At the moment, the ending that's been workshopped the most is the happy ending, but it's still more... bittersweet than truly 'happy'

The bad endings... ehh, the majority of those end in nuclear war and honestly I'm not feelin it. The one that I liked had to be dropped as the plot beats required for it were just... to big, and a liiittle too out there. Not for the tmnt franchise as a whole, but to my tastes specifically

Some new lore for you guys.

In the EPF program the mutants are all split into teams of four. These four teammates live in the same cell and do just about everything together to facilitate teamwork. They are also trained individually to be sure they can fight alone if they were ever separated or if they need to go on solo missions.

Each team gets a specific EPF agent to be their primary caretaker. These caretakers are called “Guardians” and are in charge of their subjects’ well being, training, and discipline. Their given mostly free reign with how they decide to handle their teams as each was picked for them and them for their team but the higher ups will still look over their decisions and have the authority to overrule any decision.

Baxter Stockman was the Guardian of Team Kappa (from the Greek alphabet but I couldn’t resist the pun) also occasionally referred to by the nickname Team Terrapin as all its subjects were turtles/tortoises, something not very common as they typically tried to have as much diversity in the species as possible while still optimizing compatiblity. After their escape Stockman was demoted for his failure and shunned by his colleagues which caused him to grow bitter and eventually leaving the program all together in order to hunt down his subjects, tho later he would return due to an alliance formed by his new employer ;)

Baron Draxum is the Guardian for Team Delta. This team consists of salamander, frog-turtle hybrid (the third attempt at a hybrid mutant and only surviving one), rabbit, and gecko mutants (one point for every correct character guess).

Baron Draxum was additionally the first human to be mutated, giving himself up to see if it was possible and “safe”, tho he was opposed to using children. He had the choice to become this, it isn’t fair that they don’t and are too young to even make such a life altering decision themselves. Despite the strain this put on his and Bishop’s working relationship he still believed deeply in their cause and with his successful mutation he was allowed to carry out several reconnaissance missions into the Hidden City to get to know their enemy better. He could not have anticipated getting to know the enemy well enough to have pity for them, let alone guilt for what they were planning. Eventually he started training his team to over throw the EPF instead of the Hidden City without ever letting on his intentions. Who in his position would ever betray Bishop, even if they don’t get along? You don’t become a Guardian if you’re weak willed enough to be swayed by such disgusting creatures, after all.

29.) What is one headcanon that you have?

For the funsies, I like the idea that Touch and Go's powers are a result of some messed up experiment. Was it aliens, some deranged scientist, their own idea? It doesn't matter. What does matter is the fact that they unfortunately never made a comeback after a couple of episodes. The Foot has a tendency to never get rid of anyone deleterious to its operations as long as they are remotely useful (see: Stockman) so they either gave their two weeks notice and got away with it or were recruited by someone else.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if two weirdos of their caliber caught the attention of the EPF, you know? It's a matching set for the freak collection.

30.) What is one common headcanon that you reject?

I don't know why so many are convinced that Mikey is an artist past the one show where he declares himself one. He likes comics, movies and video games but you won't catch him draw but rather write. He's so passionate about the stuff he likes he'll be writing about it and for it. Raph won't make fun of him for it because at least it means he'll be quiet for five damn minutes.

So '03 Mikey is definitely posting fanfiction on the internet. Make of that what you will.

I have no strictly TMNT OCs to show off but I've been having a great time tossing my own OCs in the mix. Half of the job was done by IDW with the two GB/TMNT crossovers (even if I treat it more of a canovaccio than a canon to keep in mind), I just had to add my own nonsense to it.

And yes, I know it's mostly been a case of "local old man regrets ever crossing paths with local gang of magic weirdos and that one cyborg" but I'm a little past the days of considering becoming a ninja turtle a sensible career path (my references in this regard are still rather promising btw, I just never figured out how to be green). The idea of ladies and boyos fucking with the government is funny because of course they didn't just drop it after the first time (and neither would Bishop, c'mon).

Prolonged Agony Chapter 23!

I decided it was probably about time I worked out a proper timeline, for my own sanity more than anything, since some chapters overlap.

I will update the timeline as the story progresses to avoid spoilers for those who are following along with the fic.

The timeline is rough and might be edited in the future, but as I said, this is mostly to help me keep track of everything lol

Timeline.

Part 1: Getting Leo home.

1st: Canon portal - Divergence starts.

Ooze

There are two types of mutagen in OOTC. One primary, one secondary.

Primary mutagen is a byproduct of Utrom atmosphere converters in the TCRI building— the Utroms have protocol to contain it so it doesn't contaminate their temporary home planet, but some of the machines were faulty and the Utroms were unaware— partially to do with the workers at the facility, and Bishop's external bribery to keep it hush hush.

The way primary mutagen mutates organisms is that it enhances/increases the self-awareness and intelligence of any organism with or without a nervous system, as well as anthropomorphising them and giving most the ability to speak. If a human were to come into contact with it, they would gain high intelligence but mostly keep their physical state with slight alterations that are easily overlooked.

Secondary mutagen is a highly reactive substance synthesised by Agent Bishop and Dr Baxter Stockman, who were previously capitalising off of the outflow of primary mutagen by using it as the main power source for their laboratory/office building.

After the Utroms fixed their atmosphere converters' mutagen disposal unit, Stockman and Bishop decided to synthesise their own chemical compound that manages to generate enough energy to sustain the high-energy work they do in Stockgen and the EPF. This is the secondary mutagen.

How it mutates organisms is by fusing the DNA of any organism with DNA into one— essentially creating amalgamations of species. If the mutated person has an obvious larger abundance of DNA of a certain animal, they will instead take on that form. However they will still retain their human-like cognition.

How it reacts to organisms mutated from primary ooze is very different— it reverses the mutation, essentially acting as a form of retro-mutagen which has slow-acting, but permanent consequences.

Examples of people from primary ooze would be Seymour Guts, who started out as a network of prototype organic nanobots which somehow ended up in the ocean, being bathed with ocean water contaminating the stuff. The nanobots gained an ability to coordinate extra well, forming a fully functioning organism with its circulatory system consisting of mutagen, hence the Mutagen Man. Because his cells are Nanobots Premium, Seymour is very fragile and needs extra care or he'll be splayed back into a network of organic bots.

The kidnapped children on D'Hoonib were exposed to mutagen because Krang got impatient when he realised that their intelligence level had not reached the point where they were able to conceptualise the Utroms' scientific theorems. With an enhanced intelligence they were able to be about as intelligent as the average Utrom at their point in lifespan, therefore made it easier for Krang to tell them about important concepts yet-to-be-discovered by humanity.

The Mutagen Bomb using secondary mutagen mutated many humans and changed their lives forever, including Jennika and one other Mona Lisa who was, at the time, babysat by April for the past 3 days and hence mutated into a human-salamander hybrid.

Hazel: Old widow who lives alone, she has four grandkids from an arranged marriage. She owns a pistol and considered a back alley doctor. (That's how she met Raph). She had recently lost her wife Rosa, and was making Mac and Cheese when she hear a crash and there lay a turtle in a red bandana. Oh cool, new grandchild.

She knows Casey Jones, no she didn't date him, since the two were young. She actually meets Donatello while he was avoiding Purple Dragons, the two somehow became close friends for the longest time without his brothers knowing.

He wasn't interested in marriage or women, but he delightfully chatted with an unknown Samurai despite the tense between ninja and them. He is the third tallest Hamato at 8ft and a jolly personality. His main weapon of choice is Kakute.

Her mother was recaptured after forcing the boys to run, and Bishop is finally doubting his Superiors.

Hamato Himari: Is a trained assassin and one of the few Kunoichi that died directly to Saki, she is bitter about that and doesn't really like the turtles (she warms up to them) and one of the few who didn't accept Draxum or April to the clan. She allows Cassandra only because she was raised with the foot and technically Saki's responsibility. (She'll come around and even train Mikey how to be an assassin) though for now she doesn't interact with the family unless it's necessary.

AHA THE SECOND PART GOOO! Yeah so not much changed between Atlas and Ace. They are the same people so uh.. this is mostly about their job as an EPF Agent. They have been an agent since the PSA. Even if the scouting out was weird. Uh this does include both DS games so I'll find a way to fit that into the lore. They are the EPF Generalist Lead. Or more accurately EPF Team leaders lead.. who takes on the Generalist lead role. Basically minus like Gary, they work Directly under the director. (Twice if you count the newspaper.) The pin on their bag is made specifically for all leads. The actual other members like any new recruits do have pins but the leads get a golden one with like, a specific colour per department. Since Atlas is the generalist they got grey. The outfit is actually one from the PSA, the vest was changed when they got one with an EPF logo on the back but otherwise, same outfit. The bag they have was originally a camping bag. But they never went camping so.. Items in the bag are: (Some aren't shown as I didn't want to draw them.)

Flashlight - Despite the fact the cybernetic eye can see in the dark.. the other can't so its nice to have a flashlight

Taser.. To be fair Gary made it for them. Its called protection. Even if they are physically fit. They do not know how to fight properly so.

Makeshift grappling hook - "Ol' Reliable." - They had it since the PSA and never got rid of it. They don't mind the actual grappling hook. they just like it a lot.

Relations to other EPF agents: Director - Fine. ya know. Not much to say. Minus of course the fact that they work for both the newspaper and the EPF so she is their boss twice but- what can ya do New recruits (NOT THE LEADS) - Again, fine. They aren't the strictest boss in the world. Often times seen joking with newer recruits but, works work. Gary - ah Gary. The two are friends. In fact, Gary is the one who made Atlas the whole cyber eye. Usually they wore an eyepatch to cover the area but Gary made them that so they could still see. Atlas returned the favour by consistently buying him coffee. (That was before they joined the PSA.) Considering Gary is like, team dad. They have accidently called him Dad but like. It was a few times. Rookie - Definitely their favourite hands down. they will never admit it though. Cmon. You need someone to light up your life. and the two can make terrible puns to each other its amazing. JPG - Atlas once called him brother and now that stuck. But no really they view him as an older brother figure. He has kind of accepted it and now Atlas has an older brother. Unlike Gary the whole brother thing is intentional now. Also likes to gossip with him about others on the island. Dot - Gossiper number two. the three of them have formed a gossip circle. and thats mostly Dot who adds stuff to the groupchat. Mostly outside of that, the two are friends. Paige/PH - Again, friends both inside and outside of work. Atlas usually goes to Paige just to snuggle with the Elite puffles.. and steal popcorn for some reason she has popcorn. Yeah.. I don't know how to write relationships. they sound better in the head. But I'm pretty sure I can draw them better lol. Anyways, Atlas. Agent Ace. Other info:

They own two puffles. Gear (He/Him): A small black puffle who wears a pair of like.. work goggles on his head. He's way more protective of Atlas and doesn't really like anyone's company SnowBall (He/Him): A small white puffle who is fluffy. He wears a small snowflake clip. He doesn't care who you are he wants attentions and loves all of you. Personality: Nice, kind. Can be a bit sassy if put to the test. uh.. a little violent. When you first meet them they are a little shy. But once you get to know them. OH BOY will they chat your ear off. Uh.. Other interesting info that is not relating to their job:

Long-term capital gains from the sale of a residential property (land/building) will be exempted if the individual invests the sale consideration in more than 50% of the equity shares of an ‘eligible company’.

‘Eligible Company’ includes an ‘eligible startup’*

This eligible company with the amount received on the sale of shares to the individual will have to now purchase new assets within one year from date of subscription of shares.

The amount of exemption is worked proportionately to the cost of the new plant and machinery purchased by the eligible company.

The lock-in-period i.e. period for which transfers cannot be made for the equity shares as well as for the new assets purchased shall be 5 years from the respective acquisition dates.

*Eligible Startup:

(a) Incorporated between 1/4/2016 and 31/32021

(b) Total turnover of business <or= 25 Cr

(c) holds a certificate from IMBC (Inter-Ministerial Board of Certification)

Making investments in funds notified by the Government

Long-term capital gains from the sale of a capital asset will be exempted if the individual invests such sale consideration in units of funds notified by the Central Government (funds raised for startups and issued before 31/3/2019)

Maximum investment that can be made (maximum exemption) shall be INR 50 Lakhs and the same shall be made within 6 months from the transfer of the original asset.

The amount of exemption is available to the extent of investment made in such notified funds.

It is quite clear that the main purpose of the above 2 exemptions is to stimulate a larger quantum of investments in startups.

No Tax on Profits for 3 consecutive years – ‘Tax Holiday’

100% of the profits derived by an ‘eligible startup’ for any 3 consecutive years out of 7 years beginning from the year in which the start-up in incorporated is the amount of deduction.

‘Eligible Startup’ has the same meaning as explained in the first exemption stated above.

Entrepreneurs should not form such startup by splitting up or by reconstruction of an already existing business

A startup’s total turnover should not exceed INR 25 Crores in the year in which such deduction is claimed.

Call your investors – ‘Angel Tax’ Exemption

Earlier, if a startup receives consideration from a resident Indian for issuing shares at a premium, then tax was levied on aggregate consideration received over and above the fair market value of those shares.

Recently, the Government, subject to certain conditions after bowing to “sustained pressure” from startups has eased this burden of paying taxes on such premiums received. A big relief!

So, what are these conditions?

There are some conditions for exemption of angel tax as per this guide for startups in India, these are as follows-

Recognized by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Total amount of paid-up share capital + share premium of the startup after issue does not > 25 Crores*

The startup has not invested in land/building/shares/securities/motor vehicles or aircraft (> 10 lakhs) / jewellery other than held as its stock-in-trade.

*The 25 Crore Aggregate capital condition is not applicable if shares are issued to a:

non-resident Indian;

a venture capital company/fund;

to a company whose shares are frequently traded on a stock exchange having net worth and turnover of INR 100 Crores and INR 250 Crores preceding the year of issue.

Companies Act 2013 Relaxations

Companies should hold a minimum of 4 Board Meetings every year with a gap of not more than 120 days between 2 such meetings.

However, if your startup is a private company, then the requirement is at least one Board Meeting in each 6 calendar months with a gap of not less than 90 days between 2 such meetings.

If your startup is not a partnership firm and has become insolvent, then the facility of a fast track insolvency resolution process is available rather than the usual 180-day corporate insolvency resolution process.

The Ministry has also exempted a startup company from preparing a cash flow statement since mostly funds come in from investors or from Government itself.

Easy Entry Easy Exit!

The legal formalities which are required to be undertaken for entry and exit for startups have been simplified as a part of the latest reforms by the Government.

The Govt has in addition to the ease of entry also taken efforts to make exit trouble-free:

Getting the name struck-off from the register of companies

Earlier, there were more than 80% of startups which collapsed within its first 3 years of starting up. Now, to instil in confidence and courage, the Government have eased the procedures on striking off.

Fast-track Insolvency Resolution

The Govt has now halved the winding-up process from 180 days for companies to just 90 days for others which include startups.

State Government Efforts

In its efforts to build a stronger startup ecosystem in Kerala, the Government has managed to tap into private investment funds to raise INR 1000 crore in corpus funds for budding entrepreneurs.

The Govt will make this available over the next four years.

Recently, the State Government chose investors – Unicorn India Ventures, Exseed Electron Fund, Indian Angel Network and Speciale Incept Fund for the goal.

The pact mandates investing 25 % of the volunteered amount in the next four years and therefore by 2022 the state is guaranteed with a minimum investment of INR 300 crore.

The first leg of the 2017- launched ‘Seeding Kerala’ saw encouraging results, prompting the Government to raise INR 60 Crores.
