Hi! New to your blog, I was curious about your thoughts on Shane? :’) I was gonna marry Eliot but was too lazy to find all his loved items, so I just went with Shane instead. I have definitely grown to love him (I’m his number one apologist and defender)

Honesty, Shane's story was kinda spoiled for me cuz of Youtube so when he was being kinda mean I brushed it off knowing it was a character flaw in the beginning that changed later.

so IMMEDIATELY, I'm biased.

I only saw snip bits here and there out of context and I was more confused by why a bright colorful farming game was talking about depression, addiction, and sui**dal ideation.

Shane's also one of the easiest villagers to befriend so when I first played, I accidentally befriended him, and OH BOY! Were his scenes a whiplash 😅 I kept forgetting how dark they were LMAOOO

I can kinda understand some of the critiques on the character but it's really dependent on how you interpret Shane. He's no saint, he has behaviors that can be explained but not necessarily justified.

But to comment on two of the criticisms:

Some people dislike how Shane drinks even after the event.

It's more of a gameplay mechanic flaw but also I think it unintentionally matches with real alcoholism recovery. Depending on how much alcohol you have drank and how bad your liver is...you can't just stop drinking.

If your body is used to a certain level of alcohol in its systems and then one day you just stop, you go into shock AND YOU DIE :D

Fun Fact!

There's also the comment on how the Player "fixes" Shane and criticisms on the players who choose to like Shane but that's a critique on the player. Not the character. So I can't really comment much on that one. And my personal interpretation of the fixing thing: nah.

I'll use the metaphor Shane used.

When you're stuck at the bottom of the abyss and you can't see the light anymore... if someone throws down a rope from the top...it does not mean they saved you. You have the choice of using the rope to climb out or staying at the bottom.

ANYWAY

Personally, I like flawed characters! They usually give you a lot to dissect and reflect on so I think he's chill😎👍

Probably gonna be a while until you see a fully drawn piece of Shane that isn't doodle. Sorry Shane enjoyers, this is all I got 😅

Over the span of like 3 days, I listened to the entirety of Epic: The Musical (or what’s released of it, anyways. Iirc there’s two albums yet to be released.) And now I’m gonna pick my fave and least faves. Because why not <3

The Troy Saga Fave: Open Arms. It’s iconic, the dude who voiced Polites did great, and it’s referenced a ton in other songs. Least Fave: I guess Warrior of the Mind, if I had to pick. Idk. I like the Troy saga.

The Cyclops Saga Fave: Survive. That, and Polyphemus coming right before it are such good songs. The pure terror in their voices around the end of Survive were just chef’s kiss Least Fave: My Goodbye. It made me dislike Athena (until the Wisdom saga, at least) ;-;

The Ocean Saga Fave: Luck Runs Out. It’s also referenced in future songs (I think?) and it’s pretty catchy imo. Least Fave: None. If I HAD to pick…ig Keep Your Friends Close? Ocean Saga doesn’t have a single bad song. Change my mind 😎

The Underworld Saga Fave: The Underworld. The faint reprise of Open Arms gave me chills. Least Fave: No Longer You. Underworld also has no bad songs. I just had to pick one. Sorry :(

The Storm Saga Fave: SCYLLA SCYLLA SCYLLA— in all seriousness, Scylla is what got me into listening to the whole thing. I love it to death. It’s my discord status too. Least Fave: Mutiny. Started out strong. Kinda lost its charm after the actual mutiny part. Maybe I’m just an Odysseus sympathizer haha.

The Wisdom Saga Fave: God Games. Athena redemption ark real!! She actually called Ody’s son a friend, too 🥺 Least Fave: We’ll Be Fine. Apparently it wasn’t very memorable as I listened to it an hour-ish ago and I already forgot how it goes.

im in a long distance poly relationship with two partners- one of which being a newer relationship. me and my other partner have been open about polyamory from the start, but theyre slow to warm up to people so me getting in another relationship was out first step into that. my new partner is also poly, and has a close friend that he's participated in some 3somes with, as well as just friend sex together. i already told him i was fine for he and this friend to continue that, and i still feel fine with that. they had that dynamic before we started dating, and i trust this other guy will take care of him, which is all that was important to me about it.

recently, that friend and a girl hes seeing visited my partner, and it became pretty obvious to me that hes attracted to this girl. at the time when he was telling me about this, i was PMS-ing hard core, and definitely started feeling anxious and jealous over this. it is my first polyam relationship, and as i said before, my older partner hasnt shown interest in anyone else yet.

i was asked how i felt about the flirting he was doing with this girl, and i gave my boundaries, and opened up about some of my nerves. he was very sweet about it (i love him), and didnt cross any of the lines i had set. im not worried about him doing that. however, i think my feelings of hormonal jealousy and sadness might have created a worry for him that im not okay with what he does with other people- i think this due to something he said the other night when i was upset for a different reason (still hormonal).

do you have any advice for ways i can try to ease his worries about my comfort with our relationship? to clarify, what i want to convey is that im alright with him continuing this friend sex, and i dont mind the new flirting and cuddling he does with this other girl. i dont think i would be comfortable with him having sex with her until i met her though, if that is something he wants. there is currently talk between us right now already of making a group chat so i can meet the girl and his friend, he said they both really want to meet me too.

i hope this is coherent lol its been a crazy few days with my emotions being everywhere and mood swings being crazy.

You're really overthinking this. You Can Just Say The Things You Feel.

And I already think your wording was pretty good👍: names your feelings, explains why you're clarifying, let's him know what future conditions might cause this thing that's not a problem to seem like a problem again, reassures him, etc.

Like you should also back it up by, for example, Being Chill😎 when you meet the new girl. But this is for real a case where the shortest route between two points is s straight line. just say it, lol. 😂

In the loving memory of Kinger

Pt. 1: A flying WHAT?!

A lot of things happened to us since the last time I published anything about Kinger. I had different plans to continue the story, but now I must tell the beginning of the end 🚬🗿

In the last chapter, Kinger and I were lost far away from our home. We needed a lot of money or luck to get back, so we came up with a plan: steal a vehicle and get tf out of there... But it was unsuccessful. We were stopped by the birds at first, but then, after braking some laws and feeding some parrots, we were finally able to meet the thermal water bosses: the Tikis.

The Tikis lived on top of a volcano, far to the south of the world. At first, their land was fertile and their fields were vast. There was no war, and there was no need for conflict. Then, what happened? Well, they just got lazy and left the farm life. Near their volcano, they built some really cool thermal waters, and hired a bunch of humans and birds to work for them. Now, their only job was to stay there and keep this face:

Originally, Kinger and I wanted to chill a bit, away from some Amazing placed that seemed to be a Circus, and that was very much Digital, too. So we just cained Caine and run away 😇 don't worry, we were going to bring gifts and cool pictures to the others. Anyway, we arrived at the place and we bought tickets, then we went to eat and we realized something...

— HOLY COW. IS THAT A FLAMENGO?!?! —

I said calmly while taking a detour to watch closely this suprising bird:

— No, it's a cow. — Kinger answered nonechalantly while looking at the horizon.

— What? No, it has wings. It can't be a cow. —

— Oh, then it's like a pegasus. A cowasus. —

— What are you talking about? It's pink. Cows aren't pink. —

— Ooooh, so you're talking about this long-neck thing in front of us. It is, indeed, a flamengo. But I was refering to that cowasus in the back. —

Kinger pointed to the right, and I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing... So we took a picture of it.

— HOLY COW! IS THAT A FLYING COW!? THE LEGENDARY COWASUS!?!?!? —

— Yeah. — The cow said. — What's up 😎? —

— A cow 🐄, you're up in the sky. — Kinger replied.

— Neat. — Said the cow, while I couldn't help but hype about this totally real animal who was not being suspended at all by a wood structure that I erased with my phone. It was crazy, you had to be there. — Wanna see a magic trick? —

The cowasus descended a bit, without touching grass, just like a true gamer. Then, it offered us one of its hooves.

— Give your wallets, I'll show you a cool trick that only flying cow can do. —

— Ok. —

We gave it our wallets, and then it flew away, up up into the sky, all the way into the clouds... We stayed there for about two hours, waiting for something else to happen, very excited. After some time, I looked at Kinger very seriously.

— Did we get robbed just now? —

— It was more like a scam. We seemed to have paid for a magic trick that was not shown to us. —

— Oh, I see. —

And that's the story of how we got ourselves stuck in that volcano. When we told this to the Tikis, the thermal water bosses, they gave us this look:

What happens next is a story for another day. I'll publish it sooner this time... Probably, I don't make promises, I can't really keep them.

— Then what if you promise not to deliver it soon? —

— That's a great idea, Kinger! I'll do that. Thanks a lot, ma' lord. —

Carnival of Terror

“Come one, come all!” a loud, deep, welcoming voice booms over the noise. “Welcome to Carnival Bizarre! The greatest show in the world!” When the other Kim brother you recognize from the posters – Namjoon – suddenly appears in the center of the ring in a burst of smoke, you feel surprised and a bit confused. The performers circle around him, and he holds his arms high, blood-red suit bright under the shine of the many spotlights. Although you cannot perfectly see him from this distance, you imagine that he is not only smiling, but that he is staring directly at you. A chill shimmies down your spine, and you want to look away, but you find that you cannot; your eyes are fixed on the magnanimous man in the swelling center of the encircling chaos.  Held in Namjoon’s hand is a cane, the top end of which is glowing bright like fire, and you watch as he twirls and points with it, following its path as the music crescendos, feeling a heavy weight in your chest that threatens to overwhelm, if only you could tear your eyes away and allow yourself to think clearly.  And then the music stops, and the lights shift off, save for a bright white spotlight that glows on Namjoon. He opens his empty hand, and something that looks like a burst of orange, glittering fire rises from his palm, shimmering in the air as it lifts up, up, up, to the top of the tent, so high above that you lose sight of it.  Vaguely, it feels as if tears are running from your eyes, staining your cheeks in warm streaks, but you cannot lift your hands to check, nor can you blink. You sit stunned and stiff as a board, staring up into the dark tent, waiting to be told where to look next. 

The Hooksborough Demon

To explain the anger that occurs within this place, imagine there is a constant noise just in the periphery that you cannot find a solution to, and you cannot shut out. Like somewhere, in the corner of your mind, there is a faucet drip, drip, dripping, and it is slowly driving you crazy. You cannot think straight because it will not stop drip, drip, dripping, and you are becoming more and more frustrated, more and more confused, more and more agitated. Somewhere in the back of your mind, it is almost as if there is a voice whispering, “Kill him, kill him, kill him,” and you stand seething, seeing red, wanting nothing more than to reach out, wrap your fingers around his throat and squeeze, squeeze, squeeze the fucking life out of him. That is how I felt, looking at Yoongi while he told me there was meant to be nothing, that he had never seen a café kiosk in any of the floorplans, much less in the location where I thought it should be, nor the location where it is now. And Jimin, standing there with a Polaroid between his fingers. Jimin, who had his fingers on two photos but never set one of them down in front of me or on camera. I wanted to bash his head against the counter, watch as his skull cracks and his grey matter and blood seep out, painting the laminated wood of the countertop. Whatever this surge of anger was caused by within the walls of this building was swirling inside me, pouring from my mouth and eyes, and I wanted them both dead from my bare hands. And then it stopped. I blinked, and it was gone. As if a mist within me had dissipated, and my mind was clear.

Dollhouse

It always feels weird to wake up in someone else's body. The discombobulation of space and time, adjusting for hand-eye coordination in a new skinsuit with different length limbs and overall proportions, acclimating as quickly as possible to carry out the tasks at hand. But he always adjusts quickly because he is the best. Nobody is better than Jung Hoseok. This assignment is the same as any assignment: find the target and either confiscate or terminate. This time, he has to do both. It just so happens that the target individual is in possession of the target information, allowing Hoseok to kill two birds with one stone and get back into his own body by dinnertime. Easy peasy. "What do you see?" a female voice asks inside Hoseok's head. Hoseok glances around, blinking heavily, unaccustomed to wearing glasses. He appears to be in a bedroom, plain walls with mahogany paneling encasing him. "I'm in a bedroom. Sitting up now." "The target will be here shortly, mister Jung. Meet him in the study, two doors down and to the right." "Got it." When Hoseok sits up, he feels a little dizzy, holding the host's hands in front of him. They're paler, wrinklier, and thicker than his own. Hoseok closes and opens them, turning them around for a moment; he always stops to marvel at the small things.

And then you run. Your feet are sweaty and they slide against the floor, but you push forward as fast as you can. Once at the door, you shove at it with all your strength, and when it flies open, revealing Yoongi and Namjoon standing close, muttering sweetly, you gasp; you were not expecting to find the two of them this easily.  Namjoon stands to the left, gently cradling Yoongi's chin with both hands, and Yoongi stares up at him, hands lifted to Namjoon's sides. Despite Namjoon's more casual attire, Yoongi is in his usual black button-up and black slacks.  You mutter, "Yoo—" and halt in place when he turns his attention to you, smile faltering as his one visible eye holds you in its gaze.  Although Yoongi's hair is down and wild, you can see the black eyepatch covering his other eye. Above the patch are little black stitches that rise up his forehead, and you worry you might faint once more.  "Darling," Yoongi says, dropping his arms from Namjoon's sides to fully face you.  Namjoon's hands only fall to Yoongi's shoulders, and the look he gives you is indiscernible and maybe even a little cold.  "I'm sorry," is all you can say as your right leg twitches in an attempt to continue forward, held back by the full-body weight of your fear.

“Hmm,” you respond, stepping close enough that he could reach out and touch you. “My safe word is Jimin.” Yoongi tongues the inside of his cheek, then sits back, placing his palms against the white comforter on the bed. “Really?”  You chuckle as you nod and say, “Yup.” “You’re going to scream Jimin’s name when you want me to slow down or stop?” “Correct.” Yoongi laughs, clearly amused, then he nods and says, “Alright. Works for me. Any other boundaries? Things you’re not into?” Truthfully, at this moment, there is nothing you can think of. So you shrug and say, “Nothing as of now…but I’ll tell you if I think of something.” “You’ll moan my hookup’s name if you change your mind,” Yoongi mutters with a smirk.  “Yup.” Yoongi rolls his shoulders and then sits up straight before slowly beginning to stand. You take a step back, feeling nervousness sink in over the fact that this is really happening, especially with the way Yoongi stands tall with his shoulders square and his expression flat.  “Repeat your safe word for me,” Yoongi commands.  “Jimin,” you respond, much softer than intended.  The corner of Yoongi’s mouth rises for a split second, then he squints as if he is disgusted by what he sees. Instinctively, you take another step back.  Yoongi is quick as a serpent, hand snapping up to grip onto your jaw and make you gasp – startling you.  “Where do you think you’re going?” he asks in a sharp snarl.  Although you move your lips, all you are able to mutter is vowels, unsure what to say.  “You’re mine, baby girl. You don’t so much as move unless I command it.”

Truth or Dare

Suddenly, you are eager to touch and taste him, uncertain whether you want to continue playing the game. Taehyung catches you staring and smirks, then he pats his legs and asks, "Truth or dare?" with his eyes on you. "Dare," you breathe softly as you get onto your hands and knees to turn and crawl back to his lap. He appears to have scooted a few inches away. "I dare you face me," Taehyung says, lifting a brow. "Straddle my lap." You continue to crawl and cage in Taehyung's legs with your hands and knees until you have nowhere more to go and sit, settling down on his lap. Even sitting up straight you are just slightly shorter than Taehyung, and being this close, you fight the urge once more to kiss him, licking your lips while gazing hungrily at his. When Taehyung mimics the motion, licking his lips in return, you lift your gaze to his, feeling shy.  "Don't worry, pretty," Taehyung teases softly as he wraps his arms around your waist, "I saw that. You want to kiss me so badly, don't you?" With a shrug, you respond, "I haven't picked truth, so who's to say?" "Cheeky," Taehyung mutters with a wide smile, then he nibbles on his lower lip, pulling your attention once more and making you wonder how he tastes.  "God, you should see them, hyung," Taehyung groans loudly enough for his voice to travel without taking his eyes off you. "They can't stop looking at my lips." You blink rapidly, attempting to pull yourself from the trance that Taehyung is clearly becoming a master at putting you under, and you turn to your boyfriend, who stares at you with wide, eager eyes.  "Truth or dare, babe?" "Truth." "What are you imagining, right now?" Hoseok chuckles and shakes his head. "So many things," he mutters.  "Elaborate," you urge.

He was INTERESTING WHY DID THEY JUST USE HIM TO INTRODUCE SANJI AND GIVE LUFFY A REASON TO STAY AT THE BARATIE FOR LONGER THAN HE HAD TO.
