE–
“Dennis, Aaron, Damon, Sawblade”
· PART TWO ·
———————————————————
“Hm? Yeah. Look at Twitter, dude, it's trending,” Damon replied casually as the two quickly pulled out their phones. “What? It's not– oh, it changed,” Aaron stated, “It was normal, then it refreshed, and now I have over twenty notifications and DMs. Sorry, Denny,” Dennis narrowed his eyes at his husband. “I literally gave you that raccoon video last night. I know you didn't look at it,” he pointed out, petty. “How was I supposed to kn–” he argued, before Damon cut it off.
“So are you guys having the apocalypse Twitter now or what?” he asked, interrupted their quarrel. “Oh, I never update mine so I can still have the square icons and stuff,” “I'm just getting normal stuff right now; cat videos, ads, recipe videos, the occasional out of context fandom drama and discourse. The usual,” Dennis confessed. “Like, ever? Never updated it? You don't have lights out mode?” Damon asked, trying to understand this man's level of dedication for square icons. “Yup. Minecraft's square, which is nice,” he replied, smiling honestly. “Okay…” Damon processed.
“Oh, like, she really stabbed him. Like, with a knife. Like, to death,” Aaron said, bringing them back to the current conversation about apocalypse Twitter. “Hm? Oh, yeah, that. The dude, like, died, and stuff; F,” Damon said respectfully. “Chrissy Teigen bought rights to a nuke…” Aaron added. “And Hatsune Miku is leading a protest. Good for her,” He scrolled through his timeline. Dennis made a sad face. “Why's my feed so boring…” “I'm getting hockey spoilers. HOCKEY,”
“Maybe if you had circle icons…” Damon suggested quietly. “SQUARE ICONS ARE GOOD, DUDE, AND I–” Dennis's passionate and tenacious yelling was suddenly interrupted by an inhuman growl. “Oh, stupid cannibal rats. This isn't New York, goddamn it,” Aaron grumbled as he grabbed a broom and walked angrily towards the noise. “This is why stray cats are important, you dumbass mayor,” “Just friggin’, spay and neuter ‘em if you hate them so much, clip their ears and shit…”
“So, about Borderlands. Which one’re you playing?” Dennis said as they both waited for Aaron to investigate. “TWO!! I'M PLAYING BORDERLANDS 2, ON MY THIRD ULTIMATE VAULT HUNTER MODE PLAYTHROUGH, AND ALSO THE PRE-SEQUEL, AND I'M PLANNING TO BUY BORDERLANDS 3 WHEN THERE'S A GOOD SALE LATER!!!! I LOVE BORDERLANDS!!!” Damon explained excitedly.
“I wanted to buy the legendary collection on my Switch, but I… panicked and bought Animal Crossing instead. I have Raymond on my island, by the way,” Dennis said sadly. “I built a cage around his house the other day,” Damon stared sadly at this man, understanding his complicated dilemma. “That's very nice,” he said, “how does your island look like?” Damon leaned against the wall, holding Sawblade, who was now sleeping. “Bad,” the man replied, looking down in shame.
Aaron, on the other hand, was whacking the living hell out of the ground, determined to find the creature. “Wait, I probably shouldn't scare it off or something,” He realized, calmly holding the broom. “C'mere, lil guy,” he repeated as he whistled. Another odd growl echoed in the alleyway, sounding much closer than the previous one. “Hm,” Aaron thought as he stopped walking for a bit, unsure whether to call the two over or to keep going alone. “DENNIS! DAMON!” he yelled, extremely scared of whatever monster was luring him over. “Yeah, I have Graham, he's just ok–” Dennis conversed. “Aaron?! Did you find it?” He shouted.
* CHAPTER TWO *
The Mystery
“COME OVER HERE!!” Aaron yelled back. “What about Sawblade?” Damon worriedly asked. “SAW– Uh, just– just put her in the back, there's some food, water, litter boxes, toys, treats, ghosts, cable,” Dennis listed down as he carefully took her from the boy and carried her to the back room. “Well, basically, it's for cats,” He said as he closed the door. “Alright, let's go,”
As Aaron was waiting patiently for the two to follow, he took out his phone and browsed through a shopping app. Unsurprisingly, this had also changed. The feed was filled with knives, jackets, concrete powder, more knives, advertisements for people looking for commissions, and… snacks. “Oh, apocalypse stuff, huh?” he mumbled as he eyed the “Food” tab, tapping it, eager to know what apocalypse snacks are like. Hopefully not like, chips made out of gasoline or something.
Wow.
WOW .
“Tubby custard, Cookie Monster cookies, Why Does Anime Food Look So Tasty, Hottie's Microwaved Chicken, Salad Fingers’ Salad Fingers, ACTUAL rice fried by chickens, Lembas bread, and–”
“Zeruel meat, $20”
Aaron hastily pressed the “Add to Cart” button, uncaring if it's a scam or not. He continued browsing all the snacks sold in this new world, forgetting what he was doing before until Dennis and Damon came running into the alley. “YOU OKAY?!” Dennis yelled, the surprise of it giving his husband a flinch. “Yeah, honey, do you want to drink the blue milk from Star Wars?” Aaron said calmly. “Is Aunt Beru there?” Dennis asked, casually placing his head on his husband's shoulder to look at the phone screen, his arms wrapped around his neck, but like, in a loving and non-strangling way, you know how, placing a kiss onto his cheek.
“Hey guys, I have bread at my house. It expires tomorrow, so I'd recommend eating it if you want :)” Damon suggested. However, his voice was too quiet for them to hear it and they continued doing gross couple stuff like holding hands and premarital eye contact. Ew. “Now about that cannibal rat…” Dennis retracted his arms from around Aaron's neck, his hand still lightly wrapped around the other’s shoulder. He placed himself in front of the shorter man, close enough for Aaron to smell his stinky-ass breath that reeked of ranch dressing. Dennis smiled softly, waiting for an answer. “cannibal what now” Damon asked to himself.
“That can wait,” Aaron replied, his arms slowly wrapping around Dennis. “I dunno, guys, what if you're kissing and stuff, and then we all die or something,” Damon interrupted the couple's flirting. “When the hell did you– Uh, yeah, okay, let's, um, take care of that first,” Aaron said, only now noticing the boy's presence. “Hell yeah! Let's kill some rats!” Dennis yelled exuberantly. “Capture, Denny, don't kill anything,” Aaron corrected. “That's literally the first thing I taught you about the pet shop thing, honey,” Dennis looked down in shame and disappointment.
The trio went further into the alleyway, staying close to each other in case anything happened. “Wouldn't it be funny as hell if, like, it turned out to be a fridge or something?” Damon asked. “And the fridge was full of killer snails,” Dennis added sarcastically. “Killer snails are scary, you guys don't understand,” Aaron said angrily, “Just imagine sitting at the beach and some bitch-ass cone snail runs straight at you and you die right there on the spot. That's scary as hell,” he explained. “Run. A snail. That would take five months,” Dennis questioned his co-worker, “Babe, for a vet, you have really weird and specific and unrealistic fears,”
“It's because–” Aaron argued back, his sentence cut off with another growl, this time coming from the wall on his left. “A fridge, guys, a fridge,” Damon assured. “Nah, it's a zombie bear,” Dennis said, smirking. Aaron looked around for a door, or a window, so he could investigate. “Aliens, guys, aliens,” he mumbled, finding a foggy window. “Aha!” Aaron yelled as he turned on the flashlight on his phone. “So, Damon says it's a fridge, Denny says it's killer snails and zombie bears, and I said it's an alien, right?” Aaron said smugly, knowing his vague theory is way more likely than their guesses.
He directed the light through the window, its light revealing the inside of the building. It was dusty and empty, probably built as a store room. Or a weird cult place. “Well, that's that,” Dennis said, disappointed in the truth. “Cobwebs, huh? We're all wrong, then,” Damon said sadly. “ALIEN cobwebs!! I'm right, suckers!” Aaron yelled enthusiastically.
“You sure about that? Could be normal ones. Only way to find out is to go in… ;)” Dennis said, taunting the others. “Really? We wanna know that? They're clearly aliens. Not fridges…” Damon asked, looking down. “Suuuure, man. But y’know, it could be zombie bear fridges in those cobwebs… We could be right, and Aaron's wrong…” Dennis suggested. “So, honey, if you wanna make sure you're right…” Aaron scrunched up his face in offence. “I am. Do zombie bear fridges not sound alien to you.”
“Yeah, but… Florida probably has that, yeah?” Dennis said, angering Aaron more. “You think I'm gonna rush in there to prove that I'm right? You think I'm that dumb. Den, babe, I won't go in there,” Aaron asserted. While the two was arguing, Damon, bored, just walked around them in circles. As he was dragging his feet blindly, he accidentally stepped on something hidden under dried leaves, sinking it down. “SECRET DOOR!” he yelled out excitedly.
Damon kicked apart the leaves from each other, uncovering the part of the ground. “Who the hell puts a button here?” he questioned. “Oh, what the–” the ground shook, a piece of it falling down, revealing a staircase. It was carved from stone and it looked straight out of a history book. “Uh… should we go back, or?” Dennis said, weirded out by it. “Homestuck says we shouldn't trust stairs, so,” he added. “Karkalicious, definition: Makes Terezi loco,” Damon sung. “She wants to taste something something photo, dyin’ just to know the flavour, I ain't doin’ HER NO FAVOURS, no reason just season fresh and comes and goes like seizures, I'm Karkalicious,” he mumbled. “What the fuck?” Aaron whispered.
The three stood in front of the staircase, unsure what to do. Aaron was gripping a broom, while Dennis and Damon considered making a quick pit stop at the pet shop.
* CHAPTER THREE *
The Pit Stop at the Pet Shop
Dennis had made the decision to go back to get some tools to help them, and Aaron and Damon waited in the alley.
“So, you wanna look at the stuff they're selling here?” Aaron asked, passing the time. “Sure, why not?” Damon agreed as he peeked at his new friend's phone. “Alright, what're we gonna browse? There's video games, food, clothes, weapons…” “VIDEO GAMES!!” he shouted happily. “Okay…” Aaron said as he clicked a tab.
“Doom Crossing: Eternal Horizon Solid III Dawn”
“Borderlands: The Pre-Threequel – Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Apology Video ft. Tiny Tina: The DLC”
“Overwatch 2: Please Buy This Game – $3 Super Duper Legendary Deluxe Origins Edition”
“Gun Shooting War Tanks Rockets Missiles VR Simulator 46”
“Low-Poly Art Game with Hidden Metaphors”
“Gritty Old White Men Who Are Detailed And Angry 3: This Time There's More Pores”
“Not-Subtle-At-All Metaphor for Society and Politics, As Told By A Cishet White Man, Ultra 4K HD”
“Racing But Very High Quality and Immersive and Also Like $80”
“Ah. This is basically the same.” Damon stated sadly. “Wait, what about this?” Aaron pointed to a familiar video game. “Angry Birds Seasons,” it read. They both began to cry out of nostalgia. “Maybe this world isn't so bad after all…” Damon said gratefully as Aaron downloaded the game.
Meanwhile, Dennis struggled to carry an assembled cat cage, a carrier, a bottle of water, a ball, dog toys, flea shampoo, gloves, cat and dog treats, cat and dog food, and a partridge in a pear tree at the same time. Somehow, he did, and he wobbled over to his husband and the kid, his vision completely blinded by everything he carried. “Man… Aaron's gonna be so… impressed when he sees this. I'm so friggin’… strong…” He whispered to himself as he panted.
“Holy shit, it's Angry Birds, dude,” Damon said happily. “Rock, paper, scissors, whoever wins plays,” Aaron suggested. “Nah, you go first. I'm not really sure if this is the Angry Birds Seasons normally in our world or if it's some weird clone of it.” Damon said, scratching his head. “Wonder what's Sawblade doing,”
As the sound of dry food rattling and a cat cage being dragged across the street grew louder, Aaron excitedly went to help his husband, who immediately fell on his back in tiredness at the sight of him. “Carry,” Dennis panted, closing his eyes and probably about to take a nap. “Why'd you bring toys and treats?” Aaron asked honestly. “Just in case the little guy's angry,” Dennis explained badly. “It could be a zombie or whatever, you know… I'm pretty sure that growl didn't come from an ‘angry little guy,’ dude,” Damon argued.
“Well, okay. Who's going down first?” Aaron asked, making a face that was a combination of scared and taunting. “Uh, I'm like, a minor, and could die, so it's kind of illegal if I go first. Like, I'm all endangered and stuff. Yeah,” Damon stated. “I have scoliosis,” Dennis blurted out, giving Aaron puppy dog eyes. “I could trip and fall and die,” he added, nodding slowly while still maintaining eye contact. “I ate a doughnut for breakfast today, so I'm pretty full; if I go first, I'll just slow you guys down,” Aaron said. “Wolves do that. The slowest and oldest ones go in front so they don't get left behind,” Dennis replied with a smile. “Uh, my leg hurts a lot, I can't go downstairs,” Aaron added. “How about you roll down? It's a much more fun solution :)” Damon replied back, really not wanting to be the first one.
“Fine, we'll do rock paper scissors, then,” Dennis suggested impatiently. “There's three of us, it'll probably take a long time,” Aaron said, tilting his head and looking away from his husband's demanding glare. “Oh, lat tali lat,” Damon said casually, confusing the two. “Huh?” “Shooooot. Um, well basically, where I'm from, there's this game where it's like rock paper scissors, but it's for more than two people,” Damon explained in a very complicated manner, clearly wanting the situation to drag on longer.
After explaining how the game works, the trio finally came to a conclusion on the sequence they enter in– first, Dennis, then Damon, and Aaron behind them. “Oh. So who's carrying the luggage?” Dennis asked to Damon and Aaron. “Do we really need to bring that big ass cage?” Aaron asked. “Like, how the hell are we supposed to bring it down there? Just kick it downstairs and run?” Dennis thought for a bit. “Um, yeah.” “Oh, good idea, you can check for traps and stuff,” Damon agreed.
“A: What about the food? What if this alien–”
“D: No one said it was an alien except for you.”
“A: Fine, this zombie bear–”
“d: – Killer snails in fridges,”
“A: THIS THING, THIS ALIEN THING,”
“D: Ok”
“A: You think it eats kibbles? Little seafood delight kibbles?”
“D: Uh…”
“A: Maybe some of those chicken flavored ones?”
“D: I guess…”
“A: Huh?”
“d: Yeah, why'd you bring dry food?”
“D: Because if I brought wet food, I'd have to bring a plate and stuff.”
“A: Or, you know, just serve it in the can it was in,”
“D: What if it hates the texture or whatever?”
“Aliens probably like crunchy food better.”
“I like crunchy food better than… like, mashed-up meat drenched in some weird liquid. Aliens are like that too.”
“d: Good point, dude,”
“A: Hm. Yeah, can't disagree with that, man.”
“D: See? This is because I was kin with Megamind back in middle school,”
“A: That– okay.”
“D: Yeah. Take that, bitch.”
“Hell yeah.”
“d: So Megamind likes catnip too? We're bringing catnip downstairs?”
“D: That's to make him all chill and stuff.”
“A: Chew toys? Bouncy balls?”
“D: That's if there's guard dogs.”
“d: Oh, and the crab treats are for Jessica, only child, Illinois, Chicago?”
“D: Yeah…”
“A: You really brought everything from the shop, huh?”
“D: Yup! Except cat beds, leashes, collars, custom collars, microchip trackers, heat lamps, cat litter, litter boxes…”
“A: Okay, well just enough for this, then,”
“D: Yeah!”
“d: What if they're lizards, and they're too cold?”
“D: … Shiiiit.”
“A: Aliens aren't– Oh damn, you're right,”
“d: Well, let's just hope I'm not,”
“I don't want them to shit everywhere or whatever, man.”
“D: What.”
“d: This one time in kindergarten, my teacher brought in her iguana and it was shitting all over my desk. My poor, poor, desk.”
“A: Um? How?”
“d: I dunno. Just did. Like, splat, bitch, fuck you,”
“Wait, oops, sorry,”
“D: That's very sad.”
“d: Yeah. Thanks,”
“…”
“d: So are we going in or what?”
“D: No”
“A: dennis.”
“D: do i still have to be first”
“d: DUH”
“D: FIIIIINE OKKKAAAAAY”
“D: this is like that one anime with the big guys”
“the one thats pretty racist”
The three finally went downstairs in the order they agreed upon, and their discovery will be told…

Patience - Quick Review
* Dean wanting to get out and do a case is understandable. I’d be fried if all I wanted to do was save people & would only be losing them too.
*Sam tells Dean Jack’s a way to get Mom out of AU. Man then Dean’s obviously going to believe that is Sam’s first reason to help Jack. (Kind of makes sense when they argue later)
*Dean’s fried. He’s done losing people for this huge powerful beings that keep coming into their lives (Ruby, MOC, Amara and now Jack) Life was easier when it was about saving people from the dark beings they understood.
*MISSOURI !!! Long time no see. It’s good to see people from classic SPN.
*And oh she knows :( Just needed to hug Dean to know.
*I love that this episode is a good old monster one too. Missed those for a while..
*Love seeing the ladies hunting together with Dean.
*Sam being so patient and so understanding and so helpful....Love this guy for who he is and chooses to be in the face of everything.
*How can James not want to be with his own mother? :( Feel sad for Missouri.
*Dean’s understanding of her and the “Yes Ma’am” !!!!
*Jack’s confusion and anger is also so understandable. He just wants to be left alone atm.
*OMG the vision Patience had :|
*MAN SPN :( You killed Missouri too????
*Patience is in danger ....where’s Dean and Jody?
*Love the action sequences....get’s me excited.
* “I am normal” Patience that never turns out good.
* MY SAMMY :((( Sam and Jack’s scene is wonderful. LOVED him telling Jack how he had help and got saved and he’d like to try and do the same for him. Felt like hugging Sam because he’s still not over what’s in him or was...
*He’s really trying to parent here and he’s working hard. His patience with Jack is lovely.
*Dean being livid for someone cutting their mother out of their life :( made me teary. Ask how it feels not to have one, then have one and lose her again. He’d do anything to have her back...however she may have behaved. Jody’s support to him that moment, just the hand sliding down his so touching.
*Action again, love when the show goes to its roots. Saving peopleeee
*OMG :||| Patience had another vision. SEEING JODY AND DEAN LIKE THAT WAS SCARY SPN !!!
*The action sequences this year are SO interesting :| Loved how Dean killed the Wraith. That trick with the rope was so interesting.
*Dean consciously being detached from everyone and everything. This is the FIRST time I’ve seen him so shut down. And it makes ABSOLUTE sense. I would be disappointed if the character didn’t get to react like this after the constant trauma they go through. Sometimes I wonder how either brother hasn’t totally had a breakdown and needed medical help for it.
*My DEAN :( The Dean tune plays and he tells Patience that hunting isn’t the GO TO. His feelings reflect here. This job, hunting ...they do it because they can’t shut saving people down after so many years...but it’s not a joyous job when you lose so much so many times. Him wanting someone else not to endure what he did is totally like Dean.
*Jody made absolutely NO SENSE. She’s trying to encourage a girl who loves her current life to go out and USE that gift? She’s right that Patience can choose what she wants. But that suggestion SUCKED.
*OH HOW I LOVED THE LAST CONFRONTATION BETWEEN Sam and Dean. They both are right there and there are no two ways about it.
*But the fact is that using his powers even for the right intention turned out to do damage. So Dean being vary of even more powerful powers of Lucifer’s lineage isn’t really wrong. (For someone whose not getting that simple fact too... idk what to say)
*”You saved me, so help me save him” “YOU DESERVED TO BE SAVED” OMG THAT DIALOGUE.
*That was a great scene. Great writing there. Dean was about free will and Sam about fate for so long but situations have reversed the opinion here in regards to Jack.
*OMG CASTIEL :| AND THE EMPTY :| That is so scary and depressing.
*LOVELY EPISODE AGAIN. S13 is turning out great so far.
