Hal “Otacon” Emmerich is actually the funniest character in metal gear. He’s a sci-fi anime weeb in the sci fi anime game, but instead of being like, genre savvy his media literacy skills are so bad that his actions made the games even more sci-fi anime than they already were, and that led to the world becoming a military dystopia. He literally made the torment nexus from beloved anime “don’t make the torment nexus” and also made sure the torment nexus could roar and street fight after specifically being told not to do that. He asked a man with a loaded gun if he was an otaku.
